An English-language remake of ''Film/District13'', it was released in North America on April 25, 2014, and in its native France two days earlier. It once again stars David Belle, this time sharing protagonist duties with Creator/PaulWalker in his last completed role before his death.

!!This movie provides examples of:

* AdaptationalBadass: Not that David Belle's character was not badass in the original, but this version of him features more conventional fighting than just parkouring around and playing with his opponents.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Tremaine is a lot more sympathetic than Taha, the BigBad from the French original that he is largely based on. Taha was a [[AxCrazy complete lunatic]] of a drug kingpin who regularly [[BadBoss murdered his own followers]], and threatened to destroy the city with a stolen bomb just to extort a ransom from the government. Tremaine is an ex-soldier who is actually shown to [[AFatherToHisMen sincerely care for his men]], and whose motives for threatening to blow up the city are based on his legitimate grievances with the corrupt government for abandoning the district.
* AdaptationalVillainy: In the original movie the government abandons the district because the criminality that came with the drug lord Taha was so bad they became KnightTemplar seeing everyone in the district as a lost cause. In Brick Mansion it started as a gentrification project and Tremaine is implied to have not started his drug trade until they were walled in out of greed.
* CallToAgriculture: [[spoiler:The last scene shows K-2 helping plant trees in Brick Mansions.]]
* DesignatedGirlFight: Several between Lola and Razor. [[spoiler:Lola eventually drops Razor off the roof the rocket is on.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Tremaine is an ex-soldier who does all he can to keep the peace in Brick Mansions, though his methods [[IDidWhatIHadToDo leave much to be desired]]. He ends up changing his mind about launching the missile and helping the heroes invade City Hall to return the bomb to the CorruptPolitician, and after the CorruptPolitician's EngineeredPublicConfession, he runs for mayor.]]
* HollywoodLaw: Lino is apparently convicted and imprisoned for killing the CorruptBureaucrat police chief in less than two days, judging by the fact that Lola is still in her waitress uniform and doesn't look starved or dirty when he and Damien invade Brick Mansions.
* JerkassHasAPoint: At one point, Tremaine calls Damien out on the fact that the government abandoned Brick Mansions, shutting down the schools, police and hospitals and leaving them to fend for themselves.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Just about every main character. Tremaine even has severance packages for his gang's families for if they get killed.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Tremaine runs for mayor at the end, apparently with nothing said about his criminal history.]]
* PsychoLesbian: Razor spends a LOT of time ogling Lola's breasts and trying to cut her clothes off. When they fight, her expressions and the sounds she makes are nearly orgasmic.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Inverted as Lola is changed from Leito/Lino's sister in the original to his ex-girlfriend.
* TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: Applies even more in the original; that was released in 2003 and took place in 2010, seven years later; the remake was released in 2014 and takes place in 2018, four years later.
