The Green Clan, led by Hisui Nagare. On its surface, JUNGLE appears to be an ordinary social networking website. Members of JUNGLE complete missions in order to gain points in order to go up ranks and gain temporary powers. Those who reach the highest rank (J-rank) get to meet the King in order to gain permanent powers. Given the nature of the clan, it's technically the largest of all the clans. However, most of the members are merely pawns to help carry out the clan's actual agenda.

[[folder:General]]

* AllThereInTheManual: The pasts of the J-rankers and Hisui are expounded on in the side manga K: Dream of Green.
* FantasticRankSystem: The ranking system of JUNGLE is named after the letters of its name, with new accounts starting as E-rank, then going from L, to G, all the way up to J-rank. Those below J-rank are pretty much {{Mooks}} granted temporary powers while the J-rank members are the actual members of the clan with permanent powers.
* LethalHarmlessPowers: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] but considering the age of the Slate as it was only discovered in the last hundred years, in the past the Green Aura wouldn't have been so powerful as it is in modern time with all the modern devices and the internet running on electricity.
* MeaningfulName: The Green clan has members all over the city, like a jungle spreading its roots everywhere.
* {{Mooks}}: Unlike the other clans, the majority of the clan is essentially composed of these due to its hierarchy.
* ShockAndAwe: All members of the Clan have this by default. The low-rankers gain electricity powers through their [=PDAs=].
* YouHaveFailedMe: Failing a mission is grounds for losing your powers, as one failed assassin finds out when Kuroh and Neko confront him no worse for wear.

The Fifth and Green King.
----
* AffablyEvil: He is very polite to [[spoiler: Shiro, whom he deeply respects, and even to Anna during their showdown in Episode 7. It doesn't extend to Munakata however during their SnarkToSnarkCombat.]]
* AgentPeacock: He's an effeminate young man and even wears dresses, but you shouldn't mess with him.
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler: He gets this shortly before his death, remembering himself and his closest clansmen spending time together like a family.]]
* AntiVillain: Alongside the rest of JUNGLE, Nagare leads them on a quest to [[spoiler:unleash the power of the Dresden Slate upon all of mankind, bestowing them all with power and giving them the strength to live to their full potential]].
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He is declared to be one of the strongest of the seven Kings such as [[spoiler: being able to stand on the same level as the Gold King in combat when he was just 15 years old. The purpose of the Coffee Table Alliance which consists of three Kings and their clans was formed to solely stop Nagare and his J-rankers from taking the Slate.]]
* BigBadDuumvirate: The commander of the antagonistic Green Clan in TheMovie, as well as the second season, where he operates alongside [[spoiler:Iwafune, the Grey King]].
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: WordOfGod is that he doesn't really remember Fushimi [[spoiler: despite having put effort into traumatizing and driving him away from Misaki -- and thus HOMRA -- so he could recruit him, even making sure his JUNGLE account stays open.]] Arguably, it ties into his ManChild nature: he didn't win him, so decided that he wasn't worth it and pretends it never happened.
* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler: He was the one behind the chaos caused by the Colourless King by giving him the fox mask and suggesting that he toy with the other Kings.]]
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: As a child, after Iwafune fits him with his PowerLimiter straightjacket, the latter concerns the situation may have him MistakenForPedophile, Nagare meanwhile innocently questions his concern, only commenting he's happy with the perfect fit.
* DarkLordOnLifeSupport: [[spoiler: His body technically died in the Kagutsu Incident due to a rock smashing his heart, but his powers keep him alive. Naturally, once the Slate is destroyed by Shiro and his powers are gone, he dies.]]
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Nagare is shockingly pale [[spoiler:possibly hinting at his only being kept alive by his powers after the Kagutsu Crater Incident destroyed his actual heart]].
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: While very much an AntiVillain as far as {{Big Bad}}s go, Nagare adores his family in the Green Clan and [[spoiler:in his final moments, thinks of the time they spent together]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Befitting of a WellIntentionedExtremist doing what he believes is best for humanity, Iwafune comments to him that they have made a point of evacuating civilians in preparation for [[spoiler:their final battle with the Coffee Table Alliance]].
* EvilCounterpart: To [[spoiler:Shiro]]. Both of them are brilliant individuals who survived through a great disaster thanks to their powers as Kings, and they both have TrueCompanions that act like a substitute family for them. However, Nagare wants to [[spoiler: use the Slate to give everyone superpowers, thinking that it would stop disasters like the Kagatsu Crater]]; while Shiro [[spoiler: comes to realize that the Slate is too dangerous and destroys it, coming to the conclusion that TrueCompanions are more important.]]
* EvilutionaryBiologist: Nagare intends to [[spoiler:take the Slate's power so that all of mankind can "evolve" with greater power, believing he is helping everyone reach the point of evolution they're meant to attain]].
* EyeColourChange: He has blue eyes, but his left eye turns green when he releases his full power.
* FondMemoriesThatCouldHaveBeen: [[spoiler: With Shiro's Sword of Damocles coming down on the Slate, and Hisui desperate to kill him before that happens, Nagare finds himself questioning how HAKUMAITOU is pushing him back. It's then that their bond reminds him of his own bond with the J-rankers of his clan, leading him to realize that Neko and Shiro were right about TrueCompanions being more important than the power of the Dresden Slate, just before the Slate is destroyed, taking away his powers and his life.]]
* TheGlovesComeOff: After [[spoiler:Shiro]] rejects his offer at the end of Episode 5, Nagare states he will no longer be holding back and declares war on the other clans.
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:He dies with a smile on his face, claiming to feel satisfied even though his plan was foiled.]]
* HeartTrauma: [[spoiler: He lost his heart in the Kagutsu Crater with a rock supposedly smashing into his chest. The only reason he's still alive is because his powers are used to sustain his body.]]
* HidingBehindYourBangs: His bangs cover the left side of his face. It's to hide his left green eye.
* HourOfPower: He's powerful enough to evenly match the Gold King, but he can only maintain his power for a limited time. [[spoiler: This is because he lost his heart in the Kagatsu Crater and the bulk of his power is used to sustain his life.]]
* KansasCityShuffle: Attacking Mihashira Tower seemingly recklessly, Nagare burns through his power as he assaults, rendered helpless as he approaches Resei... only to reveal he cleared the path for Iawfune to attack and [[spoiler:allow them to steal the Slate]].
* LimitedWardrobe: Nagare is always seen wearing a straitjacket till the end of Episode 7 because [[spoiler: it's what keeps his powers in check.]] Afterward when [[spoiler: Nagare is connected to the Slate, he wears what looks like a dress-skirt ensemble. ShrugOfGod states Iwafune may have made Nagare's clothes for him.]]
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Implied to be this for Iwafune considering that [[spoiler: after the loss of Iwafune's entire clan, taking care of Nagare was what helped Iwafune deal with the massive loss and his failure as the Grey King to protect the weak. After Nagare is killed, Iwafune has nothing left and chooses to die with Nagare.]]
* LivingOnBorrowedTime: [[spoiler:Nagare would have died when his heart was destroyed. He's only alive because his powers as the Green King are working as a replacement.]]
* TheManBehindTheMan: Both the manga and second season reveal that [[spoiler:Nagare was the mastermind behind the Colorless King's rampage, having provided him with the plan and body to swap with Adolf K. Weismann's in the first place]].
* ManipulativeBastard: In ''K: The First'' manga, [[spoiler: he is shown to suggest to the Colorless King through Kotosaka to toy with the other Kings and assigns missions to JUNGLE to target Kuroh and Neko to lure out their King.]]
* MythicalMotifs: WordOfGod states that in Episode 7, Nagare is supposed to resemble a fallen angel.
* NothingCanStopUsNow: While he's still smart enough to station his clan as guards and predict the main gate will be open, he still makes the mistake of assuming that he's invincible now that the Slate is fully released and that nothing can stop his plan once it reaches its final stages.
* PowerDyesYourHair: His hair changes from dark green to white when he unleashes his full power.
* PowerLimiter: His wheelchair and his straitjacket seem to be limiters for his true power as a King.
* PsychopathicManchild: Despite his smarts and everything, his entire plan is that of a child and a lot of his actions and reactions to things speak of a child as well.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler: Of the Kagatsu Crater event caused by the Damocles Down of Genji Kagatsu. Subverted as Neko and Kotosaka also survived.]]
* TheStoic: He rarely shows any emotions or such. An extra story reveals that it's a trait he inherited from his family.
* ThrowingOffTheDisability: He stands up from his wheelchair and unleashes his true power when it's time for battle.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler: With Iwafune.]]
* VisionaryVillain: He believes that unleashing the Slate is the solution to all problems as [[spoiler: the reason the Kagatsu Crater caused hundreds of deaths was because nobody had the power equal to the former Red and Blue Kings to survive. The only reason he survived was because he was chosen as the Green King and came to this reasoning after watching everyone around him be brutally killed.]]
--> '''Hisui''': What people needed in order to live was power. The world Adolf K. Weismann once dreamed of was sure to be a beautiful place, opening up a brand new living space where, through the power of the Slate, no irrationality, forced control, discrimination or suffering would exist.
* WeCanRuleTogether: He offers this to the [[spoiler: Silver King: Shiro]], who rejects the offer.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: His dream is to [[spoiler: unleash the Slate's full potential to enable all humans to have power and not just Kings and clansmen.]]

A Clansman of the Green Clan. He was the former vassal of the deceased Seventh King, Ichigen Miwa, as well as Kuroh Yatogami's senior and brother figure.
----
* AgentPeacock: He is obsessed with beautiful things, wears lip gloss and nail polish, used to have a room full of perfumes, and skin care products and speaks in a rather effeminate manner. He is also a powerful swordsman with powers of both the former Colorless King and the Green King.
* BadassLongcoat: He's a top-ranking member of JUNGLE and wears a leather longcoat to look fabulous.
* BigBrotherMentor: He was this to Kuroh in the past. [[spoiler: Even now, he seems to still want him to succeed and surpass him. In Season 2 Yukari is implied to be this to Sukuna, with him getting along well with Sukuna and Sukuna looking up to him.]]
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Kuroh's Abel. They once considered each other brothers, but now they are enemies. [[spoiler: Though Yukari ultimately still cares for Kuroh and Kuroh decides to spare him at the end.]]
* DanceBattler: He looks like he's dancing in all his fight scenes.
* DissonantSerenity: He shows no qualms about fighting Kuroh, always keeps his cool and is usually smiling. [[spoiler: He does lose his cool temporarily in the final chapter of the ''Dream of Green'' manga, where he yells at Sukuna to snap out of denying Nagare's death and face the reality that JUNGLE has lost.]]
* TheDragon: He's Nagare's most powerful Clansman and the heroes' most challenging foe after Nagare.
* DueToTheDead: A few days after the finale of Season 2, Yukari, Sukuna and Kotosaka visit [[spoiler: what remains of JUNGLE's hideout. Yukari throws down a bouquet of purple hydrangea, asking Iwafune and Nagare if their journey together was enjoyable.]]
* EvilCounterpart: To Kuroh. They're both swordsmen trained by Ichigen Miwa. While Kuroh now follows a King who protects order, Yukari follows the Green King who has more chaotic methods and goals.
* GenderBlenderName: Yukari is a very feminine Japanese name. Lampshaded in Season 2 when his name makes Kukuri think his challenge note to Kuroh is a love note.
* HairIntakes: His hair has a pair of what look like cat ears.
* MasterSwordsman: He's good enough to wipe the floor with the Gold clansmen in his first appearance and be the first character who isn't a King to give Kuroh trouble. [[spoiler: Kuroh defeats him in the Season 2 finale, but WordOfGod states it was a narrow victory.]]
* MysteriousPast: Nothing before his past joining Ichigen has been revealed.
* OlderThanHeLooks: He's actually 30 years old while looking like he's only in his twenties. It's likely because he takes such good care of his complexion using beauty products.
%%* PurpleIsPowerful
* SissyVillain: A powerful clansman of the Green King and incredibly flamboyant. He's busy putting on a facial mask and looking himself in the mirror searching for wrinkles as his King explains his plans.
* StudentAndMasterTeam: With Miwa Ichigen in the past as seen in a flashback and after the finale of Season 2 [[spoiler: with Sukuna which WordOfGod confirms.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: He threatened to kill Kuroh when he got in the way of Yukari fighting Ichigen, and was willing to attack Anna when she became the new Red King.

Hisui's medium through he speaks through.
----
* ActionPet: Kotosaka is Nagare's first clansman and is shown to have enough power to be able to fight and destroy Neko's illusions.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In the third chapter of ''Dream of Green'', Iwafune states that he hopes Kotosaka lives a long and healthy life since Kotosaka was Nagare's first clansman and that the first clansman should stick by his King's side till the end. Come Episode 13, [[spoiler: Kotosaka is by Nagare's side till the Slate is destroyed and Nagare passes away.]]
* {{Mascot}}: To JUNGLE, so much so that an animated version of him appears as the guide on their website. Bomb plushies are even made in his image.
* ParrotPetPosition: Rides on Yukari's shoulder most of the time on missions. At JUNGLE's secret base, he seems to spend a lot of time on Nagare's shoulder.
* SayMyName: He calls Nagare's name several times [[spoiler: after Nagare collapses and passes away in the season finale.]]
* TeamPet: Despite being a parrot, Kotosaka is a Green King's clansman and is treated as a member of the J-rankers, mainly acting as Nagare's communicator.
* UpliftedAnimal: Kotosaka is stated to have intelligence equal to a human due to being a bird who became a King's Clansman.
* WillingChanneler: His role is letting Nagare use him as a living communication device by channeling his thoughts.

A U-ranked JUNGLE clansman. She was captured by Fushimi at the end of the movie and ever since then has been held prisoner in Scepter 4's prison cells. She finally appears in Episode 9 when Fushimi busts her out of prison.
----
* AdvertisedExtra: Despite appearing on several posters and the main visual, she doesn't actually show up in Season 2 until Episode 9 and we get nothing about her past even in the manga covering the Green Clan's backstories.
* GratuitousNinja: Which is [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] by Munakata.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Only works for JUNGLE to get paid and it has been stated she has no loyalty to the Green King. [[spoiler: This makes it easy for Fushimi to recruit her in order to get enough points to get to J-rank in JUNGLE within a month.]]
* SamusIsAGirl: When she first shows up in the movie, her ninja-like outfit obscures her gender. Yata is very shocked to discover the enemy he beat up and struggled against is a girl.
* TheStoic: Nothing seems to phase her and she remains calm and composed no matter the situation.

A high-ranking member of JUNGLE who worked his way up after running away from home and is currently 13 years old.
----
* AdultHater: He was raised by adults who were controlling and manipulative, causing Sukuna to hate and distrust adults.
* BadassAdorable: He's a 13-year-old boy, who is described to be as proficient in battle with his scythe as Yukari is with Ayamachi.
* BadassLongcoat: He wears a black longcoat that can make even a kid like him look cool.
* BrattyHalfPint: Iwafune gets the brunt of this. The one person Sukuna does not talk back to is Nagare.
* BreakTheHaughty: It is implied that [[spoiler: the deaths of Nagare and Iwafune, along with the end of JUNGLE and his defeat at the hands of Fushima and Yata, has mellowed him out a bit since he is seen crying at the end and later not only eating with Yukari, but briefly interacting with Anna.]]
* TheBrute: Out of Nagare's top Clansmen, Sukuna enjoys fighting the most and has the most aggressive fighting style.
* DeclarationOfProtection: To Nagare in ''Dream of Green'' after Nagare says that if Saruhiko is a traitor he will entrust the task of dealing with Saruhiko to Sukuna. [[spoiler: Sadly it does not end well.]]
* ImprobableAge: He's already one of JUNGLE's top rankers at age 13.
* LonelyRichKid: ''Dream of Green'' reveals Sukuna came from a wealthy, but highly manipulative family that heavily controlled their son. They monitored and selected the 'friends' Sukuna would mix with and dispose of a stray cat Sukuna wanted to raise, replacing it with a 'proper' one.
* LostPetGrievance: When he was younger, he took a stray cat home to take care of it. His parents disposed of it and replaced with a pedigree cat, to Sukuna's anger.
* MetaGuy: He likes to speak in video game terms and refers to his opponents as "mini-bosses" or "final bosses".
* PintSizedPowerhouse: He's 153 cm (5'0") tall, but he's one of JUNGLE's best fighters.
* RemovingTheRival: To [[spoiler:Fushimi.]] Sukuna's shown to be jealous over Nagare praising him and beating Sukuna's record. In Episode 10 Sukuna challenges [[spoiler:Fushimi to a fight]] and in Episode 11 when [[spoiler: Fushimi's true motives are revealed, Sukuna is far too eager to fight Fushimi.]]
* TheRunaway: His parents were emotionally abusive {{Control Freak}}s. When he couldn't stand living under their strict rules anymore, Sukuna ran away from home and joined JUNGLE.
* SelfMadeMan: Sukuna ran away from home at the age of 11 and survived then on his own till he reached J-rank in JUNGLE.
* SinisterScythe: His weapon is a staff that produces a scythe's blade made from Sukuna's power of changing.
* SlasherSmile: Commonly makes these whilst fighting.
* TokenMiniMoe: Most of JUNGLE's J rankers are adult men, except for Sukuna who is a short 13-year-old boy.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: He's only thirteen, yet he's very willing to fight Nagare's enemies.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: He's not evil, but he's still one of the antagonists in the second season and has silver hair.

A high-ranking member of JUNGLE.
----
* AffablyEvil: He's a friendly, chatty, respectful guy and this extends even into combat when he tries to kill his opponents.
* TheAlcoholic: Not surprising, after we see the nonsense he has to put up with the other J-rankers. While it's PlayedForLaughs, it's HarsherInHindsight when a possible reason is [[spoiler: after the loss of his entire clan and the ruin of his ideals, Iwafune may have resorted to drinking often to reduce the pain.]]
* AntiVillain: Iwafune despises the helplessness he saw when [[spoiler:the Kagutsu Incident wiped out so many innocent lives and now plots alongside Nagare to use the Slate to empower everyone so that will at least be able to fight their fate]].
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: [[spoiler: He's the Grey King, and he can easily defeat Reisi.]]
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite presenting himself as the guy who keeps JUNGLE's hideout clean, drinks a lot and bitches when he's brought the wrong cleaning supplies, Iwafune is in fact [[spoiler:the Grey King and a powerful combatant to the point he can take down Resei after Nagare runs out of power]].
* BigBadDuumvirate: He's initially presented just another J-rank in JUNGLE, but the reveal that [[spoiler: he's the Grey King]] plants him in this territory.
* BreakingSpeech: Delivers one to Resei after [[spoiler:revealing himself as the Grey King, making the latter question everything he believes about a King's power and how they alone should be the protectors of humanity]].
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Iwafune is the silly, alcoholic choresman of JUNGLE but in reality he's [[spoiler:the Grey King and every bit as involved in the plan to bestow the Dresden Slate's powers to humanity as Nagare is and dangerous to boot. When he activates his powers he's able to fend off Resei as a distraction while the Slate is stolen]].
* TheCaretaker: Ever since Nagare became the Green King, Iwafune has looked after all his personal needs because of Nagare's condition preventing him from moving or even eating by himself.
* TheChessmaster: Not as upfront as Nagare but it was Iwafune who [[spoiler:took the boy in and hid him for nearly 15 years while the plotted to steal the Slate for their end game]].
* CradleOfLoneliness: [[spoiler:The last scene the viewer has of him and Nagare is Iwafune cradling Nagare's body.]]
* CynicismCatalyst: [[spoiler: The Kagutsu incident and the loss of his entire clan put a huge damper on his former idealism.]]
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: Zigzagged, while seemingly just cooking the meals for his teammates, after [[spoiler:Nagare runs out of power and leaves Iwa to fight Resei, the latter hypothesizes that Iwa is the true secret mastermind of JUNGLE. Iwa refutes his claims but it's revealed that he, along with Nagare, jointly rules the clan]].
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: After Nagare dies, Iwafune follows him by setting off explosives in the secret base to bury them under the debris.]]
* FakingTheDead: [[spoiler: He's actually the Grey King, who allegedly died in the Kagutsu Crater incident. In reality, he went into hiding with Nagare after finding him in the aftermath of the crater's destruction.]]
* TheGunslinger: He likes shooting at range, but he does know GunFu.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Downplays his abilities while [[spoiler:fighting Resei the first time so JUNGLE can steal the Dresden Slate]].
* KingIncognito: [[spoiler: He's the Grey King, but passes himself off as a mere clansman of JUNGLE.]]
* TheManBehindTheMan: Resei speculates that Iwa is the true secret mastermind of JUNGLE, though Iwa refutes the claim humbly. In actuality, he shares the role from the shadows, in a BigBadDuumvirate with Nagare as the [[spoiler:Grey King]].
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:Seemingly felled by the Blue Clan, Iwafune really lives to collect Nagare's body, dying with his adoptive son.]]
* OminousFog: He can conjure these.
* OnlySaneMan: Among the J-rankers, Iwafune is the sanest and the only one who does useful stuff around the base.
* ParentalSubstitute: He has looked after Nagare as if he was his son ever since both lost everything at the Kagutsu Crater disaster. In the Return of Kings ~ Prelude Green Side, Iwafune says he is like Nagare's foster father and Nagare does not deny it.
* TheSocialDarwinist: Subverted, although Iwafune cynically believes humans don't have the strength to protect themselves from tragedy, he thinks with the [[spoiler:Slate's power given to everyone, everybody will stand a fighting chance in events like the Damocles Down that took his clan]].
* SurvivorGuilt: [[spoiler: Iwafune is deeply saddened by his entire clan's death due to the Kagutsu Incident even after all these years.]]
* TeamDad: He's considered the 'father figure' of JUNGLE's top-rankers despite his drinking habit.
* ThatManIsDead: [[spoiler: He claims that his old identity of Seigo Ootori died in the Kagutsu Incident.]]
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:Once Nagare is killed by the Slate's destruction in the finale, Iwafune sets off explosives that cause the secret base to collapse while he and Nagare remain behind.]]
* TragicVillain: [[spoiler:Iwafune was driven to ruthlessly restructure the world after the eradication of his own clan in the Kagutsu Incident, now following Nagare's plans in the hopes the entire world will have the strength to face such calamity again]].
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Though his reasoning differs from Nagare's [[spoiler:Iwafune also works tirelessly to wrestle control of the Slate from the rest of the world so it can be used to empower all of mankind]].
* WillfullyWeak: [[spoiler:After the Kagutsu incident, he tells Hisui that he does not want to use his powers as a King anymore after failing to protect his clansmen.]]

[[folder:Aya Oogai]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/k_aya.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuiOgura

Appearing in ''K - Lost Small World'', Aya is a cheerful girl in Misaki and Saruhiko's middle school who at first seems interested in Misaki. It turns out she's Saruhiko's second cousin, and just as sharp as the rest of her family. Considering them, she has her share of troubles. At the end of ''Lost Small World'', her JUNGLE account is permanently shut down by Nagare because of Aya confronting Fushimi without his orders.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: A driving force in her deteriorated relationship with Saruhiko-- she always feels as if she's being left behind, and grows increasingly bitter over how he hasn't been trying by the end of middle school and plans to quit.
* AmbitionIsEvil: Because of her desperate need to prove herself, she's one of the first known characters working to rapidly climb the ranks of JUNGLE in order to attain "power."
* BeneathTheMask: Her personality can seem frivolous at first glance, and her style of speech might enhance the idea, but she has the same brains as the rest of their family and is near the top of their grade. At first she acts cheerful around Misaki as well, but in reality she's resentful that he managed to open up Saruhiko's world and she couldn't due to her having the same struggles as Saruhiko to express herself--although it turns out she does care about Misaki.
* BrokenBird: She cares about Saruhiko but could never bring herself to express it and results with him coming to truly hate her--it's increasingly implied in his POV he sees his abusive father in her--and later despairs "should she have been like Misaki-kun from the beginning?"
* CainAndAbel: With Saruhiko by the end of middle school, with her stating wild-eyed that she'll oppose anyone in her way, including "the red monster" (Mikoto), because Saruhiko doesn't "see her," and he basically looks back at her and sees the twisted face of his father. ([[spoiler:It's to the point she's even willing to take on the username of NIKI, Saruhiko's dad.]])
* DistaffCounterpart: She and Saruhiko act as mirrors to each other in many ways, but near the end of middle school when she gets glasses, Misaki remarks with surprise--"Your glasses, don’t they look like Saruhiko’s?"
* GirlishPigtails: She's a cute young girl with a pigtail hairstyle.
* GoodParents: At first the reader is left to wonder if their house is as troubled as Saruhiko's considering how she talks about her parents, but although they may have their own issues, it seems as though her mother cares a lot about her, showcasing concern about the unhappiness she sees in Aya, thinking it has to do with parting with friends, and comforting her with a hug.
* LonersAreFreaks: Saruhiko thinks to himself about how she doesn't have friends, even though she boasts many "friends" on the Jungle app--one of the many ways they've paralleled for a while. Misaki considers her his friend, and she breaks down crying at the thought of not being able to see him and Saruhiko again as they take the first step of growing up--and apart.
* TheMole: Acts as this for the Green Clan.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Not surprising considering her and Saruhiko's BigScrewedUpFamily, but it's the main reason their already highly contentious relationship takes a dive off a cliff. She openly displays her dislike of him, and he ends up hating her for real.
* SpoiledBrat: She seems to be at a point in life where everything about her mother annoys her.
* {{Tsundere}}: Like with Saruhiko, her pretending to despise and look down on people to bury her own insecurities has its real life consequences.
* UnknownRival: Saruhiko doesn't acknowledge her as a rival and doesn't even acknowledge her existence as he never tried to remember her name. While Aya is always projecting her view of him being her rival onto him; possibly a result of them always being compared to during family gatherings because they're the same age.
* ValleyGirl: Her way of speaking is frequently translated this way.
