A devious VillainWithGoodPublicity, Vlad is a manipulative, clever, genius billionaire who has made it his lifetime goal to [[MurderTheHypotenuse kill his former best friend Jack Fenton and subsequently take back the woman he loves, Maddie]]. His other goal is to [[{{Brainwashed}} convince]] Danny to [[WeCanRuleTogether join his side]] as his surrogate son due to their [[EvilCounterpart similar natures]] (that Danny often denies) and powers.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: When he reveals to Maddie that he wants her to leave Jack for him, she ended up hating his guts.
* AbortedArc: Whatever plans he had for the Ghost King's Crown and partnership with the Fright Knight were ultimately abandoned in Season 3 after the show's former head of story left.
** [[spoiler:In the graphic novel ComicBook/DannyPhantomAGlitchInTime, when the two meet again, the Fright Knight claims he no longer serves him and attacks his former master, implying the two had some kind of a fallout after Vlad's banishment.]]
* AbusiveParent: He created Danielle, who was loyal to and desired affection from him. However, he treated her as a mindless, disposable drone and verbally abuses her whenever she questions his orders. Their "relationship" only worsens when Vlad tries to melt her alive and even before that, [[YoureNotMyFather she renounces all ties with him]] after realizing he only saw her as "a mess he's not gonna clean up".
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:In the series finale, Vlad's attempt to save the world from an asteroid fails and he'll be hunted by everyone on Earth because he had just revealed his secret to the planet and had threatened the world leaders. Desperate, he begs Jack to help him only for Jack to turn him down after realizing that his so-called friend no longer returned his friendship. Being abandoned in space, Vlad has lost everything and becomes a "free-roaming space nomad" destined to be alone forever.]]
* AllForNothing: Vlad's often claimed all he wanted was love, namely that of Maddie's, and a family of his own. Most of his goals have been just to have that happy life he's always wanted, a family and love to call his own. [[spoiler:Because of his actions, Maddie's only feelings towards him are negative and she wants nothing to do with him, the closest thing he had to a family was a girl he rejected due to being an imperfect clone of the son he wanted out of Danny, and the friend he had long mistreated turning his back on him once his true colors were shown. Not only does Vlad not get anything he wanted, he's left with less in the end.]]
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To Danny. Twenty years of experience using his ghost powers means that he has far better control of them, and a much broader repertoire of powers to draw from. It's to the point where even when Danny tricks Vlad into wearing a belt that ''constantly'' electrocutes him in "Maternal Instinct", Vlad ''still'' has the upper hand during their fight. A desire to close the gap causes Danny to train intensively. While Danny does improve much more quickly than Vlad did, he still almost never beat Vlad in a straight-up fight, usually resorting to interfering with his end goal or using trickery. As the series progresses, Danny develops powers Vlad does not possess, such as the [[SuperScream Ghostly Wail]] and his [[AnIcePerson ice powers]]. This gives him more of an edge against Vlad, leading to some solid victories (most notably the opening scene in "Phantom Planet", where Danny uses his ice powers to turn Vlad into a HumanPopsicle).
* TheApocalypseBringsOutTheBestInPeople: [[spoiler: Vlad only becomes a good person in the Dark Danny timeline, where he loses his ghost powers and Jack and Maddie are both dead. It is in this reality that Vlad ''finally'' realizes that he's acted like a fool and could've been happy as a family friend to the Fentons had he just learned to let go. Sadly, his prime timeline counterpart is regarded as BeyondRedemption without this specific set of circumstances to change him.]]
* ArchEnemy: Danny's most recurring and most personal enemy. He even refers to Vlad as his "arch-enemy". Initially, Vlad doesn't completely return the sentiment since he wants Danny as his half-ghost son, until Danny's constant rejections lead him to trying to clone Danny and make him his son that way. After Danny foils ''that'' scheme, he gives up on that entirely and by Season Three makes no secret of how much he hates Danny.
* AttemptedHomewrecker: One of his main goals in life is to murder his former best friend and steal his wife.
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: In "Maternal Instincts", it's shown that Vlad not only hunts animals for sport and hangs their pelts as trophies, but also performs horrifying experiments on the ghosts of his catches, turning them into deformed abominations. Danny is able to turn the animals against him in the episode's climax.
* BadassCape: In his ghost form, Vlad has a stylish white and red cape.
* {{Badass In A Nice Suit}}: Vlad is always sharply dressed in his human form.
* BatmanGambit: Vlad's preferred MO, although he's not always as good at predicting responses as he thinks he is.
* BeamOWar: Danny and Vlad with ectoplasmic rays in "Kindred Spirits".
* BeardOfEvil: Has a goatee in both his human and ghost forms.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Vlad makes no secret of the fact that he would prefer Danny throw away his heroic qualities and act more like Vlad himself does. Danny has proven to fight dirty and resort to dark tactics like emotional manipulation to win but often only towards Vlad, who emphatically does not care for Danny acting that way towards him.
* BerserkButton: Turns angry if you call him a "''fruitloop''". Or mention how he lost the woman of his dreams to an idiot and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking still can't use his vast fortune to buy the Green Bay Packers]]. [[EscalatingPunchline Or suggest he get a cat]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Vlad also fits -- while the audience knows he is bad to the bone, most other characters think he is a saint, especially when he's not in ghost mode.
* BeyondRedemption: [[spoiler: In the final episode "Phantom Planet", Jack finds out that his college friend Vlad has become a half-ghost bent on killing him and stealing Maddie. Despite all that Vlad had done, including the numerous previous attempts at murder, Jack attempted to reason with Vlad not to go through with his world domination plot, even pointing out that he voted for Vlad to become mayor in the first place. Vlad refuses to hear Jack's pleas. Thanks to that, Jack concludes that Vlad is not worth redeeming. As such, when Vlad has the audacity to ask Jack for help when his plan fails, ''[[EntitledBastard just after he threatened to steal Maddie]]'' '''''[[EntitledBastard right in front of Jack]]''''', the latter leaves Vlad behind in outer space.]]
* BigBad: Vlad establishes himself as this as the series progresses, having appeared in more episodes than every other villain. Many of the overarching arcs can be traced back to his scheming, including the movie finale, and his rivalry with Danny is easily the most personal on the show.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: [[VillainWithGoodPublicity Most characters think of him as a saint and almost universally love him]], but Vlad is, in reality, a domineering sociopath who's actually an evil ghost and uses his powers for personal gain.
* BrokenAce: Vlad is a very wealthy and powerful man, but he has a ''lot'' of issues.
* BrokenPedestal: Poor Danielle learns the hard way what kind of person her creator is. [[spoiler:Soon, Jack and Valerie feel the same way.]] Maddie seemed to have treated him pretty nicely until learning he had always had a thing for her and blames Jack for "stealing" her. When he abruptly asks her to dump Jack and marry him, she's treated him with disdain ever since. Even after she was willing to let bygones be bygones in "Reign Storm" after he saves Danny, she still didn't have a positive opinion of him.
* CardCarryingVillain: He initially averted this - for the first two seasons, being called a villain was almost a BerserkButton for him - but after VillainDecay began to set in, he started acting more like a conventional card-carrying baddie.
* TheChessmaster: To the point of referring to his plans and the people in them using chess terms.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Flight, intangibility, energy blasts, possession, and duplication.
* ConsummateLiar: Lies to everybody, but especially Jack.
* TheCorruptor: Played with. Vlad doesn't go out of his way to try and wear down Danny's morals or convince him to embrace his darker traits but he does take some delight in pointing out that Danny isn't the faultless paragon he wants to be and that [[NotSoDifferentRemark Danny is a lot more like him than he wants to admit]]. Vlad actually got a victory in his first appearance because Danny was forced to resort to emotional manipulation to get him to stand down, which Vlad took as a win because it's something he would do. And indeed Danny is generally forced to fight dirtier and resort to more underhanded methods when it comes to fighting Vlad.
* CurbStompBattle: His first few fights with Danny end this way in his favor. He himself is on the receiving end against Pariah Dark.
* DeadpanSnarker: Much like Danny, Vlad is often very sarcastic.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of TheResenter, GreenEyedMonster, and BrokenAce. Despite having a very successful and prosperous life, Vlad is completely obsessed with the fact that the accident that gave him his powers cost him his chance to win Maddie's hand in marriage. As a result, he spends the series attempting to kill Jack and take Maddie. Maddie eventually sees what a creep he is underneath it all and [[spoiler: Jack ultimately abandons him in space when he finally realizes what a monster he is]], showing how resentment and jealousy can destroy one's life. By contrast, his BadFuture self, who lost his powers during [[BewareTheSuperman Dark Danny]]'s creation, eventually comes to realize what a fool he was.
** "Masters of All Time" expands and delves deeper into Vlad's archetype prior to his accident. He's shown to always have the sweets for Maddie and reacts with jealousy when she gives Jack affection. Even without the accident that gave him his powers and him being able to marry Maddie after "saving" her, he still becomes the same sociopathic, manipulative man and treats Maddie as a trophy rather than a wife.
* DevilInPlainSight: Even says obviously evil things around others, but they perceive it as a joke.
* DevilishHairHorns: Sports these as a ghost.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: In his second episode he tries to win Maddie over...by asking her to dump Jack and stay with him. When there are no signs of any strain in their happy marriage whatsoever. Naturally, she refuses and storms away. Before this, she seemed to regard him as a family friend (albeit being somewhat uncomfortable by his blatant flirting), but this action, however, completely soured her opinion towards him.
* EnemyMine: He and Danny team up against Pariah Dark, Fright Knight, and his army. Though this was part of his BatmanGambit to steal the Fenton Ectoskeleton and convince Fright Knight to shift his loyalty, he also seems to sincerely regard Pariah Dark as the bigger threat.
* EntitledBastard: In the final episode, [[spoiler:after revealing his true nature and that he doesn't consider Jack a friend, he still genuinely expects Jack to help him after his plan to phase the Ectoranium asteroid through the Earth backfires, only for Jack to leave him stranded in space]].
* EntitledToHaveYou:
** His attitude towards Maddie. He believes having her as his wife is his right and resents Jack for stealing her from him. Of course, it's also made clear that he's more in love with the idea of being with Maddie than Maddie herself.
** He also shows (non-romantic) shades of this towards Danny. Some part of him believes Danny should be ''his'' son because he's the only other half-ghost in the world (at least until Vlad created Dani). It's implied to be because he sees Danny as the child he could have had with Maddie had she simply chosen him instead of Jack.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler:His alternate future self went into exile over guilt for Dark Danny's existence, and is horrified as to what Dark Danny does to his human half. It's also implied that he genuinely felt sympathetic towards Danny losing his friends and family to the Nasty Burger explosion]].
* EverythingButTheGirl: Except for one time-twisting episode, nothing he did ever got him Maddie. He admits his vast wealth doesn't come close to getting Maddie's love.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Thought asking Maddie to dump Jack right to her face wouldn't end with her hating him. It seems despite wanting love, he fails to understand it.
* EvilCounterpart: To Danny. He's a prime example of what Danny could have been if he had used his powers for personal gain.
* EvilIsPetty: A self-admitted petty, vindictive man, who freely desires to hurt, insult, humiliate, and degrade anyone who gets in the way of his schemes and plans. One of his prime targets being Jack Fenton, to who he takes every chance to make a fool of for having everything he feels he's entitled to. He even admitted such when Danny came to call a truce in the hopes that Vlad would stop making life miserable for himself and his friends during his tenure as Mayor of Amity Park.
-->'''Vlad:''' How nice. A gentleman's handshake. But you forget, where you and I are concerned: [[SuddenlyShouting I AM NO GENTLEMAN!]]
* EvilUncle: He's Danny and Jazz's honorary uncle through friendship with their parents... all meanwhile he tries to kill their father and make Danny his surrogate son against the latter's will.
* EvilVersusEvil: Him against the Ghost King. Doesn't end well for the former.
* {{Expy}}: Butch Hartman has described him as the "[[Characters/SupermanLexLuthor Lex Luthor]]" of the series, in that he's a billionaire who serves as the ArchEnemy of the hero that puts on a [[FauxAffablyEvil seemingly charming act in the presence of others]] and is motivated by his pettiness and ego to commit acts of villainy. They also have a very unhealthy hatred for someone, Superman and Jack Fenton for Lex and Vlad respectively, that motivates most, if not all, of their plans. His becoming mayor in the final season also mirrors how Luthor was president for a time.
* EyeColorChange: His human side has blue eyes, while his ghost form has blazing red eyes.
* FalseFriend: Played with. Jack and him were legitimately best friends in college before the accident that gave Vlad ghost powers and Jack's marriage to Maddie. When they "reignite" their friendship in "Bitter Reunions", he acts like he's forgiven Jack and has become his friend again, when in reality he's this -- Jack is simply too oblivious to notice, and remains so [[spoiler:until the series finale]]. However, [[spoiler:"The Ultimate Enemy" implies that deep, ''deep'' down, Vlad does still consider Jack his best friend but is too warped by jealousy, resentment, and bitterness to acknowledge it. It's only in the BadFuture, where he lost everything and had a decade to reflect on all his mistakes, that he's able to accept how much Jack meant to him]].
* FangsAreEvil: He has a pair of vampiric teeth in his ghost form.
* FatalFlaw:
** {{Pride}} and [[DrivenByEnvy Envy]]. He believes he's a genius whose life was ruined and that he deserves Maddie. He also believes that he is always right, no matter what. [[spoiler:In the bad future, when his plans to relieve Danny of his emotional pain lead to Dark Danny being formed and human!Danny being killed, he realizes how horribly wrong he can be. Also, with his powers gone and Dark Danny on the loose, his pride is shattered. With Maddie and Jack dead, his envy also has no target either and he suffers a HeelFaceTurn as a result.]] This just shows how flawed Masters is as it takes ''a lot'' of trauma to make such a horrible person like him reexamine his life.
** Arrogance. Vlad thinks too highly of himself and his ambitions and is unwilling to compromise them. Despite Danielle once looking up to her creator as a father, he saw her as a pawn as he wanted a perfect copy of Danny, a ''son'' instead of a daughter. This turned her against him. This has also caused him to underestimate his foes. Despite being Danny's superior in power, he has still lost fights or had his plans foiled due to Danny's quick thinking. Furthermore, this caused him to be defeated relatively easily by Jack Fenton in "The Million Dollar Ghost", despite Jack lacking any kind of superpowers. He had another moment at the beginning of the same episode where he believed that he could easily defeat Behemoth and take the Skeleton Key, only to be knocked away when he let his guard down.
** His hatred for Jack. Vlad's obsession with ruining Jack's life or killing him has not only made him an enemy of Jack’s son and hated by the woman he lusts for, but it ends up screwing him over at the worst possible time. [[spoiler:In the series finale, he intentionally inputs the wrong coordinates for a rocket that would have destroyed the Disasteroid so that he can make Jack look bad to the entire world. He then uses this to blackmail the world into making him ruler of the Earth in exchange for saving it. When he reveals his powers to the world and attempts to make the Disasteroid intangible, he discovers too late that it's made of a material that's hazardous to him and he used up the only weapon they had that could've destroyed it because he couldn't help but spite Jack, meaning that the Earth is still doomed and even if it weren’t, he couldn’t return or he’d be hunted for blackmailing the world. He then asks Jack for help, but since he had just revealed to Jack how much he hates him and that he planned to steal Maddie from him, Jack abandons him and flies back to Earth without him.]]
** Overall, it's his inability to move on. With all his intelligence, wealth, and ghost powers, Vlad could've done anything with his life, be just about anything he could ever want to be. Instead, he uses his many advantages to settle petty grudges and obsess over the few things he ''can't'' have. For example, instead of finding a partner who is a good match for him and who could actually love him as he is, he instead obsesses over having his college crush Maddie because he didn't get the chance to ask her out when they were younger, and the family she had with Jack, because one of her kids happens to be half-ghost like him. Likewise, instead of pursuing a legitimate political career and attaining power to enforce real change, he instead cheats at an election to make himself mayor of a city like [[QuirkyTown Amity Park]], just so he can implement draconian policies for the sole purpose of screwing with his teenage ArchEnemy. In the end, Vlad himself is the one limiting his own potential because he is flat-out unable to let go of anything that didn’t work out the way he wanted it to.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Vlad's veneer of politeness doesn't really do much to mask his true self.
* Fiction500: Vlad is a billionaire with a huge castle in Wisconsin along with a huge home by the Rockies, owns several of his own companies (i.e. Dalv), as well as many others he literally took over (like Mastersoft, formerly Microsoft), state-of-the-art ghost-hunting technology, can easily pay to have everything rebuilt time and time again with no financial worry, and finance a professional ghost-hunting team with superior technology once and easily set a million-dollar bounty on a single ghost. The only things he can't buy are [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Maddie's love, Danny's respect, and the Green Bay Packers]]. He does reveal to Danny in "Kindred Spirits" that he's used his ghost powers to amass his fortune by committing invisible burglaries and [[DemonicPossession overshadowing other people]] to get them to give him their money.
* FinalBoss:
** Vlad is the final boss in the Game Boy Advance game of "The Ultimate Enemy" in Mission Mode, where he is fought directly after the second battle with Dark Danny (the final boss in the regular version of the game's story).
** He is the last boss faced in the ''Urban Jungle'' game for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS during the Boss Battle mode, which consists of a boss rush against ghost villains who aren't fought in the main game.
* FirstNameBasis: He's one of the few villains who refer to Danny by his name, and the only character who calls him "Daniel".
* FlyingBrick: Even more so than Danny, given his 20 years of more experience.
* FreakLabAccident: Vlad gained his powers through one of these, though it also gave him ecto-acne and, at least to his mind, cost him the love of his life.
* {{Greed}}: He spent the last twenty years using his powers to rob banks and possess millionaires into forcing them to sell their company to his. In ''Phantom Planet'', [[spoiler:when he revealed his true nature to the world, he demanded 500 ''billion'' dollars and total world supremacy in exchange for him saving the planet.]]
* HatedByAll: [[spoiler:In the finale, after revealing his ghost half to the whole world, threatening to rule the planet, and then steal Maddie from Jack, he's become an enemy of the world and even Jack sees that he's BeyondRedemption.]]
* HeelRealization: In "The Ultimate Enemy", [[spoiler:an older, de-powered Vlad admits that spending ten years having lost everything]] did have some benefits.
--> "[[spoiler:If any good came out of this, it's that ten years without ghost powers gave me the chance to see what a fool I'd been.]]"
* HiddenDepths: Vlad is shown to be a huge football fan, especially for the Green Bay Packers. In fact, mentioning how he can't buy the team is a BerserkButton for him.
* HisOwnWorstEnemy: In a sense, when Danny Phantom isn't the one who ruins his plans, it's ''Vlad himself''. His utter refusal to let go of the family he wants, or the woman he wants, does him more harm than good. When Maddie flat out rejects his offer, he refuses to move on and still continues trying to kill Jack Fenton to get his hands on her. He wants Danny for a son so badly that he resorted to cloning. He could've been happy to settle for Danielle, but he wanted a "perfect" replica and a son, not an imperfectly made daughter, resulting in another Phantom opposing him. It's probably no wonder he wanted world domination by the final season, which would grant him everything he wants, but even that gets repeatedly botched due to an oversight or his overestimating his own skills and abilities.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Constantly, a lot of his defeats are usually because of some oversight that he doesn't catch in time due to his ego. [[spoiler: This eventually comes to a head in "Phantom Planet" where he finds a meteorite coming toward the Earth and offers to ghost it harmlessly through the planet in exchange for becoming the ruler of the Earth, revealing his alter ego in the process. He even has Jack take him to it as a bit of personal embarrassment. Jack tries to sway him into giving up on his conquest as he still considers him his friend. But Vlad coldly rejects his offer. However, when he can't phase the meteor since it's made of a substance that negates ghost powers, he realizes he can't uphold his end of the bargain and since he revealed his villainous nature, he'll be branded a criminal on Earth. He quickly turns to Jack for help, but Jack refuses and leaves him stranded in space.]]
* HonoraryUncle: He would probably be this to the Fenton children by virtue of being Jack and Maddie's college friend. But make no mistake, Danny and Jazz do ''not'' see him as this at all as they know his true colors. They've only ever referred to him as "Uncle Vlad" as sarcasm or to get on his good side.
* HopelessSuitor: Vlad loves the idea of being with Maddie more than Maddie herself -- which is why Maddie could ''never'' be happy with him. Even in an alternate reality where she married Vlad, Maddie ''still'' loved Jack, due to Vlad's controlling nature, treating her more like a possession instead of a person. Even as a ''hologram'', one ''specifically'' designed to love him and disparage her husband, did not love him and instead loved Jack (or "The Jack Program" in this case). It seems the one thing Vlad is unable to comprehend, something that is obvious to everyone else, is that for all his wealth, fame, and power, he doesn't have a chance with Maddie -- ''at all''.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despite his claims that all he wanted was to be loved, he treats the only two people who showed him any kind of love or admiration (Jack and Danielle) like dirt, blaming the former for "stealing" Maddie and believing that the latter's only purpose was to serve him. He instead obsesses over a woman -- a ''married'' one at that -- who doesn't even like him as a friend anymore because of said obsession and doesn't care how she actually feels, as well as gaining his teenage archenemy as a son.
** He also accuses Jack of "stealing" Maddie from him, yet he always tries to find ways to literally steal Maddie from Jack, despite that they're HappilyMarried ''with a family of their own''. So, apparently, only ''Vlad's'' allowed to steal Maddie.
* IfICantHaveYou: Implied to be Vlad's true feelings towards Danny. It seems, despite wanting to take Danny as his son, he still has no problems putting the boy in danger, like the one time he de-powered Danny and sent his mutant animals after him with the implication of killing him. Then there's his cloning experiment on Danny. When he finishes completing his "perfect clone", he states that the original Danny will be nothing but "[[NeverSayDie obsolete]]" once he gets what he wants. When he loses said clone, he decides to see Danny as full-on archenemy from then on, likely accepting that Danny wants nothing to do with him.
* InLoveWithLove: {{Deconstruction}}. Vlad is obsessed with the idea of being with Maddie more than Maddie herself, to the point of not seeming to care that she doesn't want anything to do with him or that killing Jack would make her hate him. He goes as far as to have a stuffed doll of her and bases his holograms on her.
* IntergenerationalRivalry: With Danny, who is the only other (natural) half-ghost in the world. Vlad initially wants to subvert this trope, desiring Danny to be his son and apprentice instead, but after one too many rejections, he eventually gives up and goes all in with the rivalry. It especially shows in "Eye for an Eye", where they get into an EscalatingWar.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Vlad doesn't see anything wrong with what he does, from kidnapping[=/=]torturing Danny and trying to steal Maddie from Jack, to creating living clones (including [[ClonesArePeopleToo Danielle]]) doomed to a short life before dissolving into a pile of ectoplasm [[LackOfEmpathy without batting an eye]]. Why? Because it's all to give himself what ''he'' wants.
* ItsPersonal: By the time of Season Three, his hatred of Danny has become so fierce that he became Mayor of Amity Park just to screw with him.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In ''very'' specific circumstances, he's this. [[spoiler:In the Ultimate Enemy timeline, it took his best friend, Jack, his obsession, Maddie, being killed as well as Danny, who lost his family, friends, and teacher, to come to him for help. Without Jack alive for him to antagonize — combined with fact that he actually misses him — and without Maddie alive to obsess over, he helps out Danny by removing his ghost half in an attempt to let Danny have a normal life and move on from his ghost hunting days that led to his loved ones' deaths. Unfortunately, it led to Ghost Danny stealing and merging with his ghost half, murder Danny's human half violently in front of him, and Dark Danny murdering an uncountable number of people for him to truly become a good person.]] Danny can't really replicate this series of events (for obvious reasons) as Masters going through the humiliation and humbling traumatic conga line to become good would cause more pain and suffering than it's worth. It's ironic because he does have a lot of empathy for Danny and even becomes a decent surrogate father to Danny [[spoiler:in that timeline.]] For Masters, he's effectively locked into evil because he's too [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity powerful]], [[LoveMakesYouCrazy obsessed]], and [[{{Pride}} arrogant]] to stop and examine why he's like the way he is.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: As demonstrated in "Masters of All Time" with his "love" for Maddie. Even without the accident that gave him his powers and overall contempt for Jack marrying Maddie, Vlad still grew up to become the same controlling, domineering sociopath we've seen in the present timeline. Even still being rich, married to Maddie, and having Jack as a disfigured outcast didn't make him a better person, showing his malevolent traits are a core part of his character.
* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:Tells Jack, a married man with a family, that he's gonna steal his wife [[EntitledToHaveYou for himself]]. Jack naturally responds to this by [[TheDogBitesBack leaving said creep to rot in space]] as soon as his evil plan fails.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: He doesn't care if Maddie is already HappilyMarried with children, because he wants her to be his wife and her son Danny to be his son. "Masters of All Time", which displays an AlternateTimeline where Vlad and Maddie got married, showed that the relationship would not be a happy one; Vlad appeared to treat Maddie more like a trophy that he won from Jack, rather than his wife.
* LateToTheRealization:
** [[spoiler:After discovering he can't stop an asteroid from destorying the world, which he now can't return to because he revealed his true identity and will be hunted, Vlad begged for Jack's help. Unfortunately since he just show his true colors to Jack, after the latter tried and failed to talk him out of his world domination plan, Jack coldly refused to help him and abandoned to roam space alone. Vlad finally realizes how he took Jack's friendship for granted, but it's too late now as Jack now hates him in return.]]
** Also in "The Ultimate Enemy". [[spoiler:Losing Jack, Maddie, and Danny (the latter of which led to the creation of Dark Danny) in addition to the loss of his ghost powers forced Vlad to finally realize and accept that he took them all for granted. If he had just learned to accept Jack and Maddie's happiness, something that they were trying to ''share'' with him, he could've finally been happy. Instead, he kept trying to kill his best friend and inadvertently pushed away the woman he loved and the boy he wanted as a son until it was too late and they were all taken from him]].
* LaughablyEvil: He's an evil creep, but he has moments of mirth that are fun to watch.
* LikeASonToMe: A very dark deconstruction when it comes to Danny. It's clear that he regards Danny as the son that he feels he should have had with Maddie but he has little-to-no genuine care for Danny as a person, openly admitting that he wants Danny to forsake his morals and act more like Vlad himself does, and he treats Danny's half-ghost status as more proof that Jack stole the life he feels he should have had with Maddie (which only deepens the grudge he has with Danny's father). He goes as far as making multiple attempts to clone Danny to finally get himself the "son" he wants, with all failed clone experiments calling him "father". Though he also claims that once he manages to get a perfect clone, the original Danny will become "[[NeverSayDie obsolete]]" to him (which could very well be an implied case of IfICantHaveYou).
* LockedIntoStrangeness: The flashback of Vlad Masters being transformed in a lab accident involving one of Jack's inventions is where he got his gray hair from.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: His entire motivation is based around being desperately in love with Maddie Fenton, blaming Jack Fenton for taking her away from him and wanting to do everything in his considerable power to remove Jack from the picture so he can move in and take Maddie as his wife, as he believes is his right. [[{{Deconstruction}} However]], in the alternate timeline where he didn't get the powers but married Maddie, he's shown to still be a [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk massive jerk]], refusing to let her do any ghost hunting that she had to eventually do it in secret. So the trope ends up being subverted.
* LoveTriangle: With Maddie and Jack, not that the latter is aware of it. Flashbacks later make it clear that the triangle goes back as far as their college days, though it seems neither Jack nor Maddie were aware about how Vlad felt about Maddie at all before the accident happened and Vlad cut off all contact with them for the following twenty years.
* LovingAShadow: It's unclear whether or not Vlad loved Maddie herself prior to the accident (though the alternate timeline where they did get married indicates "no"). After it, however, he's clearly more in love with the idea of her and that of her family, which consists of a brilliant daughter and a half-ghost son. If he had loved her, ''truly'' loved her, then he would've accepted the fact that she made her choice, that she was happy with it, and tried to move on.
* MadScientist: In addition to being an inventor like his former college mates, Vlad loves to perform unethical experiments on ghosts, such as the mutant ghost animals from "Maternal Instincts" and Danny's multiple clones.
* ManipulativeBastard: Plays with everyone around him like they're pieces in a chess game.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: And an obsession with the Green Bay Packers.
* MayorPain: He runs for mayor of Amity Park in Season 3 and ''wins by a landslide'' -- by [[GrandTheftMe overshadowing all the voters]] -- and remaining in office until the end of the series.
* MeaninglessVillainVictory: It's {{downplayed}} since it isn't a victory he achieved by himself, but [[spoiler:"The Ultimate Enemy" gives Vlad a good part of what he wanted with the Nasty Burger accident: Jack's death and Danny becoming his adopted son. However, his obsession, Maddie, dies there as well, Danny's emotionally compromised situation and Vlad's sympathy for him, and even Jack's death — Jack ultimately was still his friend — mean that Vlad finds no joy in his newfound "victorious" situation. Inadvertently causing Dark Danny's birth and human Danny's death is the nail in the coffin.]]
* MesACrowd: The main power that makes him Danny's superior. Although Danny does get it himself eventually.
* MirrorCharacter: With Danny and (surprisingly) Jack.
** With Danny, both tend to use their powers for selfish means, and, as Vlad pointed out in his first episode, they're both willing to cheaply exploit their enemies' weaknesses to win. The major difference is that there's a hard limit to what Danny is willing to do with his powers, and in the end, he always seeks to do the right thing. Meanwhile, all Vlad cares about is using his powers to benefit himself.
** For Jack, they're both selfish, driven, somewhat amoral and form a very deep line between "them and us". However, Jack knows when to back off if he's taken things too far and is a loving family man; Vlad, however, not so much (see AbusiveParent and {{Hypocrite}} above).
* MotiveDecay: He starts out with a rather sympathetic backstory and an almost understandable motivation: Jack, through sheer idiocy, caused an accident that sent Vlad to the hospital for years, costing Vlad's chance at Maddie, who ended up marrying Jack. As the series goes on and he alienates Maddie after his LoveConfession, his motives change from killing Jack and taking Maddie/Danny as his wife/son to just screwing with Danny and being his antagonist.
* MrFanservice: His human form. However, he's more interested in being this to Maddie.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Danny's first fight in Vlad's debut episode is with a gang of ghost vultures sent to kill Jack. In subsequent appearances, he continues to occasionally express a desire to do away with Jack so he can have Maddie all to himself.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: How he feels about his role in creating [[spoiler:Dark Danny]]. Ten years into the future, he seems to feel this way about his villainous actions in general, including his murderous resentment towards Jack.
* {{Narcissist}}: After gaining his ghost powers, he only uses them to benefit himself as he made himself very rich and manipulate the public to gain good pubilicity and even doesn't care about his former friend while trying to take Maddie away from him without any consent for her feelings as long as its good for him.
* NeverMyFault: He blames Jack for stealing Maddie and his one chance at a happy life. However, "Masters of All Time" defies this. Maddie was completely oblivious to his interests and was either interested in Jack or dating him. Furthermore, even if he had ended up with Maddie, he was still an unpleasant person who treated Maddie more like a possession than a person and was willing to murder Danny just to keep him from restoring the timeline.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Occasionally likes to throw this remark at Danny by reminding him how similar they are other than being half-ghosts. He likely does this to either get under the boy's skin, persuade him to join him, or even both. Danny denies this and makes a point to remind him that they're ''very'' different in terms of responsibility.
* ObviouslyEvil: When in his human form, he doesn't look too much like a bad guy. But when he's in his ghost form, you immediately know that he's evil.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: In his ghost form, he looks like a ClassicalMovieVampire, complete with OminousOperaCape and fangs, though he doesn't display any vampiric traits. In fact, he was originally conceived as an actual vampire. His first name is likely an intentional nod to Vlad Tepes, the man who inspired, and is the namesake, of Count Dracula.
* ParentheticalSwearing: Uses snack foods ("Oh, butter biscuits," "Oh, sugar cookies," etc.) where most people would swear.
* PetTheDog: In "The Ultimate Enemy". [[spoiler:Granted this happened in an alternate timeline, but he takes Danny in after his friends and family are killed. Although smug at first, one look at Danny mourning his loved ones was enough to make Vlad show sympathy and help him. This, unfortunately, led to Dark Danny.]]
* PickOnSomeoneYourOwnSize: He'll revert to ghost form when fighting Danny.
* PoisonAndCureGambit: In "Masters of All Time," when his ecto-acne resurfaces, he approaches Danny for help... and infects Sam and Tucker with the disease as well to ensure Danny ''will'' help him FindTheCure.
-->'''Vlad''': Help me find a cure, or [[NeverSayDie my fate is theirs]].
* PowerDyesYourHair: His hair goes from being gray to black when in ghost form.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Granted, purple with a pinkish hue, but his powers have this colour in contrast to Danny's green, and are visibly more powerful.
* RealMenWearPink: Knits as a hobby, much like Jack.
* RealNameAsAnAlias: He keeps "Vlad" as his first name in his villainous alias.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: In his ghost form, his eyes are a blazing red, his powers showing as a pink or red glow in comparison to Danny's green. His hair also looks a lot like horns, and he grows fangs, giving him a very evil vampiric look, fitting in with his name.
* RescueRomance: {{Deconstruction}}. In the alternate timeline created during "Masters of All Time", Vlad saved Maddie from the malfunctioning portal, earning her affection and eventually marrying her. However, Vlad is overly controlling and possessive of Maddie, even forbidding her from pursuing ghost-hunting and had lied to her, saying that Jack (who had suffered the ecto-acne accident in this timeline) didn't want anything to do with her. Maddie, unwilling to give up her life's work, resorted to ghost-hunting behind his back, clearly resenting him for it. Whether she felt obligated to marry him out of gratitude or simply overestimated his character based on that one seemingly noble act, rescue was clearly not good enough grounds for a lasting romance.
* TheResenter: To Jack Fenton, for stealing the girl of his dreams, and causing the accident that turned him into a half-ghost.
* RevengeBeforeReason: Vlad's hatred for Jack motivated more than half of his schemes, but it bites him the hardest in "Phantom Planet". [[spoiler:He wastes the only missile they had capable of destroying the Disasteroid by purposefully giving Jack the wrong coordinates just to make him look like a fool to the whole world, despite that it was the best shot at saving the world and Vlad could ''still'' have taken credit for it. Once he finds his real plan to make it intangible impossible, he realizes he's stuck in a no-win situation where even if the Earth wasn't destroyed, he's made himself the most wanted man on Earth and not even Jack would help him.]]
* RivalTurnedEvil: Though Jack doesn't see it.
* {{Sadist}}: Loves to see his enemies (Jack and Danny especially) suffer. He even '''laughs''' as he melts Danielle alive into a puddle of ectoplasm, which is clearly shown to be a [[ColdBloodedTorture very slow and painful process]] with her ''screaming in agony''.
* SadisticChoice: [[spoiler:Gives one to the entire planet when he reveals his true nature: to let themselves be destroyed by the Disasteroid -- which ''he'' is responsible for -- or allow Vlad total world supremacy in exchange for him phasing the asteroid harmlessly through the planet. This backfires on Vlad '''big time''' when he learns too late that the Disasteroid cannot be touched nor turned intangible by ghosts (due to being made of ectoranium). This quickly lands him in a no-win situation where, even if the Earth wasn’t in jeopardy, he couldn’t return or he’d be hunted wherever he goes. Thankfully, Danny TakesAThirdOption by instead turning the ''Earth'' intangible, which is what ultimately saves the planet.]]
* ShoutOut: While Lex Luthor is the obvious character Vlad is based on, he's given a few nods to other notable comic book villains. Given the the show is an {{Homage}} and an AffectionateParody to superhero fiction, this seems intentional.
** His face being heavily damaged, in this case with acne, and it being an accident while blaming it on someone he was once friends with brings to mind ''[[Characters/MarvelComicsDoctorDoom Doctor Doom]]''.
** His ghost form's blue-green skin and pointed ears add another iconic comic book villain to the list he borrows from, [[Characters/MarvelComicsNormanOsborn the Green Goblin]]. His [[LikeASonToMe interest in making Danny his son]] is something later incarnations of Norman Osborn also express. Later, his more personal enmity with Danny in Season Three also harkens to Osborn's hatred of Spider-Man, as for most of his publication history, Osborn didn't care about anything ''except'' screwing around with Peter Parker's life. Indeed, all of Vlad's schemes in Season Three had nothing to do with Jack and everything to do with screwing with Danny.
** His relationship with and treatment of Danny is identical to Slade's towards Robin in the animated ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003'' adaptation that began airing shortly before this show.
* SilverFox: Vlad is in his 40s, has silver hair in his human form, and is quite attractive.
* SingleTargetSexuality: You'd think with his vast riches and superpowers, Vlad would have found someone more of a match for him. Instead, the only woman he wants is Maddie, who is married and doesn't have a good opinion of him. To demonstrate that, he has talking holograms of her who are programmed to compliment him and insult Jack, photos of her on his desktop and a stuffed Maddie doll when he goes to sleep.
* TheSociopath: He has all the traits listed on the main page, and his "love" for Maddie is shown to be shallow and mostly for her beauty; in the bad timeline where he gets her, he tries his best to repress Maddie's strong personality and forcibly forge her into a "[[StayInTheKitchen model wife]]".
* StalkerWithACrush: He's utterly fixated on Maddie and wants her for his wife. He bases his holograms off her, has photos of her on his desktop, and goes so far as to sleep with a stuffed doll of her. "Infinite Realms" also reveals that he illegally spies on the entire Fenton family, which most definitely counts as stalking.
* StepfordSmiler: He may act pleasant, but he's a cold, heartless villain underneath the smile. He's also unable to enjoy his vast wealth because it can't get him the one thing he really wants: Maddie.
* StrongAndSkilled: He has all the same powers as Danny and more, and twenty years more experience using them.
* SuperSupremacist: In "Phantom Planet", it's clear he considers having ghost powers makes him a "superior creature" than normal humans.
* ThisCannotBe: His reaction in "The Million Dollar Ghost," when [[BumblingDad Jack Fenton]] of all people hands him his ass.
-->'''Vlad''': It's not possible! You're an idiot! ''An idiot!''\
'''Jack''': [''smugly''] Maybe so, [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass but I'm the idiot who beat you]].
* TragicHero: As "The Ultimate Enemy" shows, Vlad does have the potential to become a good person if he tried, but he's too consumed by spite and envy to ever do so. [[spoiler:By the time he finally realizes what a monster he is, it's too late: he's lost everything and has been stranded in space forever.]]
* TrulySingleParent: He has no biological children, but the Danny Phantom clones he created called him father. Danielle, after he verbally abused her and treated her like a mindless servant, [[YoureNotMyFather renounced her creator as her "father"]]. Granted, being Danny's clones technically make Maddie their biological mother, something Vlad would no doubt be accepting towards.
* UnbalancedByRivalsKid: {{Inverted}}. Vlad actually ''likes'' Danny, in a twisted, FauxAffablyEvil way. His big dream is basically to steal Maddie back from Jack and make Danny his own adopted son, something which ''they'' understandably find unsettling.
* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:The last time he's seen is being hit by the Disasteroid, we don't see if he survived. WordOfGod is that he would have been captured by aliens.]]
* UnknownRival: To Jack, for Maddie's affections. Though it's only because Jack is completely oblivious to Vlad's hatred of him; everyone else, including Maddie, is well aware about what's going on. [[spoiler:That is until the finale when Jack learns just what kind of evil man Vlad has become.]]
* UnderestimatingBadassery: What leads to him losing against Jack Fenton. He also tends to underestimate Danny's abilities and wits.
* VillainDecay: Vlad was once a ''very'' competent arch-foe with an often sympathetic side. Come the third season, he became a shallow crook with few redeeming qualities; his final plan was to force the world to let him save it from a giant meteor in exchange for world domination (an agenda that was poorly conceived) and 500 billion dollars...as if he wasn't already filthy stinking RICH!
* VillainHasAPoint:
** While it's not clear if he ''ever'' had any chance with Maddie, Vlad holds a valid point that Jack ''did'' nearly kill him back in college out of [[IdiotHoudini sheer idiocy]], and left him hospitalized for years. Oddly, while Vlad ''does'' show his bitterness over the incident, he tends to focus more on how it cost him any chance to win over Maddie and rarely brings up how Jack basically ''poisoned him''.
** In "Eye for an Eye", while still a total petty {{Jerkass}} willing to make everyone's lives miserable just to spite Danny, Vlad's not entirely wrong that had Danny not pulled those pranks on him in the first place, he wouldn't have had a reason to retaliate and become the MayorPain of Amity Park in the first place.
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: Vlad started off as Danny's most powerful nemesis, thrashing him to the point where Danny was rendered unconscious and reverted back to human. Something of a subplot for the series was Danny trying to master his ghost powers to the degree Vlad has so that he could beat him in a fight. While Vlad still remains generally stronger than our hero, Danny eventually grows enough in power and skill that he's more of a threat than the nuisance Vlad viewed him as.
* VillainousCrush: He's still obsessed with Maddie after all these years, and her rejection doesn't deter that one bit.
* VillainsOutShopping: He's a fan of the Green Bay Packers and his mansion is full of their merchandise. When Jazz questions why he doesn't just buy the team instead, he says, in a genuinely annoyed sounding voice, that it's because the Packers are owned by Green Bay and they refuse to sell the team to him.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: To the ''extreme''. It seems like the only thing Vlad Masters is more obsessed with than having Maddie as his wife is having her son Danny as his son, solely because the boy is (at the beginning of the series) the only other half-ghost in existence. Eventually, once he realizes Danny is never going to join him willingly, he resorts to cloning Danny to get what he wants. When that scheme fails, Vlad finally gives up on bringing Danny over to the dark side, and almost all his plans from that point on usually involve screwing over Danny as much as he can.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: He was already a well-respected billionaire celebrity, and by Season 3, he's become the mayor of Amity Park, all just to secretly torment Danny. Of course, that [[spoiler:all goes out the window come the GrandFinale, where he reveals his alter ego to the world and offers to save them all from the Disasteroid in exchange for $500 billion and complete control of the whole world. He fails to do so since the Disasteroid is made of a substance that negates ghost powers. Since he can't keep his end of the bargain, Vlad realizes that now that he's revealed his secret and threatened the whole planet, he'll be branded a criminal on Earth and be forever hunted.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: He has one in the Season 2 Finale that continues into Season 3.
* VillainousWidowsPeak: Though not as pronounced as other examples, Vlad clearly has one, furthering his vampire-like appearance.
* VocalEvolution: Played with. In his first appearance, Mull uses a slightly different voice for Vlad's ghost form so that the audience doesn't immediately realize who he really is. Starting from his second appearance onward, Masters' and Plasmius' voices are one and the same.
* WantedASonInstead: Despite Danielle being the closest to being the best clone of Danny, Vlad has no problem letting the girl be melted into a puddle if it meant he could make a perfect copy of Danny to have a ''son'' instead.
* WeCanRuleTogether: The thing he wants most is to marry Maddie and make Danny his son, and he constantly tries to get Danny to come to his side...a tempting offer, as he is the only one Danny can truly relate to as a half-ghost, at least until Danielle's creation.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Towards the oblivious Jack. [[spoiler:Becomes mutual in "Phantom Planet"]].
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: His true feelings towards Danielle, whom he only saw as a disposable imperfect clone. This outburst he gave Danielle says it all:
-->'''Vlad''': [[PunctuatedForEmphasis You! Exist! To serve! ME! JUST! DO IT!]]
* WickedCultured: As shown in the way he talks and dresses.
* WinsByDoingAbsolutelyNothing: In Dark Danny's timeline, [[spoiler: Jack was killed by the Nasty Burger explosion, which for once had nothing to do with him, and Danny came to him on his own. Even Future Vlad is stymied by how anticlimactic and unfulfilling it was]].
* TheWorfEffect: Has been on both sides of this. In many of his earlier episodes, he almost effortlessly defeats Danny. However, when Pariah Dark is set free, '''he defeats Vlad effortlessly!'''
* WouldHurtAChild: When he's not trying to make Danny side with him, Vlad has no problem beating the ghost boy to a bloody pulp, and even subject him to ColdBloodedTorture. He also has no qualms against melting Danielle, whom he merely saw as an expendable clone.
* {{Yandere}}: What else do you call a guy who has been pining for a woman for 20+ years and plots to kill her husband so he can take her and her children? Vlad even owns a Maddie hologram to compliment him on his work, tell him she serves him, and say Jack Fenton is a fool. He even sleeps with a Maddie doll.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: He's roughly the same age as Maddie and Jack, especially since he went to college with both of them. However, his grey hair makes him look considerably older.

The ringmaster of Circus Gothica. He traveled the country with his Goth circus, though it was really a cover. The performers, save for his assistant Lydia, were ghosts under the control of his staff. He used his staff to make them steal from the towns they visited. He's also the only human in the series to be a genuine villain. (All other humans that opposed Danny Phantom were either Vlad, who is half-ghost, or ghost hunters who [[FantasticRacism viewed all ghosts as]] AlwaysChaoticEvil.)
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Based on how he doesn't share the hypnotized look on the Guys in White at the end of "Reality Trip", it's unknown if he remembers Danny Phantom's real identity or not.
* BadBoss: To all his brainwashed pawns. Lydia's the only one he treats with respect, but that's probably just favoritism due to her being his ImpliedLoveInterest.
* BaldOfEvil: He doesn't have a lock of hair on his head and is pretty evil.
* BerserkButton: Because he craves being the center of attention, he won't let anyone upstage him, ''especially'' ghosts. Also, he violently denies that he has Ghost Envy.
* BigBad: Of the third TV movie "Reality Trip", which centers around his efforts to become the "ringmaster of all reality" using the Reality Gauntlet.
* CommonalityConnection: Has a moment where he and Jazz admit to having "Ghost Envy", as in feeling everyone around cares more about ghosts than him.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[WesternAnimation/{{Aladdin}} Jafar]].
** They both use a mind-controlling MagicStaff which is destroyed in their first appearance, and dress in [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver red and black]] clothing.
** His ghost form kinda looks like an evil Genie like Jafar's transformation, and both Danny and Aladdin defeat them by using their pride and envy to trick them into transforming into a form that can be [[SealedEvilInACan sealed into a can]].
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He's genuinely horrified and angered when he sees Lydia in the Guys In Whites' custody.
* ExactWords: He makes a deal with Danny, Tucker, and Sam that he'll let them see their families alive again if they retrieve the Reality Gems. Upon doing so, he does indeed let them see them alive right before moving to kill them.
* FatalFlaw: His flair for the dramatic. He had Danny dead to rights, but deliberately gave him a chance to win simply because making him watch as his family died was "boring".
** [[GreenEyedMonster Envy]]. More specifically "ghost-envy". He was born and raised in a family steeped heavily in the esoteric and supernatural, with implications that his [[ParentalNeglect own parents neglected him]] because of it, giving him a massive [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex Inferiority Complex]] towards ghosts. As an adult, he uses his knowledge over ghosts and associated artifacts to control them, forcing them to commit crimes for him. [[spoiler: This is used against him in "Reality Trip", where Danny uses this to advantage by rubbing his ghostly powers in his face, [[BecomingTheGenie making him easier to capture when he turns himself into a ghost]].]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: Befitting his status as a RepulsiveRingmaster--after escaping the Guys In White with Lydia, he cheerfully suggests that they start scheming as if he were planning a date with her.
* FinalBoss: The final boss fight in the Nick.com game ''Freak For All'' is against him.
* FreudianExcuse: Growing up around ghosts and two ghost-obsessed parents gave him a massive inferiority complex. He also suspects that his audience cares more about his ghosts than about him, which fuels his desire for power and attention.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Although he won't admit it, he's clearly suffering from "ghost envy".
* InTheirOwnImage: He used the Reality Gauntlet to turn the entire world into a circus, with all of the people being clowns and he himself the ringmaster.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Craves to be the center of attention when it comes to his shows. Danny uses this to his advantage.
* LargeHam: As a ringmaster and CardCarryingVillain, Freakshow possesses a flair for the dramatic.
--> "We must flee! But... dramatically!"
* LouisCypher: His stage name is a butchered version of his real name, Frederich Isak Showenhower.
* MeaningfulName: His last name is vaguely anglicized German. If back translated, it means something along the lines of, "He who shapes the shows."
* PracticallyJoker: Physically, he bares resemblance to [[ComicBook/TheJoker the clown prince of crime himself]], complete with the long nose most animated versions of The Joker has. However, outside of looks, laughing and slasher smiles, he has little in common with him.
* RealityWarper: When using the Reality Gauntlet in "Reality Trip".
* RepulsiveRingmaster: He was the ringmaster to a troupe called Circus Gothica, a {{Goth}} group of performers that was secretly his own mind-controlled gang of ghosts that steal valuables for him. In "Reality Trip", he uses the fully-powered Reality Gauntlet to proclaim himself "Ringmaster of all Reality", turning the entire planet into his own personal circus.
* StevenUlyssesPerhero: His real name is '''Fre'''derich Is'''ak''' '''Show'''enhower. Given that he's a circus performer, this is probably intentional on his part.
* TokenHuman: The only (completely) human villain in show.
* UnholyMatrimony: Implied to be this with his [[TheDragon dragon]] Lydia, the only ghost who seems to serve him willingly.
* VillainousHarlequin: Comes from the clown-like look he carries.

[[EvilOverlord Absolute ruler of the Ghost Zone]] until he was [[SealedEvilInACan defeated and imprisoned]], Pariah is far and away one of the most powerful characters to appear in the series, to the extent of effortlessly owning Vlad within seconds of being freed and commanding the allegiance of Fright Knight, another tremendously powerful villain. He was inadvertently released by Vlad, who was looking for his [[ArtifactOfDoom artifacts of doom]], the Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire, and immediately proceeded to conquer both the Ghost Zone and Amity Park. Ultimately, Danny was able to seal him again (with some help), but the Ghost King was not destroyed and may yet be free to walk the world again.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: None of the ghosts like him and Fright Knight only seems to serve him out of fear. [[MeaningfulName Fits since his name is Pariah]], which means something that is despised or avoided.
* BadBoss: He constantly menaces the Fright Knight into submission. At one point he fires a ghost ray at Vlad while the Fright Knight is standing right next to him, injuring him in the process. One can hardly blame him for turning against Pariah at the end of the episode.
* BigBad: Serves as the main villain of the first TV movie upon his release and attempted conquest of Amity Park.
* BroughtDownToBadass: Pariah loses his ring and crown, which enhance his power, at the start of the special. But, he still curbstomps everyone in the show.
* CarryABigStick: When he fights Danny, he uses a mace as his weapon. Humorously, he's also got a bit of a soft-spoken yet gravely voice so he fulfills the "speak softly" part, usually anyway.
* CrownOfPower: Pariah Dark possesses the Crown of Fire, which when used with the [[RingOfPower Ring Of Rage]] enhanced his already impressive abilities to the point of being virtually all powerful. In the ancient times, he used them both to rule over the Ghost Zone with an iron fist.
* CurbStompBattle: Easily gives Vlad (probably the most powerful villain in the series up to this point) a brutal beatdown as soon as he is freed.
* DidntSeeThatComing: He's rather surprised, though more amused than anything, to find half-ghost hybrids exist in the modern age.
* TheDreaded: The Fright Knight, ghost of Halloween and ''nightmares'' serves him out of fear. He’s also this to virtually ''every ghost in the Ghost Zone''.
* EmeraldPower: Has a prominent green in his colour scheme, with green eye, flaming green hair, and both the [[RingOfPower Ring of Rage]] and [[CrownOfPower Crown of Fire]], along with being considered the most powerful ghost in the Ghost Zone.
* EyeBeams: His most common attack and serves as a good shoutout for one of his inspiration.
* EvilOverlord: He ruled the Ghost Zone with an iron-fist before he was overthrown and sealed away.
* {{Expy}}: Physically, he looks similar to Odin of ''Myth/NorseMythology''. Both of them are the central ruler of their domain, both wear an eye patch and, with some versions of Odin, large horns on their headwear. He has a bit of Thor in it too since he uses a bludgeon to fight and can return it to his hand.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: While he does have some fascinating elements to him (such as his view on great power) along with doing some world-building to the Ghost Zone, he ultimately amounts to this in the TV movie he appears in. His reason for going after the human world isn't stated (though given how ghosts fled there, it's likely conquest now that he can get there.) In his defense, he didn't really get to interact with anyone he wasn't fighting.
* HornedHumanoid: Has a pair of horns, but one of them is broken. Unclear whether they're a part of his body or his helmet.
* HorrifyingTheHorror: The Fright Knight is basically the ghost of fear and even he is afraid of this guy! This also applies to the other ghosts who flee the Ghost Zone one he's free.
* LargeHam: Once he starts getting into the swing of battle, his voice booms out in how one would expect a powerful warlord like him to do so.
* PhysicalGod: Is the strongest ghost Danny has ever faced, having conquered the Ghost Zone a long time ago. He's so strong that beating him in a straight fight is impossible, forcing Danny to seal him away forever.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: The former Ghost King, and probably the most powerful ghost to exist and the only one capable of dual-wielding the Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire. Danny had to use his parents' exoskeleton to amplify his powers a hundred-fold just to stand a chance and all he could do was knock the Crown off (and thus weakening Pariah) enough to shove him back into the Coffin of Forever-Sleep.
* RedIsViolent: His powers manifest with a red colour, and was such a [[TheDreaded feared tyrant]] that Danny's entire rogues gallery [[EvilerThanThou considers themselves chump change compared to him]].
* RingOfPower: The Ring of Rage, being one of the artifacts that grants him immense power.
* SealedEvilInACan: He was sealed away in a sarcophagus to free the Ghost Zone from his tyranny.
* SoftSpokenSadist: Speaks softly, but deep and raspy.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Has spikes around his arms.
* UngratefulBastard: How does he repay Vlad for releasing him? By savagely attacking him! To be fair, Vlad only freed him to steal his artifacts, and immediately tried to turn the Fright Knight against him.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatResponsibility: A dark variation of it. When fighting against Danny in the Ecto-Skeleton and notices Danny begin tiring out, he notes on how Danny is feeling the burden of wielding incredible power, likely referring to how only he can wield the powers of the Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire. Danny counters by noting on its ''usage'' being the problem [referring to how he has been handling his power outage against Pariah and also in how he was using his powers to retaliate against Dash earlier in the special, despite Sam's disapproval of him using his power in such a way.]
* WorfHadTheFlu: The insane level of power he shows throughout the TV movie is ''without'' both artifacts needed to use his full potential... and he's ''still'' a borderline unstoppable PhysicalGod!
* WorldsStrongestMan: The ''most'' '''powerful''' ghost to exist, (beating even [[spoiler: Dark Danny.]]) Danny needed a special power suit that amplified his power a ''hundredfold'' to stand a chance and even then, needed to weaken him before sealing him away.

Dark Danny is the main antagonist of ''WesternAnimation/TheUltimateEnemy''. Danny's [[BadFuture alternate future]] counterpart through a fusion between his ghost half and Vlad's after an accident that renders his [[KilledOffForReal family, friends, and teacher dead]] from a [[LocalHangout Nasty Burger]] explosion. He is a straight-to-the-point villain who creates mayhem and destruction in his path with absolutely no guilt for his cause. He is perhaps the most dangerous villain in the show because of his [[EnemyWithout personal nature]] and utter depravity.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: He is hated by all remaining humans and the various ghosts that comprised his RoguesGallery as a teen for inflicting great harm on them. The disdain for him is so strong that the younger version of Danny was attacked by Valerie and the other ghosts simply for either resembling his future counterpart or being a weaker version of him they could defeat in his counterpart's place.
* AbortedArc: The last moments of "The Ultimate Enemy" hinted that he would one day break free, but this never happened. Supposedly, Steve Marmel's plans while he was still part of the show were for Dark Danny to return as the FinalBoss of the series. He would later finally return in ''ComicBook/DannyPhantomAGlitchInTime''.
* ActuallyIAmHim:
--> '''Jack''': [[PapaWolf Where is he? Where's our son?!]]
--> '''Maddie''': [[MamaBear What have you done to our boy?!]]
--> '''Dark Danny''': (''[[EvilLaugh laughing maniacally]]'') I ''AM'' "your boy"!
* AdaptationNameChange: The video game adaptation calls him [[OutgrowingTheChildishName Dan Phantom]]. This name was likely chosen without consent from Creator/ButchHartman, who uses the name "Dark Danny". Technically, neither of these are his actual name, just placeholders to separate him and Danny.
* AllYourPowersCombined: As the fusion of Danny and Vlad's ghost halves, he has both of their movesets at his disposal, on top of having abilities that neither of them on their own had (e.g. ghost portal creation and intangibility fusion).
* AmbiguousSituation: Upon seeing the time medallions on his younger self and his former friends, he reasons that Clockwork was "meddling again". Exactly how he could know Clockwork, much less what were his previous meddling attempts were, are never established. This also raises the question if Clockwork intervening in his past is something he's experienced prior.
* AndIMustScream: Being trapped in the thermos for all eternity. [[AssholeVictim Though it's kind of hard to feel sorry for him due to how evil he is.]]
* AxCrazy: Oh, let's see: The first thing he did upon "reawakening"? Steal the ghostly half of BigBad Vlad Masters (OurGhostsAreDifferent is in full force here) and then killed his own human half in front of Vlad, who viewed Danny as a surrogate son. In his first scenes, he kills at least a dozen people as well and spends much of the episode killing or planning to kill some more. The fact that even Vlad refuses to tell Danny how his human half died speaks ''volumes''.
* TheBadGuyWins: In ''A Glitch in Time'', despite being defeated, he ultimately gets the last laugh as his actions on the timestream require all the events in ''Phantom Planet'' (mostly Danny's involvement) to be undone, thus depriving Danny of the happy life he had finally earned and returning as a HeroWithBadPublicity.
* BadassCape: One major difference between his suit and Danny is that his has a jagged-edged cape.
* BaddieFlattery: Dark Danny comments that Jazz was always smarter than he gave her credit for.
* BeardOfEvil: He has a goatee not dissimilar to Vlad's.
* BewareTheSuperman: Not only is he the worst of all of Danny's enemies, but he's also one of the most powerful, probably only second to Pariah Dark in terms of sheer raw power.
* BigBad: Of the second TV movie, eponymously titled "The Ultimate Enemy". The entire conflict revolves around Danny trying to avoid becoming him, while Dark Danny in turn works to ensure his fate.
%%** And now, he's this to ''ComicBook/DannyPhantomAGlitchInTime''.
* BloodbathVillainOrigin: One of the few villains to have ''every'' condition for it.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: An unintentional case. It's implied by Vlad that he used the process by which he extracted Danny's ghost half to make sure he could no longer feel grief over his family and friend's deaths. [[GoneHorriblyWrong Unfortunately, it also took away all of Danny's kindness and empathy, leaving a monstrous sociopath in his place.]]
* TheBusCameBack: He returns as the main villain of the graphic novel, ''A Glitch in Time''.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: Though he gets annoyed with Jazz trying to stop his plot to cheat on the C.A.T. and brutalizes Danny during their rematch in the present, he kills neither of them due to his belief that this would upset his existence, which he tries to ensure by forcing Jazz's death (along with the rest of his family and friends) via the Nasty Burger explosion.
* CardCarryingVillain: He's not shy about admitting his evil deeds. He even confessed that "[he] surrendered [his] human half a long time ago" in a very proud tone though it was actually the human-half that gave him up.
* CreepyMonotone: Generally tends to speak in a very calm, monotonous voice, unless he's gloating.
* CurbStompBattle: His first fight with Danny and his brief scuffle with Jazz before Danny arrives at the Nasty Burger qualify as this. Both succeed in getting a hit on him, but are otherwise easily overpowered.
* DarkIsEvil: Outright calls himself ''Dark'' Danny and, unlike his [[DarkIsNotEvil younger self]], fits ''every'' bad stereotype associated with his powers.
* DeadpanSnarker: He occasionally says some cruel humorous lines, mostly to break his opponents. Apparently that's the only good thing he still retains from his younger self.
* DeathByIrony: Not a 'death' per se, but his ultimate fate is to be trapped inside the Fenton Thermos. This very same item he used as a child to seal away his own enemies. Made even better by the fact that it was his younger self who trapped him in.
* DeathOfPersonality: The half of him that's Vlad Plasmius appears to be, for lack of a better word, dead. Danny's ghost half overshadowed the former's, giving him full control of this new entity.
* DespairEventHorizon: His StartOfDarkness and the reason Danny asked Vlad to separate his human and ghost halves. It backfired.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Was genuinely surprised when Jazz reveals she knew Danny was half-ghost, something he never expected in the past ten years of his existence.
-->'''Dark Danny:''' ''[to Jazz]'' You always were smarter than I gave you credit for.
* DisappointedByTheMotive: Not him, but multiple characters express this type of reaction at the idea of Danny turning evil because he cheats on a test. [[StableTimeLoop The truth is]] [[FaceMonsterTurn much more complicated]]. The CAT just got the snowball running, it was the ''aftereffects'' that sent him over the edge.
* TheDreaded: That ghost shield over Amity Park was meant to keep him out for a reason. It's implied he's this even for the Ghost Zone.
* EmeraldPower: Less often, but manifests the same green colour with his abilities as his younger self, and is ''much'' more powerful.
* EnemyWithout: In a sense, he's Danny's ghost half, freed from his human side and all of the empathy and compassion. The end result is something far more evil.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He destroys the shield that's been keeping him out for ''years'', and then causes citywide destruction, with his next scene showing he had a lot of fun with it. This shows that he is one of the most powerful characters in the show and that [[ForTheEvulz he greatly enjoys what he does]].
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: More like Evil Has Forgotten How To Comprehend Good, as he doesn't understand [[ScrewDestiny his younger counterpart's desire to prevent his future]] and ''[[SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids laughs]]'' at his desire to save his loved ones. Justified since he's not truly Danny and eliminated his human self, being nothing but an amalgamation of power and negative emotions from the two ghosts he was formed from.
* EvilCounterpart: To Danny Fenton, being his evil future counterpart.
* EvilIsBurningHot: Is frequently associated with fire, in stark contrast to present Danny's (eventual) association with [[AnIcePerson ice]].
* EvilIsNotAToy: It's unclear exactly ''what'' Danny's ghost half was expecting to happen when he ripped out Vlad's ghost half and merged with it, but considering the screams of pain and Vlad noting "my evil overwhelmed you", going full-out evil probably wasn't in the initial plan, though he clearly took a liking to it in the aftermath.
* EvilMakeover: He starts as looking exactly like Danny's ghost form. After fusing with Vlad's ghost half, he gained the bluish skin, red eyes, flaming hair and pointy ears. Ten years later, he has a new outfit as well.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Puberty treated Danny really well.
* EvilTwin: This is more accurately what Dark Danny is. Dark Danny is the ghost-half of Danny that was created when Danny got his powers. The ghost-half of Danny is like a duplicate of Danny with all of his memories and knowledge (who also is the source of Danny's powers) but has none of the conscience or heart. While he may not have been that evil when they were first separated, overshadowing Vlad's ghost half probably overwhelmed and corrupted him as while he was in control of their merged form, Vlad's ghost self was more powerful and contained all of Vlad's negative qualities.
* EvilerThanThou: He’s more evil and dangerous than any of the villains in Danny’s RoguesGallery, with Clockwork even calling him the most evil ghost in the world.
* {{Expy}}: He shares some strong similarities with [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk Maestro.]] They're both an evil future version of the hero and they both want to assure that their past self becomes like them.
** Likewise, he borrows from [[ComicBook/SpiderMan Venom]], being a fusion of one of Danny's worst enemies and another source of great power, having all of Danny's powers and more, and that creepy tongue.
* FaceHeelTurn: He's actually Danny's ghost self grown up. After having his ghost half removed by Vlad, Danny's ghost form inexplicably grabbed the device Vlad used and used it on him before attempting to hijack Vlad's ghost form. Instead, a fusion of the two is formed, creating the monster we see.
* FallenHero: Being a future version of Danny, he qualifies. While technically just his ghost half, it's implied that whatever Vlad did to split them took away any capacity for empathy away from him. Disturbingly, Dark Danny is very happy to be as such and frequently notes that his old self would be horrified by what he's doing before going ahead with it anyway.
* FalseReassurance: When Valerie angrily claims it's Danny's fault that Sam and Tucker died, he blasts her away and notes it's actually ''his'' fault...and Danny's too, eventually.
* FangsAreEvil: He has a pair of vampiric teeth just like Vlad.
* FateWorseThanDeath: He's stuck in that Fenton Thermos forever outside of time.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He's calm and civil to people he's about to kill. He likes to bring up things he would do if he were still Danny before admitting he won't do them at all.
* FinalBoss: Fittingly enough, he is the last boss fought in the Game Boy Advance game adapted from the episode he appeared in.
* FlamingHair: Has white flaming hair tied back in a ponytail. He learns the hard way to keep it away from [[MadeOFExplodium anything flammable]] when Danny sends him crashing into a truck full of oil.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: From bullied high school loser to the most feared entity of the future Amity Park and Ghost Zone.
* FusionDance: He's a fusion between Danny and Vlad's ghost halves. The end result, however, is an evil all his own.
* FutureMeScaresMe: Danny is disturbed and horrified by what he has the potential to create or become if he willingly forgets his humanity. While Dark Danny isn't really Danny but rather his ghost-self (who has all of Danny's powers and memories but without a conscience because he literally killed his) combined with Vlad's ghost self, Danny also knows that he could become Dark Danny if he simply stops caring about morality and starts to believe MightMakesRight.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: The process that split Danny's ghost and human halves apart was designed to make it so that he wouldn't feel grief over his family and friend's death. Unfortunately, it took any capacity for empathy and kindness away from Danny's ghost half in the process.
* GreyscaleOfEvil: Maintains his former black and white/grey costume, even after becoming a bad guy.
* HappyEndingOverride: Deliberately invokes this in ''A Glitch in Time'' where, after Danny's life is finally looking good after the events of ''WesternAnimation/PhantomPlanet''[[note]]having become a global hero, gained his parents as confidants, and he and Sam finally got together[[/note]], Dark Danny decides to travel into the past and change it to alter the present.
* HatedByAll: More and less so than Pariah. Most everyone in his timeline, ghosts and human, ''hates'' him and only Fright Knight seems to serve him willingly.
* HeroKiller:
** Almost succeeds in killing Sam, Tucker, Jazz, and Danny's parents... oh, and [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg Mr. Lancer too]].
** Not to mention the first thing he does when he's created: killing his human half.
* HeroicBuild: He’s actually a villain, but he has the tall, muscular build you’d expect a male superhero to have.
* HeIsAllGrownUp: He's a mature version of Danny and surely he doesn't look bad at all.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Dark Danny mentions that he always underestimated Jazz's brains. When he tells her where the real Danny is, floating in the Ghost Zone ten years in the future, he doesn't realize she can concoct a plot to find him.
* HumanDisguise: As part of his intent to create a StableTimeLoop, he returns to the past and takes the form of his original human teen self to blend in so he can set up everyone he needs to die in the explosion. Just to highlight his LackOfEmpathy, seeing said face in the mirror elicits no more reaction than a casual, almost annoyed "same old face".
* IHatePastMe: He considers Danny "a child" for wanting to be and doing good. Also, the fact that in the past he killed his own human half shows how deeply he must dislike his younger self.
* InvincibleVillain: At most, Valerie, Jazz, and Danny are only able to graze or momentarily injury him with a surprise attack. Even after getting hit with the Ghostly Wail ''twice'', and having a building collapse on him, He's still able to stand and summon enough strength to free himself from the debris.
* {{Jerkass}}: Sam and Tucker call him a jerk at several points.
* KnightOfCerebus: By far one of the most menacing villains Danny faced. Unlike any villain this series, or any by Creator/ButchHartman, there is almost nothing humorous or lighthearted about him aside from his DeadpanSnarker tendencies, and even then he mostly uses them to KickTheDog.
* LackOfEmpathy: Tries to kill his parents, older sister, Tucker and Sam without a moment's hesitation, and taunts Danny about how fighting him is futile. Justified as he killed the half of him that feels remorse, empathy, and kindness.
* LeakingCanOfEvil: The Fenton Thermos is ''barely'' containing him, even with Clockwork's supervision, though Clockwork has already foreseen its failure and Dark Danny's inevitable defeat anyway.
* LightIsNotGood: His skin is pale blue, he has white flaming hair, a good portion of his outfit is white, and he is by and large Danny's worst enemy.
* MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight: In the ''A Glitch in Time'' graphic novel, upon finally getting free from the Fenton Thermos, he decides to get revenge on Danny by traveling into past and altering it to mess up Danny's present-day life.
* MergerOfSouls: Is a fusion between Danny's ghost half and Vlad's ghost half. Since Danny is the one who caused the merger by overshadowing Vlad, that makes Danny the dominant half. This is why he's treated as an older Danny though he's more of an EnemyWithout.
* MrFanservice: Beyond his voice, he is a tall and well-built man.
* NearVillainVictory: Technically speaking, he ''did'' succeed in preventing Danny from saving his friends and family. He just didn't count on Clockwork intervening by reversing time and saving them himself.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: His actions enable Danny to learn [[SuperScream Ghostly Wail]] earlier than he did, and he ended up being responsible for Danny never becoming him.
** A smaller one, when he reveals to Jazz his affiliation to Vlad. She then manages to transmit the information to Danny, which ultimately allows him to find his way back home, fight him, and eventually defeat him. Present Danny probably wouldn’t have made it in time in the present if he didn’t know Vlad’s implication in Dan’s birth beforehand.
* NothingIsScarier: We never ''do'' find out how he killed his human self upon creation. Future!Vlad simply tells Danny that "some things are better left unsaid."
* NoSell: According to Skulktech 9.9 their special ghost ray the Phantom Palm Pummeler doesn’t work on Dark Danny. Apparently the Fenton Specter Deflector cannot weaken Dark Danny’s powers. Even more impressive he was able to survive an oil explosion and remain unscathed before ripping the belt off with ease (a feat Vlad failed to do when he wore the belt).
* ObviouslyEvil: Surely someone with [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]], [[FangsAreEvil fangs]], FlamingHair, and [[PutTheLaughterInSlaughter a love of destroying people]] [[SchmuckBait would be a swell guy to know]], [[SarcasmMode right]]?
* OmnicidalManiac: Apparently. No actual onscreen deaths occur but it's heavily implied he's a mass murderer that's destroyed most of the Earth's population if what we see of the world outside the ghost shield was like is anything to go by.
* ParadoxPerson: After the events of "The Ultimate Enemy." He still exists, despite his future being negated, and according to the Observants, he now exists outside of time itself.
* PragmaticVillainy: He ''only'' refrains from killing Danny because he knows that, since Danny ''is'' his past self, he will be RetGone if he does.
* PutTheLaughterInSlaughter: Has a HELL of a time destroying the futuristic Amity Park.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: He dishes one out to Jack and Maddie, pointing out how, despite being experts on the paranormal, they've [[ParentalObliviousness never once noticed that Danny was half-ghost]].
-->'''Dark Danny''': What kind of parents are you anyway? The world's leading ghost experts, and you can't figure out that your ''own son'' was half-ghost! Hello! Danny ''Fenton''. Danny ''Phantom''. Ever notice the similarity? Jazz did.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: In a similar vein to Vlad's ghost form.
* RetGone: As much as he brutalizes Danny during their fights, he avoids killing him to avoid this.
* SatanicArchetype: He is a FallenHero who has brought destruction and suffering to the entire Earth and has a [[PlayingWithFire fiery]] [[EvilIsBurningHot motif]]. Not to mention that him being imprisoned in the Fenton Thermos mirrors the Devil's own imprisonment in Hell. [[FreezeFrameBonus If one looks closely]] during the FinalBattle, they will see that he has the forked tongue of a snake, an animal commonly associated with Satan.
* SealedEvilInACan: He was sealed away in a Fenton Thermos and left with Clockwork, though for how long is unknown.
* SelfMadeOrphan: He didn't just try to kill his human half's parents, he tried to ''[[AxCrazy kill his sister, his friends, and his teacher]]''... just to secure his own future.
* ShadowArchetype: Represents what Danny could have been had he given into despair and purged his emotions. In a sense, [[EnemyWithout he's Danny's ghost half]] who freed himself from his human side, but in the process, became a remorseless, sadistic and evil monster totally devoid of empathy and compassion.
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: Danny's trying to stop him from killing the people closest to him because he promised to not turn evil? Ha! Such a child.
* SlasherSmile: Frequently displays these whenever things go his way.
* TheSociopath: All started when Danny made Vlad remove what he believed started his misery and caused him pain. The result became this and Dark Danny is proud of it.
* SoftSpokenSadist: He rarely raises his voice and talks in a genuinely charming and polite tone but he also craves destruction ForTheEvulz and makes no effort to hide that.
* SuperScream: His Ghostly Wail. It took him ten years to master the move though. He got ''really'' pissed when his past self mastered it quicker.
* SuperSmoke: At one point in his introduction, instead of turning intangible, he turns into a cloud of green mist [[MadeOfAir to tank laser fire]].
* TemporalParadox: Winds up causing one while trying to ensure his own creation. Whoops.
* ThisCannotBe: His reaction when Danny uses the Ghostly Wail on him, a power that took him ten years to develop. It's hammered home because, ''immediately'' before this, he had bragged about how Danny's FaceHeelTurn was an inevitability, reasoning that all major points in the timeline were fixed due to him not undergoing a CessationOfExistence even after frightening Danny with his appearance. The fact that Danny learned the Ghostly Wail 10 years before he did ''completely'' refutes this argument in an instant, indicating that it is possible for Danny to change his future. The revelation leaves him so stunned that he's unable to properly counter Danny's Wail, and he's then sucked into the Fenton Thermos afterwards.
-->'''Dark Danny''': That power! It's not possible! I don't get that power until 10 years from now!
-->'''Danny''': [[PreMortemOneLiner I guess the future isn't as set in stone as you think it is.]]
* ThisIsYourBrainOnEvil: He's an older version of Danny with his conscience and the part of him that can feel positive emotions removed, leaving him a sadistic monster.
* TooPowerfulToLive: Dark Danny was so powerful that the Observants were forced to ''directly interfere'' with the time stream itself (via Clockwork) in order to prevent his reign of destruction on Earth and in the Ghost Zone. In fact, he is too powerful to return because of how much it took to defeat him in the first place.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Somewhat {{averted|Trope}} as Dark Danny isn't really that kid but only half of him. However, that half, as shown in "Identity Crisis", was a kindhearted dork who took pride in being a superhero. The half that forcibly took Vlad's ghost half was shown to be hostile and very much ''not'' heroic and taking Vlad's ghost half made him even worse.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: The show, while carrying serious arcs, is still aimed at children and has a fair amount of comedy and positive fluff. Dark Danny not only commits mass murder as his introduction, but he has no compunctions about harming kids and former loved ones.
* VillainHasAPoint: It's hard not to agree with Dark Danny when he mocks Jack and Maddie Fenton for failing to realize their son is half-ghost despite being the world's leading ghost experts, especially when the names ''Danny Fenton'' and ''Danny Phantom'' sound very similar.
* WalkingSpoiler: We can't even tell you his name without giving away TheReveal.
* WorldsStrongestMan: He's the strongest entity of the show, barring [[PhysicalGod Pariah Dark]]. He single handedly brought ruin to the human and ghost world and Danny was on the ropes the whole time until he unlocked his own Ghostly Wail. In fact, he was a being so powerful that he had to be erased from the timeline ''[[TooPowerfulToLive entirely]]''.
* WouldHurtAChild: Regardless if they are his old friends or his sister.
* YouCantFightFate: According to him, anyway.
---> "Me? My future? I'm ''inevitable''."
** Danny eventually shows his evil counterpart that his dark future is ''not'' inevitable by unlocking the Ghostly Wail ten years earlier than he did.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: Dark Danny looks like a man in his early-to-mid 20s, but is chronologically 10 years old.

A HarmlessVillain, Box Ghost's main shtick is anything cardboard and square (and the occasional bubble wrap). Consistently pathetic and easy to beat, he remains determined to be taken seriously. He TookALevelInBadass in the BadFuture, becoming incredibly muscular and gaining the ability to form exploding boxes out of energy.
----
* BigBadWannabe: Talks a big game, but no one pays much attention to him.
* ButtMonkey: Frequently. Skulker likes using him as bait, for starters.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "I am the Box Ghost!" "BEWARE!"
* EveryoneHasStandards: While he's considered to be an annoyance by everyone around him, even he finds Klemper to be annoying and refuses to be friends with him.
* EyepatchOfPower: Is seen sporting one in the BadFuture.
* FailedAttemptAtScaring: He's the one ghost that can't scare any of the easily spooked humans of Amity Park.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: He's treated as just as much of a joke by the rest of Danny's enemies as he is by the heroes. Skulker in particular seems to enjoy pushing him around. That being said, they never object to his presence when they are all seen together. The only one who seems to like him is Klemper, but the Box Ghost in turn finds him annoying.
* FutureBadass: In the BadFuture where Danny [[spoiler:became Dark Danny]], Box Ghost is far from the bumbling incompetent spectre Danny knows.
-->"''[[IronicEcho Beware]]''."
* HarmlessVillain: Up until he steals PandorasBox. Once that was done, he was given his own Wanted Poster.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Being able to control boxes and their contents seems kinda of a meh power... however, this includes ''all'' boxes, ''including '''Pandora's''' box.''
** A more heartwarming example in the Christmas special; the Box Ghost is the first to make his contribution to saving Christmas known, by way of repairing all the presents that got smashed earlier in the episode.
* HookHand: His BadFuture self has a two-prong harpoon replacing one of his hands.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Mostly boxes, but him being one of the few with telekinesis can also attack with the items packed inside the boxes, as Danny can testify. And then there's Pandora's Box with its contents. Then there's his future self who can create and throw energy boxes.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: So much so that nobody really cares whether he's on the loose or not.
--> '''Box Ghost''': Hey! I have feelings too, y'know!
* LargeHam: He's quite bombastic when announcing himself.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Goofy and unimpressive he is to the point where his bounty isn't even worth much (shown in "Boxed Up Fury" to be "$2.50 or Best Offer" and bumped up to 50 dollars at the end of the episode), he did once knock Danny out and almost skewered him with scalpels. Granted Danny was still new at being a superhero at the time. He's also shown to be pretty strong in the future and PandorasBox gave him one hell of a power up.
* {{Poltergeist}}: He has the power to control boxes, as well as their contents.
* TeamRocketWins: In "Splitting Images" he actually manages to defeat Danny in a fight pretty handily. By the end of the same episode he escapes without being sent back to the Ghost Zone.
* TookALevelInBadass: His future self is far more serious and powerful. He also gained a power boost from PandorasBox which temporarily made him one of Danny's most difficult enemies to beat.
* TopHeavyGuy: Much like Jack Fenton, Box Ghost has a rectangle body with short stubby legs. His BadFuture self gains a more muscular physique, similar to Skulker.
* UnholyMatrimony: With the Lunch Lady in at least one future. Team Phantom is [[NoYay heavily squicked out by this]].
* UnknownRival: To Danny, who couldn't care less about him.
* WorkplaceAcquiredAbilities: It is implied that he was a longshoreman when he was still alive.

Her goal is to serve food to everybody, but she goes into a homicidal rage if people refuse. She doesn't like vegetables.
----
* AffablyEvil: Despite her lack of morals, she's sweet and grandmotherly -- well, [[MoodSwinger sometimes]].
* AngryChef: Gets really ticked off when people change her menus.
* ApronMatron: Can go from kind and motherly when offering food to vicious and bloodthirsty when her food is rejected.
* BerserkButton: Changing the Casper High cafeteria menu will drive her insane, but either accepting or refusing the food she randomly offers to people in the middle of her fights also works.
* ChefOfIron: Can control food and form a body made of meat.
* EvilChef: Tries to kill people who don't like her cooking.
* FinalBoss: She is the final boss in the Game Boy Advance version of the ''Urban Jungle'' video game, for some reason being fought directly after the final battle with Undergrowth.
* FoodBasedSuperpowers: Has the ability to control food, summon it, and even transform herself into a meat monster.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Her power is similar to Box Ghost, except she can telekinetically control food, cups, plates, utensils, anything that has to do with a kitchen.
* LethalChef: It's not that the food's bad so much as that it will ''kill you''.
* MoodSwinger: She talks very sweetly one minute, then screams at the top of her lungs in a blind rage the next.
* ObsessedWithFood: More like Obsessed With Meat, but still. She claims that lunch is sacred, and worships meat to the point of proclaiming it the source of discipline, manners, and respect.
* PlayingWithFire: She can control fire by transforming ovens into fire-breathing monsters.
* {{Poltergeist}}: She has the power to control food and kitchen objects.
* SeriousBusiness: Implied to be the ghost of a former lunch lady of Casper High, she's excessively conservative about the Casper High cafeteria menu. She has the power to detect if it's been changed, and will try to get revenge on whoever does it. It might be somewhat justified in the first episode, since Sam unilaterally changed the ''entire'' menu, but ''Phantom Planet'' reveals she gets outraged even if they just happen to serve veggie burgers.
-->'''Lunch Lady Ghost''': I control lunch! Lunch is ''sacred!'' LUNCH HAS ''RULES!'' [[MoodSwinger Anybody want cake?]]
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: In "Prisoners of Love", she summons a gigantic chicken leg as a weapon.
* StarterVillain: She's the primary villain of the first episode, and the first ghost that Danny captures with the Fenton Thermos. She never appears again as a primary villain.
* UnholyMatrimony: With the Box Ghost in at least one future. Danny is reasonably grossed out by the idea.
* WorkplaceAcquiredAbilities: She was a former chef of Casper High.

One of the show's most recurring villains, Skulker is a ghost obsessed with hunting to such an extent that he's considered the Ghost Zone's greatest predator. Growing bored, he looked to the human world for a challenge and fixated on Danny, whose hybrid nature made for an endlessly exciting hunt. In the BadFuture, he merged with Technus to become Skulktech 9.9.
----
* BadassBiker: He certainly looks like one.
* BeardOfEvil: A glowing green goatee.
* {{BFG}}: There are a lot of improbably huge guns built into that battlesuit.
* CoDragons: Danny's second most recurring villain behind only [[BigBad Vlad]] himself, whom he also occasionally works for as his main muscle alongside Valerie.
* EgomaniacHunter: Hunts other ghosts for sport. He even keeps trophies.
* EnemyMine: On several occasions. He even says once, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. ...For now."
* EvilSoundsDeep: He's a villain with a deep voice, and his voice gets deeper as the series goes on.
* {{Expy}}: Of Kraven the Hunter, being a supervillainous big-game hunter who wants to make the main character his quarry.
* FlamingHair: Has glowing green flames for hair.
* HumiliationConga: In his first appearance, he accidentally hooks up his battlesuit to Tucker's PDA. Since said PDA holds Danny's schedule, Skulker is forced to follow, being jerked around like a puppet by his own armor. Things only get worse when Tucker realizes he can change the schedule using his other PDA and forces Skulker to do push-ups and polish his armor.
* HunterOfHisOwnKind: He's a ghost who proudly hunts other ghosts.
* HuntingTheMostDangerousGame: Targets other ghosts, and takes a particular interest in Danny Phantom.
* TheManBehindTheCurtain: The real Skulker is a tiny and pathetically weak ghost; the body most people see is just a high-tech suit. As he spends almost all of his time in the suit, however, this isn't a huge weakness.
* MobileSuitHuman: At the end of his first episode, it's revealed that what appears to be his body is actually a mecha operated by a much smaller ghost.
* PoweredArmor: His body turns out to be a GiantMecha of sorts for a small, weak ghost.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Introduced in “One Of A Kind” and soon becomes one of the most frequently used villains in the series. In fact, behind only Vlad himself!
* TopHeavyGuy: As a bounty hunter, he (or rather his suit) has a muscluar upper body and short legs.
* VillainDecay: In his first appearance he was genuinely menacing, and had Danny looking over his shoulder scared. Fast forward to "Micro Management", where Danny could defeat him in a few blasts, and only became a threat when Danny lost his powers. It reached its peak in "Girls Night Out", where a bird chased him off.
* WorthyOpponent: He and Danny hate each other, but do seem to respect each others' abilities to the extent of [[EnemyMine teaming up]] several times when a bigger threat comes around. He even states as much in the series finale.

Another common enemy, Technus is an eccentric ghost with formidable technological powers and the goal of WORLD DOMINATION -- who gets defeated in every appearance, largely due to his bad habit of shouting his plans at the top of his lungs (though his upgrade into Technus 2.0 helped him break that habit). Nonetheless, as long as he can possess sufficiently advanced machinery, he can be quite formidable. In the BadFuture, he merged with Skulker to become Skulk Tech.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Technus is a hammy, silly villain who monologues a lot, but he's also a genuinely dangerous fighter and can fight Danny quite well even in his early appearances.
* CloudCuckoolander: Prior to being upgraded his plans were skewed towards the bizarre.
* CoolShades: Square ones that seem to lack a nosepiece.
* CyberGreen: As befitting a master of technology (and on top of this show's tendency to associate these colors with ghosts), his mechanized forms heavily use a palette of black and bright green.
* EinsteinHair: Before his upgrade he had white FlamingHair that gave him this look.
* ElectromagneticGhosts: He can possess and interfere with electronic devices.
* FinalBoss: He is the final boss faced in the Nick.com game ''Portal Peril/Portal Problem''.
* GenreBlindness: Very much so in his original form, doing things like blurting out his plans and spending hours monologuing. His upgrade negated this, though (although he does tend to occasionally slip up).
* InformedAttribute: According to Danny, Technus apparently hates emotions and is implied to be unable to understand them all that well. However, Technus displays a wide range of emotions and is apparently knowledgeable enough about them to instigate a love affair between Danny and Valerie to serve his needs. He was also able to notice and lampshade Sam's unrequited love for Danny even before Danny could.
* LargeHam: "I AM TECHNUS! MASTER OF ALL THINGS ELECTRICAL!"
* ManipulativeBastard: After his upgrade, much to Danny's surprise, who assumed he wouldn't do it because he hates emotions.
* MeaningfulName: Named after UsefulNotes/NikolaTesla, known best for his work in electrical currents (as well as being the source for many MadScientist tropes).
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Interfacing with the Fentons' computer allowed him to transform into 'Technus 2.0'. Not only did it give him a new look and stronger powers, it came with a huge boost in cunning. Overall, it made him far more formidable than he was before.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Paulsen shows off his Creator/GilbertGottfried impression here.
* {{Poltergeist}}: He can possess and control any technological item.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When his shades are off, even though it's only shown in his first appearance.
* SealedEvilInACan: Spent a fair amount of episodes imprisoned in [[MinusWorld Level Zero]] of the ''Doomed'' video game.
* ShipperWithAnAgenda: He pushes Valerie and Danny closer together into a relationship to distract both of them while he works on his larger plans in "Flirting With Disaster".
* ShockStick: He's sometimes shown with a technological staff capable of generating electricity. It became a plot point once in a later episode.
* TakeOverTheWorld: His stated goal.
* {{Technopath}}: Technus has the power to possess and upgrade technology, which he uses to forge powerful weapons and battlesuits. Technus can also summon technology and bend it to his will to do whatever he says, even from afar. He commonly refers to himself in some form of "Technus! Ghost Master of Technology!" because of this.
* TookALevelInBadass: As the series goes on, Technus becomes more and more dangerous due to his upgrades and eventually loses most of his more quirky features in his upgrade into Technus 2.0. In the end, he goes from silly supervillain to a world-threatening menace.
* TotallyRadical: Tries to sound "hip and far out" around Team Phantom in one episode.
* VillainRespect: After Danny gives him two great ideas in the same episode, he praises Danny's intelligence, though whether he was being serious or not on either occasion is anybody's guess.

A ghost [[OurGeniesAreDifferent genie]] who is forced to grant people's wishes, most of them resulting a terrible price on the wisher. As a human, Desiree was the Sultan's favored lover of his harem, a love she gave back. The Sultan's jealous wife drove her away, forcing her to remain vindictive and heartbroken throughout the series.
----
* BatmanGambit: At one point, she began stalking Team Phantom when she saw that Danny and Sam were arguing. She was waiting for the point when one of them used the magic words, "I wish I never met you!" [[spoiler:without Sam as Danny's friend, he never became Danny Phantom, and Desiree took advantage to remove Danny as an obstacle for her plans involving [[MakeAWish a meteor shower]]]].
* BeatItByCompulsion: A drawback to her powers is that she has to grant ''every'' wish someone makes in front of her, even if it's a wish that can be used against her (such as wishing she'd be in the Fenton Thermos).
* BedlahBabe: She was a [[RoyalHarem harem girl]] for a time when she was still alive.
* BenevolentGenie: There are hints that she was this for some time after her death, but her inability to see her own desires fulfilled combined with the blatantly selfish nature of most of the wishes she granted eventually drove her to become a JackassGenie.
* BreakTheCutie: In her backstory, Desiree was a harem girl who caught the sultan's eye. He promised her heart's desire and for this, she was banished by the sultan's jealous wife. After her death, she tried granting people's wishes to give them the happiness she could never have, but was driven evil by the selfish nature of everyone's desires and her own bitterness.
* DeathByDespair: She died of a broken heart (along with old age) after being denied her heart's desire promised to her by her lover, and then being driven away from him by his jealous wife.
* DualBoss: In the ''Urban Jungle'' licensed game's Boss Battle mode (a boss rush where Danny has to endure boss fights against ghost villains who aren't fought in the main game), the penultimate battle is against her fighting alongside Penelope Spectra.
* FaceHeelTurn: Though she's always evil in the show proper, her backstory implies that in the past she genuinely used her powers to help others.
* GreenAndMean: Her skin is a deep green, and she's a JackassGenie ''par exellence''.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: She has the largest bust-waist-hips ratio in the entire show.
* JackassGenie: Grants other people’s wishes, but does so in a way that's sure to cause havoc. Interestingly, the images used in her backstory suggest she didn't always act this way, but started to out of spite over her own wish never being fulfilled.
* LiteralGenie: Became one after she "died of a broken heart... and old age".
* LogicalWeakness: As a ghost who styles herself as a genie, she's compelled to grant the wishes of others by nature. So, Team Phantom tends to use her nature against her as she can't stop herself from granting a wish that she hears, including wishes that are detrimental to her, leading to her being quickly defeated.
* MakerOfMonsters: She often produces ghosts as a result of her wish granting.
* MeaningfulName: It sounds like "desire," fitting for a genie.
* MsFanservice: She was the harem girl of a sultan whilst she was still human, sports an outfit that shows her navel, and has an ImpossibleHourglassFigure on top of that.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Desiree died of old age when she was human. Her youth was clearly restored when she became a ghost.
* OurGeniesAreDifferent: A genie who's also a ghost.
* RealityWarper: Her powers are generally limited to whatever (imaginative) people wish for.
* SelfDisposingVillain: In both her central episodes, she's defeated by a wish she grants, firstly by being wished into the Fenton Thermos and secondly by returning Danny his memories and skills to beat her. Following her second defeat, she even acknowledges that she needs to stop granting every wish within earshot.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: She can transform her hands into weapons like hammers and ropes.
* TragicVillain: She died of a broken heart (and old age) after having her dreams ruined. She tried to make others happy by granting their wishes, but their selfish desires and her bitterness over not having her own wish granted turned her evil.
* {{Wishplosion}}: She grants wishes and has no choice but to do so. In fact, in her debut episode, she was defeated when Danny wished that she got sucked into the Fenton Thermos. In her second appearance, she's implied to have grown strong enough that she no longer ''has'' to grant any wish she hears but ends up doing so anyway out of excitement. This was also the reason she wasn't used much (besides her VA being busy) since the writers [[InvincibleVillain couldn't think of any other way to beat her]].

A ghostly sheriff obsessed with maintaining order at any cost, Walker doesn't have as many appearances as some of the other rogues' gallery members, but is still a very significant villain for being the ghost who reveals the existence of ghosts to the world at large and is responsible for Danny's rep as a HeroWithBadPublicity.
----
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler:His scheme to discredit Danny in "Public Enemies" actually succeeds, despite Maddie sending him back to the Ghost Zone.]] Played straight before he is sent back into the Ghost Zone and taunts Danny on how he's made Danny an enemy of both his hometown and the Ghost World.
-->'''Walker:''' Feared on Earth and Wanted in the Ghost Zone! You've lost, Ghost Kid! LOST!
* BaldOfEvil: In "Call of the Wild", the top of his hat is destroyed, revealing he's bald underneath.
* CatchphraseInsult: He always calls Danny “punk”.
* CharacterCatchphrase: “That’s against the rules.”
* ControlFreak: He seeks to exert order in the chaos of the Ghost Zone by imprisoning whatever ghost that breaks ''his'' rules.
* EasilyForgiven: Though in his initial appearance he's just as much (if not moreso) of an enemy to the RoguesGallery as Danny is, later on he is shown with the other ghosts without any problems.
* EvilPlan: In "Public Enemies" he pulls off one almost perfectly, turning the whole town against Danny as revenge for Danny causing a prison break in his dimension while suffering no lasting consequences himself beyond being sent back to the Ghost Zone.
* EvilSoundsDeep: He has a deep voice to underscore his intimidating nature.
* ForTheEvulz: In "Claw of the Wild", Walker affirms to Danny that he has no real reason to keep all of the humans he kidnapped (other than to keep them silent), as long as he gives him back Wulf. Unsurprisingly, [[ILied Walker goes back on this promise and traps Danny anyway]], having every intention to keep him, the humans, and Wulf trapped in his prison forever altogether. It turns out, he kidnapped the humans (and other ghosts previously) just because he likes it.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: For some reason, he never turns giant while fighting his enemies.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Walker sometimes travels to the human realm to try and catch Danny, even though “trespassing” between the human realm and the Ghost Zone is one of his rules, and is in fact the rule he wants to imprison Danny for breaking.
* InspectorJavert: If something from the real world goes into the Ghost World, they are breaking the rules and will be arrested ''without exception'', even if a person from the real world enters the Ghost World specifically to remove something from the real world that floated in.
* TheJailer: Runs a prison in the Ghost Zone made up of ghosts he captures from their own dimensions, including powerful members of Danny's Rogues Gallery.
* JudgeJuryAndExecutioner: He's also [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment executioner and executioner]]. He ''really'' enjoys that part of the job.
* KickTheDog: He used a shock collar to torture Wulf, and later tries to put it on Sam so he can torture her while Danny is ForcedToWatch.
* KnightTemplar: Even {{Felony Misdemeanor}}s are enough of an excuse for him to arrest and jail you.
* MeaningfulName: Clearly intended as an {{evil|Counterpart}} Series/WalkerTexasRanger.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He brings up bringing order in his prison to combat the chaos of the Ghost Zone. However, considering he goes as far as to make things worst for Danny in the real world, and kidnapping teens who get in his way, he's clearly just a ControlFreak.
* {{Sadist}}: As mentioned above, Walker really enjoys executing prisoners.
* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem: His attitude regarding his "rules." In his EstablishingCharacterMoment, he arrests Danny, ''then'' makes what Danny was doing at the time illegal. He also breaks his rule against traveling between the Ghozt Zone and the human realm by traveling to the human realm to catch Danny.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: When he appears for the first time, he turns giant.
* TookALevelInBadass: He's a lot more formidable in "Public Enemies" than he is in his first appearance in "Prisoners of Love". And he was a pretty formidable foe to begin with, to boot.
* YouExclamation: His final line of the series, as it turns out. In his final fight with Danny, the latter feints an attack by charging at Walker only to turn back into his human form so that he can phase through Walker and appear on the other side. Walker, furious, offers this in response, and Danny immediately freezes Walker in a block of ice before eventually leaving him trapped in the Ghost Zone.

On the outside, Spectra looks to be a kind, perky woman who just wants to help teenagers and their depression. In reality, she is a VainSorceress ghost who sucks in their emotions to further her youth and beauty. Beneath that bubbly personality, Spectra is sadistic and immoral.
----
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Pretends to be a caring psychologist when she really is out only for herself.
* BreakThemByTalking: A very defining trait of hers. She often tries demoralizing her opponents since she needs negativity to function.
* ClippedWingAngel: What her "new perfect body" turns out to be in "Doctor's Disorders", because Danny managed to sneak his father's DNA (a handkerchief covered with snot) in the machine creating it. First her body assumes a physique like his, then turns into snot.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In "My Brother's Keeper", she seems to have a good relationship with Bertrand, but in "Girls' Night Out", she's irked by his presence.
* CrazyPrepared: In her debut episode, she keeps the air conditioner on full blast, so people in her office are always seeing their own breath. However, when Danny sees a photo with his ghost sense (which looks like fogged-up breath) going off while he was in the hall, he realizes that Spectra used it to hide the fact that she was a ghost.
* DevilishHairHorns: Sports these in her human form.
* DualBoss: The penultimate battle in the ''Urban Jungle'' licensed game's Boss Battle mode (a boss rush where Danny has to endure boss fights against ghost villains who aren't fought in the main game) has her fighting alongside Desiree.
* EmotionEater: Feeds off of despair and depression.
* EvilRedhead: In her human form.
* FatalFlaw: {{Exploited|Trope}} as part of her MO. She feeds off of negativity, which she gets by acting as a high school psychologist and picking at the one thing her "patients" are the most insecure about. For Dash, it's his future; for Paulina, it's her beauty; for Danny, it's his competence.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Part of her shtick as TheShrink. Oh yes, she ''says'' she'll help you with your problems, but in truth she'll only kick you while you're at your lowest so that she can feed on your misery.
* FirstNameBasis: She's one of the few villains who addresses Danny by his name instead of "ghost child" or some insult.
* FountainOfYouth: She needs the depression of teenagers to keep her youth.
* HeadTurningBeauty: Her new form in "Doctor's Disorders" really impresses Tucker, who mistakes her for a model.
* LastNameBasis: Almost nobody calls her Penelope, probably because it doesn't sound very ghostly. "Doctor's Disorders" is the only time her full name was ever said.
* LivingShadow: What her ghost form looks like.
* LooksWorthKillingFor: Downplayed. Penelope is a ghost who becomes Amity Park High's school counselor and purposely lowers the students' self-confidence, then uses their negativity to keep herself looking young and beautiful.
* ManipulativeBitch: She loves to manipulate teens into misery, especially Danny.
* MixAndMatchMan: In "Doctor's Disorders" she had instigated a plague among Amity High's student body to covertly collect their DNA when quarantined to build herself a body with their best qualities. Danny sabotages it so she gets his father's physique, then turns into snot.
* MsFanservice: Doesn't apply to her [[FightingAShadow true form]], but her human form ranks up there with [[EvilDiva Ember]] and [[BedlahBabe Desiree]].
* PsychoPsychologist: In "My Brother's Keeper" she was hired to be the school's shrink, but ended up being a ghost who just wanted to torment the students.
* {{Sadist}}: While she feeds off of misery and despair, it's shown that she also gets a rather depraved form of pleasure from causing it.
* TheShrink: Her disguise in her debut.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: At least in her human form. Her eyes are also a subtle indicator that she's a ghost.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: She's the huge girl to the tiny Bertrand.
* UnholyMatrimony: Implied to have this with {{B|attleButler}}ertrand.
* VainSorceress: All of her plans are motivated by a desire to be perfectly youthful and beautiful.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: She finds amusement in trying to kill teenagers for the sake of making herself pretty, making her one of the cruelest ghosts in the show.
* VillainousFriendship: "Girls' Night Out" reveals she has one with Kitty and Ember.

Spectra's loyal BattleButler.
----
* BattleButler: He wears a butler's attire in his standard human form, and he's the one who does most of the fighting for Spectra.
* BlobMonster: His true form is a green ectoplasmic blob with red eyes.
* ButtMonkey: It seems that he's rejected by Johnny and Skulker, who don't invite him to go to Amity Park with them in "Girls' Night Out", and even Spectra seems to hate him in that episode.
* CampStraight: He has some effeminate qualities and is just as vain as his boss, but is also implied to be in a relationship with her.
* TheDragon: He poses as Spectra's assistant when she poses as a shrink, while aiding her in her plans and doing most of the fighting for her.
* EmotionEater: It's implied he shares Spectra's power of feeding on misery.
* HulkingOut: He transforms into a bulky monster doctor in "Doctor's Disorders", but it's easily defeated.
* {{Sadist}}: Like Spectra, he seems to enjoy torturing people and causing them misery.
* {{Shapeshifting}}: His main power.
* ShapeshifterDefaultForm: He usually takes the form of a short man with a butler's uniform.
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation: Possibly as a result of his shapeshifting powers, he can conjure weapons out of nowhere. His ninja transformation in "My Brother's Keeper" comes with nunchucks, and in "Doctor's Disorders", he summons a scalpel and a syringe to attack Tucker.
* TheStoolPigeon: He tells Kitty, Ember and Spectra that Johnny and Skulker are in Amity Park out of spite because he wasn't invited to go with them.
* SueDonym: He "disguises" himself as Dr. Bert Rand in "Doctor's Disorders".
* TransformationHorror: His transformation into a monster doctor is quite grotesque: his eyes pop out, his skin becomes green and bubbles as if it were boiling, he gains sharp fangs, his tongue stretches out, and when it's complete, his brain becomes exposed.
* UndyingLoyalty: Towards Spectra.
* UnholyMatrimony: Implied to have this with Spectra.

A punk rock diva, Ember hates all sense of authority and adults. She wants to TakeOverTheWorld strictly so people will always remember her name. She tends to be a blunt person. In the BadFuture, she is [[FormerlyFit overweight]] and her vocal cords have been damaged, rendering her unable to sing.
----
%%* The70s
* AdvertisedExtra: She was constantly talked up in and out-of-universe as a major recurring rogue. However, she’s definitely more of a secondary villain at best. Her appearances were already pretty few and far between; out of her six total appearances, she only played a major role in three of them, and she’s not even the star villain in two out of those three episodes. It’s probable that the show just hyped her up so much due to her unexpected popularity with fans. See the BreakoutVillain trope below.
* AttentionWhore: Invokes this to gain power, simply by [[PopularityPower having her fans]] [[SayMyName say her name]].
* BeautyIsBad: A beautiful ghost girl who turns out be an evil rock star trying to hypnotize people into remembering her for eternity.
* BreakoutVillain: She's introduced halfway into season one and, outside of a cameo, played no major role for the rest of the season. In season two, despite only playing the villain in a team-up with Youngblood in one episode, she would continue to make appearances on the show despite her lack of importance to the plot. She quickly became one of the most popular villains of the show, to the point where she was the first of Danny's rogues gallery besides Vlad to be adapted into a Funko Pop figure and the first character from the show besides Danny himself to be playable in ''[[VideoGame/NickelodeonAllStarBrawl Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2]]''.
* CatchphraseInsult: Her favorite nickname for her detractors is "Dipstick."
* ComboPlatterPowers: Ember has a surprisingly diverse set of powers, including [[PopularityPower cheering empowerment]], MassHypnosis, [[LovePotion love inducement]], power augmentation, different kinds of ghost rays, and FlamingHair.
* DudeMagnet: Skulker dated her, Dash and Kwan have a huge crush on her, and a big crowd of boys fight over her in Girls’ Night Out.
* EmotionBomb: Can use her guitar to manipulate the emotions of others.
* EvilDiva: She's a ghostly rock star who wants to take over the world. Hell, she even provides the freakin' page image!
* ExcessiveEvilEyeshadow: In her case, it has more to do with being a punk rocker than with being evil.
* FateWorseThanDeath: Ember died in a HouseFire when she just a teenager, and ended up in the Ghost Zone.
** In the BadFuture, Dark Phantom damages her vocal cords so severely that she can’t sing. This leads to her intense depression where she turns to food for comfort.
** Ember [=McLain=] never achieves her dream of being a worldwide rockstar.
* FlamingHair: It gets longer the stronger she gets. She can use it as a weapon. [[{{Pun}} Backfired]] when she accidentally set Youngblood's pirate ship on fire.
* FlashyTeleportation: Ember uses her flaming hair to teleport.
* GothSpirals: On her right eye.
* HartmanHips: Ember [=McLain=] is a very beautiful teen rockstar with wide hips and a big butt.
* HeadTurningBeauty: Ember [=McLain=] is definitely one of the show's top 3 beauties.
* HouseFire: Ember waited at the movie theater for her date to show up, when morning came and [[StoodUp he still didn’t show up]] Ember went home exhausted. Ember [[SlainInTheirSleep died in her sleep]] due to her house mysteriously catching fire.
* HumbleGoal: In truth, all Ember [=McLain=] wants is to be a world famous rockstar. You can't truly call that evil. It's the mind control that's wrong.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: This is Ember’s true desire.
* ImmortalImmaturity: Ember [=McLain=] is an eternal teenage ghost.
* InstrumentOfMurder: Can smack people around with her electric guitar.
* KeystoneSuperpower: Ember’s guitar allows her utilize many powerful abilities.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Ember smartly flees after burning the sails of Youngblood's ship.
* LovePotion: More like ''Love Guitar''. One of the settings on her guitar makes people fall in love with each other.
* MagicMusic: Ember [=McLain=] can manipulate her music to produce a wide variety of special “effects”.
* MarkOfTheSupernatural: Her bright blue hair is an indicator that she's a ghost.
* MassHypnosis: Ember can use her music to brainwash masses of people. In each episode featuring her as a main villain, she hypnotizes a certain group (first teenagers, then adults, and lastly women).
* MeaningfulName: Her last name basically means "son of the servant of Saint John." Saint John the Apostle is the patron saint of love, loyalty, and burn victims, among other things.
* MindControlMusic: The crux of Ember's power and evil plans. Her introduction was to brainwash people into her adoring fans, gaining more power by their devotion to her.
* MsFanservice: An EvilDiva with a hypnotic singing voice, a slender yet curvy figure, tight pants, and a top that shows her stomach? Yeah, that should do it.
* MusicalAssassin: Her guitar is her main weapon.
* MysteriousPast: One of the directors revealed that Ember [=McLain=] was an unpopular high schooler who got stood up by the guy she liked and died in her sleep when her house went up in flames. Other than that, we know nothing about Ember’s upbringing.
* PirateGirl: She wears [[DressedToPlunder pirate gear]] during the episode "Pirate Radio" where she and Youngblood team up to take over Amity Park.
* PlayingWithFire: She has pyrokinetic powers, both through her guitar and hair.
* PopularityPower: The more people cheer her name, the stronger she gets. Ember gains power through the adoration of her fans.
* ThePowerOfRock: Literally, as her powers depend on her guitar and music.
* PursueTheDreamJob: Ember [=McLain=] wanted to be a rockstar ever since she was a kid, but she died when she was just a teenager in highschool (most likely a sophomore). Even death didn't stop her from pursuing her dream.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When really enraged, Ember’s eyes turn crimson red and her pupils disappear.
* SayMyName: In her first appearance. She wasn't happy when it didn't work.
* ShipperWithAnAgenda: In her own words, "nothing distracts teenagers more than hormones." She casts a love spell on Danny so he would fall madly in love with Sam so he'd be too focused on Sam to fight Ember.
* TeenIdol: Ember [=McLain=] is a talented rockstar, but has such little faith in herself that she genuinely believes that she needs to brainwash people for them to like her music. Having died when she was still in highschool (probably a sophomore), Ember is an eternal teenager, and hasn't outgrown the insecurities she was plagued with during life.
* TotallyRadical: Her favorite insult for Danny is "Dipstick," something he's mocked her about before.
* TragicVillain: A teenager who died before she could ever achieve her dreams, Ember now wants to achieve her dreams through mind control, genuinely believing this to be the only way she can.
* UglyGuyHotWife: Ember is much better looking than her ex Skulker, especially his true form.
* UnskilledButStrong: Ember is the strongest ghost female, and doesn’t have a WeakSauceWeakness. Ember can fight, but clearly has no formal training or combat experience, she makes up for her lack of skill with determination.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: The chorus of "Remember" says "Ember, so warm and tender," implying she was much nicer when she was alive in spite of her unhappy home life before dying and becoming the vindictive specter she is today.
* VagueAge: The anti-adult standpoint she cites as her motivation for working with Youngblood while being in a relationship with a ghost who appears to be an adult (Skulker) raises questions on how old she's supposed to be. [[DownplayedTrope It was later revealed by one of the directors that Ember [=McLain=] was an unpopular high-schooler when she died]]. It's impossible for her to be physically older than 18, and was most likely a sophomore. Ember [=McLain=] is most likely physically 15-16 years old.
* VillainSong: "Remember," which hints at her origin. The lyrics tell the story of a girl evidently abandoned by her love, whose life continued on without her, with him apparently forgetting she existed. This could be part of her motivation, and how she died so young (it's been hinted that she perhaps died by suicide after being left, perhaps by cremating herself, while one of the directors claimed she was an unpopular girl who was StoodUp by a boy before dying in a house fire)... Her vengeful spirit wants everyone to adore her and always be screaming her name to make sure she's never forgotten again.
* VillainousFriendship: "Girls' Night Out" reveals she has one with Kitty and Spectra.
* WasOnceHuman: Like Desiree or Sidney Poindexter, Ember [=McLain=] was a human with an unhappy life. A high-schooler who died in a housefire.
* YankTheDogsChain: Ember was an unpopular high-schooler who died too early. In the BadFuture, Ember [=McLain=] had her vocal cords severely damaged by Dark Phantom, resulting in her becoming depressed and turn to food for comfort.
* YoungerThanSheLooks: [[DownplayedTrope Ember [=McLain=] is obviously a youthful teenager]], but her exact age is unknown. Considering she died while still in highschool, she is like 15-16 years old (physically).

A ghost considered to be the spirit of Halloween, Fright Knight is a very powerful SealedEvilInACan inadvertently released by Danny, who was trying to put together a haunted house as part of a detention for Mr. Lancer. He was resealed at the end of the episode, only to be released later by Pariah to serve as TheDragon. At the end of Reign Storm, he was seen to make an alliance with Vlad to take down his master, but this is never really followed up on. In "The Ultimate Enemy" BadFuture, [[spoiler:Dark Danny]] seems to have inherited his loyalty.
----
* AbortedArc: The writers clearly planned for ''something'' big to come of his alliance with Vlad, since the whole of Reign Storm leads up to it and it's alluded to in Ultimate Enemy. But for some reason, it's just sort of forgotten about.
* AndImTheQueenOfSheba: In the ''Magazine/NickelodeonMagazine'' comic story "Bring Back My Body to Me", Danny in Vlad's body tries to convince the Fright Knight that he isn't Vlad. The Fright Knight retorts "And ''I'' am [[WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents Jorgen Von Strangle]]".
* ArtifactOfDoom: His sword, the Soulshredder.
* BlackKnight: Is dark knight with purple FlamingHair and a cursed sword.
* CoolHorse: Rides one.
* CoolSword: The Soulshredder.
* DemotedToDragon: All of his main appearances after his first have him serving a more powerful opponent.
* TheDragon: Pariah Dark's ancient servant, and later the chief herald of [[spoiler:Dark Danny]] in a BadFuture. He was also set up to become a major ally of Vlad, but nothing ever came of it.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Has a deep, menacing voice.
* GeniusBruiser: This guy's not just one of Danny's stronger adversaries, he's one of his smarter ones too.
* IFightForTheStrongestSide: This seems to be his motivation when not acting independently. First he follows Pariah Dark before defecting to Vlad. In the BadFuture he serves Dark Danny.
* LargeHam: More subtle than most, but the guy really has a flair for poetry and dramatics.
* MagicKnight: Can fire energy blasts or seal his opponents by slashing them with his sword.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: It's hinted that he once served Pariah Dark more loyally in the distant past, but throughout "Reign Storm" he shows subtle signs of growing tired of Pariah's abuse. By the end he's just as happy as everyone else when Pariah is locked away once more.
* NightmareWeaver: His sword teleports anyone touched by it to a dimension where their real nightmares become reality.
%%* ObviouslyEvil: Just look at him!
* PunnyName: His name is a play on "fright night" (Halloween) and "knight".
* SealedEvilInACan: Was sealed away inside a pumpkin, and was released first by Danny himself (accidentally), and later by Pariah Dark so that he could act as TheDragon.
* TheStarscream: Partial example. He clearly resents being Pariah's minion, but is too scared of him to actually betray him until Vlad shows up with a better offer.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He appears in the beginning ''The Ultimate Enemy'', voicing that he serves [[spoiler:Dark Danny]], but it's his only appearance in the movie and he's never mentioned again.
* TheWorfEffect: Jack defeats him very quickly with only the pants portion of the Fenton Ecto Suit.

A scruffy punk on a motorcycle. His main goals are raising havoc and pleasing his girlfriend, Kitty. In the BadFuture, he is in a wheelchair.
----
* ThirteenIsUnlucky: His name and powers are correlated.
* BadassBiker: Has a spectral motorbike that he uses both as transportation and as a weapon.
* ChivalrousPervert: While he loves Kitty very much, he can't help ogling the ladies, infuriating her to no end.
* CoolBike: That can drive along walls and fly.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: In spite of his ChivalrousPervert tendencies, he loves his girlfriend Kitty. His motivation in his debut episode was to try to free her from the portal.
* FriendlyEnemy: By "Girls Night Out" this how he sees Danny, battling him as a way to vent after a fight with Kitty.
* LivingShadow: It has a mind of its own and is quite powerful. His favored weapon, besides his bike.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: He bears a pretty good resemblance to Music/KurtCobain.
* OnlyKnownByHisNickname: He apparently has a real last name, but everyone calls him Johnny 13 for his bad luck.
* PermaStubble: Johnny has a few lines of blond hair on his chin, though never enough for a BeardOfEvil.
* PowersDoTheFighting: His primary power is his shadow, which he relies on for anything he needs to get done. When his shadow is defeat he himself is left helpless, with his first instinct being to run away.
-->'''Johnny:''' Oh no. My shadow. My power! I gotta get out of here!
* UnholyMatrimony: Is Kitty's not-so-faithful boyfriend.
* WeaksauceWeakness: [[WeakenedByTheLight Bright light]] will temporarily disintegrate his shadow and water will turn it into a puddle.
* WindsOfDestinyChange: Anything his shadow passes through receives bad luck. [[spoiler:Danny used this against him by tricking the shadow into touching some equipment Johnny was using]].

Johnny 13's girlfriend. She mostly follows his path, but can be quite dangerous, especially when she's angry. She seemed the least changed in the BadFuture, but joined Johnny and the others in attempting revenge.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Why Kitty is attracted to Johnny 13.
* AntiVillain: She's one of the least villainous ghosts Danny deals with, as she apologized to Danny for causing him trouble once. However, she still causes trouble, either to teach Johnny a lesson or make Amity Park suitable only for women.
* ArtifactOfDoom: Her scarf, jacket and ring are artifacts she can use to transform the body of any human woman who wears them into her host.
* ClingyJealousGirl: ''Really'' hates it when Johnny is looking at other women besides her.
* DemonicPossession: In her first appearance, Johnny needed to find a host body for her to inhabit in the human world, although this was only necessary because the Fenton portal malfunctioned thanks to Johnny's LivingShadow and she was caught in it. This was dropped in later episodes, [[spoiler:and in one episode she uses her possession in an attempt to make Johnny jealous]].
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: In spite of their numerous fights, she loves her boyfriend Johnny.
* FreakyFridayFlip: She has the power to spread her energy into her clothes and accessories to steal the bodies of human girls who wear them.
* HandbagOfHurt: Her future self uses her purse as a weapon to attack Danny in ''The Ultimate Enemy''.
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: In her first appearances, Kitty is immoral, but not entirely evil. In "Girls' Night Out", however, she teams up with Ember and Spectra to become a full-on villain, joining them in wiping out the entire male population of Amity Park and keeping the female citizens brainwashed under a spell for their entertainment.
* KissOfDeath: It's a blown kiss, but any man who is hit by it is trapped in another dimension. If she doesn't blow another kiss to bring them back within a 12 hour time limit, they're trapped on the other side forever.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Not once prior to season 3 does she establish the ability to make men disappear by blowing a kiss, a power that would have made Johnny much less likely to ogle other girls. It's almost like a power she literally picked up right before the episode.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: She bears a good resemblance to Music/CourtneyLove, which is fitting since Johnny looks like Kurt Cobain, whom Love was married to before his death.
* OperationJealousy: To piss off Johnny, she dates [[spoiler:Danny while secretly overshadowing Paulina]].
* SatelliteLoveInterest: Kitty’s entire character revolves around Johnny 13.
* UnholyMatrimony: With Johnny.
* VillainousFriendship: "Girls' Night Out" reveals she has one with Ember and Spectra.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Despite being constantly at odds with Johnny, deep down she loves him. If you try to hurt him, you will face her wrath.

----
* TheDragon: To Freakshow.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: When Danny traps Freakshow in the Fenton Thermos, she's ''[[ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend absolutely furious]]''.
* NotBrainwashed: Unlike Freakshow's other minions, she doesn't flee when his scepter is broken and continues to serve him even without the scepter present.
** Although, the Guys in White do mention her no longer being under Freakshow's control, so it could even be some other form of brainwashing.
* ShoutOut: Being named Lydia, and being covered in (magic) tattoos, brings to mind the song "Lydia the Tattooed Lady."
* TattooedCrook: Taken to the logical extreme; her tattoos are ''weapons''.
* UndyingLoyalty: She's furious when Danny traps Freakshow in the Fenton Thermos.

A little, immature boy who likes to play dress up. Despite his size and youth, he can be incredibly dangerous.
----
* AffablyEvil: As seen in "Livin' Large", he seems to be geniunely friendly to Danny despite them being enemies (when he's not trying to kill Danny and his family just for fun, and when Danny isn't interrupting his evil plans).
* AxCrazy: He spends almost the entirety of "The Fenton Menace" trying to kill the Fentons for fun.
* BabysittersNightmare: The ''Magazine/NickelodeonMagazine'' comic story "Brat's Entertainment" has Danny, Sam and Tucker tasked with babysitting Youngblood by his gigantic parents. He proves to be as troublesome and dangerous as he is when Danny fights him, but the three manage to keep him in line by rebuilding his Construct Blocks robot into a cage to hold him in.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He behaves like a typical brat, often loses himself in his characters and loves to make childish jokes, but he's a dangerous enemy nonetheless, and somehow he's the leader of a crew of ghost pirates.
* BrattyHalfPint: Youngblood is an obnoxious kid who loves to get on everyone's nerves and play (usually deadly) "pranks". He lampshades how bratty he is in "The Fenton Menace" when he comments on Jazz reacting to Danny destroying her teddy bear Bearbert Einstein.
-->'''Youngblood''': Man, she's even brattier than I am.
* CoolHorse: His skeletal sidekick takes the form of a horse when Youngblood dresses as a cowboy.
* {{Cowboy}}: His second appearance ditches the pirate theme for a cowboy theme.
* CreepyChild: Especially in his second appearance, in which he gleefully tries to drive Danny insane and to kill his family.
* CuteBruiser: Is just a child, but is a formidable opponent nevertheless.
* DressedToPlunder: As a pirate, he hits most of the major costume tropes.
* EnfantTerrible: Despite being just a child, Youngblood is just as evil as most of Danny's enemies, if not more, and he's surprisingly threatening.
* ForTheEvulz: Youngblood doesn't have any specific motivation for his evil actions, which seem to be more like childish pranks for him.
* FriendlyEnemy: Despite being beaten twice, in his next appearance Youngblood cheerfully greets Danny as he's travelling through the Ghost Zone and invites him to hang out and play. Danny brushes him off because he's busy, but does say "maybe some other time."
* GhostPirate: His standard role is a pirate, complete with a ghostly pirate ship where he commands an undead pirate crew.
* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: Youngblood's powers seem to be based on whatever he's play-acting as. From shooting cannons as a pirate to creating a lasso as a cowboy.
* ImmortalImmaturity: He's over fifty years old but continues to act as the eight-year-old he looks like.
* InvisibleToAdults: He cannot be seen by adults and teenagers who think they are adults (i.e. Jazz Fenton).
** [[PlotHole Sam and Tucker seem to be unable to see him as well in his second appearance despite previously coming in contact with him in "Pirate Radio"]], although in the latter case there are several contrivances (happening to turn around at the right moment, someone standing in the way, or Youngblood ducking around a corner) that make it unclear if they could still see him or not. [[SeriesContinuityError Additionally, Lancer also saw him in "Pirate Radio" despite being an adult]].
* IWantMyMommy: The ''Nickelodeon Magazine'' comic story "Brat's Entertainment" ends with Youngblood crying "MOMMMEEEE!" while being chased by a Construct Blocks robot driven by Danny, Sam and Tucker.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: His gimmick changes in every episode. He's been a {{Pirate}}, a {{Cowboy}}, and an astronaut. Although this is justified as he's a kid.
* NonHumanSidekick: Has one in the form of a skeletal entity that first takes the form of a parrot and then a horse. His form is apparently dependent on Youngblood's current activity. It sometimes doubles as a HypercompetentSidekick, as the entity is more mature and thoughtful than him.
* OlderHeroVsYoungerVillain: The younger villain to Danny's older hero, since he's a child and Danny is a teenager.
* OlderSidekick: His recurring sidekick seems to be an adult, judging by the way he talks and his maturity level.
* OnlyKnownByHisNickname: It's implied in "The Fenton Menace" that Youngblood is just something he calls himself.
* PirateParrot: His skeletal sidekick takes the form a parrot when he's playing a pirate.
* Really700YearsOld: As he died young, he stopped physically aging while in the body of a child but is really over fifty if his claims are to be believed.
* RedOniBlueOni: Youngblood's childish, spirited and carefree personality contrasts with his level-headed and apathetic skeletal assistant.
* {{Retcon}}: In "The Fenton Menace", it's revealed that he's invisible to adults (like Danny's parents and Lancer) and teens who act like adults (like Jazz). However, Lancer saw him in his debut appearance in "Pirate Radio". It's possible that he can control this power, or Lancer was only aware of the rest of Youngblood's crew that lack this ability.
* SealedEvilInACan: His debut episode "Pirate Radio" ends with him stuck on his pirate ship behind a ghost-proof force field. He gets free by his second appearance in the episode "The Fenton Menace".
* TalkingAnimal: His assistant is only seen in animal forms (either a parrot or a horse), but he's capable of speaking just like a human.
* TalkLikeAPirate: When he plays a pirate, he tries to speak like one, though he's not very good at it. His assistant keeps correcting and helping him.
* UndeadChild: He's far younger than Danny, for certain.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After "The Fenton Menace", Youngblood's skeletal assistant is never seen or mentioned again (not even in ''Phantom Planet'', in which almost every single ghost in the show appears), despite Youngblood making a few more appearances.
* YoungAndInCharge: He looks and behaves like a little kid, but he's the captain of a ghost pirate crew.

A government organization whose goal is to eliminate all ghosts and other paranormal beings on Earth, as well as their primary target, Danny Phantom.
----
* AntiHero: While "hero" is a bit of a stretch, the Guys in White are not antagonistic for personal gain; they're government operatives carrying out security and executive policy. However, they're overzealous to the point they don't care about collateral damage they cause, and they're committed to the extermination of ghosts, going so far as to plotting to destroy the entire Ghost Zone (which would've destroyed the Earth as well).
* AscendedExtra: Introduced in late season one as minor villains and pawns in Vlad's plan who are total jokes. Starting in late season 2, they're more active and much bigger threats to Danny.
* CorruptedCharacterCopy: They're visually based on Agents J and K from the ''Film/MenInBlack'' films, but they lack the two's comraderie, morals, and competency. They also see ''all'' ghosts as monsters, whereas J and K know not all aliens are threats to the Earth.
* {{Determinator}}: They are shown obsessed with hunting down their primary target, Danny Phantom. When they temporarily discovered his SecretIdentity, they relentlessly chased him and his friends across the country from Florida, Nevada, to San Diego in a blind effort to destroy and dissect him. They are also determined to destroy all ghosts in existence, even the Ghost Zone (not knowing that if the Ghost Zone is destroyed, the Earth gets destroyed as well).
* EvilHero: They're this by virtue of trying to fight ghosts, yet constantly trying to also stop Danny Phantom. They even believe that they're the good guys as they [[InsaneTrollLogic dress in white]].
* {{Irony}}: In their last appearance, "Livin' Large," it's revealed that despite hunting ghosts, they're afraid of haunted places.
* [[{{Jerkass}} Jerkasses]]: They're ''not'' nice people. Outside ghosts, they are practically rude to anyone they come in contact with, especially the Fentons, whom they view as "crackpots". They've also once threatened Mr. Lancer with their position as government officials to demand what he knows about his school being hotspot for ghosts.
* KnightTemplar: The Guys in White hunt ''all'' paranormal entities to protect humanity at large, regardless if they might be good individuals. It goes to ChaoticStupid levels of fanaticism when they try to ''nuke'' the Ghost Zone in "Livin' Large," an act that, if they had succeeded, would have destroyed the Earth along with it.
* LackOfEmpathy: The Guys in White are overzealous and undiplomatic when it comes to hunting ghosts, and show no concern for all the collateral damage they leave behind. Upon discovering Danny's secret, they exchange these words to him with no hint of emotion:
--> '''Operative K''': You're coming in for questioning.\
'''Operative O''': And experiments... lots and lots of really ''painful'' experiments.
* LightIsNotGood: While they wear white, they're not nice people.
* TheMenInBlack: A parody of the TropeNamer.
* NeatFreak: The organization as a whole is obsessed with their own neatness on top of their ghost hunting duties.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: After their less than stellar introduction in "The Million Dollar Ghost," they step up with better equipment, from hovercrafts to intangibility suits, and end up being genuine threats. As Danny puts it, they're "losers who got better."
* SinisterShades: They're always wearing sunglasses to highlight their sinister nature.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: It's highly implied Operatives K and O don't like each other. When Freakshow escaped their custody, they were ready to affix the blame on ''each other''.
* TookALevelInBadass: First introduced as just another ineffectual team of would-be ghost hunters after Danny's bounty. In later episodes, the Guys are shown as real threats to both Danny and other ghosts. Danny even lampshades this as they've become "losers who got better. A ''lot'' better."
* VanHelsingHateCrimes: What makes them villains is the fact that they target ghosts who haven't done anything to warrant their enmity.
* VillainInAWhiteSuit: They're antagonistic towards Danny, and all operatives wear white suits, hence the name.
* WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys: The Guys in White have a great deal of advanced ghost fighting tech, likely due to government funding.
* WouldHurtAChild: Aside from trying to destroy and dissect a 14-year-old half-ghost boy, they had no qualms attempting to ''kill'' Sam and Tucker, who are completely normal humans. They even open fire at an observatory full of teenagers in their blind attempt to destroy Gregor, whom they suspected was the ghost boy.
* YouAreNumberSix: The agents use letters as codenames (Operative K, Operative O, for example).

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/PeterMacNicol (English)[[labelnote:Other Languages]]Johnny Torres (Latin American Spanish), Łukasz Lewandowski (Polish)[[/labelnote]]

The ghost of a student at Casper High from the 1950s, Poindexter was stuffed into his locker so many times that he now haunts it. Having been bullied for most of his life, he makes a point to stand up for victims of bullying.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: There was a Sidney Poindexter who attended the school, but it's a little unclear if he's a dead kid or some sort of manifestation of the real Poindexter's emotions. The fact that he's surrounded by other ghosts who possibly resemble his classmates from the '50s complicates this.
** As many fans point out, despite his origin, Poindexter actually gives some leeway to the idea that the ghosts in the series aren't spirits of the dead. The fact that he switched bodies with Danny suggests he, well, ''has a body.''
* AntiVillain: He's only villainous in his first appearance, and that's because he saw Danny getting back at Dash and jumped to conclusions. Otherwise, he's just a nerdy ghost who just doesn't like bullies.
* BullyMagnet: He was bullied so much that it even became a graduation requirement.
* BullyHunter: Due to having always been picked on when he was alive.
* CommonalityConnection: His implied friendship with Princess Dorathea actually makes sense once you realize that the both of them are actual relics of the past who are stuck in the time period that they were alive in.
* DeliberatelyMonochrome: To go with his '50s aesthetic.
* DragonRider: In "Reign Storm" he's frequently seen riding on the back of Princess Dorathea in her dragon form.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: The ghostly shades of his past tormenters come to respect him after seeing him put up a fight against Danny Phantom, who was infamous in the Ghost Zone at this point.
* {{Expy}}: Of his [[ActorAllusion voice-actor's past role]] as geeky public defender [[Recap/TalesFromTheCryptS6E1LetThePunishmentFitTheCrime Austin Haggard]] from ''Series/TalesFromTheCrypt'', except if Austin was a [[AgeLift high school student]] and [[AdaptationalHeroism an]] AntiVillain rather than an AmoralAttorney.
%%zce* EyeBeams: One of his powers.
* GeekPhysiques: Had this in life, and by ghost standards in death.
* GrandTheftMe: He was able to overshadow Danny himself, and steal his body and ghost powers. Justified as Danny (who's still getting the hang of his powers at this point) never learned how to resist overshadowing.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: After seeing Danny get revenge on his bully [[JerkJock Dash]], Poindexter misinterprets the situation and thinks that Danny is the bully and Dash is the victim. Danny does try to explain, but Poindexter overshadows him before he could even finish.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He lashes out at Danny for using his powers on Dash, when he's done no better than Danny's done with the other popular kids near his locker. He also continuously calls Tucker a nerd, despite being even nerdier than him.
* KarmaHoudini: Outside of being sent back to his own realm, he never suffers any punishment for what he did to Danny.
* KnightTemplar: His moral code is genuinely understandable, as he just dislikes bullies, and you could forgive him for assuming that Danny is the bully when he saw him pushing Dash around using his ghost powers, as he's presumably never really paid attention to the two, if he came to such an assumption, and the way Danny was acting ironically made him no different than Dash, but his methods are extreme and he doesn't even let Danny explain himself and goes straight to attempting to punish him.
* MagicMirror: Inside his locker is a mirror portal to Casper High of the 1950s, where the other students are still picking on him.
* MindOverMatter: He can move things with his mind and cause massive chaos in the school.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: All other ghosts usually have some shade of green or blue to their aesthetic, but he's completely sepia-tone.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Although Poindexter appears to be around Danny's age, a FreezeFrameBonus of Tucker's PDA shows that he attended school for four whole school years (1954 to 1958), making him a senior in high school.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: He uses his powers to inflict LaserGuidedKarma on bullies if he feels like someone is getting picked on.
* {{Poltergeist}}: While haunting Casper High from his mirror, he can manipulate stuff in the school to undo acts of bullying (such as untangling a nerd's shoe laces) and turn them against the bullies themselves (he seems to do this unconsciously, given that afterwards he doesn't recognize the bullies that had been punished by his powers). When he confronts Danny after escaping from his locker, he messes with objects all around the school: school supplies fly out of their lockers, lunch starts attacking students at the cafeteria, and items from the lab vanish in thin air.
* StuffedIntoALocker: Something that happened to him so many times, he can manifest from the mirror inside it.
* ThrowTheDogABone: Though Danny defeats him, Poindexter's classmates now respect him for standing up to the "halfa".
* TotallyRadical: He uses a lot of '50s slang.
* VillainousFriendship: He and Princess Dorathea appear to have some kind of friendship.

From the BadFuture, she is the daughter of Box Ghost and Lunch Lady.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: She is the daughter of the Box Ghost and the Lunch Lady from a BadFuture that has since been wiped from the timeline, so it is likely that the incarnation of her that we see went with it. No word on whether Box Lunch exists in some form in the new timeline, though.
* BorrowedCatchphrase: She uses her father's "BEWARE!" catchphrase. She even lampshades it.
-->'''Box Lunch:''' And now, and you probably know this is coming, BEWARE!
* CombatPragmatist: Danny assumes that she's as much of a pushover as her parents, but she uses tactics like closing the gap while Danny is occupied dodging her food and boxes so she can hit him.
* CuteBruiser: She's just a child, but manages to put up a decent fight against Danny.
* GirlishPigtails: The hairstyle she wears.
* KidFromTheFuture: She is the future child of Box Ghost and Lunch Lady, sent back by Clockwork to test Danny.

A one-shot villain from the ChristmasEpisode, he tried to get revenge on Danny for accidentally destroying one of his poems.
----
* AntiVillain: Not evil per se, as Danny ''was'' a jerk towards him after learning the book he'd accidentally incinerated was a ''[[TheGrinch Christmas]]'' [[TheGrinch poem]].
* DidntSeeThatComing: [[spoiler:He didn't foresee [[EnemyMine the other villains teaming up with Danny to take him down]] for having the audacity to attack someone on Christmas.]]
* DisproportionateRetribution: He trapped Danny in a book where everyone was against him just because Danny destroyed his poem, granted Danny was very rude and unapologetic about it once he learned it was a Christmas poem.
* KryptoniteFactor: He loses his control over reality whenever he breaks his rhyming pattern.
* LogicalWeakness: His ability to write what happens only works if he rhymes, so obviously if you do something to prevent him from rhyming, like tricking him into using a word he can't rhyme off of, his powers are worthless.
* TheOnlyWayTheyWillLearn: Traps Danny in a Christmas story to get back at him for ruining his book and to teach him some Christmas spirit.
* RewritingReality: Anything he types into his magical keyboard comes true. Once he gets going, not even ''destroying the keyboard itself'' will stop it. The only way to completely stop the effect is to finish the story he was writing, either by typing the ending on his keyboard or those who are characters in his writing making an ending of their own.
* StealthMentor: Of a sort. His goal was to instill some Christmas spirit in [[TheGrinch Danny]]. He just got carried away.
* StealthPun: His name is a pun on the term ''Ghostwriter'', an author who writes texts on demand intended to be credited to someone else.
* IShallTauntYou: His scathing spiel to Danny after the latter destroyed his keyboard.
-->'''Danny:''' ''[[BigNo NOOOO!]]'' (GW: Danny screamed,) ''I'm still talking in rhyme!''
-->'''Ghost Writer:''' I would have forewarned you, [[YouDidntAsk if given the time.]] / There are two ways to finish this poem. Just two. / I'd type out the end, ''[[NiceJobBreakingItHero but I can't, thanks to you!]]'' / So now ''you'll'' guide this story of the ghost who hates Christmas. / Think you can do it [[HeroicBSOD all mopey and listless?]] / You think this ends here? You're about to get burned! / This story's not done 'till the lesson is learned! (EvilLaugh)
* VillainHasAPoint: While he ended up [[DisproportionateRetribution taking things too far]], Danny acknowledges that he was right to want to teach him a lesson. He also explains to Danny that destroying his magic typewriter was a foolish move, since he would've let Danny off the hook eventually but now can't, leaving Danny to fend for himself.
* WeaksauceWeakness: An orange of all things can be use to briefly interrupt his RealityWarper powers, since nothing rhymes with "orange" [[note]]This is actually false; "Blorenge" (a mountain in Wales) and "sporange" (a technical word for a sac where spores are made) both rhyme with it.[[/note]] and his power depends on him typing a rhyming poem.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He becomes terrified of oranges after Danny uses one to cut his spell, which works because he can't find a rhyme for "orange".

Prince Aragon is the ruthless and cruel older brother of Princess Dorathea (AKA The Dragon Ghost), both of whom appeared to have lived in the Middle Ages (the 4th to the 16th centuries).
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: He's despised by everyone in the area of ghost zone ruled by him.
* AloofOlderBrother: And abusive. Poor Dorathea.
* AndNowYouMustMarryMe: Tried to force Sam into being his bride.
* BadBoss: He's verbally abusive towards his sister, even though she initially assists him with his plans. It's suggested that he's a tyrant towards his entire kingdom as well.
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Dorathea's Abel once she stands against him.
* DeliberateValuesDissonance: He's a blatant misogynist, which is explained by the fact that he's literally stuck in the Middle Ages.
* DragonsAreDemonic: In contrast to his sister, who's more of a DelightfulDragon, his dragon form is a lot more monstrous. It's also shown that his dragon form is more powerful than hers, if only slightly.
* FisherKing: His realm is incredibly drab under his rule, but begin to revert as soon as he's defeated.
* JerkassToOne: He's a despicable a-hole, especially to his sister.
* LogicalWeakness: He's a very powerful ghost in his dragon form, but his transformation is dependent the amulet. When Danny removes it, he's left essentially powerless.
* MorphicResonance: Has a black/purple color scheme that carries over into his dragon form when he transforms.
* OldManMarryingAChild: Though he appears to be a young adult, he's over a thousand years old and his plan involves marrying Sam, who is in her early teens.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Thanks to a pendant, he can turn into one at the drop of a hat.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He is shown to be a huge sexist, as he yells at his sister for daring to voice her opinion and loathes the very concept of a woman thinking for herself.
* PrinceCharmless: A wise and noble prince he ''ain't''.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He has the appearance of an early adult man, but he's at least 16 centuries old.
* ShoutOut: His dragon form looks a lot like [[WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty Maleficent's]].
* StrawMisogynist: His views on women are TheThemeParkVersion of Middle Age social mores, meant to drive home his episode's message about about modern women.
* WalkingTechbane: Literally, since no modern technology can function in his realm.

* BottomlessMagazines: The Archer Ghost can shoot endless bows.
* CoDragons: Both share the role of being Prince Aragon's minions.
* EnergyBow: The Archer Ghost can shoot flaming and explosive bows.
* TheExecutioner: Given his name, the Executioner Ghost probably functions as an executioner in Prince Aragon's kingdom.
* InTheHood: The Archer Ghost's head is constantly hidden in a hood, leaving only his green eyes visible.
* MasterArcher: The Archer Ghost's signature weapon is a bow and arrow.

----
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He presents himself as a loyal and selfless servant to Tucker, when in actuality, he's manipulating him for his own end.
* BritishTeeth: His teeth are white, but are notably crooked and misaligned.
* DemBones: Hotep-Ra is just a skeleton beneath his mummy bandages.
* HappinessInSlavery: Subverted. He pretends to be happy to serve Tucker, but it's just a façade: he's using Tucker to later usurp his power and make himself the ruler of the Ancient Egypt-like realm, and plans on making everyone his own slaves.
* HealingFactor: He can regenerate completely even after being reduced to a pile of dust.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Hotep-Ra is defeated by his own sphinx when Tucker discovers it also obeys him.
* ManipulativeBastard: He spends a good deal of the episode manipulating Tucker by making him feel good about himself by pretending to be his servant and fulfilling his every needs, including taking advantage of his frustration over feeling unheard in his debut episode.
* {{Mummy}}: He is the spirit of the minion of an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh, and manifests as skeletal mummy ghost covered up in bandages.
* MummyWrap: One of his attacks includes projecting his own arms using his mummy wrap.
* OneShotCharacter: His only major appearance is "King Tuck", only appearing again in cameos in the finale.
* PetTheDog: When asked what should be done with Tucker's ridiculous laws, Hotep-Ra says they should be implemented to let Tucker have his moment of glory until Hotep-Ra takes over.
* SandBlaster: He can transform himself into a sand cyclone.
* SealedEvilInACan: He is initially dormant inside the sarcophagus at the museum, only to be awaken when Tucker looks into the MagicMirror on it.
* {{Shapeshifting}}: His attacks include transforming his body into sand and into locusts.
* TheStarscream: He pretends to be Tucker's loyal minion, and lets a brainwashed Tucker act like the ruthless leader of an Ancient Egypt-like dimension, but he's only using Tucker to later make himself king.
* TheSwarm: One of his attacks is transforming himself into a swam of locusts.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Subverted. Pulling apart his bandages will cause him to fall apart in a pile of bones and sand, but he's capable of reforming pretty much instantly.

-->'''Vlad:''' That was ''Da Vinci'', you dolt.
-->'''Vortex:''' Whatever.
* GhostlyWail: Vortex can let loose a ghostly sonic shriek, a sub-power of the above-mentioned Ghostly Wail but Vortex is only extremely less powerful.
* LargeHam: "'Stop the rain'?! The weather is my art! I will not just 'stop it'! Did anyone ask ''Picasso'' to stop painting the Mona Lisa!?"
* PsychoElectro: While he has a large variety of weather powers, he uses lightning as his main attack.
* {{Pride}}: His fatal flaw. He is manipulated into returning to Amity Park, where Danny can defeat him, after Sam and Tucker tell him that there's one spot on earth where even he can't alter the weather and he decides to prove them wrong.
* UngratefulBastard: After Vlad frees him from the Observants, Vortex shows no gratitude whatsoever and threatens the half-ghost when he demanded a "thank you".
* VerbalTic: He always takes a big gasp of air between sentences and even mid-sentence.
* WeatherManipulation: His whole schtick, being able to control the weather to devastating effect.
* TheWorfEffect: In his first appearance, he was far too powerful for Danny to handle that only gaining temporary weather powers and causing Vortex to burn out is what led to his defeat. 1084----
* AntiVillain: He's not diabolical, just a faceless ghost who enjoys attention and pulling pranks. He also does have standards as he draws the line at killing. He was even willing to call a truce with Danny to cure themselves of their ShapeshifterModeLock and evade the mob.
* AttentionWhore: The reason he pulls his stunts is for the attention.
* CelebrityIsOverrated: He shifts into Danny for attention, but quickly learns throughout his debut episode that there's such a thing as "too much attention" and comes to respect Danny and his need of a private life away from the mob.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Amorpho may have not a care if someone gets angry or slightly hurt by his pranks, but he draws the line at killing, stating that a bus plunging off a cliff was "a tad out of hand" and is thankful Danny Phantom was able to save them.
* FreudianExcuse: The justification for his behavior is that his only notable quality is emulating other things, so he desires notoriety.
* MorphicResonance: His eyes are bright red no matter what form he takes.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Subverted. He has blood-red eyes and enjoys pulling pranks for attention, but in the end, he's not really a bad ghost; just an AttentionWhore and [[EvenEvilHasStandards draws the line at putting innocent lives at risk]].
* ShapeshifterModeLock: When attacked with Jack's PowerNullifier invention, he still has his ghost powers, but he can no longer shapeshift. He gets better in the end.

* BotanicalAbomination: He seems to be the spectral embodiment of GaiasVengeance and the Plant Kingdom, his body a monstrous plant creature in a vaguely humanoid form and command over plant-life.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Inflicts this on [[GranolaGirl Sam]], making her his "daughter".

* GreenThumb: Has control over plant life.
* HealingFactor: Even by ghost standards. He is able to regenerate from nearly every attack Danny throws at him. Even after he is severely weakened by Danny's ice powers and mulched, he was still able to put himself back together (albeit in a weakened state).
* LogicalWeakness: Cold weather can kill plants, so of course he'd be weak to Danny's newly-acquired ice powers.
* MindControlEyes: People under his control have solid green eyes.
* PlantPerson: Appears to be made of plants.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Like many a plant-themed villain before and after him, he wants to help plants grow and thrive...even if it means destroying human civilization to do so.

The ghost of sleep, Nocturn has the power to put people to sleep and harvests the dreams of humans.
----
* CelestialBody: With the exception of his head, Nocturn's body looks like a shapeless mass in a vaguely humanoid form cut out from a starry night.
* DeadpanSnarker:
--> '''Nocturn''': I believe this is when I say "Dream on!"
* DreamStealer: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Nocturn feeds off the dreams to grow stronger, but he doesn't remove them.
* DreamWeaver: It's uncertain whether or not this is Nocturn's own power, or if his headgear does it, but it puts people in their fantasies too much to be a coincidence either way.
* EmotionEater: Like Spectra, but he uses peaceful dreams.
* FacelessMooks: Has an army of them that usually [[EyesAlwaysShut do everything with their eyes look like they are stitched shut]], although they can open their eyes just fine.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Most of the time, his body is just a black blob with stars inside, and red pupil-less eyes.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Powerful evil ghost with blood-red eyes. When his minions open their eyes, theirs are also blood-red.
* TheSandman: He is a supernatural entity with the power to induce sleep in humans.
* WeaksauceWeakness: His army (and Nocturn himself) are very vulnerable to Danny's [[AnIcePerson ice powers]]. Nocturn is powerful enough to come back, though.
