3Yves Charles Michel Léon Max Rénier (September 29, 1942 - April 24, 2021) was a Swiss-French actor, voice actor, screenwriter, director, presenter and singer of French and English descent.

5Born in Bern, UsefulNotes/{{Switzerland}}, he first gained notice with the role of Albert de Morcerf in the 1961 film adaptation of ''Literature/TheCountOfMonteCristo'' by Claude Autant-Lara, but his next four film efforts did not pay off. He turned to television, with much better success, with the role of André Bellegarde in ''Belphegor, or Phantom of the Louvre'' in 1965 and ''Les globe-trotters'' in 1966.

7The role he would end up most associated with was [[UsefulNotes/LesCopsSportif police]] [[LeadPoliceDetective commissioner]] Jean-Paul Moulin in ''Commissaire Moulin'', which he played [[LongRunners from 1976 to 2008]] (the longest-running CopShow in the history of French television). He wrote and directed a number of episodes himself.

9Lesser known but still significant was his voice acting career. He dubbed actors such as Creator/BurtReynolds, Creator/ChuckNorris (second voice on ''Series/WalkerTexasRanger''), Creator/PaulHogan (''Series/{{Flipper}}'', ''Film/CrocodileDundee''), Creator/FredDryer (''Series/{{Hunter|1984}}''), Creator/JamesWoods (''Film/JohnCarpentersVampires'') and Creator/TommyLeeJones (''Film/NoCountryForOldMen'', ''Film/TheCompanyMen'', ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger''). He also hosted some short-lived {{game show}}s and a TrueCrime show.

11He passed away from a heart attack at age 78 in 2021.
