* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS1E19XMarksTheSpot X Marks the Spot]]": The other Castaways are sitting at the table, clearly grief-stricken after Gilligan has been swept away by the missile. Mrs. Howell suggests renaming one of their estates after Gilligan; Mr. Howell contemplates setting up a fund, and the Skipper says he's going to christen his next ship after his departed first mate. When Gilligan arrives, soaking wet but very much alive, it only takes a second of realization for the others to mob him. The Professor, who was instructing him on the WireDilemma, is the first to reach him.
* "The Chains of Command": Gilligan is discouraged because the Skipper has seemingly been kidnapped and no one will listen to him. Mary Ann boosts his confidence enough to take charge by letting him put her through a series of orders and [[RousingSpeech giving him a stirring pep talk]].
* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS2E10HiFiGilligan Hi-Fi Gilligan]]":
** When Gilligan accidentally breaks the radio and knocks his teeth back to normal in one go, he quickly decides there's only one thing to do -- the Skipper needs to hit him to get his tooth radio working so they can track the storm. However, the Skipper can't bring himself to hit his "[[AffectionateNickname little buddy]]", even with his urging and with the knowledge that they need a working radio.
** A typhoon hits the island and the castaways plan to ride it out in a small cave, but there's not enough room for everyone and the supplies. The men draw straws to see who will stay outside in the storm. Gilligan breaks his straw in half to save his friends, seeing himself as [[MoreExpendableThanYou more expendable than them]]. When they realize what he did, the castaways leave the cave one and two at a time. If they can't all be safe, [[TrueCompanions they'll be together]]. However, this [[LaserGuidedKarma ends up saving their lives]] when the storm destroys the cave entrance immediately after they all leave.
** The Professor's remark when he leaves the cave is adorable enough to be mentioned all on its own. When he emerges, the Skipper tells him to go back; he can take care of Gilligan.
--->'''The Professor''': I know you can, so I'll take care of you!
* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS2E13GilliganGetsBugged Gilligan Gets Bugged]]": While gathering materials for an antidote, the Skipper gets bitten by one of the supposedly poisonous green-and-yellow bugs that bit Gilligan. Shortly afterwards, they come racing into the Professor's lab and the first thing Gilligan says is that the Professor has to help the Skipper.
* "Love Me, Love My Skipper":
** Gilligan hears from the Skipper that Howells [[SnubByOmission have apparently given invitations to everyone except him.]] He immediately says that if the Skipper isn't going, he's not going either.
** When the other Castaways think that the Howells have snubbed the Skipper in party invitations, they boycott the Howell's party and plan one in the Skipper's honor instead.
** Everyone ultimately finds out that Howells had invited the Skipper all along and didn't realize he never received his invite. (Mr. Howell had run into a tree and dropped it without realizing.)
* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS2E2BeautyIsAsBeautyDoes Beauty is as Beauty Does]]":
** At the beginning, while everyone's arguing whether Ginger or the sophisticated Mrs. Howell is more beautiful, the Professor stands up and says he knows a girl who embodies beauty, sweetness, and warmth, whom he would choose as the [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman most beautiful woman in the world]] -- Mary Ann. The way Mary Ann blushes and smiles at the praise is unforgettable.
** After every man on the island (except Gilligan) has listed a different female castaway as most beautiful, the Skipper makes a brief attempt to resolve the disagreement by stating that each of the girls is definitely first in class in her own category. Unfortunately, Mr. Howell and the Professor ([[NotSoAboveItAll of all people]]) keep the argument going until it escalates into the events of the rest of the episode.
** Even though the Skipper [[CelebCrush is very invested in Ginger winning]], to the point of attempting to sway Gilligan to achieve it, he's friendly to the other competitors, especially Mary Ann. When the Professor has trouble setting up the dance music, the Skipper quickly and sincerely offers to give him a hand rather than letting the problem get in Mary Ann's way as she attempts to show off her talent.
* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS2E27AllergyTime Allergy Time]]":
** Gilligan gets kicked out of his hut because the Skipper's allergy to his first mate won't let him rest. Gilligan bunks with the Professor next. The Professor is quite patient with Gilligan and gentler than some of the others even when he ultimately has to evict Gilligan after ''he'' begins sneezing too.
** After the entire camp has become allergic to Gilligan, the Professor creates a vaccine, but the Castaways are AfraidOfNeedles. Late one night, the Skipper is looking sadly at a photo of him and his "little buddy" when he starts to sneeze. The Skipper immediately goes to the Professor's hut and announces that he wants the vaccine right this minute, even when his nerves about the syringe cause him to pass out.
* "Slave Girl":
** The Professor and the Skipper [[IAmSpartacus both claim to be the titular girl's master]] so that her boyfriend will not challenge Gilligan to a fight for her.
** When it appears that Gilligan will be challenged to a death match for the girl whose life he saved, the Professor, Mary Ann, and Ginger (the only three in the hut) agree that they will fight and die with him rather than giving up one of their own to a certain, violent death.
* "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS3E6WhereTheresAWill Where There's A Will]]" has a chain of these. The episode starts with the castaways all taking care of Mr. Howell when he falls ill. This prompts Mr. Howell to realize they're all like family to him, and he leaves them each a different industry in his will -- not just random bequests, either, but chosen after he and his wife discuss which fit their personalities best. It ends with the rest of the cast mistakenly thinking Mr. Howell has died and conducting a funeral so heartfelt it moves him to tears before he reveals himself.
* In "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS3E18TheHunter The Hunter]]", Mr. Howell comes into the hut where Kincaid is holding Gilligan. He tells Kincaid Gilligan is important to him and tries to bribe him with increasing amounts of money to call off [[HuntingTheMostDangerousGame the hunt.]]
* In ''Rescue from Gilligan's Island'', Gilligan and the Skipper visit the Howell's during a dinner party. [[LoserFriendPuzzlesOutsiders Then, their guests insult Gilligan and the Skipper]]. The Howells' response? To throw the guests out without any hesitation.
** Even the Howells' butler seems moved and proud over his employers for sticking up for the lower class as he gladly shows the snobby guests the way out in disgust.
-->'''Guest''': Don't you think we're being just a bit unreasonable, Mr. Howell?
-->'''Butler''': Mr. Howell is never unreasonable.
* In "[[Recap/GilligansIslandS1E12AngelOnTheIsland Angel On The Island]]", a play starring Ginger (as Cleopatra) is to be performed to help lift her spirits. Mrs. Howell becomes jealous and has Mr. Howell (the director) replace Ginger with herself. After Ginger actually cries, and Gilligan incompetently tries to cheer her, Gilligan then (at a point when the castaways still don't know the Howells very well) has a private meeting with Mrs. Howell where he somewhat formally beseeches her to let Ginger have the part. (She does.) It's moments like that that make it easier to see why the other six DON'T kill Gilligan.
* In one episode, Gilligan believes that he's won the lottery and is now a millionaire, so the Howells offer to let him join their exclusive island club (which has a membership fee of $5,000). Gilligan gets lonely while there, so he writes all of the other castaways I.O.U.s to let them enter (a Heartwarming moment in and of itself). Mr. Howell isn't fond of his "private" club being invaded, and when Gilligan loses the lottery ticket that guarantees his riches, the "old" millionaire kicks everyone out. One OpinionChangingDream later, he realizes how selfish he's been. He quickly wakes up Gilligan and tells him that he's found the missing ticket, so he should go tell everyone that they can rejoin the club. While Gilligan rushes off to share the good news, Mrs. Howell realizes that Thurston made up a fake ticket as an excuse to have everyone come back. Even after the group hears on the radio that someone else claimed the winnings (it turns out Gilligan's original ticket was a year old), he still lets everyone stay. Awww.
* In "And Then There Were None", after what happened to all of them (falling down an old munitions pit) gets explained, the first thing the Skipper expresses is concern for Gilligan, who will probably think (as per the Professor's earlier hypothesis about island madness) that he's killed them all. When Gilligan gets himself tangled in a vine and falls down the same pit, he's quick to reassure him.
* In the ChristmasEpisode, the castaways hear reports of the authorities finally finding them, but it turns out to be a different island with different castaways (who were stranded for 11 years). Our group is naturally depressed about this and horrified that they might also be trapped for that long. However, that night, Santa (seemingly the Skipper in costume) appears to wish them a merry Christmas. When questioned what they have to be happy about, Santa reminds them of how things could've been worse (lost at sea, trapped on an island without food or water, etc.) and points out they became [[TrueCompanions like a family]] in the short time they've been on the island.
* In "The Second Ginger Grant" Gilligan helping an injured Mary Ann.
* Real-life examples:
** Originally, the opening theme's lyrics only named five of the seven cast members (with the Professor and Mary-Ann being billed as "and the rest"). The five named cast members thought this was unfair to the two and wanted it changed to include them; when the producers initially refused, Bob Denver (Gilligan's actor) used a loophole in his contract [[note]]Since Bob Denver played the title character, he had the option of putting his credit wherever he pleased. He threatened to demand his credit be moved to the ''end'' of the cast list unless Dawn Wells and Russell Johnson were properly included in the theme song.[[/note]] to ''force'' them into updating the lyrics to name all seven cast members for seasons two and three.
