* The AprilFoolsDay episode is Season '''1''', Episode '''4'''. Replace the words ''"Season"'' with ''"Day"'' and ''"Episode"'' with ''"Month"''.
* Jasmine Lee being noted as the most accomplished Te Xuan Ze in history in "Monster Con" may be partly because she's likely had one of the longest tenures as the Protector; the fact that the human lifespan has increased over the centuries could also have something to do with it, Jasmine's predecessors may not have lived as long as her even in the best circumstances. Not that Jasmine isn't a badass and capable Te Xuan Ze in her own right, it's just that she's probably had more time to have adventures to grow her legend, especially if the generational skip that happened with her son is a rare occurrence.
** Fridge-Heartwarming: This adds a whole new meaning to Jasmine's words in "Little Big Mah" when she reasons with Juniper why she'd rather go back to being an old woman than have a second chance to grow up to be an archeologist. As much as she wanted to live out her dream, her lifetime truly has been remarkable if she managed to hold down the fort and build one of the greatest Protector legacies in the magic world. "I want to be that woman again" indeed.
* As seen with Kai Yee and mentioned below, the power of the Te Xuan Ze apparently can't be taken back once someone of June's bloodline is given it. This seems like an oversight on the Elder's part, but if you look at June and Jasmine's relationship as student and teacher it makes a certain sense that the former Te Xuan Ze needs to be able to interact with the magical world and even take to the battlefield if the new Protector is overwhelmed like in "Monster Con." If Jasmine had lost her powers the same time June was given hers, then she wouldn't have been able to save her, Ray Ray and Monroe from the demons attacking her home and being cut off the magic world would make it harder to teach June (Monroe does a lot of teaching, granted, but for Te Xuan Ze exclusive trials and rituals Jasmine takes the lead for June.) Yes, Kai Yee remains a dangerous threat but the benefit of an experienced Te Xuan Ze instructing their successor out-weighs the risk of a turncoat Protector in a "it's not a bug, but a feature" sort of way.
* Going by some Fridge Brilliance from this show's Disney counterpart ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong'' about TheChosenOne and their biological families, namely that Jake Long was chosen as the American Dragon because he was the most mature of his relations (relatively speaking, anyway) and had the right attitude for being what is basically a magical cop, look at what we see of June and Jasmine's relatives in "Party Monsters;" Jasmine's sisters are snippy and unsupportive with Jasmine's reactions to them implying they've always been like this (certainly knocking them out of the running for the Te Xuan Ze in favor of Jasmine) and June's young adult cousins Mitch and Lisa are both shallow people obsessed their car and modeling career, respectively. Contrast Jasmine and June who are genuinely caring people that also have a healthy sense of adventure and then look at Jasmine's son Michael who's a mature but rather milquetoast individual that definitely wouldn't have committed to the Te Xuan Ze lifestyle and his sons, while growing quite a bit during the present of the show, were a hyper-active wrecking ball and a sulky teen that didn't do anything except watch tv at the time June was chosen. June was more mature than either of them at eight years old and the obvious choice to replace the aging Jasmine just as Jake was fit to be the first American Dragon because [[CharacterDevelopment he and June actually recognize when they've done wrong and will try to be better]], while everyone else that could have taken the mantles were too self-absorbed to recognize they ''needed'' to change.
* The forcefield locking June in seems excessively cruel by modern standards, but consider that the Magical Elders and Te Xuan Ze have been around for centuries at the least; since humans didn't really travel that much until the twentieth century barring permanent immigration to other countries, concepts like vacations and June's dream of traveling to space are relatively new in human history and the Elders, well, they're pretty darn old as the name implies and past Te Xuan Zes may have been content to live in one place their entire lives. This could be why Jasmine is so determined to free June despite being respectful of the Elders in all her interactions with them; it's a bit of a Wild Mass Guess, but it's entirely possible Jasmine is seeking a way to break the force field with their blessing since they were unable to take Kai Yee's powers away and had to settle for imprisoning him, maybe the force field is a similar situation? Which leads to FridgeHorror since the Elders can ''rewind time'' when asked to by the Te Xuan Ze, how ''strong'' is the force field that they can't do anything about it (and since it's meant to keep the Te Xuan Ze contained, it's probably ridiculously powerful to being with?)
* It's shown that powerful magical beings can temporarily substitute for the Te Xuan Ze as shown with Ashley taking over for June for a day, June hiring security trolls and Monroe's suggestions to Jasmine in "''Adventures in Babysitting''" to get help due to her age. It would seem to contradict the idea of the Te Xuan Ze post being a semi-permanent and singular position, but realistically speaking even the most dedicated Te Xuan Ze won't be available all the time due to various things like illness, injury or, for example, Jasmine giving birth to Michael. June herself has her team of her brothers and Lila in addition to Monroe which pays off big time in the SeriesFinale when June isn't available due to being transformed into a monster, so she could be seen as bucking the InUniverse trend of the lone Te Xuan Ze against the world much like her inspiration Buffy Summers did in her own show.

* In "Dog Show Afternoon", June was about to leave for vacation and her family was going to depart by plane. Then at the end of the episode, we learn that Juniper physically cannot leave Orchid Bay due to her status as the [[TheChosenOne Te Xuan Ze]], with an impenetrable force field preventing her from leaving at all. Had the [[MonsterOfTheWeek Bombat]] never gotten released, June most likely would've left for that trip and would've met a [[CruelAndUnusualDeath very unfortunate end]] once the plane passed the force field...
** The force field doesn't prevent June from traveling to other dimensions and planes of existence, just from ordinary travel past the outskirts of Orchid Bay which made it as big a surprise to the viewers as to June when it first aired. But June has been the Te Xuan Ze for three years at the start of the show as she gained her powers at age eight; assuming the forcefield started working as soon as June got her hair stripe and there wasn't a "grace period" where June could still come and go from her hometown without being stopped, that means the Lees haven't left Orchid Bay in all that time (or didn't take June with them at least.) The question is... ''how''? Did they only vacation locally like in "''Feets Too Big''" where June was still away from the forcefield? Did Ah Mah have to run interference, i.e. straight up ''lie'' to her family to keep June in town if they tried to bring her along? If there ''was'' a grace period did Jasmine not mention it because she didn't want June to dread being trapped by powerful forces beyond her control until another is chosen from her family, maybe June's own child, trapping ''them'' as well while June can only watch? No wonder Jasmine is trying so hard to free June, there's really no happy ending for her granddaughter as long as that damn force field is up.
*** The idea of a grace period is plausible, given that in the first episode, it's only been a few months that she's officially been the Te Xuan Ze. So if the limitation on her leaving only took effect when she officially took up the mantle, not when she first awakened her powers, then there's only been a few months since when that would have been an issue regarding vacations.
* The magical elders are good at empowering individuals to be the Te Xuan Ze, but it's made apparent that they can't take the power ''back'' as seen with Kai Yee who had to be imprisoned twice. Consider the barrier that keeps the Te Xuan Ze trapped in Orchid Bay City: said to make sure the world would always be protected by one of a June's family, but ''maybe'' also has the side effect of keeping a rogue Te Xuan Ze contained in the worst case scenario?
* Given that Monroe is extremely long lived, he has seen his past companions all die of old age and he will likely outlive June and Ray Ray.
** Monroe's father is stated to be around eight hundred and thirty-nine years old and is at the equivalent of retirement age. If Monroe (who's around six hundred) can expect the same, that's roughly ''eight generations of Lees that Monroe is going to watch die at minimum'' starting with June's, not even counting the previous ones during his tenure with the Te Xuan Ze. One can hope that Monroe has made peace with this because he genuinely cares about June and the rest of her family in the present. Further FridgeHorror in that this is a reversal of what a normal dog's life with one family would be: whereas a family might have several dogs over two or three generations, the dog in this case has even more families that he'll outlive barring an early (by his standards') demise.
* There are a ''lot'' of magical creatures in this universe that either don't care about killing children or are actively working toward this goal usually by planning to [[EatsBabies eat them]]. While this never goes far thanks to June and company it ''does'' have some horrible implications in the backstory where magical creatures and humans effectively tried to wipe each out. While the show implies that it's because humans feared monsters, maybe they had good reasons to do so? Even the friendly monsters don't think much about humans, like in "It's The Great Pumpkin, Juniper Lee" where the disguised monster kids' human forms are treated as just as ugly by some of the parents as humans would feel if their children were going to look like monsters their entire lives. These are monsters that are friendly and complimentary of June herself ''but don't think much of humans or their appearance,'' implying they literally see June as [[YouAreACreditToYourRace the only human worth caring about, with maybe Ray Ray as well.]]
