6	* ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'' has quite a number of these due to its reputation within the ''Digimon'' fandom:
7	** {{Fix Fic}}s about the [[FanonDiscontinuity contested]] [[WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue epilogue]], usually replacing canon couple Matt and Sora with the FanPreferredCouple Tai and Sora, and sometimes adding in other non-canon couples like TK and Kari or Davis and Kari. There are fics that respect the canon epilogue, but attempt to fill in the long 25-year gap before the ending and the DistantFinale with how they got there.
8	** Rewrites of the entire second season are extremely common, usually done for the purpose of patching up all the plot holes. Most of them follow the Digimon Emperor arc fairly closely but after that, '''''all''''' bets are off. Common changes involve expanding on the Dark Ocean and D([[DubNameChange a]])emon Corps episodes.
9	** Many ''02'' fics focusing on Davis will more than likely have part of the plot revolve around the other Digidestined thinking less of him (including but not limited to: seeing him as a lousy leader or a nuisance, not believing he takes things seriously, etc.). This is almost always demonstrated by having the story begin with Davis being late to the computer lab and overhearing the other Digidestined insulting him behind his back [[note]]Yolei, TK, and Kari are the ones who insult him most often in these stories; whether or not the other Digidestined join in depends on the story[[/note]]. These may or may be borderline {{Revenge Fic}}s, depending on if the story goes out of his way to make Davis look bad.
10	*** Not as popular but there are stories that do the exact opposite of the above, having an outsider question why the other ''02'' kids tolerate Davis only to have at least one of the others tell them to knock it off (in varying degrees of politeness). Ken is the obvious and most popular choice but Kari and TK are also decently popular, with stories involving them saying that Davis' crush on Kari doesn't make him a bad person.
11	%%* It is extremely common, especially on Website/FanFictionDotNet, to find SliceOfLife shipping fics, moreso than fics taking place in the canon universe, usually limited to the cast of the first two seasons.
12	* SailorEarth scenarios were common in the earlier years of ''Digimon's'' online fandom (and they are to some extent still around, often as an OldShame). Usually this tends to involve an OC Digidestined finding a Digivice and joining the main cast, often with far too much familiarity with the setting.
13	** Not a Fandom Specific Plot, but the above plotline in particular is so familiar within the fan fiction community that it was lampooned in a fan comic strip where a stereotypical Goggles Boy finds himself in the Digital World, albeit with far too much GenreSavvy for his own good. He immediately thinks that he will befriend and partner with the first Digimon he meets. Unfortunately, he meets one of the franchise's many monsters based on theropod dinosaurs and is immediately bitten in two after wandering up to the Digimon and trying to pet it.
14	* Many fans are of the mistaken belief that Bun, Kentaro Kamon's reluctantly adopted Badmon, has the ability to temporarily raise its stats without evolving. Even fans who know better tend to give Bun this ability in ''Manga/CMonDigimon'' fics, especially if they are crossover fics, as there is not much to do with a Digimon that cannot evolve past Child Level otherwise.
15	* ''[[Manga/DigimonVTamer01 V-Tamer]]'' crossovers. The manga comic had three crossovers with ''Digimon Adventure 02'', ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', and ''VideoGame/DigimonWonderSwanSeries'' that are better known among the general fandom than anything else that happened in the manga itself, despite it being the first serialized and longest running ''Digimon'' work. If any modern ''Digimon'' fan knows anything about ''V-Tamer'', it often came by discovering its existence through a fan fic or crossover fan art, such as when a Latino fan released a cover of "[[AwesomeMusic/DigimonFusion X4B The Guardian]]" and randomly included [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIgymM3Ducs an image of V-Tamer Taichi standing in front of Taiki and Taiga]] in it. As for English language fics, ''Fanfic/TheTeacherOfAllThings'' for instance consciously breaks the "Taichi, Zero, and third wheels fight new monster" mold [[note]]There are new monsters and Zero does appear, but they are separate events, and efforts are made to raise the other characters to the protagonist's general level[[/note]].
16	* In the event ''V-Tamer'' fan fiction is not an OriginalFlavour crossover, it usually [[{{Shipping}} centers]] around Neo Saiba's hatred of Taichi Yagami for [[MySisterIsOffLimits dating]] his DelicateAndSickly sister Rei. While Yagami was infatuated with the younger Saiba when he first met her, he quickly got over it, and there is no hint of who Taichi or Rei would end up with. ''The Teacher Of All Things'' also plays with this one by showing that Neo does have a strong dislike of Taichi, but that it is greatly eclipsed by his ''respect'' for Taichi. And Rei plays very little role in things due to its crossover nature.
17	* Across the franchise, stories where one of the single parents [[ParentWithNewParamour ends up with a significant other]] see decent popularity. While said significant others can be decent people who bond with the child in question, it's more common for them to be a BitchInSheepsClothing who abuses their would-be stepchild and keeps them quiet [[AndYourLittleDogToo by threatening the rest of the cast]]. Of course, once the rest of the TrueCompanions find out what's going on, [[BerserkButton they're furious]] [[BigBrotherInstinct and quickly come to the rescue]]. And heaven help the [[TooDumbToLive idiot]] who does this to someone from ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure Adventure]]'', ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 02]]'' or ''[[Anime/DigimonTamers Tamers]]'' since they'll be facing [[PapaWolf protective]] [[MamaBear Digimon]] on top of their furious friends.
18	* Stories where Yamato (and possibly Takeru depending on the story in question) gets put in danger because of his father's job as a reporter are decently common in the ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure Adventure]]'' fandom, though most of them take place in the ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 02]]'' era. Similarly stories where Kouji (and sometimes Kouichi depending on the story) gets endangered in a RevengeByProxy scheme against his father turn up in the ''[[Anime/DigimonFrontier Frontier]]'' fandom.
19	* They probably aren't as common anymore due to how long ago ''Anime/DigimonFusion'' was released, but for a while it seemed everyone wanted to make their own version of Digimon Fusion replacing the Xros Heart army with an army of their own design lead by their own OC with their chosen or created partner digimon. In such fics, the main antagonistic faction would typically be an {{Expy}} of the Bagra Army, but not the actual Bagra Army.
