''10,000 gecs'' is the second studio album by {{hyperpop}} duo Music/HundredGecs. It was promoted via a tour taking place in 2021, and was expected to release early 2022, but was eventually delayed several times before finally releasing on March 17, 2023.

It goes in a [[NewSoundAlbum distinctly new direction]] from the duo's [[Music/ThousandGecs previous album]], having a smaller focus on that album's hyperpop sound and a bigger focus on different subgenres of rock such as NuMetal and PunkRock, while still distorting the flying fuck out of them in their special Gec way.

!!TROPES ONCE AGAIN:
* AllLowercaseLetters: "mememe".
* AutoTune: Some auto-tune is used for distortion of the vocals, but unlike their past releases, this album features songs with Laura and Dylan using their natural voice more.
* BaitAndSwitch: "I got my tooth removed" goes from a melancholy waltz about leaving a hurtful relationship [[MoodWhiplash to an upbeat ska ditty]], revealing that it was about a toothache instead.
* ComedicWorkSeriousScene: While the album mostly consists of not very serious songs in terms of meaning, it also has its fair share of serious ones.
** "Dumbest girl alive" is believed to be about all of the feelings during transitional surgeries following being transgender, which is sung by Laura Les, a transgender woman.
** "Hollywood Baby" is seemingly about all the stress that comes with being in the music industry and the shitty corporate vultures and grifters who force bad deals on new artists who don't know better.
** "mememe" is most likely about leaving a dysfunctional relationship, with both people taunting the other about how they only ever [[LovingAShadow Loved A Shadow]] and never really knew them.
* GenreRoulette: As stated before, most of the songs on the album are different subgenres of rock or other genres as illustrated below:
** Alternative Rock: "Dumbest girl alive", "Doritos & Fritos"
** Hyperpop: "757", "mememe"
** Punk Rock: "Hollywood Baby"
** Ska: "Frog On The Floor", "I got my tooth removed"
** Nu-Metal: "Billy knows jamie", "One million Dollars"
** Hip-Hop: "The Most Wanted Person In the United States"
** Fifties Pop[=/=]{{Jazz}}: The opener and penultimate section of "I got my tooth removed".
* HorribleHollywood: Used as a metaphor for the music industry in "Hollywood Baby", filled with shallow suits promising wealth and luxury at the cost of selling out and getting enslaved to how they want your music to sound.
* IncomingHam:
** "Dumbest girl alive" (and the album itself) get announced with the classic head-exploding blare of [[Film/THX1138 a THX Soundsystem]], interrupted with gunshots and Laura screaming '''"WOO!!!"'''
** Bookended by "mememe" announced with a heavily distorted classic DJ shoutout ("BACK ONCE AGAIN!"), modified into [[AC:GEC ONCE AGAIN!]]
* InheritedIlliteracyTitle: [[Music/RedHotChiliPeppers Anthony Kiedis"]] is spelled as "Kedis" in the lyrics and merch.
* LimitedLyricsSong: The lyrics to "One million Dollars" are mostly just [[TitleDrop "One million dollars"]].
* PunnyTitle: Clever usage of the term "Hollywood Baby" (which bears a similar definition as the more recent "nepo baby") with the lyrics "you'll never make it in Hollywood, baby," and "Little tiny Hollywood baby," the latter implying a literal baby.
* {{Sampling}}: "The Most Wanted Person In The United States" samples "Insane in the Brain" by Music/CypressHill and a scene from ''Film/ScaryMovie''.
* ShoutOut:
** "Doritos & Fritos" is one to [[Music/MFDoom MF DOOM]], with the title being a reference to the line: "And get more cheese than Doritos, Cheetos or Fritos" from Accordion by {{Music/Madvillainy}}.
*** The cover art for the single release is also a reference to MF DOOM, having a fork held up to Dylan's face so that it resembles the mask that Daniel would wear.
*** While it isn't one to MF DOOM, the line "I'm swimming to the ocean, but there was a commotion" references [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykwqXuMPsoc "Narwhals"]] by WebAnimation/WeeblAndBob.
** The line "I play violin on sinking ships" from "I got my tooth removed" is probably one to the sinking of the RMS Titanic, where it is believed that the band that was on it while it sank played "Nearer, My God, To Thee".
** The opener of "I got my tooth removed" is an affectionate parody of heartbroken 50s sad teen ballads, like those by Music/{{Dion}}.
** "Dumbest girl alive" opens up with the classic Film/THX1138 blast.
** "The Most Wanted Person in the United States" has Laura bragging about [[Music/RedHotChiliPeppers Anthony Kiedis sucking on her penis]].
* SurrealMusicVideo: Naturally for 100 gecs.
** "Billy knows jamie" is notable for being surreal purely for having a music video which is professionally shot and, well for lack of a better word, more "traditional". It's still about angry roid-raging powerlifters taking 'roids and smashing Billy's head open when he interrupts their concert when the song implied Jamie was some kind of barely-human methhead metalhead that made [[Music/AnalCunt Seth Putnam]] look cuddly.
