[[folder:Might Senpuuji]]
[[quoteright:235:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/01_4.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/NobuyukiHiyama

The charismatic, and compassionate 15 year-old TeenGenius [[ArbitrarilyLargeBankAccount multimillionaire]] [[GradeSchoolCEO CEO]] of the world's largest transportation business, [[MegaCorp The Senpuuji]] [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concern_(business) Concern.]] To investigate the mysterious deaths of his parents, Might secretly develops the SuperRobot project his father left behind to combat evil; naming them the titular '''Brave Express Team''' to track down the criminals within his city to piece the crime together. [[Main/AwesomeEgo Showy as he likes to be]], Might is fond of making [[InTheNameOfTheMoon introductory speeches]] when entering battles. He fights piloting Might Wing, a jet that can combine with the Locomoriser and Might's A.I SuperRobot partner, Gaine, to form Might Gaine. Later on, he pilots Might Kaiser.
----
* AccidentalPervert: Played with in episode four. Sally's [[ItMakesSenseInContext caught in a swarm of robotic mice]], and Might helps beat them off. There's one left, and in removing it, Might [[ThanksForTheMammary accidentally cops a feel]]. Sally slaps him on reflex, then realizes what she just did and runs away, crying out apologies.
* TheAce: Might is highly disciplined in a variety of areas, including academics, athletics ([[AcePilot including]] [[MultiRangedMaster combat]]), art, business, and [[{{Socialite}} socialization]].
* TheBeautifulElite: He's got the [[{{Bishonen}} looks]], the [[ArbitrarilyLargeBankAccount money]], the [[TeenGenius brain]], the [[TheAce talents]], the [[NiceGuy personality]], [[MagneticHero the respect from the world]], he's ''everything'' a girl would've die to be with. In fact, Might is the ''sole'' protagonist of the entire Anime/BraveSeries with an upper-class background.
* BecauseImGoodAtIt: One of the most heartbreaking aspect we can learn from Might is as much as he would love to live like a commoner, he wouldn't know how to live like one. The only [[HeroesGoneFishing "hobbies"]] he does outside of [[TheMerch work]], is to help ''others'' [[TheMerch kickstart, or flourish their businesses]]. Be it helping Sally sell ice cream, or [[spoiler: unknowingly aiding Chinja Rōsu in kickstarting and promoting his ramen booth]]. Might is the embodiment of the [[InvertedTrope inversion]] of this trope-- a positive and powerful individual unable to step down from being the positive and powerful force to his society.
* BenevolentBoss: He constantly surveys his company's various projects, [[SuperIntelligence remembers each employee by name]], and made sure to greet all of his employees and personally give compliments for their hard works. As for his personal subjects, he treats them like his own family, and made sure their needs are granted.
-->'''Might:''' "[[SoProudOfYou I regard each and every one of my employee as my own treasure.]]" [[note]]Via ''Super Robot Wars V.''[[/note]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: Towards [[spoiler: Kiyomaru.]]
* ABirthdayNotABreak: Might celebrated his 16th birthday [[BirthdayEpisode on episode 29.]] His faculty, and the Brave Express Team gave him [[HeroesGoneFishing a day off from business and crime-fighting]] as his birthday gift, and gets to go on a brief date with Sally by accompanying her sell ice cream. Unfortunately, the Brave Express Team couldn't handle the battle without Might Kaiser, therefore Might calls off his date with Sally to head to battle. Badass for him, he was able to invert the DangerousSixteenthBirthday myth.
* TheCharmer: He's very good at sweet-talking with people, even with the jerkasses that threat the society.
* ColorMotif: He prefers [[BlueIsHeroic Blue]], [[RedIsHeroic Red]], [[PrimaryColorChampion and White]] for his combat suit; with Gold only on accessories.
** Normal attire-wise, Might is often seen dressed predominately in [[HeavenlyBlue teal]], cool color shades, or pastel shades rather than the standard yellow shirt & red jacket combo as the rest of the Anime/BraveSeries heroes, emphasizing his nobility, calmness, [[InTouchWithHisFeminineSide femininity]], and serenity.
** Though he ''[[DownplayedTrope does]]'' slip in a yellow shirt / red tie combo in a brown business suit 2 or 3 times, while only one episode with his favorite teal suit.
* ComesGreatResponsibility: As the person who owns the largest business on the planet, Might manages his finance thoughtfully and never used them for his own pleasure. His grandpa on the other hand, ''splurges'' on luxury items just for his grandson, much to Might's dismay.
* Main/{{Cowboy}}: He sported a full head-to-toe cowboy gear during his stay in an American theme park called, ''Western Land'' in episode 13.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue. Even though his Prussian blue hair is darker than his crystal blue eyes, they're still within the blue spectrum.
* ExperiencedProtagonist: Our series start right in the middle of a typical crime-fighting day for Might and his Brave Express Team, breaking his original schedule with his friend Hamada to capture bank robbers. Might then heads home, takes his shower, and briefs his staff to arrange dinner with Hamada to make up for the lost time. Which means Might has already been doing underground crime-fighting for some time, not to mention being on his 3rd year running a world-class transportation business.
* {{Expy}}: Of a certain famous multimillionaire named [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Bruce]], if less angsty.
** Might even uses GrapplingHookPistol to invade enemy territories.
* TheFashionista: WordOfGod takes his wealthy boy status very seriously, and made sure to give him different outfits per episode aside from his school uniform and business suits; which means he's as trendy and [[TheDandy dandy]] as any {{socialite}} would be.
** If he has to rotate his personal attires, he would rotate them at 2 separate episodes max. [[note]]By 2 separate episodes, we meant 2 episodes that are ''not'' back-to-back.[[/note]]
** If you assume Might only pairs a set coordination for all of his business suits, ''look again.'' He actually ''does'' change his suit-shirt-tie combinations around from time-to-time.
** For accessories, he likes to wear fashion scarfs.
* GogglesDoNothing: Might's battle suit contains goggles as part of his accessory. The only times he used them is to maintain his vision from high wind speed, and to conceal his identity from the public. [[note]]If they're all focused on him, that is.[[/note]]
* GoodIsNotSoft: There is a reason he's a successful businessman, and that is when he needs to be firm, he ''will'' be firm. The Senpuuji Clan's "[[RedBaron Legendary Tough Guy]]" family trait ain't just for talks.
* GradeSchoolCEO: Might inherited his family business at age twelve, who aged on to 16 by the end of the series.
** Might took over and merged both his father's "Senpuuji Trading Group" and grandfather's "Senpuuji Railroad" enterprises under one roof to form "The Senpuuji Concern"; [[TeenGenius then proceeded in earning his concern a whopping 200% increase of profit income by his first year as CEO.]]
* GratuitousEnglish: "Just a moment!"
** VerbalTic: Aside from his "just a moment" phrase, he likes to end his sentences with the Japanese modal particle, "sa."
* TheGunslinger: His primary weapon. Inspired by his father, Might mastered all forms of gun weaponry.
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler: Even though they are teenagers, he happily marries Sally in the final episode.]]
* HonestCorporateExecutive: He's a CEO and yet there's absolutely no corrupt bone in him. He gained all his fortunes fair and square and used them to protect the people around him.
* HotBlooded: In battle, he routinely gives [[LargeHam hammy]] commands and [[CallingYourAttacks calls his attacks]], yes. But Might is ''much'' more cool-headed than his [[Anime/GaoGaiGar kouhai in the future]]; that is the case, [[ScrewDestiny until the final battle broke out]].
* HumbleHero: Might is constantly shown to be a humbling young man; if he can get away from not being recognized in public while strolling amongst the public ''alone'' or with a private friend, he will gladly shrug off his status halo in less than a heartbeat, further claiming to people that he's "[[ThinkNothingOfIt just a regular guy as they are.]]"
* InTheNameOfTheMoon: Delivers these from time to time when piloting Might Kaiser.
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: A Type 1 effeminate with [[GoodIsNotSoft tractable aggression]] example. Might is a [[TheBeautifulElite cultured, upper-class]] {{socialite}} who [[TheFashionista knows his dress codes for different occasions]], and is known to have a soft spot for cute things, as he was shown wearing puffy hamster slippers [[note]]And later, fluffy bunny slippers.[[/note]] after shower. However, Might’s soft spot for cute things also has its boundaries, as he would stop when garment statements comes off as too childish, such as [[spoiler: his grandpa forced dressed him in a kindergartener uniform for their concern’s semi-masquerade Christmas Eve Ball]].
* MrFanservice: He provided an awesome length of his ShowerScene upon his introduction shot right on the first episode.
* MoralityPet: For his grandpa. Yuujiro Senpuuji was a stone-hard traditional Japanese entrepreneur who rules his family and enterprise with an iron fist. It wasn't after the birth of Might that Yuujiro begins to soften up. Yuujiro himself even voluntarily stepped down and let his son take over as CEO of his enterprise just to become Might's full-time loving grandpa.
* NiceGuy: [[InTheNameOfTheMoon As how he introduces himself]]:
--> '''Might Senpuuji:''' "I'm the nice guy who calls out the storm, Might Senpuuji!~~ You know. *eye-wink* (...Also, [[PersonalityBloodtypes my blood-type is O]], and a [[WesternZodiac Virgo]].)"
* NonIdleRich: He's a world-class wealthy boy who's more than willing to go out to the frontlines to reduce the crime rates of his city.
* NotEvenBotheringWithAnExcuse: The excuse he gave his homeroom teacher for not being able to submit homework is this. The excuse is true in context with his status as a schedule-packed industrialist, but is also a lie to [[SecretIdentity coverup his Brave Express involvement]]:
--> '''Might Senpuuji:''' "Ma'am, the usage of the term 'lazy' is rather harsh, but instead, the phrasing should be more like '[[ObfuscatingStupidity I simply forgot all about it!]]'"
* ParentalAbandonment: His parents died in a traffic accident three years prior to where the story started, [[RaisedByGrandparents but he still have his grandpa.]]
* PhraseCatcher: Anytime he deploys Might Gaine, those who are unfamiliar with them will say "So is that the reputed Might Gaine?" Might will always respond with "Yes, that's correct!"
* PrinceCharming
* PrincelyYoungMan: He's the young and sassy CEO of the world's largest transportation company, with all the princely qualities listed on here.
* RaisedByGrandparents: His grandfather, Yuujiro Senpuuji is alive and well, albeit [[DotingGrandparent a bit too overboard]] in (attempting to) spoil Might his own way.
* SecretIdentity: His position as the pilot and developer of The Brave Express Team is hidden from the public with only a couple of government officials knew about it.
* ShootTheHostage: [[spoiler: Catherine Vuitton invited herself to rob The Senpuuji Mansion's bank vault, and presumed Might wouldn't dare to harm his savings. But as it turns out, ''Might doesn't care,'' ordering Might Gunner to blast the vault, letting all his gold drain to Catherine's devastation. It turns out Catherine's the one who wants Might's gold all to herself, so Might proceeded in giving Catherine the finishing blow and burned all the savings in that vault to dust without a blink of an eye.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Might is often translated to Maito, much like how [[Anime/GaoGaiGar Guy]] is sometimes translated as Gai, primarily to keep consistency with how names of mecha are spelled.
* SuperSpeedReading: By Izumi's request each day, Might holds the duty to review, and finish approving his mountain-high, desk full of papers in ''under 3 minutes.''
* TeenGenius: At the age of 15, his intelligence is actually more on the Ph.D level. But rather in heading straight to college, he chose to stay in high school so that he can stay with his average, middle-class close friend, Hamada.
** He won the challenge his homeroom teacher placed him by solving a complicated equation on the spot to waive off his duty of submitting his homework.
* UptownBoy: TheBeautifulElite who Sally, a lower middle-class girl fell in love with.
* WarriorPrince
* WiseBeyondTheirYears / TheWisePrince: Might took over the family business ever since he was 12. As much as his faculty could tell how much of a mental struggle he's going through, Might understands he needs to be [[ComesGreatResponsibility responsible]], and push himself harder each day to advance their business; and wholeheartedly deals with all sorts of business and socialization issues with a sincere smile on his face.

!!Keiichiro Aoki
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/05_5.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Kazuhiko Kishino

Might's butler and parental figure, he's very even tempered.
----
* BattleButler: He's got some swift [[spoiler: defense skills to repel enemy attacks (swarms of robotic mice at least)]].
* {{Expy}}: Like his relationship with his young Master Might, Aoki is based on [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Alfred Pennyworth]].
* IncrediblyLamePun: As an old man, he has a tendency to pepper puns into some of his words in attempt to bring levity to the air. However, those who hear it tend to cringe or FaceFault instead.
* MorningRoutine: He gives Might wake-up calls as all butlers do, but the Senpuuji mansion is convenient enough to just have him stay in one place and press Might's room button to pull Might's window curtains and calls Might on speaker without personally going into Might's bedroom.
* OldRetainer: Of The Senpuuji household.

!!Izumi Matsubara
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/06_24.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/YuriAmano

Might's secretary and sister figure, she makes sure that he completes any business related matters that he would otherwise put off.
----
* CoolBigSis: To her boss, Might.
* PluckyGirl: She has basic defense skills capable of repelling enemy attacks (swarms of robotic mice at least), and has the guts to go below a ''running train car'' to take out a bomb, but she's just your typical secretary, and not on a NinjaMaid level.
* SexySecretary
* ValleyGirl: She has very subtle shades of this.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Izumi may dress in a mature fashion, but [[AllThereInTheManual she's only 22.]]

!!Mitsuhiko Hamada
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/02_5.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/MasamiKikuchi

Might's best friend from school, and an aspiring manga artist. Hamada's the team's chief mechanical designer and helps with the construction of all robots within the Brave Express Team.
----
* BestFriend: Close to MuggleBestFriend. Hamada treats Might like any other peer despite their status gap, which is why Might is able to relax and can act more like a teenager whenever he's around.
* CoolKidAndLoserFriendship: The loser end to Might's cool kid due to his middle-class status, but Hamada is no loser when it comes to competence in mechanical engineering. Hamada admires Might for his humanity, while Might appraises Hamada for his ambition, [[{{Determinator}} determination]], and creativity. Also, their classmates treats them both with equal respect.
* CopAndScientist: The scientist to Might's cop. Hamada knows his way around the robots he designed, but couldn't control them as well as [[TheAce Might]] in actual combat.
* ImprobableAge: Might aside, at age 15, Hamada's allowed to drive a car without any adult supervision.
* SequentialArtist: Despite his [[TeenGenius talents]] in SuperRobot programming, this is the occupation he aspires to be. Hamada even dreams himself holding a book-signing event complete [[CovertPervert with sexy]] [[{{Fangirl}} fangirls]].

!!Jiro Osaka
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/09_0.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Naoki Makishima

Chief of The Senpuuji Railroad Aoidou Division and lead engineer of The Brave Express Team. Osaka is in charge of overseeing the concern's various business-related vehicle and machinery projects, while also takes the SuperRobot designs of Hamada's to produce them into actual battle mechas for The Brave Express Team within the factory's hidden department.
----
* BigOlEyebrows: His brush-like brows are thick already, but his prime-time self was ''way'' more prominent.
* BlackBeadEyes
* CoolOldGuy
* IWasQuiteALooker: He was quite the {{Hunk}} able to pull off the [[EightiesHair Jheri Curl]] of Music/MichaelJackson.
* RailroadEmployeeRoundhouse: Of the Railroad Laborer section since his main job is being one of the heads of the manufacturing aspect of the industry.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Senpuuji Clan]]
!!Yuujiro Senpuuji
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/08_95.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Ritsuo Sawa

The bumbling [[ThePatriarch patriarch]] of The Senpuuji Concern, and Might's grandfather. Yuujiro was the founder of "The Senpuuji Railroad" enterprise and grew it large enough for his son and grandson to take over the business to expand the business even further.
----
* BerserkButton: Whenever ''anyone'' gets in his way of enjoying leisure time with his grandson, he would vocally lash people on spot. As much as Might doesn't want to leave work mid-way, he understands that things would be worse if he doesn't comply to his grandpa's "good will."
* CoolOldGuy
* DotingGrandparent: His son and daughter-in-law lost their lives, leaving him with his only grandson, Might. Therefore, Yuujiro takes it up to himself to provide Might with as much love and affection as he possibly can to fill Might's void of [[ParentalAbandonment missing parents]], and Might understands; but by "as much as he possibly can," Yuujiro is a whole other level than the middle-class citizens of the city, with his uncontrollable splurge of wealth, and ManChild personality towards [[WiseBeyondTheirYears Might]] actually makes Might's life a little more than a ''wee'' bit inconvenient.
* LargeHam
* ManChild: He only acts like this around [[MoralityPet Might.]] Otherwise, he's [[MeanBoss one hell]] [[DaChief of a boss]] to work for. We all should be grateful that he's a retired [[CoolOldGuy cool old man]] now.
** He's also shown to be extremely [[SpoiledBrat childish]] whenever he doesn't get what he wants on spot. Such as restaurant reservations and or food orders.
* TheMatchmaker: He's very, ''very'' active in taking Might and his staff to wherever Sally part-times in, calls Sally in to serve during meal time for [[EveryoneCanSeeIt everyone to see the embarrassed look on Might's face]].
* SelfMadeMan: He's the person who brought his offsprings the wealth they have today, and he ''will'' make sure they remember that.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Grandpa Yuujiro can't live without his nattōs.
* UnclePennybags: Hadn't Might set him on a [[MoralityChain morality leash]], Yuujiro could easily fledge into an UpperClassTwit. All of his splurge in wealth are mainly for his beloved grandson, and himself; albeit right on the fine line zigzagging in-and-out of ConspicuousConsumption.
-->'''Yuujiro:''' "When comes winter, we talk ski. When comes skiing, we'll do [[HotSpringsEpisode hot-springs]]! When had hot-springs, we'll have [[FancyDinner gourmets]]! And when we have gourmets, [[ShipperOnDeck pretty girls are needed]]!"

!!Akira Senpuuji
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/10_01.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:200: [[labelnote:Click to see his younger appearence.]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/10_02.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]
->Voiced by: Creator/HiroshiTakemura

Might's father. According to Yuujiro, Akira left the Senpuuji clan behind without prior notice, traveled around the world and married Ruriko along the way without his acknowledgement; only to come back home and apologized to Yuujiro with Ruriko 6-7 months pregnant with Might. Akira then stayed in the family business and founded "The Senpuuji [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_trade Trading]] Group" to work hand-in-hand with his father's railroad enterprise, and later inherits the railroad business. When Might was 12 years of age, Akira and Ruriko got caught up in a train accident that instantly took his wife's life, while he end up in critical condition. Akira died later that night, but he was fortunate to see his son, warning Might that there is "a grave evil lingering amongst their world," and urged Might to work on his secret project, The Brave Express Team before he took his last breath.
----
* {{Cowboy}}: Akira admires TheWestern culture and their philosophies on justice. His passion was hardcore to the point where he actually ''runs away'' from his inheritance duties to fulfill his dreams in walking the land fighting bad guys with a sole guitar on hand for his own entertainment. Might is shown to have a bit of his influence, mostly as a way to remember his dad.
* TheRunaway
* DeathByOriginStory

!!Ruriko Senpuuji
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/11_01.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:200: [[labelnote:Click to see her younger appearence.]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/11_02_6.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]
->Voiced by: Creator/ErikoHara

Might's beautiful, and loving mother. Rumor has it that Yuujiro never once approved his son Akira to marry her; but after Might was born, Yuujiro gradually soften up to her mainly because he had taken a great liking to his grandson.
----
* DeathByOriginStory
* {{Ojou}}: Hints from Yuujiro and Akira indicates Ruriko came from a wealthy background, but abandoned her family and her status to follow Akira.
* ProperLady / YamatoNadeshiko: Based on her given name, she's known to have Japanese ancestry, but her place of birth may not necessarily be from Japan.

!!Charlie

The Senpuuji Clan's family dog. He's an Old...''very'' [[{{Pun}} Old]] [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English_Sheepdog English Sheepdog]] born at the same year as Might. At 15 years of age, he obviously doesn't like to run around much. But whenever it comes to food, well, let's just say he made himself youthful again.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Notable Personnel]]
!! Ms. Moeko
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/41_1.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Youko Yamaoka

A veteran construction worker for The Senpuuji Concern. She was part of the team tasked to build up The Neo Shinjuku Train Station, with the station completed in episode 11. Moeko knows Sally on a private level, and referred Sally to her higher-ups to part-time on her team throughout the finishing of The Neo Shinjuku Train Station.
----
* CoolOldLady: Moeko is an older lady. She may look masculine with a hammy tone of speech, but her personality is feminine, and would gladly stop her bickering when her authority (Might) comes in to question and or take care of things.
* FluffyTheTerrible: [[MeaningfulName Her name is]] "{{Moe}} Child". And indeed she is an adorable lady, as long as you can look pass her bulky appearance.
* HeroicBuild: As people can see, she's clearly jacked for the job.
* LargeHam

!! Mr. Sakuuchi
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/42_8.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Motomu Kiyokawa

Chief of the Neo Shinjuku Station Project and Moeko's boss. Sakuuchi oversees the entire construction of the train station, and is the person responsible in personally greeting, and reporting to Might everything in regards to this project.
----
* FreezeFrameBonus: The ending credits only labeled him as "[[NoNameGiven Construction Chief]]," but his name can be found on his name tag.
* NervousWreck: As a man who's painfully concerned about the safety of his dear CEO, Sakuuchi panics to Might's every move as Might casually moves into the construction zone.

!!Tatsunoshin "Tatsu" Shinguji
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/43.jpg]]

[[CanonForeigner He only appears in]] ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV''. Serving as the host, and legal guardian of the heroes of the ''[=SRW=]-V'' incident, as well as standing in as the middle-man between the heroes and The Brave Express Team.
----
* ClassifiedInformation: Due to being a fellow manufacturer of the Aoidou Railroad Division and have worked there throughout most of his lifetime, Tatsu was employed under The Brave Express pledge just like Jiro Osaka, and by duty, must refrain from leaking anything classified to anyone outside of his division; even after retirement. When he understood [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV Soji and Chitose]] were individuals involved with an alien robot unit (pilots of the [=VangRay=] as player chooses), due to his lower rank and retired status, he is only allowed to contact his division boss, Osaka and have The Brave Express officials take care of Soji and Chitose's issues on a federal level.
* EmptyNest: Tatsu is a widower who's children had grown up and living independently from him.
* GoodSamaritan: Tatsu's the person who found the heroes, Soji and Chitose on sea shores. Not only did he called the ambulance to have them treated, but he also takes them under his hospitality.
* HeroesGoneFishing: He took up the hobby of fishing since his retirement, only to one day fished up some beat-up young guy and girl, and got himself back into connection with his boss.
* UndyingLoyalty: Towards his company, The Senpuuji Concern.

!Nouvelle Tokyo
[[folder:The Yoshinaga Family]]
!!Sally Yoshinaga
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/03_9.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/AkikoYajima

A schoolgirl who falls in love with Might. Sally has a father, who is in the hospital for much of the series, and a younger brother named Tetsuya. In order to make ends meet for her family, Sally has to take multiple part time jobs whenever she's out of school, making this trait of hers the main running gag and plot point in this series.
----
* AudienceSurrogate: Sally is the average teenager most of the demographic can relate to, and is the furthest in relation to TheBeautifulElite Might of the main cast. But she gradually became blessed with closer connections to Might whenever she goes out to fend for her family to make ends meet via part-timing in various jobs. This also counts as a mini [[AnAesop aesop]] expressing as long as you are willing to go out to the world and work hard for the ones you love, you will earn an abundant life, whatever that may be.
* DistressedDamsel: She tends to get involved in the crimes committed by the villains with no reason, and Might [[AlwaysSaveTheGirl always comes to rescue her.]]
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler: Even though they are teenagers, Sally became Might's wife in the final episode.]]
* IdenticalStranger: She has one in the form of an American girl named, Lily, who works in the theme park ''Western Land'' in episode 13. Might almost took her for Sally wondering [[RunningGag how the world Sally was able to find work]] ''across the globe.''
* TheIngenue
* LoveAtFirstSight: She instantly falls for Might the night he first saved her. But we don't blame her, she was literally [[BridalCarry carried away]] by his charm.
* LovesMeNot: In episode 9, Sally played the standard with her only daisy left of her entire bouquet. But her fortune was heading to a "Loves Me Not" outcome, until Might (unknowingly) [[SubvertedTrope shoots off the second-to-last petal during the most critical moment in battle]], giving her the "Loves Me" result.

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/07_2.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Hirohiko Kakegawa

Bills himself as the greatest police officer in Nouvelle Tokyo. As much as he's irritated by Might's [[AwesomeEgo cockiness]], Ozawa does show respect towards Might as the CEO of The Senpuuji Concern; but he's unaware of Might being the commander behind The Brave Express Team.
----
* {{Expy}}: He's basically a similar concept to the previous series' [[Anime/TheBraveFighterOfSunFighbird Inspector Satsuda]] and [[Anime/TheBraveFighterOfLegendDaGarn Tadashi Nemoto]], the bumbling police officer competent for their job, but totally outmatched against the enemies and yet had some irritation to the heroes. At least unlike those two, since the heroes do not use police cars as their forms (Police Guard is a different vehicle), Ozawa didn't have to experience [[HeroStoleMyBike getting his police car go off somewhere else without his consent.]]
* {{Hotblooded}}: He even has a ''heated'' complexion.
* IronButtMonkey: Ozawa and the police team exist only to be the punching bags of any criminals before the Brave Express Team came to save the day. He still avoids the trope PoliceAreUseless by being overall supportive and non-obstructive to the Brave Express Team despite being constantly beaten by criminals with more advanced robots.
* LargeHam
* PoliceAreUseless: Subverted. Ozawa and the police force were always beaten when it comes to fighting criminals in robots, requiring the Brave Express Team to save the day. But when criminals were in vulnerable position (eg: Just got beaten by the Brave Express Team), Ozawa will be there to arrest the criminal and haul them to jail without fail. It mostly works with Shogun Mifune's men [[spoiler:and eventually Mifune himself.]]

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/17_59.jpg]]

One of Tetsuya Yoshinaga's classmates from school, Kenji is a professional ''CG Robot'' gamer who is constantly on the champion roster. Unlike his own customize robots, Kenji views the contemporary real-life robots used in their society (such as Might Gaine) are like "kid's toys" made in poor quality. Which gravely upsets Tetsuya and their other friend, Hiroshi. His talents in gaming caught the attention of Shogun Mifune, and used him to go against Might Gaine.
----
* ChildProdigy: Kenji is a celebrity in competitive gaming. Like most celebrities, he picks his career over attending school, and has to carry heavy security around him at all times.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Kenji was really jerky when it comes to comparing his gaming robots to The Brave Express Team. But his true intention behind his actions was to [[IJustWantToHaveFriends attempt to impress his schoolmates in thinking he was cool.]]
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Kenji always felt lonely, and admired those with a cool pack of friends. Therefore, he tries to attract people to befriend him by using his gaming skills, and celebrity status in competitive gaming.

One of Tetsuya's best friends from school. Like Tetsuya, he idolizes Might Gaine. He tags along with Tetsuya to check-in on Kenji's well-being due to Kenji's prolonged absence from school from competitive gaming.
----
* FunTShirt: Hiroshi wears a jacket that reads: "Go Go Boy."
* GoodIsNotSoft: Despite being genuinely caring and concerned for Kenji, witnessing Kenji ignoring their concerns for him, and talking down on [[TheHeart Tetsuya]] and the Brave Express has led Hiroshi fed up with Kenji's attitude. Hiroshi immediately straight out backs Tetsuya in support of the Brave Express, [[WhatTheHellHero calls out on Kenji for being a jerk]], ''and'' drags Tetsuya with him to leave Kenji alone.

One of his engineers, Doctor Maeno, took him to escape the laboratory, Might and his crew happened to coincidentally encounter them at that time, and took them under their hospitality before Mifune got hold of Kiyomaru to be brain-washed.
----
* BackForTheFinale: [[spoiler: Kiyomaru survived his HeroicSacrifice and was seen with his assumed guardian, Doctor Maeno attending Migh & Sally's wedding in the same VIP section with The Brave Express personnel.]]
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Of all the cool things the city has to offer, Kiyomaru fell in love with their "super high-speed horses." Cue sudden raise in traffic accidents around the city.
* DungeonCrawling: Upon waking up in Might's mansion for the first time, he thought he was abducted within some castle, and attempted to pierce against layers of Might's security personnel around the mansion until Might manages to find, and stop him.
* GoneToTheFuture: Kiyomaru was born believing he was raised as a samurai of the Sengoku Period. So when he woke up for the first time in Might's mansion, he was severely confused. But as he toured around town, he became vastly [[CuriousAsAMonkey curious and interested of everything he's experiencing within the city]].
* KidSamurai

Also known as "Black." Black Gaine is an AI robot clone created by Chinja Rōsu based on the data of Gaine / Might Gaine with the intention to be Gaine's EvilCounterpart. But at their first faceoff with Team Might Gaine, Black Gaine defied the will of The Asian Mafia and sided with Team Might Gaine in less than a heartbeat. Leaving The Asian Mafia dumbfounded. Might and Co. wholeheartedly befriends him and takes him under their wings.
----
* AffectionateNickname: "Black." Since Gaine's name was already taken.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: When Might and Co. first met him, he was literally ''just born.'' Therefore, his personality comes off as surprisingly [[TheCutie sweet and innocent]], prompting The Brave Express Team all the more willing to nurture him.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: In ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'', [[SecretCharacter provided he's unlocked]], Black Might Gaine will show up in the nick of time alongside Might Kaiser after Gaine is taken out of commission by Joe the Ace, tipping the odds in the heroes' favour once again.]]

* TheCutie: People just can't get enough of Black trying to perform a TongueTwister.

* DarkIsNotEvil
* EvilCounterpart / EvilTwin: Well, he was ''intended'' to be one for Gaine. But instead, Chinja Rōsu miscalculated, and had Gaine's conscience for justice installed within Black Gaine.
* GoneHorriblyRight: A rare heroic example. Chinja copied Gaine's AI a little too well when designing Black, resulting in him being just as heroic as the original Gaine.
* KilledOffForReal
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: While Might Gaine successfully slain the controlling mask off of Black to have him regain conscience, Might Gaine did not completely killed the mask, therefore it started to fly around looking for a new A.I. host to control, in this case, Might Gaine. 487An eccentric robotic engineer who leads, and test numerous projects without the consent from the government; which often results in chaos for Nouvelle Tokyo City. Wolfgang isn't portrayed as evil per se; he seems to be motivated primarily by pride in his vendetta against the Brave Express Team.
----
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He does not like learning about fellow scientists being used and thrown away like pawns, [[spoiler:one of the reasons why he betrayed Exeve]].
* ForcedIntoEvil: Zig-zagged. At one point, Wolfgang's entire team ''deserts'' him, forcing him to take an earnest job under The Senpuuji Concern, and [[GoodFeelsGood sincerely enjoying the life of said earnest job.]] He went back to his original allegiance due to AnAesop he learned about [[ThePowerOfFriendship friendship]], in which he realized Ich, Liebe and Dich's UndyingLoyalty to him. 491* HeelFaceTurn: He was forced by Exeve to build robots for him, though he turns on him upon discovering that [[spoiler: Exeve's master (Black Noir) had a hand in the death of Joe's father, who was a respected scientist.]]
* PointyEars: Of the drooped down variety.
* TheRival: Wolfgang [[GoodFeelsGood wholeheartedly enjoyed the good aspects of living]] during his time serving The Senpuuji Concern, but he decided to head back to his allegiance not as a malicious robotic engineer to inflict intentional crime on civilians, but to rival The Brave Express Team fair-and-square because he learned to value the friendship and loyalty of Ich, Liebe and Dich.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Once he learned the extent of what Exeve did, Wolfgang did his best to become this trope for Exeve, spying a majority of Exeve's conversation with Black Noir and learning what they planned, and then plotting behind their backs. [[spoiler:For the most part, it proved vital for the Brave Express' success and Black Noir's downfall: Because of his eavesdropping, he managed to discover about the Innocence Wave and delivered it to the Brave Express Team, while saving Joe from being BrainwashedAndCrazy allowed him to kill Exeve, eventually sealing Black Noir's fate.]] Exeve learned this too late, he might have been aware on Wolfgang trying to spy on him, but thought that those wouldn't matter in the long run.

!!Joe Rival
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/04_16.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/HikaruMidorikawa

Might's rival, also well known as "[[RedBaron Joe the Ace]]". He used to be an AcePilot in the army. Holds a strong sense of honor, and will attack anyone he sees interfering with his duels against Might. Starts off piloting Hiryu and then later Goryu.
----
* AntiHero: More or less a Disney Anti-Hero. He might do some virtuous stuffs time to time like saving Sally, but his main concerns were always getting into a fight with and defeating Might to show that 'justice' is a weak concept and the only thing that matters is skill, and later on, [[spoiler:[[YouKilledMyFather avenging his father]].]] The latter also happens to involve the BigBad, [[spoiler:who did the same to Might's]], so he ends up teaming up with Might on his own terms.
* BackForTheFinale: [[spoiler:After his suicide run, Joe wasn't seen again, so he was thought to be KIA. However, he was also seen during Might and Sally's wedding, giving his acknowledgement and blessing to them from afar due to his loner nature.]]
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: Whenever he's around Sally, Joe will inevitably be the brooding bad boy with Sally being the gentle girl trying to reach out his HiddenHeartOfGold.
* CaptainErsatz: Both of his mecha. Hiryu is a repaint of Sonic Bomber, while Goryu is a repaint of Dai Atlas, both of which are characters from ''Manga/TransformersZone''.
* {{Expy}}: Like several of the show's other villains, he's based off a ''{{ComicBook/Batman}}'' villain: in Joe's case, he shares his rival status, playing card motif, hair color and tendency to wear purple clothes with the Joker. Though, personality-wise, they're vastly different: Joe is much more honorable and dour than Joker's unrestrained villainy and attempts to make everything silly and vile in the same time.
* HeroKiller: OH GOOD GOD. He kills Tri Bomber early on for [[YouShallNotPass barring his way to fighting Might Gaine]] (though when Tri Bomber keeps getting up after it's clearly unable to fight, he relents) and later he [[spoiler: destroys Might Gaine after multiple fights in which he got close to doing it.]]
* NobleDemon: In his very first fight against Might, when he saw his ally take Sally and Tetsuya hostage just so he could destroy Might Gaine for Team Wolfgang, Joe shot his friend instead, allowing Might to save the two. He might be a hunter after Might, but he does not like dirty tactics. Additionally, except against Might Gaine, he'd still give a chance for the Bombers team to retreat since they're not really his main target, but they're stubborn enough for whatever reason to challenge him (trying to make sure Might Gaine could save people somewhere, or [[spoiler:avenging Might Gaine]]), which forced him to commit to the fight and when he does so, he'll move in for the kill.
* KnightOfCerebus: Joe is the only antagonist that is taken seriously, he is often seen questioning Might over Might’s philosophy of justice, and has a shot in beating him; as opposed to other antagonists whose schemes were rather daily kind of crimes or silly. That is, until an even bigger one came in form of Exeve, but Joe still has no time for silliness.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Underneath his jacket, he wears a deep V-line spandex shirt.
* PetTheDog: An almost literal one. When he was watching the talk show talking about the Brave Express Team alone, a cat approached him. Joe then shared his cooked food with it.
* PunnyName: His Japanese family name is "雷張", or "Raibaru", which sounds like "Rival" in Japanese, hence his English name.
** This may be a JustifiedTrope, since it's implied in the anime (and outright stated in VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV) that his real name is "Joe Shishido", and Joe Rival is merely a pseudonym. Which would make sense, considering how he seems to define himself solely as Might's rival early on.
* ThrowingDownTheGauntlet: Joe is shown to be very irritated by Might's philosophy on "justice," therefore he'll do whatever it takes to grab Might's attention for a duel, even if it means to hold Might down from heading towards the battle grounds that needed Might the most. Which in Might's perspective, can become ''extremely'' annoying.
-->'''Might:''' "Joe, ''[[Main/OtherStockPhrases I seriously don't have time]] [[TheyJustDontGetIt to deal with you!]]''"
* TheRival: Of Might. You ''did'' took note of his last name, right?
* RuggedScar: Not pictured, but he has a clean-cut scar on his right cheekbone.
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: When he was a kid, he was as much as an idealist like Might. Then his father was killed in cold blood despite his idealism, and thus Joe TookALevelInCynicism and ''hates'' concepts like 'justice', believing that [[ArrogantKungFuGuy the only thing that matters is his skill.]] And seeing Might proudly dedicating his battles for justice makes Joe want to puke. During the last legs of the show, while Joe pulled a HeelFaceTurn, his views on justice didn't change, but in the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars'' series, Might's efforts eventually restored Joe's faith on justice.
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:Joe does a suicide run and flies his mecha right into Exeve's cockpit, impaling him on the drill. [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat That wasn't enough to kill him, apparently.]]]]
* TroubledButCute: [[HiddenHeartOfGold Joe saved Sally on one occasion]], leaving Sally concerned, and tried to confront him on his unusual grudge against Might. Joe in turn was rather swift in opening his heart up to Sally to have some therapeutic talk, but even that didn't change his viewpoint over Might's philosophy.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: [[spoiler: His father was a respected scientist who was forced to be involved with underground mafias and died by shielding Joe from the mafia's gunfire. [[FreudianExcuse That incident greatly alters Joe's outlook on what justice is.]]]]
* WildCard: Despite being associated with Team Wolfgang, Joe is more than likely to shoot them in the back whenever Team Wolfgang attempts to violate his honor and ruined the chance to beat down Might Gaine fair and square. At one point, he's even seen working for Hoi Kow Loon instead. That was mostly on the beginning, though, once both he and Wolfgang became more entangled with Exeve's plots, both started to cooperate more often.

The three then temporarily left Wolfgang due to Wolfgang caring more about his robot creations over his comrades, becoming gangsters wondering the ghettos of the city. But then ended up trying their best to pilot their combat robot to fight The Brave Express in hopes to win their leader back.

* {{Expy}}: Following the ''{{ComicBook/Batman}}'' theme, being a short, portly mafioso with a large nose and affinity for birds makes him one to the Penguin.
* GagNose: His most defining trait. He nose is so large, it literally covers his entire mouth.

A demented American criminal who wants to overthrow the Japanese government and return Japan to more feudal times; believing that modern society and technology have corrupted the traditional Japanese way of life. Usually dresses as a shogun, and has a retinue of servants.
----
* DualWielding: As opposed to wielding one katana like usual, his final mecha, the Shogun Robo, has twin katanas for use.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: "Real men (does things) silently" by default. This is rendered in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars'' as "Real men shuts up-- and (does things)"
* NearVillainVictory: Shogun Mifune and his Shogun Robo was actually formidable enough that it cornered Great Might Gaine and is just one slash away from total victory. Then he looked at his falling castle, giving the opening needed by Great Might Gaine to stab him on the stomach and then defeat him.
* VerbalTic: Has a habit to elongate some of the vowels of his words, to emulate traditional Japanese speech pattern.
* VisionaryVillain: He envisions that the world would be much better with feudal Japan aesthetics and did all sorts of things to make sure the world goes back to feudal Japan lifestyle.

A female criminal who goes by the alias "Pink Cat" with a large ego and over-inflated sense of self-worth. Her petty schemes are often centered around fulfilling the most whimsical of her fancies, often at the cost of others. Loves to steal valuable art pieces and treasures and other rare artifacts. Employs an all-woman gang as her lackeys.
----
* AlphaBitch: Has the markings of one, despite not being a high school girl. But we can assume that if she was a schoolgirl, this would be her personality.
* EvilIsPetty: A majority of Catherine's desires tends to be rather childish or simplistic. But she tends to be very petty and [[DisproportionateRetribution overblown]] to get what she wants. For example, if she dislikes natto because she got her face splattered with it, in that case, she'll make everyone hate natto by drowning them inside a pool of natto, and then it extends to the destruction of chopsticks because it's one way to enjoy natto more.
* {{Expy}}: If the western audience could see the central motif of this series through Might already, [[ComicBook/{{Catwoman}} it wouldn't be hard to guess who she's based on.]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: Basically, this defines everything Catherine does. If she wants something, usually to her own selfish benefits, she'll do everything to make it happen and maximizing the benefits just for herself. She could care less about how many people would suffer because of that. And to make matters worse, [[VanityIsFeminine she's also VERY vain.]]
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Before the final arc begins, both Catherine and Audrey bumped into an escaped Shogun Mifune and got caged together, implying that she got caught.
