21	The first prince of the Yamato Court. He and Yatsuno met during the time she nursed him back to health, after his battle with his brother, Kousu. It wasn't long before she realized he was a perv and desired her body. Despite knowing this, he eventually succeeded in seducing her and fathered their two children: their son, Yabiko and their daughter, Kodama.

It was a decision that eventually lead to her undoing when she and her husband were murdered by Kousu no Mikoto[[note]]Takeru Yamato's true name[[/note]].

It was Yabiko who slew Yamato 2,000 years prior to the manga's beginning, by using Blood Pointer: a curse which has extended to those of his bloodline. He was also responsible for creating the Ama no Iwata seal and sealed Kodama within it to protect her from their uncle. A decision which lead to her eventual death, as she was unable to escape it.

By that time, Himegami had already died.

78	Takeru's father is the head instructor of the Ooyama Dojo, but Takeru has resented him since the time of Atsuma's death, so he rarely speaks to him. Despite being a bit character, he's had a significant impact, having personally instructed many of the most powerful characters in the series. Including Takeru, Haruko, and Inaho when they were children, as well as Minori, Gen, and Aki back when they were in highschool.

80	* BitCharacter: Takeshi only gets mentioned a few times throughout the series, usually in passing. But he doesn't make an appearance until chapter 73, which is also when we finally learn his name!
81	* ItRunsInTheFamily: He's as perverted as his son, Takeru. They also share the same tastes in women, with both preferring ones with large breasts. He even admits to perving on Aki during his days as a teacher at Tenbi.
82	* TheObiWan: The man's an accredited instructor and has an impressive track record of students. So when anyone wants to TakeALevelInBadass, he's the one they turn to for guidance.
83	* SmallRoleBigImpact: For a guy who only shows up in one chapter, he's [[MinorMajorCharacter a pretty big deal]] because he's personally taught some of the most powerful characters in the series. Kai also sought him out during his summer break. By time he returned, Takeshi had taught him how to use casting ''without a Maken''! Making Kai one of the few people in the world that can do it.

86	Takeshi's deceased wife and Takeru's mother, who was presumed to have been beaten to death during her duel with Tesshin Kushuya. But as Tesshin explained, Atsuma was already dying due to prolonged usage of her Blood Pointer ability. Meaning, Takeru's memory of the event was faulty, since she survived the encounter and died sometime afterward.

88	* ActionMom: She was a Karateka in her lifetime and proficient enough to briefly overwhelm Tesshin, despite being sickly at the time.
89	** MamaBear: When Tesshin tried to take Inaho back by force, Atsuma put her foot down and delivered a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown in response. Even though she lost, Tesshin admitted she was the first person to make him afraid.
90	* CastFromLifespan: Blood Pointer drains a portion of the user's lifeforce each time it's used. Which is what eventually caused Atsuma's death.
