[[header:The New Imperial Combat Revue]]

In 1930, the Great Demon War led to the disappearance of [[Characters/SakuraWarsFlowerDivisionOriginalImperialCombatRevue the original Revue's Flower Division]] and the world achieved peace. Sumire Kanzaki became the Imperial Theater's general manager in Ichiro Ogami's place, but in 1938, [[HappyEndingOverride she sensed the demons' return]], so she reorganized the Imperial Combat Revue, recruiting Hatsuho Shinonome and Clarissa "Claris" Snowflake as the first members of the [[Characters/SakuraWarsNewImperialCombatRevueFlowerDivision new Flower Division]]. As with their previous incarnation, the Revue puts on stage performances and fights the demons, but on a downsized scale because the Battle of Tokyo significantly damaged their theater operations. In addition, the Revue is also a member of the World Luxury Operatic Federation (WLOF).

In 1940, naval ensign Seijuro Kamiyama is selected to lead the Flower Division in their efforts to regain their former glory by participating in the third biennial Combat Revue World Games just as the demons finally launch an attack on Tokyo after ten years of peace.

[[folder:In General]]

* AllForNothing: Ten years of peace fighting the demons went down the drain as by the time Seijuro Kamiyama is appointed the Revue's commander in ''VideoGame/SakuraWars2019'', it has become a dysfunctional farce. Claris and Hatsuho, in particular, are devastated about how the current division's members aren't motivated enough. What's worse is that the Imperial Japanese Army is planning to shut down the revue if they don't bring in better results in battle and stage performances.
* CriticalStaffingShortage: While the new Imperial Combat Revue's theater operations brings in a lot of customers, it is short of publicity staffers.
* GloryDays: Before the Great Demon War, they were already famous as a theater/fighting troupe. By the time of ''VideoGame/SakuraWars2019'', ten years have passed and the division seeks to regain their glory through recruiting new actresses/fighters as well as participating in the Combat Revue World Games.
* PerpetualPoverty: Since the Great Demon War damaged the revue's theater operations, it has a much smaller budget and its theater operations have declined precipitously.
* StillWearingTheOldColors: They still wear the symbols used by the previous combat revue.
* WonTheWarLostThePeace: Although the original Flower Division eradicated the demons at the cost of [[SealedEvilInADuel sealing themselves]] in the Phantom Capital, that threat didn't actually go away. The theater's smaller budget and lack of motivation from the new combat revue members didn't help matters either.

A classmate and rival of Seijuro Kamiyama, Reiji serves as the group's mechanic and set designer.
----
* ButtMonkey: Tends to be on the receiving end of the anime's humor at his expense as Kamiyama's not there to take it for him.
* TheDeterminator: It doesn't matter if he's exhausted, injured, or even mortally wounded, he ''WILL'' get his Spirical Armors working for the Flower Division.
* EpicFail: During the 5th episode of the anime, he sends out a small robot to fight a demon after a delightfully hammy intro. Said robot is destroyed in a single hit.
* TheEngineer: He's the main developer of the Revue's mechas, including the Mugens.
* RefusedByTheCall: Originally trained to use Spirical Armor like Kamiyama, only to find out that he doesn't have the spiritual power necessary to operate one, so he changed his career to become a engineer. His goal is to create a mech that doesn't require spiritual power to operate.
* TheRival: He and Kamiyama were rivals when they were training at the military academies.
