!!This fanfic provides examples of:
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: While she's based on the MCU's naive rendition of Peter Parker, Peta is far more confident and snarky, baring a closer similarity to the original comic book.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In the MCU, Tony knew Peter's secret identity from the very start, Peter going to great lengths to impress Tony who in-turn remains aloof in a desire to protect him. Here, Peta becomes his intern with him completely unaware of the fact that she's Spider-Man. He sees Spider-Man as a mystery he struggles to decode while coming to see "him" as a true hero focused on the little guy and Peta as the snarky second-opinion capable of keeping up with him intellectually and casually.
* AdaptationalSexuality: MJ still has the same relationship with Peta despite her being a girl, even eventually calling herself her girlfriend. The same trope can apply to Peter's love interest from ''Homecoming'' Liz, the story implying that the events of ''Homecoming'' were the same (minus Peta being a girl and her secret identity remaining a secret to Tony and Happy Hogan).
* CoolBigSis: Peta has a particularly close relationship with Morgan Stark, one of her jobs as a Stark Industries intern being to act as her babysitter.
* {{Crossover}}: This iteration of the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse shares continuity with its own rendition of the ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' (post-''[[Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast Days of Future Past]]'' CosmicRetcon), Spider-Man being friends with Deadpool and Vanessa, with mention of Colossus looking out for him.
* DisguisedInDrag: While Peter is a woman in this series, she is still known as "Spider-Man", using a voice-modulator to make her sound male.
* ForWantOfANail: The events of ''Infinity War'' and ''Endgame'' do not happen.
** Because the Avengers are still intact (Tony is still alive, Steve is still young, Thor is still fit), Mysterio's attempt at making himself a martyr and Peta a monster fails when Tony recognizes Beck for who he is and uses his legal resources and unedited footage from E.D.I.T.H. to salvage the newly ousted Peta's reputation.
* HumbleHero: In-character for Spider-Man, Peta has turned down ''several'' offers to either join the Avengers or receive financial and technological support from Tony on the grounds that her place is helping the little guy.
* InSpiteOfANail: While Tony does not find out about Spider-Man's true identity until ''much'' later than in canon, Happy Hogan still winds up dating May. This time, it's May who introduced Peta to him instead of the other way around.
* {{Irony}}: In-canon, Happy Hogan found Peter annoying and would routinely ignore him, not taking a liking to him until the end of ''Homecoming''. Here, he is a huge Spider-Man fan, a fact that Peta learns ''long'' before he ever finds out that she is Spider-Man.
** While her father is Iron Man, Morgan is actually a big Spider-Man fan, an ironic twist that isn't lost to Peta or Pepper.
* KeepTheReward: When someone started a petition to financially compensate Spider-Man for her heroism, Peta has all of the money donated to various charities instead of keeping it.
* LikesClarkKentHatesSuperman: Inverted. When Peta saves Morgan from a bomb planted in the Stark estate (later revealed to be [[spoiler:Quentin Beck's]] doing), they walk away with [[LovesMyAlterEgo everyone venerating Spider-Man as the one who saved a five year old]] while [[HatesMySecretIdentity Peta was the "coward babysitter" who left her to die]]. Tony fires her as an intern and a babysitter, she becomes a social and physical punching bag at school and The Daily Bugle smears her senseless, making her face recognizable to everyone in New York. All of this while Peta keeps the truth to herself and made Morgan swear to secrecy. While Tony eventually takes her back (though on very thin ice), it isn't until Mysterio outs her secret identity and tries pinning all of his crimes on her do the Avengers all realize that they were wrong about her.
* MythologyGag: The first time Spider-Man meets Captain America, it is when she takes a bullet for him and she nearly bleeds out, a possible reference to how her [[ComicBook/UltimateSpiderMan Earth-1610]] counterpart met his end.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: By the time she first meets Pepper, Peta has fought and permanently defeated ''both'' Green Goblins.
* ParentWithNewParamour: Before Peta even meets Tony or Pepper, Aunt May happens to meet and start dating Happy Hogan. While Peta certainly has mixed feelings about it, she tries not to get in the way of the both of them and only begrudged the fact that her super senses pick up what they do when she isn't in the same room as them.
* RuleSixtyThree: The premise of the series is that Peter Parker - here named "Peta" - is a woman. She's functionally the same as if she were male (still goes as Spider-Man, ends up in a relationship with MJ, etc.)
* SecretKeeper: For a while, [[spoiler:Deadpool and Vanessa]] where the only ones who knew the truth behind "Spider-Man".
** When Peta sensed the bomb about to go off, she was forced to reveal herself to be Morgan's favorite superhero when she saved her.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: With the events of ''Infinity War'' and ''Endgame'' not happening, Tony lives to see Mysterio's attempt at heroism.
* SuddenlyBilingual: Peta, May and Tony can all speak [[GratuitousItalian Italian]].
