Blythe Baxter is an aspiring fashion artist who along with her father, moved to the Big City apartment above the Littlest Pet Shop, a day-camp for pets. She has a mysterious talent on understanding and talking to animals, usually she talks to them and helps the animals to save the Pet Shop from closing down.
----
* AcronymAndAbbreviationOverload: She often speaks in acronyms (e.g., "NSM" for "Not so much"). Others rarely know what she means.
** In Season 2, Mrs. Twombly starts keeping a notepad full of their meanings.
* AlliterativeName: '''B'''lythe '''B'''axter.
* BoundAndGagged: In "The Nest Hats Craze!"
* CatchPhrase: "What the what / huh / etc.?"
* CompressedVice: In "Secret Cupet", she can barely get a single sentence out when around Josh and it all comes out as a nervous laugh; when in all other episodes, she talks to him just fine.
* TheCutie: Just look at her!
* {{Expy}}: Subverted. She isn't the same Blythe from ''Littlest Pet Shop Presents''.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Phlegmatic: Friendly, laid-back and caring.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: She has a special ability to care for and understand animals, and is ready to help make any pet that visits the [=LPS=] feel like a welcome guest.
* GirlishPigtails: She is a fashion designer who changes her clothes every day, so it's not much of a stretch for her to change her hair to this every now and then.
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler: In "Terriers and Tiaras", she realizes that she acted just like her [[JerkAss competitor]] when the contest got to her.]]
* InnocentBlueEyes: She is the main protagonist and has blue eyes.
* InOneEarOutTheOther: In "What Did You Say?", she uses a towel to clean her ears this way.
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: This becomes evident in Season 4, starting with "The Tortoise And The Heir", in which Speedy Shellberg, a 150-year old tortoise, remarks that she resembles Lauren "Betty" Baxter (nee Smith), Blythe's mother. Confirmed in "Littlest Pet Street (Part 2)", when Roger reveals that he has always known of Blythe's ability to talk to animals, because Betty possessed the same ability.
* MacGyvering: She once built a skateboard out of junk. Before that, a ''hologram projector.'' [[VideoGame/DeadRising2 Chuck Greene]]'s got nothing on her.
* MissingMom: Her mother never shows up.
** She is finally brought up in the first episode of season 4, where it is heavily implied that she has passed away.
* NewTransferStudent: To her school.
* NiceGirl: Sweet, friendly, and loving.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Acts like this, but hides the secret that she speaks to animals.
* PastimesProvePersonality: She designs her own clothes and usually sketches her designs. That feat actually saved the pet shop from closing down.
* PerformanceAnxiety: She is camera shy.
** As of season 2, her camera shyness has lessened. She is still nervous in front of cameras, but much less so than before.
* PowersInTheFirstEpisode: In the series premiere, she hits her head during an accident in the dumbwaiter and receives the ability to talk to animals and understand them.
* PseudoRomanticFriendship: With Youngmee. Of her friends, she is the one with the most heartfelt moments and who she spends the most time with.
* SecretIdentity: Constantly keeps her ability to talk to animals a secret from almost everyone, as she believes she doesn’t want anyone to think she is crazy.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: ''Somehow'', whether it was the dumbwaiter crash or not, she is suddenly able to talk to animals after entering Littlest Pet Shop. [[spoiler:The final season reveals her mom had the same power, meaning she somehow inherited it.]]
* {{Transplant}}: Combined with CanonImmigrant, the first Blythe dolls were made two decades before the first ''Toys/LittlestPetShop'' toys.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: GirlyGirl to Sue's {{Tomboy}}.
* UnlimitedWardrobe: She has a new outfit and hairstyle practically every episode.
* VagueAge: Blythe is in high school and is said to be a minor, but it's not clarified what grade she's in.
* WelcomeToTheBigCity: Moves from a small suburb to the city due to her dad's promotion, and the first people she meets are [[AlphaBitch the Biskit twins.]]
[[/folder]]

!Day Camp Pets
[[folder:General]]

* FourLegsGoodTwoLegsBetter: Vinnie, Russell, and Sunil walk on two legs. Zoe mostly walks on four legs though she sometimes dances on two legs. Pepper is mostly quadrupedal throughout the show, while Penny Ling and Minka will switch between walking on two or four legs.
* PartiallyCivilizedAnimal: All the pets sometimes wear clothes, sometimes stand on two legs, and are sapient. Though sometimes they still have animal-like traits such as Zoe chewing on toys.
* RedOniBlueOni:
** Vinnie's [[TheDitz dumb and goofy red oni]] to Sunil's [[LovableCoward nervous and timid blue oni]].
** Pepper's [[PluckyComicRelief comedic and brash red oni]] to Zoe's [[TheFashionista graceful and fancy blue oni]]. Though this is played with as Pepper is [[DeadpanSnarker the more snarky one]] and Zoe is [[DramaQueen the more dramatic one]].
** From most red to most blue: Minka, Vinnie, Pepper, Zoe, Russell, Penny Ling, and Sunil.
* VagueAge: Due to being semi-anthropomorphic it's hard to tell their age, if their childish tendencies are due to them being young or being animals. The most logical explanation is that the pets are adults but have the minds of 10-year-olds to relate more to the audience.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In "What Meme Worry?" all the pets except Vinnie (due to not having nails) are scared of getting their claws trimmed.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Minka Mark]]
!!!Voiced by: Kira Tozer[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Annituuli Kasurinen (Finnish), Valèrie Lecot (French), Joey Cordevin (German), Lila Moutsopoulou (Greek), May Jacobson (Hebrew), Éva Dögei (Hungarian), Emanuela Pacotto (Italian), Ryu Jeomhui (Korean), Olga Borys (Polish), Clarice Espindola (Brazilian Portuguese), Maria Camões (European Portuguese), Ioana Dagău (Romanian), Elena Čebaturkina (Russian, seasons 1-2), Lina Ivanova (Russian, season 3), Milena Moravčević (Serbian, Minimax version), Jelena Stojiljković (Serbian, Mini version), Yolanda Gispert (European Spanish), Annie Rojas (Latin American Spanish), Sibel Keskin (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:230:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1361136169821_8136.png]]

Minka Mark is a female pink monkey who is a talented painter. Usually high on energy, she is an expert regarding abstract art. But the downside, Minka gets easily distracted by shiny objects, hanging out on the tire swing, or looking for something to eat.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''M'''inka '''M'''ark.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: She is a hyperactive monkey, she can't help it.
* CheerfulChild: May or may not be an actual child, but is very cheery.
* {{Claustrophobia}}: As is first revealed in "Dumb Dumbwaiter", she has issues with enclosed spaces. When trapped in the dumbwaiter in the aforementioned episode, she suffers a panic attack, crying out that she needs space and running around wildly. She depicts herself as a "Space Monkey" due to this.
* CloudCuckooLander: At times.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Sanguine: Fun-loving, creative, yet incredibly hyperactive.
* GenkiGirl: Ridiculously hyper.
* GirlishPigtails: Girly and sports pink pigtails.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: She is pink-furred, giggly, and has a pair of cute pigtails, but her loud and rambunctious nature could hardly be considered ladylike. She’s interested in dinosaurs for their ferocity and strength and the song in the series finale also implies that she likes karate movies.
* HeroicBSOD: In "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E3BadHairDay Bad Hair Day]]", she locks up when her friends pressure her into making praiseworthy art for them. It takes Russell admitting his mistake for her to finally snap out of it. [[spoiler:Although during Russell's speech, it's implied that she was faking it in order to get the others to stop pressuring her and apologize.]]
** Has another in "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E9DUMBDUMBWAITER Dumb Dumbwaiter]]".
--> "I'M A SPACE MONKEY!"
** Yet again in ""[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S2E26TheExpoFactorPart2 The Expo Factor Pt. 2]]" when the pets were trapped inside Blythe's Kiosk.
* HiddenDepths:
** "Go Figure!" shows that she ''can'' stay still to meditate if she is focused.
** In "Paint a Picture, It Lasts Longer", she can also replicate the styles of famous painters. But they are just not her.
* InnocentBlueEyes: Has blue eyes and one of the heroes.
* LiteralMinded: Interprets phrases like "Can we talk?" and "Heard that" literally.
* MotorMouth: Speaks incredibly fast.
* PastimesProvePersonality: She is an abstract painter... which, in her case, typically means splashing and rubbing paint all over a canvas, along with everything else.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Feminine and has pink fur.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: In "Bad Hair Day".
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Energetic girl to Russell's savvy guy. Most apparent in "Bad Hair Day".
* TheTrickster: [[spoiler:Implied in "Bad Hair Day."]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Penny Ling]]
!!!Voiced by: Jocelyn Loewen (speaking), Laura Hastings (singing)[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Saara Aalto (Finnish), Marie Dubled (French), Jennifer Böttcher (German), Ria Apergi (Greek, seasons 1-2), Vasia Lakoumenta (Greek, season 3), Rooney Nadler (Hebrew), Edit Farkasinszky (Hungarian), Loretta Di Pisa (Italian, speaking), Martina De Gasperi (Italian, singing), Kim Saehae (Korean), Dina Padoin (Norwegian), Julia Kołakowska-Bytner (Polish), Agatha Paulita (Brazilian Portuguese), Tânia Ribas de Oliveira (European Portuguese), Ioana Perneş (Romanian), Elena Čebaturkina (Russian, seasons 1-2), Lina Ivanova (Russian, season 3), Milena Moravčević (Serbian, Minimax version), Mina Lazarević (Serbian, Mini version), Maribel Pomar (European Spanish), Angélica Villa (Latin American Spanish), Elif Topuz (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:297:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/penny_ling_5020.png]]

Penny Ling is a female white and purple panda. She usually has a sweet and gentle demeanor, and is the most sensitive of the pets. She also loves to dress up and show off her ribbon dancing.
----
* AttentionWhore: She is not afraid to lie if it means getting attention.
* BadassAdorable: She, with the help of Vinnie, Russell, and Sunil, manages to rescue Blythe and the other pets that were trapped on the dumbwaiter.
* [[BewareTheNiceOnes Beware The Nice]] [[BewareTheQuietOnes and Quiet Ones]]: "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E6MeanIsntYourColor Mean Isn't Your Color]]" shows the usually sweet, soft-spoken little Panda go into [[UnstoppableRage a raging fit]], and the other ''terrified'' pets do not even understand why.
** In "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E9DUMBDUMBWAITER Dumb Dumbwaiter]]", she ''very'' quickly gets fed up with the male pets' macho act and unwillingness to listen to her, and even [[TheDitz Vinnie]] quickly thinks better of crossing the ''angry bear'' determined to rescue her trapped friends no matter what.
* BearyFriendly: A panda with a heart of gold.
* BigEater: She is capable of finishing off an entire fruit tray in mere seconds (as seen in "Bad Hair Day"). Also, in "Dumb Dumbwaiter," the only reason she didn't get trapped in the dumbwaiter was because she stopped to eat popcorn (off the floor) after downing an entire bowl of it.
** Also if you count the fantasies, in the Sweet Shop Song, there is a scene where she takes a massive bite out of the candy table.
** The beginning of the episode "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S3E2WarOfTheWeirds War of the Weirds]]," starts off with the pets coming back from the vet and it's reveled that Penny Ling ate all of the cookies that were meant for everyone.
** During the song in "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S3E13TheSecretRecipe The Secret Recipe]]," Zoe offers Penny Ling some popcorn and she grabs every last one in the bag in just one handful.
* BreakTheCutie: It's ''really'' easy to make her cry since she is so sensitive. Skunk friend Pepper learned about this the hard way in "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E5PennyForYourLaughs Penny for your Laughs]]".
* CuddleBug: She loves hugging everyone she meets.
* DeathGlare: She can pull off a few nightmare-inducing ones whenever she is angry.
* DramaQueen: Her friends have actually gotten use to her crying at the smallest things.
* {{Flanderization}}: Her sensitivity becomes more exaggerated as the series goes on with her having a tendency to cry at the slightest inconvenience. It actually reaches a point where "Seeing Red" shows that her friends are becoming exasperated with her because she gets upset so often.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Phlegmatic: Loving and sweet, yet prone to emotional outbursts.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: She can get a fly to perch on her hand like a Disney princess would a bird.
* FullNameBasis: Rarely is she actually referred to as just "Penny".
* GentleGiant: She is both the biggest and sweetest of the pets.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak:
** She is pretty strong for an adorable and sensitive panda.
** In "Seeing Red", she tries to act rough and tough like Scarletta.
* HartmanHips: Has both the widest hips and the fattest bottom out of the pets. "The Very Littlest Pet Shop" begins with Pepper making fun of how fat Penny's bottom is.
* LargeHam: Quite a bit during "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E12SoYouSkinkYouCanDance So You Skink You Can Dance]]" whenever she panicked.
* MsImagination: Established in Season 2 to have a talent for creating complicated and somewhat meandering stories on a whim, possibly to distinguish her from Sunil.
* NiceGirl: She is extremely hesitant about voicing any negative opinion she may have out of fear of offending others. She is also the only one that didn't find Pepper's insult comedy funny from the get-go.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: At least when food is concerned, it seems. Upon seeing Sugar Sprinkles has sprinkles on her head, she licks her head without even asking if it's okay.
* OcularGushers: A RunningGag.
** She even made a flood with her tears one time.
* InelegantBlubbering: Whenever she cries. The best examples are "Penny For Your Laughs" and "What's So Scary About The Jungle? Everything!"
* PastimesProvePersonality: She is a ribbon dancer.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Can rip a large armchair at least twice her size in half [[BewareTheQuietOnes when she is angry.]]
* ProneToTears: She's prone to OcularGushers at the drop of a hat. She is even criticized for this in "Seeing Red"
* ShoutOut: Her name might be a pun on the [[Music/TheBeatles title to a Beatles song]].[[note]][[DontExplainTheJoke If you still do not get it, it's Penny Lane]][[/note]]
* ShrinkingViolet: Reflected by her mostly purple color-scheme.
* SingingVoiceDissonance: Her speaking voice is high pitched but her singing voice is much deeper and more mature. Justified, as a different actress does her singing.
* SmallNameBigEgo: She thinks that she is the cutest pet in the entire world.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: In the episode "Seeing Red", she plays the girly girl to Scarletta's tomboy.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In later episodes, Penny grows a bit [[SmallNameBigEgo egotistical]] and mean-spirited. It actually gets taken to a point where she straight up lies to her friends to be the center of attention. Though, she still has her softer moments from time to time.

[[folder:Pepper Mildred Clark]]
!!![[https://twitter.com/HubTVNetwork/status/263415663585021952 Voiced by]]: Creator/TabithaStGermain[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Josephine S. Ellefsen (Danish), Christa Jérôme (French), Katharina von Keller (German), Chryssa Diamantopoulou (Greek), Penelope Skalkotou (Greek, singing, season 3), Hadar Shahaf-Ma'ayan (Hebrew), Janka Solecki (Hungarian), Beatrice Caggiula (Italian), Jung Yu-mi (Korean), Cathrine Bang Norum (Norwegian), Lidia Sadowa (Polish), Maíra Paris (Brazilian Portuguese), Ana Vieira (European Portuguese), Anda Tămăşanu (Romanian), Olga Šorohova (Russian), Mariana Aranđelović (Serbian, Minimax version), Nataša Balog (Serbian, Mini version), Carmen Ambrós (European Spanish), Rebeca Gómez (Latin American Spanish), Funda Eskin (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:294:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pepper_clark_2559.png]]

Pepper Clark is a female gray and white striped skunk whose talent is comedy acts. She usually can make everyone laugh but is sometimes brash.
----
* ArtisticLicenseBiology:
** Pepper has digitigrade hind legs. Skunks actually have plantigrade hind legs.
** Her scent is shown to come from her tail, sometimes the very tip of it. Skunk spray actually comes from glands located near the anus. Her smells are also portrayed as a temporary fume and will fade away in a short time, provided something can calm her down if she's in one of her negative moods, compared to real skunk spray which can linger for days if not dealt with.
* DeadpanSnarker: She's skilled in the art of snark, often delivering sarcastic remarks at her friends at a moment's notice whenever they do something stupid or when in an argument.
* DontExplainTheJoke: She awkwardly tries doing just this when Penny Ling doesn't laugh at her "Duck walks into a store" joke.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Choleric: Brash, snarky, and frequently acts as TheLancer to her fellow pets.
* IncrediblyLamePun: A lot of her jokes are basically of this variety.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Mainly in "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E5PennyForYourLaughs Penny For Your Laughs]]." At first, she honestly doesn't realize that her new insult comedy routine can be genuinely hurtful, regardless of the insult being "just a joke." Until she inadvertently [[BreakTheCutie makes Penny Ling cry]], [[HeelRealization that is]].
* InOneEarOutTheOther: In "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S3E11IfTheShoeFits If The Shoe Fits]]" she stuffs her tail in one ear, which comes out the other, to muffle Blythe and Youngmee's eardrum shattering [[{{Squee}} Squees]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She is not shy about poking fun at others, but she'll always help those in need.
* JokeExhaustion: A flashback in "Penny For Your Laughs" shows her running the gag of splattering others with pistachio pudding into the ground.
* PastimesProvePersonality: She is a comedian.
* PluckyComicRelief: A comedian, so it is to be expected.
* PungeonMaster: Her jokes are loaded with puns.
* PrehensileTail: She can use her tail to grab things with or balance things on the tip.
* SeriousBusiness: In "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S2E16SweetPepper Sweet Pepper]]", she rejects the suggestion to laugh at everything Captain Cuddles says. As a comedian, she won't laugh at something if she doesn't think it's funny.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Her friends give her a makeover in "Sweet Pepper." The results surprise her.
-->"Here Zoe, you handed me a picture of a pretty skunk instead of a mirror."
* SmellySkunk: Zigzagged, as it depends on her mood. Her musk becomes a foul smell when she is anxious or upset ("burnt rubber" scent or "moldy taco", for example), and a pleasant one if she is happy (vanilla or lemon). Her control and even fragrances vary. She can also get into a defensive position if need be, though not by turning around like a real skunk.
** In the short "Eau de Pepper", she and Penny Ling work together to find a ''very specific'' fragrance for an incoming pet show. All of them are pleasant. Her happiest, as described by Penny Ling: is a "peppermint rosy cupcake".
* SoUnfunnyItsFunny: Frankly, a lot of the actual humor of her stand-up comes, more often than not, from how lame her jokes are and how enthusiastically she tells them.
* {{Tomboy}}: It's most apparent in "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S1E9DUMBDUMBWAITER Dumb Dumbwaiter]]". During the girls' beauty treatments, she eats the eye cucumbers, has no idea how to use powder, and uses a nail file to scratch her back. She even says "This girl stuff is fun!"
** TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tomboy to Zoe's Girly Girl, and in "Sue Syndrome", Mitzi's Girly Girl.
** TomboyishVoice: She has a slightly deeper voice than Zoe, Minka, and Penny Ling, who all have feminine voices.
** TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She enjoys having girl time with the other LPS ladies, is willing to act more girly to impress a crush, and dons many feminine outfits and personas without objection during fantasy sequences and in real life.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Russell Ferguson]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/SamuelVincent[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Daniel Vognstrup Jørgensen (Danish), Alessandro Bevilacqua (French), Oliver Böttcher (German), Fivos Rimenas (Greek), Michael Einav (Hebrew, seasons 1-2), Gilan Shahaf (Hebrew, seasons 3-4), Dániel Hamvas (Hungarian), Davide Garbolino (Italian), Sin Yongwoo (Korean), Bartłomiej Magdziarz (Polish), Marcus Pejon (Brazilian Portuguese), Sérgio Calvinho (European Portuguese), Denis Nekrasov (Russian), Marko Marković (Serbian, Minimax version), Bojan Lazarov (Serbian, Mini version), Jaume Aguiló (European Spanish), Arturo Castañeda (Latin American Spanish), Sait Çataldaş (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:245:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/russell_2945.png]]

Russell Ferguson is a male orange hedgehog and the organizer of the group. He is the one to keep everyone in the Littlest Pet Shop on track, making sure the others won't wreck it in the process. Is occasionally mistaken for a porcupine.
----
* BerserkButton: His hatred of being called a porcupine is averted in the early seasons. However, in later ones, he reacts violently if one calls him a porcupine.
* BigOlEyebrows: His eyebrows are bigger than the other pet shop regulars.
* BreakTheCutie: Almost starts crying in "The Hedgehog in the Plastic Bubble."
* ButtMonkey: Put through a lot of trauma and slapstick.
* CarpetOfVirility: [[spoiler: "[[SplitPersonality Fun Russell]]" opens his shirt in a musical number to reveal this.]] Thankfully it doesn't show up again.
* CassandraTruth: Often the first to notice suspicious behavior, but when he does, other pets [[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S3E16BackWindow do not seem]] [[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S3E24InTheLoop to believe]] [[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S4E5LittlestPetShopOfHorrors him]] until it's too late (or never believe him at all).
* CharacterDevelopment: When Russell is forced into being Blythe's model, he is scared to death, but with Zoe's help, he gets over it and even starts to like it.
** In "In The Loop" in order to keep his sanity, he [[spoiler: learns and enjoys dancing, singing, and stand up comedy, in turn becoming closer to his friends than he ever felt before and less of a paranoid perfectionist, though [[GroundhogDayLoop only he remembers it]] ]]. Whether his newfound skills will be [[StatusQuoIsGod retconned]] is unknown.
* CuteLittleFang: Has one fang sticking out his mouth.
* DeadpanSnarker: He knows how to deliver a snide quip or two when he feels like it, but he's not as proficient as Pepper or Zoe.
* DitzyGenius: While he is usually the smartest of the pets, he does have moments of ditziness. One example is in the cold open of "Plane it on Rio!" where he interprets Blythe's facial expressions while she's on a call, and when she gets angry, he interprets it as talking to someone annoying even though she's clearly shooing the pets away.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He can't stand marshmallows; in fact, according to Pepper, he has an outright phobia of them.
* {{Expy}}: He is basically [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Double D]] if he was a talking hedgehog.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Melancholic: Smart and analytical, yet uptight and neurotic.
* IAmNotWeasel: From his [[http://www.hubworld.com/littlest-pet-shop/shows/littlest-pet-shop-show/cast-gallery/russell-ferguson cast gallery profile]]: "Russell's a hedgehog, and though he is often mistaken for a porcupine, he is happy to point out the difference." In "Blythe's Big Adventure Part One" this happens when Blythe meets him, and he comments that everyone makes that mistake.
** Though averted in "Feud For Thought" in which he becomes outright offended when Whiskers calls him a Porcupine.
** And in another episode, Blythe states he hates being called a porcupine.
* NeatFreak: Obsessed with cleanliness.
* ObsessivelyOrganized: He wants everything to be orderly no matter the cost.
* PastimesProvePersonality: His schtick is organizing.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Manages to hold the weight of human girl twins without much visible exertion.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Savvy guy to Minka's energetic girl. Most apparent in "Bad Hair Day".
* ScheduleFanatic: And how!
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: He can be either Vinnie's manly man or Sunil's sensitive guy DependingOnTheWriter.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: Downplayed, as he is the smartest of the pets (most of the time), but is only slightly larger than Vinnie, who is the smallest and dumbest of the pets (also most of the time in the latter sense).
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His surname is spelled "Ferguson" in the [[http://www.hasbro.com/littlestpetshop/en_US/shop/details.cfm?R=917CDCC5-5056-900B-10B4-94BF265EF4FD:en_US Collector's Pack]] toy set and his [[http://www.hubworld.com/littlest-pet-shop/shows/littlest-pet-shop-show/cast-gallery/russell-ferguson cast gallery profile]], but is spelled "Fergusun" in a [[http://www.hubworld.com/hubworld/specials/littlest-pet-shop-downloadables/assets/printables/playdate-word-find.pdf Word Find]].
* SplitPersonality: [[spoiler: In "Russell Up Some Fun" he becomes "[[FunPersonified Fun]] [[TheHedonist Russell]]".]]
** Subverted in [[spoiler: In The Loop, as Russell manages to perfectly balance his fun side with his neat freak side. But even that is implied to have been retconned with the arrival of an incredibly reckless and unsafe parakeet named Crash [=DangerFeather=]]]
* StraightMan / [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Pet]]: Actually played with a bit. When compared to the eccentricities of the other pets, he seems to be the only one who can ground everyone when the time calls for it. But then there are times when he shows the true extent of his [[ScheduleFanatic need for organization]], and it turns out to just be his ''own'' personal quirk. Besides, he's not as sane as Blythe.
* TeamDad: Russell is the grounded, responsible member of the team, and looks out for his fellow pets. This becomes especially apparent in episodes like "Bad Hair Day", where he tells Minka he'll look out for her, and "Penny For Your Laughs", in which he defends Penny from Pepper's insults.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Sometimes with Vinnie.
* VocalEvolution: His voice in the earlier episodes was slightly more mature and calmer. As the series goes on, his voice gets higher and more whiny. Compare [[https://youtu.be/2A5qsoa57tU?t=1040 Bad Hair Day]] in season 1 and [[https://youtu.be/aSI_RFgI-d0?t=993 Senior Day]] in season 4.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: When [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere Zoe quits the pet pageant show because Blythe starts behaving tyrannical]], Blythe has to find a quick substitute, and picks Russell. [[note]]This is rather clever considering that there are no hedgehogs in the US, leading to the pageant judges believing him to be a "new and strange European breed".[[/note]]Which leads to Russell being stuffed into a blue, frilly dress, complete with make-up and a hat. [[spoiler: He wins.]]

[[folder:Sunil Nevla]]
!!!Voiced by: Peter New[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Alexis Flamant (French), Patrick Bach (German), Petros Damoulis (Greek), Allon Sher (Hebrew), Miklós Kapácsy (Hungarian), Claudio Moneta (Italian), Hyeong Yeongsu (Korean), Paweł Ciołkosz (Polish), Élcio Sodré (Brazilian Portuguese), Michel Simeão (European Portuguese), Rin Tripa (Romanian), Yevgeniy Valts (Russian, seasons 1–2), Vasiliy Zotov (Russian, season 3), Marko Đuričić (Serbian, Minimax version), Marko Marković (Serbian, Mini version), Dani Albiac (European Spanish), Ernesto Lezama (Latin American Spanish), Umut Aksoy (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:292:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sunil_1850.png]]

Sunil Nevla is a male blue mongoose and wannabe stage magician. Very timid and insecure in demeanor, he enjoys performing magic, but his tricks rarely work the way he wants.
----
* AshFace: Often happens when his magic tricks literally blow up in his face.
* BadassAdorable: [[spoiler:When he saves the day in "Gailbreak!"]]
* BerserkButton: '''[[UnstoppableRage Cobras]]'''.
** CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: When presented with them -- or even ''imagining'' he is presented with them -- he undergoes a complete 180 from cowardly, neurotic bumbler to fearless, unstoppable action hero.
* BollywoodNerd: Has shades of this.
* ButtMonkey: He has it a lot better than Russell, though.
* CowardlyLion: Or maybe a "Cowardly Mongoose". He spends most of his time cowering in fear. However, when the chips are down and he is the only one left, he will find a way to pull through and save the day on his own.
* DeadpanSnarker: He can be pretty snarky when the situation calls for it.
* TheEeyore: Has the tendency to be this.
* EpicFail: Sunil's attempts to fling paint at a canvas result on the entire day camp room being covered in paint while the canvas remains blank.
* ForgottenPhlebotinum: He hasn't used his hypnosis ability since "Gailbreak!".
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Melancholic: Suffers from anxiety and low self-esteem.
* FunnyForeigner: He is the only focal pet with a pronounced, non-American accent. Specifically, Indian.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Vinnie, especially since the second season.
* HypnoticEyes: Can hypnotize others.
* InterspeciesRomance: Had a crush on Delilah, a cat, at least until she revealed her {{Jerkass}} side.
* LovableCoward: He fears many things.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: His psychic abilities. It's left unclear whether he is just in the right place at the right time or truly has powers.
** His tricks as well. Physically teleporting himself with Shahrukh at the end of "Lights Camera Mongoose" seems beyond David Copperfield level of skill, or even logic itself.
** Sunil's magic tends to overlap with MagiciansAreWizards.
* MeaningfulName: "Sunil Nevla" is Hindi for "Dark Blue [[SpeciesSurname Mongoose]]."
* MemeticMutation: He becomes one InUniverse in "What, Meme Worry?"
* NiceGuy: Probably the nicest of the main pets besides Penny Ling.
* PastimesProvePersonality: He is into magic tricks.
* PerformanceAnxiety: He can't do his magic tricks if he is being watched.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: As provided by Peter New. He can scream in such a high pitch only dogs can hear him.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: He's an etiquette speaker and often uses long words in his speech that his friends probably get perplexed by.
* {{Seers}}: He is able to locate things and people by visions but despite their accuracy they are easily misunderstood.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The sensitive guy to Vinnie's manly man.
* ShrinkingViolet: He's not very confident, to say the least.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Gender inverted. He lost interest in Delilah after what she did to Zoe.
* StageMagician: He enjoys his magic tricks.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Since he is the magician of the bunch, and seems to have control over some [[HypnoticEyes actual magic]], it makes sense for him to have these.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In 'Guilt Tripping', he intentionally makes Pepper feel nervous about the upcoming punishment that Vinnie is deciding on.
* WholesomeCrossdresser:
** Dresses up as a nurse in "What Did You Say?".
** In one of Zoe's fantasies in "Frenemies", he is wearing a fancy dress and a tiara.
-->'''Sunil''': "... [[ComicallyMissingThePoint I look terrible in lilac]]."
** In "A Night at the Pawza", he wears a tennis outfit, but chooses a female version with a skirt, instead of shorts.
** In "Petnapped!", he willingly chooses to play the role of a duchess, and seems to enjoy wearing the dress.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Blythe pulls this on him at the end of "Blythe's Crush".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Vincent Alfonso "Vinnie" Terrio]]
!!!Voiced by: Kyle Rideout[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Pablo Herstens (French), Tim Kreuer (German), Fivos Rimenas (Greek), Petros Damoulis (singing, season 1), Dan Kiesler (Hebrew), Adrián Király (Hungarian), Paolo De Santis (Italian), Gang Hocheol (Korean), Zbigniew Kozłowski (Polish), Glauco Marques (Brazilian Portuguese), Sérgio Calvinho (European Portuguese), Yevgeniy Valts (Russian, seasons 1-2) Vasiliy Zotov (Russian, season 3), Marko Đuričić (Serbian, Minimax version), Marko Marković (Serbian, Mini version), Marc Zanni (European Spanish), Igor Cruz (Latin American Spanish), Ahmet Taşar (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:236:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vinni_9937.png]]

Vinnie Terrio is a male green gecko who is gifted in dancing. His dancing skills are top-notch, but sometimes causes a lot of mess to the other pets in the shop.
----
* AchillesHeel: His [[DependingOnTheWriter dancing skills vary]] from "being very good" to "tripping all over the place". When it's the latter, it's usually his tail that he trips on when it gets in the way. Ironically, in "Frenemies", he loses his tail and he believes that it's something that helps him with his dancing, but then he is shown to be a much better dancer without it, up until his tail grows out again and he starts tripping again.
* AmbiguouslyGay: He is the most flamboyant of the main male pets and has frequent [[HoYay/LittlestPetShop2012 Ho Yay]] moments with other male pets, especially Sunil. He has also shown no attraction to female pets so far. In "[[Recap/LittlestPetShop2012S2E8TheBigFeatheredParade The Big, Feathered Parade]]" he even had a canon crush on another male pet.
** AmbiguouslyBi: However, in "Pump Up the Panda", he sang about wanting female lizards to swoon over him in his Speedo.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology:
** Hair and ears. Two things which are rather significantly absent from real life geckos.
** He blinks just like any other character despite a vast majority of real-life geckos not having eyelids. He even has a staring contest with Sunil in the ColdOpen of "Senior Day", even though geckos keep their eyes moist by licking them.
* BerserkButton: In "To Paris with Zoe" he becomes obsessed with "The Insect Channel" and anyone dare try to change it, he flips out.
** If he misses Shake-A-Leg, or something happens that might cause him to miss it, such as someone losing the remote.
** If Sunil has a sick day he trashes the entire day camp.
* TheDitz: He has shown little to no signs of lesser intelligence than the other pets in the earlier episodes (despite being considered otherwise), but over the course of the series, [[TookALevelInDumbass he gradually becomes dumber]].
** Some episodes have him as a {{Malaproper}}, such as when he says "impale" when he means "regale".
** He is shown to be very simple-minded at times, including asking if one of the other pets could rephrase something "using smaller words", not knowing that "concur" means "agree", and even resorting to phrases like "What he said."
* DoNotCallMePaul: Vinnie would rather not be called by his real name "Vincent", but Sunil once did so.
* EyeScream: Has a tendency to do some pretty strange things with his eyes…
* {{Fanboy}}: A huge one for [[ShowWithinAShow "Shake-A-Leg"]]
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Sanguine: Enthusiastic and confident, but tends to be ditzy.
* {{Gasshole}}: Vinnie can often release massive belches on cue, as shown in "Dumb Dumbwaiter".
* HeroicBSOD: Becomes depressed in "So You Skink You Can Dance," when he is told he has no dance ability. He gets better.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Sunil, especially since the second season.
* IveHeardOfThatWhatIsIt: Many of the jokes centering around him.
* LargeHam: Whenever he shows off at dancing.
* LovableLizard: He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but that only just adds to his cute goofiness.
* TheKlutz: Vinnie likes to dance, but he usually trips when doing so.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: His name sounds like [[http://thedeneyterriodanceparty.com/about.html Deney Terrio]], they guy who choreographed ''Film/SaturdayNightFever'' and invented the StayingAliveDancePose.
* NonMammalianHair: Sports a pretty rockin' pompadour.
** His chest also has a few stylistic swirls that may or may not indicate actual ''chest hair''.
* PastimesProvePersonality: He is a good dancer, but kind of a klutz.
* RealMenWearPink: In "Mean Isn't Your Color", he claimed [[WholesomeCrossdresser he would totally wear a cutesy, pink dress]].
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The manly man to Sunil's sensitive guy.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: Inverted. He is both the smallest and the dumbest of the pets.
* SimpletonVoice: Though it sometimes leaves when he is scared, excited, or upset.
* TechnicolorEyes: His eye color is purple.
* TokenMinority: "Token Reptilian", if you will. Vinnie is the only non-mammalian main character.
* {{Tsundere}}: Depending on the writer. [[HiddenHeartOfGold He treats the girls rudely in "Dumb Dumbwaiter" because he doesn't want to admit he misses them and that it's fun to be with them.]] He claims not be a fan of Shahrukh's movies, but is fanboying over him the most when he actually gets to meet him.
* UnstoppableRage: [[BerserkButton Whenever somebody loses the remote during "Shake-A-Leg".]]
** Also freaks out if Sunil doesn't come to day camp.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Russell.
* WholesomeCrossdresser
** In "Mean Isn't Your Color", Vinnie mentions he'd totally wear Penny's dress.
** In "What Did You Say?", a CreepyChild kidnaps Vinnie, puts him in a pretty pink doll dress, and names him [[AndCallHimGeorge "Princess Precious"]]. While he obviously doesn't like the [[CreepyChild girl]], he seems to enjoy wearing the dress and [[spoiler: even demands being called "Princess Precious" by the other pets in the end.]]
* YourSizeMayVary: He's normally the same size as the other pets, but when kidnapped by Alice, he shrinks to the size of a realistic gecko when she keeps in him a fishbowl.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zoe Trent]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/NicoleOliver (speaking), Kylee Epp (singing)[[labelnote:'''Other voice actors''']] Nathalie Stas (French), Stephanie Kirchberger (German), Lila Moutsopoulou (Greek), Shirly Lilu (Hebrew), Timea Sági (Hungarian), Alessandra Karpoff (Italian), Lee Yong-shin (Korean), Anette Lauenborg Waaler (Norwegian), Karolina Muszalak-Buława (Polish), Denise Reis (Brazilian Portuguese, speaking), Monica Toniolo (Brazilian Portuguese, singing), Sandra de Castro (European Portuguese), Gabriela Codrea (Romanian), Olga Golovanova (Russian), Jelena Jovičić (Serbian, Minimax version), Snežana Nešković (Serbian, Mini version), Mariona Bosch (European Spanish), Diana Alonso (Latin American Spanish), Suzan Acun (Turkish) [[/labelnote]]
[[quoteright:297:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zoe_5014.png]]

Zoe Trent is a female purple Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is gifted at singing. A born diva, Zoe likes to be fabulous and to sing, wanting to achieve her goal as the best singer. She is one of the first animals to interact with Blythe.
----
* AttentionWhore: She loves being the center of attention and being in the spotlight.
* BalloonBelly: In "Squeaker in the Main Role", she swallows her squeaky toy by mistake after bumping into a hydrant, only noticing where it went when she saw her stomach expand as a result. This directly results in...
** {{iSophagus}}: After eating her squeaky toy, her distended belly made squeaking sounds every time she poked it.
* BerserkButton: [[spoiler: Do not mention Zoe losing at a modeling contest. She doesn't take it too kindly.]] Nor should you call her singing "horrible" like Dr. Handsomeface did.
* BrokenPedestal: She used to look up to Delilah and her band, but they coldly reject her because she is a dog and steal her song for a performance.
* CoolBigSis: To Gail.
* DeadpanSnarker: Zoe can certainly deliver her share of sarcastic quips when necessary.
* DogsAreDumb: Downplayed. While not as dumb as Vinnie, she has her moments in Season 1, like mistaking a male dog for her sister (which, according to said sister, has happened ''several'' times before) and needing help finding a hat that's ''[[IdiotBall on her head]]''. She is also admitted to sometimes ''forgetting she is a dog''. She still has signs of this in later episodes, like [[LiteralMinded interpreting Blythe's "don't be seen at the party" as "come in disguise"]] and being too infatuated with [[BrainlessBeauty the vet's dog]] to know that he's not a doctor.
* DramaQueen: Can be this at times.
* EarsAsHair: Her ears are the same color as her hair, and she sometimes treats them like part of her hair.
* TheFashionista: Zoe is very much into fashion and looking fabulous.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Choleric: Confident and ambitious, but tends to be arrogant and egotistical.
* FurryReminder: In "The Hedgehog in the Plastic Bubble", she mentions that since she is a dog, she doesn't see the color red very well.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: While no doubt the most feminine of the cast, she has a few moments of toughness, like being able to stand up to Wiggles when no one else would, not even the boys.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Has purple fur and is quite graceful.
* GreenEyedMonster: In "What, Meme Worry?" she is jealous of Sunil when he becomes famous (which is her lifelong dream) -- and doesn't even appreciate it! [[spoiler:She gets over it after she becomes famous too.]]
* HiddenDepths: "Littlest Bigfoot" reveals that she has a great passion (and knack) for camping.
* IcyBlueEyes: Has blue eyes.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Sure she can be vain and bossy at times, but she's not afraid to stand up for her friends when someone hurts or insults them.
* KindnessButton: Whenever she grows hostile, Blythe [[FriendlyTickleTorture rubs Zoe's belly to calm her down.]]
* LargeHam: Loves making a big show.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She thinks very highly of herself, but she does treat others with nothing but respect.
* PastimesProvePersonality: She is a singer.
* PuppyDogEyes: A master of using this as her nuclear option to get her way, naturally.
* ShipperOnDeck: For Josh and Blythe. She goes with Blythe when she returns his keys.
** Possibly one for Minka and Russell; Her party fantasy in "Frenemies" depicts them sharing a slow dance.
* TeamMom: On occasion, she refers to the other pets by maternal-like titles such as "hon" and "sweetie".
** MamaBear: In "Alligators and Handbags", she viciously berates Wiggles [=McSunbask=] after he makes Penny Ling cry.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Girly Girl to Pepper's Tomboy.
