3Robert Michael Jeter (August 26, 1952 – March 30, 2003) was an American actor.

5He began his career in theater, which culminated in a Tony Award for his performance in the musical ''Film/GrandHotel''. On television, he was a regular on the sitcom ''Series/EveningShade'' (for which he won a Primetime MediaNotes/EmmyAward) and played Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodle, in the "Elmo's World" portion of ''Series/SesameStreet''. His films included ''Film/TangoAndCash'', ''Film/MillersCrossing'', ''Film/TheFisherKing'', ''Film/{{Waterworld}}'', ''Film/AirBud'', ''Film/MouseHunt'', ''Film/PatchAdams'', ''Film/TheGreenMile'', and ''Film/JurassicPark3''. ''The Green Mile'' required him to learn a Cajun accent and earned him a SAG Award nomination along with the rest of the cast.

7Jeter was openly gay, and disclosed that he was HIV positive in 1997. He died in 2003 at the age of 50 after suffering an epileptic seizure. His last two films, ''Film/OpenRange'' and ''WesternAnimation/ThePolarExpress'', were released posthumously and dedicated to him.
