The new robots, dubbed "Toy" due to their saccharine appearance, are far more advanced than their predecessors.

In contrast to every other animatronic in the series, they all have rosy cheeks, their vivid, saturated suits are made of plastic instead of the electronic-laced foam-like material, and most of their joints are covered by smaller plastic spheres like a posable reference mannequin one might see at an arts and craft store. Parts of the old animatronics were also recycled to build them.

30Following TheReveal at the end of the game, all of them are scrapped when the pizzeria's management decides to close the place down and reorganize things following a loss of business from the murders and the paranoia associated with the possible tampering of the facial recognition systems rendering them antagonistic towards all adults. 36* BigThinShortTrio: Unlike their predecessors, these guys have endoskeletons of noticeably different heights and very different suit sizes. Toy Freddy is the Big, having the bulkiest suit of any animatronic in the series except for possibly Nightmare Fredbear; Toy Chica is the Thin, being around the same height as Toy Freddy and having a suit that's even thinner than Foxy's; and Toy Bonnie is the Short, with his head barely reaching the height of Toy Chica's eyes and having a rather short torso compared to his bandmates (of course, his bunny ears make the fact barely noticeable).

If we take the secret minigames in ''3'', they are trying to cheer up the tormented dead souls of the kids.
42* GoneHorriblyWrong: The Steam page declares that they're able to recognize human beings and ''not'' attack them during free-roam mode. This is false, and the problem is that your only defense against the animatronics is to [[DressingAsTheEnemy put on a Freddy mask]].
43* HauntedTechnology: There are multiple things pointing to them also being possessed by dead kids.
44* HeelFaceTurn: If that really is their A.I.[=s=] in ''3''[='s=] minigames, then they may be helping the kids get sufficient closure after the death of their killer by re-throwing them the party that they never got to fully enjoy on their last day alive. Many of the people who go with the theory that the Fazbear's Fright guard is the one helping the kids attain salvation believe that they're cooperating with him.
45* HellIsThatNoise: While ''1''[='s=] animatronics had a high-pitched distorted child's scream when they caught you, the Toys will come at you with an ear-scraping mechanical/electronic roar that's either even more or equally startling.
46* HeroAntagonist: Of the KnightTemplar variety. As mentioned before, they think that they're protecting children by eliminating potential threats towards them, like criminals and predators, which, unfortunately, ends up meaning "every adult they see" in their eyes.
47* InformedAttribute: The new animatronics are supposed to be able to identify humans with their facial recognition technology, but in truth, their AI at night-time is just as buggy as their predecessors', if not even more due to how they will purposely migrate into areas with noise, because to them, noise means people. They'll also attack you if you're not wearing a mask, so either their facial recognition software is shot or Jeremy Fitzgerald and Fritz Smith have criminal records... In a message given by the Phone Guy, it's revealed that the place is coming under investigation again because the new animatronics act abnormal around adults during work hours.
48* LighterAndSofter: Phone Guy mentions that these new animatronics were designed with a more kid-friendly approach in mind. This especially applies to Foxy, who was considered too scary for the kids, so they gave him a much less threatening design and (possibly) flipped his gender. However...
49* MamaBear / PapaWolf: All animatronics are programmed with features like a link to a criminal database and facial recognition systems for the specific purpose of detecting people who might harm the children who visit their pizzeria. The Puppet does this entirely of its own accord due to the soul of the little girl haunting it.
50* NotQuiteDead: Fazbear Entertainment kept most of their shells [[spoiler:after they were scrapped]], and there's heavy implication that their parts were used to refurbish the original animatronics, with whatever few parts being left behind being kept along with the shells. They may or may not live on in ''3''[='s=] minigames as well.
51* OutOfFocus: From Night 3 onwards, the main four are quickly overshadowed by their withered counterparts.
52* PayEvilUntoEvil: They are under the assumption that the people they're going after are registered criminals and that they're protecting children, even more so after their facial recognition software starts acting up.
53* RedHerring: The presence of several action figures of the main four Toys in the post-night minigames in ''4'' appears to add credence to the theory that the fellow prequel takes place in 1987 as well, [[spoiler:and that the incident seen at the end of the main game is The Bite of '87]]... until WordOfGod confirmed that ''4'' took place in 1983. This, however, means that the Toy animatronics are quite a bit older than they appear to be, having existed for at least four years before the grand reopening of the pizzeria (which supposedly happened only a week prior to the events of ''2''). However, it's possible that the Toy animatronics were based on the toys.

''Ultimate Custom Night'' and ''Special Delivery'' reinforce this by giving the Toys unpleasant personalities to contrast their saccharine appearance; Toy Bonnie is made into a {{smug|Snake}}, popularity-obsessed {{narcissist}}, Toy Chica is portrayed as a CuteAndPsycho FemmeFatale to go with her sexually-charged design, and Toy Freddy appears as a whiny, [[SoreLoser selfish, and immature]] in ''UCN'' and an AffablyEvil baddie in ''Special Delivery'' who is much goofier compared to the original Freddy's more menacing personality.
56* TwoGirlsToATeam: If you consider Mangle to be a girl, this trope applies to Toy Chica and Mangle in-universe, as long as you don't take JJ into account.
57* UnnecessarilyCreepyRobot: InUniverse aversion. While still a bit creepy, they were designed to be cuter and more appealing than the originals. How successful they were is...debatable. However, the Puppet absolutely ''copyrights'' this trope.
58* UnscrupulousHero: Their love for children along with their anti-predator programming compels them to take action against any potential threat to kids in the pizzeria. Unfortunately, their modus operandi is unnecessarily brutal homicide, and in the end, they are fully endorsed in the belief that all adults are criminals.

Unlike his fellow animatronics, Toy Freddy lacks any significant changes between his Original and Toy iterations apart from the general cutesy redesign, a slightly bigger belly, and a red stripe on his top hat. He's also a lot more proactive and tenacious than Freddy, going after you starting from the first night rather than the third.

84* BrilliantButLazy: His characterization in ''Ultimate Custom Night'', a surprisingly dangerous animatronic that isn't even that focused on killing the player. He spends the night in his office playing a GameWithinAGame, not paying the events around him any mind. If he loses (or, rather, the player ''lets'' him lose), then he'll [[YouAreAlreadyDead rush towards the player]] [[JumpScare to take his frustration out on them]], [[ControllableHelplessness with nothing they can do to stop him]].

91* FinalBoss: A strong contender for the title in ''Ultimate Custom Night'', along with Funtime Foxy and Classic Foxy. To make use of an EasyLevelTrick that counters the Prize Corner animatronics, you have to keep the monitor on one camera... which isn't Toy Freddy's, meaning that it's [[LuckBasedMission entirely up to luck]] whether he holds out all night. Funtime Foxy is similar, but the most common 50/20 mode strategy takes him out entirely with the Death Coin, leaving Toy Freddy as your greatest threat.
92* TheGenericGuy: All of the other animatronics in ''2'' have something interesting going on with them[[note]]Toy Bonnie sliding into your office, Toy Chica's NightmareFace, Mangle's... He's not even that big of a threat to you, as he's only rarely active for the first two nights before being replaced by Withered Freddy. His next appearance puts it further by making him the only animatronic to have no focus at all with his other crew being, at least, related to the minigames. He comes back into focus in ''VideoGame/UltimateCustomNight'' as a serious threat and the resident MetaGuy.
