5	After the end of ''Series/KamenRiderSuper1'', the Franchise/KamenRider Series went on another hiatus. But fans still [[SendingStuffToSaveTheShow campaigned]] for a new series, even to the point of proposing their own [[https://twitter.com/Vynw2XZDFHjukJB/status/1307281506700673024 "Kamen Rider J"]] (not that ''Film/KamenRiderJ''), so Creator/ShotaroIshinomori introduced a new Kamen Rider--without a TV show.

7	A [[NoNameGiven "tenth Rider"]] debuted on July 1982, in an illustration published by such Japanese magazines as ''TV Magazine'' and ''TV Land''. The next month, singer Kushida Akira (already known for Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan) would release ''Dragon Road'', a single song for the new Rider. After a year-long multimedia campaign[[note]]including a contest to decide his name, a radio drama on All-Night Nippon starring Creator/AkiraKamiya as the tenth Rider, a live unveiling of the character and his name, several photo stories in magazines and even live stage shows[[/note]], Kamen Rider ZX finally made his TV debut in the January 3, 1984 hour-long special '''''Birth of the 10th! Gather All Kamen Riders!!''''', in which ''Dragon Road'' and ''FORGET MEMORIE'S'' from Kushida's 1982 single would be used as opening and ending songs.

9	Ryo Murasame, captured by the Badan Empire in the Amazonian rainforest with his sister Shizuka, is [[WeCanRebuildHim remodeled]] into their own SuperSoldier, ZX,[[note]] Spoken as "zeh cross", not "zee eks"[[/note]] while Shizuka is killed just as soon. Initially BrainwashedAndCrazy, Ryo miraculously recovers and escapes. He eventually meets three strangers revealed to be [[Series/KamenRiderV3 V3, Riderman]] and [[Series/KamenRiderSuper1 Super-1]], who personally introduce him to the other Kamen Riders and join him in his fight against Badan.

11	The manga ''Manga/KamenRiderSPIRITS'' is an alternate take on the ZX story. The crossover film ''Film/HeiseiRiderVsShowaRiderKamenRiderWarsFeaturingSuperSentai'' (released on the 30th anniversary year of ZX) puts a large focus on ZX, with the return of both Ryo and the Badan Empire.
