-->''"I'm not running!"''

An ancient Saiyan "from before Goku's time", the amnesic Shallot is trying to piece together his past as he participates in the Tournament of Time.

----
* AffectionateNickname: Goku calls him "Shall".
* AmnesiacHero: He suffers from amnesia, and can't remember his name. "Run, Shallot!" is the only thing he can remember.
* AnimeHair: A hedgehog-shaped hair, very similar to the hairstyle Gohan had during the Cell saga.
* BerserkButton: During the story mode, he develops a special bond with Vegeta and Nappa, [[spoiler: even obtaining the Super Saiyan transformation after their death at the hands of Freeza]]. Try to disrespect Vegeta and Nappa and Shallot '''will be pissed'''.
* BigBrotherMentor: He becomes Cabba's master in Book 3 in order to teach him the Super Saiyan transformation.
* BigEater: He shares Goku's voracious Saiyan appetite.
* BlueIsHeroic: He wears a navy blue and black colored Saiyan battle armor and portrayed as a relatively goodwill fighter.
* BookDumb: He is a bit of a simpleton, having a hard time understanding things like technology. Gero calls him a simpleton, and Zahha calls him a gorilla.
* CainAndAbel: [[spoiler: The Abel to Giblet's Cain.]]
* CompositeCharacter: Shallot takes various cues from classic Dragon Ball characters and often acts as a substitute to them in ''Legends'' retelling of events. For example, him avenging the Saiyans and turning into Super Saiyan is taken from Goku, but becoming the master of Cabba is taken from Vegeta.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: A meta example regarding ''Dragon Ball'' games, but previous games with original stories had no original protagonists, merely offering [[OcStandIn blank slates]] for the player to self-insert and create their own character. Shallot, unlike them, has a personality, motivation, and backstory (although one clouded by amnesia)
* EdibleThemeNaming: A shallot is a kind of onion. He shares etymology with the proposed Saiyan name for Vegeta's daughter.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He is a bit grumpy, and hates that people constantly annoy him, but is a decent guy. This may or may not be because of his amnesia.
* KidFromTheFuture: Inverted. He appears to be from the distant past, as the armor he wears is the Sadalan armor worn by the Saiyans before joining Frieza's forces. Not surprisingly, he was summoned for the Tournament of Time.
* TheNoseKnows: Shallot's nose is pretty sensitive, and can recognize smells without issue. He can smell Turles's evil intentions from the get-go and had a small freak out when he smells different scents coming from Cell.
* PhysicalGod: [[spoiler:He and his twin brother are close descendants of the original Super Saiyan God Yamoshi. They have a special bloodline unique from other Saiyans that allows them to tap into the Super Saiyan God transformation more easily.]]
* PrehensileTail: Like other pure-breed Saiyans of the past, Shallot has a monkey tail, which unlike most adult Saiyans he doesn't wrap around his waist.
* PrettyBoy: Shallot is fairly handsome and, unlike many Toriyama-designed Saiyan characters introduced after the end of the original manga, he has a chiselled, muscular figure to go with the good-looking face.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: He shares an eagerness for battle like most of his kind.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Shallot delivers some scathing speeches towards his enemies.
** He calls Turles an idiot that doesn't know what he wants after his rambling wish of a despotic world and his superficial strength. Turles is actually affected by this.
** Repeatedly calls out Frieza on his cowardly, underhanded, selfish tactics, even before the tyrant officially makes Shallot his enemy.

[[folder: Zahha]]
!! Zahha (ザッハ, ''Zahha'')
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zahha_artwork_legends_6.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RyotaroOkiayu (Japanese); Creator/JoelMcDonald (English)

A young magical swordsman from a distant time and place. He is an ally of Shallot and company during the Tournament of Time.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Has turquoise skin.
* CombatPragmatist: Shown a preference on using sneak attacks and blind sighting his opponents, though he shows a distaste for doing it, he will do it when he deems it necessary.
* CoolSword: As a dual wielding swordsman, he wields two medieval swords.
* DeadpanSnarker: He is a bit of a snarker.
* EarlyBirdCameo: A extreme close up of his eyes and his swords are seen in the game opening of ''Legends'', roughly a month before his official design was shown to the public in ''V-Jump'' and many months before his official introduction in the fully released game.
* EdibleThemeNaming: His name derives from the Viennese chocolate cake '''Sacher'''torte, which is romanized as '''Zahha'''torute due to its pronunciation.
* GeniusBruiser: He's not the strongest fighter, but quite the smart one, constantly using tactics and using his abilities strategically and constantly trying to coordinate his fellow fighters.
* IceKing: Generally described as having an icy demeanor, yet offers his help to Shallot when they find themselves. They have a TeethClenchedTeamwork, to say the least, with Zahha finding Shallot a brute or [[FantasticRacism gorilla]], but deep down both trust each other as friends.
* JerkassHasAPoint: He may be distant and cold at times to his allies, but he makes many astute points about the situation around him. He frequently chastises Shallot's bullheaded thinking and often tries to get him to think things through properly.
* MindOverMatter: He wields his swords with telekinesis.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: [[spoiler: Assuming that Dabura's speculation was correct, Zahha may be from the Demon Realm. Unlike Dabura and other members of the Demon Realm, he has no interest in seeing the world in ruins.]]
* MysteriousPast: He gives seemingly contradictory hints about his past
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: [[spoiler: He is (possibly) an inhabitant of the Demon Realm. He claims that his home planet no longer exists, though other planets presumably exist within the Demon Realm (according to official sources, the Demon Realm is a whole parallel cosmos existing on the underside of the universe, like the flipside of a coin).]]
* OptOut: He initially refuses to join Shallot and the others to work on Beerus' behalf on the basis he doesn't quite trust the destroyer god.
* PointyEars: He has pointy ears, similar to that of demons and many alien species in the franchise. [[spoiler: He is from the Demon Realm.]]
* PrettyBoy: An elf-ish looking pretty boy of long hair. Bulma finds him hot at some point in the game.
* RunningGag: Him finding Ribrianne gross and annoying, to the point he is the usual victim to her antics.
* SupportPartyMember: Most of his magic abilities (transporting, healing, illusions, etc.) are used as a way to support his allies, with him relying on his swords and ki to do damage.

[[folder: The Saiyan in Red]]
!!The Saiyan in Red (赤でサイヤ人, ''Aka de Saiya-jin'') [[spoiler: Giblet (ジブレット, ''Jiburetto'')]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giblet_artwork_legends.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KenjiNojima (Japanese); Creator/MicahSolusod (English)

--> ''I'll admit my power can't hold a candle to yours, not as is it now. But know this: I will hunt you. It’s inevitable. The blood of the defeated... the blood of the tainted...both will be expunged from existence! By me! Balance will reign once more!''

A mysterious figure who looks like Shallot, wreaking havoc everywhere.
----
* AlternateSelf: DiscussedTrope. Beerus and Whis discuss if he could be Shallot from a different era, where he didn't have any amnesia.
* BigBad: He is the main antagonist of ''Legends'' due to wreaking havoc everywhere during the Tournament of Time, and having a personal reason for wanting Shallot dead. [[spoiler:However, it turns out that Zahha is TheManBehindTheMan and has been [[PlayingBothSides manipulating both Shallot and Giblet for his own purposes]].]]
--> '' Ha ha ha! At last! At long last! I can wring the life out of your filthy body!''
* BloodKnight: A common Saiyan trait, he loves to fight. Jaco notices he is a natural born killer.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler:At least some of his evil actions were the result of subtle brainwashing from Zahha, though the Dark Ki provided by Zahha only accentuates the darkness that already existed in Giblet's heart, similar to the spell that Babidi uses to control his minions. So, on some level, Giblet always resented Shallot and the evil Saiyans that wiped out his tribe.]]
* CainAndAbel: [[spoiler: The Cain to Shallot's Abel.]]
* CrypticConversation: He does this almost gratuitously, he absolutely ''refuses'' to expand on something unless the heroes figure it out or he absolutely feels the need to, which means a lot of his speech can be extremely confusing due to the lack of context.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Like with Zahha, he appears in the opening of ''Legends'' roughly a month before his official design was shown to the public in ''V-Jump'', and many months before his official introduction in the fully released game. He is shown back-to-back with Shallot.
* EasilyForgiven: {{Averted}}. [[spoiler:While Shallot is willing to forgive his brother after he [[HeelFaceTurn turns over a new leaf]], Bardock refuses to forget that Giblet murdered many Saiyans participating in the Tournament of Time. Giblet doesn't blame Bardock for holding this grudge.]]
* EdibleThemeNaming: [[spoiler: A "giblet" is a piece of edible organs from a chicken, like gizzards or a heart.]] This translation, however, is a mistake from the translators, as his name シブレット translates to Ciboulette, [[spoiler: the Europoean name for Chives, a vegetable in the same family as onions, making the PunnyName LostInTranslation.]]
* EvilTwin: [[spoiler: Literally, he is Shallot's twin brother.]]
* {{Expy}}: Similar to many movie villains that are inspired by characters from the main continuity, The Saiyan In Red is inspired by [[Characters/DragonBallGokuBlack Goku Black]]. Both are mysterious figures who are identical to the protagonist, are introduced wreaking havoc in an city, claim to do things for the greater good but is just an excuse to kill everyone (balance instead of justice, Saiyans instead of mortals) and they have a similar energy to someone else. This is lampshaded by Beerus, who wonders if he is a similar case to Black.
* FantasticRacism: He has a genocidal hatred for all Saiyans, despite being one himself, which allowed the Dark Ki to take hold of him. [[spoiler:This is because modern Saiyans evolved from the "evil Saiyans" of the past who opposed Yamoshi and the other "heroic Saiyans" who were wiped out in an ancient civil war. Giblet refers to the evil Saiyan bloodline as "blood of the tainted", whereas he and Shallot possess the "blood of the defeated".]]
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has a small scar on his jawline, which is the only physical trait that distinguishes him from [[spoiler:his brother]] Shallot. Shallot was the one who gave it to him.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:At the end of the story, he finally learns the error of his ways and vows to fight alongside his brother for as long as they live.]]
* IdenticalStranger: He looks just like Shallot under the hood, even with a similar armor. Beerus even compares him with Goku Black, and suspects he may be an AlternateSelf. [[spoiler:The actual explanation, as it turns out, is much simpler: they're twin brothers.]]
* InTheHood: Dons a red hood over his head.
* KnightTemplar: He claims he does everything for the sake of balance by "purifying the blood of the tainted" and putting the Saiyans in the right path. His main methodology involves killing every single one in his path.
* PhysicalGod: [[spoiler:He and his twin brother are close descendants of the original Super Saiyan God Yamoshi, which enables them to tap into the power of the red-haired transformation. Giblet is motivated to keep the "righteous Saiyan" bloodline pure from the barbaric "evil Saiyans" of the past (most modern Saiyans, including Goku and Vegeta, are ironically descended from the evil Saiyans).]]
* StrongerSibling: [[spoiler:Is this to Shallot during the early parts of the story.]]
* SuperSupremacist: [[spoiler:As a descendant of the original Super Saiyan God, Giblet sees it as his birthright to be part of a superior caste of Saiyan.]]
* ThisCannotBe: That Goku was able to attain the fabled Super Saiyan God transformation despite coming from "the blood of the tainted" (i.e. the barbarian Saiyans of the past) flies in the face of Giblet's SuperSupremacist attitude that only those with "the blood of the defeated" have the right to become Gods.
* TwinTelepathy: [[spoiler:During their climactic battle against Golden Frieza, Shallot and Giblet coordinate their attacks seamlessly without having to say a word to each other. Although they had fought against each other for most of the story, they had also been fighting alongside each other since they could walk, so they have a natural brotherly synergy that can't ever be beaten.]]
* UnwittingPawn: His memories were manipulated by the Mastermind in order to make him more hostile towards his brother and the other Saiyans.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Mastermind *MAJOR SPOILERS*]]
This mysterious person is the one responsible for the tournament happening in the first place, seemingly with the intent to destroy the world. His true identity turns out to actually be a mirage of Zahha's, who is the TRUE BigBad.
----
* BigBad: The one pulling the strings from behind the scenes. As it turns out though, he was much more hands-on than anyone thought...
* BigBadFriend: To Shallot. He even admits that he actually grew attached to him after all they've been through throughout the tournament. Still doesn't stop him from stabbing Shallot in the back, or trying to finish him off shortly afterwards.
* FalseFriend: He admits that the only reason he got close to Shallot was for his plans to work.
* InTheBack: How he reveals his true self, much to Shalllot's expense...
* ManipulativeBastard: He erased both Shallot and Giblet's memories prior to sending them to the current timeline, so that his plans could proceed. He also stayed close to Shallot and became his friend to secretly manipulate him even further.
* NoSell: Once he obtains the Omnificence Crystal, he manages to COMPLETELY nullify Beerus's Hakai technique.
* NotAlwaysEvil: {{Subverted}}. While he is initially presented as an example of MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch, Zahha turns out to be just as evil as any other member of the Demon Realm race that we've met (assuming that he truly is one of them, as Dabura speculates).
* PlayingBothSides: As said, he manipulates both Shallot and Giblet throughout the story, playing them against each other to further his own dark plans.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: His dialogue once he obtains the Omnificence Crystal (as well as his dialogue with Zamasu and Beerus) shows that he thinks very little of the Gods and Angels as they allowed his home to be destroyed, and that he believes himself to be above them now.
* SuperPrototype: According to him, the Omnificence Crystal was this to the Super Dragon Balls. But he claims that it has surpassed them thanks to the power that it has absorbed from Shallot and Giblet.
