!!Tropes that apply to Sector V
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sector_v.png]]
The main characters of the show, they are a division of a worldwide organization known as the [[WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor Kids Next Door]]. They are considered to be one of the best teams in the KND.
----
* ArchEnemy: The team as a whole, especially Numbuh 1, are the main enemies to Father and the Delightful Children from Down the Lane. The individual members also have their own personal foes.
** Numbuh 1 to Chad Dickson/Numbuh 274.
** Numbuh 2 to Mr. Fizz and Mushi Sanban.
** Numbuh 3 to King Sandy and Mr. Boss.
** Numbuh 4 to the Toiletnator.
** Numbuh 5 to Cree, Stickybeard, and Heinrich von Marzipan.
* BadassAdorable: [[GenkiGirl Numbuh 3]] is the best at being cute and awesome at the same time. That's not to say the other kids don't have their moments too, of course.
* BadassCrew: A motley crew of military-trained 10-year-old kids who fight adult tyranny with advanced gadgets made from scrap. Numbuh 362 has referred to them as the best sector in the organization. The SeriesFinale "I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." implies that [[spoiler:none of them were decommissioned.]]
* BadassNormal: By comparison with most of the villains anyway, as they rely mainly on BambooTechnology and their military training in combat.
* BambooTechnology: They refer to it as "2x4 Technology" and it's what most of their equipment is made of.
* BigThinShortTrio: The male operatives--Hoagie, Nigel, and Wally, are respectively obese, skinny, and short.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Numbuh 1 used to be an uptight KnowNothingKnowItAll that thought he knew best but often did the worst, Numbuh 2 was far more gluttonous and prone to [[DidntThinkThisThrough poorly devised technology]] that either didn't work or blew up in his face, Numbuh 3 was originally bordering on TheLoad when she wasn't managing to pull a fast one in ADayInTheLimelight, Numbuh 4 wasn't exactly smart but wasn't the full-time IdiotHero he'd become as ''all'' of the team was kind of dumb, and Numbuh 5 was a passive DeadpanSnarker and TheQuietOne without any leadership or OnlySaneMan traits. By the end of the first season they were already shifting into their more known characterizations, and by the end of the series all of them come into their own ''massively''. Just compare the bumbling FailureHero nature of their exploits at the beginning of the series to being ''the'' BadassCrew of the entire Kids Next Door by the finale.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: They're all exaggerated stereotypes of children in that they rival against the teenage and adult population, hate vegetables, like soda pop, and are rather innocent.
* ColourCodedCharacters:
** Numbuh One[=/=]Nigel - Red
** Numbuh Two[=/=]Hoagie - Teal
** Numbuh Three[=/=]Kuki - Green
** Numbuh Four[=/=]Wally - Orange
** Numbuh Five[=/=]Abby - Blue or Purple
** HonoraryTrueCompanion: Numbuh 49 [=/=] Lizzie - Yellow
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: When the series started with its pilot episode, Sector V ''were'' the Kids Next Door, and really just a bunch of kids with 2x4 technology that had a bad habit of biting off way more than they could chew and [[FailureHero messing up royally]]. Not long into the first season, they started a gradual competency boost to BadassCrew, and it was slowly established that they were formally Sector V of a much larger organization that would grow with the series progression.
* EveryoneHasStandards: They're as pro-kid and anti-adult as the rest of the organization but there are lines they will ''not'' cross. Numbuh Four gets called out on taking part in the Bully Fights, where innocent adults are force-fed large amounts of caffeine before getting beaten up in a bullfighting ring. They also oppose KnightTemplar levels of behavior from other operatives. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, Numbuh One may not have these standards anymore, as of the G:KND teaser.]]
* FiveManBand: As the series progresses, they fully set in on their respective roles. Nigel is TheLeader, the most competent and dedicated member to the KND cause. Abby is TheLancer, always being the first one to either support Nigel or to call him out when he messes up, and temporary leader whenever Numbuh One is not around. Kuki is TheHeart, the most sensible and gentle member, and the first one to point out when someone on the team is being too cruel or a hardass. Wally is TheBigGuy, the most physically inclined and always ready to throw hands when trouble arises (ironically, he's the shortest one), while Hoagie is the SmartGuy, building multiple gadgets, vehicles and weapons for the team and ready to formulate a plan when the need arises.
* FiveTokenBand: The team consists of a British boy, an American boy, a Japanese girl, an Australian boy, and a [[TwoferTokenMinority French/African-American]] girl.
* FreeRangeChildren: They often sleep in their treehouse headquarters and go all over the world and even to their organization's headquarters on the Moon. However, they still technically live with their parents, and later episodes occasionally show them hanging out in their own homes with their families a little bit more, and it even shows them going to school. In Nigel’s case, the treehouse is located ''exactly'' on his house, so it doesn’t make any difference for him.
* GenderEqualEnsemble: [[spoiler:They become this after Nigel leaves for the GKND in the GrandFinale.]]
* HiddenEyes: In their default appearances, 4 of them have their eyes covered. Numbuh 3 just has her eyes closed all the time. However, all of them except Numbuh 2 start to avert this more frequently as the series goes on.
* KidHero: Five ten-year-old kids who are part of a team fighting evil adults and teenagers.
* MeaningfulName: Their real names have some connection to their designated numbers.
* MultinationalTeam: Numbuh 1 is British, Numbuh 2 is American, Numbuh 3 is Japanese, Numbuh 4 is Australian, and Numbuh 5 is of Afro-French parentage.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 3 (Nice), Numbuh 4 (Mean) and Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 5 (In-between).
* NumericalThemeNaming: All of their last names relate to their "Numbuhs" in some way. Uno means one in Spanish. Hoagie is Junior because he's the second male in his family named Hogarth P. The first syllable of Sanban is how you say three in Japanese. The surname Beatles alludes to the eponymous four-man [[Music/TheBeatles music band]]. Finally, Lincoln is a US president who appears in the five-dollar bill.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Three of the members of Sector V, all go by their nicknames when someone calls them by their [[FirstNameBasis first name]] (Numbuh 2’s name is Hogarth, but goes by the name “Hoagie”, Wallabee is called “Wally”, and for Abigail, it’s “Abby”).
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Numbuh 2 is a light-hearted jokester (sensitive), Numbuh 4 is an all brawn, violence loving fighter (manly), and Numbuh 1 is a serious, but uptight leader (sensitive to Numbuh 4 and manly to Numbuh 2).
* StrongFamilyResemblance: All of the operatives bear striking resemblances to one or both of their parents; Numbuh 1 mostly to his dad, Numbuh 2 to his mom (and Tommy looks like a younger version of him), Numbuh 3 to her mom (and Mushi looks like a younger version of herself), Numbuh 4 to both but mostly his dad (and Joey looks like a baby version of him), and Numbuh 5 presumably resembles both of her parents as she is the only one where neither of her parents show their face and bears some resemblance to Cree.
* TeenHater: All of the KND ''despise'' teenagers as a result of the show exaggerating the stereotype of [[ChildrenAreInnocent kids being kids]]. This was best shown in "Operation P.O.I.N.T.", where the group is shown eavesdropping on teens outside of "The Point" and plotting revenge against them, a MakeOutPoint where teenagers are described to make the transition into full-grown adults upon admission. Their hatred is so exaggerated to the point where any member of the organization is kicked out once they reach their 13th birthday, regardless of their dedication to the group.
* TemporarilyAVillain:
** Everyone except Numbuh 5 were transformed into Spank-Happy Vampires by Count Spankulot in "Operation: L.O.C.K.D.O.W.N.". A similar case happens in the LicensedGame ''VideoGame/OperationVIDEOGAME'', just with everyone except Numbuh 4.
** Also, in ''WesternAnimation/OperationZERO'', all of them except Numbuh One are turned into Senior Citizombies until Numbuh One is able to find a partial cure. (After doing so, and putting their plan into motion, Numbuh Two kicks him, and then says, "Sorry, the lower half of my body is still evil.")
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Numbuh 5, the [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]] and tough second-in-command, and Numbuh 3, the somewhat [[TheDitz ditzy]], [[GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals Rainbow Monkey-loving]] GenkiGirl, are this respectively, but this is PlayedWith in that Kuki normally dresses less femininely than Abby, as she usually wears a sweater and sneakers while Abby usually goes around in a minidress, white Mary Janes, and earrings.
* TrueCompanions: All five members share a close bond with each other and always have their backs.
* TeenSuperspy: Although, they are all tweens.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 are the only two female members of the group.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Their large treehouse conspicuously grew right through Nigel’s house, and his parents don’t seem to question it.
* VillainProtagonist: In the early episodes, their main goals came off as selfish. Later on, they are more heroic and are clearly shown to only target evil adults who are clearly intent on causing harm or misery to children.
* WackyParentSeriousChild:
** Played straight with Wally, Abby, and their respective parents. Inverted with Kuki and Hoagie's respective parents, though the inversion is actually downplayed in Hoagie's case, as his mother is less so wacky than just a little high-strung.
** Subverted with Nigel's parents. When we first are introduced to them, they both are quite comical and unaware of the events around them, as well as being quite ignorant of what Nigel wants/likes. However, it's revealed in both "Operation Z.E.R.O" and "Operation I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S" that [[spoiler: both of them are actually decommissioned KND agents, with Nigel's father being the legendary Numbuh Zero, and his mother being Numbuh 999, the first female KND agent of the modern organization]]. Nigel's father in particular is much more serious and to-the-point as [[spoiler:Numbuh Zero]] than he is as Monty Uno.

TheLeader of Sector V, an overworking agent who loves every minute of his job. [[MeaningfulName He is widely considered one of the best of the best.]] However, his paranoia and stubbornness have gotten in the way of doing his job effectively at times.
----
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Tries too hard to not act his age, but it seeps through at times. Notably, he has no idea where babies come from.
* AffectionateNickname: Is called "Nigie" by Lizzie.
* AgentMulder: He makes the real Fox Mulder look positively skeptical in comparison. Even the most innocuous thing arouses his suspicions and he sees a massive conspiracy in every shadow. To his credit, [[ProperlyParanoid he's usually right]], at least to some extent.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited:
** [[spoiler:While never directly stated or confirmed, it is heavily implied in "Operation W.H.I.T.E H.O.U.S.E." that he has a crush on Numbuh 3 as well.]]
---> [[spoiler:'''Adult!Numbuh 5''']]: [[spoiler:Who had a crush on Numbuh Three?! And don't say Numbuh Four!]]
** There's also the unresolved ShipTease between him and Numbuh 362. While Rachel's feelings for him became fairly obvious after Operation: G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D., whether or not Nigel returns her affections is unclear. He does, however, value her as a close friend, probably the closest one he has outside of Sector V.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: [[spoiler:He's a blood relative (nephew and grandson respectively) of Father and Grandfather, the resident {{Humanoid Abomination}}s among the [=KND=]'s RoguesGallery.]]
* ArchEnemy:
** Has three: the Delightful Children from Down the Lane [[spoiler:(his adopted cousins)]], Chad Dickson (a.k.a. Numbuh 274, the former Soopreme leader of the KND and Numbuh One's former mentor), and Father [[spoiler:(his EvilUncle).]]
** Ironically, despite appearing the least of the three, there is a strong argument that Chad Dickson is the one Nigel hates ''most''. They had a close friendship that ultimately turned to sour with Chad's betrayal, and whenever they appeared together Nigel doesn't even bother trying to coexist with him no matter the circumstances (compare that to the Delightful Children, who Nigel goes to school with, and even Father, who he's had an EnemyMine with at least twice). Chad is also the only one of the three that Nigel wanted to ''kill'', to the point of actually trying to do the deed in "Operation: T.R.E.A.T.Y." and nearly succeeding. [[spoiler:The most ironic thing about all this is that Chad was never actually a villain, being a FakeDefector and double agent for the KND. Of course, that didn't stop him from returning Nigel's animosity nor does their friendship become salvaged.]]
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: The leader of Sector V and by far the most competent operative.
* BadassFamily:
** His Dad is [[spoiler:Numbuh 0, the ''first ever'' KND operative (of the 7th Age of the KND), Grandfather, who has twice conquered the world and also twice been defeated by his family, is his grandfather and Father, widely considered the biggest threat to all of KND, both normal and galactic, is his uncle.]]
** The final episode revealed that [[spoiler:his mother is also a Badass, being the first female operative of the 7th Age of the KND, Numbuh 999]]
* BaldOfAuthority: Numbuh One is a completely bald child and the leader of Sector V. He is the most level-headed of the group (apart from his ProperlyParanoid and ConspiracyTheorist ways) and [[{{Determinator}} has a will of titanium]] when it comes to taking on the grown-ups. His baldness was [[JustifiedTrope actually caused]] by the group's arch rivals, the Delightful Children from Down the Lane, in a NoodleIncident.
* BerserkButton: There are some things that really set him off.
** He snapped out of his Brainwashing (among many) after being overcharged at a restaurant.
** Messing with his treehouse.
** Don't waste his time and resources on pointless missions. He ''instantly'' snapped out of his [[GoingNative primal Rainbow Monkey state]] after one such instance.
* BigOlEyebrows: They're not exactly thick, but he does have a prominent pair that usually extend past his own head.
* BritishStuffiness: Has shades of this, particularly due to his accent.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:He leaves Earth in the GrandFinale to join the Galactic Kids Next Door.]]
* CaptainErsatz: He's an obvious homage to [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration Captain Picard.]] "Operation: T.R.I.C.K.Y." even has him dress as a Borg for Halloween.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In the first season he was no-nonsense and short-tempered, often treating the others as like he was SurroundedByIdiots -- though never thinking plans all the way through and being fairly passive and bossy, telling everyone what to do even if it got them into trouble. The dedicated super spy leader characterization he would be known for didn't manifest until the first season finale, after which Numbuh One became the hyper-competent leader that was NotSoAboveItAll. This also meshes with the fact that he shifted from [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness leader of the Kids Next Door]] to just the leader of Sector V, taking a load of bumbling responsibility off of the character and letting him shine on his own merits.
* ClosetGeek: He secretly likes Rainbow Monkeys, but the other operatives don't know.
* CoolShades: He's rarely seen without his cool sunglasses.
* ConspiracyTheorist: Though on some occasions, he turns out to be ProperlyParanoid.
* CrackDefeat: In "Operation: E.L.E.C.T.I.O.N.S." he loses the election to the Delightful Children in a rigged election. He sets things right, only to find that he really did lose... to [[StrawLoser Eggbert Egglestein]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Tends to be almost as sarcastic as Numbuh Five at times.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype:
** Of the {{Workaholic}} and IdealHero. Nigel selflessly dedicates himself to saving kids from adult tyranny and is staunchly loyal to the Kids Next Door above all else, and the higher-ups consider him the KND's best operative. But he is so single-mindedly devoted to his job that he tends to ignore everything else in favor of it. "Operation: Q.U.I.E.T." shows him neglecting his health by staying up for six days improving the treehouse's defense systems, and "Operation: D.A.T.E." shows him ignoring Lizzie on their date in favor of trying to investigate the Delightful Children's evil plot. [[spoiler:She eventually dumps him after realizing that he'll never be able give her the attention she wants because he's too busy with the KND.]] [[spoiler: Although Lizzie's relationship with Nigel Uno was revealed to be a test if he was worthy to be in the Galatic Kids Next Door.]] [[spoiler:At the end of the series, he leaves Earth to join the Galactic Kids Next Door. Though it clearly hurts him to leave behind his family and his best friends, he goes because he believes that the GKND, and all the kids in the galaxy, need him more. In the 2015 "Stop the G:KND" teaser, he's seriously considering ''destroying Earth'' with everyone he loves on it because it's completely infested with adults and "too far gone".]]
** He also serves as a DeconReconSwitch for the idea of TheLeader. Early Numbuh 1 was perhaps more reckless than everyone else but Numbuh 4, and barely fit for his position as a KnowNothingKnowItAll, but as CharacterizationMarchesOn, the series started depicting him as one of the few [[OnlySaneMan sane team leaders]] in the wacky Kids Next Door who is touted as the very best by the end. "Operation: W.A.S.H.I.N.G.T.O.N." then outright has him state, however, that Numbuh 5 hacked the database to help him get a passing grade for the K.N.D., implying he actually ''wasn't fit after all'' for being an operative until he eventually hit his CharacterDevelopment and rose up above everyone else through sheer hard work and dedication. [[spoiler:The irony of him being the one chosen as Earth's representative in the Galactic Kids Next Door means someone who could've been a regular nobody that cheated into the organization is now among the top leadership in the cosmos.]]
* DubNameChange: He's called "Miguel Uno" in the Latin American Spanish dub.
* EmbarrassingNickname: Numbuh 274 and the Delightful Children mockingly call him "Nigie," his ex-girlfriend's AffectionateNickname for him.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The pilot episode is a compact display of his tendency to overthink plans [[note]]outlining a complicated infiltration of the titular pool when just running directly at it would be simpler[[/note]], how he's not always wrong to do so [[note]]Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb easily repel this straightforward assault[[/note]], and the ways in which he can take missions too far and ruin them for his team [[note]]hijacking the lifeguard chair and accidentally draining the pool in his attempt to get rid of a distracted Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb[[/note]].
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even his UndyingLoyalty to the KND isn't enough to make him stick around [[Recap/CodenameKidsNextDoorSpecialTheGrimAdventuresOfTheKND Endsville]] for more than a couple of hours.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: [[spoiler:In the GKND teasers, he has replaced his trademark sunglasses with a sinister-looking visor.]]
* EvilFormerFriend: [[spoiler:Potentially has become this to the rest of Sector V as of the GKND teaser.]]
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:If he is not planning something in the teasers for the GKND, then he has turned on the Earth, the KND, and his friends for real. He has started what is going to be the fight of their lives.]]
* FallenHero: [[spoiler: In the [=GKND=] teasers, it's shown he'd be willing to go along with the titular organization's plan because of the massive number of adults on Earth.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In his very first episode with Lizzie, he's seemingly shirking duty to be with her, and yet he can't actually stand to be ''seen'' with her until after she's apologized for the whole [[ItMakesSenseInContext boyfriend helmet]] thing; even then he partially resists the helmet to be concerned for his friends at first. As the series goes on, he ''does'' care for her very dearly, but ultimately he focuses on his work and team more when it comes down to the line. [[spoiler:This all culminates in "Operation: G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D." where he legitimately cannot carry a relationship with Lizzie ''and'' focus on his work, and ultimately decides for duty over love; this even does a double-whammy of foreshadowing that he'll put the Kids Next Door's ideology ahead of his own wishes, as shown in the [=GKND=] teasers.]]
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Melancholic (hardworking, stubborn, easily paranoid, and takes the Kids Next Door VERY seriously).
* FragileSpeedster: In the online game ''Protect and Swerve,'' he drives a bicycle called the T.W.A.C.K.E.R.; it is the fastest vehicle in the game, but has the weakest armor.
* GoofyPrintUnderwear: He wears Rainbow Monkey underwear, as seen in "Operation: B.U.T.T.".
* HenpeckedHusband: Or boyfriend in this case. Given Lizzie's fierce attitude, Nigel is in constant fear of her wrath, but loves her nonetheless.
* HeritageDisconnect: He has a British accent because he was born there, and even after he moved to America at a young age he never lost his accent. When he visits England he's utterly confused and annoyed by the terminology and social differences.
* TheHero: He is the leader and head operative of Sector V, as well as the keeper of the Book of KND. In fact, he has risen to become one of the greatest KND operatives ever. Numbuh 1 takes his position and responsibilities as a KND operative very seriously, often engaging in missions for days at a time without rest.
* HeroicBSOD: Gets this after the Delightful Children turn him into an adult until Numbuh Five gives him a RousingSpeech to get him back.
* HeroicLineage: [[spoiler:He's the son of Numbuh Zero, the most famous KND operative in recorded history, and Numbuh 999, the first-ever female KND operative.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: He once referred to Numbuh 2 as his best friend. Also shares this relationship with Numbuh 4.
* HumanoidAbomination: While it wasn't shown outright, it's worth noting that [[spoiler:he's a blood relative of both Father and Grandfather. However, neither Nigel or his own dad has never been seen using their powers or ever been implied to be capable of it, so perhaps only the bad eggs of the Uno family can use it.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: He ''can'' play the Sousaphone, he just doesn't like listening to it.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: [[spoiler:This is his entire demeanor when Chad is pleading with him not to destroy the Earth with everyone they love on it in the GKND teaser.]]
* InformedDeformity: According to everyone else in the show, his butt is so huge it's the kind of badonkadonk spoken only in legend. The viewers see a photo of it in the end, but while it's of considerable size for his stature, other characters like Numbuh Two would definitely have larger ones.
* InsultedAwake: Several times.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Vin Moosk. Initially skeptical of him due to being an adult, Moosk earns Numbuh 1's respect and friendship due to his genuine desire to rid kids of wearing ties, to the point that Nigel considers him the "coolest adult" he ever met. After Moosk sacrifices his tie-hunting personality to destroy the Queen Tie, Nigel goes out of his way to mail him a can of starch, ecstatic when he succeeds in reawakening his tie-hating self.
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler:Chad is the only ArchEnemy Numbuh 1 has ever tried to kill, only to learn that his betrayal was a ruse. Furthermore, despite learning his "betrayal" in "Operation: E.N.D." and wondering why he would do so, Chad bitterly notes that he never once figured out that he was faking his treachery by secretly helping him and Sector V in the missions he was antagonistic towards them. Nigel even briefly looks perplexed and unable to dispute when this is pointed out to him.]]
%%* ItsPersonal: With Chad, in "Operation: T.R.E.A.T.Y.".
* {{Jetpack}}: Has signature Jet Boots that he uses frequently (including in the opening animation). He also uses a conventional one in "Operation: O.O.M.P.A.H.".
* JokeOfTheButt: It's a minor recurring joke that he has a large butt.
* KissingUnderTheInfluence: In "Operation: L.I.Z.Z.I.E.".
* TheLeader: He is in charge of Sector V.
* LovedINotHonorMore: Abides by this philosophy until "Operation G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D.", where he chooses to protect Lizzie over a mission. Unfortunately, [[spoiler:Lizzie has already had enough and breaks up with him]].
* MacGyvering: In Operation: E.L.E.C.T.I.O.N.S., he escaped from a cell by slugging Lunk (who was guarding him) stealing Lunk's bubble gum, and turning the gum into a makeshift skeleton key. (Which, [[RuleOfFunny likely for the sake of humor]], was given the 2x4 designation [[FunWithAcronyms G.U.M.M.B.O.]] right on the spot, standing for Gooey Unlocking Mush Maximizes Break Outs.)
* MarriedToTheJob: Notably, he didn't want to go on a vacation despite his teammates' wishes for him to do so. Deconstructed by the fact that it really hurts his relationship with Lizzie. [[spoiler:The main cause of their breakup is that he is constantly working when they are supposed to be on a date.]]
* MeaningfulName: Nigel ''Uno'' -- Uno is Spanish for "one".
* NecessarilyEvil: [[spoiler:Nigel clearly does not enjoy what he is doing in the GKND teaser; it is clear that he feels like it is the only option he has left.]]
* TheNeedsOfTheMany: [[spoiler:Implied to be the reason he would willingly put his friends in danger in the GKND teaser. It was clear he had some hesitation, but in the end decided the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, even if those few are the people he loves the most in the world.]]
* NobleMaleRoguishMale: The Noble Male to Numbuh Four's Roguish Male.
* NoodleIncident: The Delightful Children are responsible for him losing his hair. Exactly how we never learn.
* NotSoAboveItAll: He drops his professionalism around Numbuh 363 at one point and even wanted to beat him up. To be fair, Numbuh 363 is very rotten.
* OhCrap: Is left in complete and utter shock, confusion, disbelief and horror when he realizes that [[spoiler:Father, the BigBad of the series and the single greatest enemy of the Kids Next Door prior to Grandfather's return, is the brother of Numbuh Zero that had turned coward before the battle that cemented Zero's legacy -- that is to say, Nigel's ''uncle''. Which also makes [[GreaterScopeVillain Grandfather]] his actual, real grandfather as well. He doesn't get any time to dwell on it, but his reaction is probably [[IntendedAudienceReaction shared with the audience]].]]
* OfficerAndAGentleman: He's incredibly polite, even with adults (provided he's not fighting them), the most likely to invoke LetsFightLikeGentlemen, and has an honorable streak the other KND lack.
* OfficialCouple: With Lizzie, though she breaks up with him near the end of the series in "Operation: G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D.", after realizing that [[MarriedToTheJob his loyalty to the KND will always come first]].
* OneManArmy: On a good day where he's the focal point character of an episode in later seasons, Numbuh 1 is considered one of the best operatives the Kids Next Door has ever had, and can tangle it solo with potentially entire swaths of the RoguesGallery. [[spoiler:It's good enough that, alongside his willingness to put his job first and foremost above all else, the Galactic Kids Next Door arrange his recruitment above Chad Dickson, aka [[TheAce Numbuh 274]].]]
* PaperThinDisguise: He disguises himself as Billy in the crossover with ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'' by simply wearing a frying pan on his head and a tomato for a fake nose. Also, "Operation: F.L.U.S.H." has Mr. Boss mention that he fooled the Toiletnator with a T-shirt that said "I'm not Numbuh 1".
* PassingTheTorch: Before joining the Galactic Kids Next Door, he makes Numbuh 5 the new leader of Sector V and gives his shades to her.
* PlatonicLifePartners: He and Numbuh Five are close friends of opposite genders who aren't in love with each other.
* PlayfulOtter: Gets turned into one in "Operation: G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S.".
* PrematurelyBald: Thanks to the Delightful Children, he's lost all his hair despite being a child, and his hair will never grow back.
* ProperlyParanoid: While his theories are plausible in his world, they're so convoluted that it's easy to see where he's stretching it.
* PuppyLove: With Lizzie.
* RealMenWearPink: He likes Rainbow Monkeys (though he may not know it) as shown in the credits of "Operation S.A.T.U.R.N." and is shown to wear Rainbow Monkey underwear as shown in "Operation B.U.T.T.".
* RedIsHeroic: The leader of [=KND=] wears a red turtleneck.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Numbuh Five's blue.
* ShipTease: With Rachel, especially during "Operation: I.T." and "Operation: G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D." [[spoiler:after he and Lizzie break up.]]
* SingleTear: [[spoiler:In the GKND teaser, he's planning to destroy the Earth because it's too infested with adults, but almost can't bring himself to go through with it. Finally, he sheds a single tear and salutes the Earth before shouting, ''"Galactic Kids Next Door rules!"'' and activates the command module.]]
* SunglassesAtNight: He's almost never seen without his pair of sunglasses.
* TeamDad: He looks after his fellow operatives. Incidentally, his father is [[spoiler:a former KND agent.]]
* TinyTimTemplate: He is a British boy who is bald, which created a fan-theory that he has cancer. He also has his moments of [[ButtMonkey bad luck happen to him]].
* TookALevelInBadass: From a KnowNothingKnowItAll that tended to mess up and underestimate the threats as he seemed to mostly be in charge because Sector V were friends, to what is considered ''the'' most badass operative in the entirety of the present K.N.D. organization. [[spoiler:Enough so that the Galactic Kids Next Door elected him over ''Chad'' as their newest member, which is why Chad [[ArchEnemy singles him out]] in the first place.]]
* UnwittingPawn: Of the Galactic Kids Next Door.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: [[spoiler:What happened between the events of the series and the G:KND teaser that turned the good-hearted Nigel we all know and love into a cold-blooded Galactic KND operative willing to destroy the Earth?]]
* VillainousLineage: [[spoiler:In "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.-F.I.V.E." Father mentions his great grandmother is alluded to being evil. Which we later learn that Father is his actual uncle. His grandfather is also evil in "Operation: Z.E.R.O." and as of the G:KND teaser: ''Nigel'' himself has truly followed in their footsteps as he plans to destroy the Earth due to him thinking it's too far gone with so many adults.]]
* VocalDissonance: After VocalEvolution hit, he ended up with a voice more suited for a young man in his teens, despite being only 10-11 years old.
* VocalEvolution: His voice was higher and more nasal sounding when the series started, before taking a deeper and more authoritative tone.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: His issue with Chad stems from this. Nigel had ''idolized'' him, and Chad's betrayal had stung him deeply. [[spoiler: Ironically, the betrayal wasn't real, [[BecomingTheMask but Chad had his own issue with Nigel]] [[DrivenByEnvy possibly becoming better than him]], causing their friendship to remain unsalvageable as a result.]] [[spoiler:After seeing what happened in the GKND teaser, this is probably going to be his relationship with the rest of Sector V from here on, unless the end of "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." is a hint that they eventually make up somewhere down the line.]]
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Shares a moment with Numbuh 362 during "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.-F.I.V.E.". When Numbuh 362 announces that Numbuh 86 and Numbuh 19th Century might be on Father's new space station/birthday cake, Numbuh 1 volunteers for the rescue mission almost instantly. Keep in mind that he and his team do not like Numbuh 86, and the feeling is mutual.
* WhereIWasBornAndRazed: [[spoiler:He's planning to destroy Earth, his home planet, in the GKND teaser because it's "too infested with adults".]]
* WhiteSheep: ''Operation Z.E.R.O'' reveals that he and his father are this to the Uno family, as they're related to [[spoiler:Grandfather and Father, and the latter adopting the Delightful Children]].
* {{Workaholic}}: Completely dedicated to his job as a KND officer. In "Operation: Q.U.I.E.T.", he stays up for six days without any sleep fixing the treehouse's security system, to the point that [[TeamMom Abby]] has to physically drag him away from the machine and force him to go to bed. Some episodes, including "Operation: D.A.T.E." and "Operation: B.E.A.C.H.", show him still trying to fight adult tyranny when he and his team are supposed to be on vacation.
* WorldsBestWarrior: Considered to be the best KND operative on the planet after Chad defected. [[spoiler:Even when it's revealed that Chad is a FakeDefector, Nigel is ''still'' considered to be this by the higher-ups, which is why Chad hates him so much.]]
* ZeroToHero: Numbuh 5 had to hack the database to give him a passing grade to get into the Kids Next Door, yet by the end of the series, he's considered to be the single greatest operative on the planet.

The team's [[TheSmartGuy technology expert]] who loves cracking bad jokes. As Sector V's technology officer, he designs much of the 2×4 technology the team uses. In his off-time he enjoys building and flying airplanes and solving mysteries at his school.
----
* AcePilot: He's even better at flying his machines than he is at building them.
* {{Acrofatic}}: [[DependingOnTheWriter Though there are a few episodes where his chubbiness works against him.]] He mostly proves surprisingly athletic, though that's justified in that he and his team have been militarily trained.
* AirplaneArms: Used this in the original pilot.
* AloofBigBrother: While he can come off as this towards his little brother, Tommy, he does have BigBrotherInstinct moments as well, often defending his little brother and displaying pride in his accomplishments. However more often than not, he is annoyed by Tommy's antics and often feels like he's too inexperienced to act as a full-fledged KND operative.
* AmbiguouslyJewish: His grandma often speaks with a strong Yiddish accent, which could make him Jewish from his mother's side. The show doesn't explore further though.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While not to the same degree as Numbuh 3, he is still a NiceGuy that can make you regret causing trouble.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He's not taken seriously by anyone. More than once he's proven why that is a bad idea.
* BigEater: He tends to have a huge appetite. He's also the only one who will eat [[LethalChef Grandma Stuffum's cooking]] ''willingly''. However even he has his limits in that he can't eat forever, and does get full, albeit after making a large dent in Grandma Stuffum's army.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The big to Numbuh Four's little.
* BlueIsHeroic: Wears a blue shirt and is also the nicest and most heroic of his team.
* BrainsAndBrawn: The Brains to Numbuh Four's Brawn given how often the two are seen working together.
* BrilliantButLazy: Could be on par with other high level operatives but cares more for following his passions and innovations than doing so. He is notably seen doing more non-standard operative work than any other member of his sector (detective, messenger, soda smuggler, etc.), very little of which actually relates to his stated position and is done for his own entertainment. This does ''not'' apply to his tech guru role which he approaches with relish.
* BunglingInventor: His clumsiness and short-sightedness sometimes cause his inventions to have fatal flaws.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Despite all his eccentricities, he's an awesome pilot and techie.
* CannotTellAJoke: Numbuh 2 is always is making puns and telling jokes which draw nothing but groans from his fellow agents, especially Numbuh 5. In "Operation P.O.O.L." the agents meet their BizarroWorld counterparts which exhibit the ''opposite'' traits of the normal agents; in contrast to the real Numbuh 2, Negative Numbuh 2 is a good comedian who always makes people laugh, except for Numbuh 2 himself, who doesn't find his negative counterpart's jokes to be funny at all.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: At the very beginning of the series, Numbuh 2 was little more than an AcePilot who was also quite a bit of a CaptainCrash and had a habit for bad puns, often being the bumbling ButtMonkey ahead of everyone else. It's to the point that when the rest of the team are coming up with super, over-the-top [=2x4=] technology, his best idea was a rubber band food flinger -- even if it [[ChekhovsGun saved the day at the end.]] Not even halfway through the first season, he started coming up with his own inventions that were notably more advanced than anything the rest of the crew came up with, and the flyboy suddenly would soon become ''the'' top GadgeteerGenius in the series.
* CoDragons: Serves a [[InvertedTrope Heroic instance]] of this trope with Numbuh 5, as both act as TheLancer to Numbuh 1.
* CompressedVice: His chocolate sauce addiction. Possibly justified given how the flashback revealed this was back when he was part of the Safety Patrol so back before the series.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: A chubby dork who is nonetheless one of the best engineers and pilots that KND has to offer. He's saved the KND single-handedly more than once and is the only one in his Sector besides Numbuh 1 to have beaten Father in a one-on-one confrontation.
* DisappearedDad: Numbuh 2's dad, Hoagie P. Gilligan, Sr., hasn't been seen at all throughout the series. "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.-F.O.U.R." heavily implies his father is dead as he's referred to entirely in past tense.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He ''hates'' rhubarb.
* DoggedNiceGuy: To Cree.
* DorkKnight: Despite his quirks, he's probably the most overtly heroic of all of the KND, who tend to be varying degrees of AntiHero.
* DubNameChange: His name is Guillermo "Memo" Gonzalez Jr. in the Latin American Spanish dub.
* EdibleThemeNaming: His nickname; a hoagie is a type of large sandwich.
* EmbarrassingFirstName: It’s ''Hogarth''. He goes by the nickname "Hoagie", but that really isn’t much better.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He can eat nearly anything, including Gramma Stuffum's cooking. But a single bite of Lizzie's special pie instantly knocks him unconscious.
* ExpressiveMask: His flight goggles, which he hardly ever removes. One can be forgiven for thinking that those are just his eyes.
* ExtremeOmnivore: He's the only one who can stomach Grandma Stuffum's monstrous food. And just about anything else, really.
* EyeGlasses: His goggle lenses are expressive.
* FatComicRelief: Along with Numbuh 3, he tends to be one of the most comical members of the team.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Phlegmatic (laid back, friendly, sensitive, and the least action-oriented of Sector V).
* FormerlyFat: He loses a lot of weight when he becomes a teenager, though the finale shows that he eventually gains it all back as an adult.
* GadgeteerGenius: He is one of the KND's best of these if not arguably the best. In fact, he's considered so good that when plenty of other scientist kids are kidnapped by the supposed "Splinter Cell", special interest is put into protecting him by putting him into hiding. As Numbuh One put it, if they got their hands on Numbuh Two, they'd be able to build almost ''anything''.
* GeekPhysiques: The chubby kind.
* GogglesDoNothing: Half and half, he works with high speed equipment so it would help with wind resistance. But generally just has them on most of the time for no reason either.
* GRatedDrug: Chocolate syrup in the past, he even went to Alcoholics Anonymous-style group therapy meetings for them. An original script revealed that it was originally cranberry sauce.
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:To Numbuh 5 of all people as adults.]]
* HeIsAllGrownUp: Teen!Hogarth is pretty cute (not to mention much thinner), and even manages to catch Cree's attention. He eventually regained the weight as an adult, though.
* ImprobablePilotingSkills: Especially considering that his machines should hardly be able to get off the ground in the first place.
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: He's seen enjoying the Rainbow Monkey movie in "Operation M.O.V.I.E.".
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: Has this dynamic with Numbuh 3 when they take care of Bradley, with the two of them acting like Bradley's parents.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Outside of taking care of Bradley, this is his usual dynamic with Numbuh 3.
* MeaningfulName:
** Hogarth P. Gilligan ''Jr.'', appropriately enough, a twofer reference. First, there's "Gilligan", a reference to the title character of ''Series/GilligansIsland'', who was also second-in-command on the ''S.S. Minnow''. Then there's the "Jr.", often used at the end of a boy's name to signify that he's the second male in the family to have inherited his father's name[[note]]The difference between using "Jr." and "II (the second)" for naming boys is that "II" is used when a name skips a generation, then comes back while Jr. is used if the name hasn't skipped a generation or was used before the father was born.[[/note]] (a seemingly throwaway detail that foreshadows the importance of his DisappearedDad, Hogarth P. Gilligan, Sr.)
** Also in that one can view him as the "Number 2" to Nigel. Apparently, they have been best friends since kindergarten and the series finale has him address Numbuh 1 by name [[spoiler:when Numbuh 2 says his good-bye to him when Numbuh 1 is headed to the GKND.]]
** There's his nickname "Hoagie", befitting his fondness for food.
* NerdyNasalness: Numbuh 2 speaks with a nasal voice, emphasizing his nerdiness.
* NeverBareheaded: His helmet's only come off a few times, and it's always been taken off by force. His eyes have been seen about as much as his hair.
* NiceGuy: Probably the nicest and most optimistic of all of Sector V.
* NumberTwo: Besides being his moniker, he is Numbuh 1's right hand man and his oldest friend to boot.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:"Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." reveals that he and Numbuh 5 got married in adulthood.]]
* OppositesAttract: [[spoiler:With Numbuh 5.]]
* PrecociousCrush: On Cree, nearly 6 years his senior.
* PrivateDetective: His side job, in full-on, [[ConspicuousTrenchcoat trenchcoat]]-clad FilmNoir mode.
* PungeonMaster: He ''cannot'' resist making a pun about any situation he's in. He thinks he's making snappy one-liners. Everyone else thinks he's being a dork.
* RedOniBlueOni: The laid-back and somewhat coolheaded blue to Numbuh 4's impulsive and angry red.
* SeniorSleepCycle: As an elderly adult, he constantly falls asleep at random.
* SettleForSibling: [[spoiler:He ends up marrying Numbuh 5, his PrecociousCrush's sister.]]
* ShipTease: If you didn't see the hints that [[spoiler:Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5]] like each other ''before'' [[spoiler:they got married in the GrandFinale]], watch the series over again. You'll notice a ''lot'' of things that you missed the first time around.
* ShipperOnDeck: Ships Wally and Kuki, and he and Abby frequently tease Wally when he gets jealous.
* SignatureHeadgear: His pilot's helmet and goggles. He's [[NeverBareheaded rarely seen without it]].
* TheSmartGuy: He's responsible for all of the 2x4 technology in Sector V.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth: Gramma Stuffum's cooking is lethal to everyone ''but'' Numbuh 2, who devours it happily and asks for seconds.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He loves chili dogs.
* TurnInYourBadge: He was once on Safety Patrol, but [[NoodleIncident his reasons for leaving the force are unknown]].
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Inches away from the finish line of the tubeathon, a competition he's come in last place every year, he turns around after he hears the rest of the town's children are in danger. He could have easily secured his victory first, then gone to save them.

Numbuh 3 is described as the "Diversionary Tactics Expert," and is the nurse of the medical lab and the primary caretaker of hamsters in Sector V. She seems to have a lot of admirers, but her heart obviously belongs to a certain Aussie.
----
* ActionGirl: Overshadowed by Numbuh 5 in this department, but she's definitely not someone to be messed with.
* AnimalMotifs: In "Operation: G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S.", her animal form of a Japanese red-crowned crane is probably the most fitting of Sector V's; cranes are graceful and energetic birds frequently associated with beauty, tranquility and good fortune, but can also be quite ferocious when threatened or angered--imagining Kuki as one is not much of a stretch.
* TheAntiNihilist: Her general philosophy comes across as this. In a series that runs on GrowingUpSucks, many of the child characters look toward aging with grimness or depression. Kuki never gives into this mindset, though, even though she's aware that she won't be a little girl forever--instead, she focuses on being happy, having fun, and spreading joy ''despite'' knowing that her childhood is temporary.
* AscendedFangirl: [[spoiler:She becomes CEO of the Rainbow Monkeys Corporation when she grows up.]]
* AsianAirhead: She's Japanese and often hyper and ditzy, but it may be an act.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: She has a very short attention span, but is long on charm, speaking in a slight Asian accent, and often alludes to her Japanese heritage.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: One of the youngest members of Sector V, with an innocent, ditzy, and kindhearted personality to match.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Numbuh 4. They get into their disagreements, but eventually come to realize that they love each other.
* BerserkButton: Do not insult the Rainbow Monkeys in front of her (that means ''you,'' Wally) and don't even mess with her plushies either, although the former was self-inflicted and her own fault like in "Operation: H.U.G.S.". [[MamaBear Or her friends, or the hamsters, or Bradley.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Underneath her kind personality, lies a ferocious temper that even [[BloodKnight Numbuh 4]] fears.
* BilingualBonus:
** Kuki's last name ("Sanban") is Japanese for "third one" ("san" means three and the Japanese suffix "-ban" is used when creating ordinal numbers). "Kuki" itself is Japanese for "air", reflecting her carefree and {{Cloudcuckoolander}} personality.
** Her father's name, Kani, is Japanese for "crab" referring to his HairTriggerTemper.
** Her sister Mushi is Japanese for "insect", referring at how she can be a pest some times.
** Her mother's name is Genki, who is more staid and well-behaved than what her name implies (see GenkiGirl).
* BrattyHalfPint: Tends to whine and get upset when things don't go exactly how she wants it. She has on more than one occasion refused to partake in missions just because her feelings were hurt.
* CheerfulChild: Cheerful is a serious understatement, as her happiness is often greater than anyone else's in the series.
* ChildlikeVoice: Cheery, optimistic Kuki has a notably high-pitched and cute-sounding voice.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Numbuh 3 lives on a planet that hasn't even been discovered yet.
* CovertPervert: A running gag in "Operation B.R.I.E.F." is that Numbuh 3 continuously looks at Numbuh 1's butt because of his underwear issue, much to his dismay.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Most of the time, she's an airhead with a short attention span. She's still extremely dangerous if provoked.
--> '''Numbuh 3''': Toys? I don't want toys. [[http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/kndroleplay/images/a/a4/Sharp_teeth.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110815175049 I WANT REVENGE!!]]
* CuteAndPsycho: At her most frightening, she becomes creepily hostile.
* CuteBruiser: She's adorable and cheery, and perfectly capable of putting the hurting on you.
* CuteOversizedSleeves: Numbuh 3 wears a green sweater that keeps her hands covered. These sleeves are used to match with her cheerful GenkiGirl personality, as well as contrasting with the tomboyish Numbuh 5.
* CutenessProximity: She turns into jello anytime something even remotely cute and cuddly shows itself.
* TheCutie: Numbuh 3 is the most innocent and adorable member of Sector V, and loves Rainbow Monkeys, baby animals, and all things cute. The intro shows her happily skipping around with a bouquet of flowers.
* DamselInDistress: A recurring plot with King Sandy, with Wally, in particular, coming to her rescue. Though it stopped once Sandy fell in love with her little sister Mushi instead. There are other examples throughout the show, mostly of Wally pushing her out of harms' way. And he is the first to grab Kuki in GHOST when she is being kidnapped by dead hamsters.
* ADayInTheLimelight: She is the player character of the online game ''Rainbow Monkey Rundown'', where she has to escape from King Sandy armed with nothing but a yo-yo.
* DemonHead: She has quite a GameFace when she gets angry.
* TheDitz: She acts pretty mindless a lot of times, even when she's in battle. Occasionally switches to GeniusDitz, depending on the situation.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: In "Operation: H.O.M.E.", she has to send her first Rainbow Monkey to a care home after he becomes too old and ragged to bring on missions, but later discovers that the care home is actually a front for a business that grinds up Rainbow Monkeys into cereal. The situation draws parallels to an adult who leaves their elderly parent in a nursing home and later finds out they're being abused by the people who are supposed to be taking care of them.
* DorkKnight: She's cute, likable, and a very formidable member of the team.
* DubNameChange: She's known as "Kuki Kiut" in the Latin American Spanish dub.
* DudeMagnet: Numbuh 4 aside, she's caught the attention of several other boys.
* TheEmpath: Numbuh 3 has more than once displayed the ability to tell the feelings of someone or something, acting and speaking like a mystical guru of some sort for whatever reason.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Her relationship with Numbuh 4.
-->'''Numbuh 12:''' ''(during a slumber party)'' Okay, Numbuh 3! Truth or dare?
-->'''Numbuh 3:''' Truth, silly!
-->'''Numbuh 12:''' Okay! Do you like Numbuh 4? ''(Numbuh 4, who is sitting nearby and wearing a PaperThinDisguise, spits out his soda)''
-->'''Numbuh 3:''' Of course I like Numbuh 4! We're in the same unit!
-->'''Numbuh 12:''' ''(smirks more mischievously and shakes her head)'' Nooooo! Do you ''like''-like Numbuh 4?
-->'''Numbuh 3:''' You mean like...''like''-like, like-like?
-->'''Numbuh 12 and Numbuh 23:''' ''(simultaneously)'' YES! ''(both snicker)''
* EyesAlwaysShut: Only about half the time, but certainly enough to be noticeable.
* FanDisservice: When she and Numbuh 4 start making out as senior citi-zombies. Also an In-Universe example since their friends who were not yet zombified reacted with horror and disgust.
* FireballEyeballs: When she gets ''really'' mad.
* FirstNameBasis: As the series progresses, she starts calling Numbuh 4 "Wally" more frequently.
* FluffyTamer: In one comic she tames a three-headed poodle and names it Waffles.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Sanguine (ditzy, cheerful, easily distracted MoodSwinger)
* {{Flanderization}}: Her love for Rainbow Monkeys grew to ridiculous proportions as the series went on. So much so that it even saved the universe at one point.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: A lover of Rainbow Monkeys, hamsters, skunks, etc..
* FunPersonified: She rarely gets serious, even in the middle of missions or engaging combat with whatever threat is currently trying to destroy her.
* GenkiGirl: The most excitable member of Sector V.
* GirlishPigtails: When she was younger, she had pigtails, making her look very similar to her younger sister.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Her room is filled with tons of stuffed toys.
* GirlyBruiser: A girly girl who becomes the most intimidating member of Sector V when angry.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: She's a somewhat [[TheDitz ditzy]], Rainbow Monkey-loving GenkiGirl, who when on occasions where she doesn't wear he signature green sweater, the outfit is gonna be either [[PinkMeansFeminine pink]] or [[GracefulLadiesLikePurple lavender]], is a total [[TheIngenue ingenue]] and the most feminine of Sector V but she has no trouble doing unpleasant things or getting dirty, loves skunks, and when angry she has a ''much'' more [[UnstoppableRage aggressive demeanor]], and her default outfit is less traditionally feminine than [[TomboyWithAGirlyStreak Abby's]].
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: When she is not wearing green, Kuki wears Lavender. Particularly when she's feeling romantic.
* {{Goth}}: Temporarily becomes a goth in "Operation: C.A.R.A.M.E.L." after having her cheerfulness magically stolen.
* TheGrimReaper: She temporarily replaces [[WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy Grim]] in this role when she [[TheCameo appears]] in ''[[TheMovie Billy and Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure]]''.
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:To Numbuh 4 in the future, not that anyone was surprised]].
* HiddenDepths: In "Operation: F.A.S.T.-F.O.O.D.", Numbuh 4 thinks she'll want to pick flowers or get a pony for her birthday wish. Nope, she wants to lead a mission!
** As the final episode reveals, she's actually a lot more aware of her surroundings than she lets on. When Numbuh 1 is [[spoiler: saying goodbye as he prepares to leave Earth and join the Galactic KND]], she chides him for thinking she's oblivious, leading to the page quote. In general, it's implied that she's ''choosing'' to be optimistic and ditzy, likely because [[TheAntiNihilist life's just more fun that way.]]
* TheHeart: Has shades of this with how gentle and warm she can be especially towards hamsters. Having said that, make her mad and you’ll forget about any kindness while cowering from the force of nature that is Numbuh 3’s wrath.
* HumongousMecha: H.I.P.P.Y.-H.O.P., a bunny mecha she sometimes pilots.
* IdiotHair: A single hair strand of her hair is always sticking out.
* IdiotHero: Probably tied with Numbuh 4 in being a hero who isn't very bright.
* InformedAttribute: Supplementary materials call her a flirt, but instances of her being flirtatious towards other boys are very sporadic and not prominent enough to be a primary character trait.
* TheIngenue: Kuki checks all the boxes for this one, young, child-like, sweet, naive, virginal (at her age, that's a given), and romantic. She draws a lot of attention from boys in the series and is constantly being protected (from kidnappers, falling objects, death rays...) by Wally.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Not in the show proper, but in the Creator/CartoonNetwork game ''Rainbow Monkey Rundown'', she fights King Sandy's minions with a yo-yo.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Her future self shown in "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." is a very harsh and serious businesswoman, much like her mother, who prefers to be called by her real name instead of "Numbuh 3" but [[spoiler:she is still sad because of Numbuh 1's departure. Given that the ending reveals she and the other members of Sector V may have not been decommissioned it might have been an act to fool Father.]]
* KiddieKid: Of Sector V, Numbuh 3 is the most childlike in personality.
* KindheartedSimpleton: She is girly, optimistic, bubbly, dizzy-headed, clueless, kind, caring, patient, gentle, and arguably smarter than her teammate, Numbuh 4, upon whom she harbors a crush, as seen throughout the show, though it is less obvious.
* KissOfDeath: After she gets TheVirus in ''WesternAnimation/OperationZERO'', she infects Numbuh 4 with a kiss.
* LetsGetDangerous: She's outrageously ditzy and easily distracted, but she can be a genuine threat when the chips are down.
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: With Numbuh 2 when they take care of Bradley.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Numbuh 1 considers her to be like a sister to him. She also has this relationship with Numbuh 2.
* LittleMissBadass: A 10-year-old girl who can make grown men cry has '''earned''' this title.
* LooseLips: She ''cannot'' keep a secret, even for a couple of seconds.
* MamaBear: Do ''not'' mess with the hamsters or Bradley.
* MeaningfulName: Kuki ''Sanban'' -- "Sanban" is Japanese for "third"; Kuki is a misspelling of "kooky" (meaning crazy or off-kilter) and is also Japanese for "air", both of which refers to her ditzy, {{Cloudcuckoolander}} personality.
* TheMedic: While officially described as the [[WeNeedADistraction "Diversionary Tactics Expert"]] of Sector V, Kuki is also the resident team nurse and the hamsters' caretaker of Sector V.
* MoodSwinger: She can go from "obliviously cheerful" to "homicidally angry" at the drop of a hat.
* MoralityPet: Wally's. While he's not a bad guy by any stretch of the imagination, many of his kindest moments are reserved for her, like in "Operation: B.U.T.T." when he tries to cheer her up by getting out her stuffed animals and talking in a silly voice, something he would normally hate--but he'd do it for Kuki in a heartbeat.
* MotorMouth: She sometimes talks a lot without stopping.
* NiceGirl: She's a cheery, sweet natured girl.
* NobodysThatDumb: Near the end of the GrandFinale, "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.", when Numbuh 1 is saying goodbye to his crew before he [[spoiler: leaves Earth to join the Galactic Kids Next Door]], he talks with her one last time:
-->'''Numbuh 3''': Soooo, what we gonna do tomorrow Numbuh 1?\
'''Numbuh 1''': Ahh, yeah, I'm not going to be here Numbuh 3.\
'''Numbuh 3''': Oh... And what about the day after that?.\
'''Numbuh 1''': Oh, let me explain Kuki...\
'''Numbuh 3''': Oh, I know you're leaving, silly. What do you think I am, an airhead or something?\
'''Numbuh 1''': Never for a second.
* TheNoseKnows: She can track Rainbow Monkeys down with her nose.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: According to Website/TheOtherWiki, she only acts airheaded and happy [[StepfordSmiler to keep from being depressed]].
* ObliviousToHatred: The hate is not towards her, but to her favorite Rainbow Monkey toys as she constantly fails to see and listen that Numbuh 4 makes it ''very clear'' to her many times that he hates the toy franchise she adores so much yet she ''still'' thinks it's a good idea to take him to a Rainbow Monkey themed fair in "Operation: H.U.G.S." or getting him a Reindeer Monkey for Christmas in "Operation: N.A.U.G.H.T.Y." with the results always blowing up in her face every time.
* OcularGushers: Whenever she's crying.
* OfficialCouple: She marries Numbuh 4 by the end of the series, so obvious a spoiler tag isn't even needed.
* OnlyFriend: She's the only one willing to be friends with Numbuh 86.
* OppositesAttract: With Numbuh 4, the overly aggressive and masculine combat specialist who happens to hate her favorite toy franchise.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Though her signature colour is green, several of Numbuh Three's secondary outfits are pink, such as her swimsuit, her winter clothes and her party dress, tying in with her kind and cheerful GirlyGirl personality.
* ThePollyanna: Although the Christmas Episode reveals that her optimism is just for show.
* PrecisionFStrike: [[spoiler:Played utterly straight (it's bleeped out!) in the first post-countdown video of the [=GKND=] [=ARG=], reacting to TheReveal of Numbuh [=VINE=]'s identity as Lizzie.]]
-->'''Numbuh 3''': "''[[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Holy f**k.]]''"
* PrimAndProperBun: As an adult, she wears her hair in a bun.
%%* PuppyLove: With Numbuh Four.
* RidiculouslySuccessfulFutureSelf: The {{Cloudcuckoolander}} grows up to become [[spoiler:the CEO of the Rainbow Monkey Corporation.]]
* RunningGag: Trying to use the Hippy Hop mecha in battle never ends well.
* SayingTooMuch: Being TheDitz, she tends to blurt out more information than necessary at inopportune times.
** At the end of "Operation: S.P.A.N.K.", she accidentally blurts out that Sector V tricked Count Spankulot into spanking the judge and his wife to get him arrested, and that they previously also got him arrested by tricking him into spanking an innocent child. The episode ends with a furious Count Spankulot spanking Sector V in retaliation.
** In "Operation: H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.", Lizzie demands to know who Numbuh 10 is [[ClingyJealousGirl and why she's on vacation with Numbuh 1.]] Numbuh 2 quickly says that she's not important, but Numbuh 3 lets it slip that she's the leader of Sector L, the anchor of the Kids Next Door News Network, [[NotHelpingYourCase and the prettiest girl in the whole Kids Next Door]].
* StepfordSmiler: [[spoiler:As revealed in the final episodes of the series.]]
* TeamMom: To any animals she comes across, and occasionally to the team when Abby's not playing the role--in one episode, she even chews out Abby herself for [[AngerBornOfWorry endangering herself and worrying everyone.]]
-->'''Kuki:''' You gotta be crazy running around with the chicken pox! You'll catch the rooster pox and turn purple, silly! What are you, nuts?!
* TemporarilyAVillain: In "Operation: H.O.T.S.T.U.F.F." where she becomes a pyrokinetic and turned her house into an active volcano as a side effect of turning up the thermostat.
* TenderTears: When not OcularGushers, she cries small tears.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Her favorite snack is popcorn, as shown in "No P in the Ool", "Operation: S.L.U.M.B.E.R." and "Operation: P.L.A.N.E.T."
* {{Tsundere}}: Type B (deredere), meaning she's very sweet and cute... unless someone (usually [[TooDumbToLive Numbuh 4]]) pisses her off.
* TurnOutLikeHisFather: Or rather "Turns Out Like Her Mother". While its live-action, her dress and mannerisms as an adult are the spitting image of her mother.
* UnstoppableRage: When she goes into Demon Mode, putting on a terrifying GameFace and becomes a PintSizedPowerhouse, able to outfight someone like Mr. Boss ''by herself''.
* UptownGirl: It's pretty subtle but compared to Wally, Kuki clearly comes from the more financially affluent family of the two with having successful parents (or at least a mother, who is the Head of Accounting at work), and her family lives in a fairly large house with a nice interior while Wally and his family resides in a much smaller house located in a more rundown neighborhood that is next to some electricity pylons. His father also had to start a second job so they could afford to have a pool. It is noted however that they are not necessarily rich and poor respectively, but more along the lines of upper-middle class and lower-middle class.
* VerbalTic: She likes to sing "la la la la la" to herself whenever she's happy.
* VocalEvolution: She starts out with a slight Japanese accent, but sounded more and more American as the series went on.
* WeNeedADistraction: Specializes in this when not being TheMedic.
* WideEyedIdealist: She looks on the bright side quite frequently, to the extent of blind optimism.
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: With Numbuh 4 when [[spoiler:Lizzie accidentally reveals what she actually is]].
* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Numbuh 4, a lot.

'''Numbuh Four''' / '''Wallabee Beatles''' (Wally)

->'''Voiced by: Creator/DeeBradleyBaker'''[[labelnote:In other languages]]Toshihiro Kaneda (Japanese), Creator/BenjaminRivera (Latin American Spanish)[[/labelnote]]

->''"Right, first I'll be cleaning your adult-lovin' prissy little clocks..."''

The team's [[TheBigGuy combat specialist]]. He's incredibly lacking in book smarts, but his combat prowess more than makes up for it. In his off time, he competes in adult disapproved sports.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Is called "Wally" when going by his real name.
* AfraidOfBlood: He faints at the mere sight of blood.
* AntiHero: He's a hot-blooded {{Jerkass}} who tends to bully other kids, but a good person nonetheless.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: In "Operation: G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S.", he turns into a yellow koala, presumably because he has blonde hair.
* ArchEnemy: The Toiletnator hates him and considers him his greatest enemy ever since Numbuh Four ruined his plan in "Operation: M.O.V.I.E.". The feeling isn’t mutual, since Numbuh Four, like everyone else, sees the Toiletnator as a pathetic joke.
* AwesomeAussie: At his best, he's an Australian kid who knows how to kick butt and take names.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: In a similar vein to Kuki, Wally is the youngest of the team in spite of his aggression due to how small he is.
* {{Badbutt}}: The team's designated badass whose hobbies include [[FrothyMugsOfWater drinking soda]] and participating in bully fights.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Numbuh 3. Many episodes actually show Numbuh 4 pissing Numbuh 3 off and then trying to make up with her.
* BerserkButton: "Don't. Ever. Call. Me. SQUIRT!!!"
* BigBrotherInstinct: He's protective towards his baby brother Joey. Best shown in Operation S.A.F.E.T.Y. when he goes ''ballistic'' when he assumes his little brother was bleeding (in actuality it was ketchup).
* TheBigGuy: Despite being the shortest in the group, he's without a doubt the strongest.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The little to Numbuh 2's big.
* BloodKnight: He cannot pass up a good fight. Even when he clearly should. He does, however, show reluctance to fight his own friends or family, such as when he found out that his next opponent at the bully fights was his own father, or when he ran into Numbuh 5 as a senior citi-zombie (though her taunting made him angry enough to change his mind).
* BoisterousBruiser: Just a touch more heavy on the boisterous than the bruiser. He isn't ''all'' talk, but his mouth tends to write checks that his fists can't cash. However, he has proven multiple times that he is very capable of kicking your ass in a fight.
* BookDumb: To the extent that he's almost illiterate, though [[spoiler:the DistantFinale reveals that he's earned multiple doctorates as an adult.]]
* BrainsAndBrawn: The Brawn to Numbuh 2's Brains, in the episodes they are paired up.
* BrattyHalfPint: At his worst, he can be a pretty insufferable kid.
* BreakTheHaughty: Usually when he tries to become TheLeader, his anger gets the best of him.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: He's violent and aggressive but cries ''very'' easily. His tandem OcularGushers with Numbuh Three in "Operation: F.E.R.A.L." is a good example.
* BrutalHonesty: Sometimes to the point of being ''too'' brutal, making Numbuh 3 cry. Usually, he feels bad about it afterwards and tries to make it up to her. In "Operation: B.U.T.T.", he hammers it in too hard that Numbuh 1 is quitting the team, causing her to burst into tears, so he gets out all her stuffed toys from her room to try and cheer her up.
* TheBully: Technically, former amateur bully; he rejected their offer to go pro and quit entirely for personal reasons later. (ItMakesSenseInContext, seriously.)
* ButtMonkey: As the team's hand-to-hand combat specialist, he's the most capable when it comes to physical fighting, but is the least intelligent KND operative as shown in several episodes, including "Operation: E.N.D.", "Operation: D.O.G.H.O.U.S.E.", "Operation: S.P.R.O.U.T.", and ''WesternAnimation/OperationZERO'', which leads to him being easily fooled, and usually selected for dangerous parts in missions.
* CannotSpitItOut: He has difficulty admitting his feelings for Numbuh 3.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He ''hates it'' when other guys show interest in Numbuh 3. [[spoiler:This persists into his adult life, as shown in the DistantFinale when he sees Numbuh 2 hugging Numbuh 3.]]
--> [[spoiler:"And would you mind hugging your own wife instead of ''mine!'']]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He can't even spell or count to 3, but he's remarkably cunning, and is definitely the best fighter in Sector V. Even when his memory was gone during "Operation E.N.D." he knocked out Numbuh 274 in one punch. He also single-handedly got the team past the dodgeball obstacle during their mission to find Leona in "Operation F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N.".
* CuteBruiser: Even more so than Numbuh 3, as he also appears to have SuperStrength.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: In "Operation: P.I.A.N.O." when Sector V is destroying a shipment of mind-control pianos by airlifting them out of a moving truck one by one and feeding them into a grinder, Numbuh 4 decides to speed things up by opening the truck doors while the truck is still driving, and promptly gets crushed by dozens of pianos sliding out the doors. The next time we see him, he's practically a BandageMummy.
* DramaticIrony: The Toilenator could be considered something of his ArchEnemy, but unknown to the both of them as revealed in the comic story "Operation: H.I.S.T.O.R.I.E.", he's Numbuh 4's long-lost uncle, a twin brother from his father's side of the family. Seems being dumb until [[LetsGetDangerous it's time to really let loose]] runs in the lineage.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Any rare moment he gets to be a leader, he becomes this. One scene in "Operation M.I.S.S.I.O.N." shows Numbuh 4 training a group of villains for bowling like boot camp, complete with even wearing a soldier's helmet. He was also a military general in "Operation W.H.I.T.E.H.O.U.S.E.".
* DubNameChange: He's known as ""El Güero" Torres" in the Latin American Spanish dub.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: He goes through this over and over again.
* DumbassHasAPoint:
** Occasionally, Numbuh 4's more brash and blunt thinking is actually more on-point than anyone else, even cutting to the thick of things when either everyone else was overthinking or oblivious to that angle. One case is when he's face to face with his [[EvilCounterpart negative self in charge of the Destructively Nefarious Kids]] and more-or-less dictator of the MirrorUniverse, where he immediately understands how opposites work without prior context besides fighting his friend's negative versions -- and points out that if he's an IdiotHero, his opposite self has to be a DirtyCoward.
** Another case, "Operation: L.O.C.K.D.O.W.N." has the team unwittingly trapped inside the treehouse with what's assumed to be Count Spankulot due to a massive high security lockdown. When Numbuh 2 brings up that there ''is'' the Quadruple Emergency Bypass Code designed specifically for their treehouse systems, it also comes with the caveat that only Numbuh 5 can use it -- and it's forbidden to be used, without any elaboration as to why. Numbuh 4 of all people is in the right to point out that this is utterly pointless and stupid to have, despite it being said in sheer panic. [[spoiler:He still gets spanked and turned into a vampire, because merely trying to convince Numbuh 5 to lift the lockdown "broke the rules" and got him targeted; the overly-extreme rules he criticizes doomed everyone but Numbuh 5.]]
** Though he soon gets DrunkWithPower while Numbah 1 is absent in "Operation: C.A.N.N.O.N.", the whole reason he wants to build the clam cannon is because within ''mere minutes'' of Numbah 1's departure, multiple villains begin to assault the treehouse, and the defenses are either inactive or inoperable because Numbah 1 would usually be responsible for said countermeasures (though Numbah 3 having tea with their missiles, not to mention the others generally deciding Numbah 1's absence meant they could slack off, didn't help). He was totally right to be angry at that situation; he simply went down the wrong path, deciding to build a clam cannon on a sarcastic remark from Numbah 5 instead of simply learning how to operate the existing defense systems.
* DumbBlonde: Perfect example of this. He has blonde hair and is practically illiterate
* DumbMuscle: He relies on brute strength and isn't too bright, though he has shown signs of hidden intelligence, such as he realized that he would not be able to use brute force to make a Rainbow Monkey leave the treehouse.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** In the series premiere, the Delightful Children call him "Wallace" instead of "Wallabee".
** In the pilot, he has no issues about swimming.
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Wallabee isn’t the most normal name to have, so he goes by “Wally”.
* EmbarrassingPyjamas: Subverted. He sleeps in a bright orange onesie (that more closely resembles a baby's) but no one gives him any grief over it. Probably because he'd lay the smackdown on them
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: His relationship with Numbuh 3 is obvious to everyone even when he tries to deny it.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Wally loves a good fight, but he draws a ''hard'' line at hurting the people he cares about.
** In "Operation: M.A.T.A.D.O.R.", he enjoyed beating up rabid adults in front of a cheering crowd, but was horrified when he saw that his next opponent was his own dad. It helps him realize he had been doing something that had been happening to ''real'' dads like his own, and goes out of his way to resolve the problem.
** In "Operation: Z.E.R.O." he refused to fight the zombified Numbuh 5. That is, until she called him the "weakest, shortest, dumbest, most chicken, big mouth squirt on the entire team".
* EyesOutOfSight: Very rarely do his eyes see the light of day. However, this was averted far more often in later seasons.
* FearlessFool: Sometimes, he'll try and fight someone much stronger than him or rush into battle without thinking about what to do.
* FirstNameBasis: In many situations, he addresses Numbuh 3 by "Kuki". This becomes a bit more common in later seasons.
* {{Flanderization}}: In the first two seasons, he wasn't exactly stupid, just very pigheaded with a tendency to do things without thinking them through. By the end of the series, he's borderline illiterate. [[spoiler:Though the last episode shows that he's grown up to get a medical degree from ''Harvard!'']]
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Choleric (short-tempered, aggressive, forceful, impulsive, and wants to be the leader)
* FourIsDeath: As the aforementioned team's resident BloodKnight, he is the one who ends up in combat a lot. He tends to be the unluckiest member of the group, yet has his happy moments. In perspective, he is the only member of the KND to not suffer a {{Gender Bender}}, except in his hand, (and manages to be the only male by the end of Operation F.U.T.U.R.E.) as well as [[spoiler:marrying the girl of his dreams.]]
* FutureBadass: In "Operation: F.U.T.U.R.E.", he's an old man helping boys fight back against the girls trying to hunt down and turn the boys into girls.
* GirlsHaveCooties: Despite his obvious crush on Numbuh 3, he finds anything girly and romantic gross, especially Rainbow Monkeys. In "Operation: M.O.V.I.E." when he's forced to watch a cheesy Rainbow Monkey movie, he acts like he's being tortured.
* GoodIsNotNice: While a member of the KND, he can still be a bully befitting his age.
* GoshDangItToHeck: His constant use of the word "Crud" qualifies as family-friendly swearing.
* HairTriggerTemper: Has a fuse [[IncrediblyLamePun as short as his height]].
* HappilyMarried: He is shown to end up married to Numbuh 3 in the future.
* HiddenDepths: He may be an IdiotHero, but he has his moments of outwitting people, especially in terms of his forte of combat. This tends to catch his enemies, and occasionally even his friends, completely off-guard. He's also got a penchant for being ''extremely good'' with things he actually cares about, and occasionally more of a GuileHero when it's a focus episode than the series usually gives him credit for.
* HotForTeacher: He has a little crush on his teacher Mrs. Thompson.
* HotBlooded: He is always eager to fight.
* IdiotHero: The one thing that you could say he and Numbuh 3 have in common is that they're both pretty dumb.
* {{Irony}}: A boy who hates everything girly, has a crush on the GirlyGirl of his unit.
* ItsPersonal: Says this when King Sandy kidnaps Numbuh 3 in "Operation: B.E.A.C.H.".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Numbuh 4 is the team's bravest, toughest, strongest, fiercest, wildest, most adventurous, dangerous, courageous, and the best fighter in Sector V. He is also the most impulsive, brash, hot-headed, arrogant, ignorant, and harshest of the team but he seems to genuinely care about his friends still, even showing a soft spot for Numbuh 3 and getting emotional when Numbuh 1 leaves to join the Galactic Kids Next Door.
* LandDownUnder: He was born in Australia and moved to the U.S. when he was little. He still has the accent and uses some of the country's slang.
* LeaderWannabe: He wants to be leader of Sector V and always tries to pounce on the opportunity when Nigel is absent for whatever reason. Unfortunately, he's terrible at being a leader, since the power goes straight to his head.
* LeeroyJenkins: Very often in combat will rush into battle without any strategy.
* LetsGetDangerous: In episodes where he's not the focus character, he's usually a complete IdiotHero that gets on his team's nerves or seems oblivious to the danger around him until he's already down. The cases where he gets to show his stuff thus become this trope. His focus episodes downplay this by his badassery being more in the spotlight as a regular thing. [[ButtMonkey Usually.]]
* {{Malaproper}}: Sometimes, usually when he tries to use complicated words.
* MeaningfulName: Wallabee ''Beatles'' -- four members of The Beatles [a.k.a. "The Fab Four"]. A wallaby is an Australian animal, fitting his heritage. Also, four is considered an unlucky number in Chinese culture and Wally is the unluckiest member of the group.
* TheNapoleon: He's the shortest in the group (the same height as Numbuh 84 and shorter than even Numbuh 363 and 83) and the one with the worst temper.
* NobleMaleRoguishMale: The Roguish Male to Numbuh 1's Noble Male.
* ObliviousToLove: He doesn't get why Numbuh 3 got so angry when he said he thinks romance is gross and would never fall in love with anyone. Funnily enough, the two get together, as shown below.
* OfficialCouple: With Numbuh 3. They're shown to be married as adults by the end of the series.
* OppositesAttract: With Numbuh 3, an endearing girl who can't get enough of Rainbow Monkeys.
* PapaWolf: Mess with his baby brother Joey, and you'll wish you were dealing with ''real'' wolves.
* PaperThinDisguise: In "Operation: S.L.U.M.B.E.R.", he successfully disguises himself as a girl to get into a girls-only secret mission (actually a slumber party) by wearing two fake braids and a tiny pink dress that doesn't even hide his trademark orange sweater.
* PrecociousCrush: He has a crush on his teacher Mrs. Thompson.
* ProneToTears: Despite putting on a tough front, he's actually very sensitive and gets upset ''very'' easily. He was left in tears when Numbuh 1 temporarily quit the team in "Operation: B.U.T.T.".
* PuppyDogEyes: Wally can give Kuki a run for her money in this department.
* PuppyLove: With Numbuh 3. [[spoiler:The two end up married by the finale.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Numbuh 2's blue.
* ReformedBully: Though it isn't shown too often, he tends to bully other kids and feels no remorse for it, even telling nerds it's their own fault for being bullying targets for being so nerdy. He even associates with other bullies at times and is well aware of many bullying techniques. However, he does not engage in bullying kids when he's with the rest of Sector V and there are limits to what he will do to fellow kids and is more than happy to attack other bullies if they cross the line.
* RidiculouslySuccessfulFutureSelf: Arguably even more ridiculous than Numbuh 3's. The BookDumb kid grows up to [[spoiler:get a medical degree from ''Harvard'' and marry the girl he allegedly doesn't like.]]
* SarcasmBlind: In "Operation: C.A.N.N.O.N.", he mistook Numbuh 5's [[DeadpanSnarker sarcasm]] as an idea for building a clam cannon, rather than a simple joke. As a result, he took his leadership far too seriously, leaving Numbuhs 2, 3, and 5 actually building a clam cannon for a sleepless night. [[spoiler:It turned out in poor quality which exploded once the DCFDTL activated it.]]
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: It's not pointed out specifically, but it's hard to not notice.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: In "Operation: M.A.U.R.I.C.E.", when Numbuh 2 objects to stopping a decommissioned Maurice from getting recruited by the Teen Ninjas, on the grounds that official KND rules forbid interfering with decommissioned operatives' lives, Numbuh 4's response is, "Who cares?! Maurice was our friend!" Numbuh 1 agrees.
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: In "Operation: F.U.T.U.R.E.", his future self tries to prevent the reign of Margie from turning most of the world's boys into girls.
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: To Numbuh 3. [[spoiler:Until the DistantFinale, where they are married.]]
* SmallNameBigEgo: When it comes to his schoolwork. He thinks he's a genius for making up new and unique ways of spelling the word "Hat".
* SuperDrowningSkills: Can't swim until "Operation: P.O.O.L.".
* TankGoodness: In the online game ''Protect and Swerve,'' he drives a tank with a mounted cannon called the A.T.O.M.M.I.C..
* TestosteronePoisoning: Numbuh 4 loves everything violent and/or manly. His idea of quality TV programming consists of muscular men grunting loudly and throwing extremely heavy objects off of tall buildings.
* TokenEvilTeammate: His love of violence, mischief, and overall aggressive nature marks him as this for the team. If there is an immoral activity or mischief happening, Numbuh Four can be counted on to engage in it. Not to mention his status as a capable amateur bully and active participation in Bully Fighting.
* TooDumbToLive: He's usually not bad enough to fall here but "Operation O.U.T.B.R.E.A.K." has him actively trying to eat something with coconut, something that causes a bad enough allergic reaction that KND scientists thought it was a virus symptom, and Numbuh 5 remarks that it's happened repeatedly.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Every season seems to make him dumber and dumber. From someone that wasn't the brightest bulb but could operate tech and drive vehicles if need be as well as put up a mean fight, to someone that gets sent to a fake moon and completely falls for all of the K.N.D.'s attempts to keep normal adults away from the real moon, ''despite regularly going to the Moonbase throughout his career.'' After a point, besides the occasional HiddenDepths, his fighting prowess is ''all'' he has.
* {{Tsundere}}: With regards to Numbuh 3. Heavy on the Tsun Tsun but his Dere Dere side shines through whenever he lets his guard down.
* UnskilledButStrong: Numbuh 4 isn't the brightest bulb in the box and mostly relies on brute force to get things done, but when there's ass-kicking to be done, he's the best man for the job.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Gender-inverted example: [[ShesNotMyGirlfriend Don't say they're dating]], but Numbuh Four is quick to jump to the defense of Numbuh 3, often pushing her out of the way of attacks and getting angered and threatening to beat someone up when she gets hurt or captured.
* WhatTheHellHero: Being reckless, aggressive, and short-tempered, he occasionally crosses a line that results in a scolding from one or more of his teammates, though he [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold always makes it right by the episode's end]].
** In "Operation: S.A.F.E.T.Y.", Hoagie scolds him for yelling at his baby brother. In the same episode, Wally himself gives one to the giant safety robot when he thinks the robot hurt his kid brother.
** In "Operation: M.A.T.A.D.O.R.", he gets an earful from the rest of Sector V for participating in bully fights where innocent adults are captured, pumped full of caffeine to turn them into hyper-aggressive "bulls", and then let loose in the arena to get beaten to a pulp. Wally doesn't listen to them until he finds out that the next opponent he has to fight [[OhCrap is his own dad]].
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He's very afraid of water. Even after he learns how to swim, he still avoids doing it whenever possible.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Numbuh 3.
* TheWorfEffect: First to charge in, often the first to go down.

->'''Voiced by: Creator/CreeSummer'''[[labelnote:In other languages]] Creator/ShuheiSakaguchi (Japanese), Ariadna Rivas (Latin American Spanish)[[/labelnote]]

->''"I like it when things are too easy."''

The team's [[TheLancer second-in-command]], she's the one that keeps a level head under all circumstances, even when everyone else loses it. In her spare time, she's a candy hunter, which brings her in conflict with her rival Heinrich and candy pirate Stickybeard.
----
* ActionGirl: She's a combat-oriented female, especially when up against Cree.
* AffectionateNickname: Is called "Abby" by her sister and others on occasion.
* AgentScully: Is usually skeptical toward Nigel's conspiracy theories and will often be wrong.
* BadassAdorable: Considering that she's just a kid, she can do pretty amazing stuff.
* BeautifulSingingVoice: She's shown to be a good singer in "Operation D.I.A.P.E.R.".
* BerserkButton: She has very little tolerance for Numbuh 2's puns.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: Dressed up in a suit once for a dance.
* BigGood: [[spoiler:In "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.", it is stated that she became Supreme Leader of the Kids Next Door after Numbuh 362 stepped down from her position.]]
* BirthdayHater: "Operation: M.A.U.R.I.C.E." reveals that she doesn't look forward to her birthdays, because every one brings her closer to becoming a teenager who will eventually have to be decommissioned and lose her memories of the KND.
* BlackAndNerdy: She is the only African-American in the group, and she does very well in school.
* BlueIsHeroic: She normally wears a blue minidress, and serves as TheLancer to Numbuh 1.
* BraidsOfAction: She has long black hair which she keeps in a braid.
* BrainyBrunette: Not only is she the smartest of her team, but one of the smartest students at Gallagher Elementary School, where she is a honor student.
* BreakoutCharacter: She went from speaking a few lines (outside of ADayInTheLimelight) in the first season to being pretty much the secondary main character by the time the series ended.
* BringIt: Her trademark pose.
* ButNotTooForeign: She's half-French, half-American. For the record, both her parents are black, so the trope goes for her ethnicity and not her race.
* CainAndAbel: The Abel to Cree's Cain.
* TheChainsOfCommanding: Well aware of this trope as Sector V's former leader, hence her decision to relinquish leadership of Sector V when Numbuh 1 was inducted into the KND. Even afterwards she detests being the idea of being leader again and readily refuses unless no other replacements are available.
* CoDragons: Serves a [[InvertedTrope Heroic instance]] of this trope with Numbuh 2, as both act as TheLancer to Numbuh 1.
* CoolBigSis: She has her moments, but especially "Operation: D.O.G.H.O.U.S.E.".
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She has a lot of tragic baggage in her past, from her sister having a FaceHeelTurn to [[NoodleIncident whatever happened that made Numbuh 1 bald]], which may or not be the ''incident'' that even [[{{Jerkass}} Numbuh 86]] sympathizes with. That's not even getting into her past with Heinrich.
* DeadpanSnarker: Speaks the most sarcasm of her friends.
* DopeSlap: Gives these to Numbuhs 2 and 4 (usually with her hat) if the former makes bad puns or if the latter does something stupid like thinking having all adults (good and bad) wiped out being a good thing.
* DubNameChange: She is known as "Abigail Olivera" in the Latin American Spanish dub.
* EnforcedColdWar: With Cree; both of them have to keep up the act of two loving sisters at home while pointing lasers at each other beneath the dinner table.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As a member of the KND, she will happily fight child-hating and child-oppressing adults, but even she realizes that ''all'' adults shouldn't be wiped out. She also will freely fight the teenage menace in open warfare, even with her own sister she does care for, but draws the line at messing with their social events; when the Kids Next Door pulled out some nasty facial-ruining viruses just to spite the teens for prom night, Abby promptly took the antidote to her sister Cree while saying she tried to tell them even they went too far.
* EyeObscuringHat: Her baseball cap is usually tilted downward so that the brim obscures her eyes.
* ForcedTransformation: [[spoiler:Turned into a were-dog in "Operation D.O.G.H.O.U.S.E." by Mrs. Thompson.]]
* FriendlyEnemy: To Stickybeard and Heinrich Von Marzipan, though the latter isn't very friendly to her.
* FriendToAllChildren: To all younger children anyway, being still a kid herself, but still has shown a few times to be good with giving comforting pep talk to the younger kids she meets.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Leukine (calm, rational, level-headed, and more emotionally balanced than her teammates)
* IdiotBall: In the cold opening to "Operation: C.A.R.A.M.E.L.", she goes to Guatemala and finds Heinrich attempting the caramel ritual again. He claims he's only trying to get back what he lost the last time and needs her help to move some sugar into the ritual circle. Knowing him and how vindictive he can be (''especially'' [[BerserkButton when it comes to Guatemala]]), you'd think Numbuh 5 would be on her guard even more than usual here. But with very little hesitation, she believes him and walks right into his trap, falling victim to the caramel curse herself which kicks off the episode. We even learn later that [[spoiler:Numbuh 5 had the very item Heinrich needed to undo his curse and already knew the true way to break it]].
* IndyEscape: Her candy-hunting adventures are pretty much a huge ShoutOut to ''Franchise/IndianaJones'' flicks, so she pulls these a lot.
* ItsAllMyFault: While she never outright says it, it's obvious that [[spoiler:she blames herself for what the DCFDTL did to Nigel in the past, as it was her not helping him when he needed her most that resulted in them leaving him permanently bald]].
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:To Numbuh 2 in the future.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: In ''WesternAnimation/OperationZERO''
* HiddenDepths: In ''Operation M.A.C.A.R.R.O.N.I'', when Numbuh Three laments that she wasn't able to save the Rainbow Monkey Lisa, Numbuh Five comforts her and says she can make another one, which suggests that she has an artistic talent.
* {{Jetpack}}: Uses one in "Operation: C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E." and "Operation: C.L.O.W.N.".
* LadyOfAdventure: When she's candy hunting.
* TheLancer: Numbuh 1's second in command and interim leader whenever he's not around. Her style contrasts with his, being more easygoing when there's no threat and more no-nonsense when there is.
* LittleMissBadass: One of the most action-prone girls in the show.
* LittleMissSnarker: She's got a snappy comeback ready for just about any situation.
* MaliciousMisnaming: Is called "Crabigail" by [[BigSisterBully Cree]] or [[AcademicAlphaBitch Valerie]].
* MeaningfulName: Abigail ''Lincoln'' -- has the same initials and last name as U.S. President Abraham Lincoln (A.L.), whose face is on the five-dollar bill in American currency.
* MementoMacGuffin:
** Her trademark hat was given to her by her older sister, Cree -- back when she was a KND operative.
** In "Operation: C.A.R.A.M.E.L." it is revealed that she kept [[WeUsedToBeFriends Heinrich's]] [[spoiler:last caramel [[NoodleIncident from Guatemala]] on a necklace hidden beneath her shirt. She was waiting to return it to him if he ever learned to share his candy (as breaking the curse he was under required him to give the caramel to someone else).]] In the meantime it served as a poignant reminder of their former friendship... especially because [[spoiler:an image of [[GenderBender Heinrich's true form as Henrietta]] was visible within.]]
** [[spoiler:In the final episode, Numbuh 1 gives her his sunglasses before he leaves to join the Galactic Kids Next Door.]]
* MightyGlacier: In the online game ''Protect and Swerve,'' she drives a tank called the T.A.R.T.; the slowest vehicle, but with the strongest armor.
* MinidressOfPower: Abigail wears a white-striped dark blue shirt dress.
* MyGreatestFailure:
-->'''Numbuh 5:''' The last time Numbuh 5 didn't help someone kidnapped by the Delightful Children, they did something she can't ''ever'' forgive!\
'''Numbuh 4:''' What?! What did they do that was so bad?!\
'''Numbuh 1:''' ...[[WhamLine They made me bald.]]
* MyGreatestSecondChance: Seeing her DarkAndTroubledPast as an opportunity to save a student from the Delightful Children.
* MySignificanceSenseIsTingling:
-->'''Numbuh 5:''' Something just happened. It's as if million of gallons of ice cream just... disappeared.
* NeverBareHeaded: She is almost never seen without her baseball cap. When not having it on, she usually hits people or things with it.
* NoodleIncident: It's mentioned in passing in one episode that Numbuh 5 was once leader of Sector V. She stepped down from the position after some incident, but we never find out why. Other bits point that she couldn't take the stress of full on leadership [[spoiler: and that perhaps she accidentally made Nigel the way he is today. She nearly has a panic attack when Nigel reinstates her as leader before he leaves for his galactic mission. He reassures her she always had what it took to lead the group. Considering she would later take over the role of commanding the entire K.N.D., he wasn't kidding.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** During a mission, [[DumbMuscle Numbuh 4]] stops to take some candies. Later, she tries to do the same.
** Despite being the most mature of her teammates, she has her share of childish moments, like when she teases Numbuh 4 over [[EveryoneCanSeeIt his crush on Numbuh 3]].
-->'''Numbuh 4:''' They've made this personal by taking Numbuh 3!
-->'''Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 2:''' ''(smirk at each other)'' Wally and Kuki sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:With Numbuh 2.]]
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:The last line of the G:KND teaser is her reaction to finding out what Numbuh 1 is planning to do to the Earth.]]
-->'''Abby:''' [[spoiler:''(quietly, in a completely stunned voice)'' Nigel Uno...''what have you done?'']]
* OneManArmy: Proves she's this in ''Operation M.A.U.R.I.C.E'' when she takes down an entire teenager fleet of ships by herself while infected with Chickenpox by using a handful of explosives.
* OnlySaneEmployee: To Numbuh 1.
* OnlySaneWoman:
** Like Nigel puts it in the finale, while he's freaking out about floating parasitic vermin from the sky, she will tell him it's just snow.
** This is particularly the case in ''[[WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy The Grim Adventures of]] [[{{Crossover}} The Kids Next Door]]'', where she is the ''only'' person in the entire organization who isn't fooled for a second by Mandy's Numbuh 1 [[PaperThinDisguise disguise]].
* OppositesAttract: [[spoiler:With Numbuh 2.]]
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Numbuh 1.
* PrecociousCrush: Numbuh 5 obviously has a crush on Maurice/Numbuh 9 though he's only about a year or two older than her.
* TheQuietOne: Especially in earlier seasons, where she would sometimes go entire episodes without a single line.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Numbuh 1's red.
* SassyBlackWoman: She's very sarcastic, as well as the only black girl in the group.
* ShesAManInJapan: Due to being voiced by Shūhei Sakaguchi in the Japanese dub, no less!
* ShipperOnDeck: Ships Wally and Kuki, and frequently, along with Numbuh 2, teases Wally when he gets jealous.
* TheSnarkKnight: Though is obviously nicer than most examples of this trope.
* SweetTooth: All the kids are, but only Numbuh 5 would risk her life in search of legendary sweets. She even has a kinship with Stickybeard.
* TeamMom: Numbuh 5 has a motherly side to her and acts like a big sister figure to most of her teammates throughout the show.
-->'''Numbuh 1:''' ''(extremely tired, but still trying to stay awake)'' I just have to recalibrate the bioptic...
-->'''Numbuh 5:''' ''(dragging Numbuh 1 to his bedroom)'' Only thing you're recalibrating is your sleep schedule!
* ThirdPersonPerson: To go along with her cool personality, she refers to herself as "Numbuh 5" in third person, saying "Numbuh 5" rather than "I" most of the time.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: She will never forgives the Delightful Children for making Numbuh 1 bald.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Has this dynamic with her sister Cree, taking in account their home's bedrooms. Cree has loads of pink stuff in contrast to Abby's more sports-oriented decor.
* TomboyishBaseballCap: Doubles as a MementoMacGuffin.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's more boyish than Numbuh 3 several times over, but she also doesn’t have a problem most of the time with wearing a dress or getting her nails done. She's also frequently seen reading fashion magazines in her spare time.
* TragicKeepsake:
** Her red hat was given to her by her older sister Cree when they were in the KND together. Considering [[TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry their current relationship,]] it serves as a sad reminder of the happy times they used to have together.
** In "Operation: C.A.R.A.M.E.L." it is revealed that she kept [[WeUsedToBeFriends Heinrich's]] [[spoiler:last caramel [[NoodleIncident from Guatemala]] on a necklace hidden beneath her shirt. She was waiting to return it to him if he ever learned to share his candy (as breaking [[GenderBender the curse he was under]] required him to give the caramel to someone else).]]
** [[spoiler:In "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.", Nigel gives her his sunglasses before he leaves to join the Galactic KND, representing her position as the new leader of Sector V.]]
* TwoferTokenMinority: French and African.
* VocalDissonance: She's a young girl who speaks with a cool gravelly voice; Creator/CreeSummer primarily based it on Creator/ScatmanCrothers.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: She and Cree had a much better sister relationship when the latter was a member of the KND.
* WiseBeyondHerYears: Numbuh 5 is described as the intelligent, laid-back, witty, quick-thinking, cool, calm, crafty, clever, responsible, book wise, and streetwise agent of Sector V and the only one with true common sense.
