!Adventurers
A job that exists in the New World. Adventurers receive and solve requests accepted by Adventurer Guild. The main role of an adventurer is hunting monsters, protecting important figures, collecting rare materials, etc. Basically adventurers do not concern themselves with the affairs of state but there are exceptions in special cases.

!!Blue Roses
An all female Adamantite ranked adventurer group of the Re-Estize Kingdom.
----
[[folder:In General]]
* AmazonBrigade: All the members of Blue Roses are female, as well as some of the strongest peoples in the nation.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: [[spoiler:Most of the members know that the Kingdom is doomed against the Sorcerer Kingdom and want to flee to fight another day. Lakyus, the only one who [[HonorBeforeReason feels differently]], is subdued by the others so that they can all flee.]]
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: They take personal missions from Princess Renner to take down facilities belonging to Eight Fingers despite the fact that adventurers are supposed to be neutral. [[spoiler: This also extends to keeping each other safe over saving the kingdom, which to them justifies their brutal subjugation of Lakyus.]]
* TrueCompanions: The members are all close enough to regard each other as family.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra]]
[[quoteright:245:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lakyus_alvein_dale_aindra.png]]
-> '''Voiced by''': Creator/AmiKoshimizu (Japanese), Creator/JadSaxton (English)[[labelnote: Foreign [=VAs=]]] Mireya Jáurez (Latin American Spanish), Bérangère Rochet (French), Katrin Heß (German), Creator/EmanuelaPacotto (Italian), Cláudia Victoria (Brazilian Portuguese)[[/labelnote]]

An adamantite ranked adventurer and the leader of Blue Roses. She is part of the nobility, friend of the Re-Estize Royal Family and loyal to the people of Re-Estize Kingdom. She acts as a faith based magic caster and warrior priestess of her adventurer group.
----
* AscendedFangirl: Was a huge fan of the adventurer group Red Drop as a child, which sparked her desire to become an adventurer. Now she's an adamantite ranked adventurer who leads her own famous group.
* BlackSwordsAreBetter: Wields Kilineiram, one of the Dark Knight of the Thirteen Heroes' Four Swords of Darkness. Said to be a powerful cursed blade capable of destroying a country that threatens to corrupt its wielder. [[spoiler:It's actually a weapon from YGGDRASIL, and not a particularly powerful one at that, though going by the New World's much lower standards (where a level 35 creature is a mythical force of destruction) it's not impossible that Kilineiram may indeed be powerful enough to raze cities. It's heavily implied that the whole "evil corrupting" nature of the sword is actually something Lakyus made up, since sentient items didn't exist in YGGDRASIL.]]
* {{Chuunibyou}}: An interesting case as, in this instance, the character is what she's pretending to be. Unlike a traditional version of this trope, Lakyus is a spell caster and has magic powers and weapons. She just likes to let her adventurer fangirlism go nuts and exaggerate the lifestyle more than necessary. It's implied she has a pretty severe case of this, even faking a "dark personality" and hyping up the possibly non-existent corrupting nature of Kilineiram. However, she at least has enough sense to keep it out of her public persona and gets very embarrassed whenever she realizes she's slipped up in front of others. The second season of the Anime confirms it. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1M80P-cvps Hilariously.]]
* FlyingWeapon: Her Floating Swords act as shields or projectile weapons, depending on the situation.
* HonorBeforeReason: In volume 14 she refuses to escape and insists on staying behind to defend the Kingdom of Re-Estize against the Sorcerer Kingdom even though there is no chance of survival. [[spoiler:So her teammates poison, beat, and debuff her enough to make her vulnerable to mind control magic to ''make'' her escape with them.]]
* TheLeader: Of Blue Roses.
* MadeOfIron: It says a lot about Lakyus' resiliency [[spoiler: when it takes being poisoned, beaten up, stabbed, and choked before succumbing to Evileye's Resist Weakening and Charm Person spells. Note that the rest of Blue Roses weren't trying to kill her, but simply subdue her so they could leave Re Estize safely but it still took fellow Adamantite adventurers to keep her down.]]
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Her Floating Swords are wielded via mental commands.
* SenselessSacrifice: Averted thanks to her teammates. She refuses to abandon Re-Estize even knowing she would make no difference when fighting the Sorcerer Kingdom. The rest of Blue Roses pragmatically decide it's better that they beat and mind-control her into escaping with them rather than attempt to talk her out of it.
* SpottingTheThread: She actually briefly suspected that Renner was [[FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon not what she seemed]]. However, she decided that that was a crazy thought and that she was just imagining things.
* VirginPower: A minor example. Her armor "Virgin Snow" supposedly can only be worn by virgins.
* WhiteMage: She's the cleric of the group, and the first native shown capable of resurrection magic.
* YinYangBomb: She is a cleric specializing in healing and buffing, but also wields a blade that emits waves of dark magic.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gagaran]]
[[quoteright:255:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gagaran.png]]
-> '''Voiced by''': Creator/KimikoSaito (Japanese), Creator/ColleenClinkenbeard (English)[[labelnote: Foreign [=VAs=]]] Mariana Trenado (Latin American Spanish), Claudine Grémy (French), Katy Karrenbauer (German), Creator/PatriziaSalmoiraghi (Italian), Fernanda Bock (Brazilian Portuguese)[[/labelnote]]

An adamantite ranked adventurer and a warrior from Blue Roses.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: To Climb. Downplayed in that she is (mostly) joking around and is fine with him refusing her propositions.
* BackFromTheDead: Killed easily by [[spoiler:Demiurge]] and brought back by Lakyus.
* BrawnHilda: She is extremely muscular with a very mannish looking face, even getting mistaken for a man in some cases. [[AbhorrentAdmirer All of her attempts to sleep with Climb get rejected immediately.]]
* TheBigGuy: She is the biggest member of Blue Roses and has the most physical strength among them.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: The narration says that she is the most emotional of the members of Blue Roses, and when she finds out that Entoma killed a child she prays for the child's soul.
* CarryABigStick: Her weapon of choice is a massive war hammer. Its head is about as big as her own.
* DoYouWantToCopulate: To Climb, constantly, much to his chagrin.
* EmotionalBruiser: As mentioned under BruiserWithASoftCenter.
* HasAType: She likes taking the virginity of men.
* HonorBeforeReason: When she found Entoma chewing on the arm of a dead criminal, she refused to accept Entoma's warnings to just leave her be. This resulted in her overpowering Gagaran and Tia and had Evileye not appeared she would have killed all three.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Despite being one of the top ranked adventurers in the country, Gagaran isn't afraid to admit when she is outmatched against an opponent. She openly admits that a gigant basilisk monster is the worst kind of opponent for a melee warrior such as herself, and doesn't express confidence at fighting someone such as Gazef, who is nearly in the realm of Heroes.
* LadyLooksLikeADude: In her official art she could easily be mistaken for a man.
* LightningBruiser: She's extremely strong and can swing her hammer at amazing speeds. [[spoiler:Just not as fast as Entoma and Demiurge.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: Her EstablishingCharacterMoment is her essentially asking Climb if she can take his virginity.
* SuperStrength: Thanks to magical buffs, her strength is far beyond what a normal human could have.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Evileye]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ivileye.png]]
-> '''Voiced by''': Creator/YumiriHanamori (Japanese), Stephanie Garrett (English)[[labelnote: Foreign [=VAs=]]] Gaby Pérez (Latin American Spanish), Creator/CarolineCombes (French), Mayke Dähn (German), Virginia Astarita (Italian), Isabella Guarnieri (Brazilian Portuguese)[[/labelnote]]

An adamantite ranked adventurer and the most powerful magic caster of Blue Roses. She is a former companion of the Thirteen Heroes and she is also known as Landfall.
----
* AllEncompassingMantle: Wears a red mantle with additional inexplicably floating bits over her shoulders and a hood.
* AscendedExtra: In the Bonus Light Novel, "Vampire Princess of the Lost Country." She's not only one of the major characters in the book, [[spoiler:but she and Satoru even go on to found the New Ainz Ooal Gown]].
* BarrierWarrior: "Crystal Wall" can be used as a shield.
* BestHerToBedHer: She muses in the past that she scorned those who look for a knight in shining armor stronger than themselves rather than relying on their strength, but in the present she finds herself crushing hard on Momon after he saves her from Jaldabaoth.
* BigDamnHeroes: To Tia and Gagaran, and it would have worked too, except that Demiurge pulled a literal DiabolusExMachina in Entoma's defense.
* BirdsOfAFeather: In a rather amusing twist, despite being the one LoveInterest Ainz wants nothing to do with and actively dislikes, Evileye is the one that, at least combat-wise, is most similar to Ainz, both being {{Red Mage}}s that prefer versatility over raw power. Out of combat they also share some similarities, like trying to put up the image of all-knowing magic caster but having their own silly sides, the only difference being that Evileye's companions actively try to bring that side out.
* BrokenFaceplate: Yuri Alpha punches the lower part of her mask off while fighting her during Demiurge's attack on Re-Estize.
* CoolMask: Wears one to hide her vampiric features.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite being a centuries old vampire, she's actually fairly heroic, in contrast to the vicious Shalltear. She greatly values her companions and is repulsed by man eating monsters like Entoma. She also warns Climb about the dangers of pursuing strength at the cost of discarding his humanity, warning him that while becoming something like an undead might increase his power, it would also twist his mind into that of a monster.
* DishingOutDirt: Specializes in Earth elemental magic.
* DramaticIrony: She's horribly misinformed about the situation with Momon. Even when discounting that Momon was actually Ainz, the leader of the faction her group is fighting against (and is buddies with Jaldabaoth[=/=]Demiurge), her duel against Entoma that ends up with the battle maid being gravely wounded has earned Ainz's wrath against her.
* DramaticHighPerching: Pulls this off with a large crystal lance used as a projectile.
* ExtraOreDinary: She summons large crystal lances as weapons. This requires two different stages of specialization, however, which leaves her weaker in other types of magic.
* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: [[spoiler:Was a former companion of the Thirteen Heroes. Pro-human propaganda ensured she would go down in history as a villainous vampire the Thirteen Heroes killed.]]
* HollywoodAcid: Her acid summoning spells work like this.
* HopelessSuitor: For one, Momon (Ainz) truly has no interest, for various reasons. Top of the list is her mutual enmity with Entoma.
* LovingAShadow: She has a huge crush on Momon, considering him a great hero. He's... not. At all. Perhaps it's for the best that he can barely refrain from killing her, let alone return her feelings.
* ManOfKryptonite: Her Vermin Bane spell is a hard counter to Entoma's insectoid nature and reliance on insects to fight, and Evileye is close enough to Entoma's level that her attacks are effective. Against other Nazarick [=NPCs=], she's about as helpless as everyone else.
* MeaningfulRename: She was originally known as Keno Fasris Invern before taking up her current name.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: As an undead, she hints that her status affects the way she thinks and feels or used to in the past, though she seems to have overcome this issue for the most part. Either way, she's definitely different from vampires like Shalltear in that her appearance is merely frozen as she was before death rather than some type of inhuman monster and is supposedly weaker under sunlight, though not to the point that it directly endangers her. Finally, like Ainz, she spreads negative energy with her touch, but only if she chooses to.
** It is implied in the novels, that Evileye's "Vampire Princess" class actually didn't exist in YGGDRASIL, with the Vampire racial classes stopping at "True Vampire" (Shalltear's highest level vampire racial class) despite not having any levels in any lower-level vampire classes, since the New World doesn't actually operate on the same system as YGGDRASIL.
** Her alternative timeline side-story character cards reveal that [[spoiler:she was turned into a vampire as a side effect of the world's native Wild Magic, not YGGDRASIL magic, which probably explains why she turned out differently from YGGDRASIL vampires]].
* PoisonousPerson: Thanks to her spell Vermin Bane which she developed herself, she's especially poisonous to insects. This allows her to actually gain an edge over Entoma, whereas most New World residents can't touch a Nazarick NPC, which is helped by the fact that she's just a few levels lower than her.
* PowerIsSexy: Is smitten with Momon when she realizes just how much stronger he is than her.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: She's physically twelve years old, though chronologically she's over 250.
* RedBaron: She was formerly known as Landfall, a legendary Vampire Lord.
* RedMage: She generally looks down on casters who rely on pure damage spells, instead preferring status and trap effects. That doesn't mean she can't fight and she is the first person from this world to put up a real fight against a denizen of Nazarick (with help from her teammates), [[spoiler:nearly killing Entoma before Demiurge saves her]].
* RescueRomance: Falls hopelessly for Momon after he rescues her [[spoiler:from Demiurge]].
* SixthRanger: Of Blue Roses. She's the most powerful, aloof member of the team who joined last.
* SmittenTeenageGirl: Acts like one anytime she thinks of or is around Momon. Even [[TheDitz Narberal]] of all people picks up on it.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her name's spelling has officially been changed from "Ivileye" to "Evileye" and back again in Volume 7 (which may have been translated before Volume 6.)
* TechnicolorEyes: Back when she was alive, her eyes were rainbow-colored. Currently, as a vampire, she has red eyes.
* UndeadChild: Undead preteen anyway. She's a vampire stuck as twelve-year-old.
* VampireLolitaArchetype: Evileye is an over 250-year-old Vampire Princess with the body of a 12-year-old and strawberry long blonde hair.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tia and Tina]]
[[quoteright:219:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tina_tia.png]]

Twin sisters who are also adamantite ranked adventurers and members of Blue Roses.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Tia was killed by Jaldabaoth, and later resurrected by Lakyus.
* BecomingTheMask: They originally joined Blue Roses so that they could later betray them, but soon decided that GoodFeelsGood.
* BigDamnHeroes: Tia rescues Gagaran from Entoma just as she was about to be killed.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: The twins look identical and wear matching outfits, but Tina's is red while Tia's is blue.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: They joined Blue Roses after trying to kill Lakyus and failing.
* FlechetteStorm: They attack with throwing knives and kunai.
* HeelFaceTurn: Played with. They originally just pretended to have a HeelFaceTurn in order to kill Lakyus, but later decided to have a legitimate HeelFaceTurn.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: They're identical twins, but Tia wears blue while Tina wears red to tell them apart.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: They can summon a large shield of light using martial arts.
* MasterOfIllusion: They have illusion-based magical abilities.
* {{Ninja}}: They specialize in espionage, stealth, tracking, and assassinations.
* SupernaturalMartialArts: They possess these as part of their ninja occupation.
* ThemeTwinNaming: They're twins with nearly identical names.
[[/folder]]

!!Red Drop
An adamantite ranked adventurer group of the Re-Estize Kingdom that has been around longer than Blue Roses.
----
[[folder:Azuth Aindra]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azuth_anime.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YasuyukiKase (Japanese)

The leader of Red Drop and the uncle of Lakyus. He is also a retired adventurer.
----
* ClothesMakeTheSuperman: He's only adamantite rank because he uses the [[PoweredArmor Armor of Reinforcement]], an item from YGGDRASIL, and focuses his classes and skills in using it. Without it, he'd be orichalcum rank at best.
* HiddenDepths: At first glance, you'd see him as a womanizer who is all too open about his sexual relations. However, he was able to become an adamantite ranked adventurer and is privy to information that is not widely known [[spoiler:such as the patron of the Black Scripture]]. He is also not an idiot, and knows when he's out of his depth, like against the Sorcerer Kingdom. [[spoiler:It also turns out that he ultimately ''does'' want to save the Kingdom. He's just smart enough to make sure he has backup in the form of Platinum Dragon Lord in his bid to stop Ainz.]]
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: He knows perfectly well that he doesn't stand a chance against Ainz even with his Armor of Reinforcement and that there's no way the Re-Estize Kingdom will survive the war with the Sorcerer Kingdom. He tries to convince his relatives to flee the Kingdom while they still can rather than stay behind to defend it. [[spoiler:And while he does go on to attack Ainz, he makes sure to have backup in the form of Platinum Dragon Lord controlling his remote armor.]]
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Because he revealed himself to save a city when [[spoiler:the Sorcerer Kingdom waged war on the Re-Estize Kingdom]], Platinum Dragon Lord's plan to probe the Sorcerer King's abilities is (unknowingly) foiled because [[spoiler:Ainz decided to have Pandora's Actor go in his stead]]; all because Azuth's appearance put Nazarick on their guard.
* NoHeroToHisValet: He's the leader of one of the most famous adamantite Adventurer teams, but his niece Lakyus finds him embarrassing since he's ''very'' open about his sexual relations. For starters, he doesn't see anything wrong with inviting his niece and her teammates into his room while he's about to engage in a threesome with a pair of escorts.
* PoweredArmor: The Armor of Reinforcement is this, complete with the ability to fly and a carbine. The Armor is strong enough to curbstomp a Death Knight, a being strong enough to slay an entire army of normal soldiers by itself. [[spoiler:It is no match at all for Albedo though.]]
* UnwittingPawn: He seems to have no idea that [[spoiler:Platinum Dragon Lord]] sees him as disposable.
[[/folder]]

!!Darkness
One of the three strongest adamantite ranked adventurer group of Re-Estize Kingdom, considered to be the most powerful adventurer party in the Kingdom.
----
[[folder:In General]]
* AdventureDuo: The group supposedly only has two members. But given it's Ainz and Narberal Gamma, there's actually way more.
* EvilHero: Given the subject, they likely aren't going to be help against the newest threats against the New World. Everyone still falls for it no problem, however.
* FamedInStory: Despite being the newest adamantite adventurer group of the Kingdom, Darkness is considered the most powerful, with many heroic deeds to their name.
* LazyAlias: Ainz just took his in-game alias "Momonga" and Naberal's original name and dropped the last syllable to make "Momon" and "Nabe." It works since nobody native in the New World knows who Momonga is.
* MeaningfulAppearance: Ainz's Momon attire is based on the type of warrior he wants to be if he could create another character. His cape and sword is also respectively based on Touch Me's scarf and Warrior Takemikazuchi's katana.
* ShroudedInMyth: Because nobody in the New World really knows Ainz's interpersonal relations, their origin is a highly debated topic, with many theories going around. One such theory, for instance, is that Momon is secretly royalty hailing from a distant, fallen country, and that Nabe is both a noble from the same country and his lover. Another less savoury theory is that Nabe is Momon's slave, though [[TheoryTunnelVision anyone who believes that]] usually thinks [[EntitledToHaveYou they can earn Nabe's affections]] by "[[UnwantedRescue rescuing]]" her.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: They are regarded as heroes by the public, and only Ainz's fellow Nazarick inner circle know that it's actually Ainz himself pulling off EngineeredHeroics to subjugate other Kingdoms from the inside.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Momon]]
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/momon_9.png]]

Also known as the "Darkness Hero", he is in fact, Ainz in disguise to do recon in the New World.
----
* See [[Characters/Overlord2012AinzOoalGown his page]] for tropes related to him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nabe]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nabe.png]]

One of the "Pleiades Six Stars" from Nazarick in disguise as the adventurer group's magic caster.
----
* See [[Characters/Overlord2012NazarickNPCs Narberal Gamma's section]] for tropes related to her.
[[/folder]]

!!Kralgra
A Mithril ranked adventurer group of the Re-Estize Kingdom.
----
[[folder:Igvarge]]
The leader of the Adventurer group Kralgra.
----
* CameBackWrong: It is implied that his corpse was used to create Iguva=41.
* DirtyCoward: His idea of "assisting" Momon was to bring a his team of adventurers, loyal to himself, and only himself, hang back and then kill the winner of the fight between Momon and the legendary vampire so he could take all the credit and glory. When he learned that Momon/Ainz had his OWN backup, the first thing he did was run away, deliberately sacrificing his followers so he could run back to the adventurer's guild and discredit Momon. [[spoiler: This failed because [[TheEngineer Mare]] turned the forest into one giant maze to prevent escape, and when Igvarge tried to capture Mare and use him as a hostage (after contemplating engaging in a bit of rape first, thinking Mare was a girl), Mare summarily killed him.]]
* DrivenByEnvy: He wanted to be the newest Adamantite rank adventurer in the Re-Estize Kingdom, not the "foreign upstart", Momon.
* GlorySeeker: Good, bad, or ugly, the only thing that matters is getting the coveted adamantite plate for himself and becoming a LivingLegend.
* GreenEyedMonster: Was completely envious at how quickly Momon rose through the ranks, and his accomplishments.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: Did everything in his power to try and stop Momon from advancing in the adventurer's guild.
* TooDumbToLive: When warned that following Momon to fight a legendary vampire meant certain death, he went anyway. [[spoiler: Momonga had him and his party killed to avoid revealing that Shalltear is his subordinate, blaming the deaths on collateral damage from the battle.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: More like would rape a child. Unfortunately for him, the "child" was [[BewareTheNiceOnes Mare]].
[[/folder]]

!!Other groups
[[folder:Rainbow]]
A Mithril ranked adventurer group of the Re-Estize Kingdom.

!!Moknach
->'''Voiced by:''' Tooru Sakurai (Japanese), Creator/JeremyInman (English)[[labelnote: Foreign [=VAs=]]] Mauricio Malagón (Latin American Spanish), Thomas Balou Martin (German)[[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/moknach.png]]

A Mithril ranked adventurer and the leader of Rainbow.
----
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Is easily distracted by magic gems.
* HeroWorshipper: He deeply respects Momon. This respect is why he [[spoiler:stayed in E-Rantel after the Sorcerer Kingdom took it over]].
* HumbleHero: Despite being an exceptionally strong hero he has great respect for Momon, whom he acknowledges as his superior in abilities.
* NiceGuy: Especially in comparison to his fellow adventurer [[WouldHurtAChild Igvarge]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Swords of Darkness]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/swords_of_darkness.png]]
A Silver ranked adventurer group of E-Rantel.
----
* ForgottenFallenFriend: A muted example [[spoiler:as Momon only spent a day with them]], and also subverted.
** For starters, [[spoiler:Momon]] seemingly does not care about [[spoiler:their ignominious deaths at the hands of Clementine and Khaji, claiming he would inflict the same to them in different circumstances and that they weren't his friends. But when he finally murders Clementine, he calls back on their deaths as justification for [[CruelAndUnusualDeath Clementine's own prolonged death]], though not without chuckling that he was a {{Hypocrite}} with his intentions. Indeed, he was even going to stab her to death with one of the daggers they carried as a sign of their membership before he realized it would be too merciful]].
** Later, when Sebas brings back Tsuare, Ainz implies that part of his motivation for letting her stay in Nazarick is for Ninya's sake, [[spoiler:or at least her memory's]].
** Ainz also thinks about them when he talks about [[spoiler:how the Sorcerer Kingdom's state run Adventurer's Guild will train new adventurers so that they will not die young]].
** In volume 10, when he is about to confront the Frost Dragons [[spoiler:he remembers Ninya's promise to help him learn more about dragons and thinks it's a shame she died.]]
* HeroWorshipper: Of the Thirteen Heroes, especially the legends surrounding their swords.
* SacrificialLamb: [[spoiler:They don't stick around very long before the local bad guys make a power play with them coincidentally in the way.]]
* TrueCompanions: They were this to each other.
* WeakButSkilled: At least in regards to their level. Definitely true compared to Momon.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:They barely spend a day with Momon before they are brutally murdered by Clementine and Khajit.]]

!!Peter Mauk
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peter_mork_databook.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KazuyukiOkitsu (Japanese), Creator/CliffordChapin (English)[[labelnote: Foreign [=VAs=]]] Juan Carlos Román (Latin American Spanish), Yannick Blivet (French), Christian Wunderlich (German), Andrea Colombo Giardinelli (Italian), Thiago Córdova (Brazilian Portuguese)[[/labelnote]]

A silver ranked adventurer and leader of the Swords of Darkness.
----
* HeroesPreferSwords: His weapon is a sword.

----
* ChivalrousPervert: Hits on Nabe constantly, much to her annoyance. He takes her brutal rebuffs as "playing hard to get," almost to S&M levels.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: His main weapon is a bow and arrow.
* SuperSenses: He noticed the Ogres approaching the adventuring party before anyone else, even Nabe and Momon.

* AllThereInTheManual: According to the Mass of the Dead event featuring Tuare, [[spoiler:Ninya's real name is Celicia Veyron just as her nickname is "Celi".]]
* BarrierWarrior: Most of his combat spells are based on blocking enemy attacks.
* BilingualBonus: The name Ninya is very similar, phonetically, to the Spanish word for "girl".
* BoringButPractical: His spells aren't very flashy, but they're quite practical.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:Clementine is shown to have gouged her eyes out in the process of torturing her to death.]]

!!Workers
A worker is a job similar to an adventurer. Workers receive and solve requests on their own, without going through the Adventurer's Guild. While this means that they don't have the support structure that the adventurers get through the guild, this also means that they're free to take on jobs that adventurers would otherwise not touch.
----
[[folder:Foresight]]
One of the four worker groups that volunteered to explore and investigate the mysterious Large Tomb.
----
* FatalFlaw: Greed. Unlike the other Workers, Foresight is a genuine team of TrueCompanions who value each other. Sadly they are motivated by money above all else, and even though Arche has a justified and heroic reason for wanting money, all four are more concerned with their OneLastJob, and this leads them to make the mistake of telling Ainz in his Momon identity that they only care for money. [[spoiler:It's implied that this choice is what makes Ainz feel NoSympathy for them when he fights them later.]]
* {{Foil}}: In many ways, they are reminiscent of what Ainz Ooal Gown (the guild) would have been like in its heyday - a group of TrueCompanions diving fearlessly into the unknown for riches and glory. In contrast, the Ainz we see today is a broken man sunken into evil and [[LovingAShadow fighting desperately in the name of glory days long gone by, a guild that fell apart in all but name, and friends who have long since moved on to other things]]. Imina even tries to invoke this [[spoiler:during their HeroicSacrifice to get Ainz to let Arche go]]. Tragically, [[TheBadGuyWins Ainz's shadow cause still triumphs over their very real one]].
* HeroicSacrifice: The rest of the group attempt this to buy enough time for Arche to escape. [[spoiler:It doesn’t work.]]
* HopelessBossFight: Their fight against Ainz is less of a fight than Ainz just toying with them and running them all over while Shalltear finishes Arche when she tries to run. Long story short they aren't the first, nor the last of a list of victims who would challenge Ainz or his minions to a fight and die.
* IronicName: Their group is named, "Foresight", yet their OneLastJob ended with unforeseen consequences.
* OneLastJob: The group's mission to explore the Tomb of Nazarick was going to be this for the group as a whole. Arche was going to use the money from it and leave to provide a better home for her sisters, and with the group's concerns about finding a replacement for her, it was implied that they were considering quitting after the mission ended. Sadly, they made the mistake of taking the mission.
* TrueCompanions: Lampshaded. They have been a team for a very long time, especially by Worker standards. They've been through so many missions together that they might as well be family.
* WeakButSkilled: They're nowhere near strong enough to battle Ainz, but they're the only Worker group to actually hold their own somewhat decently against the enemy they fought against. Their teamwork is impressive as well; together they managed to impress Ainz enough to actually take them a bit more seriously.

The leader of Foresight and also a worker.
----
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: During his fight with [[spoiler:Ainz]] he puts himself at risk to save Imina even though he realizes that she is the least useful member of the team in this situation [[note]] As she is a Ranger in a team of Warrior, Healer and Mage she could die without disrupting the teams synergy too much while the death of himself as the only warrior would put the rest of the team in danger [[/note]] and he should take another action as team leader.
* BattleCouple: Between him and Imina. Roberdyck even teases him about settling down with Imina.
* BodyHorror: [[spoiler:It's mentioned that he gained ''weight'' after becoming a "nest" for Gashokukochuuou's parasites as a result of being bloated with them.]]
* CoverIdentityAnomaly: He almost succeeds in bluffing his way out of Nazarick. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, his lie is that one of Ainz’s friends sent him to say hi to Ainz. What Hekkeran doesn’t know is that they would call him Momonga not Ainz, this leads to Ainz PullingTheThread and lying about his friends only pushes Ainz's BerserkButton]]
* DontAskJustRun: Does this when confronted with Elder Liches, his team carry out his orders.
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:Becomes a "nest" for Gashokukochuuou's parasites.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Justified. Hekkeran realized that him and his worker associates had intruded among someone else's home and tried to apologize for their intrusion. When all else failed, Hekkeran tried to bluff his way by appealing to Ainz's desperate search for his past comrades and was doing well for himself before he said the [[OhCrap wrong thing]] that incurred Ainz's wrath. What Hekkeran attempted to do wasn't wrong, he just picked the wrong person to try and lie to.

A worker and priest of Foresight.

* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:Ainz keeps him alive [[ForScience to see if "god" exists.]]]]
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: The reason Roberdyck became a worker was that he didn’t agree with some rules of the guild like having to charge people money for healing spells. [[note]] The reason for this is to prevent shrine and temples from going bankrupt and allow them to remain independent as this could have negative effects. [[/note]]
* TheUnintelligible: [[spoiler:After getting his memories repeatedly manipulated, he could barely make complete sentences.]]

A worker and magic caster of Foresight who volunteered to explore and investigate the mysterious large tomb. She was also a former noble and a student of the Magic Academy.
----
* AuraVision: Her talent enables her to see a person's aura to gauge their strength. [[spoiler:Seeing Ainz's aura once he removes the ring which hides his real power causes her to vomit in fear.]]
* BreakTheCutie: And how. It started when Emperor Jircniv ascended to the throne and stripped her family of their noble status. Then her irresponsible parents refused to curb their lavish spending habits despite no longer having the assets to support them, driving the family into massive debt to [[LoanShark shady organizations]]. For the sake of her beloved younger twin sisters, she had no choice but to give up a promising future as [[TheArchmage Fluder Paradyne's]] student so she could work to pay off the debt. She became a Worker because it was the only feasible way to earn enough money before the deadline. Then team Foresight takes the job of exploring Nazarick, where they are pitted against Ainz himself, who does Arche a "kindness" by ordering Shalltear to kill her painlessly, but not before teaching her [[DespairEventHorizon the meaning of true despair]].
* CallingTheOldManOut: The last thing she does before heading to Nazarick is this. Unfortunately, it makes no impression on her parents at all. [[ComicallyMissingThePoint They even call her "foolish" for speaking out against her parents.]]
* DeathByAdaptation: In the web series, she survives Nazarick (thanks to fan polling), [[spoiler:though as Shalltear's slave, and her sisters are brought to Nazarick under Ainz's protection]]. The author felt the way she survived was out-of-character for those involved, so for the light novel adaptation, she instead gets killed off.
* HumanResources: The Light Novel goes into pretty gory detail concerning her fate. [[spoiler:Her voicebox is given to Entoma to replace the one she lost fighting Blue Roses, Demiurge gets her skin, her head is used as a decoration, and the rest of her joins the larder.]]
* ImpoverishedPatrician: She is a former noble trying to make herself and her family a living despite the massive debts incurred by her parents, who have refused to swallow their pride or give up their extravagant lifestyle.
* {{Irony}}: The last time her parents are seen, they are '''borrowing even more gold''' (without confirming the amount they're being given in hand) while she's "away" (she's already dead), and [[RightForTheWrongReasons they call her foolish]], promising to give her a "proper punishment" when she returns for calling them out on their ridiculous spending habits. Even the [[LoanShark moneylender]] is more sympathetic than them, and actually feels sorry for her. Also, unbeknownst to those "aristocrats", he's already preparing "foreclosure" to at least recover the ''principal'' of their outstanding debt. No mention is made of what he's planning regarding the interest.
* MercyKill: Ainz, moved by the fact that Foresight are TrueCompanions, grants her this by ordering Shalltear to block her escape and kill her directly. It is the only mercy he shows in the entire arc.
* OhCrap: She starts to vomit repeatedly out of raw fear the moment [[spoiler:Ainz removes the ring that hides his true power]].
* OneLastJob: The reward for exploring Nazarick would have been enough for Arche to pay off her family's debt.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: She wouldn't even be a worker if her parents weren't insistent on living like nobles without actually having the financial means to do so, and that's '''after''' being in debt to shady organizations with the deadline on the loan rapidly approaching, for an amount that even high ranked adventurers would be hard pressed to earn.
* PointOfDivergence: [[spoiler:While she still dies in ''Mass of the Dead'', she actually succeeds in awakening her father from his false reality and saving her sisters, unlike canon.]]
* RedBaron: "Beloved Older Sister who is also a younger sister herself."
* {{Retirony}}: Was planning on taking her sisters away from their awful parents after the Nazarick job was done and giving up being a Worker to raise them herself.
* SchrodingersCast: Arche's fate varies between media. In the original Web Novel, she survives the annihilation of Foresight and the rest of the Workers, but is forced to live out her days as Shalltear's sex slave. When the time came for her to finally make an appearance in the Light Novel, [[DeathByAdaptation she instead dies at the hands of Shalltear]].
* StressVomit: When her AuraVision reveals just how powerful Ainz really is, she starts vomiting and crying in fear. She doesn't stop until Roberdyck casts a courage buffing spell to calm her down.
* TeenGenius: She’s capable of using tier 3 magic (which is considered high for the setting) despite her young age and before she had to leave the magical academy many people considered her capable of reaching the same level as Fluder Paradyne (the strongest known wizard in the world), she also possesses the same magical talent as him.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:Along with her twin younger sisters.]]
* TragicDream: Took on the Worker profession to get her family, specifically her younger sisters, out of a massive debt her foolish "aristocrat" parents got them into. A post by the author on his website confirmed that [[spoiler:Arche's twin sisters were sold off to slavery, and eventually died of overwork.]]

* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:Becomes a "nest" for Gashokukochuuou's parasites.]]
* TrickArrow: Her arrows do crushing damage instead of piercing damage. [[spoiler:This would actually have been a useful tactic against Ainz - who resists piercing damage but is weak to bludgeoning damage - [[OvershadowedByAwesome were it not for the ridiculous level difference between them making him immune to her attacks outright]].]]
* WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway: Her Talent allows her to float well in water and tend to not sink. It doesn't even guarantee her not sinking.

A veteran worker and the leader of Dragon Hunt.
----
* BeneathTheMask: He acts friendly to other Worker groups when interacting with them, but admits to his own group that he is willing to sacrifice those very same groups in order to ensure the tomb's safety.
* CoolOldGuy: He's decades older than the retirement age for his profession but is still skilled enough to be Mithril ranked.
* CurbStompBattle: He and his team are completely outmatched by the Old Guarders. Even the Pleiades (almost) feel bad for them and start to cheer for Dragon Hunt in an attempt to make the fight a little less one-sided. It doesn't work.
* EntertaininglyWrong: When confronted by the Pleiades and the Nazarick Old Guarders, he concludes that the Old Guarders are the Tomb's strongest guardians and that the Pleiades are trying to trick them into running away instead of fighting. He takes the looks of shock on the Pleiades' faces when he says this as proof that he is correct. In reality, the Pleiades really did want his team to flee as a test of how quickly the Old Guarders could catch them. They were shocked at his inability to see just how badly his team was outmatched and at his assumption that the Old Guarders were the best Nazarick had to offer.
* EyesAlwaysShut: He always keeps his eyes closed.
* AFatherToHisMen: Cares for his troops and often rejects jobs that seem too dangerous, even though his men are annoyed at losing possible profits.
* ProperlyParanoid: He is worried about the danger in the lower levels of the ruins so he allows the other groups to go down first to act as canaries. [[spoiler:What he fails to realize is that the whole game was rigged from the start, and all he did was earn his team a slightly more straightforward death (those who survived the battle, not so much).]]
* StrongerWithAge: Averted. He used to have the strength of an Orichalcum adventurer until he got old.
* TooDumbToLive: The Pleiades certainly think so after he drastically underestimates the Old Guarders.

A worker and TheLeader of Heavy Masher.
----
* AntiquatedLinguistics: The way he speaks is odd and archaic. It's actually just an affectation, however, which is designed to hide the fact that he isn't very intelligent. Better to be thought a weirdo than a fool, which would undermine his authority.
* BenevolentBoss: Treats his worker team well and is loved by them.
* EatenAlive: [[spoiler:He and one of his teammates are eaten alive by Kyouhukou's roach swarm.]]
* FeigningIntelligence: Is the third child of a farmer, and has no formal education, but acts like a well-educated noble.
* OhCrap: He and his team lose the will to fight when they encounter seven Elder Liches at once. Gringham freaks out because 1) his team is horribly outmatched by them and 2) whatever rules the tomb is something strong enough to control seven powerful undead magic casters. He realizes far too late that his team should never have entered the tomb.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Is often mistaken for a dwarf, but he's one of the strongest members of Heavy Masher.

A worker and the leader of Tenmu. He and his slaves volunteered to explore and investigate the mysterious large tomb.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Believes himself to be the strongest swordsman, even superior to Gazef Stronoff, and won't hesitate to tell you.
* AssholeVictim: Unlike the fates of the other Workers which are played for horror and sympathy, Erya [[spoiler:getting curb-stomped by a giant hamster and having his own slaves kick his corpse]] is played for catharsis.
* BadBoss: During the foray into the tomb he has one of his slaves walk ahead of him so that she will be the first victim of any traps instead of him. He's awful even by ''slave owner'' standards. Other slave owners would be shocked by the way he treats his slaves as disposable [[PragmaticVillainy since elven slaves with useful class skills don't come cheap]]. He also equips them very poorly, reducing their chances of survival. That's not even getting into the physical, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse and racism.
* BreakTheHaughty: His confidence is shattered [[spoiler:after Hamsuke chops off his arms]]. He's reduced to pathetically shrieking for his slaves to help him.
* CasanovaWannabe: He thinks he's "god's gift to women." He's not. The only reason he has sex at all, [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil is because his slaves don't have the right to refuse]].
* CurbStompBattle: Is on the receiving end of one courtesy of [[spoiler:Hamsuke]]. At the end of the "fight", his opponent isn't even scratched. Erya on the other hand [[spoiler:got body-slammed, had his shoulder shattered, then (after being healed and enhanced with support magic) had his arms chopped off by Hamsuke's Martial Art "Slashing Strike". Hamsuke finishes him off by splitting his head in half with one last blow after his slaves refuse to help him.]]
* DoesNotLikeWomen: Forget his racism for a moment. His standard of "good sex" is squeezing a woman's breasts to make her scream, in agony. This even applies to [[WouldHurtAChild children]]. When thinking about Arche looking at him with disgust, he rationalizes that it's simply her being a child, and not understanding what sex is. The same look from [[HalfHumanHybrid Imina]] makes him fantasize about brutally raping her.
* DueToTheDead: A justified negative example. [[spoiler:The slaves he abused spend a few minutes kicking his corpse as payback for everything he did to them.]]
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His introduction has him beating one of his own elven slaves.
* FantasticRacism: Speculated to be a result of being raised in the [[AbsoluteXenophobe Slane Theocracy]], Erya is heavily prejudiced against non-humans, including half-bloods.
* FalseFriend: He attempts to schmooze with the adventure Momon, though he finds the latter self-righteous, likely as a way to earn a powerful connection.
* LeeroyJenkins: He wanted to invade the tomb full of unknown dangers via brute force. The other Workers convinced him otherwise.
* MadnessMakeover: At his best, he looks fairly handsome and reasonable, racism and misogyny aside. Once the battle against [[spoiler:Hamsuke]] ''[[ThisCannotBe isn't]]'' going as he expected, he slowly becomes much more outwardly unhinged, ''especially'' [[spoiler:once he [[AnArmAndALeg gets his arms sliced off]]]].
* MyNameIsInigoMontoya: [[DefiedTrope Defied]]; he refuses to give his name to "a mere beast" like Hamsuke, who calls him a "nameless fool" in response.
* KarmicDeath: It's fitting that an arrogant racist jerk who looks down on anyone who isn't human [[spoiler:is defeated by a giant hamster and denied aid by the elven slaves he abused]].
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: One of many reasons the other workers don't get along with him. The half-elf Imina of team Foresight understandably has to constantly resist the urge to kill him because he owns and abuses elven slaves. He manages to be even worse than the average slave owner in this setting, most of whom would be shocked by the way he treats his slaves (all elves with class skills meaning they are useful and ''expensive'') as disposable.
* SmugSnake: This guy could give Clementine and Zero a run for their money in the arrogance department, while not being half as capable as either. To highlight this, while those two were curbstomped by Ainz and Sebas Tian, he was curbstomped by [[spoiler:a giant hamster]].
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: None of the other Workers can stand him for perfectly good reasons.
* TooDumbToLive: He was doomed anyway in the long run due to the difference of power between him and his opponent, but still, [[spoiler:maybe '''don't''' horrifically abuse the people '''whose help you're depending on to survive''', how's that sound?]]
* WeHaveReserves: Erya threw away his slaves whenever he got bored of them because he felt that he could always get more.

!!Elven Slaves
Slaves that Erya bought to use on the field and in the bedroom.
----
* BrokenBird: The slaves are very broken because they have a ''very'' horrible owner.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:They end up not helping him in his final battle and kicking his corpse until they pass out from exhaustion for all the things he did to them.]]
* EarAche: Their ears are clipped to make them about as big as human ears, likely as a [[SlaveBrand way to identify them as slaves]].
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:They end up living happily on the 6th Floor of Nazarick as Aura and Mare's personal attendants. This is because Ainz felt they didn't invade Nazarick of their own free will, making them deserving of mercy.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: [[spoiler:Ainz hopes they can become this for Aura and Mare.]]
* SlaveBrand: As a symbol of how they've been made slaves to humans, their ears have been [[EarAche clipped]] to better resemble the ears of humans.
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: They are treated like sex objects and disposable tools by Erya. It's especially bad in that other slave owners look down on Erya for treating what would otherwise be expensive merchandise like expendable garbage.
* SupportPartyMember: All of them know various forms of healing and support magic to buff Erya, making his willingness to mistreat them that much dumber when he finally winds up against an opponent that can overcome him.
