A 14-year-old boy seeking to prove his mother's theory about a red gem true. He is first seen in an AbandonedMine. He survives a {{near miss|es}} from a meteor, finding the red gem he was searching for in his hand.
----
* ChekhovsSkill: All his time playing on hoverboards in the early episodes becomes ''very'' useful in episode 9.
* CrashIntoHello: Played with. When his scooter bike malfunctions (courtesy of the red gem Sogo finds) he crashes into Kaon. It just happens that he and Kaon knew each other previously.
* CurbstompBattle: Is on the receiving end of one from "Black Moura" in episode 10. It's justified in that 1.) Moura had to hold back because Felia was inside "Black Moura", and 2.) if "Black Moura" is Krone's secretary, she is older and has both far more experience and combat training.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: [[spoiler: Felia leaves him to go make Earth viable for life again.]]
* DistractedByTheSexy: Happens on occasion. The most notable case is when Kaon was driving in episode 6, and he looked a little too long at Felia's chest.
* FellIntoTheCockpit: Happens quite literally in episode 9 as a result of Gus shooting at him.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Quite a bit. As early as episode 1, his talent with the hover-board proved he had the knack for being an ace pilot. In episode 2, he used hoverboards to target the weak points of a construction mecha with moderate success. In episode 6, he showed he had better combat instincts than Moura by telling her the perfect moment to use her hand blast for defeating multiple armed mecha while avoiding civilian casualties.
* GadgeteerGenius: Played realistically. Whenever he encounters an usual machine or object, he will patiently, carefully and lovingly take it apart, analyze how each and every piece works, and then put it back together again, sometimes even better than new.
* GogglesDoNothing: Averted. The "goggle" he usually wears on his head is actually a powerful analytic tool. It can even tell the difference between safe and poison mushrooms. [[spoiler: Too bad nobody thought to use it before Roman started cooking in episode 8.]]
* HappilyAdopted: [[spoiler: By Do Mon.]]
* HostageSituation: He finds himself in one in episode 10. [[spoiler: "Black Moura" spares his life in exchange for Felia surrendering and telling him to take a hike.]]
* InstantExpert: When it comes to a machine, he can figure out how it works very, very quickly. He does it in both episodes 7 and 9.
* LuminescentBlush: Showed one in episode 1 when Kaon got a little too close to him in the pit.
* NonActionGuy: Combat is not his forte. At least not until episode 9.
* PlotBasedVoiceCancellation: Happens in episode 9 while fighting Gus.
---> Sogo: "How dare you insult Do Mon. Do Mon is my..." (Beam attack) (Ifrit blows up)
* TookALevelInBadass: Gus thought victory was a ForegoneConclusion in episode 9. [[spoiler: He couldn't have been more wrong.]]
* WiseBeyondHisYears: Despite being a young teenager, he's the most level-headed character in the whole series.

A mysterious girl that Sogo and Kaon find inside a giant red gem under their home city after falling down a large pit.
----
* BreakTheCutie: Alfried, Gus and Puck keep trying. By episode 9, they've all lost patience and are going for "Kill the cutie" instead.
* CheerfulChild: She's especially happy around Kaon and Sogo.
* CuriousAsAMonkey: At first. She was very easily excited by just about everything the rest of the cast took for granted. Especially the mascot of Gift, [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter the cat-pigeons.]]
* DamselInDistress: Frequently. Justified by the fact that an entire army armed with HumongousMecha are constantly after her, and there's a nigh-omniscient StalkerWithACrush that loves to cause massive mayhem targeting her as well.
* DaydreamSurprise: Suffers one in episode 12 as [[spoiler: Black Moura abducts her and tries to steal her powers.]]
* IdiotHair: She's got two feathery "bangs" on the top of her head, in addition to an overly-long bang right between them.
* LivingMacguffin: The imperial army calls her a "Lima" and are desperate to seize her. They absolutely refuse to say why. [[spoiler: Councilor Krone finally succeeds in episode 10, using a "Black Moura."]]
* MysticalWaif: A mysterious young girl who Sogo and Kaon find inside a crystal and is sought by the villains for some reason. There's a great deal about her that has yet to be revealed.
* NatureSpirit: According to Moura, she's the very source of life for the planet, Gift.
* PlotRelevantAgeUp: Experiences this in episode 5.
* PsychicPowers: She has powers of telekinesis. They're so refined, she can make vegetables dance in mid-air.
* TechnicolorMagic: Her powers manifest with a purple aura.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: Twice in episode 5.
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: Lampshades it in episode 6, and asks the bride at a wedding ceremony. She is given the most heartwarming answer ever.
---> "Love means their happiness is your happiness. Their sorrow is your sorrow."

[[folder:Moura]]
!!Moura
->Voiced by: Creator/InoriMinase
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_character_moura.png]]

A small, talking, rock-like, half-snake, half-caterpillar creature that calls itself Felia's guardian. She can transform into a mecha among other things.
----
* AbsurdlySharpBlade: She can make her tail long and sharp enough to cut through steel doors like a hot knife through butter.
* HeadPet: Does this with Sogo from time to time, obviously when not in Mecha form.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Starts using a sword when piloted by Sogo in episode 9.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: How she lost the battle in episode 10. [[spoiler: She returns the favor in episode 12.]]
* MsExposition: Explains a few things about Felia from time to time.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: There are a couple of notable instances. One where a startled Sogo accidentally causes her to go into mecha mode, the other where Moura seals Felia's powers before Sogo and Kaon go to school, leaving poor Felia defenseless after Do Mon foolishly leaves her unattended in episode 4.
* OverlyLongName: Mo Litika Sheshes Ura.
* RestrainingBolt: Is on both sides of this. She serves as one for Felia's powers while the symbol on Sogo's hand serves as one for her.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Most of the cast thinks so, at least the ones who aren't villains.
* SamusIsAGirl: Episode 8 reveals that she's a girl, or sees herself as one.
* ShapeShifterBaggage: Is considerably bigger and heavier as a mecha than as the snake-catterpillar thing.
* TeamPet: Usually fills this role when not in combat.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: She and Sogo took an immediate and comedic dislike for one another when they met. By episode 8, they've grown out of it. The primary reason, according to Moura anyway, is that Sogo's proven himself a worthy co-guardian of Felia.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kaon Lanchester]]
!!Kaon Lanchester
->Voiced by: Creator/RieTakahashi
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_chara03_kaon.png]]

A red-headed female friend of Sogo.
----
* ArrangedMarriage: Before the story began, she was planned to marry Roman against her will.
* BabiesEverAfter: [[spoiler:In the end credits, there's a picture of her, Roman, and three children.]]
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: She wears a crop top that shows off her midriff.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: She has rather obvious feelings for her old friend, Sogo.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She starts showing signs of this in episode 6. On the one hand, she declined playing the role of the bride's maid. On the other hand, she didn't want Felia to play it either since the one playing the bride's maid often winds up becoming the bride with "the best man" becoming the groom. She then has to stop and wonder why she's acting like that.
* CoolBigSis: She adores Felia and acts as a doting older sister to her.
* LuminescentBlush: She first showed one in episode 1 while in the pit with Sogo. She shows them on occasion through the series' run.
* RunawayFiance: She escaped from her ArrangedMarriage to Roman in episode 1.
* {{Shorttank}}: She's the slightly tomboyish friend of the male protagonist. Her clothing style fits the trope; a tank top and shorts.
* SignatureHeadgear: She wears a distinctive hair clip that looks like a four-pointed star.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Roman Valstov]]
!!Roman Valstov
->Voiced by: Creator/TakumaTerashima
[[quoteright:230:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_chara04_roman.png]]

Kaon's fiance. Apparent Heir to the Valstov family fortune and company.
----
* ArrangedMarriage: He's engaged to Kaon, but she clearly doesn't want to marry him.
* BabiesEverAfter: [[spoiler:He ends up having three children with Kaon.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: In episode 6, 8, and 9, he comes to the rescue.
* CallingYourAttacks: Loves to shout random names for his attacks while in his mecha.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: His behavior is always just a bit off.
* ConfusionFu: Manages to pull this off with a mecha.
* CoolCar: He owns one.
* DestructiveSavior: Has shot at mechs that were holding Felia on several occasions. Most notable in episode 6 where Kaon has to warn him about accidentally hitting Felia.
* HonorBeforeReason: Claims to seek the ArrangedMarriage for his family's honor. The real reason is unclear.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: While he does have a genuine crush on Kaon, he is willing to respect her feelings and not force her into the ArrangedMarriage.
* LargeHam: Loves to make loud, dramatic entrances.
* SpoiledBrat: Kaon accuses him of being one in episode 1.
---> Kaon: "Good. Then you can stop acting like a cradled child!"
* SupremeChef: One of his very few good points is that he can cook very well. The cast notes that the way he was cooking mushrooms in episode 8 smelled delicious. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, it gets subverted very soon afterwards because he couldn't tell the difference between edible wild mushrooms and poisonous ones.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Otto Moto]]

Roman's servant. He and Roman are always seen together.
----
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: He tries to keep Roman's eccentric behavior in line. He's not always successful.
* TheDriver: Whether it's Roman's cool car, or his mecha, expect Otto in the driver's seat.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: He's a reserved boy whose bangs cover his left eye.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Has this dynamic with Roman.
* RhymingNames: '''Otto''' M'''oto'''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gus Stewart]]
!!Gus Stewart
->Voiced by: Creator/KenjiHamada
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_chara10_gus.png]]

The first imperial commander sent to collect "The Lima," which happens to be Felia.
----
* AceCustom: He's granted a mech called "The Ifrit." Just going from what we've seen in action, it appears to be faster, more durable and able to wield more firepower than the standard issue army mechs. In episode 9, it seems to have a much sturdier cockpit too as it survives an attack far stronger than what has utterly destroyed the cockpit of standard issue mechs.
* TheAlcoholic: Episode 1 has him drinking from a whiskey flask ''while on duty.'' To say that he's got discipline problems is an understatement. He goes back to the flask in episode 10.
* BloodKnight: Seems to get orgasmic in combat. By episode 5, the subtext is dropped and he outright demands to be "made to climax."
* TheBully: In addition to his blood knight tendencies, he doesn't just enjoy fighting, he enjoys ''tormenting'' his opponents. Every single time he gains the upper hand against Moura, he just can't resist the urge to berate and humiliate her. By episode 9, he completely abandons any pretext of a fair fight, and starts shooting at both Sogo and Felia, who are unarmed teenagers. Especially heinous is that he shoots at Felia while she's in the grip of a Mecha and can't move, all while berating Sogo for "making Do Mon weak."
* EasilyForgiven: The ending credits have him [[spoiler: running Do Mon's restaurtant.]]
* FreakOut: Has a truly spectacular one in episode 10 [[spoiler: after finding out from Agent Honeybee that Do Mon is dead.]]
* InsaneTrollLogic: Emphasis on '''insane'''. In episode 9, he ignores orders, abandons his post, and chases down Sogo because Do Mon utterly humiliated him in episode 8, not only yelling at Moura "victory is all that matters. You taught me that.. DO MON!" but then demanding that Sogo summon Do Mon, threatening Felia in the process, despite clearly seeing that Sogo had no means to do so, and knowing full well that Do Mon was somewhere else far away.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Thinks that Do Mon retiring from the army and taking up a civilian life is nothing more than a direct attack at himself, [[InsaneTrollLogic and he blames Sogo for it.]]
* IWasJustPassingThrough: Played with in episode 11. While his actions are ultimately of benefit to Sogo and Moura, he is really only interested in avenging Do Mon.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Shooting at Sogo to torment him, leads to him FallingIntoTheCockpit.
* OffscreenVillainDarkMatter: Gus shows up in episode 11 with a ''second'' Ifrit. We are never shown where he got it.
* VirtueIsWeakness: He calls Do Mon "weak" for being a civilian in good standing as opposed to his "strong" self, who is ''at best'' a serious discipline-issue problem soldier.
* WarIsGlorious: On several occasions he cries out that his "war is not over." In episode 9, he explicitly yells "My war has just begun!" [[spoiler: right before Sogo blows up the Ifrit with him inside.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Patrick "Pack" Yan]]
!!Patrick "Pack" Yan
->Voiced by: Creator/MutsumiTamura
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_chara11_patrick.png]]

A teenage boy that Gus recruits from what appears to be a military prison. On his first appearance, he breaks out of chair restraints and butchers a room full of guards for no real reason.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: His skin tone is quite dark but his race is not stated.
* AxCrazy: He only has two modes. Violent and More violent.
* ChildSoldier: He would appear to be this going by the fact that he was in a military prison and was trained on military equipment.
* CoDragons: Is this with Alfried towards Gus.
* EnfanteTerrible: He can't be any older than Sogo yet he's completely unhinged in a murderously psychotic way.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Despite his complete psychosis, he's ''very'' attached to Gus.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He outright calls Alfried's obsession with Felia "creepy."
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: Lampshaded. He even smashed all of Do Mon's potted plants in front of Felia just to terrify her, and that was ''after'' he was ordered to "be gentle."
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: He has to be ordered to not kill people he meets, and even then he has a hard time restraining himself.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: He somehow sends Roman's mech flying in episode 8. Fortunately for Sogo and Felia, it temporarily disables Alfried's spider tank. [[DestructiveSavior Unfortunately, this also sends Sogo, Felia, and Moura falling down a water fall.]]
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Delivers one to Sogo on their first encounter.
* PsychoKnifeNut: He loves knives. He's rarely far from one.
* PsychoSupporter: To Gus. While anyone who thinks Gus is insane would be perfectly correct, Gus has nothing on Puck.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes are red, and he's very dangerous.
* SlasherSmile: Sports these all the time.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With Alfried. In addition to finding Alfried's obsession creepy, he absolutely loathes how Alfried talks down to him. He once pulled a knife on Alfried to make him stop.
* WouldHitAGirl: Punched Felia causing her to fall off the military mobile base.
* WouldHurtAChild: Gave a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to Sogo, threatening to kill him, because Sogo asked about Felia in episode 5, before coming after Sogo in a mecha in the same episode, and then shoots at both Sogo and Felia, while riding the same mecha in episode 8.

->Voiced by: Creator/JunjiMajima
[[quoteright:170:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_chara12_alfried.png]]

A genius hacker who loves to cause total mayhem in pursuit of his goals. He becomes obsessed with Felia and takes it to max levels of creepiness.
----
* CloseCallHaircut: Suffers one in episode 3.
* TheCracker: If he gets in front of a computer, he can break into any system.
* EasilyForgiven: He doesn't even face criminal charges for what he did in episode 3.
* EntitledToHaveYou: Towards Felia, in the most disturbing and horrific way possible.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: He wears glasses and doesn't care who he hurts as long as he gets what he wants. In fact, he will go out of his way to hurt as many people as he can. He even has a criminal record for it.
* GratuitousFrench
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Quite literally. The cable he cut in episode 3 smashed into his little hideout and gave him a CloseCallHairCut.
* LoveAtFirstSight: He became obsessed with Felia the moment she bumped into him at a crowded festival, and accidentally spilled her cake on his suit, despite trying to prevent the accident by using her powers.
* MinorInjuryOverreaction: Treats his CloseCallHairCut like a permanent, disfiguring injury.
* NeverMyFault: Blames Sogo for the cable that smashed into his hideout, despite being the one that cut it with a remote controlled mecha.
* SpiderTank: He gets one after being recruited by Gus.
* StalkerWithACrush: Very much so towards Felia. The fact that he can hack into any surveillance system, making him nigh-omniscient, is a terrifying prospect. Especially considering the fact that the face he loves seeing most on his "mademoiselle" is one of explicit terror.
* TermsOfEndangerment: He calls Felia his [[GratuitousFrench "mademoiselle"]].
* TooDumbToLive: Lowers the barricade of his hideout so he could have full view of the cable car he was going to have fall, up close and personal. He could easily have been killed by the whiplash of the cable he cut.
* VillainousCrush: Has one on Felia, and is very creepy about it.
* WouldHurtAChild: In addition to the antics of episode 3, he throws a bowl full of soup at Felia because she asked about Sogo in episode 5.
* {{Yandere}}: Not only is he obsessed with seeing Felia's face, he insists they will be "together forever." He even went so far as to try to kill her in episode 3 by cutting the cable holding her car aloft.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Councillor Krone]]
!!Councillor Krone

One of the five Imperial "wise sages." He first appears in the story looking through a telescope while talking about "Lucifer."
----
* EvilIsHammy: He goes into a large ham rant near the end of episode 10. Complete with evil laughter.
* EvilOldFolks: He's a villainous old man.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler: How he meets his end in Episode 11.]]
* IndividualityIsIllegal: Is firmly of the opinion that all the traits that make people people are a hindrance to Utopia. Especially when Felia expresses them.
* OmniscientCouncilOfVagueness: He was part of one at the start of the story.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His actions in capturing and "purifying" Felia directly lead [[spoiler: to putting the entire planet of Gift and its population in mortal danger, and his final orders to the military actually has them fighting the very people trying to save the world.]]
* UnwittingPawn: He could well be this, as episode 9 implies he's taking the "advice" of a murderous shapeshifter. Episode 11 confirms it.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Ironically, the planet Gift is already at a "golden age." He just wants to make it "better."
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He just wants to bring even more prosperity to Gift and the empire. Or so he claims. To do it, he has murdered his colleague and trusted researcher Ena, all his fellow councilors, and ordered the army to mobilize against a handful of teenagers to kidnap a small child. Repeatedly traumatizing her in the process.
* WhatMeasureIsANonhuman: Spends almost the entirety of his appearance in episode 11 derisively calling Felia "a stone."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lilian Anatolia]]
!! Black Moura: "Lilian Anatolia"
->Voiced by: Creator/TomoMuranaka
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilian_anatolia.png]]

Posing as Krone's secretary, this entity has been manipulating events since before the beginning of the series.
----
* BattleAura: She shows one before transforming in episode 11, [[ObviouslyEvil and it's all black.]]
* BeamSpam: Just like Moura.
* CurbstompBattle: Gave one to Sogo and Moura.
* DarkIsEvil: She's all black in mecha form while Moura's white.
* DiabolusExMachina: In episode 10, [[spoiler: appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Felia at the Altar of the Abyss.]]
* EvilCounterpart: To Moura.
* HumansAreInsects: Was truly confounded as to why Felia cared for Sogo. Takes it up a notch in episode 11, showing nothing but disgust and disdain, if not outright hatred, for the people of Gift, not for anything they've done, but simply because they're there.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Her preferred method of killing people.
* LadyMacbeth: All the nasty things Krone has done have been at her urging, or with her complete support.
* ShapeshifterBaggage: Same as Moura.
* ShockAndAwe: In addition to beam spams, the spear can carry a powerful electric charge.
* ShoutOut: Having the ability to shapeshift into other people as well as transform her arms into blades may be a reference to the T-1000 from the ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}'' franchise.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Just like Councilor Krone, she claims she's doing what she's doing "to make the world better." [[spoiler: Unfortunately, the "world" she's talking about is '''not''' Gift.]]
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Quite literally. [[spoiler: The death of her angel killed her planet, Earth, and after centuries of solitude, watching no less than three civilizations rise and fall on Gift, she went mad with envy, deciding the only way to create Utopia is to slam the two planets together.]]

The owner of the cafe where Sogo lives. A mild-mannered old man who loves to make coffee.
----
* GoodIsNotNice: He's quite unflappable most of the time, but threaten Sogo, and he can get downright murderous.
* FriendlySniper: He used to be a sniper in the armed forces, and he's very affable.
* IdiotBall: He seems to juggle it throughout the series. On the one hand, he's smart enough to spot a mole, and he knows who trashed his establishment in episode 4. On the other, he's done some really stupid things like leave a child with the mental capacity of a five year old completely unattended in a large house/cafe with no way to call for help if anything went wrong while a typhoon was bearing down on them. Even if people weren't after Felia, there's a lot that could have happened to her.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: His actions in episodes 8 and 9 are all about this. His attempts to get the Imperial army to stop going after Sogo (Felia be damned) only served to make everything worse.
* RetiredBadass: He's retired from the Imperial military, but he can still make Gus look bad without even trying, and that's after supposedly being out of practice for years.
* SacrificialLion: Word of his death in episode 10 gives Gus a much-needed HeelRealization.
* SupremeChef: According to Sogo, after years of practice, Do Mon makes the best curry in the world, although Do Mon never managed to duplicate Ena's recipe.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: A truly infuriating one in episode 8. [[spoiler: He sneaks into Gus's mobile HQ, steals Gus's security card, and then utterly humiliates Gus by showing how easy it would have been to kill him before telling Gus exactly what he was going to do.]]

-----
* BaguetteBeatdown: [[spoiler: comes to the rescue of sogo and the others using various breads as weapons, including a melonpan grenade.]]
* CallToAgriculture: In the ending credits of episode 12, she's working on a dairy farm.
* TheMole: [[spoiler: She's agent Honeybee.]]
* ShipTease: With Do Mon.
* VillainousBsod: Suffers from one in episode 8.
