Their engineering methods and views are also very different as Gnomes are generally very careful and orderly when they work on a new project, often spending more time working on the calculations and schematics than on the product itself which can make their engineering rather slow and costly but also more reliable and secured, whereas Goblins are often more ambitious and willing to take risks with their projects but tend to neglect security and maintenance causing their devices to be often dangerous to use and to explode. Also interestingly gnomish airships are heavier-than-air machines whereas Goblins mostly produce zeppelins and other lighter-than-air gunships.

The concept of being loyal to and accepting the help of the dwarves and other races of the Alliance instead of dominating them is also utterly alien to him.
