!! Max Winters[=/=]Yaotl
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yaotl_3.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/PatrickStewart
A powerful industrialist who enlisted the help of the Foot Clan to capture the thirteen monsters. He's eventually revealed to be Yaotl, a warlord that gained immortality, who now wants to rest in peace.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: His coloring is vague enough that it's unclear what race he is, and this apparently allowed him to pass as many different ones, from Persian to Egyptian to Greek.
* TheAtoner: His quest for immortality led to his generals, who were also his family, becoming stone statues and unleashed a batch of horrific monsters on the world. In the present all his plans were meant to lead into returning the creatures to their homes, undoing the immortality on himself and his resurrected siblings so they could all die and rest in peace.
* BadassFamily: Him and the Stone Generals are siblings and they were fearsome warriors who destroyed all that opposed them.
* BigBad: Subverted. Most of the film sets him up to be this, but his true motivations and plans are eventually revealed to be good. It's subtly implied that he may have been a true villain during the events 3,000 years ago that led to him gaining immortality, but later pulled a HeelFaceTurn due to the centuries of living with guilt and regret over the fate of his generals and being responsible for releasing the 13 monsters into the world.
* DisappearsIntoLight: After the Stone Generals are defeated and the curse is lifted, he dies in peace and disintegrates into light.
* {{Expy}}: He was deliberately based off ComicBook/VandalSavage, being an immortal supervillain who's taken on different identities throughout history and in the modern day poses as a successful wealthy businessman while hiding his villainous plot.
* HelmetsAreHardlyHeroic: In the film's prologue, he is fully dressed in armor as Yaotl. However, while he is wearing his armor again in the present day, Max just puts his helmet aside and doesn't wear it for the final fight. In fact, it's the only thing that doesn't disintegrate with him. Considering he doesn't expect to fight, it seems he's wearing the armor more as a keepsake than for battle.
* JuliusBeethovenDaVinci: Comes with the territory of being immortal. He's been multiple figures in history and none are aware of his true one.
* MeaningfulName: "Yaotl" is an indigenous Aztec word meaning "warrior," or "sower of discord." Considering the vaguely Aztec look of his and the generals' armor, it makes sense.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He is revealed to be Yaotl, cursed with immortality after opening the portal 30 centuries ago but has not physically aged even one year.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Possibly unintentional, but he is one to C.F. Volpehart from the [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003 2003 series]] episode ''[[Recap/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003S3E14TheDarknessWithin The Darkness Within]]''. They are both ReallySevenHundredYearsOld people who are [[WhoWantsToLiveForever cursed with immortality]], who are very rich people in the present day and are responsible for unleashing deadly monster(s) and [[spoiler: in the end, once they are cured of their immortality, they are both ReducedToDust, resulting in a funny moment with Michelangelo being disgusted]].
* VirtuousCharacterCopy: Despite being based off of ComicBook/VandalSavage, as mentioned above, unlike Savage, Winters has realized that being immortal is a curse, and gave up on his quest for world domination, preferring to rest in peace.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: Max Winters, after three thousand years of regret and loneliness, cannot find it in himself to bear the curse of immortality any longer and wants to lift it.

Siblings and allies of Yaotl, who were turned into statues after he gained imortality. They are resurrected in the present in Winters' quest to lift the curse. 32----
* ActorAllusion: General Gato has the name and [[Creator/FredTatasciore voice actor]] of one of the first villains of ''Anime/{{Naruto}}''.

* TheDragon: General Aguila is Yaotl's second in command.
* EvilSoundsDeep: General Aguila has a deep voice, courtesy of Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson.
* LivingStatue: Brought to life by reanimating devices put on their chests.
* OutOfFocus: General Serpiente and General Mono have less attention put on them than General Aguila and General Gato. Serpiente only has a single line while Mono has the least amount of attention and no dialogue.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: All of them are dark statues that, when activated, have red highlights.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: All of them have glowing red eyes.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: General Serpiente is the only female Stone General.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:They become this to Yaotl when they learn his true motives.]]
* TakenForGranite This is their fate after Yaotl's portal gets opened, while Yaotl is granted with immortality, releasing the thirteen monsters in the process.
* TheVoiceless: General Mono doesn't speak, but grunts and growls. However, he does talk in the video game.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: [[spoiler:Averted, they WANT to live forever since they haven't been alive in all the centuries that they were turned to stone and believe Yaotl has become soft and weak.]]

----
* FatBastard: He's an obese, cruel soldier.
* LaserGuidedKarma: At the beginning of the movie, him and his goons steal the supplies that were meant for a village. A few minutes later, all of them get taken out by Leo.
* MacheteMayhem: When Leo reveals himself to him, he picks up a machete.
* StarterVillain: Introduced at the start of the movie, he's taken out a few minutes later by Leo.
* UncertainDoom: When his goons get taken out, Leo reveals himself to him. Santino pulls out a machete and the two charge at each other. The scene cuts, implying that Leo killed him.
