[[folder:The Five Male Students]]
!!As a whole:
* FourPhilosophyEnsemble: Kiyoshi is the Conflicted - a selfless NiceGuy, yet terrified when he has to deal with his more perverted side; Gakuto is the Realist - a NiceGuy and loyal friend who is also very good at logical, strategic thinking; Shingo is TheCynic - has no problems betraying the others and prioritizes his safety; Andre is the Optimist - cheerful and always makes the mood lighter when things get rough, and Joe is the Apathetic - the weird one living in his own world and generally avoids contact with others.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Kiyoshi is Eclectic - balanced, levelheaded and kind with both extroverted and introverted traits; Gakuto is Phlegmatic - thoughtful and a kind and loyal friend; Andre is Sanguine - cheerful, carefree and friendly NiceGuy; Shingo is Choleric - cocky, egotistical and initially only concerned with himself, and Joe is Melancholic - the most introverted, neurotic and fragile guy in his group despite his stoic demeanor.
** For the most recurring girls in the anime, Mari is Melancholic - serious and aloof; Meiko is Choleric - vicious and sadistic; Chiyo is Phlegmatic - friendly and kind, and Hana is Sanguine - cheerful and deceptively psychotic.
* LovableSexManiac: All of them are - everyone to a different extent - genuinely lecherous individuals, and yet they are very likable all in all, with almost everyone among them being a NiceGuy, or a JerkWithAHeartOfGold at worst (Shingo).

!!Kiyoshi Fujino
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiyoshi.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/HiroshiKamiya (Japanese), Creator/AustinTindle (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Taishi Nakagawa

The main character of the series. A relatively normal young man with a talent for lying his way out of difficult situations. He is the first of the five boys to befriend a girl, and is currently the one with the most jail experience.
-----
* AboveTheInfluence: He refuses to take advantage of Chiyo's attempts to [[BeAWhoreToGetYourMan throw herself at him]] due to her feelings of insecurity and inferiority towards [[spoiler:her sister]].
* AccidentalHero: Happens twice early in the series with Hana. He accidentally witnessed Hana peeing outside and made her cry, thus saving the boys from her bullying antics for that particular day. Another time he accidentally peed on Hana which made her avoid guard duty for a few days, giving him and Gakuto opportunity to plan their break-out.
* AccidentalPervert: He's a bona fide pervert, but tends to be this towards Hana.
* AllLovingHero: While it's not immediately obvious, Kiyoshi proves himself to be incredibly altruistic time and time again, showing sympathy and outright concern for the USC even after everything they've done to him and his friends.
* BasedOnAGreatBigLie: His entire relationship with Chiyo is based on her mistaking Kiyoshi for a fellow sumo fan and him playing along with it. To both their credits, though, they ''do'' seem to genuinely get along pretty well as a couple and care about each other. [[spoiler: This, along with the countless other times he lied throughout the series, ends up biting him in the ass in the finale when all of it comes to the surface and ruins Chiyo's opinion of him (and by extension all men).]]
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: Chiyo learning of all the times that he'd lied to her and of his deeply perverted nature completely and utterly destroys her opinion of both him and the male gender in general.]]
* ButtMonkey: Took over Gakuto's ButtMonkey status after the first story arc. During the 2nd and 3rd story arc, he was frequently on the receiving end of violence from Mari and Hana, exposed his genitals to all schoolgirls during the Sports Festival (Hence becoming the school's new pariah), along with many other unfortunate incidents.
* ChickMagnet: He currently has two different girls vying for his attention (Chiyo and Hana) with several others becoming flustered at the sight of him shirtless.
** On the flipside, pretty much the rest of the student body absolutely hates his guts.
* ChildhoodFriends: He's known Shingo since middle school.
* ClassicalAntiHero: While Kiyoshi is a genuinely good person and proves to be kind and selfless, he also is quite cowardly at times, especially when dealing with his perverted side.
* CovertPervert: He's actually just as much of a depraved pervert as the rest of the guys; he just usually keeps it to himself.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: In the anime.
* {{Determinator}}: His intense crush on Chiyo drives most of his actions throughout the series. He engineers his jailbreak solely to go on a date with her, and sacrifices his [[SacredFirstKiss first makeout session]] to Hana in order to further the boys' data-gathering plan to save themselves from expulsion. All so that he may continue attending the same school as Chiyo.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: [[spoiler:While initially he does get Chiyo to accept his feelings, Hana forcing Chiyo to see that Kiyoshi is still wearing the former's panties gets the latter to completely reject him.]]
* DistractedByTheSexy: A ''very'' common problem for him. Kiyoshi is smart, driven and generally competent, but risks screwing up countless times whenever he catches a glimpse of an upskirt or a nipslip.
* DrivenToSuicide: Following the Calvary battle, the whole female student body isolates Kiyoshi and calls him a gross pervert. It was enough humiliation to make him attempt to hang himself until [[InterruptedSuicide Chiyo came by]].
* TheEveryman: Compared to the rest of the boys he's seemingly rather plain. He doesn't have an obvious quirk like them, is perverted but not as overtly as his friends, tends to be the most rational of the group, and his main love interest is also rather plain compared to those of his friends.
* FailureHero: [[spoiler: By the final chapter, he is forced to acknowledge that, on top of [[DidNotGetTheGirl failing to become a couple with Chiyo]], his primary goal across the series, he also did not grow as a person from his experiences at all.]]
* FatalFlaw: His refusal to acknowledge his perverted side, and his dishonesty. The former gets him into trouble because he feels like it's a part of him that can't be forgiven, and thus it feeds into the latter in a big way when [[spoiler:he straight up lies about willingly wearing Hana's panties]]. His lies only got more complex over time thanks to circumstances letting him get away with it, but when the moment comes where he's actually confronted with telling the truth, he embarrasses himself. He does eventually acknowledge these flaws, [[spoiler:albeit only after all his lies are exposed to Chiyo in the most degrading, humiliating way possible.]]
* FemaleGaze: A hilariously large amount of focus tends to be placed on his chest and ass at times.
* FireForgedFriends: Distrustful of Gakuto initially, but grows to respect, trust and admire him after the two begin working together to escape. Later on, he forms a friendship with [[spoiler:Mari]] under similar circumstances.
* HandsomeLech: While he is noted to be a very attractive boy in universe, it's pretty much wasted on his increasingly perverted tendencies.
* HeroicBSOD: After his disastrous first date with Chiyo ends with her calling him disgusting and his friends losing their trust in him for going out behind their backs, Kiyoshi genuinely considers giving up and getting expelled.
* HiddenDepths: He's surprisingly good at [[XanatosSpeedChess thinking on his feet]], which pulls him out of countless tight spots. Gakuto even admits that he's much smarter than he looks. On a grander scale, he's revealed himself countless times to be much more charismatic and altruistic than his introduction as a typical horny teenager would suggest.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:By wearing Hana's panties, he got himself into a world of trouble with Chiyo. After telling her every dirty thing he's done in the series, up to and including wearing Hana's panties, she asks him if he still has them on. He lies and says they're at home, despite still having them on. When Hana reveals that she's wearing Kiyoshi's boxers, she rushes at him and forcefully strips him to show Chiyo that yes, he's still wearing Hana's panties, thus humiliating him and exposing him.]]
* HumiliationConga: The final two arcs are a huge one for him. [[spoiler:By wearing Hana's panties and having his pants fall down during the Calvary battle, all the girls in school think him a pervert and he's ostracized. Then when time comes for Chiyo's birthday party, he's forced to admit all his perversions and wrongdoings, forcibly stripped to reveal he's ''still'' got Hana's panties on, and then proceeds to pee all over himself while Hana gloats.]]
* ImplausibleHairColour: His blue hair never goes commented on, despite every other character having relatively plausible hair colors.
* LargeHam: While he lives in a WorldOfHam, we get to hear his ''very'' overly dramatic InternalMonologue most frequently.
* TheLeader: Of the five male students. He united them and serves as a constant source of inspiration for them to never give up.
* MagneticHero: Kiyoshi is exceptionally talented at gaining the loyalty of others, which has allowed him to quickly earn the trust and respect of Gakuto, the Chariman and even [[spoiler: Mari]].
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: He gets [[AssShove stabbed in the ass twice]], each time bleeding profusely. The first time he didn't even notice it until Shingo pointed it out to Meiko, and the second time around he plays it off like it's nothing.
* MistakenForGay: Shingo misinterprets his and Gakuto's secret meetings as the two going off to have sex. After witnessing them in two NotWhatItLooksLike moments, he assumes the worst.
* MrFanservice: The most conventionally attractive of the men also has the highest tendency of getting naked and placed into erotic situations. He also spends much of the second arc wearing [[spoiler:the skin-tight crop top and cut-off shorts female prison uniform]]. He's also currently the only male character to be featured on one of the [[FanserviceCover Fanservice Covers]].
* NiceGuy: His perversions notwithstanding, by most accounts Kiyoshi is genuinely friendly, kindhearted and humble, and this is the main reason why Chiyo, Hana and possibly even [[spoiler:Mari]] all have crushes on him.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Even Kiyoshi falls prey to his perverted desires at times and, like the rest of the boys, deserves the resulting punishment for it. [[spoiler: This costs him Chiyo’s love in the end when Hana exposes him.]]
* ObliviousToLove: Incapable of recognizing that Hana is attracted to him, despite countless blatant hints. He's suggested to be so invested in his relationship with Chiyo that he doesn't even register the possibility that other girls may be interested in him.
* OnlySaneMan: He is constantly shown to be the most normal character in the entire series. Even his quirk of secretly being a fairly sketchy pervert comes off as insignificant and downright tame when ''every single other character'' is revealed to also be both perverted ''and'' bizarre.
* RunningGag: His tendency to hide out in bathrooms and bleed profusely from his ass leads to him and the others constantly using the excuse of him having terrible hemorrhoids. At one point he uses this as an excuse to keep Joe from getting into further trouble after he shoves him out of attacking Mari with a tree branch.
* SeriousBusiness: Being a pervert is an art form for Kiyoshi, who spends several panels in the manga debating to himself about the ideal way to fondle breasts. It ends up working in his favor when he is able to passionately explain why asses are better than breasts to earn the Chairman's respect and buy the guys more time to overturn their impending expulsion.
* ShootTheShaggyDog: [[spoiler: By the end of the series he actually succeeds his main goal of getting Chiyo to date him.....only for [[RelationshipSabotage Hana to reveal to Chiyo some damning information about Kiyoshi that completely shatters Chiyo's faith in him]]. Reflecting on everything Kiyoshi realizes a relationship between him and Chiyo was never going to work out since their relationship so far was built on a lie he told her in the beginning of the series that he did not peep in the girl's bathroom which snowballed into more lies from him downplaying how perverted he actually is]].
* StraightMan: While Kiyoshi is prone to joining the rest of the boys in indulging their perversions, he's by far the most normal and restrained of the bunch, causing him to frequently serve as this to them. As we learn more about the other characters, this starts to extend to the rest of the cast.
* TookALevelInBadass: While Gakuto and Shingo both also developed great physiques from all the labor they had to do, Kiyoshi is the only one who seems to have actually gotten stronger, being able to last almost two minutes in an arm wrestling match against Meiko whereas the other two were instantly pinned, losing only after [[DistractedByTheSexy getting hypnotized by her nipslip]].

!!Takehito "Gakuto" Morokuzu
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gakuto.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi (Japanese), Creator/EricVale (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Tokio Emoto

The brains of the boys. A somewhat overbearing nerd with an obsession with the ''Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms''. Gakuto ends up destroying his reputation among the student body due to a certain "pooping" incident, but is still able to form a friendship with the Official Student Council's Mitsuko Yokoyama.
-----
* AccidentalHero: Became one at the end of the Sports Festival. In the process of trying to save the Plastic Bottle Rocket idol, he contributed in diverting the direction of a helicopter that was about to collide with the school.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: While he begins the manga as a gangly nerd, he has a six-pack from the anime's beginning. His face is also generally drawn to be more attractive.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: He speaks in a very archaic manner, pretentiously so.
* BigEgoHiddenDepths: It's easy to write Gakuto off as an arrogant nerd from first impressions alone, but he very quickly proves himself to not only be every bit as smart as he acts like he is, but also an amazing friend who will put his life and reputation on the line for the sake of those he cares about. As the series goes on, he continues to show off just how outstanding of a guy he is, all without ever dropping his initial pretentiousness.
* ButtMonkey: Mainly in the first story arc. He's frequently on the receiving end of a lot of slapstick. He gets punished the most of all the boys by the USC, sometimes for cases he isn't even a part of. For the sake of getting his Guan Yu action figure he shits his pants (so he can make sound effects to help Kiyoshi's breakout through the restroom), gets into enough trouble to get his long hair shaved, and eventually had to destroy his action figure out of principle.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his eccentricities, he proves himself to be the most competent of the boys time and time again.
* {{Determinator}}: When it comes to getting his Guan Yu action figure no price is too high, even if it means shitting his pants in class and deliberately into enough trouble to have his hair shaved so Kiyoshi can use the clippings as a wig.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: A pale, gangly nerd with long and greasy black hair, Gakuto is a master of the NightmareFace. This lessens considerably after he has his ImportantHaircut.
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Dirty Four-Eyes", mostly used by Meiko, in reference to the pooping incident.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: After having his head shaved, he retains a crew cut for the rest of the series.
* FireForgedFriends: Initially seems to look down on Kiyoshi a bit, but comes to follow him with UndyingLoyalty after the two begin working together.
* FriendOrIdolDecision: When Gakuto first assists Kiyoshi in his escape, he does so in hopes that he'll pick up some limited-edition Guan Yu figurines, which he does. However, Meiko finds them and threatens to break them in order to expose Gakuto in aiding Kiyoshi's escape so their plan to get the boys expelled could come to fruition. [[spoiler:He rushes in to save them at the last possible second like anyone in his situation would... only to break them himself to save his friend, throwing away his aspirations and all of the humiliation he put himself through to obtain them.]]
* GeekPhysiques: He's a pale, gangly nerd. The anime bulks him up considerably, though he's still notably more pale and less toned than Kiyoshi and Shingo.
* HeroicSacrifice: Nonfatal example. To assist Kiyoshi in his breakout through the restrooms (both to get himself his Guan Yu figurine, and for the latter to be able to go to his date with Chiyo), he gives up whatever dignity he has left by recording himself literally shitting his pants in the middle of computer class.
* HonorBeforeReason: He destroys his Guan Yu figurine, both to avoid having to claim ownership before Mari and Meiko (and thus get the boys into further trouble), and because he could not live with the guilt of putting himself before his friends, even though he has already sacrificed so much (including his reputation) to get it.
* HypercompetentSidekick: While Kiyoshi is quite capable on his own, he'd go absolutely nowhere without Gakuto backing him up. Kiyoshi may be the leader of the boys, but Gakuto is most definitely the brains of the five.
* InsufferableGenius: Zigzagged. His use of AntiquatedLinguistics makes him come off as pompous and pretentious, and while he ''does'' give off the impression that he considers himself to be the smartest person in the room at all times, he is perfectly willing to publicly humiliate himself for the sake of his friends, showing him to be surprisingly humble.
* LargeHam: Gakuto is ''very'' theatrical. It helps that he speaks in AntiquatedLinguistics.
* MistakenForGay: Shingo misinterprets his and Kiyoshi's secret meetings about escaping as the two of them going off to have sex. He later confirms his theory to himself after witnessing a few NotWhatItLooksLike moments between the two in the shower.
* NiceGuy: Despite what first impressions may suggest, he's actually an amazing friend who will always put his loved ones before himself no matter how much he suffers for it.
* NightmareFace: While everyone suffers from this from time to time, it happens to Gakuto most frequently. Dramatic closeups of his gaunt face and piercing eyes are constantly used for comedic effect.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Has no problem getting touchy feely with Kiyoshi.
* NoSocialSkills: His idea of a FriendshipMoment is ranting about the [[UsefulNotes/SengokuPeriod Sengoku Jidai]] for three minutes straight without allowing the person he's talking to to get a word in. It's heavily implied that he didn't have any friends before meeting the other four.
* NumberTwo: The first of the boys to join Kiyoshi in his escape attempts and generally his (and later also [[spoiler:Mari's]]) go-to guy whenever he needs help.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Shitting his pants in class did terrible things to his already bad reputation. It earns him the nickname "shitty four-eyes" used frequently by Meiko, and even his friends can't resist poking fun at him for it well after the fact.
* {{Otaku}}: He's a hardcore Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms otaku, and bases almost everything he says or does off of it.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: He abuses this look constantly, especially when he's acting melodramatic.
* TheSmartGuy: Of the five male students. His intelligence and talent for strategy stands out even when compared to the likes of Mari.
* TheStrategist: He refers to himself as a "modern day tactician" and he's not wrong. He comes up with the most plans in the series and Kiyoshi probably wouldn't have been able to break out of prison were it not for his assistance. Later on all the boys count on him to come up with a plan to keep them from being expelled several times.
* ThrowTheDogABone: After a first arc dedicated to humiliating and torturing him for his selfless actions, Gakuto finally gets a break when he meets Mitsuko, a CuteClumsyGirl as obsessed with the ''Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms'' as he is, who doesn't care about his [[IncrediblyLamePun stained]] reputation. Of course, since Mitsuko is also a member of the ASC, things still aren't exactly going his way.
* TrueCompanions: Gakuto lives and breathes this trope. He's willing to throw away his reputation, possessions and happiness if it means keeping his friends safe. Kiyoshi is genuinely stunned when he realizes the lengths he's willing to take for his sake.
* UndyingLoyalty: Gakuto has risked his own well-being to protect his friends and their mission countless times. He's also thrown away several chances at obtaining happiness for himself for the very same reasons.
* VerbalTic: He ends his sentences with "-degozaru".
* WrongGenreSavvy: Gakuto lives the values preached in the ''Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms'', which results in him willingly making his life substantially worse for the sake of honoring his friends. It's actually portrayed in a positive light, as it proves to be a genuine asset in helping their plot to overturn their sentence and earns him respect and admiration from the other four.

!!Shingo Wakamoto
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shingo.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KenichiSuzumura (Japanese), Creator/CliffordChapin (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Masato Yano

The blonde, delinquent-looking one of the boys. Cocky and self-centered, but a decent guy at heart. Down the line, he enters an on-off relationship with a girl classmate, Anzu Yokoyama.
-----
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: While he was always the second most attractive of the boys, the anime softens his features to give him less of a FaceOfAThug and makes him look as {{Bishonen}} as Kiyoshi. He's also given a more visibly toned physique.
* TheAtoner: He deeply regrets his time as TheStoolPigeon, and has since sworn fealty to his friends following his HeelRealization.
* BetaCouple: He and Anzu's relationship provides a nice contrast to Kiyoshi and Chiyo's.
* BookDumb: Suggested to be a poor student, but is generally shown to be a pretty sharp guy who can keep up with Kiyoshi and Gakuto's logic most of the time.
* BromanticFoil: Shingo is generally the first to question and/or tease the other guys about their crushes, despite himself being no better when dealing with Anzu. His relationship with Kiyoshi is also very much a standard example of the dynamic between a protagonist and their bromantic foil, being childhood friends with conflicting personalities who tease each other about their respective romantic lives.
* CharacterDevelopment: The only one of the boys to go through notable development so far. His regret over his time as TheStoolPigeon has led to him becoming a much more reliable and helpful friend.
* ChildhoodFriends: He and Kiyoshi have known each other since middle school.
* TheDandy: He's quite concerned with his personal appearance, particularly his hair.
* DelinquentHair: His slicked back blonde hair is his most notable physical quality.
* DirtyCoward: The most likely of the five to break under pressure.
* FaceOfAThug: He's noted to have the looks of a delinquent even though he's anything but. Mostly because of his [[DelinquentHair blonde slicked back hair]].
* HeelRealization: After chewing out some kids for bullying their friend, he realizes that he's been doing the exact same thing and stops being the USC's mole, and with prodding from Anzu, who had a change of heart, he immediately heads back to school before 6:30 PM.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He gets angry at Kiyoshi for scheming behind the boys' backs to go on a date with Chiyo. Not too long after he does the same by becoming a spy for the USC in exchange for some free time.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Shingo is incredibly self-centered, and prioritizes his own safety above his friends. He's gotten a lot better over time though, especially after meeting Anzu.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he's not too bad of a guy, Shingo tends to be the first to sell out his friends to save his own skin. That said, he seems to hold them all in a high regard, and eventually comes to regret ratting them out so much that he becomes TheAtoner.
* TheLancer: Of the five male students. His cowardly nature makes him the most immediate foil to [[{{Determinator}} Kiyoshi]]. He's also the one who takes charge of the group after they start shunning Kiyoshi, as well as the second member of the group after Kiyoshi to get a girlfriend.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: While Joe and Andre were also left in the dark about Kiyoshi and Gakuto's first attempt at staging a breakout, Shingo is the one who takes the revelation the hardest, which causes him to sell them out to the USC.
* LooseLips: He tends to say whatever he likes, often to the misfortune of others who may have wanted it kept secret.
* TheMole: Becomes this for the USC midway through the first arc, disclosing information about the boys' breakout plans to them in secret in return for better quality food and occasional allowances into the city. He eventually goes against the USC after he becomes overcome with guilt over betraying his friends.
* {{Narcissist}}: He considers himself to be very good looking, and seems more interested in his hair than helping out at times.
* PaperTiger: He likes to present himself as a cool tough guy, but is generally quick to crack under pressure. Notably, during the arm wrestling match against Meiko, he lasts less than a second after building himself up as amazingly strong.
* ProgressivelyPrettier: [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness In the very first chapter]], he's drawn with buck teeth, freckles and is generally pretty goofy-looking. By the second chapter, the freckles and buck teeth are gone but he's now drawn with a FaceOfAThug. By the most recent chapters, he is given a lean, muscular build and a softer and generally more handsome face.
* RestrainedRevenge: Had this administered to him by the others. Of course, when he revealed that his spying duty had him spending time with a pretty girl, it became a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Screws up Gakuto and Kiyoshi's escape attempts multiple times through sheer obliviousness.
* TheStoolPigeon: He accepts the USC's deal to squeal on his co-inmates in exchange for getting above-average food, suspension of punishments, and free time under the guise of running errands. Of course, this was part of the USC's DTO, sending in Anzu to seduce him into delaying him for his 6:30 PM curfew (which would be counted as a breakout) by adjusting his watch 30 minutes behind.
* TookALevelInKindness: Following his HeelRealization, he and becomes a much more active and supportive friend as penance for his activities.
* {{Tsundere}}: Tries to act aloof and tough when talking with Anzu, but his severe case of CannotTalkToWomen results in him being a stammering, blushing wreck whenever she's nearby.
* UnresolvedSexualTension: His relationship with Anzu revolves around this.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Compared to Gakuto and his endearing, if absurd, brand of loyalty, Shingo is perfectly willing to backstab his buddies to save his skin.

!!Jouji "Joe" Nezo
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jou.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DaisukeNamikawa (Japanese), Creator/ChristopherBevins (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Daiki Miyagi

The hooded oddball of the five male students. Joe struggles the most of the boys to fit in at school, but was finally able to find a bright spot after being befriended by a girl classmate, Satou.
-----
* AnimalMotifs: Compares himself to a worker ant separated from its pack once he's finally freed. In prison, he was forced to work as a part of a group, which brought stability and purpose into his life. After being let out and distanced from the other guys, he instantly lost his way and became unable to function on his own.
* BerserkButton: He's mostly quiet and introverted, but he can get extremely violent if someone messes with his ants. He nearly stabs Andre with a fork for accidentally knocking over his ant farm and nearly stabs Mari with a broken branch when she tricks him into believing her crows ate his ants.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: Generally the quietest of the five boys in addition to being the weakest. If you do something to make him truly angry, however, he becomes as ferocious as a mad dog.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Easily the most eccentric of the boys.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Joe is a sickly weirdo most of the time, but becomes an unrestrained killing machine when his ants are threatened, to the point where he easily throws ''[[OneManArmy Meiko]]'' aside when she tries to stop him from protecting his ants.
* TheEeyore: The most morose of the boys.
* TheFaceless: The top portion of his face is never shown, as he's usually wearing a hoodie or just a hood. In cases where he's not wearing something over his head there's still something that manages to obscure the top portion. In the showers it was soap foam, and when [[spoiler: he was disguised as Gakuto he had bandages wrapping his hair and tinted glasses.]]
* FaceOfAThug: Much more so than Shingo, though it isn't commented on. He looks downright scary, but is generally harmless. When he's angry, however, he lives up to his looks.
* FriendToBugs: He likes insects, owning an ant farm with individually named ants!
* TheHeart: Of the five boys. His weak constitution makes him a constant source of worry to the other four and he tends to be the most emotionally vulnerable of the group.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: While all five of the boys qualify as being this with each other, Joe and Andre seem to be especially close.
* IncurableCoughOfDeath: Averted, as he has severe stomatitis which causes him to cough a lot, even cough blood in a few situations, but it doesn't seem life-threatening and it's even used for comedy most of the time.
* TheInsomniac: Apparently takes sleeping pills but even they don't work. The only time he slept soundly was during his prison sentence.
* InTheHood: He's the quietest of the boys and is always wearing a face-obscuring hoodie.
* TheLoad: While Kiyoshi's [[{{Determinator}} determination]] and [[TheLeader charisma]], Gakuto's [[TheSmartGuy smarts]] and willingness to pull [[HeroicSacrifice Heroic Sacrifices]], Shingo's former status as [[TheMole an inside man]] and Andre's [[TheBigGuy strength]] have all helped the guys out, Joe not only lacks any outstanding traits that contribute to the group in a unique and meaningful way, but is also so sickly that his friends actually have to take extra care of him when carrying out their plans. He's still always willing to lend a hand, though, so he at least avoids being one emotionally.
* LonersAreFreaks: While all of the boys are unpopular, Joe, who keeps to himself and prefers the company of ants over people, seems to be viewed as especially creepy by the female student body. This leads to him becoming depressed following his release from prison, as while all of the other guys are enjoying the company of a girl, he remains alone.
* MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold: Has a reputation as a creep and a weirdo, and generally shuns contact with others, but is shown to be extremely caring towards his ants and secretly desperate for friends.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: While all of the other boys besides Andre develop muscular physiques after weeks of hard labor, Joe somehow maintains his emaciated and skeletal frame. Naturally, he is the weakest of the five.
** His stint as a flasher in the OVA shows that he's bulked up quite a bit since then; now possessing a muscled physique.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After he accidentally stabs Kiyoshi, who took a blow meant for Mari.
* NiceGuy: Sure, he lives in his own world and is very quiet, shy and silent, if not socially inept, but he really cares for his friends and is overall a kind, affable and decent individual.
* NonActionGuy: His weak constitution makes him unreliable for physical labor. This is especially notable during the anime's opening sequence, where, while the other guys are shown getting beaten to a bloody pulp after getting caught trying to escape by the girls, Joe is simply shown coughing up blood, implying that his own sickliness managed to take him out before the girls even tried to. Subverted whenever his BerserkButton is pressed, where he becomes nearly unstoppable.
* NoSocialSkills: Much worse than Gakuto in this regard. Socializing with others is so stressful to him that he actually considers intentionally getting himself sent to prison again just to avoid it.
* PapaWolf: Loves his ants like his own children, and becomes a demon when their safety is threatened.
* TheQuietOne: Generally only speaks after being spoken to.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When sufficiently pissed off his eyes finally become visible, though they look more like a beast's than a man's.
* SanitySlippage: In the OVA, the fact that his friends (even [[ButtMonkey Gakuto]]) have become popular with the girls and he is left alone drives him mad and makes him commit assaults on girls and going naked around the school with his body tied by one of Andre's ropes (with a trench coat to cover for his acts) just to return to the prison when he was, as he miss the prison due the fun time he passed inside it and the fact that he feels empty and alone in the outside. [[spoiler: Fortunately, Satou's appearence and Andre's HeroicSacrifice makes him get over it and return to the normality.]]
* ShrinkingViolet: While all of the boys CannotTalkToWomen, Joe is easily the worst off socially. He even has problems holding a conversation with the other guys.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He and Andre get the least focus of the boys, and tend to goof around in the background while the other three are doing plot important things. They've become less of this more recently, as they've gotten more character focus and come into their own.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: He ends up having difficulty readjusting to life on the outside following his release.

!!Reiji "Andre" Andou

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KazuyukiOkitsu (Japanese), Creator/SonnyStrait (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Galigaligalixon

The big fat guy of the five male students. Andre is actually a huge masochist, a hobby that has put him in bizarre relationships with both the Underground Student Council's Meiko Shiraki, and the Official Student Council's Risa Bettou.
-----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: He really wants Meiko to be his mistress, but she's more repulsed by him than she is the other four.
* {{Acrofatic}}: Engages in some impressive acrobatics after he goes nuts.
* AnimalMotifs: A pig, fitting his huge build and unusual appearance.
* TheBigGuy: Of the five boys. He's easily the largest of them, and his strength is great enough to hold off [[OneManArmy Meiko]] for several minutes.
* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: [[spoiler:He eventually realizes that one of the reasons he can't accept Risa as his dom is because his feelings for her are far too romantic]].
* CovertPervert: Normally very soft-spoken and polite, especially compared to the more rambunctious Gakuto and Shingo, but is revealed to actually be a hardcore masochist up to the point where he starts to lose his mind after not getting punished enough.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his ridiculous looks, he is likely the second-strongest character in the series after Meiko, and may actually be stronger than her when in his punishment-deprived mode.
* DawsonCasting: The LiveActionAdaptation gets around portraying his improbable appearance by instead having him be conspicuously played by an overweight middle-aged man.
* FaceHeelTurn: After some "mental re-conditioning" by Risa, he teams up with the Official Student Council in the Sports Festival arc. He goes back to his friends and the Underground Student Council by the end of the festival.
* FanDisservice: While none of the nudity provided by the boys is intended to be titillating, the other four are at least drawn with well-toned and athletic physiques so they're easy to look at (especially [[MrFanservice Kiyoshi]]). When Andre is shown naked... it's downright disturbing, and intentionally so.
* GentleGiant: He's positively huge, but normally harmless and tends to act as the peacekeeper of the group. Risa's reconditioning of him made him a lot stronger and hostile for a day, during the Sports Festival.
* {{Gonk}}: All the characters have normal body proportions with the exception of Andre, who is large, has an egg-shaped body, a face that is way too small for the rest of his head, and over-sized Buddha-like earlobes. Surprisingly, however, his actual facial features are quite gentle-looking, making him [[UglyCute almost cute in a bizarre sort of way]]. Once SanitySlippage starts hitting him he becomes downright terrifying to look at, however.
* TheHeart: Usually attempts to calm the others down when things get rough between them.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Joe. While all five of the boys share an unbreakable bond of friendship, they spend more time with each other than with any of the other guys.
* IKissYourFoot: As a card-carrying masochist, he yearns to lick the feet of dominatrices. When Meiko orders him to lick her boots and Kiyoshi tells her to stop, he gets mad at Kiyoshi.
** During the cavalry battle, Meiko and Risa both compete for Andre's attention by offering their shoes for him to lick. As Andre is tempted by both, their offers escalate: Meiko spits on her shoe to add to its appeal to Andre, whereas Risa kicks off both her shoes and dangles her bare feet in front of Andre's face, revealing that she chose not to wear socks that day and made her feet as [[SmellyFeet stinky]] and drenched in sweat as possible because she knows Andre would like it.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: His nickname is clearly in reference to Andre the Giant.
* NiceGuy: Generally pretty placid and friendly. After accidentally knocking Joe's ant farm down, he apologizes to him and even offers to give his ants his food for the day simply because he doesn't want to fight with his friends. He lost this status for most of the second story arc and for the entire third major story arc, where he experiences SanitySlippage and teamed up with the ASC respectively. He seems to have reverted back to his NiceGuy status at the end of it.
* NightmareFace: Whenever he suffers SanitySlippage, Andre puts on a seriously disturbing look on his face.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: His proportions are so distorted compared to the other characters that he looks like he came from a completely different series.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:At the end of the series, he and Risa begin a normal teenage romance, and are the only pair to do so]].
* SanitySlippage: Two times in the series:
** The first one was when during the enactment of DTO (in which the boys are tricked into committing more violations to make them eligible for expulsion). Meiko deprives him of punishment, leaving him in a disastrous state until she tricks him into a breakout by luring him out of the prison, where she lay waiting beyond the barbwire fence. Desperate for punishment, he forces himself through the barricade before his sanity is restored after receiving the punishment.
** He later goes off the deep end and becomes a raving lunatic once [[spoiler:Risa convinces him that Meiko has repressed her dominatrix persona. The only time he regains his sanity is when his ideal version of Meiko is in front of him but this only lasts a couple of seconds at best.]]
* StoutStrength: Even after Kiyoshi, Gakuto and Shingo develop athletic physiques, Andre is still by far the strongest of them.
* TeamMom: Worries about the health of his friends frequently, most noticeably Joe.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He and Joe get the least focus of the boys, and tend to goof around in the background while the other three are doing plot important things. They've become less of this more recently, as they've gotten more character focus and come into their own.
* TooKinkyToTorture: He ''loves'' being abused by women, especially Meiko. At some point he gets addicted to her punishment, which is something the USC exploits by having Meiko stop doing so, which causes him to go crazy. It also means that Risa has difficulty dealing with him because unlike Meiko, she practices some level of restraint to her punishment. Later, Risa manages to gain control over Andre when she finds the "right" level of punishment.
* VocalDissonance: Particularly in the dub, where he's given a ridiculously throaty and high pitched voice despite his massive size.
* YourSizeMayVary: He's the tallest character in the series but not by much. At most he's a head taller than rest of cast. However, by the sports festival arc he's somehow became a giant, to where his forearm his larger than most of the cast. This is clearly a case of RuleOfFunny.

!!Mari Kurihara
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mari.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/SayakaOhara (Japanese), Creator/TiaBallard (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Hirona Yamazaki

The president of the Underground Student Council, daughter of the current Chairman, and older sister to Chiyo, Kiyoshi's crush. Mari has a huge disdain of boys, and a complicated history with the Official Student Council's Kate Takenomiya.
-----
* TheAce: An excellent student all-around who is highly regarded and admired by all of her peers. [[spoiler: Kate's jealousy of her fuels most of her actions.]]
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She has long dark blue hair, fair skin, an icy-cold disposition, and is popular among the student body.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Hates men and [[spoiler: willingly has sex with Kate at one point]], but is occasionally hinted to be attracted to Kiyoshi. It's also left up in the air as to whether her [[spoiler: aforementioned night with Kate]] was a case of PragmaticPansexuality or not.
* ArtisticAge: The way she's drawn, especially with her [[TheStoic always stern expression]], makes her look like a woman in her mid-twenties, despite being a high schooler
* TheBeastmaster: She has a flock of crows under her control that she's able to use for things like surveillance to enforce her rule about not talking to the boys and to attack people. During the second half of the story, she doesn't employ this "power" for some reason.
* BigBad: Of the first arc. She was in charge of the boys' discipline and is the main reason why their prison term gets progressively more hellish, albeit indirectly, as she delegates much of the work to Meiko and Hana. Later on she devises a plan to get them expelled. She loses this status after Kate asserts her power and humiliates her, forcing her to join the boys.
* CharacterDevelopment: Thanks to Kiyoshi, Mari slowly starts to realize that not all boys are just perverts and can actually be admirable when they want to be.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: When we first meet her, she's a cold, aloof, manipulative and willing to do anything to get the boys expelled and is harsh with Meiko whenever she fails. Later though, it's revealed that Mari is a fairly good person deep down, can take losses well, and is very close with Meiko, which explains her [[UndyingLoyalty loyalty to her]].
* TheChessmaster: She comes up with "DTO" ("Danshi Taigaku/Boys' Expulsion Operation", renamed "Destroy Testicles Operation" in the Funimation dub) to manipulate the boys into getting themselves into more trouble, and get two more breakouts out of them ([[RuleOfThree besides Kiyoshi's]]) so they would be candidates for expulsion.
* CleverCrows: True to the classical renditions of the trope, the flock of crows Mari raises serve as her sentries and lookouts.
* CovertPervert: Despite her stance on sexual misconduct between boys and girls, especially when it comes to the Chairman and his obsession with asses, she finds herself in sexually compromising positions with Kiyoshi at times; each time it happens, she's minding less and less. Mari even flashes back to what her father said about men with nice asses being "good" on the inside; at the time, she was staring at Kiyoshi's ass. [[spoiler:Even having sex with Kate didn't deter her!]]
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Like her sister, whose hair and eyes are brown, Mari's are all blue.
* DoesNotLikeMen: She holds the belief that men such as the boys and her father are unabashed perverts who cannot be allowed to run free. Over time, however, she mellows out to Kiyoshi, even smiling in his presence and at times, blushing over him. This does not go unnoticed by Chiyo.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: She was TheBeastmaster of the crows in the first half of the first story arc, but she and the rest of the cast completely forgot about this ability of hers by the end of the first story arc.
* TheExtremistWasRight: Her worldview that AllMenArePerverts and nothing but trash was proven completely correct in the end, given what the boys ([[CharacterDevelopment sans Andre]]) ended up doing after the end of the Calvary battle and [[spoiler:even Kiyoshi couldn't help but keep wearing Hana's panties while ''confessing to the girl he loves''.]]
* FaceFault:
** She has a pretty epic one when [[spoiler:Chiyo, then in "BeAWhoreToGetYourMan" mode, informs Kiyoshi that she isn't wearing any panties.]]
** This also usually happens whenever Kiyoshi does something perverted to her.
* FreudianSlip: This absolute shocking and hilarious exchange between Mari, Chiyo and Kiyoshi:
-->'''Chiyo''': (Wondering if Mari ever had intimate relations with a boy) "Oh yeah, Onee-chan. You never really gave me a clear answer...So, Onee-chan, um..."\
'''Mari''': (With a confident expression on her face) "Relax. I have let no one put so much as a single finger in me!"\
'''Chiyo and Kiyoshi''': (Both are surprised and blushing heavily) "..."\
'''Mari''': (Realizes what she's just said and looks embarassed, then with the same confident expression) "...Excuse me! I have let no one lay so much as a single finger ''on'' me! I am a bona fide... virgin."
* GracefulLoser: She's humbled after the boys turn the tables on her [[spoiler:by exposing her scheme to get them expelled. She admits to wrongdoing, takes a punch for Kiyoshi from an enraged Hana, and even tried to bail her and Meiko out by claiming she only shanghaied them into her plot]]. Also, unlike Meiko and Hana, she takes the punishment by the Student council with little resistance.
** The ending: [[spoiler:Acknowledging that she had lost in all her fights, Mari went on an exchange program and left school]].
* HatesTheirParent: She hates her father because he's constantly validating her belief that AllMenArePerverts.
* HoneyTrap: [[spoiler:In Chapter 164, she has sex with Kate and films it in order to blackmail her and serve as leverage to Kate's footage of Mari and Kiyoshi's SuckOutThePoison moment designed to make it look like they're doing a "69".]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Being a member of the USC, Mari was responsible for enforcing rules that forbade illicit inter-gender relations, which by their definition includes even dating and socializing. However, during her imprisonment and the subsequent Sports Festival day, she was clearly socializing with the boys in order to team-up against Kate, and even approves of Kiyoshi in dating Chiyo.
* HypocriticalHumor: She censures Hana's fashion sense when she herself can't dress to save her life.
* KnightTemplar: After Kiyoshi's breakout she decides that the rest of the boys, who weren't even aware (barring Gakuto) of Kiyoshi's plan, are also a threat to the school and forms plans to manipulate them into getting in trouble.
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: Dark feminine to Chiyo's light feminine. She's the refined and mysterious AloofDarkHairedGirl to Chiyo's more approachable GirlNextDoor.
* MisplacedRetribution: Whenever she gets angry at her father, she takes out that frustration on the boys.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Mari can be silly at times too; she even voices with pride that she's still a virgin to Kiyoshi and Chiyo's faces. The most extreme example is when she gets into an [[spoiler: [[ItMakesSenseInContext Ouroboros position with Kiyoshi to suck out snake poison]] which to third parties looks as though [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything they're sucking each other out.]]]]
* PervertRevengeMode: The target of her wrath is usually Kiyoshi, whenever he does something perverted to or even merely ''around'' her.
* PragmaticPansexuality: In relation to AmbiguouslyBi, Mari's [[spoiler:plot of having sex with Kate and blackmailing her afterwards in Chapter 164]] would be this in the case she isn't a bisexual or homosexual.
* RummageSaleReject: As it turns out, outside of school Mari has a pretty terrible fashion sense and her taste in clothing seems to be a bunch of random shirts tackily thrown together, including [[BroughtToYouByTheLetterS a habit of knitting the letter "M" on her clothes]].
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler:Deciding that she had caused enough trouble, Mari washes her hands of all the conflict and left her position as USC President to go on a student exchange]].
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Like her father and sister, she has expressed an odd belief that "Anyone who loves (X) can't be a bad person." (In her case, crows.)
* TheStoic: Almost always composed and serious. The biggest reaction you can expect to get out of her is for her eyes to widen slightly, and that's only when she's completely stunned, which rarely happens.
* TechnicalVirgin: Asserts that she has never had "so much as a man's finger inside of her". [[spoiler: Chapter 164 reveals that the "''man''" part of this statement was very important, as she has no problem having sex with Kate in order to blackmail her.]]

!!Meiko Shiraki
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meiko.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ShizukaIto (Japanese), Creator/WhitneyRodgers (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Creator/AsanaMamoru

The vice president of the Underground Student Council. Meiko was once a shy-girl who hated her large breasts, but became a strong, and confident, woman after meeting Mari, whom she became absolutely loyal to after.
-----
* AfraidOfNeedles: Chapter four of Fukukaichou Ganbaru, Meiko goes for a school-mandated check up which involves drawing blood. Meiko is obviously distressed, sweating previously and even fainting after the procedure is done. She barely has enough strength to leave the room.
* ArtisticAge: The way she's drawn, especially with her extremely developed figure, makes her look like a woman in her late twenties despite being a high schooler.
* TheBaroness: A classic example of the trope, to the point of being a parody. She's a statuesque sadist who carries herself with equal measures of poise and aggression and has more than a few dominatrix-like elements to her. This in spite of only being a high schooler.
* BerserkButton: She's already a violent person but attacking or embarrassing Mari immediately sends her into a fit of rage.
* BetweenMyLegs: Most of the scenes involving her are shot from this angle.
* BoobBasedGag: A good portion of her humorous scenes have to do with how massive and cumbersome her large breasts are. [[MarshmallowHell Multiple characters have gotten a face full of them]], [[WardrobeMalfunction multiple instance of her clothes being torn trying and failing to contain then]], and there are a couple cases where they literally get in her way such as when she tried to spy on the chairman and the boys through a small window but couldn't good view because of her breasts.
* CombatStilettos: Meiko wears black knee-length, high-heeled boots.
* CustomUniformOfSexy: Other than thigh high socks and stiletto heeled boots she wears her school's standard female uniform. The main difference is that most of her shirt is unbuttoned, revealing her cleavage and then some, and her skirt is so short that even slightly bending over reveals her panties.
* DCupDistress: She used to resent her large breasts because of all the teasing she got because of them when she was younger. At one point she wore a {{sarashi}} [[HiddenBuxom to bind them]] ([[WardrobeMalfunction which didn't work]]). Fortunately, Mari helped her get over the resentment.
* TheDragon: Mari's loyal right hand and top enforcer.
* DressedAllInRubber: She dresses up in a latex catsuit when patrolling the school grounds at night.
* DressedLikeADominatrix: Meiko carries a riding crop and wears knee-length, high-heeled boots. At night, she patrols the schools grounds wearing a latex catsuit.
* FanservicePack: She was already very busty at the start of the series, but not in an unusual way. However, as series continued and the art style evolved her breasts kept getting larger and larger. In the late parts of the series they're now almost as big as her head.
* {{Foil}}: She's the Vice-President of the USC, attractive-looking but cruel and abusive, and makes a great dominatrix in Andre's eyes. Comparatively, Risa is the Vice-President of the ASC, has the FaceOfAThug but she's nicer than her appearance indicates, and hence struggles as a dominatrix in Andre's eyes.
* GeniusBruiser: An unstoppable juggernaut who is also incredibly well spoken and an excellent chef.
* HiddenBuxom: Despite being extremely busty she's able to look near flat-chested wearing a yukata.
* TheHeavy: She does most of the work while Mari plots behind the scenes.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Being a member of the USC, Meiko was responsible for enforcing rules that forbade illicit inter-gender relations, which by their definition includes even dating and socializing. However, during the boys' imprisonment, she was abusing them BDSM-style, which the boys especially Andre, clearly enjoyed in a perverted sense. By definition, it is considered an illicit relation given the perverted nature of those actions.
* {{Jerkass}}: Very much so in the first major story arc, where the protagonists (the boys) she abuses regularly are pretty much what the readers saw most of the time.
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: Dark feminine to Hana's light feminine. She's a high school-aged version of TheBaroness, whereas Hana hides her sadism behind a cutesy mask.
* MsFanservice: The majority of the series' titillation involve her, and there is a lot of it. [[PlayedForLaughs To the point of comedy]] because of how frequent it is. Most of the panels she's depicted in [[MaleGaze center around or are closeups of her breasts, crotch, and butt regardless of the context]] and then there are the ridiculous situations she often gets into that usually ending [[WardrobeMalfunction with her exposing herself]]. Notably, despite the majority of the series' cast being attractive women, the amount of fanservice plummets significantly when she isn't around. She's quite the fap material.
* MurderousThighs: When Hana went mad after remembering the incident with Kiyoshi in the nurse's office, Meiko is forced to subdue her by choking her out with her thighs.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her uniform shirt and blazer are typically open almost to the navel, and she [[VaporWear doesn't seem to wear a bra underneath]]. She temporarily wore a shirt that was one size too small in order to frustrate Andre, but the shirt was so tight that she nearly collapsed.
* OverlyNervousFlopSweat: Aside from sweating a lot when she works out, Meiko breaks out in constant sweat attacks when she thinks things aren't coming along as they should be, or when she's failed the President.
* PerpetuallyShinyBodies: When her uniform isn't closed which is most of the time, her boobs look glossy.
* PetTheDog: While she has been the cruelest of the USC to the boys, she is the only one to do something nice for them by offering them a "last meal" of their choice on the day before their expulsion should have been decided on.
* PrimAndProperBun: She has her hair in a bun at all times. She's shown to be very strict and formal, and she does not hesitate to use her whip on the boys for any kind of misbehavior.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: She often finds herself in very sexualized situations, usually not on purpose. Her normal personality isn't phased by it, but when she reverts to her older personality she gets extremely embarrassed by all the provocative clothes and poses she gets into.
* SeriesMascot: Despite being a secondary character she gets the most representant in official merchandise, artwork and advertisements for the series. There's even a spinoff series, ''Fukukaichou Ganbaru'', focused on her. Fitting considering she delivers two of the biggest elements of the series, female on male {{Slapstick}} and copious amounts of {{Fanservice}}.
* SexySoakedShirt: Her abnormally high metabolism causes her to sweat gallons almost anytime she gets nervous or does any physical activity, making her shirt completely see-through. [[GoingCommando Since she doesn't wear a bra underneath]] it's quite revealing.
* ShrinkingViolet: Was one before Mari gave her more confidence in herself. [[spoiler: Following her freakout, she becomes one again.]]
* StaffOfAuthority: Meiko is the Vice-President of the Underground Student Council and carries a riding crop.
* StatuesqueStunner: Meiko is the tallest member of the USC, standing at 5'11" (6'2" when wearing her boots). She's also taller than most of the male cast.
* ATasteOfTheLash: Her preferred method of punishment is to whip the boys with her riding crop.
* TraumaButton: As a child she was constantly bullied by Kate and other students for her unusually large breasts, with Kate making up a song to make fun of them. While Mari was able to convince her to take pride in her large breasts she still has mental scars from Kate's bullying as she freezes up anytime someone sings Kate's song.
* UndyingLoyalty: She is extremely loyal to Mari. In a couple instances she questions Mari's decisions but goes along with them anyway.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Despite her domineering personality in the present story, flashback chapters show that she used to be a massive pushover in elementary school. [[spoiler:The trauma of believing she started a fire that killed some crow chicks causes her to revert back her old, submissive self.]]
* VaporWear: She doesn't wear a bra under her school uniform, which shows since it's open down to her stomach. Still, other than a few instances, she manages to avoid a lot of nip-slips.
* VillainDecay: Initially an impenetrable wall of pain and misery, Meiko becomes increasingly more ridiculous as the boys continue to foil and manipulate her, and we learn about her more hilarious quirks. It reaches a point where the five have become more terrified (and justifiably so) of the mere thought of [[CuteAndPsycho Hana]] as warden.
* WhipOfDominance: She is the [[TheBaroness aggressive, sadistic and domineering]] Vice-President of the [[AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil Underground Student Council]] and is the one in charge of guard duty during the boys' two months incarceration. She often carries a riding crop with her, not only as a symbol of her status but to complement her {{dominatrix}}-like elements. She often makes use of it when she wants to "discipline" or "punish" the prisoners.
* WorkoutFanservice: Anytime she exercises since she usually does her workouts in her revealing school uniform, her large breasts tend to flop around a lot, she sweats so much it makes her clothes transparent and as with most of her panels, the focus tends to be on her breasts and crotch.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: She's managed to perform a piledriver as well as a frankensteiner on the boys.
* WrestlerOfBeasts: Chapter 12 of the ''Fukukaichu Ganbaru'' spinoff has Meiko defeating a ThreateningShark with her bare hands.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: If you didn't watch/read Prison School and only saw pictures of Meiko, you would have thought she was a teacher.

!!Hana Midorikawa
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hana.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KanaHanazawa (Japanese), Creator/AlexisTipton (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Aoi Morikawa

The secretary of the Underground Student Council. Hana becomes obsessed with getting revenge on Kiyoshi after a series of embarrassing incidents involving him puts her a bit over the edge. Later her obsession with getting revenge on Kiyoshi transforms into an obvious crush on the guy, though she's still willing to abuse him around.
-----
* AdaptationalCurves: She's noticeably more well endowed in the anime, or at least in the [[http://i.imgur.com/aScqNfu.jpg official art]], than she is in the manga.
* ArtEvolution: How Hana's face looks changes with her character. In the first story arc where she was one of the antagonists, her face mostly evokes a CuteAndPsycho appearance, otherwise looking somewhat plain outside of comedic/violent situations. From the second story arc onwards, her face looks more attractive and adorable in the "normal sense", fitting her now-dominant {{Tsundere}} personality. Additionally, in the manga, her first couple of appearances show her in a skirt without her distinctive ModestyShorts.
* AxCrazy: Very much in the first story arc. She acts cute at first to later punish the boys in unpleasant and violent ways without any apparent reason, became obsessed to see Kiyoshi pee at any cost after he accidentally saw her peeing, and her madness become more evident as time goes on, to the point when she even tries to cut Kiyoshi's "[[UnusualEuphemism eryngii]]" after she remembers the incident she has with him in the infirmary (that was her fault to begin with). She mostly loses this character trait of hers after she was sent to prison.
* TheBadGuyWins: Among the three BigBad characters of the series, Hana was the only one whose goals were successful. While Hana's undoubtedly less scheming and shrewd compared to Mari and Kate, her goals were much smaller in scale and targeted towards just Kiyoshi and Chiyo. [[spoiler: At the end of the series, she successfully destroys their relationship by exposing the fact Kiyoshi was wearing her panties to Chiyo.]]
* BerserkButton: Whenever she learns of Kiyoshi supposedly sharing their perverted experiences with others, she loses her temper and immediately tracks down Kiyoshi in order to punish him. This usually ends up backfiring on her and only causes her to get all the more invested.
* BettyAndVeronica: With regards to Kiyoshi, she is the Veronica to Chiyo's Betty.
* BigBad: Of the final story arc. The story arc's main focus is on Kiyoshi's love confession to Chiyo and Hana's main goal is to ruin it at all costs. [[spoiler: And thanks to the fact that Kiyoshi was wearing her panties, she succeeds.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: The boys are instantly charmed by her cute looks and cheerful demeanor, especially in contrast to the blatantly sadistic Meiko, but quickly come to find that she's even ''worse'' to deal with. The final story arc brings this part of her character back into focus, where on the surface she seemed indifferent to or even helped Kiyoshi to make his love confession to Chiyo but in reality she plotted to ruin it behind his back.
* ButtMonkey: Bad things happen to her whenever she's around Kiyoshi. She's been caught peeing outside, got peed on herself, faints when he accidentally gets a boner between her legs, and her last attempt at revenge on Kiyoshi [[spoiler:ends up giving the boys an opportunity to get the evidence that not only clears their name of further misdemeanor than simple voyeurism, but also brings down the USC]].
* CharacterDevelopment: She is initially a bully particularly obsessed with harassing Kiyoshi, and exhibits little to no redeeming qualities even after she was sent to prison (her flaws are mainly played for laughs though). She eventually developed an unrequited crush on Kiyoshi and her psychotic tendencies gradually toned down as she became more aware of her own feelings, but she never remained honest about her crush. Her lack of self-honesty made her [[TookALevelInJerkass grew increasingly unsympathetic]] when she repeatedly caused trouble for Kiyoshi just so she can be with him.
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** Hana gets really angry when Kiyoshi thinks of and/or interacts with another girl intimately. This is mostly associated with Chiyo and also included [[spoiler:Mari when Hana learns of her Ouroboros experience with Kiyoshi; she ends up punching Mari for this act and later cries to Kiyoshi when she notes that Kiyoshi had no problem doing this with Mari but is hesitant to do it with her.]]
** Pops up again when she learns that Kiyoshi peed in front of Risa, when his reluctance to pee in front of Hana is what started all her troubles. She goes into TranquilFury over how, on top of that, she ''still'' has yet to see Kiyoshi do so herself.
** Later during the School Festival, Hana finally [[spoiler:gets her wish and pees on Kiyoshi. As they both get dressed, they realize that in the heat of the moment, they accidentally switched underwear with each other. While intending to give it back to him, she sees how happy he is wearing a headband from Chiyo and insists that he continues to wear her panties, much to his confusion.]]
* '''CuteAndPsycho''': Her defining characteristic in the first story arc, ''especially'' towards Kiyoshi and numerous humiliating events with him. As early as Chapter 5, her duality is shown by violently drop-kicking Shingo in the head before returning to her "cute" self. Her psychotic trait is gradually toned down as she undergoes character development.
* {{Determinator}}: Hana is determined to get her revenge on Kiyoshi, no matter what it costs her.
* {{Fainting}}: Though quite a lot of people faint regularly in this manga, Hana is the only person whose faints become significant plot points.
** Kiyoshi and Hana hide under a bed in the school nurse's room, both naked from the waist down. The proximity to Hana causes Kiyoshi to get an involuntary erection that directly touches Hana's bare privates. Hana not only passes out from embarrassment right then and there, but passes out so deep and hard that she wakes up on the bed much later on with [[TraumaInducedAmnesia zero recollection of the incident]].
** Hana later attempts revenge on Kiyoshi by stealing his [[SacredFirstKiss first kiss]] so that he can't share it with [[LoveInterest Chiyo]]. Kiyoshi turns it around when he realizes that Hana is extremely innocent when it comes to romance, and deliberately deepens the kiss into full-on making out. The shock of being kissed with tongue for the first time in her life (by someone she secretly harbors feelings for, no less) straight-up scrambles her mind, shutting her brain down completely as she goes limp in his arms.
* TheFakeCutie: A dominant trait of hers in the first story arc. She can switch her cutesy personality on and off at will. Her normal personality is cold, crude and brutal. She mostly loses this character trait of hers after she was sent to prison.
* GirlishPigtails: Used to have them when she was younger.
* HumanizingTears: As violent as she is, Hana is also prone to being reduced into a tearful wreck after a string of humiliations (accidentally) courtesy of Kiyoshi, and it's so heartbreaking even Kiyoshi sometimes can't help but feel sorry for her misfortune.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Being a member of the USC, Hana was responsible for enforcing rules that forbade illicit inter-gender relations, which by their definition includes even dating and socializing. However, she harassed Kiyoshi multiple times in secret, actions which definitely violate the rules she was supposed to enforce. She also went on a date with him, despite her clearly acknowledging the rules forbidding those actions.
* IfICantHaveYou: A lighter and obviously less violent example. This trope is the key motivation behind Hana as the BigBad of the final story arc. Being unable to confess her feelings to Kiyoshi, she decided to ruin Kiyoshi's love confession to Chiyo instead.
* InelegantBlubbering: Her face gets all red and puffy when she cries.
* InkSuitActor: By coincidence Hana shares the same general appearance of her [[Creator/KanaHanazawa Japanese voice actress]].
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: Light feminine to Meiko's dark feminine. She prefers to act like a CuteAndPsycho BitchInSheepsClothing compared to Meiko's open sadism.
* LittleMissBadass: Hana is the shortest and least-endowed member of the USC. She's also a black-belt in karate and can beat the living daylights out of the boys.
* LovingBully: She gains an obvious crush on Kiyoshi but still bullies him into doing things she wants. [[spoiler:Even after finally getting her revenge by peeing on him, she subsequently kisses him to comfort him in his hour of disgrace.]]
* ModestyShorts: Hana wears modesty ''pants'' under her school skirt. They extend much further down the leg than most examples of the trope, and appear to be athletic pants rolled up at the knees.
* {{Nosebleed}}: She often gets dribbles of blood whenever she's caught in a perverted act or more specifically, whenever she's doing perverted acts with ''Kiyoshi''.
* PunnyName: Her first name is spelled like '花' (flower), although most probably it's a pun on Hana's tendency to {{Nosebleed}} (鼻血, hanaji).
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Fakes a defection to the Official Student Council to act as Mari's mole.]]
* SacredFirstKiss: She steals Kiyoshi's so she can deny him the opportunity to share it with Chiyo. [[spoiler:But like most of her attempts at revenge, this one ends up backfiring on her, too, as Kiyoshi realizes that she's extremely innocent when it comes to romance and overwhelms her by turning the kiss into a make-out session which causes her to faint.]]
* SanitySlippage: Her repeated and humiliating failures at revenge cause her to become more and more obsessed with finally getting it. It reaches a breaking point after she remembers what happened when she and Kiyoshi hid under a bed in the nurse room (Kiyoshi got an erection from being so close to her when they were both bottomless and unintentionally touched her ''there'' with it, causing her to faint.) The memories cause her to try to barge into a private meeting between the boys and the Chairman with a knife in hand. Fortunately, Meiko was able stop her.
* SlapSlapKiss: When she starts crying in front of Kiyoshi over the unfairness of him constantly getting away with all the perverted stuff he's accidentally done to her, Kiyoshi suggests hitting him to vent her feelings, she does so... ''several times'', '''''really hard'''''. As Kiyoshi is pleading for mercy, she then kisses him in an attempt to "steal" his first kiss away. Once again, this backfires on her, as her kiss is realized as childish by Kiyoshi and this then leads into a heavy [[SpitTrailKiss make-out session]] to distract her.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Her tearful breakdown in the guardroom makes Kiyoshi realize that despite her remorseless cruelty, she was seriously upset by the above accidents. He even offers to let her hit him if it'll make her feel better. It's later revealed that [[spoiler:her punishment could've been a lot worse had Kiyoshi not refused to press charges against her for attacking him]].
* ThirdWheel: She's somewhat resentful of the fact that Mari and Meiko have known each other for much longer and seem to have a closer friendship to each other than they do her. [[spoiler:Along with a some blackmail, Kate takes advantage of these feelings to get her to side with the Official Student Council. [[TheMole Or at least so it initially seems.]]]]
* TokenWholesome: A clever subversion. Hana is the most modestly dressed of all the female characters in the series, and the mangaka never drew her with her nipples exposed to the reader. However, she is consistently involved in the most extreme (mostly urine-based) and explicit fetishistic content in the manga. She isn't sexualized often, but when she is it tends to get pretty gross.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Hana wasn't a particularly nice character to begin with. Although it seemed like her crush on Kiyoshi led to her violent tendencies toning down, she never remained honest about her own feelings and chose to create trouble for him so that she can be with him. Examples of said trouble include making him the school's new pariah and sabotaging his love confession to Chiyo.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: When Kiyoshi gets an involuntary erection that directly touches Hana's bare privates, Hana passes out from embarrassment right then and there. By the time she regains consciousness, it turns out that she has lost all recollection of the incident as her faint was ''that'' deep. Only many chapters later, when an eryngii mushroom drops in between her legs during a cooking class, are her memories finally reawakened.
* TrueCompanions: Despite some jealousy over Mari and Meiko's closeness, Hana nevertheless vowed to do everything in her power to protect them from any abuse. The same is true in reverse. [[spoiler:Kate herself was surprised when Hana reveals that she only [[TheMole pretended to betray her friends]], telling her that the bonds between the three of them are too strong to break.]]
* {{Tsundere}}: A vicious Type A towards Kiyoshi. Her crush on Kiyoshi was confirmed when she forced him to take romantic photos with her, under the pretext of getting blackmail material, and leaving the scene clearly treasuring those photos. Her "tsun" side remained vicious to the end of the series.
* {{Yandere}}: A variation/twist of this trope. She had exhibited traits of being a yandere before her crush on Kiyoshi became obvious - The majority of her physical abuse and threats were on Kiyoshi rather than any other characters, threatening to kill him and herself on multiple occasions over some embarrassing or shameful events. She evolved into a {{Tsundere}} when her crush was confirmed.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AmiKoshimizu (Japanese)

The president of the Official Student Council. Kate is a closet pervert that takes pleasure in seeing erotic scenes, and has a past with the underground president, Mari Kurihara.
----
* AlphaBitch: Compared to Mari, who comes off more as a KnightTemplar trying to protect the girls from the five boys, Kate fulfills a much more traditional "mean girl" role, using her her power to bully others.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: As a child, she was jealous of [[spoiler:Mari, who not only developed a better body but was all around better at everything than her. It got to the point that she secretly wanted to ''be'' Mari, complete with stealing her underwear and wearing a wig so she could dress up as her in private]].
* AnimalMotifs: The snake to Mari's crow.
* BigBad: Of the second arc, after Mari's fall from grace. Unlike Mari though, who at least had some good intentions, Kate is simply a bully who just wants revenge on Mari and Meiko for standing up to her in the past.
* TheChessmaster: Similar to Mari, she is very good at creating situations where people get themselves in trouble.
* CostumeEvolution: Starts out never wearing any socks or hosiery of any kind, preferring to wear her school loafers on her bare feet (like Hana). As her character becomes more developed, she starts wearing sheer stockings.
* CovertPervert: Clearly enjoys watching [[spoiler:Kiyoshi and Mari's]] SuckOutThePoison moment far beyond the pleasures of revenge.
* TheDitz: The first day she tries wearing sheer stockings, she forgets to take them off as she goes into the showers since she's so used to never having to do that (because for presumably years before that she never wore any kind of socks with her school outfit).
* EarlyBirdCameo: She shows up in the final episode of the anime, leading into a CliffHanger[=/=]SequelHook.
* EvilRedhead: Yup. [[spoiler:Subverted later when it's shown that Kate is not outright evil, just very bitter towards Mari and Meiko; in fact, she [[LovingBully has quite the crush on the former]]. Kate is also genuinely nice with her two other subordinates, Risa and Mitsuko; she considers the former her best friend]].
* GreenEyedMonster: She hates Mari because she wasn't as good as the latter.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: [[spoiler:Has one towards Mari]].
* LipstickLesbian: Very feminine but also deeply infatuated with Mari.
* LittleMissBadass: Surprisingly, Kate turns out to be so good at Aikido that Chiyo finds herself unable to throw her. Also notable is that, going by her fear of Meiko in the flashback chapters, she only [[VillainForgotToLevelGrind started]] [[AvertedTrope learning]] such self-defense skills after Meiko snapped.
* LovingBully: [[spoiler:She turns out to have a weird thing for Mari.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** Kate tries projecting that she's a serious know-it-all but when she comes across something she doesn't understand, she takes great liberties to look it up. Whenever Mari uses certain words in different languages, Kate is later seen with a dictionary looking up the word.
** When filming Kiyoshi and Mari [[spoiler: fighting off the snakes in the bathroom and Mari is bitten near her...inner thighs, she and Mari are taken aback when they hear from Kiyoshi that a human being cannot make their mouths reach that far.]] Next chapter opens with her trying to do just that out of sheer curiosity.
* OjouRinglets: Even her eyelashes have curls! Unusually for this trope, her standout ringlets are used to illustrate a [[RichBitch cruel personality]] rather than a kind one, being juxtaposed with the coils of a snake [[http://raw.senmanga.com/Prison_School/127/ at least once.]]
* PantyThief: [[spoiler:Has stolen several sets of Mari's.]]
* PetTheDog: Despite being the [[BigBad main antagonist for the second part of the story]], Kate is genuinely friendly towards those she considers her friends, thus showing that she's not completely irredeemable. Case in point, she sticks up for Risa when they first met and cheers her up whenever she's feeling down; in fact, Kate makes it known that Risa is undoubtedly her best friend.
* PsychoLesbian: [[spoiler:Not that any of the straight characters in this story are exactly paragons of sanity, but at least they haven't been revealed to have been dressing up as their hatecrush with a wig and a set of their stolen underwear!]]
* {{Revenge}}: Her motivation against Mari is to get payback for humiliating her when they were kids.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Just look at her picture and see.
* SlasherSmile[=/=]ScaryFlashlightFace: Sports a veiny-eyed grin while [[spoiler: [[BreakupBonfire setting fire]] to her collection of Mari outfits after falling victim to her HoneyTrap.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Fans debate whether her name is spelled "Kate" or "Keito".
* StalkerShrine: Her room is filled with candid pictures of Mari, she has an entire collection of the teddy bear keychain Mari had when they were in middle school, and her most treasured item is a box filled with Mari's underwear.
* StalkerWithACrush: [[spoiler:Again, to Mari.]]
* TrueCompanions: Kate corrects the event header when they ask whether she and Risa are friends. Kate says they're not "friends", they're '''best friends'''.
* UngratefulBitch: She wants revenge on Mari for embarrassing her in grade school... despite the fact that among the things Mari did for her was save her from Meiko's rampage.

!!Risa Bettou
[[quoteright:211:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prison_school_risa.png]]

The vice president of the Official Student Council. Risa is one of the weirder female love interests in the series where she desires to be a dominatrix for Andre.
----
* ACupAngst: Jealous of Meiko in this regard.
* BerserkButton: Questioning her femininity.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: In colored pages, Risa has dark blue hair and eyes.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Makes a non-speaking appearance with the Official Student Council Students in the final episode of the first season.
* {{Expy}}: Of Lisbeth Salander from ''Literature/TheMillenniumTrilogy''. (Risa Bettou = Liz-beth).
* FaceOfAThug:
** Everything about her early characterization seems to indicate a personality that fully fits her thug-like appearance but Andre at least thinks she's a lot nicer at heart. A little too nice for his tastes in fact. In her case, it's more that her punishment is slightly more restrained compared to Meiko, whose unrestrained cruelty is perfect for [[TooKinkyToTorture Andre]]. She does eventually come to learn how to placate Andre.
** Despite her looks, Risa is still a ''girl'' and can be freaked out whenever the boys, particularly Andre and Kiyoshi, do something really perverted in front of her.
* {{Foil}}: She's the Vice-President of the ASC, has the FaceOfAThug but she's nicer than her appearance indicates, and hence struggles as a dominatrix in Andre's eyes. Comparatively, Meiko is the Vice-President of the USC, attractive-looking but cruel and abusive, and makes a great dominatrix in Andre's eyes.
* InSeriesNickname: Shingo calls her "fugly shinai".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite her initial brutishness, most of her screen-time shows her to actually be quite soft. Even ignoring that, she is always shown to be a much less cruel guard than Meiko ever was.
* KindheartedCatLover: For all her brutish nature, it's revealed she once had a cat called Antoinette that she loved very much and still considers to be a closer friend than any human.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:At the end of the series, she and Andre begin a normal teenage romance, and are the only pair to do so]].
* SanitySlippage: Thanks to [[spoiler: Kiyoshi's]] perverted {{Gaslighting}}. She also freaks out during the school festival when one of the events asks her to bring a certain item to the table; in her case, a "friend". Due to Risa's insecurities over her appearance and demeanor, she starts panicking over this prospect and even considers bringing her ''shinai'' as a "friend" before she wisely dismisses the idea.
* TrueCompanions: Kate considers Risa to be her best friend, much to Risa's happiness.
* {{Tsundere}}: A really weird case towards Andre.
* WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter: She carries a shinai as her main weapon.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MikakoTakahashi (Japanese)

The secretary of the Official Student Council. Mitsuko is seen to be a huge klutz, and befriends Gakuto over their share of embarrassing situations. Her cousin just so happens to be Anzu.
-----
* BrownNote: Untangling her hair-buns cause her Rube Goldburg tendencies to go out of control and infect the student body. The last time this happened, the air conditioning went out for months, and caused every girl in school to walk around undressed to deal with the heat.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: A dark green tint in coloured pages. The anime decided to make her hair and eyes blue.
* CuteClumsyGirl: The boys nickname her the [[RubeGoldbergDevice Rube Goldburg]] of klutzes as she frequently gets into ridiculously unlikely chain reaction accidents that make huge messes.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Makes a non-speaking appearance with the Official Student Council Students in the final episode of the first season.
* TokenGoodTeammate: She's the only one of the three student council members that doesn't have any ill-will against the USC and is generally a nice person. However, that doesn't mean that she will stop Kate and Risa's actions against their victims and essentially allows their actions to continue.
* YaoiFangirl: Including [[spoiler:her own art featuring Gakuto and Joe! The former does not take this well.]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ChinamiHashimoto (Japanese), Creator/KristenMcGuire (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Rena Takeda

Mari's younger sister, and Kiyoshi's first female school friend. She is a fan of Sumo, and helped the boys escape jail.
-----
* BettyAndVeronica: With regards to Kiyoshi, the "Betty" to Hana's "Veronica".
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Chiyo is very sweet most of the time but when sufficiently angered, she's not afraid to speak her mind. In fact, when ''really'' pushed, she unleashes her hidden sumo skills and kicks the ass of the unfortunate offender. She's only done this twice in the series: [[spoiler:when three girls tried to get Chiyo to strip and when Kate admitted to "destroying" (throwing out) the boys rocket bottle contraption.]]
* BeAWhoreToGetYourMan: She seems to [[spoiler:have subscribed to this line of thought in chapter 138, apparently out of jealousy stemming from her belief that Mari has become a whore for the boys, and thus Chiyo has to out-whore her sister in order to keep Kiyoshi for herself.]] Thankfully Kiyoshi and Mari assure her otherwise and she goes back to her normal personality.
* BlindWithoutEm: Chiyo's vision is apparently so bad that when she takes off her contacts for the bath she mistakes Kiyoshi for her friend Mayumi.
* BreakTheCutie: Happens in the final chapter no less. The once sweet, forgiving Chiyo turns bitter and cold after [[spoiler:Hana reveals that Kiyoshi and her are still wearing each other's underwear.]] It's more because she gave him every chance to be truthful to her and he ''still'' lies to her face, breaking her trust in him.
* ClingyJealousGirl:
** Surprisingly, she shows some shades of this when she believes [[spoiler:Mari is stealing Kiyoshi away from her, thanks in part to a series of misunderstandings she has witnessed that made her believe Kiyoshi and Mari are dating. Not that Chiyo and Kiyoshi themselves are actually dating, but still...]]
** Later it's hinted that she suspects the truth of Hana's feelings towards Kiyoshi, all with a comprehensive and sour look on her face.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Downplayed as she's mostly shown to be levelheaded, but she can be weird at times, such as being a huge sumo fan and thinking that anyone who likes sumo can't be a bad person.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Like her sister, who's are all blue, Chiyo's hair and eyes are all brown.
* {{Fangirl}}: An ''extremely'' intense sumo wrestling one. Simply ''possessing'' an eraser with a sumo wrestler that she likes on it is enough to instantly earn Kiyoshi her friendship.
* GirlNextDoor: She's Kiyoshi's crush who sits in front of him in class. She's friendly and pretty but nowhere near as sexualized as the other girls, was the first, and for a long time, the only, girl willing to even talk to the boys, and has an unexpected interest in sumo wrestling that makes her easy for Kiyoshi to talk to.
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: Light feminine to Mari's dark feminine. She's a plainly pretty GirlNextDoor type while Mari is an elegant AloofDarkHairedGirl.
* LittleMissBadass: Turns out Chiyo's knowledge of Sumo isn't restricted to simply appreciating it.
* LoveInterest: Kiyoshi becomes smitten with her from the moment he lays his eyes on her, and his desire to one day be able to become a couple with her motivates almost all of his actions. [[spoiler:She rejects him in the final chapter due to Hana's machinations, and becomes as cold and hateful towards men as her sister had once been]].
* NiceGirl: The only girl who acts friendly towards the boys when they first arrive at school. Throughout the series, she's shown to be a naturally kind and caring person. [[spoiler:While she's still a good person at heart, her friendly and positive attitude comes to an end in the final chapter, where Hana reveals Kiyoshi is lying to her face and that they are wearing each others' underwear, causing Chiyo's personality to undergo an inversion and become closer to her sister's at the beginning of the series.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll: She can be just as silly as the boys when she wants to be. For instance, she believes that the boy's monstrosity of a bottle rocket was her birthday present and thought it was awesome. She becomes devastated when it's destroyed and tries to attack Kate for it.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Like her father and sister, she has expressed an odd belief that "Anyone who loves (X) can't be a bad person." (In her case, Sumo.) [[spoiler:She also develops extreme misandry after the last chapter, making her just like her sister.]]
* SixthRanger: She and Anzu participate in the boy's final plan to get the evidence to overturn the boy's expulsions.
* TokenWholesome: While not immune to the series' rampant {{Fanservice}} (in fact, one of the first major instances of it features her fully nude, but also heavily censored), she tends to be sexualized substantially less than any of the other major female characters are, with the occasions where she is even being treated as anomalies in-universe. Her role as Kiyoshi's GirlNextDoor LoveInterest likely plays a part in her status as this.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Chiyo has a tendency to get the wrong end of the stick where tropes are concerned, for example mistaking the secrecy of a GreatEscape as that of a SurpriseParty.

!!Chairman Kurihara
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/principal.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KeijiFujiwara (Japanese), Smokey Delange (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Masahiro Takashima

The chairman of Hachimitsu Academy, and father to Mari and Chiyo. He has an obsession with Brazilian asses, a secret that he's ''really'' bad at hiding.
-----
* TheAce: Possesses both physical abilities that border on superhuman and a sharp mind that makes him highly effective at his job.
* AdultsAreUseless: Averted. It's shown several times that both student councils go to great lengths to stay under his radar, as he immediately takes action to stop whatever completely unacceptable abuse of their power they are currently doing whenever he finds out about them. As a result, he's probably the male students' most invaluable ally.
* BigGood: A genuinely reasonable man, all of the antagonism from both student councils is done behind his back and expressly against his orders. The occasions when he manages to intervene succeed in saving the day in one fell swoop.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Acknowledges Kiyoshi as a kindred spirit after he gives a passionate explanation for why asses are better than breasts and goes out of his way to assist him several times because, in his words, "no one who likes asses could be a bad person". It's suggested that Kiyoshi is the first person who has ever been able to fully comprehend his love of the butt. He also instantly hits it off with Honey due to their shared dramatic speech patterns.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Since his ridiculous fixation on butts tends to take up most of his screentime, it becomes easy to forget that he shares his older daughter's serious and dignified demeanor and is as deeply dedicated to doing his job well as she is hers.
* BrokenPedestal: Mari used to admire him as a child, but something happened between then and the present story to cause her to lose all respect for him.
* ColdHam: Remains composed and serious even when, or rather, ''especially'' when ranting about the greatness of the butt.
* TheComicallySerious: No matter what crazy/embarrassing situations he may find himself in, you can bet your ass that Daddy Kurihara shall see through them in his ever dignified, stone-faced glory.
* CoolOldGuy: See ReasonableAuthorityFigure. He manages to both take his job very seriously and be sympathetic to the boys' problems at the same time. Combined with his unquenchable thirst for booty and you've got yourself a pretty awesome chairman.
* CovertPervert: Despite his always stern expression, he's a huge pervert with a fetish for women's butts. Unfortunately, Mari is well aware of this since he keeps accidentally showing his PornStash to her.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: We later learn that [[spoiler: the school's prison was first built to hold ''him''.]]
* DirtyOldMan: He's old enough to have grey hair, and lives to ogle asses. To his credit, though, he at least limits his perversion to badly-hidden porn, as he never once shows even a passing interest in perving on any of his students.
* EasyAmnesia: [[spoiler:Loses his memory after his encounter with a waterfall. He does avert IdentityAmnesia however, because apparently nothing in all of existence can make him forget his love of asses.]]
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: His first name is not yet revealed and the only reason why we know his last name is because we know the full names of his daughters.
* EveryoneHasStandards: For all his perversion, he never once so much as thinks about ogling any of his students.
* ManlyTears: He sheds a single teardrop as he's forced to bury his porn collection in cement.
-->'''Chairman''': I guess this really is... Adios.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Part of the reason the boys' stay at the prison becomes more and more hellish is because he keeps accidentally spilling his PornStash in front of Mari, who takes out her frustration on the boys.
* OpenSecret: He's ''very'' bad at hiding his butt fetish despite constantly trying to.
* PornStash:
** He has a collection of photos of women's butts. He later decides to get rid of them after he spills them in front of Mari. Which takes him two tries as he digs them back up after the first time and then later buries them with cement to make sure he can't get them again.
** Even with the photos gone, he still visits porn sites, and later orders an ass mouse pad.
* RaceFetish: While he's obsessed with butts in general, the vast majority of his fetish videos and magazines are explicitly ''Brazilian'' butts.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He's very adamant about following school policy but that doesn't mean he won't bend it to help the boys, even urging Mari to take it easy on them. For example he decides to postpone the boys' expulsion to give them an extra day to retrieve evidence to overturn it after Kiyoshi gives him an acceptable answer as to why asses are better than boobs. It also works against his daughters since as an educator he doesn't extend them any special attention and will issue disciplinary measures if he deems it appropriate.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler: He was the very first ever inmate of Hachimitsu academy's prison.]]
* ReformedCriminal: While he's a morally-upstanding ReasonableAuthorityFigure now, [[spoiler: the prison was first built in order to hold him.]]
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Like both of his daughters, he has expressed an odd belief that "Anyone who loves (X) can't be a bad person." (In his case, asses.)
* SilverFox: You ''know'' it's true.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Kiyoshi and Gakuto's first break out plan depended on a hole Kiyoshi had spent days making in one of the walls surrounding the prison. Unfortunately, the chairman, who was burying his dirty pictures for the second time using cement, happens to find the hole and fills it up himself, unknowingly ruining the former two's plan.
* TheStoic: Handles everything from his charman duties to oggling Brazilian butts with the same stern and focused expression.
* VerbalTic: The Chairman's manner of speaking almost always involves emphasizing a syllable or word at the end of his...'''sentences'''. This also tends to be punctuated with [[CharacterTics a dramatic turn of his head]] every time he does...'''this'''.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: Played with. While he is genuinely as serious and dedicated to his job as Mari is, much more of his screentime is devoted to getting laughs out of his ungodly obsession with butts, making him generally a much more comical character than she is.

!!Anzu Yokoyama
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anzu.png]]

-->'''Voiced by:''' Yo Taichi (Japanese), Creator/ColleenClinkenbeard (English)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Yuko Araki

A student who was introduced as a spy for the Underground Student Council. Anzu is currently in an on-off relationship with Shingo.
----
* TheAtoner: As penance for causing Shingo to unintentionally commit a breakout, [[spoiler:she volunteers to help Chiyo in her contribution to stop the boys' expulsion]].
* BelligerentSexualTension: Shingo's idiocy and awkwardness frequently causes him to act like an ass, which she reacts to with violence, but she always seems to maintain some affection for him.
* BetaCouple: She and Shingo are the second couple to form after Kiyoshi and Chiyo, and much faster moving.
* CompetitionFreak: If the audition for the Horseback challenge is anything to go by, she is seen to be ''very'' competitive.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair and brown eyes.
* {{Delinquent}}: Has the general look and attitude of a female delinquent, but it would be safe to say she isn't an actual example. She even states many people tell her she's a bit thuggish in her looks and mannerisms, but is never shown to commit crimes.
* GamerChick: She is introduced in an arcade, playing a fighting game where she has the highest score.
* HeroicSacrifice: A nonfatal version. [[spoiler:She served as Chiyo's decoy to help the latter get into the prison and perform a three-way clothes exchange with Gakuto and Joe to help the former recover data on the DTO, with Joe disguised as Gakuto and Chiyo as Joe. Sure enough, she gets caught by Meiko, and during interrogation was tortured by being sat on the face, refusing to say a word until she is suffocated to unconsciousness.]]
* HiddenDepths: Revealed to be a surprisingly good singer.
* HoneyTrap: Towards Shingo, at least until her...
** HeelFaceTurn: Goes against the Underground Student Council to help the boys escape jail. While she never was a bad person to begin with, she technically had to work as a spy for the Council against the boys.
* NiceGirl: Despite her tomboyish and somewhat rough attitude, she's a genuinely kind and friendly girl, who, while initially a spy for the council, helps the guys escaping in the end.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite her protests and confusion with the boys' contest to determine who would serve as the top of their stack in the cavalry competition, she clearly becomes invested in winning.
* OnlySaneMan: In spite of her almost delinquent-like appearance, she's probably the least eccentric female character introduced so far. She's equally weirded out by the boys' perversions and rituals and Cake-san's willingness to go along with them.
* SatelliteCharacter: Her character so far has mostly revolved around her relationship with Shingo.
* UnresolvedSexualTension: With Shingo.
* WardrobeMalfunction: The manga positions the camera to give her nip slips on a regular basis.

!!Satou (Cake-san)

-->'''Voiced by:''' Nana Hamasaki (Japanese)

A student that was able to keep Joe from going back to the school prison by offering him cake. Satou has since become good friends with him.
----
* AscendedExtra: A one-off character in an early chapter, but makes a return for the Horseback challenge tryout against the Official Student Council.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Suggested to be one. She raises no objections to the boys' contest to determine who would serve as the top of their stack for the cavalry competition, and is seemingly oblivious to their perverted antics throughout it.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow
* GirlishPigtails: Her hair-style.
* HiddenDepths: Although not a perfect singer, it's revealed that she has the raw charisma of a true idol.
* NiceGirl: Presented as being a friendly and open person all around.
* InSeriesNickname: Jo calls her "Cake-san" due to the circumstances of how they met.
* ThroughHisStomach: Jo becomes friends with Satou after she shares a bit of her homemade cake with him.

!!Mayumi Tanaka
[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mayumi.jpg]]
%%[[caption-width-right:240:This image is sourced from the unofficial Prison School wikia [[http://prison-school.wikia.com/wiki/File:Mayumi.png here with permission from its admin Speedit]].

-->'''Voiced by:''' Ami Naruse (Japanese)
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Yufu Terashima

A student who is usually seen alongside her friend, Chiyo. She is a member of the school's Go Club.
----
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue hair with blue eyes.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Chapter 216 is perhaps more time Mayumi was in the spotlight than all her previous appearances combined.
* TabletopGame/{{Go}}: Her defining characteristic is that Mayumi is part of a board-game club.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: For Chiyo. Mayumi was with her when Chiyo was feeling depressed over her discovery that [[spoiler:Kiyoshi had unintentionally used Chiyo's school uniform]] to help with his prison escape.
* OutOfFocus: Doesn't really appear after the early chapters of the manga up until the cavalry competition. To be fair though, Mayumi is a ''very'' minor character that you may not have known to even exist.
* SatelliteCharacter: Her actions usually revolve around Chiyo.

!!Bitch-Sempai
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prisonschoolb1tchsempei_0.jpg]]

A third-year student that first appeared during the cavalry battle between the the two Student Councils of Hachimitsu Academy. She was the leader of one of the teams that competed in the battle for Kate's side. [[spoiler:With Gakuto's popularity soaring after the unexpected end of the cavalry battle Bitch sets her eyes on him, due her promiscuous fame her actions are suspect but she is going through great lengths to adjust to Gakuto's tastes, like educating herself about the Three Kingdoms and trying to imitate any quality Gakuto may see on Mitsuko]].
----
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair with brown eyes.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite her lustful persona, seeing Kiyoshi wearing a woman's striped panties was a bit too far for her.
* InSeriesNickname: The main characters go about calling her "Bitch" or "Slut" given her personality.
* NoNameGiven: She's known only by her nickname.
* ReallyGetsAround: She had this reputation, but whether she deserved that reputation is not confirmed. Despite the current lack of confirmation, she is clearly one of the more lewd women this series has to offer. She also goes so far as to initiate a "licking" game when she gains an interest in Gakuto after witnessing his last-minute cavalry battle heroics.
* WarmupBoss: Her cavalry battle team serves at the first roadblock for the Underground Student Council side before they could continue forward to take on Kate's primary team.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/honey1.png]]

A hitchhiker whom the Chairman picks up (due to her shapely rear). Upon meeting him again after [[spoiler: his subsequent amnesia, she takes him in by pretending to be his fiance.]]
----
* AmnesiacLover: [[spoiler: Inverted, she pretends to be the Chairman's fiance when he suffers amnesia, but he'd only even met her once before.]]
* BirdsOfAFeather: Instantly bonds with the chairman over their overly dramatic way of speaking.
* InsatiableNewlyweds: [[spoiler: Albeit the engagement is a lie, but she and the Chairman just cannot seem to keep it in their pants despite the danger they're in.]]
* MafiaPrincess: Her ex-finace (her real one that is) has some number of armed men in his employ and he doesn't seem to have taken the breakup well...
* RunawayFiance: Caravanning out in the woods to avoid her ex.
