As much as WesternAnimation/BojackHorseman deals with depression, existentialism dread and full-blown absurdism, there's no denying that there's a lot of subtext in which the male cast has shown to be a bit...too close

[[folder: [=BoJack=]/Mr. Peanutbutter]]
If one were to be dropped into one of the moments these two share on-screen, you might confuse their banter with BelligerentSexualTension or even to think they're a couple already. Their VitriolicBestBuds routine and Keet Mr. Peanutbutter's relentless desire for [=BoJack=] to like him certainly do not help. Nor does the fact that certaina lot of people, actually portions of the fanbase do ship them.
----
* Mr. Peanutbutter's attitude towards [=BoJack=] often show him trying to win his affection, either by getting a hug, a handshake or waiting for him to call him.
* [=BoJack=], for his part, is often exasperated by Mr. Peanutbutter due to him starring in a ripoff of his sitcom JustForFun/HorsinAround and being happy all the time. Tsundere He often goes out of his way to mock and humiliate him, yet can often appreciate his company due to his crippling loneliness.

* Mr. Peanutbutter's introduction begins with him entering Elefante and trying to strike a conversation with [=BoJack=] while he's breaking up with Princess Carolyn. He even ignores the former's anger at the situations and tells him it was nice talking to him.
* [=BoJack=] actually takes the word of Mr. Peanutbutter of chatting at the party in the end of the episode. Of course, it's about something he doesn't want to talk or think about, so he goes to talk to Erica.

* Before heading to the restaurant, Diane convinces Mr. Peanutbutter to bring [=BoJack=] along by pointing out how much does he bring up the subject of spending time with [=BoJack=], wondering why he hasn't called, wanting Diane to hang up since he might be calling at that precise moment.
* [=BoJack=] and Mr. Peanutbutter try to show off to Diane only for them to soon forget her and simply try to one up each other in increasingly ridiculous contests.
* Mr. Peanutbutter brags about tricking [=BoJack=] into getting a handshake. He is not amused.
* Once they're pitching ideas to get the "D" out of the house, Mr. Peanutbutter and [=BoJack=] bond over coffee mixed with Bailey's .
* [=BoJack=] calls Mr. Peanutbutter a "MagnificentBastard" lovingly after he gives him an idea of how to get rid of the "D".

* While picking up Diane, [=BoJack=] encounters Mr. Peanutbutter after a drunken incident in which he punched a mirror believing it was another dog. SPOILER: He's wearing a cone. Normally, [=BoJack=] wouldn't pass this opportunity to mock him, especially considering all of the shit he went through in season 1. But because he's trying a new attitude, he's simply nice to him. All of the sudden, these two are actually "hanging out", much to Diane's surprise. Never does [=BoJack=] insults PB, he actually encourages him to continue his cheerful attitude through the day, even agreeing with him with both being "life lovers". It's a genuine FriendshipMoment between the two, with PB telling BJ about his love for ska and for the Stones (Music/TheMightyMightyBosstones, that is), even offering to take him to one concert, which he agrees to.
** Special notice goes to PB's first reaction when [=BoJack=] sees him wearing the cone. He flusters and shies away, as if he's embarrassed that him of all people is seeing him like this. Granted, he's ashamed already in the previous scene because he has to leave the house with the cone but still....
* Later, when [=BoJack=] is starting to slip when his attitude clashes with his performance in Secretariat, Mr. Peanutbutter visits him in his trailer, having made him some compilations of the best work of the [=MMBTes=] for him to dip his feet in. [=BoJack=] cruelly dismisses him and PB, dejected, feels he might have done something wrong. The last lines are telling.
-->Mr. Peanutbutter: All right. You don't wanna listen to Bosstones together. That's the impression that I get. Is it the impression that I get?\
[=BoJack=]: Yes. That's the impression that you get.\
Mr. Peanutbutter: [looking sad] I see. Way to go, Mr. Peanutbutter. What a stupid move. Why did you--?

* See the page image? It's a snapshot from the episode and its premise ([=BoJack=] enters Mr. Peanutbutter's game show as a guest star and the boiling mixed feelings between the two come to a head) is rife with all kinds of tension.
* The episode goes back and forth as both fellows try to one-up each other.
* [=BoJack=] admits that he's jealous of Mr. Peanutbutter for getting things so easily and asks him to forgive him for the bad things he's done to him.
* Mr. Peanutbutter tearfully admits that he knows that [=BoJack=] dislikes him and asks him directly why, since all he has wanted is to be his friend despite the scorn he throws at the poor dog.
* Despite [=BoJack=]'s remorse and pleas, Mr. Peanutbutter admits he doesn't know if he can forgive him. When talking with Wanda, he reveals that what he wants is to actually have a real conversation with [=BoJack=] to mend up the right way.
* Peerpressured to end the feud by Wanda, Mr. Peanutbutter is convinced by Creator/DanielRadcliffe that the only way to forgive [=BoJack=] is to kiss him. Don't ask. He insists it's the only way to mend up and uses some AnticipatoryBreathSpray before going in.
* [=BoJack=] initially tries to pass on the kiss, but the pressure of the people and the desire to be forgiven by Mr. Peanutbutter make him go through with it.
* During the kiss, both of their reactions are telling: [=BoJack=] is having a kiss catatonia and is apparently ambivalent about the whole thing while Mr. Peanutbutter's quite passionate about it and is even gently stroking [=BoJack=]'s mane a little.
* After the kiss, Mr. Peanutbutter describes it as "stern but supple", implying that he liked and that [=BoJack=] started reciprocating at one point. He even gives him the game.

* Mr. Peanutbutter is VERY enthusiastic about Bojack moving in with him after previously mentioning how odd it is not having a wife or girlfriend to take care of living with him.

* Mr. Peanutbutter's reassurances towards Bojack during their last scene together are notably similar to those he used while trying to convince his ex-wives/girlfriends that he wouldn't leave their sides in the Season 5 episode "Mr. Peanutbutter's Boos". Despite the fact that, like with his previous partners, he ends up distracted at the party, the series ends with them both single and implies that Mr. Peanutbutter will be the one person throughout Bojack's life who will never leave him.

* In "Bojack Kills", Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter get sprayed by a skunk and they try to get rid of the smell, which includes taking a tomato bath together. While having their bath, Todd says " Oh, I taste delicious" in a seductive tone.
* Todd being eyed by the two rival prison gangs is played like two guys asking the same girl to the prom.
* The guy who appears to be covering his RagingStiffie when [=BoJack=] is naked at Princess Carolyn's office.
* Princess Carolyn has a fantasy sequence about living in an idyllic New England cottage, with the only other person around being her rival Vanessa Gecko as her maid. Also, [=PC=]'s imagination stuck Vanessa Gecko in a sexy FrenchMaidOutfit.
* Herb Kazzaz, who is eventually outed as gay, impulsively kisses [=BoJack=] on the observatory, then tries to awkwardly brush it off. A flashback in a later episode also shows him "jokingly" offer to teach [=BoJack=] how to pull off a kissing scene, complete with him reaching in with his lips puckered. [=BoJack=] just laughs it off.
** Season 6 reveals this wasn't just a one-off - Herb attempted to kiss [=BoJack=] when the latter was nervous about an on-screen kiss with Cindy Crawfish.
