After the first season of ''The Amazing Race Canada'' proved to be such a ratings hit, CTV immediately renewed it for a second season. It aired in the following summer, in the wake of Characters/TheAmazingRace24, and airing almost concurrently with ''Characters/TheAmazingRaceAustraliaVNewZealand''. Unlike the first season, it traveled outside of Canada, though only for two legs each in China and France, and expanded from nine teams to eleven, and ten legs to 12.

Compared to the [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceCanada1 previous season]], the biggest improvement was the cast, which featured a wider variety of interesting teams[[note]]whereas the first season relied heavily on Jet & Dave to provide entertainment[[/note]], including several teams that could be considered outright villains, something the first season lacked. While course design was also considered to be an improvement (featuring a wider variety of tough mental challenges, and travel outside of the country for the first time, while not sacrificing any of the difficulty that had made the first season's course so interesting), there were areas in which Detour choices were not always equal, with one almost always being noticeably easier than the other, and the finale featured two luck tasks along with two tasks that usually heavily favor all-male teams. Also, the course was far too forgiving on teams who made huge mistakes, with teams easily making up hours of time deficits on multiple occasions[[note]]RubberbandAI helping two teams who stumbled hours behind the others to catch up almost immediately (with one team being saved this way ''twice''), and a poorly placed Non-Elimination point, after a Fast Forward, allowed the team who went for and failed to survive anyway, negating the risk of the Fast Forward[[/note]]. The level of competition was disappointingly low, as one team consistently smoked the other teams to win more than half the legs, while the other teams were all largely average or inconsistent[[note]]said team had nine top two finishes, only one other team even managed four, and had a finishing average (1.83) almost two placement points better than the next best team (3.67)[[/note]]. Despite the season's overall rockiness, there were plenty of memorable moments during the race itself. As well, the finale featured three likable teams, and with an unexpected end result, this season was considered to be more successful than the previous one.

!!Michael "Mickey" Henry & Peter "Pete" Schmalz
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mickey_henry_and_pete_schmalz_8460.jpg]]

-->'''Pete:''' We're tired of being the bridesmaid, we want to be the bride!

Best Friends from Muskoka, they wanted to prove that you could compete in the race while having lots of fun at the same time. They rarely fought with each other, or with anyone else, and goofed off constantly. They spent a lot of time in the middle of the pack, never winning a leg, yet never struggling either. In the finale, their experience in with rafting paid off when they were able to overtake Natalie & Meaghan in the Ottawa River Rafting task, giving them a lead that they never gave up, allowing them their only leg win as well as the Race itself.

* AlwaysSecondBest: Discussed mostly by Pete in the legs leading up to the finale, as he was tired of losing to Natalie & Meaghan. Though at that point they only had one 2nd place finish, and were mostly finishing 3rd.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: They were the second team to finish the Hockey detour in Leg 6, just behind Pierre & Michel, and ahead of Olympic Hockey Players Natalie & Meaghan who started the Detour before them. This would later count as a {{Foreshadowing}} moment in the final leg.
-->'''Mickey:''' Dude, we just beat Olympians!
-->'''Pete:''' We are Olympians!
* BraidsOfAction: They braided each others' hair prior to the final leg.
* CharacterShilling: Once again, the first segment of the reunion show was dedicated to talking up a pair of winners who won the Race without winning any previous legs. they even were given a Twitter question about why they deserved to beat Natalie & Meaghan, and a montage of teams "underestimating them" prior to the season.
* ChekhovsHobby:
** Being experienced with wake-boarding allowed them to breeze through the surfer task in the second leg faster than anyone else.
** This was lampshaded and inverted in the Hockey Detour in Leg 6, as they noted the last time they played hockey was when they were in Grade 6 in Elementary School.
** Mickey's history on the track team in high school allowed him to finish first on the additional sulky task in leg 10, pulling Pete around the race track for both laps without switching out.
** In the finale, Pete's job as a river raft guide gave them the lead at the Ottawa River Rafting task, overtaking Natalie & Meaghan in the process.
* DarkHorseVictory: They spent a lot of time in the middle of the pack, only finished above 3rd twice with no leg wins prior to the finale, and had only beaten Natalie & Meaghan twice prior to the finale, by a total of nine minutes. They also spent much of the season being portrayed as PluckyComicRelief.
* EverybodyHatesMathematics: During the distilling Roadblock, Pete said he was not a fan of math, as opposed to accountant Mickey.
* FailedASpotCheck:
** When looking for the Roadblock in leg 3, they missed the sign for Hillier Street, running up and down the street before spotting Pierre & Michel running for the restaurant.
** Pete kept failing the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Normandy when he kept using the wrong Hydrometer as shown in the demonstration. It took Ryan helping him out for Pete to complete the task.
* FlawlessVictory: Despite spending a lot of time in the middle of the pack, and only finishing above 3rd twice, they were never at the bottom of the pack either. In fact, all the time they spent in the middle of the pack meant they had the statistically weakest NoDamageRun in franchise history[[note]][[Characters/TheAmazingRace18 Kisha & Jen's win on Unfinished Business]] being the only only other team to accomplish this without winning a leg prior to the finale[[/note]].
* TheGlomp:
** On both the Campsite Detour judge and Jon in leg 5.
** When they checked in to the 10th Pit Stop after doing the Mussels Detour (in which they were both filthy and smelly), they attempted to do this to Jon ''and'' the Pit Stop Greeter only for Jon to stop them before they could do so.
-->'''Jon''': Do not hug me! ''(shoos Mickey away from the Pit Stop Greeter)'' Do not hug her, either!
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Described themselves as such in their intro, before quickly proclaiming their love of women.
* HiddenDepths: The seventh episode revealed that Mickey was an accountant, and took cosmetology back in high school.
* HonorBeforeReason: Minor example during Leg 11's Signal Flag Detour as they told Ryan & Rob to look closely at the flags.
* IWasBeatenByAGirl: At the beginning of the 9th leg, they said it was embarrassing to always be beaten by Natalie & Meaghan. This continued into the 10th leg as Pete got rattled when Natalie & Meaghan smoked them at the Mussels Detour, despite them arriving earlier than the Hockey Girls.
* InformedAbility: Pete was supposedly a hunter, and jumped at the chance to do the Biathlon Roadblock, only to take seven tries to hit his first target. Only Nicole took longer than him, and Sukhi, who looked scared to even touch her gun, did the task in two attempts.
* LanguageBarrier: Trying to get to Place ''du'' Canada in Leg 8, the taxi driver mistakenly took them to Place ''des'' Canada, almost an hour away. This pushed them to last place despite being on the first train to Paris.
* LetsGetDangerous: They started the 9th leg by saying that they were tired of just scraping by, and that there was going to be no more "funny business," and there was no more "Mr. Nice Guy." They would end up 2nd that leg behind the Fast Forward, their best finish yet, even beating Natalie & Meaghan (albeit by only a few seconds).
* LikesOlderWomen: Hilariously Lampshaded during the Campsite detour in Leg 5, when they invited Nicole to join them in their completed tent. Needless to say, Cormac [[{{Squick}} was noticeably disgusted at the thought.]] At the reunion, Nicole said they made the offer again at the Finish Line, and then Mickey said Cormac could call him "dad."
* NoSenseOfDirection: They were the second team to leave the Detour in Leg 5, only to get lost and be the second to last team to arrive at the Roadblock.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Pete says Mickey does this in his everyday life, as he's actually really smart and an accountant.
* OldShame: [[{{InUniverse}} Mickey expressed this]] about him taking cosmetology in high school, which he did in order to take machine shop.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Pete himself said he would never be able to show his face again after his horrible shooting performance at the Biathlon Roadblock.
* PluckyComicRelief: Most of their airtime involved them goofing off or being otherwise humorous.
* [[ReadTheFreakingManual Read the Freaking Clue]]: In the Confederation Roadblock in Leg 10, Pete did not initially read the part about asking the impersonators walking around the Province House about their friends and relatives, thinking he was supposed to memorize their names. One of the impersonators even gave the camera an AsideGlance upon having Pete run off without asking for any information. One look inside Province House finally told him he was doing the Roadblock wrong.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: Pete decided to do the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Normandy as he thought the Roadblock would involve drinking shots.
* SelfDeprecation: Mickey saying, "I totally think we could be employable after this," during the Dairy Queen challenge.
* SignatureLaugh: Mickey's giggle, which he bust out whenever he was enjoying himself.
* SignatureMove: Averted. They wanted to strip off their pants to celebrate winning a leg but never got to win one until the finale. During the "After The Race" segment, they entered the room without any pants, and were promptly handed over their pants as a "gift" from the host.
* SurferDude: Their intro had them wake-boarding, and Bob referred them as Surfer Dudes before the surfing task in the second leg.
* TemptingFate:
** They thought that having spent most of their time in the Muskoka area of Ontario would give them an advantage in the Yukon. They ended up in 6th place instead.
** Heading into the Mussels Detour in leg 10, Pete was confident they were easily going to pass Sukhi & Jinder and win the leg, even saying that, "this was their leg." Not only did they not pass Sukhi & Jinder, they also got passed by Natalie & Meaghan, and Pete needed Jon to cheer him up at the Pit Stop.
** Right before using the ascender in the finale, Mickey asked how hard it could be. He then proceeded to flail at the bottom of the rope for several minutes before figuring the device out.
* [[ThisIsACompetition This Is A Race]]: Pete's justification for not showing Sukhi & Jinder the clue at the Signal Flag Detour.
* UnderdogsNeverLose

!! Natalie Spooner & Meaghan Mikkelson ''(The Hockey Girls)'' [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/natalie_spooner_and_meaghan_mikkelson__7088.jpg]]

-->'''Sukhi'''[[note]](at the Mussels detour in P.E.I.)[[/note]]: These women are machines. They tap into some kind of inner animal.
-->'''Jinder''': They're [stripping mussels] faster than anyone. It's incredible.

Gold Medalists from the Canadian Women's Hockey Team. Due to their cool-headed efficiency at navigation and tasks, they put together one of the most dominating seasons in franchise history. They started off the season by becoming only the second team to win the first four legs of the race[[note]]After Marc & Kat in Philippines 1[[/note]], went on to become the winningest female team in franchise history with 7 leg wins[[note]]beating the six leg wins put up by [[Characters/TheAmazingRace10 Dustin]] [[Characters/TheAmazingRace11 & Kandice]] over their two seasons, Ana Paula & Renata in Latin America 4, and Valeria & Bohdana in Ukraine[[/note]] and being only the fifth team to break a 2.00 finishing average[[note]]after [[Characters/TheAmazingRace9 Eric & Jeremy]], [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceAsia2 Marc & Rovilson]], [[Characters/TheAmazingRace20 Rachel & Dave]], and Marc & Kat (Philippines 1)[[/note]]. Their positive attitudes also made them fan favourites, winning the Petro Canada Fuel Your Favourite Team vote. In the finale, Natalie took the longest to complete the Diefenbunker Roadblock, and Meaghan's injured hand came back to haunt her as she struggled with both the Rafting task and the ascender Roadblock. As a result, they were not quite able to catch up to Mickey & Pete at the final puzzle task, finishing in 2nd place.

* TheAce: They intimidated the other teams with their ability to do any task, not just physical tasks, quickly, such as memorizing a tea service, building a chair, matching coins to flags, or building a Mentos art piece[[note]]In which Natalie was the only team to complete the task in under two hours[[/note]]. In the fourth leg, when Meaghan started freaking out over learning the choreography at the dancing Detour, Ryan & Rob said said they might have finally found the hockey players' weakness... only to have the women then complete the task on their third attempt, tied for the fastest team with Ryan & Rob, and even better than Rex Harrington.
%% * ActionGirl
* BittersweetEnding: They may have lost the race but were voted the most popular team by the fans, winning a prize of free gasoline for a year from Petro Canada. When asked if this took the sting off of their loss to Mickey & Pete, they said it did.
* CurbStompBattle: They dominated the season, winning seven legs, and only being beaten to the mat by ten teams total, with three of those teams being helped along by a Fast Forward and an Express Pass. Of the six teams who beat them head-to-head prior to the finale, the most anyone managed to beat them by was eight minutes[[note]]Mickey & Pete in leg 6[[/note]], and the six teams combined only beat them by twenty-eight minutes total[[note]]Alain & Audrey by seven minutes and Ryan & Rob by five minutes in leg 5, Sukhi & Jinder by 6 minutes in leg 6, Mickey & Pete by under a minute in leg 9, and Sukhi & Jinder again by under a minute in leg 10[[/note]]. In contrast, they won legs 3[[note]]with an Express Pass used to avoid the U-Turn[[/note]] and 4 by over an hour, leg 8 by over three hours, and leg 7 saw them beat every team except Pierre & Michel by over an hour.
* DogWalksYou: Natalie got tangled up with the dog leashes while trying to corral their dogs to do the Dog Sledding Detour.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Natalie said this about herself in the seventh leg, after she crashed her land surfer into Meaghan.
* [[ReallyDeadMontage Elimination Montage]]
* EpicFail: As they were well established as hockey players, they expected themselves to breeze through the Hockey Detour in Leg 6. They easily made the first four shots, but had trouble getting the puck in the 5-hole, to the point that they needed 57 shots (4 shots for the first four targets, and 53 shots to hit the 5-hole), more than any other team, including Sukhi & Jinder (who couldn't even stand on their skates, but only needed 39 shots). [[BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame Pierre & Michel and Mickey & Pete ended up passing them as a result.]] [[{{InUniverse}} They mentioned how embarassing this was for them multiple times.]][[note]]Shawn speculated in an "After the Race" episode that their experience may have worked against them, causing them to over-think their shot. Also, Meaghan's injured hand may have come into play here as most of her shots looked flimsy at best.[[/note]]
* FacePalm: Meaghan, when Pierre told her they had U-Turned Alain & Audrey, followed by her prediction that things were about to hit the fan.
* FailedASpotCheck:
** Meaghan kept failing the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Normandy as she kept using the wrong Hydrometer as shown in the demonstration. It took her six tries to figure it out.
** They got off to a rough start in the Signal Flag Detour in leg 11 when they could not find the messages on the flag box lid, despite Natalie even pulling at the page of messages to look behind it.
** During the finale at Parliament Hill, they initially missed the box of envelopes that was at the Speaker's desk, costing them valuable time they needed to make up on Mickey & Pete.
* FailureMontage: They got one of these during their constant misses of the 5-hole at the Puck It Detour in Leg 6.
* GameBreakingInjury: Meaghan had trouble portaging their canoe in leg 5, dropping them behind Ryan & Rob, because she broke her hand eight days before the gold medal game at the Olympics, and it was still bothering her. Discussed during the Rappelling Roadblock in Leg 11 where Meaghan said she was glad that Natalie was doing this Roadblock instead of her.
** This would actually cause issues during the finale, as the Rafting task caused Meaghan's hand to swell up. Not only that, the final Roadblock required teams to climb an ascender to get their clue. As Meaghan had to do this Roadblock, her hand naturally caused her trouble again. It is likely that this was the biggest factor that cost them the Race.
* GeniusBruiser: While most athletes cast on the show balance out their physical advantage by being weak at other aspects of the game (Uusually the mental or navigational aspects), Meaghan & Natalie turned out to be more than just [[DumbMuscle physical threats]], and were generally the strongest performers when it came to the mental aspect of the game. In the finale, Mickey & Pete even talked about how they feared the Hockey Girls' memories at the final puzzle task.
* HonorBeforeReason: Meaghan allowed Sukhi & Jinder to look at their copy of the Signal Flag Detour instructions. Natalie then wondered if that was a mistake, questioning if she had just cost them the race.
* HonorIsFairPlay:
** Why Meaghan was so upset at Sukhi & Jinder for trying to send them the wrong way in leg 10.
** This was also likely the reason why Meaghan allowed Sukhi & Jinder to look at the copy of the Signal Flag Detour instructions.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: What the other teams accused them of when they gave the second Express Pass to Pierre & Michel, who had been acting like {{Jerkass}}es to everyone else, in an attempt to buy safety from Pierre & Michel's U-Turn.
* InvincibleHero: Averted. Despite Meghan & Natalie's domination throughout the first eight legs, [[ManipulativeEditing the show went out of their way to keep them from becoming this]], going so far as to emphasize little mistakes they made (Such as their NoSenseOfDirection moments in the 3rd and 4th legs), just to keep them from looking unbeatable. Often, the [[OnTheNext next episode previews]] were dedicated to showing scenarios [[PseudoCrisis that could possibly end the race for them]].[[note]]Only the Confederation Roadblock in leg 10 was a legitimate, if understated crisis, and even then, they almost came in first that leg.[[/note]]
* JumpScare: They pulled this on Pierre & Michel at the beginning of the 8th leg, hiding behind the sign at the train station while they waited for the twins to show up.
* TheLadette: Being Olympic-level hockey players. The other teams even treated them like they usually do Alpha Male teams at the beginning of the season, despite also racing against three other potential Alpha Male types.
* LastNameBasis: They frequently referred to each other by their last names, not surprising given that they are a part of the Canadian Women's Hockey team.
* MiracleRally: Discussed in their intro. Being part of the Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey team in Sochi, they rallied to score two goals in the last three and a half minutes of the gold medal game to tie and force the match into overtime, then won the game in overtime.
* MythologyGag: While zip-lining to the 11th Pit Stop, Natalie yelled, "I'm comin' for ya," [[Characters/TheAmazingRace3 Ian's]] CatchPhrase from U.S. Season 3.
* TheNavigator: Natalie had a knack for navigation, allowing them to make up time and extend leads on the other teams while driving. Discussed in leg 10 when Sukhi & Jinder failed to misdirect them on the way to the Pit Stop.
* NoDamageRun: They only finished out of the top 3 once the entire race, and in that leg they got beat both by a Fast Forward and a team using an Express Pass.
* NoSenseOfDirection: Used multiple times in the third and fourth legs to add tension that they might lose the leads they had built on the other teams, but it ended up amounting to nothing both times, as they won both legs by over an hour.
* PolitenessJudo: They got a lead on the other teams to begin the fourth leg when, leaving the ferry terminal in Macau, they went to the people in the front of the cab line and politely asked if they could jump the line. In comparison, Pierre & Michel tried running out to grab a cab before it got to the line, only for Cormac & Nicole (who were next in line) to kick them out of the cab and take it for themselves.
* [[ReadTheFreakingManual Read the Freaking Clue]]: They did not memorize the names of all three of their dogs at the dog sledding Detour in leg 5, forcing them to run all the way back to the tasks starting location to find out the name of their third dog.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: They used their Express Pass in the third leg while in the lead group and without even attempting the Detour first, just so they could get 1st place and a jump in the next leg.
** However, as was revealed later, there was an unaired U-Turn present. Considering everyone was gunning for them to be U-Turned at that point, it was likely that the real reason for using the Express Pass was to avoid the U-Turn. As was revealed by spoiler photos, they were U-Turned by Rex & Bob at that mat (as well as Sukhi & Jinder getting U-Turned by Alain & Audrey), which was wasted due to their usage of the Express Pass.
* RubberbandAI: They unfortunately got the other end of the band as their first place finish in Leg 8 by over three hours was negated by the equalizing flight to Montreal in Leg 9.
* SoreLoser: What Jinder accused them of when Meaghan took offense to him and Sukhi attempting to point them in the wrong direction while driving to the 10th Pit Stop. See UnsportsmanlikeGloating under Sukhi & Jinder's entry.
* StrategyVersusTactics: They willingly passed on the Fast Forward in leg 9 after seeing Sukhi & Jinder blindly jump at it. They discussed how the Fast Forward was a high risk, high reward challenge, and that they would rather give up 1st place for a better chance at staying the Race, as the only leg that mattered was the last one. This likely was also the reason they passed up on the Fast Forward in Leg 6, as they figured that doing the Fast Forward would not be as easy to do as the Puck It Detour, a decision that would actually turn out to hurt them during the leg.
* SweetTooth: Natalie's reason for taking the Mentos Roadblock.
* TallPoppySyndrome: They were immediately pegged as a threat, both because of their status as Olympic gold medalists, and how they dominated the first four legs, and were resented by the other teams for their constant success. During the "After the Race" RecapEpisode, Jon said that all the eliminated teams had been cheering and high-fiving when they actually struggled for once in the sixth leg.
* TemptingFate: They chose to do the Puck It side of the detour in Leg 6 and mentioned that they would be able to breeze through the challenge. In the end, they required 57 shots to complete it.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: Due to Natalie getting airsick during the tandem skydiving Roadblock. Chunks of her vomit can be seen on the floor of the plane.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Bungee jumping for Meaghan.
* YouWereTryingTooHard: When every team was struggling to figure out the Signal Flag Detour in leg 11, they were panicking and had just made the decision to switch Detours, a decision which very well could have cost them the Race. However, they had misplaced their clue after showing it to Sukhi & Jinder. As Natalie started digging through the flag box, looking for it, she pulled out the one flag they had wrong, leading to them being the first to finish the task.

!!Ryan Steele & Robert "Rob" Goodard [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryan_steele_and_rob_goddard_5428.jpg]]

-->'''Ryan''': If Ryan & Rob had a French travel show, it would be called ''“Getting Lost and Hating Yourself.”''
-->'''Rob''': Or, ''“Taking the Long Way in France with Ryan and Rob.”''

Co-workers, Rob is a former Mr. Gay Canada. After a pair of second-place finishes in legs 4 and 5, they spent the rest of the season barely avoiding elimination, with six straight bottom-two finishes leading up to the finale, including coming last in two non-elimination legs. Such luck could not be carried into the finale, as they were put behind early by a cab driver who did not know where the Fleet Street Pumping station was, and they were never able to catch up, finishing in 3rd.

* BigShutUp: After Sukhi and Jinder started celebrating loudly after completing the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Leg 7, Ryan yelled ''"Fermez la bouche"''!!
* BornLucky: They finished in the bottom two for six straight legs leading up to the finale (including finishing last in two non-elimination legs). Discussed by the other teams when they showed up at the Montreal airport after being saved by their second non-elimination leg, and discussed again when they finished the penultimate leg in New Brunswick in 3rd place, just ahead of Sukhi & Jinder.
* EliminationHoudini: [[{{InUniverse}} Jon called it "miraculous" that they had made it to the finale after all their struggles.]]
* [[ReallyDeadMontage Elimination Montage]]
* FailedASpotCheck:
** Ryan initially failed the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Normandy as he kept using the wrong Hydrometer as shown in the demonstration.
** While searching for their book at Parliament Hill in the finale, they initially started looking in the section that contained all the books that were written in French, forcing them to find the book twice.
* FailureMontage: During the 9th leg, after all the other teams had already checked in, they got a Failure Montage at the cheese Detour, failing 32 times before just deciding to switch Detours.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Neither of them took the U-Turn from Sukhi & Jinder well, especially Ryan. Though he understandably refused to give Jinder a five at the Roadblock following the U-Turn, he also made a big deal over it at the airport in the next leg, asking why they would U-Turn a team with Speed Bump when another team was already U-Turned.
* HideYourGays: Neither of them have had their sexualities directly mentioned onscreen[[note]]although they did show Rob repeatedly calling Ryan "hon" during the rock climbing Roadblock[[/note]], despite the two other gay couples on the season.
* HonorBeforeReason: As Ryan finished the Roadblock in Normandy, he gave hints to a completely lost Pete on using the correct Hydrometer, all while the two teams were trying to avoid last place. Mickey & Pete then beat them to the Detour Clue, causing Ryan to berate himself for this choice. However, with Ryan & Rob's NoSenseOfDirection that leg, it's likely that they would have ended up in last whether he helped Pete or not.
* HypocrisyNod: During the second leg Detour, Ryan said they were not going to switch Detours, as it usually just wasted time. They then immediately cut back to Rob suggesting they switch from sorting fish to filleting fish, and Ryan immediately agreeing, and then back to Ryan laughing at his lack of conviction. They were then the last team to complete the Detour when they ran out of fish to fillet before hitting 30 lbs., proving his original statement.
* InspirationallyDisadvantaged: Ryan was a testicular cancer survivor.
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: What they called Sukhi & Jinder U-Turning them while they had a Speed Bump, with Ryan saying it was like rubbing salt in a wound.
* LeeroyJenkins: See StrategyVersusTactics. In fact, they were heading to the Grilled Cheese detour when Rob immediately shouted that they were going to attempt the Fast Forward, without any discussion with Ryan whatsoever.
* NoSenseOfDirection: They got horribly lost three times in Normandy in Leg 7, putting themselves so far behind the other teams that they checked in last, at nightfall, only to be saved by a non-elimination.
* OhCrap: They had this reaction when Rex & Bob showed up to the dancing Detour in leg 4.
* OutOfFocus: They had very little airtime compared to the other teams during the first seven legs, and were outright ignored during the "After the Race" episode. They finally started getting focus after being U-Turned by Sukhi & Jinder.
* [[ReadTheFreakingManual Read the Freaking Clue]]: After having their first attempt at the fish filleting Detour rejected, falling 8 pounds short of the 30 they needed, they asked for another bucket of fish, as they had run through theirs, even though the clue said they were only allowed one bucket.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: See StrategyVersusTactics.
* RubberbandAI: In legs 7 and 9, they finished two hours behind the other teams only to be non-eliminated. They were able to catch up to the other teams due to a train bunching point in Leg 8 and an equalizing flight in Leg 10. They ultimately survived, despite having to do a Speed Bump in both legs (and in Leg 8, also being U-Turned).
* StrategyVersusTactics: They decided to go for the Fast Forward in leg 9 because they were tired of finishing in last and wanted to win a leg for once. However, at the time they were in last place, and went for it knowing there was a good chance a team in front of them had already gone for it. They stuck with the Fast Forward even after they found out Sukhi & Jinder were currently in the process of doing the challenge, and as a modeling, time-based task (compared to any task of skill), they had no chance of making up time other than to have Sukhi & Jinder quit the task. This predictably dropped them to last place once again, only for them to be saved by a non-elimination.
* TemptingFate:
** During the Dance Detour in Macau, after witnessing Meaghan & Natalie fail their first two attempts, they thought that the hockey girls finally had a challenge in which they were struggling. Meaghan & Natalie would complete the Detour on their very next try.
** Leaving the Detour in 1st place in leg 5, they started talking about how they were going to win some cash for winning the leg, only for Ryan to get passed by both Alain and Natalie at the Biathlon Roadblock.
** Starting the 6th leg, they said how, after finishing 2nd for two straight legs, they felt like they were one of the strongest competitors, only to spend the entire leg in last place, passing Rex & Bob on the final task to survive the leg. In fact they would stay at the back of the pack throughout the rest of the race, and never finish higher than 3rd again.
* UnknownRival: Of all the teams, they have been the most vocal about Natalie & Meaghan's winning streak, and are the most annoyed about the ladies' constant success. Meaghan & Natalie, meanwhile, have not made a single comment about Ryan & Rob until leg 8, when they said they were disappointed the friends had been spared elimination.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Ryan, as part of his sketch comedy act.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Heights for Ryan as he initially struggled with the Rappeling Roadblock in Leg 11.

!! Sukhi Atwal & Harjinder "Jinder" Atwal [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sukhi_atwal_and_jinder_atwal__4799.jpg]]

Siblings, with Sukhi being seven years older than her brother. They started out the season as one of the weaker teams, having a tendency to panic and beg other teams for information or help. This led them to finishing in the bottom half of the standings for the first four legs, including a last place non-elimination finish in Leg 4. Afterwards, they started to work more on their own, building momentum over the next few legs, culminating with two straight 1st place finishes in the 9th and 10th legs. However, they unraveled in the 11th leg when they [[FailedASpotCheck constantly failed spot checks throughout the leg]], and were the last team to complete the Signal Flag Detour, dooming them to 4th Place.

* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: Somehow, they got their French mixed up with their Spanish.
** Jinder said "Por favor"[[note]]Please in Spanish[[/note]] to the ticket agent while buying plane tickets to Paris.
** Sukhi said "Rapido"[[note]]Fast in Spanish[[/note]] to the taxi driver in Paris while trying to get to the Arc de Triomphe. During the Detour, she said, "one more, uno,"[[note]]Uno is one in Spanish[[/note]] to the server at the cafe after spilling their coffee. After finishing the Detour and heading to the Roadblock, she said "No Problemo"[[note]]No problem in Spanish[[/note]] to the taxi driver.
** They both used "Rapido" with their cab driver in Montreal.
* BadLiar:
** During the Plat Du Jour Detour in Paris, they ran into Ryan & Rob who asked them if they had found any of the cafes. They stated that they didn't know, but they were holding two of the three items required to complete the task, something Ryan & Rob picked up almost immediately.
** See DickDastardlyStopsToCheat. Natalie & Meaghan could easily see through the attempted deception. In fact, even Sukhi admitted that it was a terrible lie that was only done in desperation to stop Natalie & Meaghan from getting ahead of them.
* BeginnersLuck: Despite looking nervous to even touch her rifle at the Biathlon Roadblock, Sukhi hit her first four targets on her first four shots, and only needed a total of six bullets to complete the tasks, something only Alain did faster, and tying her with Natalie.
* BigSisterBully: When they were kids, Jinder followed Sukhi around, doing her bidding.
* BrotherSisterTeam
* ChekhovsHobby:
** Double subverted in the second leg at the fish sorting Detour, when they said they were both Biology majors, so identifying markings on fish should be easy for them. Initially subverted when they failed their first four attempts at the task, then double subverted when they realized they had sorted the fish correctly, but kept failing because Sukhi had somehow dropped a fish into her coveralls.
** Their worldwide traveling allowed them to memorize the coins and flags at the Mint task, allowing them to be the second team to complete the task, despite arriving at the Mint last, after the first team to complete the task had already left.
* ChewingTheScenery: They tended to do this upon completing tasks.
** Jinder got so overexcited about the Rock Roadblock that he jumped up on stage and started chewing the scenery without spending much time memorizing his lyrics, leading to him failing quickly.
* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat: Leaving the Detour in 1st in leg 10, they stopped to ask for directions to the Pit Stop. Seeing Natalie & Meaghan drive up behind them, they tried to send the girls in the wrong direction by pointing the wrong way. The Hockey Girls did not fall for it, giving them the lead. Though Sukhi & Jinder managed come back to win the leg, they ended up angering Natalie and creating an enemy.
* [[ReallyDeadMontage Elimination Montage]]
* EvilGloating: Jinder fist bumped with Pierre over their U-Turns at the Mentos Roadblock, then called U-Turning Ryan & Rob the best decision he had ever made.
* FailedASpotCheck:
** They struggled with the fish sorting Detour in the second leg because Sukhi did not notice that she had managed to drop a fish down the leg of her coveralls.
** Later in the same leg they dropped from 3rd to 7th when they stopped to plug in their electric car, thinking they should stop in do it when they were in front instead of waiting for later and risking running out, only for the attendant to tell them that they had mistook the range indicator for the odometer, as they still had 453 km to go before even running out.
** While looking for the clue in "a shop selling almond biscuits" in leg 4, they found the right store twice, yet passed right by the clue box and left the store. The second time, Jinder even stood next to the clue box while saying, "I feel like we're missing something." It took Mickey & Pete telling them where the clue was to find it.
** When opening the door to their cab after arriving in Paris in Leg 8, Sukhi accidentally bashed it against a pole, prompting the taxi driver to kick them both out.
** Several times during leg 11, causing their elimination:
*** Sukhi ran a red light while trying to navigate through Charlottetown. This earned them a 15-minute penalty that pushed them to third place, just ahead of Ryan & Rob.
*** Sukhi misread the sign leading to Albert County Museum and they had to double back. This allowed Ryan & Rob to catch up to them.
*** They dropped their clue sheet that told them how to complete the Flag Signal Detour, and had to ask the other teams to look at theirs to see the details for completing the task.
*** Though every team had issues with similar looking flags at the Detour, they took the longest to discover that their blue and white checkerboard flag was wrong, putting one with 20 checkerboard squares instead of the one that had 16. This left them in last place, and with only a straightforward climbing/rappelling Roadblock between them and the Pit Stop, they were all but eliminated then.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: As they were arriving at the Pit Stop in Leg 8, they noticed a wedding happening. Alain & Audrey would get engaged when they checked in two places later. When Jon remarked of their 2nd place finish at that point, they mentioned that the very next leg, they would be 1st (courtesy of a Fast Forward).
* TheGlomp: Jinder, to the tea service Roadblock judge and the distilling Roadblock judge.
* HistoryRepeats: For the second time in a row in Canada, [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceCanada1 a team that stated during the introductions that they were going to outright win the Amazing Race ended up in 4th place]].
* LeeroyJenkins: During "After the Race," Rex mentioned how they have no patience as a team, and will rush into tasks without thinking or planning at all. In the seventh leg, Jinder and his biology degree failed his first attempt at the distilling Roadblock because he rushed into it.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: After both stripping to win the nude modeling Fast Forward, they agreed to pretend it never happened.
** OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Jinder [[{{InUniverse}} said these exact words during the "After The Race" segment regarding the Fast Forward]]. To rub this in even further, the host presented Sukhi & Jinder a frame with one of the drawings that were done, fortunately with some of the bits smudged over.
* TheLoad:
** They fell heavily into this in the fourth leg, first by attempting to hang onto Mickey & Pete at the Stamp It Detour when both teams were fighting to avoid last, then by asking every team at the Fan-Tan challenge for help, including Audrey when they were the last two teams remaining. This greatly annoyed the other teams, with Rex & Bob claiming they would never help the siblings.
** This happened again during the Dog Sled detour in the fifth leg, annoying Ryan & Rob.
** Their recap montage in the "After the Race" episode consisted of all their Load moments, and the other teams talking about their annoying tendency to panic and glomp onto others for information.
** In Leg 11, they had dropped the clue instructions for the Signal Flag Detour. As a result, they had no choice (other than Detour switching) to ask the other teams to look at their instructions. Both Ryan & Rob and Mickey & Pete refused to do so, but Meaghan & Natalie agreed to give them a peek.
* NervousWreck: Sukhi tended to fall apart at the drop of a hat. In particular, at the Fan-Tan challenge in leg 4, when she started panicking and asking for help before even attempting the task. Bob talked about this on "After the Race," saying she had no patience at tasks. Afterwards, Sukhi became less and less this, culminating in finishing first in the Confederation Roadblock in Leg 10.
* NoIndoorVoice: They both talked very loudly, all the time.
* NoSenseOfDirection:
** They initially went the wrong way while canoeing to the fifth Pit Stop, as they did not know which way was down river.
** They got lost looking for the horse Detour in Normandy, dropping from 3rd to 4th, though they were able to take the time right back with Sukhi's braiding skills.
** Their navigation issues cost them time in the 11th leg, dropping them to last place.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: They started off being considered TheLoad by all the other teams due to their constant begging for help, and finished near the bottom for the pack for the first four legs. After being saved by a non-elimination in leg 4, they started running in the middle of the pack, then after U-Turning Ryan & Rob, pulled off three straight top-2 finishes, all the while being despised by all the other teams for their loud and aggressive gameplay.
* ObiWanMoment: In their final leg, after watching Rob & Ryan zip-line down to the Pit Stop, Jinder had a moment where he knew where they were done, and just encouraged Sukhi to finish the rock climbing Roadblock.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: They fell into the last group to receive the blessing in the third leg because they decided to take a bus to the first route marker instead of a cab like all the other teams.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Jinder saying that winning leg 10, their second straight leg, showed that they were the best team, even though they only beat Natalie & Meaghan by seconds, and had won the previous leg due to the Fast Forward.
* {{Squick}}: [[{{InUniverse}} Their reaction]] to modeling nude together to win the Fast Forward, being siblings and all.
-->'''Jinder:''' I don't know how we are going to explain this to Mom and Dad.
* TemptingFate:
** Their intro had them saying the were going to win the Race, and to "mark their words."
** Lampshaded by Jinder during their trailer parking Speed Bump. He said how, going in, he had thought, "How hard can it be?"
** Lampshaded again by Jinder during the Fast Forward in leg 9, where he said the modeling seemed a bit too easy, before they were asked to start stripping.
** Starting the 11th leg in first place, they stated that they wanted to keep this momentum going into the finals.
* [[ThisIsACompetition This Is A Race]]:
** Their justification for U-Turning Ryan & Rob in Leg 8.
** Also their justification for attempting to send Natalie & Meaghan the wrong way in Leg 10.
* UnsportsmanlikeGloating: Jinder accusing Natalie of being a SoreLoser after they beat the hockey girls in a footrace to the 10th Pit Stop, and all the other comments he made to go along with it (see SmallNameBigEgo).
* VillainousUnderdog: As all the teams, they were underdogs to Natalie & Meaghan.
* WeakButSkilled: They were not the best at physical challenges, or at concentrating, but when they hit a task within their wheelhouse they tended to easily destroy the other teams, which is what kept them in the Race so long despite their constant mistakes.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Sukhi's reaction to being told to strip naked (with her own brother right beside her) was, "Are you serious??"

!! Alain Chanoine & Audrey Tousignant-Maurice [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alain_chanoine_and_audrey_tousignant-maurice_6931.jpg]]

Dating couple, who became engaged at the end of the eighth leg. They were an inconsistent team, at times looking like the only team who posed a real threat to Natalie & Meaghan's dominance, and other times scraping along at the bottom of the pack. In the 10th leg, they fell behind early due to Audrey's poor navigation and Alain struggling with tasks. Though they still had a chance to survive, they missed several of their mussels at the Detour, allowing Ryan & Rob to overcome their Speed Bump and pass them, eliminating them in 5th.

* AffectionateNickname: Rex and Mickey mocked their over-usage of such terms at the chair building Roadblock in the second leg.
* AllOrNothing: How they described their situation when stuck at the Fast Forward in Leg 6, knowing that they would be dead last if they quit then.
* BigNo: How Alain described his reaction when Natalie passed him at the chair building Roadblock, Natalie negating their huge lead by completing her chair in five minutes, breezing right by him for the girls' second straight 1st place finish.
* BirdsOfAFeather: In their intro, Alain described Audrey as a female version of himself.
* BittersweetEnding: Upon their exit in Leg 10, they commented about getting engaged being the bigger prize than winning the race.
* BreakTheHaughty: Alain had a bit of an ego, and was frequently boastful about their abilities when they were doing well. However, every time they fell to the back of the pack, he would become more and more distraught.
* BreakingTheFourthWall:
** While in 1st place in the second leg, they stopped to get directions to North Chesterman Beach, only to see Rex & Bob pass them by as they were stopped. Audrey then broke the fourth wall with, "So we were in first, now it says second," while running her hand across the bottom of the screen where their standing had just appeared with a "ding" sound.
** Audrey did it again when Alain proposed at the end of Leg 8, saying, "our names are going to change to 'Engaged' now," as their relationship status on screen changed from "Dating" to "Engaged" with another "ding" sound.
** Both of them did it at the beginning of leg 9 when their cab passed Natalie & Meaghan's on the way to Circuit ICAR, with Alain saying, "Currently in 1st place, now we're sure," while pointing at the bottom of the screen. Audrey then ran her had across the screen saying, "And engaged," while the "Currently in 1st Place" swept aside, and was replaced by "Engaged," with yet another "ding" sound.
* CallItKarma: Audrey said that she hoped Karma would catch up to Michel at the Mentos Roadblock after he and his brother U-Turned them earlier in the leg.
* ChekhovsHobby:
** Subverted at the kung fu Detour. Though Alain was able to easily learn the choreography due to having a black belt in karate, they ended up being the last team to finish the task because Audrey struggled.
** Averted at the stunt driving Roadblock. Alain assumed his job as a stunt performer would allow him to breeze through the task. Despite arriving first he was the last to complete the task.
* EvilGloating: Alain, when he showed up at the Mentos Roadblock after the U-Turn to find Michel struggling.
* EvilLaugh: Invoked by Alain, who used a fake evil laugh to express how he was feeling when he saw Michel struggling at the Mentos Roadblock.
* FailedASpotCheck:
** It took them forever to find the clue at North Chesterman Beach in the second leg, repeatedly going to and leaving the surf shack because they did not see the clues sitting on the surfboards.
** During the Plat du Jour Detour in Leg 8, Audrey did not notice that she spilled her coffee until they delivered their items, requiring them to go get another one.
** Their not stripping all the mussels off their socks during the leg 10 Detour allowed Rob & Ryan to pass them, getting them eliminated.
* FailingATaxi: They had issues finding a cab to take them from A-Ma Temple to the Macau Tower in leg 4, and they decided to run the distance instead. It took them 45 minutes and put them in a huge hole to start the leg.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Alain in particular took exception to the U-Turn by Pierre & Michel. Though some of it was shown in the episode, apparently his {{Trash Talk}}ing at the twins went on for hours at the Roadblock.
* FollowThatCar:
** Audrey just followed Rex & Bob to Ucluelet Harbour in the second leg.
** She followed Natalie & Meaghan to Grey Mountain Road in leg 5.
* ForeignLanguageTirade: They tended to speak in French when they started fighting.
* TheGlomp: Audrey, to the task judge after winning the Fast Forward in leg 6.
* HistoryRepeats: Like [[Characters/TheAmazingRace17 Chad & Stephanie]], they got engaged in Leg 8, then were eliminated in 5th place, while winning only one leg during their entire run.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: They believed Pierre & Michel at the beginning of leg 8 when the brothers said they had no intention of U-Turning a fellow Quebec team, despite Pierre & Michel's frequent lies before that.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Pierre & Michel called them this when Audrey started talking friendly to them in Leg 7, this after Pierre & Michel's first leg win, stating that earlier in the race Alain & Audrey were complaining about Pierre & Michel's style of play. However, there seemed to be no malice on Audrey's part, as she genuinely seemed to be trying to get to know them. Either way, this figured into Pierre & Michel's decision to U-Turn them in Leg 8.
* TheMasochismTango: Mocked during their final Leg:
-->'''Alain:''' ''(imitating Audrey)'' I Hate You! ''(normal tone)'' I Love You. ''(imitating Audrey)'' I Hate You! ''(normal tone)'' I Love You.
* NoPeripheralVision: They initially missed the clue at the almond store in leg 4, standing right next to it as they looked at another part of the shop. Unlike Sukhi & Jinder, at least they spotted the clue before leaving the shop.
* NoSenseOfDirection:
** Teased at the beginning of the Stamp It Detour, suggesting that they were going to switch to the Stomp It Detour, after having already switched once.
** They had trouble navigating in Normandy, in particular when trying to find the land surfing task, finishing 5th in the leg[[note]]Only ahead of even more lost Ryan & Rob[[/note]] despite performing generally well on the tasks.
** Audrey's poor navigation after leaving the Roadblock in leg 10 allowed Natalie & Meaghan to pass them, dropping them to last.
* ParanoiaFuel: [[{{InUniverse}} After Alain finished the shooting Roadblock in one try,]] Audrey asked Alain to remind her to never let him buy a gun.
* RelationshipUpgrade: At the Pit Stop in Paris, Alain proposed to Audrey, who said yes[[note]]It even became the episode title quote[[/note]]. Their status then changed from Dating to Engaged.
* RunningGag: Their (mostly Audrey's) breaking of the FourthWall by discussing their placements and relationship status shown at the bottom of the screen.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Lampshaded during the "After The Race" segment, where several teams (most notably Pierre & Michel) complained they were getting tired of Alain & Audrey's constant displays of affection during the race, the majority of which were not shown on air.
* StubbornMule: During the Dog Sledding Detour in the Yukon, the dogs would not move for them, dropping them to second to last place.
* TemptingFate: They started the third leg saying they wanted to move from 2nd up to 1st place, only to struggle on the Detour and drop to 6th place.

!!Pierre Forget & Michel Forget [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pierre_forget_and_michel_forget__6772.jpg]]

Twin Brothers, they were intense racers who were seen as {{Jerkass}}es by the other teams due to their aggressive style of gameplay, using any means to get ahead. They had been building momentum entering the 8th leg, with two straight Top-2 finishes, and spent most of the leg in 2nd place once again. Despite two U-Turns (including the twins themselves U-Turning Alain & Audrey) and a Speed Bump being in play, Michel completely collapsed during the Mentos Roadblock, requiring 8 hours to finish it, and they ended up in 6th place.

* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: They ended up passing up Natalie & Meaghan during the Hockey Detour in Leg 6 despite the hockey girls getting there before them.
-->'''Michel:''' We were faster than two Olympic...
-->'''Both:''' [[FinishDialogueInUnison ...Gold Medallists.]]
* BlatantLies: While waiting to take the train from Bayeux to Paris, they promised Alain & Audrey that they would not U-Turn them (given that both teams were from Quebec), and that they weren't the "U-Turning type." They almost instantly decided to U-Turn them anyway, as they did not trust the couple, and felt Alain & Audrey would have done the same to them had their places been switched.
* ChekhovsHobby
** Having their own meat packing company, they breezed through the fish filleting Detour in the second leg.
** During the fifth leg, they mentioned that they used to go camping when they were younger, allowing them to complete the Campsite Detour faster than anyone else.
** Pierre managed the waste water treatment at their meat packing company, this gave him familiarity of the tools required to complete the Alcohol Distilling Roadblock in Leg 7 on his first try.
* DirectionlessDriver: They got lost trying to find Grey Mountain Road in the Yukon when Pierre refused to let Michel stop and ask for directions, forcing him to find an information center to get a map instead, and it put them in last arriving at the Roadblock.
* [[ReallyDeadMontage Elimination Montage]]
* FailingATaxi: Leaving the hockey Detour in leg 6 in 1st place, they were unable to catch a cab to Whiskey Dix, dropping them to being the third team to make it to the Roadblock.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: U-Turning Alain & Audrey in Leg 8 would backfire on Michel in a big way as Audrey would work with Pete (instead of a struggling Michel, had he stuck to their U-Turn deal) to complete that leg's Roadblock.
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: When Shahla & Nabeela were talking to them about their meat business they said in an interview they aren't there for flirting.
* {{Jerkass}}: They fell quickly into this role after clashing with the other teams over their style of gameplay in the third and fourth legs.
* LanguageBarrier: Their reason for using the Express Pass to bypass the Singing Roadblock in the sixth leg.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After U-Turning Alain & Audrey in their final leg, they fell apart on the very next task.
* [[ReadTheFreakingManual Read the Freaking Clue]]: They did not memorize the names of all three of their dogs at the dog sledding Detour in leg 5, forcing them to run all the way back to the tasks starting location to find out the name of their third dog, and ultimately to make the decision to switch Detours.
* SiblingTeam
* SignatureMove: They jumped on the Pit Stop mat in unison during the first five legs of the race.
* SmugSnake: In general, they were this for their smug attitudes and cutthroat play, all the while never being close to the biggest threat around, but it was most apparent at the Roadblock in Leg 8 after Alain & Audrey showed up (after doing their U-Turn), with a shot of smug Pierre resting against the railing waiting for Michel to finish.
* StrategyVersusTactics: The Roadblock in Leg 6 required teams to dress into a rock costume before singing a song. However, Michel didn't even bother getting dressed, instead opting to look at the song first. Realizing that their French-speaking backgrounds could get them in trouble during the task, Michel opted to use the Express Pass, thus enabling them to win the leg ahead of Alain & Audrey, who did the Fast Forward. Skip ahead two legs, and his decision to not even attempt the Roadblock, while getting them the immediate gratification of a leg win, would ultimately hurt them in the long run, as having the Express Pass could have helped them past the Mentos Roadblock.
* TemptingFate: As Michel started to struggle on the Mentos Roadblock in their final leg, Pierre said that they were running 2nd, and he was feeling confident.
* [[ThisIsACompetition This Is A Race]]:
** They stumbled upon the Snake Roadblock in Hong Kong at the same time as Mickey & Pete. When Mickey & Pete asked Pierre & Michel if they had any idea where it was, Pierre & Michel attempted to give wrong directions, then did it again when Mickey & Pete came by again with Rob & Ryan. Once they completed the task, they said it was part of the game.
** Again when they failed to jump the cab line at the ferry terminal in Macau. They said it to Cormac & Nicole as they sat in the cab they were trying to steal from the mother and son, before getting kicked out of it.
** Their justification to U-Turn Alain & Audrey, saying that winning was more important than standing by another Quebec team.

!!Rex Harrington & Robert "Bob" Hope [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rex_harrington_and_bob_hope_1469.jpg]]

Engaged couple, Rex was a long time dancer for the National Ballet of Canada. They struggled through much of the race, running mostly at the bottom of the pack, even surviving a six-hour penalty at one point due to another team removing themselves from the race. They were one of two teams to choose the longer Pierogi Detour in Winnipeg, and were able to complete it ahead of Ryan & Rob. Despite the lead that they had going into the Roadblock, Rex stumbled through his first several attempts at the task, while Rob finished it on his first try, eliminating Rex & Bob in 7th place.

* AsideGlance: Rex, when he was struggling with the tea service Roadblock and yelled to Bob to relax, because there were still two flights worth of teams behind them.
* ChekhovsHobby: Subverted at the dancing Detour in leg 4. Though Rex easily picked up the choreography, it took him a while to teach it to Bob, causing them to take four tries to complete the task.
* FailingATaxi: They dropped from 3rd to 6th in Hong Kong when they had trouble finding a taxi leaving the Detour.
* FailureMontage: Rex got one on the "After the Race" RecapEpisode encompassing all the times he said that his background as a dancer would help them with a task (surfing, kung fu, the dancing Detour, the vague "performance" clue at the Rocker Roadblock), and their subsequent struggles with each ensuing task.
* FourthDateMarriage: Downplayed version, almost a month after their first date they bought a house together, but only recently got engaged after being together for almost 10 years.
* TheGlomp: Rex, to the judge at the dancing Detour in leg 4 and the Campsite Detour in leg 5.
* IKnowMaddenKombat: Subverted during the Kung Fu Master Detour in Hong Kong. Rex suggested that they do that Detour as it was all about choreography, something he had experience with being a ballet dancer. They needed six tries to finish the task, as his dancing skills did not immediately translate to kung-fu.
* JawDrop: Bob, when they arrived at their final Pit Stop to find out they were eliminated, and not in 3rd like they thought.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: During the Dancing Detour in the fourth leg, Rex commented how his fellow ballet dancers would make fun of him for not getting it right on their first attempt.
* [[ReadTheFreakingManual Read the Freaking Clue]]: Nowhere in the clue for the Chair Building Roadblock did it say that the chair had to look good and that the netting had to be done properly, it just had to support the task judge's weight in order to be acceptable. Ignoring this caused Bob to dismantle his chair and eventually give up.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: When you're not sure if something you're building will pass muster, you should at least consult the task judge before ripping up your work, as Bob was unaware that he had possibly the best constructed chair out of everyone at the second leg Roadblock.
* RubberbandAI: Despite accruing six hours worth of penalties in the second leg, they were able to catch the once-a-day flight to Hong Kong with the rest of the teams to start the third leg, and were in the first group to receive the blessing in the morning.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Both of them at the end of the second leg. First, when they decided to quit the surfing task, Rex just gave up and went to sit down while Bob did the Roadblock. Then, Bob quit the chair building Roadblock for a second, longer, penalty after he had almost finished the chair, saw one tiny thing wrong with it, and tore it completely apart to start over. Their six hours of penalties certainly would have eliminated them had Shawn not dislocated his shoulder.[[note]]Though they claimed on Twitter after the episode that they did not quit the surfing, and the entire penalty came from the Roadblock.[[/note]]
* TemptingFate:
** At the beginning of the second leg, they said they would be able to maintain their 3rd place standing unless they were total idiots. Cue a pair of penalties for quitting tasks and only being saved by Shawn's shoulder injury.
** After completing the singing Roadblock in their final leg, they noted that Natalie & Meaghan were leaving just as they had been pulling up at the task and assumed that they were in 3rd place.
* WinOneForTheGipper: After surviving a six hour penalty due to Jen & Shawn withdrawing from the Race, they said they would win it for the married couple.

Mother and son. They started off the season as one of the stronger teams, never finishing below 4th place for the first four legs. Despite being one of the first teams to arrive at the Biathlon Roadblock in the Yukon, Nicole struggled to shoot her targets, not hitting a single target until her 13th attempt, long past the point all the other teams had left. She required 22 tries in total to hit all 5 targets, causing them to be eliminated in 8th place.

* ATeamFiring: Nicole required 22 tries (at 5 shots per try, meaning she shot over 100 bullets) to hit 5 targets. And she didn't hit her first target until the 13th try.
* ActionMom: After watching Cormac repeatedly fail the surfing task in the second leg, Nicole got up on the board and did it right away.
* {{Determinator}}: Nicole kept going at the biathlon Roadblock since she had always told Cormac to never give up. She gave Rex & Bob a lecture during the "After the Race" episode over their quitting two tasks in leg 2, with Nicole's first words being that she didn't raise them.
* FailureMontage: Nicole got one for her ATeamFiring after all the other teams had left.
* {{Fanboy}}: Cormac was starstruck when he learned who Natalie & Meaghan were. Nicole, on the other hand, immediately targeted the hockey players as a threat.
* InformedAbility: They chose the Campsite Detour in leg 5 because of Cormac's history of camping, only for him to immediately struggle to assemble their tent.
* {{Kiai}}: Nicole suggested they do this during the kung fu Detour, not that it helped them in any particular way.
* MamaBear: Nicole, self-described.
* OhCrap: They had this reaction when Rex & Bob showed up to the dancing Detour in leg 4.
* SoreLoser: On the "After the Race" episode, neither of them was happy about Meaghan & Natalie's domination during the first half of the season, with Cormac saying they would have won the third leg if the hockey players had not used their Express Pass. Jackie immediately countered him by saying that it was not a sure thing that they would have won the leg, and, as Natalie & Meaghan had ended up winning the leg by over an hour, she had a point.
* StacysMom: Lampshaded by Mickey & Pete during the Campsite Detour in Leg 5 when Pete asked Nicole if she would join them in their completed tent. Needless to say, Cormac [[{{Squick}} was noticeably disgusted at the thought.]] This was discussed on the "After the Race" episode, much to Cormac's annoyance and Nicole's enjoyment.
* TemptingFate: At the beginning of their last leg, they discussed the possibility of finally winning a leg.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Snakes for Nicole, and height challenges for both of them.

Married couple. In Hong Kong, despite being in the first group to receive the blessing to start the leg, they chose the longer of the two Detours, wasting time looking for ingredients while the other teams passed them. Even though they managed to finish the task ahead of Sukhi & Jinder, their failure to find a cab to the Roadblock dropped them into last, and they were eliminated in 9th place.

* BoyishShortHair: Jackie.
* FailingATaxi: What got them eliminated when they could not find a taxi leaving the Detour.
* FatalFamilyPhoto: Their last leg started with them talking about their trip to Asia and how Jackie proposed to Laura there.
* OutOfFocus
* TemptingFate: They said they would do well in Hong Kong since they travel in Asia a lot.
* TwoferTokenMinority: Laura being both Asian and gay.

!! Jennifer "Jen" King & Shawn King [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jen_king_and_shawn_king__41.jpg]]

Married parents. After barely surviving the first leg due to Shahla & Nabeela's penalty, they vowed that they would be moving up in the ranks. They were beginning to live up to that promise, passing a couple teams on the Detour, but while attempting the surfing challenge, Shawn dislocated his shoulder, requiring him to go to the hospital. They were forced to withdraw from the Race in 10th.

* CareerEndingInjury: Shawn's dislocated shoulder.
* DramaticDislocation: Shawn.
* FatalFamilyPhoto: Their final leg started with an old photo of them with their baby son.
* GracefulLoser: Shawn's reaction to getting eliminated was to say it was the coolest thing anyone had ever said to him, as it meant he had gotten to race in the first place.
* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: When he and Jen first met, he had hair that went to his shoulders, now it's not so long.
* HighSchoolSweethearts
* NonGameplayElimination: Due to Shawn dislocating his shoulder, he and Jen decided to withdraw.
* TemptingFate: Shawn saying, after their 10th place finish in the first leg, that they had nowhere to go but up.

!! Shahla Kara & Nabeela Barday [[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shahla_kara_and_nabeela_barday_6020.jpg]]

Muslim best friends. They started off the first leg by getting on the last flight to Victoria, putting them in a four-way race to avoid elimination right off the bat. They left the tea service Roadblock in 10th place, getting a small, but significant lead on Jen & Shawn. However, they dropped their equipment twice while trying to fix their leaks in the flooding simulator training exercise, and Shahla's legs cramped up badly in the cold water, forcing them to quit the challenge and making them the season's first eliminated team.

* AgainstMyReligion: They claimed they would take a penalty if a task went against their Muslim beliefs, but, like most teams who have made this claim in the past, they never got to prove it.
* TheFashionista: They mentioned they brought a lot of really nice of outfits with them that they never got to show off.
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: When Nabeela fell running up the dock to the flood simulator, she gashed her knee open and required eight stitches. She said she was on such an adrenaline rush that she did not notice until she took her tights off to change into her wetsuit.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: They said this in their intro.
