!! Louise de la Valliere
The daughter of two Heroes, Louise has a quite unexpected natural talent at Evil. Perhaps that's because of the way that every single relative on her father's side, apart from her father, is a depraved villain - and often very successful ones at that. Certainly her blood has passed down a natural preference for staying inside her body which most of the other villains in the world seem to lack.

Currently trying to crush the Regency Council of Tristain beneath her steel boot, as part of a secretly not-evil plan.

* Animals Hate Her: Well, ponies do.
* BadBoss: She treats the minions with disgust and contempt. Ironically, this is pretty much the only way they can function effectively.
* ChainmailBikini: The notion was pushed to Louise by Jessica at first, but Louise averted it in the end by having a full set of armor that only exposes a small area around her mouth. This turned out to be the better option for both the overlord and the blacksmith.
* CombatStilettos: Louise's armor has some but is also enchanted so she can actually run in them.
* EvilOverlord: Perhaps the cutest, shortest one currently extant in Halkeginia. Also quite naturally skilled at it.
** BigBad: Emerging as one, if nomination as the Best Newcomer is any indication.
* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: In her own narration.
* She Who Must Not Be Seen: A side-effect of Louise's public appearances in her suit of armor at first, but Jessica then works to push this as her image.
* SickAndWrong: Her reaction to a noblewoman who's disturbingly eager to be used to "slake her dark lusts".
* TinTyrant: What she's supposed to look like.
* ToThePain: Louise's threats if her minions screw up tend to go this way, of course that's what makes them so effective.
** Of particular note is when she declared that anyone who interrupted her bath for anything less than an attack on the tower would be flogged half to death unless there was a method to revive them. Then they'd be flogged to death, revived, and flogged within an inch of their life.
* VillainProtagonist: Zigzagged all the time; on the one hand, she tries to secretly not be evil and fight corruption, but on the other hand she uses evil, and adorably pink, hellfire, dresses as a TinTyrant, and has committed arson, grand larceny and murder to further her goals, yet is in denial about it and tries to justify it as her actions ultimately serving good.

!!Scarron
Originally a minor character from the series. Here, Scarron is an incubus prince of The Abyss, but he has been locked in the surface world due to the actions of Jessica's mother. He operates the inn/bar in Bruxelles, a hotbed of adventuring activity.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Whenever he goes into what he'll have to do if Jessica dies, Louise finds herself wanting to run screaming from the room and lock herself in her room for several days.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Scarron is definitely Evil, but he cares about his daughter deeply and sincerely.
* InformedAbility: His EyeBeams, which the reader only knew via Jessica's comparison to hers.
* KnowledgeBroker: His main occupation, although he deals in rare physical stuff too.
* SuccubiAndIncubi: An Incubus.

!!Jessica
Originally a minor character from the series. Here, Jessica is the half-incubus daughter of Scarron, and a skilled blacksmith. She acts as a liaison between Louise and Scarron at first, but later goes to live in the tower as the resident blacksmith/couturier.

* TheBlacksmith: She also does couture for our protagonists.
* BlessedWithSuck: If she loses focus, she'll project incredible amounts of masculinity, causing others to see her as a man despite her voluptuous figure.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Do to above mentioned BlessedWithSuck, woman are highly attracted to her.
* EvilGenius: Shares this role with Gnarl. Her armorer and couture skills are top-notch, since Louise's first costume earned her a nomination for an abyssal award.
* EyeBeams: Notably weaker than her father's.
* FantasticRacism: Faces this amongst her peers in The Abyss due to the blood of her Hero mother.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Born from the union of Scarron and a heroic woman, making her a half-incubus.
* HulkingOut: She can turn buff when angry or excited.
* IDidntMeanToTurnYouOn: Turns girls on whenever she's excited or incensed.
* MissingMom: Her mother raped her father then ran off with the source of his power.
* TheNicknamer: "Lou" for Louise, and "Henri" for Henrietta so far.
* NonActionGuy: Despite having considerable might, she prefers to stay in the tower and ensure the quality of Louise's armor and fashion.
* OverlyLongName: Her real name is practically a sentence.

!!Count Mott
Originally a minor villain in the series. Here, Count Mott is one of The Regency Council alongside Wardes and two other nobles. The Council have the power second to the queen of Tristain herself, and with the queen's mental instability they pretty much run the country nowadays.

* AgentPeacock: A dandy person, but not averse to combat in general.
* DeusExMachina: The fight concluded with a timely cannon shot from minions manning the airship ripping him in half. Notable, since minions aren't really all that competent to begin with.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: After getting hit with cannon fire.
* HopelessBossFight: At that time, Louise has just mastered hellfire whereas Mott is a skilled water mage. Their duel goes about as well as it can be expected.
* KilledMidSentence: Sliced in half by a chain-shot cannonball as he was announcing his retreat and subsequent revenge to Louise.
* TheManBehindTheMan: The Council as a whole.
* WakeUpCallBoss: He is arguably the first antagonist who poses a legitimate threat to Louise.

!!Cattleya de la Valliere
Louise's sister from the series, she was sickly since she was young.spoiler: The wasting disease was only a ruse for her vampirism. After the whole business with Louis is concluded, Cattleya and her personal maid moves to the tower with Louise. Over the course of the story, she recruited another maid.

* BFS: Gets one when Louise and her prepares to storm Louis' lair.
* TheBrute: While not as mindless as some Brutes, she nevertheless constitutes most of the physical brawn in Louise's party.
* Cloudcuckoolander: Oh so very much.
* DemonicPossession: She is sired by Louis, after all. Later turned the table on Louis and drained him, to Louise's horror.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: Tries hard to be this, but results are mixed due to native vampiric instincts.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Despite being a vampire! She brought a loyal flock of wolves when she moved.
* LesbianVampire: Strongly implied.
* SdrawkcabName: She reflexively signs a letter as Ayelttac.
* UnskilledButStrong: How she manages with the greatsword.
* VoluntaryShapeshifter: Can turn into a flock of bats, mist, or a big wolf; possibly a shout-out to Alucard.
** ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: A problem later rectified by Jessica's armor. Still a problem on some non-enchanted clothes, though.
* WeaksauceWeakness: As with classical/Stokerian vampires, she has many mundane weakness (plus fire). Later on she gets an armor that functionally negates her weakness to sunlight, courtesy of Jessica.

!!Henrietta de Tristain
Tristain's crown princess and Louise's childhood friend. She was held captive for pledging herself to Wales Tudor, thus getting Tristain into a political tangle because she was publicly pledged to a prince of Germanian origin; The Tudors were later usurped from Albion's throne, further complicating matters.

* ChainmailBikini: Concedes that she needs at least this, after nearly being killed in an ambush within the tower.
* DamselInDistress: The planning of her eventual rescue was a major part of the storyline.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: A test dress she wore when the ambush happened. It protects about as well as it can be expected to.
* LudicrousGibs: She turns an assassin into a pile of mush by turning the water in his body to mist.
* Necromancer: Self-taught necromancer at that!
* SkeletonsInTheCoatCloset: Her latest set of armor includes a corset designed to look like a rib cage. She rather likes the skeletal hands supporting her breasts.
* Voice of The Overlady: Takes up this role to further the mysterious image of Louise's Overlady persona, plus she is more skilled in public speaking and oratory than Louise. In-costume, Jessica nicknamed her Voxi.

!!Karin of the Heavy Wind
* TheDreaded: Evil makes Chuck Norris style stories about her such as having a bear rug that's still alive but too afraid to move and not having fingers under her armor, only more wands.

!!Gnarl
Nasty, sinister, conspiratorial and willing to act without telling Louise, Gnarl is nonetheless vital to Louise's schemes and operations. He plays basically the same role for her as he does for the canon Overlords.

* AffablyEvil: And unusually verbose in his affability for a minion. Louise suspects he has stolen all of his race's natural intelligence.
* TheDragon: Definitely Louise's second-in-command as well as the day-to-day administrator of life in the tower.
* EvilChancellor: He is Louise's chief advisor, and seems quite determined that he keeps that role. In fact, he calls himself her "Vizier", just to drive the point home.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Though in this case, the standards apparently consist of not selling all your evil artifacts simply to have the funds to to buy expensive clothes, or manufacturing counterfeit currency to the point of destroying the economy of the lands an overlord would conquer via inflation.
* PragmaticVillainy: Speaks against counterfeiting simply because it lowers the over all value of treasure they plunder.

!!Unnamed Vampire
The vampire in the ruined tower and the previous Overlord before Louise put an end to his reign.

* BadBoss: To an even greater extent compared to Louise. The tower fell into disrepair on his reign, due to parts of the tower pawned off to fuel his vanity.
* TheDandy: A fop, and not much else.

!!Louis de la Valliere
Louise's ancestor and quite possibly the progenitor of the Valliere line.

* BastardBastard: His StartOfDarkness is that he was the illegitimate son of a Tristain king, who in the end got a comparatively small dukedom instead of the throne. He's about as villainous as it can be.
* TheChessmaster: To a frightening degree.
* FalseFlagOperation: Hinted at. He'd ride to exterminate undead outbreaks, but always after the outbreak has decimated his rivals.
* SealedEvilInACan: Semi-sealed, since apparently it doesn't stop him from amassing a lesser vampire army. Basicly he rests immobile in his coffin inside his tomb, but can use magic to grow spider legs and move a little, yet ultimately cannot leave the tomb's island due to all the flowing water around it.

!!Emperor Lee
The current ruler of Cathay and possibly the most powerful man in all Halkeginia.

* AnimeHair: Dark and very spiky.
* CatchPhrase: "Objectively suboptimal."
* CrazyPrepared: A desirable trait for him, apparently.
* EvilChancellor: His exploits as this and eventual ascent to the Cathayan throne earns him an award.
* MyHovercraftIsFullOfEels: A minor case. He spoke passable Romalian, and his quirks in that is rendered in-story as English with weird vocabulary.
* PragmaticVillainy: Anything else would be objectively suboptimal.

!!Markgraf Blitzhart von Zerbst
Partriarch of the Zerbst family and Kirche's father.

* DynamicEntry: A favorite of his, if self-defenestration are to be trusted.
* Expy: Of Lord Flashheart from Series/Blackadder.
* InTheBlood: Many of his children takes after him, and it extends to his illegitimate ones.
* KavorkaMan: Maxed out in Bluff and Seduction skills, while his exploits are apparently interesting enough that even Tabitha takes notice and asks him for a few tips.
* LargeHam: Ooo yeah.
* VerbalTic: Rrrrraaawr!

!!Lilly
Head of the Dark Elves, which is actually a sort of a Greenpeace-esque organization.

* DarknessVonGothickname: She changed her name to Lillysuffering Crim'somdoomblood, but regrets it.
* HarmlessVillain: Oh so very much.
* OverlyLongName: She greatly prefers the simple 'Lilly'.
* ShrinkingViolet: Despite the formidable organization name, she is actually quite shy.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: She is mortified to find that children in Tiffania's orphanage can suggest schemes more evil than what her subordinates can muster.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Subverted. Lilly was not exactly sure what would happen when she convinced Tiffania to take the mantle of the Shadow Queen of the Dark Elves but wide scale atrocity and slaughter through the Albionese countryside was not it. It gets to the point where Lilly is a non-functional alcoholic.
