Show Dogs is a 2018 buddy cop dog movie directed by Raja Gosnell (director of Franchise/TheSmurfs live-action movies and the Film/ScoobyDoo2002 movies) and starring Creator/WillArnett and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.

Frank (Arnett) is a cop who goes undercover with his dog partner Max (Ludacris) to infiltrate a crime ring that steals valuable animals in order to sell them off to the highest bidder behind the scenes of a dog show.

Not to be confused with Film/SnowDogs.

!!Show Dogs has examples of the following:

* DullSurprise: Pretty much all the performances in the film are lifeless.
* HappyPlace: An unintentionally disturbing example. In order for Max to endure having his genitals touched during the dog show, he goes through this trope, with his happy place being a parody of Film/DirtyDancing where he dances with Frank.
* OrwellianRetcon: The HappyPlace scene and the scenes leading up to it were removed for the theatrical release after the second week and for the home release after complaints were made about it.
* PartiallyCivilizedAnimal: The animals in the film can talk and some display anthropomorphic behaviour; for instance, the film features a scene of a dog dabbing.
* ShoutOut: The film features a lot of pop-culture-related humor; one joke involves a tiger making a Film/LifeOfPi reference.
* TalkingAnimal: A weird take on this trope. Animals can talk to each other, but they can't be understood by humans. However, some animals are treated as if they are understood by the humans around them, despite the fact that they can't. Max, for example, doesn't have a handler at the precinct he works at, until he partners up with Frank and can partake in meetings without people really noticing.
* TravelingAtTheSpeedOfPlot: Two pigeons manage to follow Max from New York to Las Vegas over the course of a day. Pigeons can only travel up to 700 miles in single day at up to 90 mph, yet these two manage to fly over 2,000 miles in the span of 24 hours.
