''Goblin Is Very Strong'' (''Goblin wa Mou Juubun ni Tsuyoi'') is a {{shonen|Demographic}} fantasy manga by Salamander, which was serialized in ''Dengeki Daioh "G"'' from 2017 to 2020.

In a world of generic fantasy role playing game tropes, the goblins are hapless XP fodder for starting adventurers. Except one day Honwasabi (Wasabi for short), a young female goblin stumbles across a dying adventurer and finishes him off and gets XP herself.

Then she does it again and again...

And after this long stroke of luck and some genuine fighting, a goblin is the strongest person on the planet. Quite possibly stronger than the MaouTheDemonKing.

Luckily her ambitions are limited to protecting her fellow goblins, hanging out at the demon king's castle and 'harassing' Aki, an OrdinaryHighschoolStudent girl, who's been summoned to the world and told she has to defeat the demon king to go home.

!!This work contains examples of:
* AllLovingHero: Ami tries to get along with everyone, including the very monsters she tries to fight. She levels up slower than other heroes because after wounding hostile monsters, she lets them run away rather than finishing them off. She even forgives her own angel [[spoiler: for possessing her and (temporarily) killing Mimet.]]
* BadassNormal: Honwasabi doesn't have any MP, so she has no special techniques.
* BeefGate: Honwasabi's job is to act as one to keep down the number of low level adventurers.
* BossInMooksClothing: Honwasabi is a goblin, one of the weakest monsters, but due to her abnormally high level and extensive fighting experience, she can solo entire armies of adventurers.
* CuteAndPsycho: Honwasabi's idea of being friendly with a heroine involves only fighting to the death on alternate days.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Wasabi is a small girl with green skin and pointed ears.
* DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist: Heroes automatically revive at the church. However this does cost money and dying painfully is still traumatic. It's also only true for heroes and their party.
* DoppelgangerGetsSameSentiment: Mimet was on the receiving end of this when, in an attempt to catch up on a book series she liked [[spoiler: she breaks into the home that her body lived in, which leads to her getting discovered by the girls father, who hugs what he can only see to be his deceased daughter. Mimet's own memories of him, and the story of the book leaves her incapable of killing him as she gets the same feeling back. Even after she tells him that [[ThatManIsDead his daughter is dead]] his continued kindness towards her causes her to eventually decide to become his [[ReplacementGoldfish surrogate granddaughter]] and stay with him for the rest of his life.]]
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Aki occasional gets Cross shaped pupils when in the presence of demons. [[spoiler: It's the sign of the angel inside of her trying to take over her body to kill its mortal enemies.]]
* LeaveYourQuestTest: Wasabi pulls this on the [[SuicidalOverconfidence overconfident]] but underleveled [[{{Nepotism}} Former Royal Knight]] Arielle after she realizes that without a party and without money for revival she was going to die for real. [[CuteAndPsycho She then kills her anyway]] but [[PetTheDog leaves money for her revival in her coffin as long as she never adventures again.]] Aki almost plans do to this after [[spoiler: her angel attacked her friends.]]
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: [[spoiler: Angels possess Summoned heroes and are the reason they can revive and why they have the urge to kill demons.]]
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: All Demons, including the Demon King are actually the spiritual opposite of angels, but whereas angels possess living heroes and enhance their powers, [[spoiler: Demons are [[PossessingADeadBody spiritually possessed corpses]]]]
* PlayingWithFire: Granite (Aki's mage party member) uses this, though she's not very good at it. [[spoiler: She's actually AnIcePerson, but due to being born and raised in [[GrimUpNorth the coldest part of the continent]], she doesn't like her real element affinity and [[WillfullyWeak only uses fire]] in all but the most desperate situations.]]
* PunchClockHero: Aki's deal with Wasabi turns her into this on the alternate days that they're friends. Wasabi once even took Aki on a tour of the Demon Lord's castle, where she had a friendly conversation with the final boss.
* PunchClockVillain: Wasabi has no hesitation in going to the human town to go shopping after her work shift and doesn't see why a human shopkeeper should complain about a monster coming in to shop and paying with bloodstained coins.
* RPGMechanicsVerse: The setting appears to use a RPG leveling mechanic as well as a respawn mechanics for heroes, and the entire reason Honwasabi is so strong is that she's a level 99 Goblin.
* ShrinkingViolet: Mimet despite being a demon is almost painfully shy and awkward and even seems afraid of her own fellow monsters. [[spoiler: This is because after several decades pretending to be a human the natural behavior of monsters frighten her.]]
* SummonEverymanHero: Summoned Heroes are a common foe for Honwasabi.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Aki's ability to take on threats far outside of her level has both the Demon Lord and Wasabi interested in seeing her grow in power.
* WrapItUp: [[spoiler: The series got canceled after chapter 40, forcing the writer to sum up the rest of the manga at the end of the volume.]]
