The idea of Maui being interested in a guy is not only cute, but a welcome form of LGBT representation (even if this is just a fan character!) These are written very in-character, and you grow to like the original male character Makani almost instantly. The two are a perfect match, and couple that with beautifully written pieces about Maui's reaction to loving someone mortal, you have a cute series of fics! If you're cool with the idea of Maui having a male love interest, you'll find some good reads here. (She also seemingly takes requests!)

Human!Tamatoa is also a great character and written in such a way that I can practically picture him in my mind. DISCLAIMER: I do not read explicit scenes, so I did only briefly skim over the tenth chapter here. However, the previous nine and the last one are very PG, and I enjoyed them!
