->''"The thing is, I get asked when I first knew I wanted to act so often, and I genuinely can't answer it. It's just... I got the bug, and that's it."''

Millie Bobby Brown (born February 19, 2004 in Marbella, Spain) is a British actress, model and producer.

At a very young age, Brown met a well-respected Hollywood talent scout who informed her parents that she had "instincts that couldn't be taught". After a series of small parts on television shows beginning in 2013 -- many of them guest appearances but also including a memorably [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECrpbIu4m_Q foul-mouthed]][[note]]owed to her character being [[spoiler:possessed by a serial killer]][[/note]] starring role in ''Series/{{Intruders}}'' when she was only 10 -- she gained [[StarMakingRole worldwide fame]] for her role as Eleven in the Creator/{{Netflix}} series ''Series/StrangerThings''.

She has since appeared in roles of bigger prominence, including Madison Russell in ''[[Film/GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters2019 Godzilla: King of the Monsters]]'' and ''Film/GodzillaVsKong'' as well as the eponymous lead in both [[Film/EnolaHolmes film]] [[Film/EnolaHolmes2 adaptations]] of Literature/EnolaHolmes (which she also co-produced).

In 2018, Brown was featured in the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people, and was also appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, at the time becoming the youngest-ever person selected for this position at 14 years old.

Brown currently resides in the United States. In 2023, she announced her engagement to actor Jake Bongiovi, son of [[Music/BonJovi Jon Bon Jovi]], whom she had been in a relationship with for two-and-a-half years. That year she also published her first novel, titled ''Nineteen Steps''.

No relation to Music/BobbyBrown.

!!This actress' roles include the following tropes:

* CreepyChild:
** Eleven, the sweet-natured yet deadly dangerous telekinetic lab experiment in ''Series/StrangerThings''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlGuNGGfsts Madison]], the frightened girl [[DemonicPossession possessed by a serial killer]] in ''Series/{{Intruders}}''.
** Rachel, a child sociopath who ''[[spoiler: shot her own mother in the back]]'' in an episode of ''Series/{{NCIS}}''.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: {{Averted}}; her American accent for Eleven in ''Series/StrangerThings'' is spot on and aside from when she laughs has never made a mistake keeping it. It's helpful that she spends half her time in America; in fact, she's apparently so used to using an American accent that she had to relearn her British accent for her role in ''Film/EnolaHolmes''.
** In 2024, her use of an American accent when appearing on ''Series/TheTonightShow'' led to social media comment, resulting in her saying that her accent varies depending on who is with.
* PrefersGoingBarefoot: She's done a fair few interviews and photoshoots barefoot. In one interview, when looking at a photo of her at a party with the caption "typical me: shoes come off in 5 minutes", she responded by showing she was barefoot at that moment and said "I take my shoes off. I don't like having shoes on. Shoes are not my thing."
** She also spends much of ''Damsel'' barefoot.
* StarMakingRole: As Eleven in ''Series/StrangerThings''. Previously, Millie mostly had small roles on television on series such as ''Series/{{NCIS}}'' and ''Series/GreysAnatomy''. ''Stranger Things'' catapulted her into the national spotlight overnight, and the beginning of a film career with the major role of Madison Russell in ''Film/GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters2019''.
* ScreamingWoman: Screams a ''lot'' in ''Series/StrangerThings''. Subverted in that they tend to be aggressive screams, not frightened ones, generally when using Eleven's PsychicPowers to [[ScreamingWarrior hand a monster its ass]].
** Played pretty much straight in ''Damsel''.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Millie auditioned for [[Comicbook/{{X 23}} Laura]] in ''Film/{{Logan}}'', ultimately losing out on the role to Creator/DafneKeen. In a double case of the trope, had she been cast as Laura, she very likely would have been unavailable to take on her StarMakingRole as Eleven on ''Series/StrangerThings''.
** She revealed that she auditioned for the role of Lyanna Mormont in ''Series/GameOfThrones'' (which went to Creator/BellaRamsey) and that she was so disheartened when she didn't get it she considered quitting acting. Luckily, she persisted and went on to be cast as Eleven in ''Stranger Things''.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: There are times when she looks as though she's in her mid-to-late-20s, when in reality, she only turned 20 in 2024.
