When Hunt finally addresses him directly and asks, "Analyst, huh?", apropos of nothing, Brandt goes straight into "If you're implying that I made a bad call...", his guilty conscience jumping to the conclusion that Hunt somehow knows who he was before he was an analyst and blames him for his wife's death. It's a nice peek into Brandt's head before we even know the story. |

This means that IMF already had a short list of candidates for Cobalt's true identity and was prepared to set up the next operation against Cobalt as soon as the Kremlin team confirmed which suspect it was. Presumably each of the other flash drives in the Secretary's case had background on the other suspects along with the same intel on the upcoming Burj Khalifa meeting. |
| 5 | * The scene where Benji rebukes Egorov with the term "private" might seem odd at first, given that the man had previously announced himself as a major. However, it is normally rare for a man of Egorov's status to be relegated to simply scanning personnel entering the Kremlin, even with the current state of the Russian military. Being given to such a post possibly implies Egorov is either on a punishment or was demoted. Benji's statement was actually an ''insult'' directed against Egorov. |
