The ''Literature/BloodSingerSeries'' by Cat Adams, which follows the interesting life of professional bodyguard Celia Graves lives in an alternate California where vampires stalk the alleys at night, werewolves are dangerous animals to be feared and the police have witches and telepaths to help do their job. Of course, so do the criminals. Formerly a vanilla human, Celia was attacked by a master vampire determined to make her his own. He failed. But he left his mark on her life by turning her into an Abomination—half human and half vampire. He instilled in her a hunger for blood, the inability to eat solid food and an allergy to sunlight. The bite also activated a bloodline she didn’t know existed. She became a full fledged Pacific siren whose psychic call influences men and women. The Feds want her help, the cops want her imprisoned and the criminals want her dead. Isn’t life grand for Celia?

!!This series contains examples of:

* AbusiveParents: Celia's and Ivy's mother Lana was an abusive drunk that made their childhoods even more miserable. Vicki's rich celebrity parents were so embarassed of her clairvoyant powers that they hired a BodyDouble to pass as their daughter for the media and her mother Cassandra was fairly horrible to the BodyDouble as well.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: All demons for one. Also full vampires. Celia is in danger of becoming this trope if she ever gives in to her vampiric bloodlust.
* BadassNormal: Celia, prior to the vampire bite that turned her live on its ear and awakened her siren ancestry, was a powerless human who protected other people for a living. Still she's not a professional bodyguard for nothing.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: The siren princess Eirene and her alter ego Irene. Also Emma's brother Kevin. Which is unintentionally HilariousInHindsight since he is also a werewolf.
* BrokenBird: Emma after being tortured by a demon. Celia would count since she has had a horrible life filled with pain and loss but she has not let it break her.
* CharmPerson: All of the sirens can enchant men that have hit puberty, are not too old and attracted to women.
* {{Curse}}
* DirtyCop: Officer Clarke and his buddies who goes vigilante against Celia and at one point even tries to run her down with his car.
* EnlightenmentSuperpower: True believers and [[GoodShepherd priests]] are protected by their faith and can protect others from hellish abominations.
* FantasticRacism: After the bite Celia finds herself at the end of this trope quite a lot. Police officers go vigilante on her and try to frame her so they can have an excuse to kill her in "self defence."
* FreudianExcuse: Lana's descent into alcoholism and abusive behaviour seems to have been caused by her husband leaving her and her siren genetics. Apparently no man is supposed to be able to leave a siren. Doing so seems to unravel everything they are and destroys them.
* GreenEyedMonster: All fertile women tend to have this in spades toward sirens. It mostly manifest as irrational dislike.
* TheHighQueen: Celia's aunt, Queen Lopaka.
* LonelyRichKid: Vicki was one.
* LoveHurts
* PsychoExGirlfriend: Bruno's high school sweetheart Angelina.
* ReallyRoyaltyReveal: Celia, after her siren ancestry was revealed.
* RichBitch: Vicky's mother Cassandra Meadowes. When the media gets wind that the woman posing as her daughter is actually a BodyDouble for her real daughter, Cassandra promptly throws out the poor woman and goes as far as to take her clothes as well.
* UrbanFantasy
* {{Yandere}}: Bruno's high school sweetheart.
