[[foldercontrol]]
!Main Fighters
[[folder:General]]
* AlienHair: All female fighters (except Mechanica and Dr. Coyle), as well as Misango, have hair that matches the material their ARMS are made of.
* EnsembleCast: Even though by means of marketing, the game's leads are fairly obvious[[note]]Spring Man and Ribbon Girl[[/note]], [[WordOfGod Mr. Yabuki]] is on the record of considering there to ''be'' no main character -- or rather, in his words, "everyone's the protagonist".
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Each human fighter has a spiral pattern to their pupils. Likely a side effect of whatever it is that gave them their ARMS, as Mechanica, the only human without the ARMS power, has normal eyes.
* HomeStage: Every fighter in the game has their own stadium, explained below.
* JustWokeUpThatWay: Similarly, all human fighters simply had ARMS one day when they didn't the day before, excluding Mechanica. Dr. Coyle is another exception, though, in that she gave ''herself'' ARMS, their unique nature as coils around a solid arm a visual indicator. While Kid Cobra is one of the rare few to be born with the ability.
* {{Kayfabe}}: As can be expected from a professional combat sport, even in a fantastical setting, most of the cast are playing up a persona, albeit for many informed by genuine personal motivations. Even though the likes of Master Mummy and Kid Cobra play up the {{Heel}} angle, they're all actually very affable people.[[note]]Save for [[MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate Dr.]] [[GreaterScopeVillain Coyle]], anyway...[[/note]]
* MaskOfPower: All the fighters part of the ARMS phenomena wear masks. This accessory puts the wearer's ARMS into the battle-ready coiled form. When the masks are off, then the arms, hair, etc. of focus behave normally.
** As shown in the FCBD comic, they also acts as power regulators since ARMS tend to randomly manifest even without the masks, putting the masks on gives back control.
* MultiNationalTeam: Min Min seems to be Chinese, Ninjara Japanese, Twintelle French and Lola Pop Italian. By virtue of being a {{Mummy}}, Master Mummy may be Egyptian. Spring Man's home stage bears an [[WhiteMaleLead uncanny resemblance to New York.]] Along with [[EagleLand Max Brass, he's one of the few with an American accent]] (Max's trailer also makes use of red, white, and blue rings to introduce him). Ribbon Girl and Mechanica both mostly speak in English phrases with heavy Japanese accents, Misango speaks Japanese with a [[{{Mayincatec}} Latin American]] accent and Dr. Coyle seems to have a mild Australian accent, despite speaking American English.
* PaletteSwap: Each character has 4 color schemes they can go with. Their fans will match their outfit accordingly.
* PersonalityPowers: The form that a person's ARMS take tie into something most significant towards them, and may change accordingly. For example, WordOfGod states that Max Brass' ARMS became a championship belt motif as a result of being champion for so long.
* PokemonSpeak: Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Mechanica, Min Min, Twintelle, Byte, and Kid Cobra have a habit of saying their full name or a part of it on the character select screen, within matches and on their Win screens.
* PubertySuperpower: ARMS usually manifest in teenagers at night or upon waking. Considering Mechanica is still in her mid teens, she may actually still have a chance at natural ARMS someday. Kid Cobra averts this by being born with the ARMS ability, which is apparently extremely rare.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: All fighters possess the ability to do a Rush, which turns their ARMS' recoil into a hail of punches. Mind, this varies in capability depending on the ARM and the fighter.[[note]]For example, a character like Spring Man will be far faster than one like Master Mummy with his own ARMS.[[/note]]
* SuperStrength: Everyone, even scrawny characters like Kid Cobra and Ribbon Girl, can lift heavyweight fighters like Master Mummy and Max Brass.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Spring Man]]
!!Spring Man
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/springman.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: ''The Bouncer'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Peter Von Gomm

A balanced fighter whose ARMS take the shape of springs. He's hot-blooded and has a strong determination to win. His unique traits are that he can repel punches while charging with a shockwave, and that once he hits critical health, his ARMS will stay charged.
----
* FiftiesHair: His [[DelinquentHair cobalt blue]] [[SpringCoil spring-like hair]] does give him a meaning. Although he isn't a delinquent himself, his hair seems to be a reminiscent of a typical pompadour worn by JapaneseDelinquents.
* TheAce: Coyle's notes on Spring Man reveal that many consider him to be the best in the league, and she seemed to concur with the notion.[[note]]That is, until building Springtron, whom she feels takes that position -- after herself, naturally.[[/note]] When the world's authority on all things ARMS shares the notion, you ''know'' it has grounding.
* AllAmericanFace: His physical body closely evokes shades of Little Mac, a native New Yorker, his home stage of Spring Stadium is in what closely [[BigApplesauce resembles a downtown of that very city]], and his color scheme is red, white and blue.
* AttackReflector: [[DownplayedTrope It's only temporary]], but when charging, he lets out mini shockwaves that can stop incoming ARMS before contact, but the shockwaves will not hurt his opponents if successful. This allows him to either get out of the way or punish his opponents for falling into the trick.
* BattleBoomerang: His Boomerang ARMS, naturally.
* BigEater: His bio says he can eat 12 pizzas in one sitting.
* BigWhat: It is one of his reactions when his shield breaks. [[spoiler:This is also his reaction to [[GreaterScopeVillain Dr.]] [[EvilGenius Coyle]] delivering [[FinalBoss Max]] [[WorldsStrongestMan Brass]] a CurbStompBattle in Grand Prix mode at [[HarderThanHard level 6 or 7]].]]
* BlowYouAway: His secondary Boomerang ARMS are Wind-elemental.
* ColorCodedCharacters: {{Blue|IsHeroic}} and [[RealMenWearPink magenta-ish]] {{red|IsHeroic}}.
* ComebackMechanic: When he's low on health, his sheer determination causes his punches to be permanently charged. He ain't called "[[HeroicSecondWind The Comeback King of Spring]]" for no reason.
* CriticalStatusBuff: When his health gets low, all of his attacks become charged attacks.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Described in his bio as a goofy guy off the ring, but a force to be reckoned with ''in'' the ring.
* {{Eagleland}}: Type 1. He's the ideal American to the core--well meaning, hard working, able to rise to the top, and a hearty eater.
* {{Face}}: While all the fighters have a fair share of fans he is likely this to Master Mummy's and/or Kid Cobra's {{Heel}}.
* FriendToAllChildren: The 5/17 Directs mentions he's popular with kids. One piece of production art even shows him keeping a young fan [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-8zsW0VwAARP2i.jpg out of harm's way]] when he fails to LookBothWays before getting his hat back.
* HeroProtagonist: More or less the main character of the game, with a StockShonenHero personality to boot.
* HomeStage: Spring Stadium is his home arena.
* ImprobableHairstyle: It might be possible to replicate the major portions of his pompadour if one had the hairstyling skills, but probably not the spring-shaped sideburns he also sports.
* JackOfAllStats: He's said to have more balanced abilities than the other fighters.
* LegacyCharacter: He's the third person to hold the name of Spring Man.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmcFSrjv8wE A more intense arrangement of the main ARMS theme]], fitting for the SeriesMascot.
* {{Mascot}}: The Free Comic Book Day preview of his story reveals that "Spring Man" is the mascot of Spring Gym, and a widely respected title. Our Spring Man had to test as one of ''600'' applicants to apply for the role.
* MundaneUtility: One piece of official artwork shows him extending an arm in order to reach and change the TV channel.
* TheParalyzer: His Tribolt ARMS have the Stun element, and their SpreadShot capabilities mean that it's much more likely to get a hit in that will halt your opponent in their tracks.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Downplayed example with Ribbon Girl, as he also wears a magenta-ish red color.
* PlayingWithFire: His default and picturesque ARMS are the Toasters, gloves that engulf his punches in flame when charged. Oddly fitting for a HotBlooded guy like him.
* PowerFist: His primary Toaster ARMS are glove-type weapons.
* PrimaryColorChampion: More or less the main character of the game, he's primarily colored blue and red.
* RealMenWearPink: Although he isn't wearing any forms of pink for his main palette, one of his alternative color palettes gives him pink shorts and dyes his hair to pink.
* RedBoxingGloves: Happens to be the case with his primary default ARMS, the Toaster.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: He will often shout out some of the violence-related words, regardless if he finishes off the opponent or not. Whatever if he says "Pow!" when throwing his opponents or "Boi-oi-oing!" when jumping off of the Mausoleum trampolines can be at least random when he says something.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: In the yelping sense. This sometimes happens when he's grabbed and/or thrown in the air.
* SeriesMascot: A spot he seems to share with Ribbon Girl, as they were the first two characters revealed and they've both been heavily featured in all of the game's promotional material so far.
* {{Shoryuken}}: His grab attack involves setting up the victim with an uppercut, then following with a dragon punch with his opposite hand. Coincidentally, this makes it similar to [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu's]] Shin Shoryuken.
* SpiritedCompetitor: As his bio indicates. He was literally ''drooling'' at the idea of fighting in [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Smash Bros]].
* SpreadShot: His tertiary Tribolt ARMS are a horizontal-type multi-shot weapon, and come with the Stun attribute.
* SpringCoil: Has this as a motif, from his swirly pompadour to his spring-like arms.
* StockShonenHero: His bio says that he's a bit of a goofball, but trains incredibly hard to reach the champion's belt. He can even make a comeback through sheer determination alone! And like many characters of this type, he's quite the BigEater; able to eat 12 pizzas in one go!
* ToBeAMaster: Like your typical StockShonenHero, he wants to be the very best, like no one ever was.
* TooManyBelts: The visual in his ending shows a bunch of belts being worn around his arms- likely in motivation of wearing the Champion's Belt.
* TotallyRadical: He considers his arms to be "rad".
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Pizza according to his official profile. He can eat [[BigEater 12 pies in one go]] even! A piece of official artwork even shows him enjoying a slice.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]], as Spring Man ''was'' by his own volition fairly freaked out at his mutation, but he took to it pretty quickly.
* VisualPun: He's a StockShonenHero who, when defeated, ''[[HeroicSecondWind springs]]'' [[{{Determinator}} back into action]].
* YouAreTheNewTrend: If Ninjara is facing against Spring Man in the former's Grand Prix while they are in Spring Stadium, Biff mentions the latter's fans have started copying his iconic [[FiftiesHair pompadour]] hairstyle.

[[folder:Ribbon Girl]]
!!Ribbon Girl
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ribbongirl.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: ''The Airess'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Momoka Kawasaki

An agile fighter with ribbon ARMS who's also an IdolSinger. Her unique traits are that she can jump four times consecutively, air dash twice in a row, and that she can fast-fall to the ground which charges her ARMS instantly.
----
* AlienHair: It's hard to tell unless you're looking closely, but Ribbon Girl's hair is also made of ribbons.
* BlowYouAway: Her secondary Popper ARMS have the Wind element.
* ColorCodedCharacters: {{Pink|Heroine}} and bright yellow.
* CombatStilettos: Wears heeled boots while fighting as seen in [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/853852976997253120 this]] official art.
* DistaffCounterpart: Downplayed when it comes to Spring Man. While she is the female lead of the game opposite Spring Man, her abilities are completely different from his.
* DoubleJump: Or rather, ''Quadruple Jump''. She can jump in the air up to ''four'' times in a row.
* FragileSpeedster: In exchange for her significant advantage on jumping and aerial manuevers, she has a smaller hitbox size and is easier to knock back. Aside from that however, she's somewhat about average in other stats (similar to Spring Man).
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Pretty girly but into martial arts. She also got a Not-So-TomboyishPonytail.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Her blonde "hair" resembles a single ribbon.
* HomeStage: Ribbon Ring is her home arena.
* HumanHammerThrow: Her grab attack has her spin around with the opponent once before throwing them.
* IdolSinger: She likes to sing, and is described as "the pop star of the ring". Her home stage, Ribbon Ring, visibly takes place on a concert stage.
* ImprobableHairstyle: Her hair is as ribbon-like as her ARMS.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iZy86c9f3A A techno-pop song]] with Ribbon Girl singing along to the music.
* MagicMusic: She can be heard singing a note, surrounding herself with a ring of musical notes, when using her extra jumps.
* ModestyShorts: Wears these to avoid having a MagicSkirt.
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: Ribbon Girl's grab attack damages opponents when they're knocked to the ground, since she throws them to the side after grabbing them instead of hitting them.
* PinkIsFeminine: She's decked out near-completely in pink and looks girly.
* PlayingWithFire: Her tertiary Slapamander ARMS are fire-elemental.
* PowerFist: Her primary Sparky ARMS are glove-type weapons.
* PungeonMaster: Makes a lot of puns out of her name, such as "Ribbonado!" when she executes a throw, or "Ribboh-no!" when she's knocked off her feet.
* {{Regal Ringlet|s}}: Her ponytail.
* TheRival: In virtually every piece of advertisement they're featured in, she's throwing down with [[TheHero Spring Man]].
* SeriesMascot: She was revealed alongside Spring Man, and has been featured just as heavily in most videos about the game.
* ShockAndAwe: Her default ARMS, Sparky, give her punches an electrical current when charged.
* WeightWoe: Her weight is listed as "No comment".
* [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Why Did It Have To Be Lightning?]]: If you have Springtron to pit against Ribbon Girl in the Grand Prix, it is revealed that she is [[{{Irony}} ironically]] afraid of lightning. Biff even questioned why she is carrying Sparky, her primary ARM in the first place.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ninjara]]
!!Ninjara
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ninjara_2.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Student of Stealth'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Kenji Takahashi

A student ninja who fights with [[ChainPain chain]] ARMS. His unique traits are that he can warp short distances while air-dashing and he can teleport to the side while blocking attacks.
----
* AnimeHair: ''Somehow'', his ponytail looks like a shuriken.
* BadassBookworm: His profile mentions that he likes reading, and studies at Rasen Ninjutsu University.
* CanineCompanion: [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/873735818371776512 If this tweet is anything to go by he owns a dog.]]
* ChainedByFashion: His glasses, headphones and ponytail are attached to each other in the fashion of chains and even [[ChainPain his ARMS are made out of chains]].
* ColorCodedCharacters: Green and dark blue.
* FragileSpeedster: He's the fastest character in the game in terms of walking speed, has also excellent dash distance, and his ability to teleport attacks (even if blocking). However, his shield-warp ability isn't reliable to defend against rushes.
* GratuitousNinja: He's a ninja in a game about boxing in televised bouts. Lampshaded in the 5/17 Direct, when Biff comments it seems a bit weird for a stealthy ninja to be participating in the ARMS Tournament.
* HavingABlast: His Triblast ARMS have the Explosion element.
* HeadphonesEqualIsolation: Looks like a lone wolf kind of character. His profile also mentions that, besides reading, his other favorite thing to do is hide.
* HomeStage: Ninja College is his home arena.
* TheLancer: A serious and sharp customer with a similar build to the plucky and rounded hero Spring Man. One of his official pre-release screenshots has him in a MirroredConfrontationShot [[https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/aabqa/fighter/3/img/img.jpg with Spring Man]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo5BfWtUxLk An intense track using traditional Japanese instruments.]]
* MeteorMove: His grab attack has him lift the victim with a flip kick, doing a SmokeOut, then spiking the opponent to the ground.
* NinjaSchool: Ninjara is a student at Rasen Ninjutsu University, a college for ninjas and is competing in ARMS battles for his senior project. [[WackyCollege It's also his home stage.]]
* NonElemental: His Buff ARMS have no element, but they can charge up to deal extra damage.
* PowerFist: His Buffs are basic gloves with no element.
* PunnyName: Ninjara is a pun on Ninja (obviously) and ‘’Jarajara’’, the Japanese onomatopoeia for chains rattling.
* RealMenWearPink: Although his default palette is blue and sea green, one of the alternative palettes gives him pink hair and adds in line of pink to his tight gear and scarf.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Big time. Those eyes, backed up by his chain-like glasses made him look like a formidable, sneaky fighter.
* RingsOfDeath: His primary Chakram ARMS are based on the Indian weapon, additionally serving as a [[BattleBoomerang boomerang]].
* TheRival: In addition to the MirroredConfrontationShot screencap above, [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C_BiLMLUwAAlTgW.jpg this artwork]] makes it very clear.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Wears a scarf.
* SmokeOut: His dodge has him disappear in a puff of smoke while appearing a short direction away. Since this does not telegraph the direction he's going, it can be used to confuse the opponent. He also does this when guarding an attack as opposed to blocking and taking chip damage.
* SpreadShot: His tertiary Triblast ARMS are similar to Spring Man's Tribolt, but with the Explosion element.
* StoicSpectacles: Looks like a serious guy. If you look closely, his glasses (and headphones) are chains!
* TechnicolorNinjas: While his outfit is of the sort of dark color's you'd expect from a ninja, his hair is a bright neon green with a shuriken ponytail.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Master Mummy]]

!!Master Mummy
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mastermummy.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Grim Creeper'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Kouji Takeda

A massive {{mummy}} who can extend his punches with his bandages. He does not flinch from weak ARMS punches, and his unique trait is that he can regain a bit of health when he guards.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''M'''aster '''M'''ummy.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: His skintone is uniquely purple.
* BackFromTheDead: Biff mentions he woke up in a mausoleum which is later revealed to have been the fault of Coyle's experiments somehow.
* BattleBoomerang: His Phoenix [=ARMS=], despite being bird-shaped, essentially act like one.
* TheBigGuy: The largest, strongest, and meanest looking of them all, but has a soft spot for his family.
* BigOlEyebrows: Has two bandages above his eyes that resemble this.
* ChummyMummy: Sure, he's big, scary looking, and fights just as hard as the other fighters, but he cares for his family, is cool with his fans, and is a sensitive guy overall. Not so much when he gets in the ring; this is a fighting game, after all.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Mainly purple and white.
* {{Conlang}}: If you look closely the bandages that make up his ARMS are covered with this style of writing. With his status of being some thousands of years old they're probably this game's take on hieroglyphics (Or simply the game's unique written language in general).
* EarnYourHappyEnding: His post-credits visual shows him with his family as they get interviewed by Biff.
* FamilyMan: According to his profile, he loves his family, but their location is unknown. He's been searching for them ever since he woke up.
* GatlingGood: His Retorcher ARMS act as a slow-firing machine-gun.
* GentleGiant: He loves his family and has shown below he also cares about his fans given the fact he has at least rescued a young boy's balloon from floating away (which makes a bit of sense given when we see his family in the ending it consists of just himself, his wife, and their child). Biff also refers to him as being rather sensitive when he's Coyle's opponent.
* TheGiant: Is the tallest fighter of a consistent height at 7'6". (Helix can occasionally beat him due to the fact that the tallest he can stretch is 8'2".)
* {{Heel}}: He's pretty big and scary in the ring, so one would assume him as a villain, but it turns out he's a friendly guy otherwise. His favorite thing is his family, and he also [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/864369372063608836 cares about his fans]].
* HomeStage: Mausoleum is his home arena.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: As seen in his ending, he utterly dwarfs his wife in size.
* ImmuneToFlinching: He doesn't flinch from weaker attacks.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPkc87WjyK0 Ominous and creepy rock for the ominous and creepy mummy.]]
* MeteorMove: His grab attack has him slam the opponent into the ground with his outstretched ARMS.
* MightyGlacier: He is the largest and heaviest character in the starting cast of the game, and by that token, one of the slowest. While his large size and low mobility doesn't do him much favors in avoiding punches, he makes up for it with his powerful punches, the strongest grab attack of the fighters, and the ability to regain health while defending, giving him both offensive and defensive strengths.
* {{Mummy}}: Master Mummy is well, a mummy, complete with bandages for ARMS.
* NonElemental: His signature Megaton ARMS do not have any special attributes, but increase in size when charged.
* PlayingWithFire: His secondary Retorcher and tertiary Phoenix weapons are both fire-elemental.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Has dark purple skin, his small bit of clothing, the writing on his ARMS, and even some of his main equipment choices belong to the color family. Definitely is on the strong side.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: A muscular mummy who can pack a punch.
* RegeneratingHealth: He regains health when blocking.
* RuleOfThree: His family is him, his wife, and their child which totals to this number.
* SpikeBallsOfDoom: Downplayed with his signature Megaton ARMS, which appear to have blunted spikes all over them.
* UglyGuyHotWife: He's not exactly ''ugly'', but he's not that much of a looker. His wife, by contrast, is beautiful despite also being a mummy.
* VagueAge: Master Mummy's age is unknown. Given that he's a mummy, it's likely in the ''millennia''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Min Min]]
!!Min Min
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/minmin.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Ramen Bomber'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Haruna Takatsu

A martial artist with noodle ARMS who serves as the poster girl for her family's ramen shop. Her unique trait is that she can deflect attacks while dashing with her kicks, even in mid-air. Her left arm can turn into a dragon after a long charge or successful throw and can stay charged until knocked down.
----
* AlienHair: Her hair may look like a blonde bob cut at first glance, but it's actually made of ramen noodles! It's implied that her beanie hat is the ramen bowl.
* AnimalMotifs: While Min Min's arms are noodles by default, one of them can take the form of a dragon. Elements of this dragon theme can also be spotted in her shorts and shoes through texture and design.
* AnimeChineseGirl: She's Chinese-inspired, loves noodles, and incorporates kung fu into her fighting.
* BilingualBonus:
** Her ChestInsignia is a stylized version of "麺", the Japanese kanji (and traditional Chinese character) for noodles.
** While her given name in English is "Min Min", the Japanese pronunciation takes care to add a separate sound to her name, making it sound more like "miàn miàn", the Chinese word for noodles that would evolve into "ramen".
** Her attack call-outs and victory lines are in Chinese as well:
*** "好吃!" (Hǎo chī!) - "Yum!"
*** "我愛拉麵!" (Wǒ ài lāmiàn!) - "I love ramen!"
*** "谢谢!" (Xièxiè) - "Thanks!"
* BlushSticker: More noticeable in close-ups, like during character selection menu and in her victory poses.
* BreakoutCharacter: If winning the Party Crash Bash tournament didn't solidify her as this, then becoming the playable ''ARMS'' representative for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'' certainly did. [[Main/CreatorsFavorite Even]] ''[[Main/CreatorsFavorite ARMS]]'' [[Main/CreatorsFavorite producer Kosuke Yabuki loves her]], and personally recommended Min Min to join Smash.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Orange, with a bit of green.
* EdibleBludgeon: The fact her arms are made of ramen brings a literal take to being a noodle person.
* EnergyWeapon: If equipped with the Dragon ARM, she can blast laser beams.
* HartmanHips: Her hips are very wide, maybe even wider than Twintelle’s hips given her looser clothing. Probably from all the ramen.
* HomeStage: Ramen Bowl is her home arena.[[note]]Though this is not her home stage for her appearance in ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate'', where they went with Spring Stadium instead.[[/note]]
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Min Min's arms and hair are made out of ramen noodles.
* KickChick: She's the first character shown to have the ability to kick, which she uses to deflect her opponent's attacks.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qjkcj7i5fko Classical Chinese instruments mixed with a strong techno beat.]]
* {{Mukokuseki}}: Despite being Chinese-influenced in appearance and her costume's design, she looks like a blonde thanks to her noodle hair.
* MeaningfulName: Min Min seems to have a ThemeNaming for her love of ramen in general. In the Japanese sense, her Japanese name is actually a transcription of "Miàn Miàn", which means "Noodle Noodle" in Chinese.
* MyNaymeIs: Her name is pronounced Men Men by the Japanese announcer even though text says Min Min in the Japanese trailer as well. It may be the actual pronunciation, as Min Min herself says her own name "Men Men" when chosen.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Twice over. Not only does she have dragon-themed ARMS that fire lasers, but she can overcharge her left arm into a dragon that permanently charges and enlarges its equipped ARM until she takes a huge hit, regardless of which ARM is equipped to it.
* PaletteSwap: Min Min's dragon arm will change colors along with her clothes.
* PerpetualFrowner: In-game, she always has either a determined scowl or an ambivalent grimace, even in her victory animations. The only few times we see her smiling is a nervous smile in one of her character arts where she's surrounded by younger fans, and a particularly big smile in another one after winning the Party Crash Bash. In another art, while the other girls seem excited at the presence of Lola Pop, she's scowling. However she's seen smiling in both her trailer and her official render for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate''.
* PlayingWithFire: Her Dragon and Ramram ARMS are capable of burning opponents.
* PunnyName: The bearer of the Ramram ARMS is named Min Min.
* RepetitiveName: Min Min. Also her chakram ARMS Ramram.
* TheResenter: Is said to be somewhat jealous of Ribbon Girl becoming successful in such a short amount of time.
* ShockAndAwe: Accompanying Min Min's signature Dragon ARM on official art is the "Shock" attributed Megawatt.
* ShoutOut: The name of her family's noodle place is Mintendo Noodle House, playing on her own name and [[Creator/{{Nintendo}} her creator's name]]. Similarly, its Japanese name (麺天飯食堂, or "heavenly noodle eatery") is a play on the kanji for Nintendo (任天堂, which is generally interpreted as "leave luck to heaven").
* SpikeBallsOfDoom: Downplayed; like Master Mummy's Megatons, her Megawatts have blunted spikes all over them.
* StealthPun: Her name is derived from the word, "ramen," given that her arms are literally made of ramen noodles.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Appropriately, her favorite food is her mother's ramen. This goes to the point where one of her victory phrases is "I like ramen" in Chinese.
* WeightWoe: Though her English bio lists her weight as "unimportant", in Japanese she's said to be dieting.

[[caption-width-right:350:''The Scrapyard Scrapper'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AyumiFujimura

A teenage girl not born with the power of ARMS but pilots a MiniMecha in battle to keep up. The mech allows her to armor through weaker attacks much like Master Mummy and her unique trait is the mech's jetpack, which gives her more agility for dashing and hovering in the air.
----
* AscendedFangirl: She's a fan of her fellow boxers who now gets the chance to fight against them.
* BadassNormal: She's the only member of the cast who lacks the ARMS ability. She uses a robot as a substitute. Along with the artificial fighters Helix and Byte & Barq, she is classified as a "second generation" fighter.
* {{Bookworm}}: She really enjoys reading, and sometimes uses her mech as a portable library.
* BrainyBrunette: Her profile mentions she's fifteen, which currently makes her the youngest human member of the cast. Despite this, she's able to competently pilot a flying mecha and operate its weapons in the heat of battle.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Yellow.
* {{Expy}}: A teenage mechanical genius who fights among superhumans in a self-designed MiniMecha equipped with hoverjets and assorted weapons immediately brings to mind both [[VideoGame/{{Overwatch}} D.Va]] and [[VideoGame/MegaManLegends Tron Bonne]].
* {{Fangirl}}: According to her profile, she's a big fan of the other ARMS fighters, especially Ribbon Girl. She also seems to be a fan of Max Brass, considering she "grew up watching him dominate the ARMS League" and even met him in person when she was younger.
* FutureSpandex: [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/854577369889165312 Out of practicality, she wears one inside her Mini Mecha.]]
* GatlingGood: Her primary Revolver ARMS act as a slow-firing rotary gun.
* GeniusSweetTooth: Implied by Biff when she goes up against Lola Pop, who reminds her that she can have her sweets after her hard work.
* HavingABlast: Her tertiary Homie ARMS have the Explosion element, which perfectly fit their missile shape.
* HomeStage: Scrapyard is her home arena.
* HomingProjectile: Her tertiary Homie ARMS take the form of missiles that lack manual control but home in greatly on the opponent.
* IdiotHair: Despite being a BrainyBrunette.
* ImmuneToFlinching: Justified; since she pilots a mecha, weaker attacks won't make her flinch. In one of his explanations of the fighters Biff refers to her as "The Rocket Girl Who Never Flinches".
* InstantAwesomeJustAddMecha: Mechanica fights by piloting a MiniMecha, complete with heavy armor and a hovering jetpack.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBL5hGeYVCQ Mechanica gets a spacey techno song]], with what sounds like a distorted version of her voice in parts.
* LittleMissBadass: [[ShorterMeansSmarter Little and smart]]? Check. Miss? Check. {{Badass|Normal}}? Check!
* MightyGlacier: She and her mech are quite slow, although not to the extent of Master Mummy, by having better dash and jump distances. Her grab attacks are only barely stronger than Spring Man and Ribbon Girl, to put in comparison.
* MiniMecha: Mechanica's mecha suit is large enough for her to pilot comfortably, and when seated, allows her to reach Master Mummy in height.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: The only human fighter without ARMS, and as a result, she also lacks the neon colored eyes with swirl patterns in the pupils that the other human fighters possess.
* TheParalyzer: Her Whammer ARMS have the Stun element and can interrupt enemies when they hit.
* SciFiBobHaircut: Has her hair in a bob and has a science theme.
* ShockAndAwe: Her Revolver ARMS have the Electric element.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: Outside her mecha, Mechanica is at least 5'1" according to her bio. This makes her the smallest of the human fighters.
* TheSmartGuy: Too weak to fight on her own, but smart enough to make a mech suit to do it for her. In the 5/17 Direct Biff mentions that she must be a genius. Confirmed for certain thanks to how one of the highest stats on her profile's graph is IQ.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Or goggles, in her case.
* TheTeamNormal: Unlike the other human fighters, she was not RandomlyGifted with ARMS powers. Instead, she's just a regular girl fighting in a robotic suit she built herself, that has similar capabilities to ARMS.
* TeenGenius: Considering her very high IQ, that she designed, built and maintains her MiniMecha herself, and pilots it in direct combat at the age of just fifteen? This goes without saying! According to the gallery, she's even hired to repair the other fighters' ARMS weapons.
* WrenchWench: She built the mech unit she uses herself and knows how to operate it.

[[folder:Twintelle]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/twintelle_5.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Silver Screen Queen'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Adeyto

A famous movie star whose ARMS are in her hair (leaving her with regular arms where they should be). Her unique trait is her Actress Aura, which can slow down time to allow her to dodge punches, float, and charge her attacks even in midair.
----
* AmazonianBeauty: In contrast with her traditionally feminine beauty and curvaceous built, she also has rather broad shoulder and well-defined muscles on her regular arms acquired through fitness training, most noticeable [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DDZl7qLXsAEfHpi.jpg in this image of her pulling weights with both of her set of arms]]. Mr. Yabuki has also talked about her "strong build" in interviews regarding her.
* BattleBoomerang: Like Master Mummy's Phoenix, her bird-shaped Thunderbird ARMS act as this.
* BlowYouAway: Her Parasol ARMS come with the Wind element.
* BulletTime: When she charges up, it slows down her opponent's punches.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Gold, white, and light pink.
* CombatStilettos: Wears high heels.
* TheDiva: Twintelle, the eldest of the original female fighters, is marked by her glamorous lifestyle. She's a movie star, and much more refined and mature than the TeenIdol Ribbon Girl. Her body language (whether it be her arms crossed, her hands on her hips, the way she walks (see below) or the fancy poses she makes with her actress aura) exudes elegance, confidence, strength and refinement. The textbook definition of a diva.
* EveryoneLooksSexierIfFrench
* GratuitousFrench: She says ''"Bien joué!"'' ("Good game!") when she wins a round. She also says phrases like ''"Au revoir!"'' or ''"C'est parti!"'' during some of her grabs.
* HartmanHips: There’s a reason the Internet went crazy over her. Her hips protrude from her waist. She’s also got a big butt, so she fits the “large buttocks” part of the trope.
* HomeStage: Cinema Deux is her home arena.
* AnIcePerson: Her signature weapons are the stone-cold Chillas, gloves with the ability to freeze enemies in place and slow their movements.
* JackOfAllStats: She's designed as an all-around fighter. Her stats are similar to Spring Man, albeit with slightly higher grab damage, better air dashes and a slightly larger hit box size.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Wears jewelry and high heels while fighting. She even [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/1e12e5e80f8a56e843688cb29f334c8c/tumblr_oqb10dtcJI1u26fxjo1_400.gifv makes cartwheel flips in her get-up animations while wearing said heels]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9ugW0du6bo A big band jazz remix of the main ARMS theme]], which sounds like it came right out of a Hollywood movie.
* LongHairIsFeminine: Carries a very refined and ladylike attitude, with long white hair to match.
* MaleGaze: In her introductory trailer, the first view we see of her is her back and [[https://imgur.com/uWNXNKX her prominent derrière]]. Even a [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/882071237110808576 tweet]] showing her preferred clothing brand puts focus onto her backside.
* MsFanservice: Curvaceous figure, alluring appeal, SupermodelStrut, a strong helping of MaleGaze, and being [[EveryoneLooksSexierIfFrench a French actress]] all add up to this trope.
* ParasolOfPrettiness: [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/866247219845881856 An official piece of artwork shows one of her twintails shielding her from the sunlight with one of these as she lays back at a table with a cup of tea and reading a book.]] Appropriately, the Parasol ARMS are one of her three starter ARMS.
* ParasolOfPain: Her secondary Parasol ARMS are [[BlowYouAway wind-powered]] umbrellas that also serve as shields.
* PowerFist: Her primary Chilla ARMS are glove-type weapons.
* PowerFloats: In her tea-sipping win animation, she appears to be sitting in mid-air.
* PrehensileHair: While a majority of the other current fighters had their ARMS powers show up in, well... their arms, Twintelle's instead manifested in the form of long locks capable of pummelling her opponents.
* PunnyName: Doubling as a MeaningfulName based on her mega twintails which she is able to use in battle instead of ARMS.
* RegalRinglets: Her curls are appropriate for a movie star, and pack quite the punch.
* RuleOfGlamorous: When zoomed in closely sprinkles of golden glitter can be noticed on her skin.
* ShockAndAwe: Her tertiary Thunderbird ARMS have the Electric element.
* ShoutOut: Twintelle is a curvy {{Fanservice}} character that uses hair for her fighting style. She also has something to do with roses, a {{Dominatrix}} personality and the ability to slow down time. She's pretty much an E10+ version of [[VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}} Bayonetta]].
* SomethingAboutARose: Some of her moves seem to summon what look like golden rose petals. A visual on the ARMS Twitter shows a bottle of perfume with a metallic rose right next to it which can be taken as her signature scent.
* StatuesqueStunner: Obviously a very alluring woman besides, her bio mentions she's 180 centimeters or 5'10" which makes her one more centimeters taller than Ninjara, and currently the tallest of the female fighters (Ribbon Girl is 5'5", Mechanica is 5'1" outside her mecha, Min Min is 5'4", Lola is 5'8", and Dr. Coyle is a close second at 5'9"). Mind, this is even ''without'' her visually several-inch heels, which easily put her over six feet.
* SupermodelStrut: Her walking animation has her [[ThirdPersonSeductress sensually swinging her hips]] while [[https://i.imgur.com/GNvr6It.gif putting her hands on them]], illustrating her status as a glamorous ProudBeauty.
* SuperpowerLottery: Twintelle is a rare case of someone being affected by the ARMS phenomenon but getting to keep all of their body parts where they should be, instead ''gaining'' a pair of relatively unobtrusive limbs in the form of PrehensileHair.
* TrademarkFavoriteDrink: She can be seen enjoying a cup of tea during various portions of her trailer, on her main visual, and in one of her victory animations.

[[folder:Byte and Barq]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/byte&barq.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Clockwork Cops'']]

A tag team of fighters consisting of a clockwork robotic cop and his similarly mechanized canine companion. Their unique trait is that they fight as a team, with Barq being an AI-controlled assist. Barq attacks on his own and can take hits for Byte, and Byte can use Barq as a springboard to parry punches and get a high jump.
----
* AssistCharacter: Barq isn't directly controlled by the player, but he's useful in keeping up the pressure on the opponent.
* BigFriendlyDog: Barq might be all head but he still is rather large and gets along well with Byte.
* BlueIsHeroic: They work for the police and wear a shiny, official-looking blue.
* CanineCompanion: Barq helps out Byte by acting as a footstool/springboard and getting in extra attacks.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Metallic blue and gold
* CombiningMecha: When they hit their LimitBreak, they combine into one robot with Barq replacing Byte's head. They actually abused this feature to get into the ARMS Grand Prix in the first place by signing up while combined.
* ClockworkCreature: Were introduced as the "Clockwork Cops" and have visible copper coils and {{Windup Key}}s.
* CoolShades: Barq wears a pair of sunglasses.
* DoubleMeaning: One of their win quotes has Byte call the team the "''long arms'' of the law". The Long Arm of the Law is also what they are referred to as in the German and Dutch versions of the game instead of the Clockwork Cops.
* EquippableAlly: Barq can double as Byte's head.
* FusionDance: Barq has the ability to become Byte's head in order to perform an attack together.
* HandWave: Biff comments that the sea breeze is what keeps the duo's keys wound up and their gears constantly moving.
* HeroesLoveDogs: Byte is a cop who seems to appreciate his robot dog's work.
* HeroicDog: Barq is a police dog so it's only natural.
* HomeStage: Buster Beach is their home arena.
* HomingProjectile: Like Mechanica's Homie, Byte's primary Seekie ARMS take the form of missiles with no manual control but high homing properties.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aujjfolZJEw A tropical conga beat with steel drums for the beach police.]]
* LoopholeAbuse: Despite being a pair (and thus, normally illegal), they were allowed into the ARMS Grand Prix by signing up while [[CombiningMecha combined]]. Even after the fact that they were two robots was public knowledge, their popularity even with Max Brass kept them from getting disqualified.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: The other fighters fight solo. Byte fights with Barq as an AssistCharacter.
* MachineMonotone: Byte speaks this way. Averted with Barq, who sounds like an organic dog.
* NonElemental: His Bubbs have no element, but can enlarge when charged for more damage.
* NoodleIncident: Kid Cobra has had a run-in with Byte and Barq, according to Biff. No explanation about what happened, whether it was a chance encounter or if Kid Cobra was breaking rules.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Even though Byte and Barq are law-enforcement robots, they technically cheated to get into the ARMS Grand Prix.
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: Byte's grab attack damages opponents when they're knocked to the ground, since he launches them after grabbing them instead of hitting them.
* NoWaterproofingInTheFuture: Their bio mentions one of their hobbies is avoiding salt water, and their weakest stat is "water resistance". You'd think they wouldn't have been assigned to ''beach'' patrol. Coyle's notes on the duo have her suggest she could give them waterproof bodies but she probably won't. [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/875911639324794882 This tweet shares with us the fact they will use umbrellas when it's raining.]]
* PlayingWithFire: Byte's secondary Cracker ARMS have the Fire element. Additionally, Barq is equipped with one of Spring Man's Toasters in his mouth.
* PolicemanDog: Barq is a robot dog serving as a partner to a robot policeman.
* PowerFist: Similar to Ninjara's Buffs, his tertiary Bubb ARMS are basic NonElemental gloves. Compared to the Buffs, the Bubbs have less homing capability when thrown undirected, but better manual control.
* PunnyName: This works two ways.
** One being the classic phrase of "Their bark is worse than their bite."
** The other doubles as a MeaningfulName for Byte due to his robotic nature.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: Byte, though less in terms of appearance and more in the way he moves and acts.
* RobotAthlete: Both of them are robot boxers.
* RobotBuddy: Barq is this to Byte even if they are both robots. Basically a robot buddy ''with'' a robot buddy.
* RobotDog: Barq is a robotic police dog head.
* ShockAndAwe: Byte's primary Seekie ARMS carry the Electric element. Uniquely, it seems to have the [[StuffBlowingUp Explosion]] element secondarily, as unlike other Electric ARMS, the Seekies explode on contact.
* TokenNonHuman: Shares this role with Helix due to the fact they are robotic police.
* UndyingLoyalty: Implied. If Byte is being controlled by Hedlok, Barq won't be there to help the skeletal menace.
* VisualPun: Byte has a ''literal'' handlebar mustache.
* VideoGameCrueltyPotential: As [[{{WebVideo/PeanutButterGamer}} PBG]] puts it, "in order to win you have to punch the dog in the face and that makes me really sad".
* WaddlingHead: Or Wheeling Head in this case, since Barq is just a robotic dog head on a single rolling wheel.
* WindupKey: The duo has these due to being cops based on clockwork-styled robotics. Byte's are more noticeable as they appear on his shoulders while Barq has a single one on his back that might as well be his equivalent of a tail.
* XtremeKoolLetterz:
** Byte's name is {{Justified|Trope}} since a byte is a real unit of digital information, something a robot like Byte would use frequently.
** Barq's name is just "Bark" with a "q."
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Kid Cobra]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kidcobra.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Speed Demon'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RyotaTakeuchi

A professional snakeboarder who fights with snake ARMS and his motivation is to increase views for his livestreams. His unique trait is both his ground and air dash go faster and further while his arms are charged. Also when charged, his forward dash allows him to duck under punches.
----
* AmbiguouslyHuman: He's odd-eyed, his face is hidden under a helmet/mask, he was born with the ARMS ability, and the shape of his body is a bit too snakelike even for someone who calls himself "Cobra". In the end it is likely to just be part of his persona as a famous snakeboarder.
* AnIcePerson: His Coolerang ARMS, if the name didn't give it away.
* AnimalMotifs: If his name and hobby did not tip you off it is obviously snakes, particularly cobras. When viewed from behind the cobra shape can be seen from his helmet which extends down to the shirt graphic. Not to mention despite their name being inspired by salamanders, the set of ARMS he has mainly been viewed to have on combined with his movements do look rather snakey (Complete with scales when viewed up close similar to when Min Min's dragon is active).
* BattleBoomerang: His tertiary Coolerang ARMS.
* BlowYouAway: His signature Slamamander Arms produce wind, and will strike oppoents multiple times during a [[LimitBreak Rush attack]].
* {{Calvinball}}: The Snakeboard sport he does.
* ChickMagnet: He's got a lot of female fans, as seen in his ending.
* ColorCodedCharacters: A rather poisonous purple with a touch of bright green.
* CoolHelmet: He wears a white helmet-mask combination that's shaped like a cobra.
* DifficultButAwesome: For beginners, his abilities are very hard to get used to, as his normal dash is very unreliable for dodging like other dashes, and his FlashStep ability trades away his damage potential to make his normal dash usable. However, by using his very long and fast side jumps alongside knowing when to charge and expend power for his FlashStep, he is very effective at evading the other fighters' attacks while whittling them down in the process.
* TheFaceless: His face is hidden under a [[CoolMask mask-like]] [[CoolHelmet helmet]] that doubles as his [[{{Pun}} namesnake]].
* FlashStep: Kid Cobra's unique ability is to sacrifice his charged punches to dash once to five times whether on the ground or in the air, effectively giving him the fastest dash in the game. Without it, he otherwise has the slowest dash in the game.
* FragileSpeedster: Because of his ability to dash up to five times, he's effectively the fastest character in the cast. However, this ability requires him to sacrifice the raw power and elemental effects that would come with his charged punches.
* FashionDissonance: His outfit kind of gives the desire to shout "The 1990s called, they want their clothes back."
* GoodColorsEvilColors: A {{Kayfabe}} variant. Kid Cobra, since he's on a {{Heel}} spectrum, wears purple and green in contrast to the characters on the {{Face}} spectrum such as Spring Man and Byte & Barq.
* HomeStage: Snake Park is his home arena.
* InstantWebHit: What he must expect from his fights due to the fact he's livestreaming them.
* LeanAndMean: The build of his body is a bit on the skinny side making him almost look like a snake with legs.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-odE_gFHEk A fast-paced rock mix of the main ARMS theme]] which perfectly catches the feeling of extreme sports.
* NoodleIncident: Kid Cobra has had a run-in with Byte & Barq, according to Biff. No explanation about what happened, whether it was a chance encounter or if Kid Cobra was breaking rules.
* PlayingWithFire: The Hydra ARMS are fire-attributed.
* RealMenWearPink: One of his alternative color palettes has him wearing a pink helmet and gives some parts of his pants a pink color.
** He also dons salmon pink chestplate and pants for another one of his alternative colors, which makes a reference to that of an albino cobra snake.
* SpreadShot: His secondary Hydra ARMS, like Spring Man's Tribolts, are a multi-shot weapon, but fire vertically instead of horizontally.
* TotallyRadical: He's a snaker (skater) dude.
* [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Why Did It Have To Be Mongoose?]]: It is implied on [[RobotAthlete Springtron's]] Grand Prix battle against Kid Cobra that the latter is afraid of [[SnakeVersusMongoose mongooses]], which fits the [[AnimalMotifs King Cobra motif]] very well.

[[caption-width-right:350:''The "Man" of Mystery'']]

A green blob creature with ARMS designed after DNA double helices who was accidentally created by scientists researching the ARMS phenomena. His unique trait is his unusual body, which allows him to move in weird ways for added defense and to confuse the opponent.
----
* AbusiveParents: Dr. Coyle was the head of the scientists who created Helix and according to her journal when Biff read it, sees him as kind of a disappointment. Biff in return tells the blob not to worry about it and instead see making your parents ashamed of you as a rite of passage.
* AnIcePerson: His secondary ARMS are the self-explanatory Ice Dragons.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Can possibly be interpreted this way due to only being two years old- combined with juvenile-sounding voices. Then again, he is a scientific creation so it probably does not matter.
* BlobMonster: He's made of a green substance that can stretch and collapse into liquid.
* ColorCodedCharacters: A slightly translucent deep green.
* ConfusionFu: His ability to contort his body and move in strange ways is his main mechanic in order to frustrate his opponents.
* CoveredInGunge: His signature Blorbs splatter his opponents with blue slime on contact, [[InterfaceScrew obstructing their vision]].
* DifficultButAwesome: His below mentioned mechanical quirks gives playing him a bit of a learning curve, reducing his potential tier ranking, but still leave him formidable
* DubNameChange: In Japan, he's known as "DNA Man".
* EyeScream: Averted with his blinding Blorb ARMS. Biff says they're pretty sure the goo from them is non-toxic.
* FightingClown: Silly and unorthodox movements and sounds, but no less effective for it.
* HomeStage: DNA Lab is his home arena.
* InterfaceScrew: His default ARMS, Blorb, are the first ones with the Blind element. If a charged Blorb hits an opponent, their view is blocked by blue goo, similar to a Blooper in ''VideoGame/MarioKart''.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quPkXk51f3I A bizarre techno remix of the main ARMS theme]], fitting the man(?) made for ARMS fighting.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: His tertiary Guardian ARMS, which expand out into electrical shields to deflect attacks.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Helix's scientific nature allows him to stretch and move to inhuman lengths and shapes. His dash and jump respectively double as a squash and stretch to duck under or flex above attacks. His ARMS weapons have slightly unusual timing; the Guardian is a shield that can block a few hits as it drifts towards the opponent that needs to be pumped a second time to speed up after closing the gap. His Ice Dragon has the typical delay between punch and firing and the Blorb bounces on the way towards the opponent.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: The most unnatural looking and sounding character in the entire cast, but at the same time he's amusing and childish.
* OneWayVisor: He wears one that doubles as his "eyes".
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Similar to Min Min, one of Helix's main ARMS choices are dragon heads. A major difference is that his dragons specialize in blasting ice breath.
* PaletteSwap: The enemies in [[MultiMookMelee "1-On-100" mode]] seem to be black, possibly non-sentient versions of Helix, probably created by the same scientists who made him.
* PeopleJars: One piece of his official artwork shows him breaking out of one, and the stage his trailer introduces him in is full of them.
* PluckyComicRelief: His bizarre design, and equally bizarre movements, make him serve this role on the roster.
* PrecociousCrush: Their pre-fight line indicates the two year old Helix has a crush on Twintelle.
* ReadingsAreOffTheScale: His bio on the official website has a joke "Grossness" stat that not only extends off the chart, but also off the edge of the screen (It even wiggles).
* RealMenWearPink: Helix gets an entirely pink gooey body for one of his alternative color palettes!
* RubberMan: According to his bio, Helix can stretch anywhere from between thirty to two hundred and fifty centimeters (Approximately 0'10"-8'2").
* ShockAndAwe: His Guardians have the Electric attribute, and shock any opponent that they touch.
* TheUnfavorite: Coyle's first work, but despite that connection, her journal dismissing him as flawed seems to indicate there's no love lost for poor Helix.
* TechnicolorScience: He is a creation by ARMS Laboratories and his palette is a slimy green with pink and blue highlights.
* TokenNonHuman: Shares this role with Barq and Byte, being one of the only current fighters that do not consist of flesh and blood (or implied formerly, in the case of Master Mummy). He is instead a substance that is reminiscent to Film/{{Flubber}}.
* WellDoneSonGuy: According to his bio Helix's reason for fighting in the ARMS tournament is to prove the merit of the ARMS Laboratory's work. Dr. Coyle, who was the head of the scientists who created him to begin with is also in the competition.

A traveling fighting clown with gummy candy ARMS introduced in the third update of the game. Lola Pop has traveled the world doing street performances and hopes to one day open a circus of her own. Her unique trait is the ability to quickly inflate her whole body; which allows her to move while blocking, bounce on the ground and air-block.
----
* {{Acrofatic}}: In her [[InflatingBodyGag inflated blocking form,]] she's agile enough to not only move, but bounce and flip through the air unpredictably.
* AlienHair: As with other female characters with the ARMS power. Her hair is made of hard candy and the bun on her head has the shape of a lollipop.
* ArtAttacker: One of Lola's default ARMS, the blinding Biffler, [[InterfaceScrew covers the screen]] with stamps of Biff's face to temporarily hide her opponent's view.
* AttackReflector: The Clapback ARMS, part of Lola's default selection, reflect enemy punches back at them when charged, making them a great defensive option.
* BadassAdorable: No doubt the cutest clown you'd ever meet. Just don't underestimate her. One wrong move in a match and this cutie will send you flying.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Some of her mannerisms and movement patterns are pretty wacky.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Orange and teal.
* ConfusionFu: One of the key aspects to Lola's fighting style is her unpredictability; having plenty of unusual movement patterns and a selection of ARMS that have all sorts of wacky effects to keep opponents off balance and guessing.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After many years as a Street Performer and dreaming of starting her own circus, she uses the money and press from winning the Grand Prix to open up the circus of her dreams.
* {{Expy}}: Her clownish demeanor (complete with red nose), extendable ARMS and ability to [[InflatingBodyGag inflate herself just like a balloon]] makes her highly reminiscent of [[VideoGame/DonkeyKong64 Lanky Kong]].
* FashionableAsymmetry: Subtly so. Half of her baggy pants are striped and the other half polka dotted. The pattern changes based on her {{Palette Swap}}s, but they're always asymmetrical.
* FightingClown: Literally. If the red nose, puffy pants, and fact you can play as her in a fighting game did not tip you off she is definitely one of these. Furthermore, she isn't meant to be a JokeCharacter.
* GenkiGirl: Befitting for a lady who happens to be a colourful NonIronicClown, she has a very sweet, energetic personality, and clearly enjoys putting on a show as she battles.
* HomeStage: Via Dolce is her home arena.
* InflatingBodyGag: Her way of blocking and parrying attacks is by inflating her whole body.
* InterfaceScrew: Her Biffler ARMS resembles Kid Cobra's Hydra, but with blue stamps depicting Biff's face on them in place of rockets. When the opponent is hit by one of the stamps when charged, their screen is stamped, obstructing their view.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEGP52mpscA Her home stage, Via Dolce]], has an upbeat song featuring traditional European renaissance instruments such as violin, guitar, and accordion with a strong rhythm section.
* NonElemental: Her Clapback shield ARMS have no attribute.
* NonIronicClown: For the most part, she looks and behaves the way one can expect of a silly clown.
* TheParalyzer: Her primary Funchuck ARMS have the Stun element.
* PunnyName: If "Lola Pop" isn't just a stage name, then it's rather fitting that a silly lady with candy ARMS would have a name that sounds like "lollipop".
* SweetTooth: As expected for someone with hard candy and lollipops for her hair and colourful gummy candies for her ARMS, one of her hobbies is eating candy. As seen in her gallery pictures, Lola is also very skilled at ''making'' patisserie sweets.
* TemporaryBulkChange: Her main ability is puffing up her whole body to block attacks, even in mid-air.
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: Her fun, unpredictable and wacky fighting style perfectly fit her signature nunchuck weapons. They're even called Funchucks.
* WomanOfAThousandVoices: As seen in several of Lola's victory poses, she's surprisingly good at doing convincing animal impressions.

[[folder:Misango]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/misango.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Spirited Fighter'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Toru Sakurai

A proud, spiritual warrior with woven bracelet ARMS introduced in the fourth update. Misango is devoted to defending his homeland and people, the Misangans. He enters the ARMS tournament in order to prove that the Misangan fighting technique is superior above all others. His unique trait is that he fights with a "mysterious entity" mask that can imbue him with randomly generated buffs as well as shield him during a charge.
----
* AlienHair: His hair pretty much looks like stitchwork.
* AnimalMotifs:
** Two of his default ARMS have this theme to them. The Scorpio is, of course, ScaryScorpions while Skully is a vulture-like bird skull.
** The "mysterious entity" takes on a different animal motif for every form it takes as a mask. The blue [[FragileSpeedster speed]] form is a bird, the orange [[MightyGlacier strength and toughness]] form is a bull, and the yellow Rush Attack invincibility form is a lion.
* BadWithTheBone: His tertiary Skully ARMS effectively allows you to stab the opponent with a stripped-down, envenomed bird skull.
* BraidsOfAction: Has braided hair and is an ARMS Fighter.
* CoveredInGunge: His secondary Glushers are like Helix's Blorbs in that they're balls of liquid that spatter the target with slime. And given its Poison attribute, unlike what Biff says about the blue Blorbs, this purple slime ''is'' toxic.
* DeployableCover: If Misango blocks for a period of time, his spirit partner will grow into a column of light that can block enemy punches. Also, Misango can walk into the pillar to equip himself with it.
* EquippableAlly: A currently unnamed creature floats beside him that can become either a blocking pillar or a second MaskOfPower.
* HomeStage: Temple Grounds is his home arena.
* ImprobableHairstyle: While braided hair can be rather fancy it is likely impossible to get it to the same level of technique that resembles the texture and design in his ARMS.
* JungleJapes: The theme of his stage.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hP0FVIacB4 A percussion-heavy track with flutes, tribal chanting and a touch of brass.]]
* MaskOfPower: Misango fights with a mask by his side. When charging his ARMS, the mask floats down and transforms him into one of three different phases.
* {{Mayincatec}}: His stage (which looks like an ancient temple), and manner of dress invoke this.
* MeaningfulName: Misango is a pun on the word "misanga," a Japanese term for "friendship bracelet". Keeping with the name, his ARMS are in the shape of woven bracelets.
* NoNameGiven: His guardian spirit.
* PoisonousPerson: All of Misango's three starter ARMS have the Poison attribute. Thus, he is the only fighter that exclusively relies on only one element.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: He's in the tournament trying to prove the Misangans have the best fighting technique in the world.
* ScaryScorpions: Subverted. His primary Scorpio weapons scuttle across the ground and can poison targets when they hit, but they're described as "surprisingly cute".
* StanceSystem: His attributes switch depending on the color of his spirit companion when equipped. [[FragileSpeedster Blue makes him faster, but do less damage]], [[MightyGlacier Orange makes him slower but stronger as well]] and makes him ImmuneToFlinching. Yellow makes him invincible during his [[LimitBreak Rush Attack]].

[[folder:Max Brass]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/max_brass.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Commish'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Dominic Allen

The head of the ARMS league and Champion of the Grand Prix. Fitting his status, his ARMS look like belts. Originally the FinalBoss of Grand Prix mode, he is the first post-release fighter introduced to the game, made playable in the first update. His unique trait is that charging his ARMS or completing a throw will buff his body mass to give him armor from weak attacks. Like Spring Man, he can charge to repel punches and his ARMS stay permanently charged at critical health and he will also stay buffed.
----
* BeatTheCurseOutOfHim: Or in this case, OFF of him. Once Hedlok takes over after you beat him once, the only way to free him is by beating him twice.
* BigGood: He's not just the Champion, he's actually the head of the ARMS league, and the guy who made the tournament in the first place!
** He also appears to allow non-ARMS users to enter the ARMS league such as Mechanica, as well as robots and experimental fighters. As long as they can provide a fair and thrilling match he doesn't seem to care who enters.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Light metallic teal with brown/gold and red accents.
* CoolHelmet: Shiny gold with a mohawk/pompador on top.
* CoolOldGuy: He's the only middle-aged fighter in the game at 52 years old, but the fans love him for his hamminess and influence in the ARMS world, and he encourages anyone to show him their all.
* DifficultButAwesome: Max Brass has a great set of abilities and useful starting ARMS, but unlike all other fighters, his punches have zero guidance behind them, meaning if curved the wrong way, your punch will miss the enemy by a mile. Using Max Brass effectively requires you to have complete control over where you're sending your punches so you don't constantly whiff, but having such control gives you a juggernaut with a Fire-Explosive combo of elements and the ability to laugh at weaker hits. In other words, [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration to effectively use the champ, you'll need to play like a champ]].
* DominoMask: Built into his helmet, no less.
* {{Eagleland}}: A minor example is in his introduction trailer as he is presented through the use of red, white, and blue rings.
* FinalBoss: Of the Grand Prix mode [[spoiler:on level 3 and lower difficulty.]]
* GracefulLoser: He's seen clapping for Spring Man in the latter's ending image, smiling at the new Champion.
* HavingABlast: His signature Nade and Kablammer ARMS explode upon impact. The Nade even resembles a grenade.
* HellBentForLeather: His belt ARMS look like they're made out of leather.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Max Brass's two signature Explosion-type ARMS will blow up if an enemy tags them while charged, potentially hurting himself if they're close enough, and his critical permacharge only makes him a bigger target. Fortunately, his buffed state means he takes half damage from it as well as not flinching.
* HomeStage: Sky Arena is his home arena.
* HotPaintJob: Has a flame motif on his boots and outfit.
* IrislessEyeMaskOfMystery: His mask makes his eyes look like this rather than show off the swirly ExoticEyeDesigns other fighters with ARMS have.
* LargeAndInCharge: At 6'4" he's the the second tallest fighter at a consistent height (Master Mummy is first at 7'6"), and he's both the reigning Champ and the head of the sport outright.
* LargeHam: This guy's every bit as boisterous as he is big. He's also the only character (besides Hedlok) that laughs as he's being introduced by the announcer in Grand Prix.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHWn5D3LuUs The theme for his stage, the Sky Arena]], is a dramatic orchestra rock song with chanting in the background; it's a climactic song fitting for the head of the ARMS League.
* MaskedLuchador: Given the belt, flame motifs on his clothes, mask, and {{Mayincatec}} design of his stage (from what we can see), he may be based off this.
* MightyGlacier: The big guy has all of Spring Man's abilities and then adds in more of his own, but pays for it with noticable slower walkspeed and a much larger hitbox, especially when he's all hulked out.
* MirrorBoss: If you play as Max Brass in Grand Prix, the final boss is... another Max Brass, with a different color scheme. Biff lampshades this, as shown under TomatoSurprise.
* MovesetClone: Downplayed, as he has several of his own distinctions, but he shares some abilities with Spring Man, namely the "parry" shockwave from an incomplete charge, a permanent charge at critical health, and a similar default weapon to Spring Man's Toaster in the Roaster.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: When Hedlok steals his body for the TrueFinalBoss.
* NighInvulnerability: When he reaches critical health, he buffs up and becomes an absolute damage sponge, not just taking ''less'' damage, but [[NoSell no-selling]] every attack save for grabs you throw at him. That said, he loses the bulk temporarily if he takes a hit from ARMS with Electric or Ice attributes, but it comes back after the effect wears off, so you'd best make it count if you land one.
* OlderThanTheyLook: The guy's actually 52 years old, but between his appearance, voice, skill, and enthusiasm, you'd be forgiven for thinking he was in his 30s or even late 20s.
* PecFlex: Makes this in one of his victory poses, alongside a few other poses.
* PickyEater: If you have Springtron pit against Max Brass in Grand Prix mode (Which is the finale), according to Biff, the latter is a picky eater. Apparently his weakness is [[DoesNotLikeSpam bell peppers]].
* PlayingWithFire: His signature Roaster arms are similar to Spring Man's Toaster arms, only with higher damage output at the cost of the guidance system, and also [[TechnicolorFire purple fire]].
* PowerFist: His primary Roaster ARMS are a boxing-glove like weapon. The Nades also count, with the knuckles resembling the pineapple-like shell of a grenade.
* PromotedToPlayable: He's the FinalBoss of Grand Prix, and the first post-release character.
* RedBaron: His title is "The Commish", as in [[LargeAndInCharge the Commissioner of the entire ARMS League]].
* SmugSuper: For as nice of a guy as he is, he does have a big ego that is [[JustifiedTrope entirely justified]] by his [[WorldsStrongestMan power and skill.]]
-->''"Who's the champ? Me!"''
-->''"I'm the best!!"''
* SpiritedCompetitor: He's not some corrupt champion trying to cling to his belt, he just wants to set up a great tourney and put his title up there for the winning.
* SuperheroesWearTights: He's wearing a spandex suit that looks like either a superhero or a luchador outfit.
* TechnicolorFire: The fires of his Roaster gloves are purple.
* TemporaryBulkChange: He can increase the size of his muscles for a brief period of time to prevent flinching.
* TomatoSurprise: Subverted. During his final Grand Prix battle, he faces another Max Brass, and Biff believes that the Max Brass you're playing as is an imposter. However, defeat the other Max Brass (and Hedlok if your difficulty is high enough), and Biff will remark during the victory ceremony that he "always knew you were the real deal", implying the one you fought (and saved) was the real imposter.
* TooManyBelts: Not in his design, but his Arms are belts and his arena is themed around the championship belt.
** This is taken to another level in his ending visual as it involves him admiring all the belts he's won in the past framed up on a wall as his newest part to the collection lays on a desk likely to soon get the same treatment.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: [[spoiler:With Dr. Coyle, as her ending screen is a picture of them seemingly as friends. It's been torn in two, yet taped back together.]]
* WorldsStrongestMan: You don't become the absolute, uncontested peak in the world where twenty percent of the population consists of extendo-arm superhumans ''without'' being this.

[[folder:Springtron]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/springtron.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Mean Machine'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Peter Von Gomm

A strange robotic fighter resembling Spring Man. He shows up to challenge you in Grand Prix if you're doing TOO well. Originally an NPC OptionalBoss, he became playable with the fourth update. His unique trait is that charging his ARMS will release a energy pulse that disables any ARMS that comes in contact with it. Like Spring Man, he can also parry punches after charging but unlike Spring Man, he doesn't stay charged at low health.
----
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Similar to fellow ARMS Laboratory creation, the two-year-old blob creature known as Helix, this robot is the youngest fighter in the league at zero. It might not truly matter though as he is a creation of metal made in the likeness of another battler.
* ChestInsignia: Doesn't use Spring Man's symbol, instead having one that resembles a "T".
* DoWellButNotPerfect: He shows up to challenge you if you get to Max Brass without losing a single round on Difficulties 4 or higher, so those that wish to avoid him must follow this trope.
* {{EMP}}: Every so often, or, when playable, once his ARMS are fully charged, he sends out a pulse which disables your ARMS. The only way to avoid it is to get out of its range.
* EvilKnockoff: Of Spring Man. [[AmbiguouslyEvil It's not known if he's actually evil]], but he is very aggressive and interrupts your Grand Prix challenges.
* EvilCounterpart: To Helix, although {{downplayed|trope}} in that Springtron hasn't proven itself to be anything more than a {{delinquent|s}}.
* FromBadToWorse: There's a very good chance you'll encounter a '''double''' Springtron in Co-Op mode if you do well enough.
* HomeStage: Sparring Ring is his home arena.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's the intimidating mascot of an ''incredibly'' dubious corporation; despite this, his Grand Prix ending [[spoiler: shows him having a touching moment with a young fan.]]
* MachineMonotone: All his lines are delivered in an intimidating monotone with a robotic flange.
* MovesetClone: Of Spring Man, down to having the same starting ARMS and abilities. He even gains the ARMS Spring Man gains from the ARM getter minigame.
* NameTron: Spring Man with "Tron" instead of man.
* OptionalBoss: Added in the 3.2 update to challenge the player right before Max Brass if they've had a perfect run so far.
* RobotAthlete: He's a robotic duplicate of a boxer.
* RobotMe: He's a robotic duplicate of Spring Man created to advertise ARMS labs and discover the other fighters' weaknesses.
** Apparently the head of the scientists who created him sees him as superior to the fighter he was based on:
-->'''Dr. Coyle:''' "Yes... better than the original."
* SmugSuper: His hobby is "flawless victories".
* SNKBoss: As to be expected of a boss in a fighting game. He's slow and weak under normal circumstances but his signature ability is a shockwave that, in order, disables your arms, charges his arms, and makes him really fast. Good Luck.
* TokenNonHuman: Shares this quality with Helix, Byte, and Barq. He's also something of a combination of the three as he's a robot and a creation of ARMS Laboratories.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dr. Coyle]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drcoyle.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Rad Scientist'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DonnaBurke

A brilliant scientist who's the head of ARMS Laboratories. She's obsessed with ARMS research and Springtron, Hedlok, and Helix are the results of her experiments. She has even experimented on herself, which gave her a set of ARMS of her own in the form of Tesla coils. Dr. Coyle was hinted at in the game previously and made her debut for the fifth update of the game. Her unique traits are that she can turn invisible during a block, levitate and air-guard, and gain a third ARM when charging her punches.
----
* AmbitionIsEvil: Her aim is to be the peak, both the Head of ARMS Labs ''and'' the Champion of the ARMS League, putting her at the fore of both sides of the old ministry -- and she doesn't care what she has to do to get herself there.
* AnIcePerson: Her tertiary Brrchucks have the ice element.
* AwesomeAussie: Though subtle at times, she does have a mild Australian accent and she is pretty smart. What hinders her however is her {{obvious|ly Evil}} villainy. To be fair however [[WordOfGod Mr. Yabuki]] stated everyone's a protagonist, making her technically a VillainProtagonist.
* CombatStilettos: Wears high-heeled boots with spikes on the soles near the toes. Unlike Ribbon Girl and Twintelle, their lack of any impracticality is justified because Coyle never actually touches the ground.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: In the Grand Prix boss fight, Coyle gets a fourth ARM when charging up, in addition to the third. She also does 200 grab damage as opposed to her 150 baseline.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Has green hair and eyes.
* DeadpanSnarker: [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zW_tXcFJpLA Her win quotes against some of the fighters]] can come off as rather sarcastic and sometimes savage, yet cheesy. The most notable examples include:
** Spring Man: Spring's over!
** Ribbon Girl: Now that's a [stressing the I to sound musical] hiiiiiiit!
** Ninjara: Sayonara, Ninjara!
** Master Mummy: Go back to sleep.
** Min Min: Ramen ARMS, really?
** Twintelle: Time for a haircut!
** Byte and Barq: All bark, no bite.
** Lola Pop: Clowns don't scare me!
** Helix: Aww, that's my baby.
** Springtron: Yeah, better than the original.
** Max Brass: Who's number one now?!
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Coyle's not a natural ARMS wielder, having been well into adulthood without ever gaining what is defined as a puberty-acquired power -- however, through sheer determined study and continuous self-experimentation, she ''gave'' herself ARMS powerful enough to send '''[[WorldsStrongestMan Max Brass]]''' skyward and out of his own arena. [[spoiler:For good measure, when Hedlok fails to secure victory even with her power, she ''demolishes'' it with virtually no effort.]]
* EvilGenius: Like Mechanica, one of her stats is a high IQ.
* EvilIsHammy: Not that it matters much, since she's living in a WorldOfHam.
* {{Foil}}: To Mechanica, as instead of making an external suit, she experimented on herself, and instead of being a fan of Ribbon Girl and Max Brass, Coyle is a fan only to herself.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: A "Doctor C." was referred to on the ARMS Twitter every so often. She was also foreshadowed in Springtron's ending, wherein [[EarlyBirdCameo her hand was seen holding his victory photo]].
* GeniusBruiser: Coyle's as smart as they come and, by her own designs, as strong as they get.
* TheGlassesGottaGo: Her ending visual shows her wearing a pair of circular-framed glasses.
* GodzillaThreshold: [[spoiler:After being bested in the Grand Prix, she ''calls down Hedlok'' to take her body for a chance at the victory.]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: The creator of Hedlok and the first openly villainous fighter, she outright usurps Max Brass's position as the final boss in Grand Prix mode at Level 6 or 7. [[spoiler:Hedlok will still jack her body for the final fight (though it's heavily implied that not only does she deliberately summon him, she's at least partially in control), but if he loses, Dr. Coyle will outright destroy him, cementing her as the bigger threat.]]
* GreenAndMean: One of her main colors is green and she is ObviouslyEvil complete with skulls as her icon.
* GreenEyedMonster: She tries to pass it off as mere [[ForScience scientific interest]] when discussing Twintelle but isn't fooling anyone. She drops the pretense when talking to Misango, whose even more versatile than she is.
* HavingABlast: Her primary Lokjaw weapons are Explosion attribute - in that they shoot exploding fireballs at her opponent. And since they are counted as heavy weapons, good luck blocking them with anything lighter than a Megaton.
* HomeFieldAdvantage: Thanks to her passive hovering, she is immune to the conveyor belt in [NAME REDACTED], making it easier for her to handle the stage's layout.
* HomeStage: [NAME REDACTED] is her home arena.
* ILied: The ARMS Lab research notes of Hedlok's development states that, after it escaped, they went to Dr. Coyle for aid in subjugating it, but she had "lost interest". [[spoiler:This was all a ruse, as she had [[TrueFinalBoss much bigger aspirations]] for the experiment gone rogue.]]
* ItIsDehumanizing: Coyle seems unable to view her fighting peers are people, but as subjects to subjugate for the sake of her growing power, or to experiment on at her leisure. As Biff reveals she's been behind the Party Crashes among the other disrupting events, the FreudianSlip calling the Party Crash an "experiment" and the fighters her "test subjects" before awkward corrections are solidly her own.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Turns out, every pursuit she's made under the ARMS Research Labs was in the goal to make herself the most powerful ARMS wielder of all.
* InvisibilityWithDrawbacks: She can turn invisible to her opponent when blocking, as well as standing up after getting knocked down. However, she cannot turn invisible if she's blinded or poisoned if she were to be knocked down. She will also be unable to turn invisible if she is frozen, blinded, or poisoned if she is blocking. However she will be instantly turned invisible after she is unfrozen and if the poison or blindness goes away when blocking for longer periods of time. But by blocking if she is frozen, she is open for grabs.
* JetPack: Her weapon acts as one, making it so she constantly floats during the battle. Granted, it seems to use air, gravity or something else less visible than ''jets''.
* KubrickStare: It seems to be habit to glare at her opponent from beneath her eyebrows.
* LargeHam: Some of her lines and actions can come off as overly dramatic.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6Q3G1oNz28 Ominous electronic rock]] with orchestral elements and a OneWomanWail added, which sounds like a twisted version of Max Brass' theme. It also notably includes the melody and other elements of Hedlok's theme, cementing that he is her creation.
* MadScientist: Her main motif.
* MeaningfulName: The woman with Tesla coils for ARMS is named "Coyle."
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter
** The device on her back makes it so that she doesn't touch the ground. As such, she doesn't jump. Instead, pressing the jump button will make her float up to the normal jump height and just... stay there. As long as you're holding the jump button. She can still dash, block, punch, and everything. She's just up there now. In addition, the fact that she's not touching the ground makes it so that she is unaffected by things like moving ground or springs, for better or for worse.
** Oh, and on top of that, she drifts a bit in the direction she was moving in when you stop telling her to move. Since, you know, not touching the ground makes friction a bit harder to come by.
** Furthermore, while most fighters with a special ability (Min Min's Dragon arm, for example) lose it on being knocked down, Dr. Coyle activates her invisibility when knocked down. This way, she can mask what she decides to do upon rising.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: She certainly seems smart enough to have earned a [=Ph.D=], having found a way to artificially replicate the ARMS condition. It's just that what she does with her advanced knowledge is morally questionable.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She can gain a third ARM on her shoulders when charging left or right, and her "[[SNKBoss boss]]" version can gain ''two''. [[spoiler:Then Hedlok steals her body for the TrueFinalBoss if playing on Level 6 or 7.]]
* NobleDemon: Zigzagged. Coyle will abuse and outright skirt the League regulations ''liberally'' to usurp Max as the champion... However, she still respects that she actually has to ''win'' within the conditions of the Grand Prix to do this. Even as she flagrantly cheats, she intends to win by the letter of the law, if not the spirit.
* NoSocialSkills: Where brain intelligence is her highest point emotional intelligence is noted to be her lowest.
* NotEvilJustMisunderstood: Her bio states her standards are not exactly nefarious, she simply just uses whatever means she can in order to become the greatest ARMS fighter. Unfortunately, while her standards aren't evil by ''intent'', her ''methods'' absolve her of nothing.
* OlderThanTheyLook: At first glance would you believe she's forty-eight?
* OneWorldOrder: The ARMS Ministry, which was a leading global power, divided into two factions upon the sport being formed: the ARMS League, which ordains combat, and ARMS Labs, which handle research and development. And Dr. Coyle, the head of ARMS Labs, is looking to consolidate both those powers for herself in becoming the champion.
* ParasolOfPain: Her electrically-charged Parabola weapons, when they hit, will certainly leave a sting.
* PoweredArmor: She fights using her wearable weapons that enable her, among other things, [[{{Flight}} to fly]].
* PowerFloats: Her feet pretty much never touch the ground. Advantages include immunity to things like trampolines and conveyor belts. Disadvantages include the inability to use said gimmicks for your own benefit, and not being able to dodge or charge punches via jumping.
* PunnyName: Her name is Coyle which sounds quite similar to "coil". Her ending shows signs of her personality originally making it seem her last name is actually a {{Portmanteau}} on the word "coy" and "coil".
* PurpleIsPowerful: Has a black and dark purple mask and wears matching lipstick.
* PromotedToPlayable: After being mentioned in vagueries in game and on official social media channels she finally reveals herself as a DLC character.
* PsychoticSmirk: When she's not grinning like a madwoman, she tends to smirk.
* SecondaryColorNemesis: Her main motif is green, and she also has a bit of purple on her mask.
* ShockAndAwe: Her secondary Parabola weapons have the Electric element.
* SlasherSmile: It's practically her catchphrase to flash a demented grin.
* SNKBoss: Replacing Max Brass as the final opponent on Difficulty 6/7, her defensive capabilities as well as her ARMS loadout having more debilitating elemental variety (her default arms have Explosive, Electric, and Freeze effects) and the homing capability that Max Brass lacks make her even more of a challenge. [[spoiler: [[FromBadToWorse Then she combines with Hedlok]].]]
* SoreLoser: [[spoiler:Throws a tantrum when she loses, destroying Hedlok (with a loud [[YouHaveFailedMe "USELESS!"]], no less), ranting "Gah... I could've ''won!''", and teleporting out in a huff.]]
* SpikesOfVillainy: Exaggerated cleats, pointy shoulder pads, her mask even has spiky "eyelashes".
* StatuesqueStunner: At 5'9" she is an inch behind Twintelle from being the tallest female fighter but the spikes on her boots might be playing a big part in this.
* TotallyRadical: Her official title is "The Rad Scientist".
* TrueFinalBoss: Based on the update notes, she will appear at the end of the Grand Prix mode at level 6/7 when playing as someone who isn't Dr. Coyle.
* VillainousBreakdown: See SoreLoser above.
* VisibleInvisibility: When she turns invisible, when her opponent can't see her, her outline appears for the player.
* WeaksauceWeakness: In a sense, certain ARMS attributes function this way against her; Poison, Electric, and Freeze will prevent her from activating her invisibility on knockdown.
* WeCanRuleTogether: She call's Mechanica's work amateurish, but Dr. Coyle's victory quote has her inviting the young girl to become her student.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: [[spoiler:Her ending screen is a torn in two, yet taped back together picture of her and Max Brass in happier times. Apparently he said something to her that she simply couldn't forgive, according to her pre-fight dialogue against him when playing as her in the Grand Prix.]]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Coyle is said, since she was a young girl, to have been ''obsessed'' with ARMS. Then, she found out how to give ''herself'' that power. Since then, as her reveal, well, ''reveals'', everything she's done under the umbrella of the ARMS Research Lab --from Hedlok, to Springtron, to Helix-- everything was for the sake of making ''herself'' the most powerful in the world.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Might have a dislike to serpents given her win quote against Kid Cobra is "Snakes?!" followed by a sound of disgust. Averted with [[MonsterClown clowns]] however, as she tells [[NonIronicClown Lola Pop]] that clowns don't scare her.
* YouHaveFailedMe: [[spoiler:When even Hedlok taking over her body can't defeat the player in Grind Prix mode at Level 6 or 7, she calls him useless and destroys him in anger.]]
* YouthfulFreckles: Is seen with these in her ending visual.

[[folder:Biff]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/biff_1.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuuKobayashi (Japanese)

The announcer of the ARMS League. He's usually quiet, but always game to talk about the ARMS game.
----
* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: In the Japanese version, he sounds like a young boy, while in the English version, he sounds like an adult announcer. However in the final game, his voice is limited to sound effects in all versions.
* AcronymConfusion: Biff doesn't know what DNA stands for.
-->'''Biff:''' "Do Not Attack?" Don't fall for it, Mechanica!
* AmbiguouslyBi: Biff has a canon CelebCrush on Ribbon Girl, but his commentary on Max Brass' Grand Prix makes it seem like the little mascot also has a crush on him. He also describes Master Mummy's one-shoulder wrestling singlet as "sexy" in a tweet focusing on a clothing brand "Achom," which Master Mummy and Spring Man share with.
* TheCameo: Makes an appearance in each fighter's Grand Prix ending with some being more easier to notice than others:
** For Spring Man and Ribbon Girl he's right on stage with them, but more in the background for the latter.
** For Ninjara he's up on the roof of the ninja's school wearing his very own ScarfOfAsskicking.
** With Master Mummy he seems to be interviewing said Grim Creeper alongside his reunited family.
** He's one of the several backs of heads seen during Mechanica's explanation about her suit.
** With Min Min he's eating a bowl of ramen with a group of her fans.
** He pokes his head in the background of the dark laboratory which is Helix's home.
** He's in a photo with Byte and Barq as well as being a grass skirt-wearing, hula-dancing bobblehead.
** He's in the back row of Kid Cobra's group selfie.
** He watches Twintelle's movie while staring in the player's direction.
** His face is on Max's drink carton.
** A balloon shaped like him is seen on the poster for the opening of Lola's circus.
** He's simply hanging out in the shrine with Misango.
** He's in the crowd running towards the child fan touching Springtron's hand.
** He's in the corner watching Max and Coyle in the doctor's ending.
* CartoonCreature: Basically a small, yellow "person" with a fist on his head. He greatly resembles a robot of some sort.
* CelebCrush: Has one on Ribbon Girl.
* CharacterBlog: He has [[http://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter a Japanese-only]] Website/{{Twitter}} feed where he shares information, animations, and production art regarding the game.
* CheckPlease: If you have Min Min in the Grand Prix, on match 9, Biff will say "Check, please!" as a reference for when customers would need a receipt.
* DubNameChange: Several countries have changed his name.
** In Japan, he's known as "Cobushii".
** In German and Dutch he is Armadeus.
** In French he is Globule.
** His Italian name is Armando.
** Depending on the Spanish region he is either Manuelucho (NTSC) or Puñejandro (PAL).
* FaceOnAMilkCarton: How he makes a cameo in Max's ending.
* {{Fanboy}}: He seems to be a big fan of Ribbon Girl. When talking about her in the Directs, he calls her his idol (complete with heart eyes!) and wonders aloud if he can get her autograph. [[https://twitter.com/ARMS_Cobutter/status/866987596127191040 And he does!]]
* MeaningfulName: His name can be seen in Western comic books as one of the many sound effects for when a [[TalkToTheFist fist meets a face]]. Likewise, his Japanese name, "Cobushii", literally means "fist" in Japanese.
* MrExposition: It's only natural with the fact he's the announcer that he has to explain who every fighter is and their abilities.
* NonDubbedGrunts: Which is pretty jarring considering how different his English voice is compared to his Japanese one.
* PungeonMaster: Basically every line after saying which match it is will be a pun related to the character.
* PunnyName: Some of his names mentioned above fit this style.
** Armadeus is a combination of "Arm" and "Amadeus".
** Manuelucho is a combination of the name "Manuel" and the word "luchar", which means to fight.
** Puñejandro is a combination of "puñar", which means to fight and the name "Alejandro".
* SeriesMascot:
** While Spring Man and Ribbon Girl serve this role in terms of player characters, Biff, being a smaller, cuter character, also counts as such.
** In-universe, Biff is the mascot for the ARMS Tournaments.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Like Min Min, he likes noodles. He's jealous that he can't have noodle arms too, to quote a line of his that was in the 5/17 Direct:
-->''"Oh, Ramen Gods, why must you forsake me?!"''

[[folder:Hedlok]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hedlok.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''The Secret Weapon'']]
A floating skull-shaped robot that was originally being developed in a research facility by Dr. Coyle before running amok. It fights by latching itself onto the bodies of other fighters to battle.

He becomes semi-playable in Version 2 in the special "Hedlok Scramble" mode, where combatants fight for Hedlok's body to temporarily assume control of him.
----
* AIIsACrapshoot: Hedlok was originally designed to be an advanced sparring partner, but as of now, Hedlok answers to no one and will use ARMS fighters as puppets simply to beat the tar out of anyone who crosses his path.
* BigBad: He emerges from nowhere to steal the body of the strongest ARMS fighter in the world, Max Brass, forcing the player to save him from the machine running amok. [[spoiler:On higher difficulties, he is instead summoned to steal Dr. Coyle's body (or be forced into symbiosis with her) in a last-ditch effort to defeat the player.]]
* BloodKnight: Hedlok only seems to exist to fight, and beat up, the player, and it doesn't seem to mind this. The constant evil laughter it gives off, especially when it wins a fight, indicates that it '''''really''''' enjoys beating the everloving shit out of you.
* ChestInsignia: He doesn't have a chest, but he does still have an insignia: A circle with six appendages and what appears to be this universe's version of the letter A (as in ARMS)... upside-down.
* DamageSpongeBoss: Hedlok Levels 6 and 7 in multiplayer have lots of health, meaning even a skilled group of players that stay alive and healthy the entire time may not be able to down Hedlok in time within the 99-second time limit.
* DemBones: Hedlok's "head" is based on the design of a skull.
* TheDragon: Turns out, he's Dr. Coyle's personal masterpiece. As Biff clues the player in during her Grand Prix mode, the "incident" at ARMS Research Lab that led to Hedlok breaking free appears to have just been her way of letting him off the leash to run amok.
* TheDreaded: For ARMS Labs, once they realized precisely what they created all too late once it had escaped. With Dr. Coyle [[BlatantLies suddenly losing all interest]], ultimately the only plan they could formulate was to let it roam and ''hope'' the League fighters could bring it down.
* DrunkWithPower: When Hedlok escaped, all that the Lab technicians could glean from its movements was that it was "in search of something". It turned out that "something" was an ideal body -- in the form of the WorldsStrongestMan, Max Brass.
* EvilLaugh: A metallic, hollow, raspy one. And boy, does he use it. His laugh even replaces the announcement of his own name before the battle against him in Grand Prix.
** When attached to [[spoiler:Dr. Coyle, her laugh is mixed in, implying that she's at least partially in control.]]
* EvilMask: Hedlok wears itself on the heads of the normal combatants. The prototype was originally planned to be worn like body armor until Dr. Coyle decided it was too difficult for ordinary humans to handle.
* FinalBoss: Along with being the TrueFinalBoss of Grand Prix, Hedlok also serves as the 100th enemy in [[MultiMookMelee 1-on-100 mode]], where he takes over the last Cell and fights as usual.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Glowing [[ExoticEyeDesigns spiraled]] eyes nonetheless.
* ItCanThink: The problem of Hedlok all comes back to this. ARMS Labs believed that it'd be possible for a fighter to control six ARMS if they made the apparatus instead worn on the head to increase motor cognitive activity. [[GoneHorriblyRight And then Hedlock developed independent thought...]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:If defeated on Level 6 or 7, his host and creator Dr. Coyle destroys Hedlok in rage.]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMBpp3oiwNM A foreboding rock song with various vocal soundbytes (most prominently a metallic groan) that, unlike other songs in the game, does not remix the game's main theme.]] Elements of this song are mixed with Max Brass's theme to make [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz3nOLOxdEk a new song for his battle in Grand Prix]], but the dark guitar riff and metallic groan do show up before the battle starts.
** When facing a Level 8 Hedlok after the 5.0.0 update, he gets [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhC0LtgUEi8 a more hard rock/metal remix of his original theme, which starts with Hedlok himself seemingly screaming in rage.]] [[spoiler:This theme is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqaTBUBSZYI mixed with Dr. Coyle's theme]] in the Level 6 or 7 Grand Prix final battle for the showdown with the two of them.]]
* MeaningfulName: It's a head that locks itself onto the bodies of other fighters.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Has two pairs of spring arms which combine with the two arms of whoever wears it to give six arms total.
* OhCrap: After being thwarted in the Grand Prix and having its ARMS blown off, Hedlok launches itself off the champion and into the horizon, presumably to get the heck out of there ASAP. [[spoiler: On Levels 6 and 7, he simply deactivates, leading to Dr. Coyle removing him directly from her head and taking out her frustration, destroying Hedlok for good.]]
* PowerCopying: Hedlok itself has four spring-type ARMS, but by itself they serve no purpose. When it's chosen a body, however, its ARMS absorb the attributes of those whomever it's taken, giving itself either six of the same type or three ARMS apiece.
* PsychoPrototype: It was being developed by the same enigmatic ARMS Research Lab that was responsible for Helix and the DNA Man line to be used as a sparring machine...[[OhCrap and then it got out]].
* RapidFireFisticuffs: While this trope applies to all fighters in terms of their Rush, Hedlok is unique in that this is its ''grab'', dragging opponents in for a furious beatdown.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Hedlok has glowing red eyes.
* RoarBeforeBeating: Hedlok begins every match giving a shockwave-producing roar, before the immediately-ensuing six-ARM beatdown. His Level 8 battle theme after the 5.0.0 update also starts off with an angry roar from Hedlok.
* RobotAthlete: He's a robot boxer with four arms.
* SNKBoss: Hedlok fights with six arms, has lots of health, and uses the secondary abilities of whichever fighter it combines itself with. Its LimitBreak is also far, far stronger than the Limit Breaks of any of the playable fighters. Downplayed in multiplayer due to the fact that Hedlok is fought 3-on-1, evening the odds, but played very straight in the Grand Prix if you're playing solo.
* TimeLimitBoss: Averted. In Grand Prix mode, the time limit is set to infinite (unlike every other battle, including Max Brass), meaning reducing his HP to 0 is the only way to beat him. Justified as Hedlok clearly isn't interested in playing by the League's rules, and only wants to beat the crap out of you.
* TimedMission: When engaging Hedlok in online multiplayer lobbies. If the timer runs out, it's considered a loss for the team of three challenging Hedlok no matter how much health it has left.
* TrainingDummy: The predecessor device to Hedlok was designed for sparring partners to bring out the full potential of fighters and be worn over the torso like armor. However, [[MadScientist Dr. Coyle]] deemed it too difficult for humans to control all of its ARMS and decided to make a followup that would be worn like a helmet, had A.I. and fought for the fighter wearing it. And [[AIIsACrapshoot then it went downhill from there]].
* TrueFinalBoss: On levels 1-3 in Grand Prix, you beat Max and take home the title. Play on level 4 and higher, and Hedlok pulls an [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma]], taking Max's [[spoiler: or Coyle's]] body and giving you one final [[SNKBoss super-challenging]] opponent. And what makes him so challenging? The fact that he is the only fight in the Grand Prix where there is no timer; it's KO or be KO'd.
* WaveMotionGun: Hedlok's [[LimitBreak Rush]] is a giant orb that it shoots from it's mouth, dealing ''huge'' damage.[[note]]Specifically, 500 or 600 damage for a clean hit. For most fighters, that's at least ''half their life bar.''[[/note]]
* YourHeadAsplode: After beating it down to save Max Brass, Hedlok's internal mechanisms give off an intense violet light before resulting in an explosion that destroys its four ARMS. Hedlok then [[ATwinkleInTheSky bursts off of Max's head into the horizon]]. [[spoiler: On Levels 6 and 7, Dr. Coyle removes and destroys Hedlok out of frustration.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Cell]]
Prototypes of Helix made by ARMS Laboratories. They are the enemies fought in 1-on-100 mode.
----
* BlobMonster: They're made of a fragile black substance which is similar to Helix.
* IAmLegion: Every known quote from The Cell is from 1-on-100 mode in the DNA Lab, and is exclusively in this form. It is made more alien by the fact that it's also in all caps.
* HiveMind: Implied by their legion speak and pitying the player for being "lonely".
* MultiMookMelee: In 1-on-100. They start out practically inert and get more aggressive as you continue.
* OneHitPointWonder: Just one punch or grab is enough to defeat each of them individually. [[spoiler:Until you get to number 100.]]
%%* PaletteSwap: Of Helix.
* TrainingDummy: Played with. In Warm-Up in Party Match, they're not invincible but they come in an endless stream and won't attack you: they don't even have weapons. If you're lucky a golden target will show up worth 1 currency.
