[[folder:General]]
* Most of the [[EyeCatch intermission moments]] within anime where some of the cast shouts "KONO SUBA!", which often fits with the context to the scene they were in.
* Any time that Megumin fires off an explosion is bound to be either hilarious or awesome. Or both.
* The gods in this universe vomit out sparkles of rainbows.
* Usually, when one of the characters exclaims Kazuma's name, you can hear Kazuma faintly saying "[[UnfazedEveryman Yes, I'm Kazuma]]."
* Whenever Darkness runs into danger to satisfy her masochism, which other adventurers mistake as a paragon of knightly valor.
* The rare moments where [[{{UnPaused}} the screen is paused]], like when Aqua started shaking Kazuma because he dragged her with him, or when she complains about always being chased by monsters.
* Whenever Kazuma uses Steal on a girl, [[PantyThief he'll end up taking their panties]]. A normal anime protagonist usually becomes shocked and apologizes. But not Kazuma, he'll happily ''celebrate''.
* The cartoonish "boing" sound whenever breasts are bouncing. Especially during [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H4-aVBbE-8 Darkness' encounter with]] the HumongousMecha.

[[folder:Season 1 (Anime)]]
[[AC:Episodes 1-2]]
* The series lets you know what you're in for right off the bat:
** Our protagonist Kazuma dies and is offered the opportunity to start a new life in a fantasy world like in your typical isekai, but then the beautiful goddess Aqua making the offer finds the circumstances of his UndignifiedDeath too damn funny to keep a straight face. Worse, assuming she's telling the truth, you've got to agree with her: dying while "saving" a girl from getting run over by a slow moving tractor because his sleep-deprived self confused it with a runaway truck after one too many all-nighters playing videogames, then literally pissing himself and having a heart attack from the shock alone. Even the doctors and his bereaved family were laughing at him in the hospital.
** After the above, and further annoyed by Aqua telling him to just hurry up and pick his boon to take with him to the fantasy world, Kazuma finally snaps and proves to be more than a LoserProtagonist by cleverly using the ExactWords nature of his reincarnation deal to spitefully get back at Aqua for her derision and mockery by picking ''Aqua herself'' as his boon. Not only does it works as intended, but his EvilLaugh mocking her as she's dragged with him crying and screaming by the transportation magic is a sight to behold. Say hello to (two of) our heroes, ladies and gentlemen.
--->'''Kazuma:''' It must suck to be you right now. Getting dragged away by the guy you were making fun of. ''[[[GivingSomeoneThePointerFinger chuckles as he points at her]]]'' You're coming with me and there's nothing you can do about it. ''[louder]'' I'll tap your power to live the good life! And I'll [[DoubleEntendre tap it]] all day, everyday!\
'''Aqua:''' ''[covers herself with her hands as she yelps]'' Please don't make me go with a creep like him! Pleaaase!\
'''Kazuma:''' ''[EvilLaugh loud enough to match Aqua's cries]''
* Aqua assumes an old priest is from her sect, gives him a BadassBoast... and then shamelessly begs him for money. He says he's ''not'' from that sect, he actually worships the goddess Eris (the one who let Kazuma pick Aqua as his boon) and says that since Eris is Aqua's junior, he'll give her money, then tells her she shouldn't pretend to be a goddess. Aqua slumps away, depressed after getting charity from her junior's follower.
-->'''Aqua:''' ''(near to crying)'' To think, one of my subordinate's followers took pity on me, and loaned me some money when I asked!
-->'''Kazuma:''' ''(trying to hide how amused he is)'' Yeah... ''wow''...
* Kazuma and Aqua's [[MundaneMadeAwesome epic roadworking montage]]... And Kazuma's sudden realization they are doing menial work, ''not'' adventuring. And Aqua had ''forgot'' she was supposed to defeat the Devil King to go back to Heaven.
** [[HilariousInHindsight Gets even funnier]] with the spin-off ''An Explosion on This Wonderful World!'', as it turns out there ''was'' a quest just for them, and everyone at the guild, including Megumin, was looking for them (and Aqua in particular)... [[MissedTheCall But they were so busy repairing the damage done by Megumin's explosion and doing other construction work they didn't go back to the guild until the quest was already complete]].
* Aqua's attempt against frogs can take the cake. But the second one takes the cake:
-->'''Aqua''': ''[Describes about what her technique God's Blow would do]'' '''WHOEVER IT STRIKES WILL PERISH!!!''' ''[Technique hits the frog... to no effect.]'' ({{Beat}}) ''[Makes a funny face while looking at the frog]'' Hehe... up close like this, you froggies are pretty cute...
-->'''Frog''': ''[Eats Aqua]''
-->'''Aqua''': GACK!!
* Megumin's introduction, in particular the part about the eye patch. She says that it hides a great power, but it's obviously a lie, and she quickly admits that she actually wears it because it makes her look cool, like [[{{Chuunibyou}} a true chuuni]] would. An unamused Kazuma then tried to pull it off to her distress and after Aqua's exposition, casually snaps it back to her eye, hurting her. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pd8H4_hzXg It's the delivery that sells this scene and makes it funny.]]
* After the fiasco of having Megumin in a Giant Frog slaying quest for a day, Kazuma is more than ready to split the rewards and never party up with her ever again. Unluckily for him, she sees it coming and takes advantage of passersby getting the wrong idea about the three of them to blackmail him into giving her a permanent spot in the party.
-->'''Passerby Girl A:''' Oh dear, that man is going to abandon that child!\
'''Kazuma:''' ''[stops in his tracks]''\
'''Girl B:''' Did you see the other girl there?! She's covered in slime!\
'''Girl A:''' He ''defiled'' that poor little girl and now he's throwing her away!\
'''Girl C:''' Oh my gosh. Both those girls are covered in icky goo! What kind of sick games was that pervert playing with them?!\
'''Kazuma:''' Oh, come on! It's not like that!\
'''Megumin:''' ''[chuckles ominously]''\
'''Kazuma:''' ''[ThisIsGonnaSuck expression]''\
'''Megumin:''' ''[loud and overacted]'' Don't leave me! I'll play whatever kinky games you wanna play! I'll even do the slime act with the frogs again! Just don't--!\
'''Kazuma:''' ''[covers her mouth]''\
'''Passerby Girls:''' ''[cover their ears and turn around in alarm and disgust]''\
'''Kazuma:''' ''[pleadingly]'' Alright, alright! You win! Welcome to the party!

[[AC:Episodes 3-4]]
* There is an emergency quest where all of the adventurers gather together in the face of a serious threat: ''flying cabbages''. Incredulous, [[AudienceSurrogate Kazuma]] asks what the big deal is, and the other characters give him a [[SeriousBusiness super serious explanation]] about why it's such a big deal.
* Later on, Aqua realizes that she didn't make as much money as she thought she would because she accidently grabbed lettuce instead of cabbage, so she begs Kazuma for some of his money so she can pay off her debt. He refuses, ''[[DeadpanSnarker obviously]]'', but Aqua manages to get under his skin by threatening to tell everyone about the time she heard him "rustling in the hay". Kazuma ''immediately'' folds at this.
* Megumin taking Kazuma out for daily training exercises, casting Explosion on a abandoned castle (since she needs someone to carry her after casting the spell.) This leads into a montage of Megumin blowing it up at different times of the day and then collapsing. Eventually, Kazuma got used to it and starts critiquing each blast.
** On the third day of the montage in the English dub, Megumin yells her usual "Explosion" in a hilariously deadpan manner, as if she's gotten bored of casting the spell.
* Verdia's first visit to the town is initially played dramatically, what with him being a general of the Demon Lord and all. Why did he show up? Because he lives in that "abandoned" castle that Megumin had been exploding on the regular to practice, and he's basically treating the daily massive explosion like it's someone egging his house constantly. What makes this extra amusing is that she's been doing this every day for quite a while, implying that if she had just blown up the castle once or twice it wouldn't be a big deal.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfFsfoLW9Tc The English dub]] of the scene deserves a special mention, since Creator/PatrickSeitz' vocal delivery makes Verdia sound even more hilarious than he ought to be.
--->'''Verdia:''' Every day. Every ''single day!'' Every '''''bloody damn day!''''' One of you maniacs comes to my home and hurls EXPLOSION spells at it, '''[[LargeHam AND I DEMAND TO KNOW]] ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis WHO! IT! IIIIIIIIISSSSS!!!!]]'''''\
'''Verdia:''' ''[{{Beat}}]'' What is a Megumin? Are you pulling my leg?
*** Also from the dub, Verdia's perfectly-timed FlatWhat when Darkness asks if he wants to defile her.
** The resolution to his visit as pretty good as well: after eventually getting fed up with Megumin, he places a death curse on Darkness that will kill her in a week if the party doesn't fight their way to his castle to face him. First, Darkness goes into one of her masochistic fantasies, rambling about how he's going to drag her back to his castle to do horrible things to her under the empty promise of lifting the curse, which even freaks Verdia out. Second, after a good chunk of dramatic buildup about how the party is going to go on their first real adventure to save Darkness from the curse... Aqua uses her goddess powers to dispels the curse with minimal fanfare, rendering the entire thing a massive anticlimax.

[[AC:Episodes 5-6]]
* Aqua decides to take on a lake purification quest, but needs the rest of the team to protect her from monstrous alligators while she does so. Instead of protecting her themselves, they decide to stick her in a cage and leave her in the lake. The result: [[ComedicSociopathy Aqua frantically casting Purification over and over while a bunch of the aforementioned alligators attack the cage.]] She refuses to leave the cage afterwards due to being thoroughly traumatized by the experience.
** Kazuma's narration about the cage after it has been placed in the lake hints at other motivations besides Aqua's safety, "[[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial We are not abandoning the useless goddess in the lake]]."
** The purification will take half a day by Aqua's estimation, so Kazuma tells her to let him know when she needs to use the bathroom. Aqua is scandalized and says that goddesses don't use the rest room. Megumin then says that crimson demons don't either. Then Darkness says something about crusaders, and Kazuma wonders if they use to be [[IdolSinger idols]].
* How [[TheEveryman Kazuma]] handles his duel with [[DoggedNiceGuy Kyouya Mitsurugi]], a parody of the StockLightNovelHero:
** First, Kazuma [[CombatPragmatist gets the first strike]] by drawing his sword and charging in first.
** Second, Kazuma wrestles away Gram from Kyouya with his Steal skill.
** Third, Kazuma knocks out Kyouya by [[HoistByHisOwnPetard hitting him with the flat side of his own divine sword]].
* When Kyouya's companions start calling him a cheater, Kazuma shuts them up by explaining his stance on ''[[HatesEveryoneEqually gender equality]]'' and threatens to [[PowerPerversionPotential use his Steal power on them too]], which, considering neither of them has much on them, [[OhCrap causes them to run away in terror]].
* The next day, Kyouya begs Kazuma to give Gram back, only for Kazuma to reveal that he [[ComedicSociopathy sold it]].
* Verdia comes back pissed that Megumin is ''still'' exploding his castle after warning them last time (Her "justification" being that she got addicted to it). Given that Megumin passes out every time after casting Explosion, and Kazuma had not been helping her after Verdia came the first time, he asked who the hell had been carrying her back to town. He then looks at Aqua, who looks extremely guilty. (''Her'' justification being that she wanted revenge on Verdia for the reduction in quests).
** Just the fact that when Aqua tries to whistle the suspicion away, turns out she can't even do it right!
* Verdia's summoned minions ignore the rest of the adventurers to chase after Aqua.
* Darkness tries to mourn three dead adventurers who she had been acquainted with, only to be embarrassed upon being told that Aqua anti-climatically [[DeathIsCheap resurrected them offscreen]].
* The ending of Verdia's battle. Aqua summons a flood with her "Sacred Create Water" which causes a flood, which in turn results in lots of damage to Verdia [[DestructiveSavior and the city's outer wall]]. After defeating him, the group earns a huge bounty and Kazuma starts to dream having [[HopeSpot a luxurious and comfortable life with the money]]... until he is informed Aqua's actions [[PyrrhicVictory caused huge damage]] to the city entrance and the buildings behind it, and [[YankTheDogsChain the repair bills are actually higher than the bounty prize]], meaning the group now have [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome a huge debt despite their efforts]]. Aqua trying to flee from the scene and Kazuma grabbing her by her hair is priceless.

[[AC:Episodes 7-8]]
* Kazuma wakes up with ''frozen eyelashes'' due to the winter weather.
* When he meets Eris, Kazuma [[TheRant complains]] about all the trouble he's been through since he was reincarnated.
* Kazuma calmly accepts his fate of being reincarnated in Japan... [[LettingTheAirOutOfTheBand only for Aqua's voice to butt in]], because she cast [[DeathIsCheap a resurrection spell on him]].
* Aqua and Eris get into an argument about allowing Kazuma to be resurrected in a world he wasn't born into, and Aqua gets Eris to back down when she threatens to tell everyone ''[[MemeticMutation that Eris pads her chest]]''.
* In the EyeCatch, Kazuma mentions that ''[[SkewedPriorities he's cool with pads]]''.
* In response to Aqua's nagging, [[LikeBrotherAndSister Kazuma declares that he wants to swap Aqua out for Eris]].
* [[SeriousBusiness Aqua gets extremely defensive]] when Kazuma wants to kill her snow sprite for the reward.
* Aqua questions [[FridgeLogic if snow sprites need to eat]].
* Aqua, Megumin and Darkness order [[BigEater a huge dinner]] with their reward money while Kazuma fantasizes about Eris, causing Kazuma to lament that he should have chosen to ''reincarnate in Japan'' to [[YankTheDogsChain avoid paying his debt]].
* Aqua tries to burn Kazuma's track suit to keep a fire going. In response, Kazuma threatens to burn Aqua's scarf.
* When [[JerkassGods Aqua]] is acting very menacing to [[DarkIsNotEvil Wiz]], Kazuma comments that he can't tell who's the [[OurLichesAreDifferent lich]] and who's the goddess.
** We learn about how Wiz knew Verdia. Whenever they met, he'd roll his head down the hallway and peek up her skirt! Kazuma and Aqua's reaction is [[FlatWhat priceless!]]
--->'''Verdia:''' ''[[LargeHam Strike, baby! Woooo!!!!]]''
* During Aqua's late night Turn Undead rampage though the mansion, we suddenly get a random, cheerful Nature's Beauty in the middle of it, before going right back to the rampage as if nothing happened. We also have what started the rampage, the spirits drank her sake.
* The entire PottyEmergency sequence with Kazuma and Megumin.
** Kazuma tells Megumin that she should [[JarPotty pee in a bottle]].
** Megumin forces Kazuma to stand outside the bathroom so she can pee, but she ends up having trouble due to stress. When the spirits come around the corner, Kazuma breaks down the door and drags Megumin away, half-naked.
** Megumin starts murmuring her Explosion chant in a small storage closed, only for Kazuma [[WhoWouldBeStupidEnough to chew her out]].
** Kazuma psyches himself up to fight to spirits, only to [[AntiClimax bang Aqua's head with the door]].
* It's revealed that the ghosts started haunting the mansion because Aqua got tired of taking care of Wis's exorcism duties at the graveyard and erected a magic barrier ''to save time''. Kazuma declares that they will ''not'' be [[EveryoneHasStandards taking the reward for cleaning up a mess that Aqua caused]].
* When the girls run out of firewood, Aqua tells Darkness [[BrickJoke to burn Kazuma's track suit]].

[[AC:Episodes 9-10]]
* When Aqua proudly claims that her stats were maxed out from the start, Kazuma realizes that means her intelligence will never improve no matter how much she levels up, and suffers an internal breakdown over the realization. Aqua has no idea why Kazuma was looking at her with so much pity in his eyes.
--> ''(internally)'' Poor thing! She can level up, but her intelligence will ''always stay the'' '''''same!'''''
* The plot with [[EroticDream the Succubus Café]]:
** Kazuma wonders what his new associates, Dust and Keith are so hyped about. They tell him about [[DreamWeaver an establishment run by succubi]], and swear him to secrecy so that the women don't find out. [[AllMenArePerverts Kazuma is very interested]].
** When Kazuma talks with one of the succubi, she explains that it's difficult for male adventurers to... [[MasturbationMeansSexualFrustration relieve their stress in privacy]] when sleeping in a stable. She also implies that some adventures have had... [[GroinAttack unfortunate]] [[AmusingInjuries injuries]], causing Kazuma to freak out.
** Kazuma believes that the services of the Succubus Café could potentially ''end all war''.
** Kazuma notes that some adventurers have certain kinks, such as GenderBender and LoliconAndShotacon.
** The succubus informs Kazuma that he can choose to dream of a 2-D waifu, [[PopCulturalOsmosisFailure whatever that is]].
** Kazuma asks if there is an age restriction on who can show up in an EroticDream, and [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial states]] that he is ''not'' a [[ComedicLolicon pedophile]].
** Kazuma is informed that he can't drink alcohol for the evening because he might sleep too soundly to dream. Que Darkness bringing home super-high quality wine, a special house-warming gift from her parents that make the girls experience foodgsams. So Kazuma is frustrated for two separate but related reasons.
** Kazuma decides to relax in the bath, and the next thing he knows, the lanterns are out and he sees a naked Darkness walking into the bath, so he assumes that he's dreaming.
** Kazuma has quite a bit of fun teasing [[CombatSadomasochist Darkness]], and despite her blushing and her protests, nothing she does makes Kazuma believe that [[HasAType he isn't dreaming]].
** Kazuma realizes that he wasn't dreaming when Aqua and Megumin catch a young succubus from the café, and he gets beaten up so the latter can escape.
** Later, Kazuma pretends that he was charmed to avoid damaging his reputation.
* Kazuma learns the that huge tough-looking adventurer with a mohawk has an atypical class. He's an ''artisan weaver''.
* The adventurer's guild is in crisis mode when the Destroyer approaches. They're a town-of-beginners, so they lack the heavy firepower to fight such a monster. But wait! They have "the Crazy Girl!" Yes, the "Crazy Girl" has all the heavy firepower they need! [[GotVolunteered Everyone STARES at]] "the Crazy Girl"!
-->'''Megumin''': If you're talking about me, then don't call me by that nickname! Or you'll see how crazy I am, here and now!
** Then Wiz shows up, and politely offers her assistance as an adventurer. This ''really'' perks up the background adventurers, and why shouldn't it? The "Destitute Shopkeeper" is helping them! Now, they totally have a chance at victory! Wiz's humble confusion and Kazuma's apathy, if also saying that they shouldn't [[BackhandedCompliment call her that]], are great straight-man reactions to their enthusiasm.
* When someone mentions Kyouya's absence, and how he could easily save the day, Kazuma stews in silent guilt with his eyes trailing to the side. This is the ''second'' time his "clever" theft of Gram has lead him and Axel into terrible danger by accident.
* When Kazuma converses with Darkness, it looks really heartfelt, and it shows how she has a true dedication as a knight. Yet, all it takes is one word from Kazuma to ruin it and bring it back to the realm of funny.
-->'''Kazuma''': .... [[EmbarrassingFirstName Lalatina.]]\
'''Darkness''': '''''[[SuddenlyShouting NEVER CALL ME BY THAT NAME AGAIN!!!]]'''''
* The reason every guy charged the Destroyer when it was set to self-destruct in the final episode of Season 1, instead of running away? [[AllMenArePerverts Because it would have destroyed the Succubus Shop if they hadn't destroyed it first]].
-->'''/a/ poster:''' They must protect [[http://i.imgur.com/qVNogxZ.jpg their smiles]].
** The manga version has the men rallying forth when Wiz gets involved too, and one makes an offhand comment...
--->"Thank you for always taking care of me in [[EroticDream that shop's dreams!]]"
* Reading the creator of the Destroyer's diary, they find out that instead of the malicious MadScientist who created a death machine to ravage the world, he was an idiot who got in over his head, accidentally set it to rampage indiscriminately, forgot to build an off switch and forgot to get off before getting trapped inside it forever.
* In the dub, Kazuma's frustrated on-the-spot reaction to Aqua shooting down his plan to inject Wiz with her holy power, is ''much'' stronger than what he said in the sub ("Seriously!?"). [[CurseCutShort Even if it was self cut-off.]]
-->'''Kazuma:''' ''MOTHERF-MMMMM!''
* When seemingly out of options to deal with a self-destructing Destroyer's core, Wiz cups Kazuma's face in her hands and asks if she can "suck it out of him." He says "absolutely", immediately, and mentally notes that he is not going to be a dense protagonist who asks "suck out what?" He, however, had the wrong idea of ''what'' was going to be sucked, because he soon lies mana-drained on the ground. Maybe he ''should'' have asked.
* When Megumin is recharging for a second explosion, she starts squirming and moaning. [[PowerHigh She says this will be her greatest Explosion ever, and begs for more mana, and more!]] She gets so excited that Kazuma, who is acting as a relay station between her and Aqua, gets a little uncomfortable.
* The ending of the first season, which was foreshadowed when Kazuma's says he is going to take full responsibility for everything which is going to happen. Wiz teleports the core of Destroyer to a random place, which ends up destroying a big mansion. Some thought it was Kazuma's recently acquired mansion, but it was a noble's mansion. As a result, not only did the party not receive any reward (like in the Verdia incident) but Kazuma was arrested for treason.

[[AC:Season 1 OVA]]
* Megumin slapping Yunyun's breasts while ranting on how they're the ones growing.
** The sound effect used for the slapping makes it sound like she's hitting Yunyun's face, which makes it way less sexy and way more funny.
* Aqua thinks Kazuma is going to do something horrible/perverted to her... but instead he just has her fetch him minor things. The way Aqua and Wiz react you'd think Kazuma was sending her to her death or something.
** Depending on the 'levels of affection' that Aqua feels towards Kazuma, she might wish to be at least appreciated for her physical beauty. But Kazuma is so utterly turned off by her that he sent her on humiliating fetch quests instead of sexual harassment.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Kzw_DA6p_0 Megumin's shit-eating-grin after she baited Yunyun to lose a rock-paper-scissors game, directly after she'd just finished a heartwarming speech about being best friends.]] Needless to say, Yunyun was ''not'' happy with this and desperately tries to tear Megumin's dress off by force.
* Though this borders on creepy, Kazuma's choice of words to Megumin as he begs her to wash his dingaling in the English dub comes out funnier.
-->'''Kazuma:''' There it is! Go on, get to it! Wash that ''sucker''! [...] Go on, it ain't gonna wash ''itself''!
* Kazuma makes himself at peace with himself about to expire, complete with several "confessions" to the girls, before the choker suddenly falls off... just as he wonders why, he remembers that he ''did'' make a wish before he put it on, and it was recently fulfilled. The girls are... '''displeased''' by this.
-->'''Kazuma:''' ''(with a growing YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe tone)'' Wait... my wish was to ''be comforted''?\
''({{beat}} as all parties register this sentence; the implications hit Kazuma like a ton of bricks.)''\
'''Kazuma:''' ''(mentally; shaking)'' ''Oh my god! '''I'M SO SCREWED!!'''''\
'''Aqua:''' ''(in a false sugary-sweet, friendly tone)'' Okay, you NEET. ''(picks up the choker)'' Put this on again and let's start over, shall we? If it gets stuck, we'll help you out. We are your friends, ''after all''.
** And finally, there's one more person to give Kazuma advice after all this:
--->'''Eris''': Please don't die over something silly like this again...\
'''Kazuma''': ''(mentally)'' '''''GOD, THIS SUCKS!!!'''''

[[folder:Season 2 (Anime)]]
[[AC:Opening/General]]
* The anime second season's opening doubles down on the humor in general:
** The party doing a silly dance, with various levels of enthusiasm, including Chomusuke with the most baffled expression as Megumin swings her around.
** Parodying [[CreditsRunningSequence a common scene in anime openings]], the party are enthusiastically running towards some unseen destination... only to stop, panting for breath, as everyone but Darkness is quickly winded.
*** Not to mention it's quickly revealed that they're not that far from town...
** The team then takes a break under a tree while Kazuma shows off his sword tricks only for him to get hit in the head by the swords handle! Cue Aqua having a SpitTake and laughing at his misfortune along with Megumin chuckling while Darkness looks on either worried or jealous that it wasn't her. Aqua even continues to laugh at his misfortune leading to...
** The giant worm [[RunningGag that devours the entire party whole]] and [[CoveredInGunge covers everyone in slime]]. The subsequent silly dance shows different expressions for Aqua and [[TooKinkyToTorture Darkness]], likely in reaction to this experience.
** The party's [[YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe reaction]] to the gargantuan tortoise with an equally colossal tree growing on its shell.
** Darkness' evident eagerness to send the party flying by striking a bunch of exploding rock monsters contrasts with [[ThisIsGonnaSuck the rest of the party huddled together in terror.]]
** Kazuma's horrified weeping while falling.
** Speaking of the falling scene in the opening, even the few seconds of free falling keeps the girls' reactions consistent and funny:
*** Aqua is flailing around and screaming, then opens her goddess raiment to make a chute.
*** Megumin is cool and collected until she casts Explosion, after which she free falls while passed out and limp.
*** Not to mention Chomusuke finally appears with the main group by popping out of Megumin's dress during said explosion and lands on the parachute. Which brings up question of what she experienced while hiding.
*** Darkness being Darkness, is ecstatic that she either a) actually got to hit something, or b) expects pain of some sort to follow.
* The daily-explosion routine was taken further. Eventually, after Verdia died, the castle was continuously worn down by Megumin's explosion magic, to the point that it completely collapses on itself. Then, the next explosion scene shows that the hill was blown entirely to pieces. Daily persistency aside, this is also a showcase of Megumin's constantly growing magic prowess, to the point where she can decimate entire ecosystems. 184* Kazuma ends up getting thrown in jail only to find Dust is there already. Why? Because he spent too much money and couldn't afford his debt after the payout for participating in facing the Destroyer was smaller than he expected, and he didn't want to sleep in the stables during winter. Kazuma feels better, knowing that he isn't a delinquent by trade.
** Dust is so reputed as a delinquent that his association with Kazuma is enough to be used against him as evidence of his guilt.
* Aqua's numerous failed plans to get Kazuma out of jail. On her first try, she has Megumin and Darkness cause an explosion on the outskirts of town, and then uses the distraction to climb to Kazuma's window and give him a lockpick. Except his lock is an 8-digit combination lock. The next night, she uses the same distraction, and gives him a hacksaw to saw through the window's bars... but the window's too high for him to reach. She actually thought of that, and brings him a stepping stool... but doesn't think of how to get it ''into'' the cell. So she tries asking the guards in front to give it to Kazuma as a gift.
* In Kazuma's trial, Aqua mentions that she's confident in her abilities to acquit him, [[IKnowMortalKombat because she played their 'verse's equivalent]] of ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' [[ShoutOut and]] ''Franchise/DanganRonpa''. While the prosecution is giving her opening statement, she shouts "'''''[[ThatWasObjectionable Objection!]]'''''" just because she [[IAlwaysWantedToSayThat always wanted to say that]].
* In Episode 2, the party's attempts to kill the giant toads around town are so laughably bad that Sena is left wondering how such an incompetent group of adventurers could manage to survive thus far. Taken further, then a frog grabs and devours Sena, followed by devouring Aqua. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX_h_PE5IMI Aqua constantly tried to get her head to the surface, screaming all the way, while Sena instead had orgasmic moans, and then the scene shows Aqua and Sena alternating to get out of the their respective frogs, taking turn in screaming and having an orgasm.]] (Also Megumin made up a hilarious "bop-bop-bop-bop" sound representing 'being devoured')
* Later, when the gang visits Wiz's shop,[[FunnyBackgroundEvent you can see Chomusuke fondling Wiz's breasts]].
* In Episode 2, after Kazuma makes his intention clear that he's not going to adhere to TheUnfairSex procedure (see [[Quotes/TheUnfairSex the Quotes page]]), he then ridicules Megumin's apparent 'lack of resolve', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt9a4YgREqE which backfired on him]], complete with Megumin going super ham and then trying to pull off Kazuma's towel, which would reveal his certain parts.
-->'''Megumin''': '' '''What was that!?!?''' I lack resolve, you say?? Them's fighting words! Fine, let's just get in! GET IN THE BATH ALREADY!!! Right, now stop sulking behind that towel and enter that bath together!! '''GRRRRR!!!!''' ''
** Which is followed with Kazuma making a comment that Megumin and Yunyun have different growth spurts and [[ACupAngst Megumin responded by attempting to cast Explosion in the bath.]]
** And finally, after freezing the bath door so Aqua won't see them bathing together, Kazuma lets it slip that he just didn't want Aqua to brand him a lolicon/jailbait for bathing with Megumin. Megumin... is not pleased.
--->'''Megumin''': (cracking knuckles) Why don't you explain exactly why getting into a bath with me makes you a lolicon...!?\
'''Kazuma''': Hey, wait, stop, what are you trying to do?? You're going to get branded as a female pervert! No, no! Aqua! AQUAAA!! The loli is bullying meeeee!!
** And finally, hammering it down, when they dine together, Aqua delivers the final insult... in [[GratuitousEnglish 'English']]
--->'''Aqua''': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDVA2AfWKZ8 Loli-NEET.]]
--->'''Aqua (Dubbed)''': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxtbdRcaSac Pedo-NEET.]]

[[AC:Episode 3-4]]
* Walther is so polite that Kazuma can't help but think that he'd be great for Darkness... right up until he mentions that he thinks Kazuma and Darkness are already in love. Considering her fetish, it unintentionally paints Kazuma in a bad light.
-->'''Kazuma:''' Alright, get your ass over here. I don't care if you are the landlord's son, I need to give you a good beating.
* Kazuma finally figures out that Aqua is an undead magnet and doesn't want to go near her before leaving the Keele dungeon. All the sudden, a horde of undead monsters starts to charge at them so [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga4_iy96_jQ the first thing Kazuma does is use Lurk... ON HIMSELF]], while trying to teach Aqua a lesson for her rude behavior earlier. Aqua's futile beg for help and screams also sells the scene too, especially when the Japanese version makes her screams rhyme with the TitleScream for the commercial break.
-->'''Aqua:''' ''AAAAAA!!! AAAAAA!!! '''[=KonoSubAAAAAA!!!=]'''''
** The dub also deserves an extra credit on the funniness on how Kazuma delivered the spellcasting line...
--->'''Kazuma''': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc1Uukudkqc Lllllurk...]]
* Darkness goes in an AMAZING spiel where she fervently describes her ideal man and how far her prospective fiancé is from it. "Amazing", of course, ''for all the wrong reasons'', pretty much tearing apart the cliché of a fairy tale maiden longing for a PrinceCharming with a rusty chainsaw. The anime adds Aqua and Kazuma's thoroughly incredulous and disgusted faces, respectively, and an OminousLatinChanting on top of it just for good measure. The above scene is so hilarious and well set-up, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZv0bN1BHQo that words can't even describe it perfectly]].
-->'''Darkness:''' Besides, he's far from my type of man. First, he seems to be of absolutely decent character. He never angers toward anyone. He works hard and was strong enough to achieve knighthood at the earliest age on record.\
'''Aqua:''' That sounds pretty good to me.\
'''Darkness:''' How?! If you're a noble, you should act like one, with a vulgar grin on your face at all times! What exactly is that pure, focused gaze of his?! I want something more... ''[points to Kazuma]'' Like what Kazuma always does, when he looks at me as if he's licking me all over with his gaze!\
'''Kazuma:''' I-I-I do not look at you that way!\
'''Darkness:''' ''[mockingly]'' He never angers?! ''[sweeps arm, almost hitting Aqua]'' What a moron! Using a maid's mistakes to subject her to all kinds of punishment is what nobles are supposed to do!\
''[close-up to Darkness' face]''\
'''Darkness:''' Besides, the type I like is the polar opposite of such a competent man! ''[gestures grandly]'' He's not particularly attractive and can be either scrawny or fat. ''[hugs herself]'' He needs to be weak-willed enough that, despite my love for him, he's easily strung along by another woman's affection. ''[blushes as she fantasizes]'' Someone who's in rut all year round-- the more perverse, the better! ''[opens eyes]'' A failure at life, who tries to take the easiest route possible! And if he's in debt, that'd be even better! Then he could drink all day and never work, and complain that it's society's fault he's a loser! ''[mimics swing]'' He'd throw an empty bottle at me while saying... "Hey, Darkness. Why don't you use that nasty body of yours to earn us some cash?" ''[gushes and pants]''\
'''Kazuma:''' Damn it all! This girl is completely hopeless!
** The "get me some money" line is also great in the English dub as Creator/CristinaValenzuela dips into her [[Manga/HunterXHunter Killua]] voice to deliver it.
---> '''Darkness:''' "Yo Darkness, get your fatass out on the street and bring me back my money." ''(gushes and pants)'' Ohhhh, yes, yes!!
** Although unmentioned in-universe, the joke goes one step further when you notice the ShipTease implied in the fact that Darkness' "ideal man" is basically how she sees Kazuma at that point of the story.
* Episode 4's dub somehow manages to make Darkness' orgasmic "Something crazy!" response [[CrossesTheLineTwice further cross the line into hilarity]], moreso than it already did in the sub: just as she says/draws out the last syllable before collapsing, her voice's pitch goes up so high that it ''becomes a singing note that perfectly matches the music.''

[[AC:Episodes 5-6]]
* Upon returning to Keele Dungeon (due to Aqua's casting circle), Kazuma decides to bring Darkness to traumatize her the same way he did to Aqua during his first visit. Unfortunately, since the new enemies could only do a SuicideAttack, Darkness is thrilled that she is able to hit them with her sword.
* Vanir's ideal dungeon is full of traps and demons, with him as the final boss. He plans to be defeated by a party of skilled adventurers, who then will open the treasure chest behind him and find... [[{{Troll}} A piece of paper with "You lose" written on it]]. That's how he wishes to die.
* Vanir tries to control Darkness with one of his masks, which causes her pain if she resists. Pain against '''Darkness'''. Vanir quickly realizes his mistake as Kazuma goes to erase the evidence of Aqua's magic circle (while he and Darkness were swapping control the entire time) and tries to get out, but Kazuma slaps a seal on them and keeps them that way until they can get to Aqua.
-->'''Darkness:''' ''(panting a little)'' Ahh, all the adventurers I'm friendly with are looking at me with such contempt. How rapturous!\
'''Vanir:''' I'm sensing that you're happy... which makes ''me'' concerned and uncomfortable!
* Kazuma revealing Darkness' full name, Lalatina, in public. Even in the genuine cheers of the crowd at their accomplishment, Darkness instead is fully embarrassed and wishes she could die at this point. While Aqua is trying to cheer Darkness up, Megumin can be seen tapping Darkness' shoulder from behind while blushing and holding herself from laughing. Take note that Megumin comes from a clan where everyone there have weird names.
* Kazuma's team bought a kotatsu! Unfortunately, that let Kazuma indulge in his true nature: A shut-in {{NEET}} that refused to get out of his domain (the kotatsu). He repelled every of Darkness and Megumin's attempts to get him out, with [[EveryoneHasStandards even Aqua looking visibly disgusted.]] But suddenly, ominous classic music played and Kazuma offered a truce: He has to go to the bathroom, so he requested Darkness and Megumin to lift his kotatsu to the toilet. The two instead proceeded to throw him AND the kotatsu right out of the window.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDDsDT9rOCo Kazuma's new blade.]] He tried to be cool with the sword, but it had to be cut down to a wakizashi short sword length because it bumped into a nearby sword and messes up the store and being too long to exit the store (apparently, moving sideways wasn't in Kazuma's mind before). But at least Kazuma can give it a cool name right? [[GiverOfLameNames Megumin]] then forcefully named it [[MemeticMutation "Chunchunmaru".]] What sells this further is the reaction from Aqua and Darkness, since they knew Megumin secretly wrote and pasted the talisman with this name when Kazuma wasn't watching, yet don't bother to tell him about it.
* Aqua's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVMFzfpJL_4 breakdown]] has to be [[DerangedAnimation seen to be believed]].
* Kazuma's death during the Lizard Runners quest is because he decided to strike a cool pose on top of a tree branch and fell over, hitting his head on the ground and being trampled. Even he's ashamed at how stupid a way to die it was.
* While Kazuma was chilling with Eris, Megumin did something to his body that Aqua and Darkness refuse to elaborate on. That night, Kazuma walks out of the washroom with a doodle on his stomach pointing downwards to ''[[ICallHimMisterHappy the Holy Sword Excalibur]]''. Kazuma goes on a rant only for his towel to fall down, and Aqua has a brief laugh [[TeenyWeenie at his expense]].
** Also during that scene, the way Darkness begins calmly explaining to Kazuma that Megumin is staying the night at Yunyun's place, only to open her eyes and (after registering that Kazuma's only wearing a towel) let out a high-pitched shriek and quickly bury her face in both hands. The way Creator/AiKayano makes the sudden shift in her voice just sells it.

[[AC:Episodes 7-8]]
* Aqua attempts to serve tea to Kazuma, but purifies it into hot water each time. Even so, they remain uncharacteristically pleasant. Megumin watches the whole exchange with an unsettled look on her face, but after a bit can't take it anymore and screams that they're freaking her out.
* Before a travel trip, Wiz got knocked out and was in danger of fading away. Kazuma responds by energy-draining Darkness when she's in the middle of remininscing that her father used to take her for trips when she was a child, and surprisingly Darkness chokes Kazuma afterward with an annoyed, possibly-pouting face (which is interesting, [[TooKinkyToTorture because the pain itself probably isn't the reason why]][[note]]The novel reveals that Darkness doesn't like being surprised, she'd rather be told first on what kind of pain she'll experience firsthand.[[/note]]). What actually sold this scene is the way Darkness screamed, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIK4uiW-8lE in both languages.]]
* Kazuma and Aqua debate about who gets to sit in the back of the carriage when they travel and decide to settle it with Rock Paper Scissors. Even with the Blessing spell, ''Aqua still loses all the time''. She constantly complains about it, which prompts Kazuma to give her a scathing TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, leaving Aqua in a state where she's making a sound like a sea animal cry (or a whining dog, for the dub). Eventually, as everyone is having fun on the trip on the carriage, Aqua got forgotten as she continued to sit on the back and then lay down on the back seat as if she just gave up in life.
* The scene where the party goes to the home city of the Axis Cult Arcanretia was funny in the novel, but the anime's voicework and expressions really sell it. Kazuma and Darkness are beset by various Axis Cultists trying all sorts of scams to get them to join the church. Whenever Darkness reveals that she is a member of the Eris Church, the Cultists not only walk away but spit twice for good measure!
** Kazuma begins to wonder if all the Axis Cultists are so crazy, and then looks at Darkness who was blushing over her poor treatment, and hopes everyone in the Eris faith isn't like that.
** A waitress puts a dog bowl with a bone on the floor for Darkness, and says that it is "on the house" with a pleasant smile. This prompts Darkness to suggest that they move to Arcanretia permanently. Later some kids are stoning her and when Kazuma shoos them away, she says that she didn't know they were capable of such high level play. Kazuma demands she put away the Eris faith insignia, and she refuses.
** The fact that the Axis Cult thinks of [[NiceGirl Eris]] as a "dark goddess" is worth several laughs by itself. What we have seen of Eris paints her as closer to GodIsGood than Aqua, but the Axis Cult members are acknowledged by everyone as being crazy, which makes this funnier.
** The old woman who pushes soap and detergent into Kazuma's arms goes on and on about how well they work on stains and germs, and then she says, "you can even drink it!", implying that she already does. It would explain a lot.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0Vg3m-tz1g The ending of the episode]], an example on how to make a DownerEnding actually funny and laughable. Kazuma found an innocent little girl that didn't seem like nuts unlike every other Axis Cultists. She asked him to write his name because she didn't know how it's spelled. Kazuma was about to write his name... and [[HopeSpot suddenly realized that he's been given the form paper to join the Axis Cult and nearly signed up for it.]] ''Nowhere is safe'' and Kazuma's dramatic paper-tearing and yell seals the deal, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyEKr8v8ElI "DAMN IT AAAAAALLLL!!!"]]

[[AC:Episode 9]]
* When Kazuma comes across Megumin, she's sitting there traumatized by her own off-screen 'experience' with the Axis Cult.
** If you read her side-story, the reaction is even more hilarious for two reasons. The first is that Cecily makes her very uncomfortable and the second is Megumin is the reason that all the Axis Cult members act the way they do when recruiting someone, as she taught them those techniques.
* The entire confession booth scene. The "Eris pads her chest!" chant advise that Aqua gives to one of the Axis Cultist members is funny, but what's funnier is Kazuma's 'confession' before that happens:
-->'''Kazuma''': There was this glass that my priest teammate used for party tricks. I accidentally broke it. ''(Aqua is shocked)'' Also, that said priest once possessed a rare bottle of wine, so I wonder 'How good does it taste like?' Unfortunately, I ended up finishing it since it tasted so good. So I decided to pour cheap wine into that bottle since she wouldn't tell the difference.\
'''Aqua''': ''(utterly in shock)'' What are you saying Kazuma, what is all this about!?\
'''Kazuma''': And since that said priest was giving so much trouble, I secretly post an opening for a new Eris priest in the adventurer's guild...\
'''Aqua''': ''(pulls up the confession curtain while trying to strangle Kazuma, obviously pissed)'' YOU APOSTATE!!!
** The best part is that the first two confessions are actually true.
* Kazuma was in the mixed bath when he happens to hear the conversation between Megumin and Darkness from the women's bath. Kazuma manages to hide his presence, but due to the girls luring him with some InnocentInnuendo, he was given a punch to the face by Darkness when he peeps through the wall (Also, this is one of the rare moments where Darkness actually manages to land a hit on something!) Of course, Kazuma wasn't too happy so he cast Create Water over the wall. Cue to the girls tossing [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking a countless amount of soap, buckets and Chomusuke.]] Poor cat.
* Later that day, Aqua was seen crying back at the hotel as she was kicked out for accidentally purifying the hot springs. So she tried to tell the elder priest that she's the real goddess. Unfortunately, the priest just snorts at her, much to Aqua's surprise. When Aqua finishes telling her story to Kazuma, [[CrossesTheLineTwice he snorts as well]].
* The following day, Kazuma happens to see Hans while he spews out some MadnessMantra words upon the Axis Cult members. Bonus points for Megumin being so traumatized that she spews her own MadnessMantra in sync with Hans' own words as well.

[[AC:Episode 10]]
* As the party and Wiz run away from Hans upon learning that he's a Deadly Poison Slime, Darkness is sad that they left the slime behind. Megumin warns her that the slime could actually kill her.
* Aqua tries to get the group to go back to defeat Hans because if they don't, the Axis cult might get wiped out. Due to their previous encounters with the cult, Kazuma and Megumin both think of it as a good thing.
-->'''Kazuma''': Look, let's give up on the water source. I mean, who'd actually miss the Axis cult?\
'''Aqua''': What are you saying?! The Axis Church in this town is gonna be ruined!\
'''Kazuma/Megumin''': Isn't that a good thing?
* When Hans reveals his true slime form, Darkness starts rambling on with her masochistic thoughts, much to Kazuma's annoyance.
-->'''Darkness''': What a splendid slime! Such a shame! If it weren't poisonous, I'd take it home and make it my pet!\
'''Kazuma''': Did he melt your brain?!
* When Darkness saves a little girl of the Axis cult from some of Hans's slime drops, rather than being thanked, she gets objects thrown at her for being an "evil Eris cultist". Of course, Darkness being Darkness, she gets turned on by this and as an Axis cultist sweeps her away, she lets out a high-pitched moan.
* As Hans reaches out to eat the stuff that the Axis cult threw at him, he devours the buns but he almost eats one of the soaps, the kind that he couldn't stand earlier, and avoids it while eating another bun nearby. Kazuma notes how even slimes have preferences.
* The Axis Cult's credo alone is worth a laugh.
-->"The Axis Church can get things done. And because you can get things done, even if it doesn't go well, it's not your fault!"\
"It's society's fault that things don't work out!"\
"You can run away from unpleasant things! That doesn't mean you've lost! Because, as they say, 'Sometimes running away is winning'!"\
"The answer you come to after being in doubt is usually something you'll regret, no matter what you choose! If you're going to regret it anyway, do whatever is easiest for you in the moment!"\
"Do not fear growing old! Not even God knows whether you will be happy in the future, so you should, at least, be happy now!"\
[[BrickJoke "Eris pads her chest!"]]
** The mere fact that this powers up Aqua as she's their goddess is even more hilarious.
* The way the show cuts to [[{{Bathos}} Kazuma's cartoony digested skeleton]] as Wiz, Megumin, and Aqua are each having their [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome moments of awesome]].
* When Kazuma meets up with Eris again after being eaten by Hans, he is still a skeleton after being [[StrippedToTheBone digested to the bone]]. You can see Eris' confusion.

[[AC:Season 2 OVA]]
* The party gets roped into exploring a dungeon and clearing out the golems inhabiting it. Within, they discover a diary of a previous inhabitant, who turns out to be another Japanese person who was transported to this world. It details his ability to create anything, albeit restricted by the strength of his emotions, yet he has not been able to produce anything capable of defeating the Demon Lord. After months of anguish, the inhabitant has given up on trying to defeat the Demon Lord, reverting to his NEET ways and simply using his powers to create the things he wants to create, including a giant mecha and gynoids. Kazuma eventually comes to the conclusion that he's also the madman behind the creation of the Destroyer.
** The BrickJoke that the left-behind gynoid was a dominatrix created to cater to his desires: "Oh, by the way: I'm a masochist." Yeah, Kazuma, perhaps you should've let Darkness go through with it instead...
*** Kazuma wanting to open up the door he thinks the gynoid is behind is a moment in of itself. [[BlatantLies He claims it's because they can't leave a dangerous golem lying around since it could go on the attack]], while it's clear he just wants a RobotGirl maid. Aqua, [[SmartBall in a surprising moment of intelligence]], [[DumbassHasAPoint warns exactly what will happen if he opens the door]]; something dangerous will come out, Darkness will squirm, Aqua will cry, Megumin will use her explosion spell and destroy the ruins despite Kazuma's attempt to stop her, and then they will get hit with a bill from the guild from destroying the ruins. [[JerkassHasApoint She was right]].
*** Though Aqua doesn't help her case in the following scene. There is an obvious button to release the gynoid, Megumin wants to push the button because she feels compelled as a crimson demon to push any button she sees, Kazuma stops her because he wants to push it so the gynoid will see him as her master, and Aqua proceeds to push the button for no good reason.
** During the journal sequence, savvy viewers will likely be repeatedly thinking "[[OhCrap oh no]]" with increasing intensity until TheReveal.
** Kazuma's choice of words when he puts two and two together:
---> '''Kazuma (Japanese):''' [[GratuitousEnglish OH MY GOD!!!]]\
'''Kazuma (English):''' It's the ASSHOLE!!!
* And then there's the ending, where Kazuma finds out the unpleasant truth: Luna paid his "fan" to flatter him and entice his group to do more quests. Kazuma's reaction is exactly as expected ("Steal!"), but from the sidelines, Aqua/Megumin/Darkness are all red-faced from holding back laughter, saying that tomorrow they'll ''have'' to be nice to him after all this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Legend of Crimson (Movie)]]
* The movie starts off with an idyllic scene, then a colossal explosion in the distance... followed by a failed quest notification. What was supposed to have been a simple fishing expedition ended in complete and utter disaster as [[EpicFail Aqua is somehow tied to a boat and Darkness is devoured by tuna, leading to Megumin completely re-arranging the local ecosystem.]]
** In the dub, Darkness has only one thing to say to being devoured: ''"Oh, how gloriously '''slimy!'''"''
* When Wiz teleports the group to the Crimson Demon village, the next shot has Kazuma running away for dear life from a huge group of [[BlackComedyRape thirsty, amorous lady orcs]]. After Yunyun saves him, we see Kazuma lying on Aqua's lap, sucking on his thumb while the latter comforts him.
** Immediately before the scene of the aftermath of what happened, a quest card seen in the anime pops up saying "[[CrossesTheLineTwice Kazuma was psychologically scarred]]."
** Before Yunyun saves him, Kazuma screams for Aqua to save him from the lady orcs.
** What makes this even better that Darkness notes that Orcs are supposed to be the enemies of female knights such as herself, especially the males assuming that they should start chasing her... and then [[HeroicBSOD immediately stops running, collapses, and starts rolling down a hill]] when Megumin reveals that all the males are dead.
* Shortly before the party arrives at the Crimson Village, four others teleport in to save them from monsters, calling in true chunni fashion how they'll suffer various fates. However, when all four use the exact same spell (Light of Saber), Kazuma mentally calls BS on how their speeches didn't match up with their magic use.
* It turns out that all the stuff in the letter about Yunyun's father passing on was simply because he can't write a normal letter, and it's supposedly a traditional greeting among the Crimson Demons. What makes it even better is that the reason they can't destroy the Devil King's fortress is because ''they're not sure whether to destroy it or leave it as a '''tourist attraction'''''.
-->'''Kazuma:''' Yunyun, can I punch your dad in the face?
-->'''Yunyun:''' Go ahead.
* Despite the miscommunication, the part about the attacking Devil King forces was actually true. Except that ''[[MookHorrorShow they're]]'' the ones that are scared because [[CurbStompBattle the Crimson Demons are raining unholy hell upon them.]]
** Yunyun's father even contemplates whether the "light show" will attract tourists.
* When Aqua points out to a run-down building that she assumes to be Megumin's stable, Megumin corrects her and says it's her house, to her surprise.
* Komekko's first line when she sees Megumin return home while on Kazuma's back?
-->'''Komekko:''' ''* takes a deep breath*'' Daaaad! Megumin's back and she snared a maaaaan! ''*running back into the house*''\
'''Kazuma:''' Hey, little missy! Could we perhaps discuss this!?
** And the English Dub version...
--->'''Komekko:''' ''*inhales profusely*'' Hey, Dad! Megumin's back and she snagged herself a ''maaaaaaan!'' ''*runs back inside*''
--->'''Kazuma:''' Wait, you little--! No one snagged anybody!
* After being questioned about his and Megumin's relationship, Kazuma simply retorts that they're simply friends. Hyoizaburoo suddenly snaps and attempts to flip the table, only for his wife to restrain him.
** Based on Yuiyui's dialogue, ''this wasn't the first time he flipped a table and broke it.''
** [[FunnyBackgroundEvent Komekko's expression]] while this reverse tug-of-war is going on.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21o3AAgEonw During the first night,]] Yuiyui intentionally ''locks'' Kazuma and Megumin in the same room together so they make out. After much contemplation, Kazuma tried to play it cool... only to eventually go ham at the prospect and boasts to Megumin that he got her parents' approval (there's also a shot to his crotch too). Unfortunately, Megumin predicted that and escaped through the window and opting to spend the night at Yunyun's house, all while bellowing '''"DEATH TO PERVEEEERRTTSS!!"'''. Once again, texts alone wouldn't do justice to this glorious HamToHamCombat that suddenly happened, check on the link above to see how it was acted.
** And the next morning, Aqua and Darkness caught up to this and pretended to act like nothing happened... all while [[MaliciousMisnaming intentionally misnaming Kazuma]] as derogative nicknames like 'Scumzuma', 'Kreeperma', etc etc...
* When Sylvia, the Demon King general, restrains Kazuma in between her breasts, Kazuma asks why is something pressing against his butt. Her answer?
-->'''Sylvia:''' Because something ''' ''IS!'' '''[[note]]Sylvia is a chimera, a creature that's composed of several others, including men and women, hence her answer.[[/note]]\
'''Kazuma:''' ''' ''NOOOOOOOOOO!'' '''
** Even better is that she drops the fact that she's also part-man before this scene.
** To double the humor, the "Kazuma was psychologically scarred" card comes back.
** Kazuma's first line after this scene?
--->'''Kazuma:''' Cut it out! Get your dick off of me! You wanna die?!
* After accidentally revealing that he's familiar with the device needed to open the vault to the secret weapon she's after, Sylvia decides to play the seduction card to entice Kazuma into opening the door, boasting about her amatory skills... but poor Kazuma, stil scarred from the previous accident, takes her attempt as a threat and promptly unlocks the door before she can make good on her word, leaving the chimera speechless for how fast he folded.
* How does Sylvia die? By Megumin's little sister [[KillSteal stealing Kazuma's kill]]! Bonus points for it happening in the middle of Kazuma's BadassBoast.
* When Eris sees what's possibly left of Kazuma, she feels so disturbed that she pukes out sparkles of rainbow.

[[folder:Season 3 (Anime)]]
[[AC:General]]
* Before the first verse of the opening, Kazuma's party are racing on their journey when they get ambushed by giant toads.
* The ending ends with the family of giant toads attacking Kazuma and his party, right after they returns their tadpod child back to them.

[[AC:Episode 1]]
* The anime starts with Kazuma writing a letter to his parents about his deeds and how he's somehow the most popular guy in the world, surrounded by ladies who want him to share his story. Until someone gets too aggressively pushing their 'something' from behind to Kazuma's vital parts. Then Kazuma realizes that it's '''[[{{Hermaphrodite}} Sylvia]]''', who [[UnsettlingGenderReveal psychologically scarred him back then.]]. It turns out to be a dream, but we're also treated to Kazuma's CatapultNightmare accompanied by one of the best, most hilarious blood-curling screams of terror he ever had. Kazuma then spends a majority of the episode being haunted with Sylvia merely stating that she's doing that on purpose.
* Near the end of the first chapter (of Volume 5), the party comes across a monster that disguises itself as a cute-looking girl, fittingly named the "Tranquility Girl". In summary, it's a walking WoundedGazelleGambit that doesn't physically attack, but instead guilt trips adventurers into protecting it forever; once they die from malnutrition, they get absorbed as the monster's food. Despite the fact that the monster offers high XP (Megumin just made a crack about Kazuma leveling up slowly), they decide against killing it because apparently they were the first humans the monster ever talked to. Realizing that the friendless and desperate Yunyun would be following them to the Crimson Mage village (and thus would be more likely to get sucked into the trap), Kazuma goes back and attempts to plead with it... only to find it doing the exact same "You were the first human I talked to" shtick to a wandering lumberjack who runs off in shame and drops her act. Kazuma is pissed.
-->'''Tranquility Girl (talking to itself):''' Ah, I failed again! That lumberjack looked meaty, and would've been great fertilizer. Damn it, there's no fertilizer coming ... it's cloudy, but I guess I can photosynthesize a little. What a pain...\
''(Kazuma, who's snuck up on the monster by using Lurk, waits for it to turn around. The monster then starts sweating bullets, realizing that [[OhCrap it's been caught in the act.]])''\
'''Tranquility Girl:''' C-could you pretend you didn't hear what I said just now...?\
'''Kazuma:''' So you ''could'' speak fluidly, but you played me like a damn ''fiddleeeeeeeeeee?!''
** Kazuma kills the monster, and returns with an incredibly smug look on his face. When the party asks what happened, he not-so-subtly hints that he did the deed. A beat... and then Aqua and Megumin burst into tears, since they hadn't seen what he just saw.
--->'''Aqua:''' You looked refreshed, what happened? What did you say to that girl? And why did you have to go back anyway?\
'''Kazuma:''' ''(show them his adventurer card)'' Look everyone! [[HintDropping I raised three levels in one shot! This way, I would be of some use after going to Megumin's place!]]\
([[{{Beat}} A long silence as the three girls realize what Kazuma did.)]]\
'''Aqua:''' WAAAAAAAH! Kazuma, you demon! You evil demon!! Even [[ArchEnemy Vanir]] is cuter compared to you!\
'''Megumin:''' [[ItsAllMyFault I-it's all my fault]] ... all because I mocked him since I had raised so many levels! He laid his hands on that child because I agitated him ... and I only did that because of my own arrogance!\
'''Darkness:''' ''(pained and serious)'' It must be painful, right? But you fulfilled your obligation as an adventurer... I'm sorry to have left such an unpleasant task to you.\
'''Kazuma:''' ''(narration)'' I spent an hour explaining what happened to them...
** The anime adaptation has the Tranquility Girl tsk-ing between words.
* Upon finding a mallet the spawns gold coins, Kazuma is in such high spirits that Sylvia is no longer able to haunt him.

[[AC:Episode 2]]
* Darkness lends some of her dresses to Aqua and Megumin in preparation for the meeting with Princess Iris. While Aqua simply points out that Darkness' dresses are too baggy for her since Aqua has a slimmer body, Megumin's dress just falls off and she requests a smaller one. Darkness then awkwardly says that that dress was from when she was ''younger'' than Megumin is now, pressing the latter's BerserkButton and prompting her to lunge at Darkness with murderous intent.

[[folder:Light Novel]]
[[AC:Volume 6]]
* Kazuma has had a habit of dying in completely stupid ways but this moment takes the cake. He dies to ''Kobolds'', creatures that are effectively grinding fodder for players to level up easier.

[[AC:Volume 7]]
* Volume 7 is a largely dark chapter that focuses more on the tragic side of Konosuba. Doesn't stop, or maybe ''because'' of that, Vanir shapeshifting into Darkness to troll Alderp and revealing he orchestrated the events of the volume from the start from being funny. It helps that Alderp is a [[AssholeVictim recurring antagonist with very little redeeming qualities]].
** Volume 7 also has a funny moment where Kazuma manages to recreate a crude representation of dynamite. Megumin's reaction? She ''grabs it from Aqua's hand and chucks it out the window'' because it's not real explosion magic.
** At the start of an infiltration mission, Aqua casts a bunch of buff spells on Kazuma, and one turns out to be solely for ''making him a better entertainer''. It sounds useless, until he realizes [[spoiler: it can be used to mimic any voice he knows]] - and then he milks it for everything it's worth, and it is ''glorious''.
** Aqua ''celebrating Alderp's wedding'' and flat-out asking Darkness if she ''really'' wanted to marry him while insulting him the entire time. And, in the manga adaptation, Alderp's face during all this and especially when he's told ''how'' she sidestepped him pre-emptively banning Kazuma's party from the wedding (Darkness' party had the only Archpriest around celebrate).

[[AC:Volume 8]]
* Much of it, but Kazuma and living armor Aigis bonding over their shared lust for the beauty pageant contestants (despite said pageant being a trap by the former to lure out and capture the latter) takes the cake.

[[AC:Volume 9]]
* When the party interrogates Megumin with a lie-detecting bell:
--->(...)"This bell isn’t broken, is it?”(...)
** And then in came Aqua with the non sequiturs.
--->'''Aqua:''' “Hey, Kazuma. I’ve been thinking this for a while now, but you’re such a kind and wonderful person. I’m really grateful to have you in my life.”
--->'''Kazuma:''' “Oh? What’s all this? I’ve been privately thinking I’ve gotten pretty popular with the ladies. Are you hot for me now, too? Shower me with all the compliments you want; you won’t get any money out of m—”
--->Ding, ding.
--->Aqua nodded in satisfaction at the jingling magical instrument. “Sounds good. The bell’s working fine.”

[[AC:Volume 10]]
* In the previous volume, Kazuma receives a letter from Iris (actually 'steals' the letter when Darkness read and badly hid the fact it wasn't from Iris). What makes him really accept it is the fact she's going to Elroad to meet Prince Revi for an arranged marriage, which he was so pissed off that he ripped the letter and tries to conduct a plan to threaten him to not marry her. Luckily both Darkness and Megumin reject his idea but Aqua agrees with his plans since he's using the Demon King's army name as a scapegoat.
** Upon arriving at the capital, Claire, the person who hated Kazuma at Volume 6, somehow goes 180 on him since he came at the right time. She then passes him a bag of forbidden poison as a gift to Prince Revi. Upon realizing it, Kazuma quickly tosses the bag onto the floor, knowing her scapegoat plans. Guess she isn't the only one who have the same idea. However upon both realizing that they have the same goal into not letting Iris marries Prince Revi, both forms a [[EnemyMine truce, knowing what's the stakes.]]
* After the above, Darkness tries to tie him up in his bed for three days. Unfortunately, she [[DidNotThinkThisThrough failed to account for when Kazuma needed to go to the bathroom]], which results in Aqua catching them in a, shall we say, [[NotWhatItLooksLike compromising position]].
** It is eventually revealed that Darkness was doing this at the ''request of the capital itself''. When she fails, she and Rain discuss drugging Kazuma so that he can't take on the job. So at the first night at Elroad, she decides to spike a bottle of wine with sleeping drugs, wear a sexy nightgown and tries to make Kazuma drinks it. Sadly her [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial badly acting performance]] doesn't fool Kazuma and manages to fool Megumin, who just happen to hear the loud noise, that she's trying to amuse herself.
* After having enough of Prince Revi belittling them, Kazuma suggests that they should just bury him alive. Iris quickly disagrees because doing so [[PragmaticVillainy would get rid of their chance to get the defense funding back]]. Kazuma inwardly remarks that his "cute little sister has grown properly".
** Hell, Prince Revi is such a spoil brat that he underestimate Kazuma as his 'weak brother' (due to Iris calls him 'Onii-chan'). After multiple fail attempt to ask Revi for additional fundings, Revi suggest that Kazuma's group to relax at their casino, Kazuma gleefully accepts it. Days later... Revi regrets his decision and begs them to leave since Kazuma manages to bankrupt the casino.

[[AC:Volume 11]]
* Upon returning back to the house Kazuma and Aqua quickly get into a fight over him not coming back to the mansion. Megumin and Darkness take pity on him, while Aqua believes he's the kind of scum to [[FakingAmnesia fake amnesia]] and banishes him from the house. After several fail attempts, Kazuma decides to threaten her that he has one more trick up his sleeve that it will sure makes her cry. Aqua doesn't believe him until the following day she did since she has forgotten that Kazuma's the owner of the mansion and thus brings in the police to arrest her.
** What makes this even funnier is that while all this is happening, Kazuma has the personality of someone who ''knows'' he's done no wrong and he makes sure Aqua knows about it after he's won. Cue Aqua restoring his memories and him realizing that every accusation Aqua flung at him (barring faking amnesia) was completely and utterly true. Five minutes later, Kazuma's facade crumbles and he begs for forgiveness.
* Remember the Tranquility Girl that Kazuma kills back at Volume 5? The guild decides to leave the task to his group into killing the Tranquility Princess, a sexier and more matured version. Only this time... let's just say that they got 'hurt' by the Tranquility Princess' words during her final moments.
** Just before he kills the Tranquility Princess, his party tries to intervene. Because they have the lie detecting device, what ensues is a battle of wits with both the Tranquility Princess and Kazuma using ExactWords to make each other sound worse. However, there is one moment when the lie detection device goes off.
--->'''Kazuma:''' Even I'm not low enough to be attracted by the bosom of a monster.\
(The bell rings and Kazuma notes how the looks of his party became unbearable).

[[AC:Volume 12]]
* Kazuma and Megumin have different ideas on what they should do in a relationship.
-->'''Megumin:''' Why don't we say what we are thinking at the count of three? One, Two...\
'''Kazuma:''' Make children\
'''Megumin:''' Go on a date.
** Which is then immediately followed by Megumin remarking that she wouldn't mind a ShotgunWedding and it is actually quite fitting considering the two of them.
* Darkness' AttemptedRape on Kazuma. It might have been PlayedForDrama if Darkness wasn't so clumsy and inexperienced that it makes the whole thing [[CrossesTheLineTwice cross the line twice]]. Kazuma goes from desperately pleading to her not to do this to actually scolding her and giving her advice on how to rape him better. Predictably it ends with Megumin and Aqua bursting through the door with Megumin looking ''displeased'' to say the least.

[[AC:Volume 14]]
* In the epilogue, Kazuma has a private talk with the new priest in town, Serena, who spins a sob story about how the Demon King is actually a TragicMonster (and a girl) and that Kazuma might be TheChosenOne. At the end of it all though, they run into Wiz, who obliviously reveals that "Serena" is actually the Demon General Celestina and a dark priest who's known for schemes and infiltration. Celestina desperate tries to deny the claims and shoos Wiz off by using [[ReviveKillsZombie Heal]] on her, which doesn't work since Kazuma knows Wiz. She desperately tries to revise her story only for Vanir to show up and blackmail her into buying his useless merchadise or he'll reveal her plans and identity to the whole town.

[[AC:Volume 15]]
* The entire HumiliationConga of Celestina, the Demon King's Dark Priestess. Celestina was sent by the Demon King to find out what has happened to his other generals, including the fallen Angel Duke (who was killed by Wiz in Vol 13). She appears in Volume 14 and decides to ruin Aqua's reputation. The only problem was thanks to Vanir and Wiz, her identity was exposed to Kazuma by accident. She manages to turn Kazuma into her puppet, forcing Kazuma to worship the Dark Goddess of Puppetry and Vengeance, Regina. Unfortunately, she makes three mistakes. 1) Kazuma manages to trick her into forcing him to go by his own desires. (mostly perverted) 2) Her powers are weakened due to Kazuma worshiping Regina since previously she was the only one. And 3) Celestina underestimates Kazuma, thinking he's isn't a huge threat at all.
** To summarized, not only Kazuma refuse to do any work but only doing his perverted desires (E.g: Fondling her boobs and seeing her panties), Celestina's reputation was ruined, humiliated and nearly gone broke during her time with him. Giving up, Celestina finally decides to return Kazuma to his party and [[AintTooProudToBeg begs to use the Anti-Puppet potion]] he passes to Aqua. Unfortunately since Aqua kept her promise to Kazuma if something happens, [[TooDumbToLive she attacks her]] before she was restrained. After curing Kazuma, he decides to force Celestina into drinking Level Reset potion to make sure her powers are weakened. Lesson learn of the day: Never underestimate Kazuma.

[[AC:Volume 16]]
* To cap off Celestina's HumiliationConga, a recently escaped Celestina ends up being held up on her way back to the Demon Lord's Castle by a bunch of Axis Cultists sexually harassing her. When Kazuma's party (minus Aqua) runs into her on the was to the Demon Lord's Castle themselves, she refuses to answer their questions since she's confident her [[AttackReflector Curse of Vengeance]] will protect her. However, she makes the mistake of badmouthing and lamenting not killing Aqua, which upsets the Cult. She realizes far too late that [[OhCrap she just mocked and threatened a goddess right in front of her devoted (and infamously crazy) flock]].
** Under the threat of the Axis Cult, Kazuma interogates Celestina about the Demon Lord's army and castle. However, she tries drawing the line at talking about the Demon Lord himself. At that moment though, Zesta has a "divine revelation". Since Celestina's Curse of Vengeance reflects any pain she feels, [[BlackComedyRape then if they deflower her, then they'll be able to experience it for themselves]]. Celestina naturally gets ''really'' desperate and spills the beans in exchange for a way to get the Cult to back off.
** And to top everything off, after Kazuma gets all the information he can out of Celestina, he reveals that the only way to get the Axis Cult to spare her is to convert to the Axis Cult.

[[AC:Consulting With This Masked Devil!]]
* After Aqua causes a bunch of trouble and accidentally puts Wiz and Vanir even further in the red, Kazuma comes up with a way for Aqua to make it up to them: by having her sit inside a kiddy pool while they dump water on her, so she can convert it to holy water and they can sell it. Where it becomes hilarious is Vanir marketing the holy water as "Goddess Broth", much to Aqua's annoyance.
* Chapter 3 sees a rare instance of Vanir holding the IdiotBall, as he's somehow convinced by Wiz not to use his power of foresight to get close to Luna. His attempt at getting her attention amounts to bringing her a fresh monster corpse as a present, reasoning that since she pays so much money for monster corpses (i.e., as quest rewards), she would be delighted to receive one for free. She isn't.
** Vanir acts as the Adventurer's guild receptionist for a day. When two adventurers refuse the 30-day community service for using combat magic inside the city, Vanir decides to punish them with a demonic curse... which forcibly [[GenderBender swaps their genitals with those of the opposite sex]] for thirty days. All of the adventurers treat this as a FateWorseThanDeath, and start becoming much more cooperative.
** Vanir's plans for Luna ultimately involve him leading her on to believe that he's interested in her, only to publicly reject her in front of everyone in the guild so he can taste everyone's dark emotions. Everyone chews him out for how depraved this is. [[EveryoneHasStandards Even the succubi]] call him out for being [[{{Irony}} inhumane]].
* In Chapter 4, a ProtectionRacket known as the "Yatagarasu" go around Axel harrassing businesses to pay for their "protection". But when they head to [[MoneyDumb Wiz's shop]], they feel so bad for her that [[EveryoneHasStandards they leave some food and cash for her]] before leaving.
** Later, Wiz and Vanir come across a group of Yatagarasu thugs harrassing a restaurant by loitering around saying they aren't sure what to order. Wiz suddenly stands up and rushes over, and [[ComicallyMissingThePoint politely recommends her favorite meal set]]. Vanir has to pull her aside and explain how a protection racket works, but she's still pretty sure that they were just unsure of what to order.
** The Yatagarasu display their "protection" of a business with a sticker with a three-legged crow. Aqua, not understanding what is going on, goes around town removing the stickers from all the businesses, seemingly thinking the problem was that they were going around town committing vandalism with their stickers.

[[AC:An Explosion on this Wonderful World!]]
* While Megumin's first use of Explosion to wipe out a horde of winged monsters is easily a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome, there is still a funny aftermath moment from Komekko, who saw the horde as [[ExtremeOmnivore a possible food source for her family]].
-->'''Komekko:''' She blew up all the chickens!
* Arnes approaches Megumin, intent on reclaiming Chomusuke after Megumin had already adopted it. Megumin refuses to give up the newest member of her family, but immediately changes her tone when offered 300,000 eris.
* Turns out the magic bracelet that Arnes bought from Megumin's parents is actually magic. It's a cursed item, though, and it attracts worthless men to her. Naturally, [[{{NEET}} Bukkororii]] is the first one to show up after this fact is revealed.
* Megumin is given temporary lodging and a meal at the Axis church, but the clergy gawking over her for being a young girl ''really'' ticks her off. Not helping matters is that the clergy is forbidden from being near young children, giving hints to the extent of their depravity.
-->'''Megumin:''' The next person to say "loli" is going to catch these hands!
* Megumin assists Zesta with recruitment, and teaches him a few artificial scenarios to get people into the cult. Zesta screws up the first two, and with the third, she runs into Yunyun of all people, who is outright bristling beneath the surface at finding her frenemy caught up with the Axis Cult's antics.
** These scenarios and the people she tried them on would be [[CallForward the same townsfolk and methods used to dupe Kazuma into the cult in the future]].
** The situation ends with Megumin, upset with being talked to for public disturbance reports due to Zesta not following the plans she makes, telling him that she's going to do the next attempt alone. Zesta decides that it's only fair that he [[TemptingFate picks the next mark]]. Yunyun, the mark randomly chosen by him, is able to see through Megumin's lies fairly easily and, in the animated adaptation, responds by rolling her down the street [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext for some reason]].
* When Zesta is arrested, Megumin is keen to stand up for him, wanting him to have a fair trial at least. When she learns that he's previously been arrested for violation of public decency and sexual harassment, she doubles back on her stance and lets them proceed with his arrest.
* Just as Megumin is about to leave Arcanretia, Cecily gives her a parting gift... which is a large stack of Axis cult recruitment forms. Megumin slaps Cecily's face with the stack.
* Megumin fantasizes about her ideal party: "A reliable, courageous leader, a sturdy front-line fighter, and a benevolent healer." [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor She'll get that]] [[ExactWords party, alright...]]
* During the final confrontation with Arnes, Yunyun starts praying any deity she can for help, "even Aqua". Aqua answers her prayer... By getting summoned to Axel at that precise moment, distracting Arnes and giving Megumin a chance to fire off Explosion.
* Megumin makes a big show of introducing herself loudly enough to attract the attention of everyone in the adventurer's guild hall... only to realize that the place is empty since it's still too early.
* When Hoost meets Megumin and Yunyin near Axel, he recognizes them as Crimson Demons and does a traditional Crimson Demon introduction, which includes a goal of " being employed by a certain kid" (Komekko). The girls run off in fright, baffling Hoost.
* With Hoost being sighted, everyone realizes they need the help of that weird archpriest from the Axis Cult who's been around lately to take on such a powerful demon... And then realize ''she's not been at the guild hall in days''. Turns out, it was Aqua and [[MissedTheCall they need her right at the time she and Kazuma are busy as road workers]], [[NiceJobBreakingItHero partly because they were fixing the damage done to roads by Megumin's daily explosions]].
** The many attempts at tracking her down. Especially because Megumin and Cecily succeed, ''twice''... But Megumin can't believe the vulgar woman she found can be an archpriest and doesn't even speak to her, and when Cecily feels her presence at a pub Megumin rejects the idea an archpriest would go into such a place. Thus the adventurers have to take on Hoost without her.
