37	* SecretRelationship: Kayn and Jalek let no one know they were a couple, mainly because Kayn had a very conservative father who would never let his son date anything than a female noble (Jalek is obviously neither). As it turns out, Jalek's surrogate father and Kayn's older brother knew all along and helped cover their tracks.

One's a royal Prince, the other is a mere soldier. Jalek is then [[spoiler: unwittingly]] involved in a plot to take control of Thald by killing off the royalty. [[spoiler: Kayn then consciously attempts to avert the trope: in order to provide a last moment of happiness to a dying Jalek, he recites the traditional marriage vows. Not only does it fulfill Jalek's lifelong dream of being married to the man he loves until he dies, it also eventually becomes one of the most important cases in King Kaell's attempts to legalize same-sex marriage in his own kingdom (one of many steps in making Thald closer to Leothar in matter of governance).]]
