!!Tropes that apply to all characters
* OralTradition: Each of these characters and their story were made up on the fly by Eloy when he was distracting a crowd of rat-folk children. They were so entranced by it that the story spread into an UrbanLegend over time.

!!Billy Punchyface
A rat-man folk hero famous for punching out a troll twice his size (which is very small for a troll, but very large for a rat-man.) He is the rightful heir to the Punchyface Family Dojo, and is on a quest to claim his birthright from the mob. He is played by Kirran.
----
* AncestralWeapon: His father's gold-colored punching gloves.
* BareFistedMonk: He's all about punching.
* BoozeBasedBuff: Unintentionally, but after Billy gets a bit tipsy from Ricky's bottomless whisky, Kirran is suddenly getting higher rolls and chances for attacking and causing damage while narrowly avoiding Bruno's hits.
* ContinuityCameo: Eloy made an illusory puppet of Billy to attack "Ray the Dancing Zombie," another of Eloy's fictional characters.
* DavidVsGoliath: The David to Bruno's Goliath.
* FlatEarthAtheist: He doesn't believe in anything he can't punch.
* HandwrapsOfAwesome: He starts the adventure with these before inheriting his father's golden boxing gloves.
* HonorBeforeReason: Played with. He would definitely accept a one-on-one duel with Bruno, but not someone like Johnny Smiles. That decision ultimately works out for him.
* InTheHood: If Kirran's look as him is any indication, he wears one.
* LightningBruiser: Besides his prodigious strength, the combination of his rage boost and his inherited boxing gloves, which flow with the spirit of his father, allow him to attack ''three'' times per turn.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Kirran has a ''very'' hard time keeping up a consistent accent for Billy. Drops it by the sequel.
* OlderAndWiser: Though one year had only passed between adventures, it's clear that, while still hotheaded, Billy's a bit more sedate than before, likely due to having been an instructor at the dojo since then.
* SpoofAesop: "Violence isn't the answer if your enemy is a bear trap."
* TooDumbToLive: Downplayed, willingly punches a bear trap because he was told he couldn't. He gets his hand caught in it.
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: He would very much like to solve every problem by punching it.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Billy shares his player Kirran's fear of deep water, which becomes a problem in the second one-shot when the party have to visit the bottom of the ocean.

!!Pappy Punchyface
Billy's late father, Deimos and Ricky's uncle, previous owner of the Punchyface Family Dojo, and legendary prizefighter.
----
* FriendToAllChildren: He helped all the children learn the art of punching.
* OldMaster: He was of a very advanced age at the time of his passing.
* PosthumousCharacter: The origin of Billy Punchyface opens at his funeral.
* SpiritAdvisor: Billy occasionally hears his voice giving him advice [[ButtMonkey and insulting Ricky.]]

!!Deimos
A clergyman in the religion of Deimos, a close friend of Billy, and Ricky's brother. [[spoiler: His real name is Miguel Raton, but he is unable to relinquish this info due to a religious oath.]] He is played by Zito.
----
* AccidentalMurder: Deimos planned to knock out the gnolls who work for Johnny, but ruined his own plan by blowing up one of their skulls with an eldritch blast.
* TheFace: Traditional example, being more eloquent and rational than either Billy or Ricky.
* FlippingTheBird: His reaction towards the lawyer reading Pappy Punchyface's will asking for his original name.
* IndyPloy: Deimos is the schemer of the group, but is usually improvising and flying by the seat of his pants.
* TokenReligiousTeammate: Is a member of the Cult of Deimos and is helping Billy reclaim the Dojo.

!!Ricardo "Ricky" Raton
Deimos' brother. He's trained in the druid arts, and is both a rat-man and a were-kangaroo. He is played by Grant.
----
* ButtMonkey: Ends up on the receiving end of a lot of crap during the Gaiden episode. Includes, but not limited to: getting caught and ends up getting thrown out of the wedding, missing both a kick and punch in one battle, and failing a bunch of roll checks.
* GreenThumb: His druid magic primarily involves plants, such as when he summons vines to entangle some of Johnny Smiles' goons.
* MoralityPet: It often falls to Ricky to keep Billy from punching things at inappropriate or inopportune times.
* PutOnABus: By virtue of Grant being out of town that week (with Kaiser-as-Cassius taking his place at the table), Ricky's mentioned to be away on a personal sabbatical to calm the kangaroo spirit within him.
* UndyingLoyalty: Discussed, when he wonders why he and Deimos are in on this anyway. Partially going meta, they're reminded that they were also included in the will, and are close ChildhoodFriends of Billy, so they also have personal stakes in this conflict. Otherwise, the brothers play this straight.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Ricky can transform into his were-kangaroo form whenever he needs to, but is known to slip between forms when excited.

!!Johnny Smiles
A shark-like merman and high-ranking member of Don Tigre's underdark mafia.
----
* BigBad: For the Gaiden special.
* BusCrash: [[spoiler: Is killed in the sequel when his BadBoss tendencies combined with his dangerous schemes become too much for his remnant sharkmen gang]]
* DirtyCoward: He clearly would rather have his goons fight for him and turns tail as soon as he gets the chance. This backfires on him badly.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: He is the antagonist for most of the campaign until he is defeated, resulting in the party needing to take on Bruno.
* DisproportionateRetribution: According to Templeton, Johnny bit half of his ear for no reason other than to prove how tough he was when he appeared in the neighborhood. This is the reason why Templeton hates his guts.
* FauxAffablyEvil: In contrast to his boss. He's more focused on showing off his strength and making money than with staying in the good graces of the community, yet acts friendly as if it means little.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:Is this in the sequel, as the entire scheme is ultimately his doing, even if he'd already been dead by the time the heroes learn of his role in Chomsky's kidnapping]].
* InTheBack: As soon as he sics Bruno on Billy, he turns tail, but this leaves him wide open for Billy to knock him out cold.
* StealthPun: He's a shark, and a debt collector of Don Tigre's mafia. [[DontExplaintheJoke He's a loan shark.]]
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Nobody, not even his own boss, likes him for his bullying tendencies. Don Tigre is all too willing to be rid of him (and would've instantly done so a long time ago were it not for pesky mafia loyalty issues), as does Bruno when the latter proclaims to take over Smiles' mob even when the latter has only been knocked out cold by Billy. [[spoiler:Extends to even a gang comprised of his own kind and thus is finally killed for it]].

!!Chompsky
An artificer who lives on the coast outside Billy's hometown.
----
* GoodParents: Is this to Cassius. While he does endorse Cassius' involvement in the plot to bring Smiles down, he does genuinely support Cassius' dream of being able to punch as hard as his other golems.
* PunnyName: He's a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_Chomsky Gnome named Chompsky]].
* TheEngineer: Not only has he crafted many golems, he's made several outright mecha out of barrels.

!!Cassius
A clay golem made by Chompsky. He becomes Billy's apprentice in hopes to become as strong as his older brothers. Played in the sequel by [=KaiserNeko=].
----
* TheApprentice: He trains under Billy in the art of punching.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Not so innocent that he's averse to violence, but he isn't fond of the adults' plan to use deception against Smiles.
* FromASingleCell: Played with. He can't regenerate but he can be repaired so long as a small bit of him still remains.
* InformedAttribute: In the sequel, his compatriots keep mentioning his supposed temper issues, of which he never shows any signs.
* MeaningfulName: [[UsefulNotes/MuhammadAli His name is Cassius, he's made of clay, and wants to learn how to box]]. Grant even realizes it [[LateToThePunchline belatedly]].
* MotorMouth: Kaiser plays his youthfulness as such, as the boy can end up trailing before either Billy or Deimos cut in.
* OlderAndWiser: Or rather, older and more confident.
* RubberMan: By virtue of being made of clay, he's able to sink his head in his torso to avoid punches.
* StoneWall: Said of this by Chompsky due to being made of clay: can take a lot of hits, but his own punches don't do much damage. We never get a chance to see it in action, though.

!!Templeton White
Another member of the cult of Deimos, who is also known officially by that name. He wants revenge against Johnny Smiles, who bit half his ear off.
----
* GodzillaThreshold: As with Deimos above, any member of the cult withholds their personal identity and face, only being referred to as Deimos. To reveal one's face and name is sacrilegious. However, he chooses to do this to both Billy's party and Don Tigre to show Smiles' heinousness, in his case, Smiles' biting off half of his left ear.
* ItsPersonal: The reason for being willing to commit the above sacrilege and throwing his personal support to Billy's cause even when the cult cannot help.
* PunnyName: Presumably named for '''Templeton''', the rat from E.B. '''White''''s novel ''Literature/CharlottesWeb''.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: While Don Tigre has compensated the cult for Smiles' assault on Templeton, and while on the surface, Templeton also seems to have swept the issue under the rug, enough persuasion reveals this to be the case deep down.

!!Don Tigre
An underdark mafia boss who cares deeply about having a good relationship with the community. He is also Johnny Smiles' superior.
----
* BenevolentBoss: Has shown to be nothing but this in his interactions with the Punchyface party, and even enjoys a mutual relationship with the dojo by sending his men-in-training there to improve their combat skills.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He rewards the team for being respectful during his daughter's wedding.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodGangster: A strict adherent of this, and the reason he holds no love for Johnny Smiles' cruelty and callousness, as well as sees the value of Billy keeping the Punchyface Dojo.
* NobleDemon: An honorable and friendly man for a mob boss. He even alerts Billy and co. instantly when word gets to him that Chomsky has been kidnapped, knowing they'd all benefit from Chomsky being safe.
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: BenevolentBoss example. The instant he hears of Chomsky being in danger, he immediately summons Billy, Deimos, and Cassius and tells them to find and rescue Chomsky in exchange for lifting any potential debts they or Pappy Punchyface owe him, even if such a condition wouldn't have been necessary to motivate them.
* PragmaticVillainy: What sets him apart from [[StupidEvil Smiles.]] He runs the mob but knows that they have to maintain good relations with the people in order to succeed and notes he can't just lift Billy's debt as he ''is'' running a business after all.

!!Bruno
The very troll who Billy Punchyface is famous for defeating in a boxing match.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: Cut off his own feet because he was too big to fit through doors.
* BloodKnight: He loves fighting, especially if it's a fair contest.
--> "If you punch me too hard, I leave in pieces. But maybe you will leave in pieces, that's why punching's so fun!"
* DefeatEqualsFriendship: Downplayed. Bruno and Billy were never really enemies, they just saw each other as honorable opponents. He and Billy stay on good terms after the fight.
* HandicappedBadass: He still towers over Billy and is still a troll with the strength of one, nearly trashing him in the first round alone.
* HonorBeforeReason: Would willingly use a time-out, just to have another round at Billy, instead of finishing him off in their match. This ends up being his downfall. He's completely fine with this, though. He also gives Billy back the deed to the dojo, as promised.
* HuskyRusskie: Ben gives him a heavily exaggerated Russian accent.
* TheStarscream: As soon as Smiles is knocked out cold, he proclaims himself the new boss of Smiles' mob.
* WorthyOpponent: The reason he challenges Billy, gives him a chance to recuperate and prevent him simply giving out a CurbStompBattle, as well as how they see each other when they part.

!!Dawn Tigre
A schoolmaster and the daughter of Don Tigre who helps Billy and friends.
----
* PunnyName: Was named "Dawn" so her name would be a homonym to her father's, which she doesn't appreciate.
* RebelliousPrincess: Downplayed. She's not fond of her father's business, and certainly not her name sounding like his, but she willingly helps the heroes when they establish their connection to him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: TFS Saturday Morning Special Characters]]
!! Mumja
An evil mummy who is also a ninja, and the Natural Wonders' Arch Enemy in the Saturday Morning verse.
----
* ArchEnemy: The Wonders main foe.
* AscendedMeme: Is based off a funny piece of fan art Lani took a liking to.
* BigBad: Of the Saturday Morning Cartoon Special
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: A ninja mummy, or a mummy who was trained to be a ninja, nobody knows for sure.

!!Cleocatra
Mumja's second-in command.
----
* TheBaroness: An homage to the archetype
* {{Catgirl}}: A Tabaxi
* DarkActionGirl: Is arguably the toughest fight of the episode.
* MsFanservice: Explicitly called such by Lani.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Project Omega Special Characters]]
!! Hank Zappa
A middle-aged former boxer played by Grant, he's out of his GloryDays and desperate for a way to get back on top. He didn't want superpowers, but he won't hesitate to use them.
----
* BerserkButton: Loses all restraint against the guards after they show they're willing to use lethal force against a child.
* LightningBruiser: Literally: as a boxer, he can give and take hits, and also electrocute people.
* ReluctantHero: The only one of the player characters who initially turns down the chance to become a superhero, believing he's not up to the task.
* ShockAndAwe: His powers are based around lightning, and he can zap just about anything even remotely conductive.
* StevenUlyssesPerhero: His last name, Zappa, goes perfectly with his newfound lightning powers.

!! Morton Faults
A ginger kid played by Zito whose 6th birthday is coming up, he initially doesn't ask a lot of questions about his situation as long as he's allowed to watch TV and play with Legos, but starts to wonder why Jonny won't explain where his parents are.
----
* GlassCannon: Comes with being a five-year-old kid.
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: Of all the party, he is the one who takes the most damage, and also the one with a healing ability.
* HeroicBSOD: Verges on this after Jonny dies, and only copes by focusing on his desire to be a superhero.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he muses that he'd like to be a superhero, although this interest might have developed after he gained superpowers.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Doesn't hesitate when Omega Maiden asks him to join her.
* ParentalAbandonment: He was orphaned in some sort of accident, then loses his next parental surrogate on top of that. Thankfully, Omega Maiden successfully fills in that void at the end.
* RealityWarper: His ability to reconfigure any matter to his will verges on this.
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: Being able to make anything out of anything else, does this several times. Initially he makes weaponized toys, but by the end he loses all restraint and just makes a sword.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Zito unabashedly has the kid swearing and flipping birds at certain times. Justified considering everything he's gone through and the company's suddenly surrounded himself with. He also barely copes with the loss of his remaining surrogate parent, seemingly more unfazed than he clearly is, and is borderline sadistic when taking his fury out on Victor's [[MoralMyopia morally myopic]] ass.

!! Butters the Cat
Played by Brian, this seemingly ordinary cat has a lot on his mind. He doesn't like being locked up, and takes a shine to those who feel the same.
----
* TheDreaded: Despite being the least physically intimidating of the player characters, all the guards are terrified of him because of his ability to mess with their minds.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Looks, acts, and sounds like a normal cat, and has a cute name. Is also capable of not only killing people, but forcing them to kill each other.
* PsychicPowers: Capable of telepathy and telekinesis which can be turned up to full-blown mind-control and psychic blasts.
* VocalDissonance: Has a normal cat voice, but his mental voice is described as a pleasant bass.

!!Omega Maiden
Seemingly the world's first and only superhero, her actions have devastated worldwide crime and inspired great admiration, until she suddenly vanished a few weeks ago.
----
* TheAce: Almost godlike in power and universally beloved.
* AllYourPowersCombined: {{Inverted}}. She [[ComboPlatterPowers possesses all of the other characters' powers]] because their powers were copied from her.
* ComboPlatterPowers: She has all the player characters' abilities, and then some.
* EmotionBomb: Her presence instills calm in others, at least who aren't the subject of her ire.
* MamaBear: While even just glancing the plight of the escapees already sets her off, noticing that one of them is a five-year-old child makes it worse.
* MostCommonSuperpower: Mentioned in Lani's description when the party first sees her.

!! Jonny
Morton's favorite guard, he plays Go Fish with the kid, once let him see his gun, and is the only one who seems to feel bad about him being kept in a mysterious science facility.
----
* MookFaceTurn: His misgivings with what the facility is doing cause him to try to help the player characters escape.
* SacrificialLion: In his efforts to get the trio to safety, he gets killed in the fight with his former boss. This causes even more trauma to poor Morton.

!! Commander Blutz
Leader of the facility's guards.
----
* AffablyEvil: Makes small talk and even-handed comments about the party's abilities while he tries to kill them.
* {{Cyborg}}: has mechanical parts that make him more lethal in battle.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Is quickly frustrated by his {{mooks}}' incompetence.

!! Dr. Victor Vex
A former compatriot and possible lover of Omega Maiden, he had his own ideas of how to use superpowers to make the world a better place.
----
* MoralMyopia: Is full-on this trope, hammily lamenting about his losses, while openly disregarding the very lives and hardships of the heroes, including that of a ''five-year-old child who has lost his parents and has just lost his surrogate parent''.
* PsychoExBoyfriend: In his mind, he seems to think that rendering Omega Maiden comatose and filling the world with superheroes made from her blood would impress her.
* PuzzleBoss: He has at least some resistance to all the trio's powers. The easy solution to defeating him is to break his computer and thus wake up Omega Maiden, who curbstomps him.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He believes that creating new superheroes will help the world, even if that means capturing the currently most eminent superhero to do it.
* WouldHurtAChild: Was perfectly willing to kill Morton if he resisted. He does manage to shoot the kid, but not grievously hurt him. This becomes his undoing when Omega Maiden is awoken.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: "It Came from the Nebula" Kobold One-Shot Characters]]

!! Mister Shiftspring
A Bugbear who runs the failing pit stop called the Toad in the Hole, which has been through some things as he deals with the everyday problems of running a failing gas station. He sends the party off on their misadventure to get better meat.

!! John Smog
The Toad in the Hole's Mechanic and Wizard. He's...odd, but enormously helpful.
----
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Though he may not immediately show it, John is just ''strange''.
* KillItWithFire: John's usual reaction to problems that doesn't involve illusions is to blow them up.
* NotSoFakePropWeapon: His "gun" is obviously a toy, but he uses it to fire offensive spells, so it's still deadly.
* ThePowerOfCreation: Downplayed- as a conjurer, he can make anything he imagines, but it glows conspicuously and doesn't last long. Nevertheless, he keeps trying to convince people the things he spontaneously makes are real.

!! Brundle
The Toad in the Hole's cook. He's a grumpy old kobold who just wants to get paid.
----
* TheComicallySerious: Never breaks out of a deadpan snarl.
* TheFace: Pretty early on, he adopts the role for the group as he's the one [[OnlySaneMan who's most put together]].
* OnlySaneMan: Between dealing with John's weirdness and Williamsmith's literal DramaQueen attitude, it's clear that the war veteran is constantly facepalming in his mind.
* ShellshockedVeteran: slightly parodied as "the war" is never commented on beyond it existing.

!! Williamsmith
A failed former actor and the Toad in the Hole's server.
----
* DramaQueen: Williamsmith simply believes everything around him is beneath him and reacts with typical drama student disdain for everything.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: His favored enemies are humans...and other kobolds.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name is all one word.
* WaitingForABreak: A trained actor, he believes he's only working food service until the right job comes along.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He has a severe revulsion for any creature with hair.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: "Terror at Grimhaven" Halloween One-Shot]]
!!Doctor Theodore Sleen
A MadScientist who came to Grimhaven after receiving a letter from someone asking to meet him. Played by Zito.
* ArtificialZombie: Can make these with his reanimation serum.
* CombatMedic: Is the designated healer of the party but is more than capable of defending himself if need be.
* {{Expy}} Of [[Film/ReAnimator Herbert West]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: Doctor Sleen is generally calm, collected, and polite, but is just as cruel and evil as his companions.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Wears glasses (with the ScaryShinyGlasses verity on display in his art) and is as much a monster as Balls and Kane.
* MadDoctor: Sleen has [=PhDs=] in Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine, and is also quite insane.
* MadScientist: Again, see above.
* MagicPlasticSurgery: Part of his skillset and the subject of his first trial, to reconstruct the hapless test subject Gary into the likeness of Mary Lou.
* NonActionGuy: Downplayed. While he can hold himself should push come to shove, he mostly lets his two companions and his reanimated minions do the fighting while providing support.
* NeverFoundTheBody: [[spoiler:At the end of the campaign, the Priest responsible for the events of the one-shot detonates a bunch of C4 in the church in an attempt to kill the party. Sleen's body is specifically mentioned to never have been found in the rubble.]]
* TheStoic: Sleen is almost always calm and doesn't seem to react to the horrific things that happen around him with anything more than scientific curiosity.
* TeamDad: Ends up being this due to being the most mature member of the group, having to look after his "idiot children".

!!Balzathoth
A demon from Hell that was somehow summoned to inhabit the body of a man reconstructed into the visage of a woman. Played by Ben.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: There's one moment where amidst his anguish and screaming due to being the possessed meatbag, Gary actually chuckles at the party's antics before going back to his torment.
* TheAntichrist: Not him, but his offspring...or any of them would be if the women he kept impregnating in the past didn't keep getting killed.
* DemonicPossession: Normally possesses the body of a poor shmuck named Gary, he sometimes jumps from the body into others to act either as a minion or just to mess with them.
* HolyBurnsEvil: Naturally.
* InkSuitActor: As if the official art didn't make it obvious, it's pretty clear Balls is just Ben as a demon.
* LaughablyEvil: Definitely an evil demon from hell that relishes in making others suffer at his own amusement. But he's hilarious and fun about it considering he's just an even more crude Ben.
* RedBaron: Balzathoth has a few but the only ones mentioned are the Lord of Rot and the Father of Salem.
* TechnologyMarchesOn: Since the last time he was on the earthly plane was in the Dark Ages, he's very much fascinated by the sheer advancements in technology since then, like a smartphone map, a gun (though he doesn't know how to use it), and the fact that he chose to terrorize a drive-in theater over a carnival on account of having seen clowns last time.
* VillainsOutShopping: [[spoiler: After the TotalPartyKill forcing Balls out of "Gary Lou's" body, Beelzebub greets him at a portal back to Hell, inviting him to go bowling, and just having a chat like buddies they are]].
* VomitIndiscretionShot: Part of his skillset when possessing someone he can use projectile vomiting as an attack.

!!Kane
A undead SerialKiller native to Grimhaven who follows Dr. Sleen and Balls, believing Balls to be his beloved Mary Lou. Played by Grant.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The reason he's so attached to Mary Lou, even in undeath.
* BerserkButton: Teenagers in general and people harming Mary Lou seem to be Kane's.
* DumbMuscle: Kane isn't exactly bright but he is incredibly strong.
* {{Expy}} Of [[Franchise/FridayThe13th Jason Voorhees]], but also a bit of [[Literature/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame the original Quasimodo]] in his backstory.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: Kane uses the body of a teenager he killed as an improvised club and would proceed to kill two people with the body.
