6Linda Regan, born Linda Mary Drinkwater, (5 November 1949), is a British actress best known for playing April Wingate in ''Series/HiDeHi''.

8Her father was Peter Regan, a bandleader and agent. Regan would assist him while he entertained, for example, she would help with ''Theatre/PunchAndJudy'' shows or balloon modelling. After school, she joined the Worcester Repertory Company.

10Regan's acting career began in 1970, with a long string of {{Uncredited Role}}s, in series such as ''Series/ZCars'', ''Series/OnTheBuses'', ''[[Series/DoctorInTheHouse Doctor at Large]]'', and ''[[Series/DoctorInTheHouse Doctor in Charge]]''. Come 1975, she began to be credited for more of her roles, such as in ''Series/DixonOfDockGreen'', ''Series/{{Minder}}'', and ''Series/{{Bergerac}}''. Also, during this time, she appeared in ''Film/ConfessionsOfAPopPerformer'' and ''Film/CarryOnEngland'' on the big screen.

12In 1984, she joined the cast of ''Hi-de-Hi!'' in the sixth series as April Wingate, a Yellowcoat and the eventual girlfriend of camp comic Spike Dixon. Regan remained in the series until the finale in 1988. In her personal life, she married fellow actor Creator/BrianMurphy in 1995 and published her first book in 2005.
