The reason for this is obvious: Wally ''did'' come out of retirement and became the Flash proper when Barry died in the comics, and many fans still wish Wally had become the Flash in the show, and it's a very fitting MasterApprenticeChain that Wally would teach his own mentor's children. There is, however, no verification of this in the show proper, with Bart almost never discussing the Flash Family in the future beyond his introduction episode. It's entirely possible even Bart doesn't know himself who taught his father and aunt (if they were taught by anyone at all), as his knowledge of the future does seem rather full of holes, and at no point does he ever claim Wally [[spoiler:died earlier than he was 'supposed to', though fans usually take it as a given that he did.]] |
