!!Previews
* The entire teaser. It's basically Woody's gang playing a "Ring around the rosy" game, but there is one new member: Forky. This guy is basically a spork with a crudely made face, legs and arms, [[ExistentialHorror who ends up panicking about his existence]] and runs from the group. [[DisasterDominoes When Woody stops in confusion, cue the entire group accidentally slamming into each other,]] [[SlowMotionFall with parts flying, and audio cues playing ("There's a snake in my boot!" and "To infinity and beyond!")]].
** Throughout this, Music/JudyCollins' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgCVWcep0gs "Both Sides Now"]] is playing. [[SoundtrackDissonance And it continues over]] [[PlayedForLaughs the collision of toys]].
** As Forky runs away screaming, we can hear Woody exclaim this:
--->''[[EyeScream "Hey! Hey! Somebody get him before he pokes an eye out."]]''
* The second teaser featuring Creator/KeeganMichaelKey and Creator/JordanPeele as Ducky and Bunny commenting on the fact that a fourth ''Toy Story'' film has been made, followed by them repeatedly saying Buzz's catchphrase incorrectly.
** "To infinity and your mom!"
** "To insanity and a blonde!"
** Then Woody and Buzz just show up out of nowhere to correct them. [[{{Irony}} However, Ducky and Bunny laugh over this correction,]] [[YourCostumeNeedsWork as they don't believe that "To infinity and beyond" is the real catchphrase,]] because it's by definition impossible to reach infinity.
*** And it turns out that [[https://twitter.com/toystory/status/1092259233616273410 this is an actual joke that happens in the movie]].
---->'''Ducky:''' To infinity and ''my foot''!
*** Also, there's this:
---->'''Ducky:''' [[Film/{{Alien}} In the vacuum of space, they cannot hear you]] ''[Buzz activates his helmet, [[AgonyOfTheFeet which closes on Ducky's foot]]]'' '''''''SCREEEEEAAAAAAAAM!!! OOOOOOWWWWWW!! LET GO OF ME!'''''''
*** Also, in the movie proper:
---->'''Ducky:''' [[Franchise/StarWars In a galaxy far, far away,]] you got kicked in the head!
* In the official trailer:
-->'''Woody:''' You are going to help create happy memories that will last for the rest of her life!\
'''Forky:''' ''[was distracted by his hand]'' [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny Huh? Wha?]]\
''[Woody groans in frustration]''
** Prior to this, [[RefugeInAudacity Forky flat out asks why he's alive.]]
* This exchange involving the toys deciding what to do about rescuing Woody:
-->'''Rex:''' What would Woody do?\
'''Hamm:''' [[DeadpanSnarker Jump out of a moving vehicle.]]\
''[Buzz jumps out of the RV window into the carnival grounds]''\
'''Hamm:''' When you gotta go, you gotta go.

!!The Movie
* Bonnie commits a hilarious unintentional KickTheDog moment when she announces playtime, with every toy having a job in her make-believe town. The last toy she reaches for is Woody, as she says "And the sheriff!"... [[BaitAndSwitch and then takes Woody's badge off and puts it on Jessie.]]
** When playtime is done, [[ClassicallyTrainedExtra Mr. Pricklepants]] is complaining that Bonnie gave him the role of a baker, as [[SeriousBusiness the hat salesman is the role he is born to play.]] An unsympathetic Dolly tells him to "go back to your bakery".
* While he's in Bonnie's closet, her old toys congratulate Woody on his first dust bunny. They even try to name it.
** All while they think up a name for his dust bunny, Woody is busy trying to remove said dust bunny, but to no avail.
* Bonnie, after her kindergarten orientation, gleefully informing her parents that "I finished kindergarten!" Their expressions are priceless.
* Rex (who has short arms, mind you) being somewhat weirded out by Forky's long arms.
* Trixie's reaction to Forky.
-->Woody, I have a question. Um, well, actually, not just one, I have all of them. I have all the questions.
* Forky constantly trying to toss himself into the trash bin, and his general belief that he is nothing but pure garbage.
-->'''Woody:''' This is Forky.\
'''Forky:''' I'm trash!
** "Oh, chutes and ladders!"
** There's even a montage of the RV trip where Woody has to keep preventing Forky from jumping into the trash, all the while Randy Newman sings "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away", [[RefugeInAudacity which is essentially an upbeat anti-suicide song]].
*** At one point during the trip, Woody is so fed up with Forky's attempts to jump into the RV's trash bin that we [[GilliganCut cut]] to the RV driving down the road, whilst [[CuttingTheKnot the trash bin is thrown out the back window]] in frustration.
* While Woody and Forky bond as they walk down the road, Woody opens up about his own past. When discussing the events of [[WesternAnimation/ToyStory1 the first film]], Forky [[LetMeGetThisStraight gets a kick out of learning about Buzz's delusions of being a spaceman]].
-->'''Forky:''' So he thought that Andy's room was a ''planet''?! Wow! ''(laughs)'' That is messed up.\
'''Woody:''' Right? That's what I thought when he first showed up!\
'''Forky:''' I mean how is that ''not'' annoying?!\
'''Woody:''' ''Thank you!''
* In one of the first trailers, there was a shot of Forky cradling Woody's face and whispering "Everything's gonna be okay." On it's own, it was a cute moment. But in the context of the film, it's this trope, as it turns out Forky was actually explaining to Woody about the comforts of being trash.
** This [[EurekaMoment leads Woody]] to try and make Forky realize his own feelings about trash are the same as Bonnie's feelings towards him, which causes Forky to finally get his importance to Bonnie... [[SureLetsGoWithThat as her trash]].
* When they sneak into the antique store, Woody repeatedly calls Bo's name. Forky joins in, but as the scene goes on it becomes apparent that he doesn't realize it's someone's name and is just childishly repeating the word because he likes the sound of it. Woody is less than amused.
* There's something inexplicably funny about watching Harmony swing Woody from the seat of a bucket toddler swing.
* Bo’s sheep are ecstatic to see Woody again...until he gets their names wrong and isn't even aware they’re female. Later, when Duke sees Bo and the sheep, he pets them and says, "There's my girls!" Woody simply rolls his eyes.
* The poor Winter Combat Carl Jr. constantly being left hanging for a high-five, and his sad little pout when it happens. Luckily Duke Caboom gives him one in TheStinger.
* "I've known [Woody] my whole life. [[ReallyWasBornYesterday Two days.]]"
* Woody and Bo's ReactiveContinuousScream when he accidentally tears off her arm. [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction But then Bo's screaming gives way to laughter, as that arm's been broken for a while.]]
** Even so, Woody is visibly shaken, possibly caught off guard by how unfazed Bo is.
* Easy to miss, but Rex's counter-suggestion to getting Dad arrested involves warning Woody using ''time travel''.
* "We're not going anywhere. If you get my point."
* Bonnie's father barely contains himself to GoshDangItToHeck when he discovers the flat tire. Her mother sees where this is going and gets Bonnie right out of there because [[ClusterFBomb "Daddy's going to say some words."]]
* During a chase scene with the Dummies, Woody accidentally knocks into an old telephone, catching the attention of a human customer. When she turns around to see what it was, Woody is doing a goofy still pose with the phone, basically alluding to the [[https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51M01KVQKEL._SY450_.jpg classic Mickey Mouse phone.]]
** Even better is Bo and a Benson hiding out of view of the customer, glaring at each other, waiting for the opportunity to go after Woody.
* There's a heartfelt scene where Gabby bonds with Forky while waiting for Woody to come to rescue him, with Forky tenderly brushing Gabby's hair - and neither of them notice that he's using the flat end of the brush.
** This is also funny on a meta level; According to the director's commentary, the gag was put in because [[RealLifeWritesThePlot brushing hair is really hard to animate.]]
* Two Words: ''Plush Rush''.
-->'''Buzz:''' ...well, we're not doing ''that''.
** To further explain: [[NeverTrustATrailer It's not the one you see in the trailer.]] When trying to figure out how to get the key to the China cabinet off of the antique shop owner, Ducky and Bunny propose three different suggestions... [[RefugeInAudacity all of which involve the two of them jumping the elderly woman to get the key]]. The third one, the "Plush Rush", involves [[OverlyLongGag following her home and waiting for her to eat dinner, take a bath and go to bed]] before ominously rising from the side and beating up the elderly woman offscreen, and in fact takes so long that at one point [=Giggle McDimples=] point blank asks how much longer it is.
** And then you get to the punchline: We cut away from the group just as Buzz asks himself how they are going to get the key. When Buzz's group catches back up with Woody and Bo, we see how they did it: [[CuttingTheKnot literally seconds after Buzz asked that, the owner passed by where they were hiding and put her keys down near them]].
--->'''Bunny:''' ''[shares a look with Buzz and Ducky]'' [[BlatantLies ...it was hard.]]\
'''Buzz:''' ''Very'' difficult.\
'''Ducky:''' ''Barely made it out alive...''
** It comes back during TheStinger when they imagine attacking the carnie before growing to colossal sizes with Bunny firing lasers from his eyes. Duke even asks Bunny if he has laser eyes, to which he casually replies [[BlatantLies yes]]. And Duke ''buys'' it.
--->'''Duke Caboom:''' [[ActorAllusion Whoa!]]
* When Woody and Bo stop by the pinball machine, the first toy they encounter [[TheCameo is]] [[WesternAnimation/TinToy Tinny]]. [[MeetYourEarlyInstallmentWeirdness And he is 100% unimpressed with Woody.]]
* Because of Woody [[NiceJobBreakingItHero indirectly causing one of the Bensons to make off with Bo's sheep]], Bo makes a point of telling him to not talk while they stop at the pinball machine to look for Duke. When Bo takes too long mingling with the others inside:
-->'''Woody:''' ''[taps Bo's shoulder; [[LoopholeAbuse clears throat while pulling pullstring]]]''\
'''Voicebox:''' ''[as Woody [[CouldSayItBut pointedly looks at Bo]]]'' ''We gotta get this wagon train a-movin'!''\
'''Bo:''' ...agreed. [-Cheater.-]
** The toy Bo was talking to when Woody did this was a toy robot, who wanted her help finding a battery for him. [[KickTheDog She shoves him away after Woody makes his point.]]
--->'''Robot:''' [[AC:Bo, help me out, I need a battery. Battery. Battery.]] ''[is shoved onto his back]'' [[AC:[[BlackComedy Help help help help help!]]]]
* When explaining to Duke how Gabby Gabby got ahold of her sheep, Bo and Duke discuss [[TakeThat the stupidity of how]] [[ImStandingRightHere "some toy"]] decided to run into the aisle in front of the cabinet, [[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot instead of going behind the shelves]]. It is very clear to see how badly Woody is biting his tongue here.
* The RunningGag of Buzz using his voice box to guide him and his actions throughout the entire movie and the best part is that ''[[ContrivedCoincidence he actually does end up right on the money for the majority of the time]]'', yes even including when he has to fall back and leave Woody behind.
* Throughout the movie Woody has to teach Forky about simple words, such as "toy" and "friends". Later in the movie, when he tries to explain what a merry-go-round is, Forky says, "Oh, you mean a carousel." Woody is exasperated that he knows ''that'' word but not much else.
* As the toys try to prevent Bonnie and her family from leaving the carnival, Buttercup repeatedly suggests that they get Bonnie's father in trouble with the police so that he can be sent to jail. And while the idea is consistently shot down by the other toys, their plan ultimately sees them causing the family's RV to drive erratically, which [[BrickJoke does indeed result in Mr. Anderson getting stopped by the cops.]] After that comes the line which seemed to get the most laughs from the audience:
-->'''Buttercup:''' ''[giddy]'' Dad's ''totally'' going to jail!
* As Forky says goodbye to one of Gabby's dummy henchmen, he gives a completely cheerful and upbeat "He is terrifying!"
* When the toys escape the antique shop, the skunk-mobile is towing Gabby's baby carriage behind it. The skunk crashes and loses the carriage. A woman rushes up to it, concerned that a real baby might have been in it, and comes face-to-face with a leering dummy. Cue the scream.=

* Throughout the four films, Sid is the only human to ever find out that toys are alive. But the commentary reveals that there was an early draft of the film in which ''Bonnie'' found out... and it was PlayedForLaughs.
-->'''Mark Nielsen:''' We had a joke at the end of this movie at one point, where Woody got left behind (...) and then all of a sudden, the RV showed up, and Bonnie jumps out and grabs him, and goes inside. And Bonnie's dad said, "How did you know he'd be here?" And she went, "Forky told me." (laughs) So off-screen, Forky talked to Bonnie. And then at the end of that version, Woody would go like, "Listen, I'm glad you did it, but ''don't talk to Bonnie!''" And he'd go, "Why?"
