->''"Hey, why are you staring? Stop it! It's embarrassing me..."''

One of Xander's retainers, a cheerful and sociable Mercenary. He loves girls and frequently hits on them or invites them to tea, but is often rejected. He's great at dancing, and can use a special dance command in battle. Goes out at night the most. His birthday is August 7th.

He is actually Inigo from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'' under a pseudonym to conceal his identity. The ''Hidden Truths'' DLC explains why he's in the world of ''Fates''. See Characters/FireEmblemAwakeningSecondGeneration to know more about him as Inigo.

->'''Class:''' Mercenary (default), Hero (''Birthright'' and various DLC) \
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RyuichiKijima (Japanese), Creator/LiamOBrien (English, ''Fates''), Creator/MickWingert (English, ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
----
* ApologeticAttacker: When he meets Corrin for the first time in ''Birthright'', he laments having to attack them but notes he has his orders.
* BattleCouple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Hana and Orochi in ''Revelation''.
* BecomingTheMask: He's gotten so used to his life in Nohr that he feels he's lost touch with his roots and who he is - or who he was, so to speak.
* ButHeSoundsHandsome: When Xander mentions that he's received complaints about a royal retainer going about town and hitting on women, some of whom were in the presence of their spouses at the time, Laslow, who knows full well that they both know it's him, still jokingly says "Do you... know the identity of this gorgeous fiend, milord?"
* ButNowIMustGo: He (and his wife, if he married) departs forever in the epilogue, presumably to go back to Ylisse. If he married the female Corrin in ''Revelation'', however, he returns to stay with her in [[spoiler:Valla]].
* CallBack: In his supports with Saizo, the two of them engage in a charm-off, which Laslow inevitably loses. He then mentions how he also lost to a masked man and a scary guy in the past, a reference to his supports with Gerome and Brady in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''. [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs He then complains he lost to a combination of those two]].
* CasanovaWannabe: Zig-Zagged. It would appear that his technique has marginally improved since his days in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]''. His conversations with Beruka strongly imply that, while his success rate is still well below 50%, he has actually successfully asked women out repeatedly, and that only ''some'' of them proceeded to drug him and rob him blind. However, his gargantuan number of failures is still continuously played for laughs like before.
** When Peri asks him out and calls him cool, he gets extremely surprised and flustered; prompting her to ask:
--->'''Peri:''' Wow, Laslow. Have you struck out with EVERY girl you try to talk to?
** Additionally, in his supports with the female Corrin, when he invites her out for tea, it leads to the revelation that so few people accept his invitations that he doesn't even know what to do when someone actually accepts:
--->'''Laslow:''' You do?! You mean you accept? This is so unexpected! I'm not sure how to react. (Breathe, Laslow! Breathe!)\
'''Corrin:''' ...On second thought, I think I'm busy. I have to ...um, do ...stuff. Royal stuff.\
'''Laslow:''' Ah, there it is. Rejection, my dear old friend.
** Laslow's supports with Mozu reveal that his Casanova tendencies leave him open to being taken advantage of. Their C-Support begins with her finding him with all his stuff stolen in the aftermath of a tea party:
--->'''Mozu:''' H-How come you're tied to that tree? Is this some kinda game you city folks play?\
'''Laslow:''' If only... You see, I was having a pleasant cup of tea with a girl. Really hitting it off. But apparently [[SlippingAMickey she drugged the tea]], because I woke up as you see me now.
* CharacterDevelopment: As Inigo, he used to be very awkward and immature at times, and while not an outright JerkAss, he could be very shallow towards those he flirted with and a bit petty and smug to those he didn't. As Laslow, despite still being a flirt, he is more sensitive to other people's needs and tries to help them, even offering wise advice. Inigo was also embarrassed about his secret dream to be a dancer and felt he was never good enough. Laslow, even if he isn't completely confident as his support with Azura shows, is more than glad to dance in public now, to the point his personal skill is a dance that while not as amazing as his mother's dance command, still raises stats while stacking with rally's, showing he's at least making good progress towards [[{{Pun}} following in his mother's footsteps.]]
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Potentially, if he achieves an S-support with Selena.
* ChivalrousPervert: He loves to flirt with girls in his free time, but he's also capable of giving rather wise and heartfelt advice to his friends (especially Peri) and holds an UndyingLoyalty to Xander.
* CoolSword: While he already uses these exclusively as a Mercenary, there's a cutlass-like sword named as his in-game that can be acquired for him to use, boosting speed in reflection of Laslow's nimble movements as a dancer — at the cost of a lowered defense.
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: He's introduced in Chapter 12 of ''Conquest'' by [[BigDamnHeroes showing up out of nowhere to save the party]], working together with Peri to successfully fight Ryoma (one of Hoshido's best fighters) to a standstill.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: To avoid giving him a canon father, in the ''Before Awakening'' DLC and the Toys/{{amiibo}} conversations, Inigo doesn't recognize Chrom, Frederick, or Robin as his father, or Lucina as his sister. His regular dialogue discards any romantic ties to Ylisse's second generation or Robin, and the game avoids revealing a canon parent by giving the characters their official art hair colors through Anankos' magic. That said, the game does at least indicate Chrom is not his father, as when Owain mentions his Brand of the Exalt being missing, Inigo has no reaction that implies he has one.
* DamageReduction: Can get Aegis in Hidden Truths 2 if he's chosen to use the final Dragon Vein.
* DanceBattler: In addition to combat, Laslow can use his personal skill, Fancy Footwork, to give his allies a small StatusBuff. This can be combined with a number of rally skills he's capable of learning (Skill if he promotes to Bow Knight, Strength if he buddies up with Keaton, and then either Speed, Magic, Resistance or Defense depending on who he marries) in order to provide substantial stat boosts to his allies.
* ADayInTheLimelight: He, Odin, and Selena are the main characters of the ''Hidden Truths'' DLC, which explains how and why they came to the world of ''Fates''.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Can get Astra in Hidden Truths 2 if he's chosen to use the final Dragon Vein. He can also get it if he reclasses to Swordmaster after marrying Hana in ''Revelation''.
* DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: At least one of his conversations is about him getting drugged by a woman, [[ChainedToABed tied up]], and robbed blind, all PlayedForLaughs. According to Laslow, this is ''not'' a one-time thing. [[CallBack This also happened to him]] in ''Awakening'', as recounted in one of his supports with Morgan.
* FamedInStory: Laslow's endings all mention that his dance style would inspire Dancers for generations.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Peri. Both are generally cheery and upbeat, but unlike Laslow, Peri has looser morals when it comes to killing and is much more unstable than her calm partner. Both also lost their mothers, but chose to handle it in different ways.
** Also serves as one to Saizo. Both are the male retainers to the eldest prince of their respective kingdoms. While Laslow is a CasanovaWannabe, Saizo is a ChickMagnet that doesn't want to be chased. They differ in how they treat people to mask their insecurities; as Inigo, Laslow tends to be be nice to girls to flirt with them while acting like a bully to the other guys, while Saizo is generally harsh and impatient to others except to the ones that are kind to him. The difference is that Laslow grows out of the bullying, as seen in his support conversations here.
* GivenNameReveal: He reveals his real name, Inigo, only in his A Support with Odin, and when invited to Corrin's Private Quarters while the two are married (but not to each other).
* HandsomeLech: He's described as good-looking, but according to Elise, it's his personality that turns off the ladies. In his supports with Azura, the two actually get along well until Laslow inevitably begins pushing for tea.
* HealingFactor: His Good Fortune skill has a chance of healing a portion of his HP at the start of each turn, triggering based on his Luck stat.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Odin. The two are old friends who rely on each other for moral support and share a deep bond of trust. This is in contrast to how they were VitriolicBestBuds in ''Awakening''.
* IChooseToStay: If married to a female Corrin in ''Revelation'', his ending mentions that he chooses to stay with her after disappearing for a short while, presumably saying goodbye to his old world.
* {{Irony}}: Despite his confident personality and love of flirting with girls, if ''Laslow'' is given any attention, he becomes very shy and uncomfortable.
* LikeParentLikeChild: If one assumes Olivia married Henry and he himself marries Peri, then just like his mother, he'll have married an AxCrazy BloodKnight with a DarkAndTroubledPast and saw past those flaws to love the person beneath.
* LikeParentLikeSpouse: Several of his possible wives have traits similar to his mother Olivia.
** Azura is a talented singer and dancer like Olivia.
** Mozu shares Olivia's shy nature and self-esteem issues. (They even share the same [[Creator/KarenStrassman English voice actress]]!)
** Felicia is shy and withdrawn when it comes to strangers, similar to Olivia. They also have pink hair. In their supports, Laslow tries to help her overcome this by flirting with men, just like how Olivia taught him to talk to girls, and by proxy, how Maribelle taught Olivia to flirt with noblemen.
** And, as said above, if one made his father Henry in ''Awakening'' and had him marry Peri, she'll essentially be a GenderFlip of his father.
* LifeDrain: Can learn Sol, if promoted to Hero.
* LoveConfession:
-->''I love you, and only you. Your smile makes life worth living. I promise to keep you safe… and I swear, I’ll stay by your side, always.''
* LoverNotAFighter: He'll say he's this verbatim, should he be defeated in battle.
* MeaningfulRename: His real name is Inigo, and he takes on the alias of Laslow during the ''Hidden Truths'' DLC in order to disguise his true origins.
* MightyGlacier: Contrary to his [[FragileSpeedster Awakening self]], Laslow has high growths in Strength, HP, Skill, and Luck, but a middling growth in Speed.
* MoralityPet: If he supports with [[LackOfEmpathy Peri]], he will be able to teach her empathy.
* MyGirlIsASlut: Mutually, if he marries Charlotte. The two agree to an open relationship with both allowed to flirt with others to their heart's content, playfully daring the other to find a better man/woman.
* MythologyGag: In your base, you can give Laslow certain items to trigger special dialogue. If you give him the Fire Emblem Shield accessory, he can't tell it's just a replica and gets flustered and says:
--->'''Laslow:''' Wh-what? Why are you giving this to me? I won't be able to perform the Awakening!
* NiceGuy: He's calm, patient, and considerate of others, and he's very sweet-tempered underneath his incessant flirting.
* NotSoAboveItAll: He's willing to play along with Odin's LargeHam antics and when called Laslow of the Azure Skies, he asks for it to be Indigo Skies instead, then plays along with his antics and love of techniques, coming up with his own called the Sacred Dance of the Mystic Blade during his Support with Odin.
* NotTheIntendedUse: His growths obviously have him favoring the frontline in battle, but his personal skill and class options make him a great rallybot.
* OddFriendship: Develops one with Keaton, and even plays fetch with him. He acknowledges how strange this is, but doesn't mind as long as it makes Keaton happy.
* OlderAndWiser: Inigo, while still a HandsomeLech, is more mature when compared to how he was in ''Awakening''.
* PaletteSwap: He keeps the same blue-and-gray color for his Mercenary vest as a Hero.
* PerformanceAnxiety: He gets nervous when people watch him practice his dances, especially if he still hasn't perfected his routine yet.
* ThePollyanna: No matter the circumstances, Laslow is always seen wearing a cheerful smile. He also implores others to follow his example and allow themselves to smile and be happy, or, as he informs his daughter, to laugh if they can't smile and it'll lead them back to the latter.
* ThePromise: In ''Hidden Truths'', [[spoiler:he makes a promise with Selena that they and Odin will survive their adventure. Ironically, he's the only one of the three that has the potential to die as an enemy unit on ''Birthright'', whereas Odin and Selena will survive the route. Of course, all three have the potential to die in the routes in which they join the heroes]].
* PunnyName: His name in the Japanese version, "Lazward," is a Persian word that may be the origin of the name [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazurite "lazurite"]], the main constituent of a certain semi-precious gemstone. Said stone is the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapis_lazuli "lapis lazuli"]], which is an ''azure'' aka blue-colored gemstone, and the exact meaning of the word "Lazward" is "blue". Since Inigo's original name is ''Azure'' in Japan, this is a hint to his true identity. Likewise, his English name, Laslow, is phonetically similar to ''Laz''-urite.
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"[[LetsDance Shall we dance?]]"''\
''"[[MythologyGag Stop staring at me!]]"''\
''"You're right where I want you!"''\
''"You're not going to like this!"''
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue Oni to his partner Peri's Red Oni. He's a heroic, calm and emotionally stable while she's a morally dubious AxCrazy BloodKnight.
* RememberTheNewGuy: His supports with Xander suggest that [[spoiler:Anankos had done this in order to integrate Selena, Laslow, and Odin into Nohr]]... and that Xander figured something was amiss with his promotion. Not that Xander will argue with results.
* ReverseArmFold: His character portrait, which shows his cool, mature disposition.
* SadClown: He plays a carefree flirt and always tells others to stay positive, but Laslow tends to keep his own anxieties tucked carefully away from the notice of others.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: He's the Sensitive Guy to Saizo's Manly Man in ''Revelation''.
* ShrinkingViolet: Despite fancying himself a ladykiller, Laslow is actually a shy man who can get embarrassed just by being given too much attention, though he tries very hard to hide it. Old habits die hard, as it was mentioned in his supports with his mother in ''Awakening'' that he was as shy as her as a young child, and his flirtatious behavior was a way to overcome it.
* SorryThatImDying: [[spoiler:If he is killed in ''Birthright'', he apologizes to Odin and Selena that he won't be able to return to Ylisse with them.]]
* StatusBuff: His personal skill, Fancy Footwork, gives a +1 boost to the Strength and Speed of nearby allies, and stacks with rally skills.
* TheSpock: The more level-headed of the Odin-Laslow-Selena trio.
* StepfordSmiler: Laslow often comes across as very sad and reflective behind his usual flair.
* ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine: Annoyed with his flirting, Selena begins using pick up lines on ''Laslow'', which greatly embarrasses him. She later apologizes and admits that she overdid it, however, and that he wasn't ''quite'' as bad as her imitation.
* TookALevelInKindness: While he was always a people-pleaser with a HiddenHeartOfGold, Inigo often acted like an obnoxious annoyance towards women and an arrogant bully towards other men. Both of those traits are mostly gone as Laslow, and he is generally characterized as being kind, friendly, and loyal towards others.
* TragicKeepsake: The gold chain he wears on his hip is the same one his late mother Olivia wore. He likely held onto his mother's headband as well, if Soleil's is any indication.
* UndyingLoyalty: He's unflinchingly loyal to his liege lord Xander. [[spoiler:In the final confrontation with Xander in ''Birthright'', Laslow places his life on the line to protect his prince and will ''die'' rather than retreat if he is defeated.]]
* VideoGameCrueltyPotential: In the third route, Laslow is fought several chapters before he joins. Problem is, [[spoiler:Selena]] joins ''before'' said fight. It doesn't take much to make the two friends fight, but while Laslow has some shiny PlotArmor so that he can still join your team later, his companion does not. He and Peri can also potentially die in ''Birthright''.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's unclear what happens to him and Peri if they're still alive when the player kills Xander in Birthright.
* YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame: He's not at all happy to hear that part of the reason Peri likes him is because he's killed so many people.
* YourUniverseOrMine: Much like his friend Odin, in his A rank with his daughter Soleil, the thought of leaving to go back to his old world and possibly having to leave his new family behind depresses him. Despite not really understanding the situation, Soleil tries to cheer him up anyways. It's solved anyway, as [[spoiler:in ''Conquest'', his wife and children follow him back to his world, and in ''Revelation'', he's the one who chooses to stay in Fates' world if he's married to Corrin.]]

Subordinate to Nohr’s Prince Xander, a cavalier. Has a peculiar personality where she transforms into a violent alter-ego upon sensing danger on the battlefield. The best cook. Her birthday is December 24th.

->'''Class:''' Cavalier (default), Great Knight (''Birthright'' and various DLC)\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MinamiTakahashi (Japanese), Creator/ElizabethDaily (English, ''Fates''), Creator/CindyRobinson (English, ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
----
* AffablyEvil: While clearly unstable and possessed of an unhealthy desire to kill, she's surprisingly nice and cheerful with her allies, assuming they aren't servants and even then she can become friends with Felicia and marry Jacob.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: She can get Luna if she promotes to Great Knight. It has a chance to ignore half of the target's Defense or Resistance whenever she attacks.
* AxCrazy: She's very clearly unstable, with an unhealthy desire to kill and see blood. She has just enough restraint to (mostly) direct this at her enemies instead of allies, but they in turn often have to find ways to keep her occupied between battles lest she go off on a killing spree.
* BadBoss: Has a tendency to murder her family servants at the slightest provocation. [[FreudianExcuse This is because she walked in on a crazy servant murdering her mother, with her father possibly encouraging her sadism as he likely didn't see "lowly servants" as people.]]
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus the Hoshidans Hinata and Kaden in ''Revelation''.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Her UndyingLoyalty towards Xander stems from the fact Xander was one of the first people who gave her a chance and treated her like a real human being in a long time.
-->'''Peri:''' Lord Xander doesn't look at me weird, but everyone else sure does. Every soldier at the castle kept their distance from me.
* BerserkerTears: Her critical hit portrait has her [[ScreamingWarrior screaming]] and crying as she attacks her enemy.
* BigBreastPride: She likes to brag about her chest in both ''Fates'' and ''Heroes'', such as in her BathtubBonding dialogue. This is {{Bowdlerise}}d in the English dub.
* BloodKnight: She loves combat and bloodshed, always eager to find an excuse to kill. Even her personal skill is related to this.
-->'''Bloodthirst:''' If Peri initiates the battle and [=KO=]s an enemy with their attack, Strength, Magic, Skill and Speed +4 for one turn.
* BloodLust: She happily reminisces about being covered in her dead servant's blood, and looks forward to spilling that of her enemies.
* BlueBlood: She's part of a well-known Nohrian noble family, which is partly why she has such a spoiled attitude and why she manages to get away with her PsychopathicWomanchild behavior.
* BreakTheCutie: She was a normal child until her mother's murder set Peri on the path to become the dangerously unstable person she is today.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Even by the standards of Nohr's retainers and soldiers (whom in almost total contrast to Hoshido[[note]]They take pretty much exclusively from the cream of the crop in soldiery; part of Hoshido coming off almost as a StraightMan in mundanity compared to Nohr's larger-than-life cast comes down to them coming from nobility, privilege or simply having a lot of discipline as a soldier. By contrast, Nohr's hiring system outright ''cultivates'' [[BunnyEarsLawyer Bunny-Ears Lawyers]] as a rule, given resources are often so scarce they particularly don't care who's able to wield a sword as long as they can[[/note]] doesn't care who's able to fight as long as that they can), she's this. She's a PsychopathicWomanchild who's both extremely childish and emotionally unstable, and is also prone to puns in combat and has major discipline issues. She gets away with it ''because'' she's such a talented fighter. In fact, Xander's whole reason for keeping her on board is her single-handedly winning a tourney as is revealed in their supports; insane or not, she's ''that good'' at mounted combat, [[UnskilledButStrong and that's all]] ''[[UnskilledButStrong without]]'' [[UnskilledButStrong proper training]]. It's also revealed in the tie-in manga ''The Crown of Nibelung'' that Peri's also kept on board because she comes from an [[BlueBlood extremely prestigious noble family]], which in part explains why she's able to get away with it even moreso than she already does; she's a political ally in Nohr.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: In her Japanese support with Arthur, she's distraught that the new clothes she made [[DCupDistress don't fit her figure]], and though Arthur gallantly offers to help he's clearly [[DistractedByTheSexy distracted by the subject being her large breasts]], especially when she tries to get him to grope her so he'll learn her measurements to get her clothes fixed. During her LoveConfession in their S Support he even comically assumes she's still talking about her breasts when she tells him her chest hurts (she means it hurts from heartache of her newfound feelings for him).
* CharacterDevelopment: In some of her supports, she shows a change of becoming less aggressive and violent. In her solo ending, it also fades. The ''most'' she gets is with Laslow, as he teaches her empathy and ''succeeds'', and it's revealed in the Child Festival Scramble DLC she's ''very'' worried that Soleil might be taking after her in regards of how she vents her frustration.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: In her S support with Corrin, she misinterprets his looking for her, after he says he could eat her cooking every day as he wanted her to become his personal chef.
-->'''Corrin:''' If I could eat your amazing food every day.\
'''Peri:''' You're serious? Lord Corrin, are you asking me to...?\
'''Corrin:''' Yes. That's why I was looking for you, in fact.\
'''Peri:''' Oh... I'm sorry, but... I can't be your personal chef!\
'''Corrin:''' My what? N-no, that's not what I meant.
* CreepyChild: Because her mother was murdered by a jealous servant when she was very young, causing her to [[TraumaButton see all her family's servants as potential murderers]], she began killing her family's servants at the slightest provocation even as a child; rumors went around that her family kept an [[DemonicDummy evil homicidal doll]] in the house as a result.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: In a strange variation, Peri's left eye is the same color as the tips of her pigtails.
* CustomUniform: As a Cavalier, she wears ruffly shorts instead of the usual LeotardOfPower that the other female Cavaliers get. The clothing underneath her uniform is also white.
* CuteAndPsycho: She's described as cute and childish, but has a passion for violence and killing, whether against the enemy or against innocent servants.
* DamageReduction: Can get Aegis if promoted to Paladin, or Armored Blow if promoted to Great Knight.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Peri was a relatively normal girl as a child, but her psyche was broken when she discovered her mother's bloody body after she was murdered by one of the family servants. She got stuck in an immature mindset heading into adulthood, while also indiscriminately murdering her family's servants for the smallest slights.
* DCupDistress: The Japanese version of her support with Arthur reveals she has trouble buying clothes that fit with her assets (The English version [[{{Bowdlerise}} changes it to her being upset about a weapon not being sharp enough]]), which is apparently a common issue to her.
* DelayedReaction: In her supports with Felicia, the latter suffers one of her typical gaffes in their C- and A-Supports by spilling tea all over Peri. Peri stays smiling for a moment before realizing she's soaking and getting angry.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: In her B-Support with Odin he tells her that her going into the darkest and most sinister parts of Nohr's slums is a bad idea because even if she's too irreverent to care what people think of her, it risks reflecting badly on Xander by association. Peri admits she hadn't thought of that.
* DisproportionateRetribution:
** In her C Support with Felicia, Peri threatens to kill the maid just because she spilled tea all over her if it happens again. In their A Support, it happens again and she tries it.
** When Peri was still living with her family, she would kill the servants for doing anything that annoyed her.
* {{Expy}}: Peri is modeled after Henry from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''. Both are [[HeroicComedicSociopath sociopaths]] with a [[BloodKnight love for killing]] and [[FreudianExcuse tragic childhoods]], but are surprisingly nice people outside of battle. Their [[CharacterTic tendency to smile with their eyes closed]] is also quite similar.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Despite being a HeroicComedicSociopath and a SerialKiller, she clearly has some standards:
** Due to her trauma and being a FriendToAllChildren, the ''one'' line Peri refuses to cross is murdering other children. It's for this reason that in Odin's support with her when he recants a rumor that she's willing to kill babies, she's ''horrified.''
** In the same dialogue, she's similarly horrified at the idea of murdering kittens.
** It's likewise for that reason that even though she mellows out as per her CharacterDevelopment with her supports with Laslow, she actually chastises Soleil for displaying bloodlust in their supports.
** Though Peri doesn't particularly care who dies in her rampages, she vastly prefers fighting opponents that can fight back; she's also horrified when Laslow delivers an ArmorPiercingQuestion if she ever thinks about the people she fights and kills.
* EvilParentsWantGoodKids: If she's a mother, she does not wish for her HeroicComedicSociopath tendencies to pass to her children, as shown by her interaction with Soleil in the Child Festival Scramble DLC.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: She's a GirlyBruiser who greatly enjoys cooking and is said to be [[SupremeChef quite good at it]].
* {{Foil}}:
** To her partner Laslow. Both are cheery and upbeat, but Laslow is much more mature and calm, meanwhile Peri is quick to be riled up and enjoys bloodshed and death. Both also lost their mothers in terrible ways, but handle their suffering very differently.
** Among the Hoshidan retainers, she foils Kagero; both are loyal female servants of the eldest prince, [[BlueBlood come from esteemed families]], have [[BunnyEarsLawyer strange personalities]], have [[HidingBehindYourBangs one eye always covered by their hair]], will kill whoever they're told to and have [[BuxomBeautyStandard very busty figures]] (Kagero's [[MsFanservice being more obvious in her uniform]] while Peri's [[HiddenBuxom less so with her armor]]). The difference is that Peri's a [[WomanChild childlike]], [[BloodKnight bloodthirsty]], [[MoodSwinger mood-swinging]], [[TheBigGuy frontline]] horseback-rider while Kagero's a [[LadyOfWar mature]], [[AloofDarkHairedGirl calm]], [[TheStoic dispassionate]], stealth-oriented {{Ninja}}. [[spoiler:Unsurprisingly, they can forge an OddFriendship in ''Revelation''.]]
* FreudianExcuse: Her murderous hatred of servants and general psychopathy were caused by a {{yandere}} servant murdering her mother because she spurned his advances, and a very young Peri coming across the crime scene. It didn't help that her father, either because he also came to resent his servants or didn't even see them as people worth caring about, did nothing to correct her behavior and is even implied to have ''encouraged'' it, since Peri recounts him watching her kill all the time without stopping her.
* FriendToAllChildren: Peri has many unflattering qualities, but among her most redeeming is her sheer protectiveness and kindness to other children. She ''refuses'' to harm children as evidenced by her supports and tends to actually be not only great with kids on an impersonal level, but a [[GoodParents Good Parent]] as well. This actually came as a result of Peri's trauma from her childhood that made her into the messed-up person she is, so it actually makes a lot of sense that the person perpetually stuck in a child's mentality wouldn't want to hurt other children.
* FunWithAcronyms: In all of her introductions, she states that the letters in her name stand for various violent words.
** In ''Conquest'', "P" stands for "pulverize", "E" stands for "eviscerate", "R" stands for "ruin", and "I" stands for "impale".
** In ''Revelation'' and ''Heroes'', "P" stands for "pierce", "E" stands for "eviscerate" (again), "R" stands for "rupture", and "I" stands for "injure".
* GirlishPigtails: She's a PsychopathicWomanchild and her pigtails help to make her look childish and immature.
* GirlyBruiser: She may be a BloodKnight, but Peri wears make up, loves shopping and wearing cute accessories, is a [[FeminineWomenCanCook great cook]] and is absolutely terrified of any bugs outside of butterflies.
* GoodCounterpart: 'Good' is a [[HeroicComedicSociopath loose word here]], but she's clearly a heroic counterpart to Hans. Both are {{Serial Killer}}s who are AxCrazy, but while Peri is a PerkyFemaleMinion who is both a FriendToAllChildren, directs her fighting to other enemies only and is usually PlayedForLaughs, Hans is [[spoiler:a SociopathicSoldier who massacres innocent Chevois soldiers and shows ''no'' remorse for his actions, being PlayedForDrama]]. Peri herself isn't exactly fresh on the scale of heroism, but her absolute worst is still leagues better than Hans's absolute ''best.''
* GoodParents: [[HiddenDepths Shockingly enough]], Peri is one of the most affectionate and loving parents of the first Generation. She's extremely caring and empathetic to her own kids, often playing along with them and being deeply encouraging, and her supports confirm she is a loving wife and mother. [[FridgeBrilliance This actually makes sense]], given she herself is mentally OneOfTheKids and as such has a far better means of relating to them.
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'' Chapter 26, Peri dies with a smile on her face, proud of serving Xander, despite knowing that she disobeyed his orders not to interfere with his duel against Corrin.]]
* HeroicComedicSociopath: She's on the side of the heroes by being Xander's retainer, and she clearly enjoys killing bad guys and making puns at their expense. And despite being an outright PsychopathicWomanchild SerialKiller, she clearly has ''some'' standards and enough redeeming qualities that it's about the biggest reason why she's kept along by Xander (as shown in her supports with Odin, where she openly makes a reformation group counseling session for ex-convicts).
* HiddenBuxom: While it's not obvious due to her armor, she's actually stacked and shares the same busty underwear/bikini character model as Camilla, Charlotte, Orochi, and Kagero.
* HiddenDepths:
** While Peri shows psychopathic tendencies and enjoys killing servants (and anything else in her way), she can be very kind to those she considers friends.
** Her supports with Odin reveal she runs an anger-management support group among the criminals of the Nohrian slums, partially to pass her own methods of dealing with her own psychotic tendencies onto them, and partially to make Nohr a better place by extension. Odin is impressed.
** While Peri herself is a PsychopathicWomanchild, it's ''because'' of her childish tendencies that actually make her [[FriendToAllChildren great with kids]]; she refuses to harm any children in general (both due to her trauma and based on her own morals) and [[GoodParents is a shockingly-competent parent for the Second Generation]].
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her right eye is often covered by her hair, which conceals the fact she has a green heterochromatic eye.
* HypocriticalHumor: Peri knows her actions are wrong, and says death isn't fun when it's happening to her in a support with Jakob. It goes from {{hypocrite}} to this thanks to [[DeadpanSnarker Jakob's VERY snarky reply]].
-->'''Peri:''' If you don't pour me some tea, I'll...I'll... [[DisproportionateRetribution I'll kill everyone in the area!]]\
'''Jakob:''' I don't care in the slightest. If you try and go on a killing spree in camp, I'm certain you'll be punished. Banishment at the minimum, but probably execution just to be safe.\
'''Peri:''' Huh?! But I don't wanna be executed! Killing isn't fun when it's happening to me!\
'''Jakob:''' Then I suppose you'll have to abandon your plans for the day. The tea and the murder.\
'''Peri:''' Jakob, you meanie!
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: Takes a liking to Laslow precisely ''because'' she can tell he's killed before. Laslow, unsurprisingly, isn't pleased.
* {{Irony}}: Peri's mother was killed by a {{Yandere}} servant who wanted to have her all to himself. In some of her supports, ''[[YouAreWhatYouHate Peri has the potential to become a Yandere herself]]''.
* LackOfEmpathy: She has a problem with seeing servants as "people", thanks to leftover trauma from her mother's murder. This can change if she supports with Laslow, as he tries to teach her empathy and succeeds -- and if she marries Laslow, [[CharacterDevelopment Peri will even scold their daughter Soleil in the Child Scramble DLC for starting to display the same mindset she once had.]]
* LastGirlWins: From a gameplay standpoint. In the ''Revelation'' route, she is the last generally eligible bachelorette to join the party, and thus has a claim to this for all of her love interests.
* LoveConfession:
-->''I know nothing will ever come between us! Because I will eviscerate anyone who tries.''
* LoveRedeems: While she's not fully evil, she still shows a clear LackOfEmpathy and is a TokenEvilTeammate who kills for fun. If she supports with Laslow, he will be able to teach her empathy and to change her ways.
* MeaningfulName: [[DubNameChange Two in particular]]:
** ''Pieri'' is an Italian surname that originated from the Tuscan name ''Piero'', which is a variant of the name Pietro. However, in Romanian, Pieri means "to die".
** ''Peri'' is a type of nymph from Persian mythology who are often depicted as beautiful maidens, and are described as mischievous beings that have been denied entry to paradise until they have completed penance for atonement. Which frankly ''perfectly'' describes Peri, if one extends her mischief to [[HeroicComedicSociopath another angle]].
* MissingMom: Peri's mother, whom she was ''very'' close to, was murdered by a servant when she was a child; she walked in the crime scene, and was so badly traumatized that to this day she has difficulty telling the servants apart.
* MoodSwinger: She can easily flip from happy and cheerful to violently angry to hysterically sobbing, and vice versa.
* MoralityChain: Corrin becomes one for her if they marry. She tells their daughter Kana that she doesn't really understand why it's bad to kill things and pick flowers, only that it's important to him that she not do so.
* MoralSociopathy: She's completely unhinged and happy to kill any enemies ([[AndZoidberg or hapless servants]]) she sees, but she actually has a firm code despite her serial killing; she refuses to harm any children as a rule, she's clearly horrified by hurting cute animals like cats, and she vastly prefers to fight enemies who can actually fight back. She even has a reformation program for other criminals in Nohr, as her supports with Odin prove, and in several of her supports (like Keaton, Laslow and Corrin), she can either temper her lust for violence or, as her endings show, completely outgrow it. [[TruthInTelevision This is actually quite in line with how many real-world criminals or serial killers operate]]; many tend to hold a particular code that they refuse to break, despite engaging in such anti-social activities.
* NiceToTheWaiter: PlayedWith. She's one of the least sympathetic Nohr characters due to being a noblewoman who hates servants to the point of killing them to sate her bloodlust or [[DisproportionateRetribution for trivial mistakes]], but she has a FreudianExcuse for this behavior since during her childhood she witnesses one of her family servants murder her mother because she spurned his advances.
* NonconformistDyedHair: Her natural hair is blue but she dyes her hair to have pink tips which is appropriate for her being a BunnyEarsLawyer noblewoman.
* NoSocialSkills: Peri's supports with Xander have her lamenting that people yell at her for [[WhatsUpKingDude being too casual with her Lord]], and she wants to learn how to speak like a noble would.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: In her supports with Niles, it's revealed he broke into her family's manor when she was younger in search of a DemonicDummy they'd heard the family was keeping on the property, a search that proved fruitless. In their A-Support, Niles realizes the rumor was actually referring to Peri herself.
* OneOfTheKids: Peri is consistently great with kids, and it's in part because she's so emotionally-stunted she acts two decades older than she actually is.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: At the end of ''Birthright'' when [[spoiler:Elise is accidentally killed by Xander and he gives the order for them to not get involved, Peri immediately yells that she's not abandoning him and will fight to the end with him. This is ''especially'' uncharacteristic given how undisciplined Peri is, that she's willing to go that far when nobody expects somebody like her to continue fighting. Her last words are apologizing to Xander for disobeying his orders and that she was proud to serve him, before tearfully musing that this is what death must feel like]].
* PetTheDog: If fed a bad dish in the Mess Hall, she tells the chef to cheer up and offers to give them some cooking pointers.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"There's blood in your eye!"''\
''"I'm feeling stabby!"''\
''"Right where I want you!"''\
''"Say goodbye to your intestines!"''
* PsychopathicWomanchild: She's incredibly immature and takes a huge liking to murdering people with little provocation. It's because she never grew out of her childish mind after her mother was murdered by a family servant.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red Oni to her partner Laslowi's Blue Oni. She's a morally dubious AxCrazy BloodKnight while he's a heroic, calm and emotionally stable.
* ResistantToMagic: Oddly enough for a Cavalier, Peri has a very good Resistance growth. This makes her ideal for clearing out magic users without taking too much damage in return, especially if she Class Changes to a Paladin.
* SerialKiller: Her paired endings with Laslow and Odin mention that her disappearance from the historical record also coincides with the end of a string of missing person cases. Her support with Leo even opens with her telling him she plans to go out and kill a random person that night.
* StepfordSmiler: A mix of Depressed and Unstable. The only way she could deal with the trauma from her mother's murder was by throwing herself into battle and pretending to enjoy it, which was at first just a mask but eventually [[BecomingTheMask became second nature to her]].
* SupremeChef: Her profile says she's the "best cook", and in her support chain with Laslow, she brings him food that she made for him as thanks for helping her deal with the loss of her mother. It also comes up in Corrin and Selena's supports with her, the former being surprised a BloodKnight like her enjoys anything beside killing while the latter is downright shocked at being out-cooked by her. Peri tells Laslow in their supports that her mother was also a very good cook, so it probably runs in the family. Crosses over into GameplayAndStoryIntegration; if she is on cooking duty at the Mess Hall, any units who eat her dishes will receive large stat boosts for the next battle.
* SweetTooth: She creates her own candies, of which Kaze finds delicious.
* TearsOfJoy: Peri sheds these if a Male Corrin reaches an S-support with her.
* ThirdPersonPerson: She refers to herself in the third person in the Japanese version, which reflects her childlike and immature personality. In the English version, she speaks in first person but uses rather juvenile language to convey that same idea. (i.e., when he explains her DarkAndTroubledPast to Laslow, she depicts [[spoiler:her mother's death and what followed]] in ''very'' childish terms, as if she still was the same little girl [[spoiler:found her mom's bloody corpse]].)
* TokenEvilTeammate: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. Peri is [[InsanityDefense too insane to really be called evil]], but the distinction can be academic if one focuses entirely on her actions. She's completely and totally unhinged, regularly kills [[ForTheEvulz for fun]], attempts to murder Felicia in their A support, and struggled to empathize with people before Leo (unsuccessfully) and Laslow (successfully) try to teach it to her. However, she's also a loyal ally of Prince Xander, clearly is affectionate and empathetic to the people she ''does'' like, and has a moral code that at worst prevents her from truly crossing any lines and at ''best'' actually has her grow as a person for it.
* TookALevelInKindness:
** In her solo ending, her cruelty fades as she becomes commander of Nohr's army, though her childish demeanor still remains.
** If she gets married, her ending mentions that she (eventually) learns the difference between right and wrong, and she actually mellows out ''before'' getting married if paired with Laslow.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: Her father knew about her habit of murdering their servants and did nothing to stop it, even if he was right there when it happened, for unknown reasons. It's fair to say that a ''lot'' of his daughter's psychosis stems from him normalizing her bloodlust and homicidal tendencies.
* UndyingLoyalty: Despite her violent mental instability, she's unflinchingly loyal to her lord, Xander. [[spoiler:During the final battle with Xander in ''Birthright'', if Peri is defeated, she will ''die'' rather than retreat and abandon her liege.]]
* UnskilledButStrong: The reason Xander recruited her as a retainer. She once capriciously decided to compete in a fighting tournament, despite a complete lack of formal training; she didn't win, but she still placed very highly. Xander promptly sought her service on the spot, recognizing that if she could do that well ''without'' training, she'd be practically unstoppable ''with'' training. [[spoiler:If they S-support, he also admits that he fell for her charms at around the same time.]] This even ties in to gameplay, where her Skill growth is lacking compared to her Strength and Speed.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's unclear what happens to her and Laslow if they're still alive when the player kills Xander in Birthright.
* WhatIfTheBabyIsLikeMe: Her conversation with Soleil in the Child Festival Scramble DLC, if she's her mother, shows that she's afraid of Soleil ending up as [[CuteAndPsycho violent and aggressive]] as her.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Despite being a particularly morally-questionable person, she -- of all people -- refuses to abandon Xander in Chapter 26 of ''Birthright'' and fights with him to the bitter end to protect her lord when Xander outright gives orders for her to retreat. [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness It's especially notable]] as it's ''[[HeroicComedicSociopath Peri]]'' that does this, yet she continues to loyally serve Xander past the point that there's any obligation for her to do so.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In her C support with Kaden in ''Revelation'', she absolutely ''freaks'' when a caterpillar climbs on her back.
* WorthyOpponent: Her Supports with Hinata in ''Revelation'' have him seeking her out to spar with because she's the most skilled warrior he can find.
* {{Yandere}}:
** In her confession scene, she says she'll never let anything come between her and Corrin... because she'll eviscerate anyone who tries.
** Her S support with Kaden has her saying that it's a good thing he's marrying her, as she had a knife with her, ready to cut out his heart if he refused.
** In her S support with Benny, after Benny tells her that he's nice to her because he was raised to be nice to all girls, Peri starts sobbing and complains that she wants to be special and she'll kill all of the other girls Benny is nice to. Luckily, Benny assures her that she IS special to him.
* YourMakeupIsRunning: Peri wears eyeshadow as part of her makeup. It runs down her eyes whenever she is sad or extremely enraged, and her Critical portrait uses her "enraged" face that lets the player see it up close.

[[caption-width-right:350:[[{{Tsundere}} Cutting Wit]]]]
->''"You're so hopeless, heh heh. Lucky for you we're here to bail you out."''

A mercenary and one of Camilla's retainers. She hates losing and can't relax if she isn't the best, leading her to constantly pursue rematches against those that have bested her in games or competitions until she's beaten them. She can be very harsh with her sharp tongue, but deep down does truly care about others she considers her friends. The most wasteful shopper. Her birthday is January 21st.

She is actually Severa from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'' under a pseudonym to conceal her identity. The ''Hidden Truths'' DLC explains why she's in the world of ''Fates''. See Characters/FireEmblemAwakeningSecondGeneration to know more about her as Severa.

->'''Class:''' Mercenary (default), Bow Knight (''Birthright'' and various DLC) \
'''Voiced by:''' Saori Seto (Japanese), Creator/JulieAnnTaylor (English)
----
* ACupAngst: Her Supports with the male Corrin reveal that she's a bit insecure about her bust size when compared to Camilla, [[SharedFamilyQuirks a complex she inherited from her mother, Cordelia]].
* AdaptationalWimp: Of the ''Awakening'' PowerTrio of herself, Inigo, and Owain, she had the highest base modifiers in [[LightningBruiser strength, speed, skill, and defense]], at the cost of lower [[MagicallyIneptFighter luck, magic, and resistance]]. In ''Fates'', she ends up with lower strength and skill than either of them, although she does retain her higher speed and defense.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Can get Luna in ''Hidden Truths 2'' if she's chosen to use the final Dragon Vein.
* BadassAdorable: She's a cute {{Tsundere}} mercenary with huge pigtails, a pretty physical fighting style, and a personal skill that lets her deal ''even more damage'' in certain circumstances.
* BadassArmfold: Her default pose in her portrait and My Castle model. In her support with Kaze, she herself notes that the arm-folding is a sign of distancing oneself from others, matching her aloof attitude toward others.
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus the Hoshidans Subaki and Hinata in ''Revelation''.
* BrickJoke: She mentions starting a "S&B Society" in her supports with Brady in ''Awakening''. In ''Fates'', she starts the [=SelenArthur=] Alliance, which uses the same codenames (She's S, Arthur is B).
* BigStupidDoodooHead: Calls Keaton a "big dumb idiot" in their B-Support upon having to fulfill a bet the two made about who could do best at hunting, which she lost at. Said bet involved the loser doing a rooster call in the middle of a crowd of people, which Selena was left utterly humiliated at having to do -- to the point that she seemingly she ran off in tears over it.
-->'''Selena:''' YOU BIG, DUMB IDIOT! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!\
'''Keaton:''' Aaaaand she's gone... Man, that was painful to watch...
* BowAndSwordInAccord: If promoted to Bow Knight.
* ButNowIMustGo: She (and her husband, if she married) departs forever in the epilogue, presumably to go back to Ylisse.
* CharacterDevelopment: While still a bit of a {{Tsundere}} and very competitive, Selena's far nicer a person than she was in ''Awakening'', where she could go to AlphaBitch levels of cruelty in her Supports. It's subtly reflected by how Kozaki draws her here in comparison to her ''Awakening'' sprites.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Potentially if she achieves an S-support with Odin or Laslow.
* CleavageWindow: If promoted to Bow Knight.
* CoolSword: While she already uses these exclusively as a Mercenary, there's a saber-style sword named as hers in-game that can be acquired for her to use, with a high Might rating and increased chances of critical hits in reflection of Selena's aggressive gung-ho personality - at the cost of a lowered evasion.
* CompetitionFreak:
** She strives to be the best at everything, and eagerly challenges others to competitions if just to prove her superiority. Her personal skill, Fierce Rival, allows her to guarantee a CriticalHit on her dual strike if the unit she is supporting lands a critical hit first.
** Parodied in her supports with Peri, who constantly challenges and beats Selena at horrible or trivial things, like fake crying. Much to Selena's chagrin, losing at these things still bothers her even though she knows it shouldn't. Best shown in their C-Support where Peri declares herself [[HuntingTheMostDangerousGame the best at murder and challenges Selena to beat her]]. When Selena refuses to go on a killing spree ([[RightForTheWrongReasons on the basis that it's not an actual sport]]), the result is as follows:
--->'''Peri:''' Then I'm automatically the best at it! Hooray for me!\
'''Selena:''' Grrr...Why does this bother me SO MUCH?!
* ComplimentFishing: She sometimes makes comments about herself and waits impatiently for others to say something nice... and often gets aggravated if they don't.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Downplayed. Selena has red eyes and hair, but her eyes are of a darker shade than her hair. This is likely an unmentioned part of her disguise as in Awakening her eyes are brown.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: To avoid giving her a canon father, in the ''Before Awakening'' DLC and the amiibo conversations, Severa doesn't recognize Frederick as her father. Her regular dialogue discards any romantic ties to Ylisse's second generation or Robin, and the game avoids revealing a canon parent by giving the characters their official art hair colors through [[spoiler:Anankos']] magic.
* DamageReduction:
** She can get Warding Blow in Hidden Truths 2 if she's chosen to use the final Dragon Vein.
** She also has access to Warding Blow in the main campaign if she reclasses into her secondary class Sky Knight, then promotes into a Falcon Knight to get the skill.
* ADayInTheLimelight: She, Odin, and Laslow are the main characters of the ''Hidden Truths'' DLC, which explains how and why they came to the world of ''Fates''.
* DeadpanSnarker: She's infamous for her sharp tongue, often making snide remarks and criticisms.
* {{Determinator}}: No matter how trivial, Selena never quits at ''anything''. Until she can succeed at something she initially failed at, or beat someone she originally lost to, she will spend every waking moment practicing until she does.
* DevelopersDesiredDate: While their potential romance is exclusive to ''Revelation'', she's this to Subaki, albeit mostly indirectly. While their own support chain lightly spotlights how much Subaki [[YouRemindMeOfX reminds Selena of her mother]], she's most obviously intended for him through his daughter Caeldori. If Selena is Caeldori's mother, they get a unique special conversation at the end of the latter's paralogue that spotlights how much Caeldori resembles Cordelia. Additionally, their support conversations are significantly altered to show how Selena comes to terms with how talented her daughter is, but how she's different from Cordelia after all.
* FieryRedhead: She's an aggressive {{Tsundere}} ''par excellence'', and has red hair, which is from her ''Awakening'' artwork the same shade as her mother, Cordelia's, and a fixed color unlike in that game. This is a magically-induced part of her new identity rather than CuttingOffTheBranches.
* {{Flanderization}}: Selena's [[HeroicSelfDeprecation desire to prove herself]], which was a mild personality trait that mostly related to her relationship with Cordelia in ''Awakening'', is played up substantially to borderline CompetitionFreak levels in ''Fates'', with a large majority of her supports featuring her trying to one-up someone else. This is especially noticeable when compared to Laslow and Odin, whose main personality quirks were largely kept intact in the transition between games.
* {{Foil}}:
** With the Nohr characters, she's this to Beruka. Beruka's more reserved while Selena's more talkative and boisterous, but they both struggle to express their feelings openly and honestly. In addition, Selena tries very hard to prove her skill, meanwhile Beruka is highly skilled with no insecurities.
** Among Hoshido's characters, she foils Subaki. Both of them are very competitive redheads who care a lot about personal appearances, try their utmost to be perfect at any task they're given and came from prestigious families whom they were always compared to. However, Selena is more aggressive and proactive while Subaki is more passive and calm. [[spoiler:It also turns out they both mask deep insecurities about living up to their family legacy, but differ in that Selena resented living in her mother's shadow and tried her best to define herself outside it, whereas Subaki devoted himself to living up to the expectations of others and saw himself as worthless if he couldn't]].
** She also can foil Azama among Hoshido's cast. Both are the cynical, blunt and sharp-tongued retainer of the eldest princess. The difference is that Selena is an aggressive and [[{{Tsundere}} somewhat dishonest]] sword-wielder, while Azama is a lazy and up-front healer.
* GirlishPigtails: She's an immature {{Tsundere}} with huge pigtails ones that reach all the way to her thighs.
* GirlyBruiser: She has a lot of appreciation for fashion, beauty and other girlish endeavors, but is also well-known for her skill as a swordswoman.
* GivenNameReveal: She reveals her real name, Severa, only when invited to Corrin's Private Quarters while the two are married (but not to each other).
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: While Selena and Laslow both begin as Mercenaries, Laslow's canon promotion (indicated by his unique coloring and his appearance in ''Birthright'') is Hero, which takes up axes. Meanwhile, Selena's is Bow Knight, which has both bows and swords. The player can, of course, promote them however they wish.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Comes up in her supports with Subaki and Caeldori, where Selena suffers from an inferiority complex because of how much the two remind her of her mother. They both reassure Selena that she is far more skilled of a warrior than she gives herself credit for. Caeldori in particular has a similar complex towards Selena that she herself has towards Cordelia.
* HiddenDepths: Like in ''Awakening'', she's a surprisingly good [[TheStrategist Strategist]]. Her supports with Leo begin with her having beaten all her friends at a strategic war game and by the A-support beating him, arguably the most intelligent person in Corrin's army, at it.[[note]]Of course, he beat her several times before that point, but the fact she scored a victory at all against him can be considered a big achievement[[/note]]
* HorseArcher: Gains both a horse and a bow if made a Bow Knight.
* HypocriticalHumor: A few examples in her supports:
** She calls Kaze suspicious for having his arms crossed all the time. He promptly points out that Selena has hers crossed, too.
** Selena complains about how much of a wasteful shopper Setsuna is in ''Revelation'' when her own profile calls her the most wasteful spender in the army.
* {{Irony}}: Selena/Severa, whose greatest desire was to be as different from Cordelia as possible, can potentially marry her {{expy}} Subaki and mother Caeldori in the ''Revelation'' route, who's even more of a Cordelia expy.
* JackOfAllTrades: Lucky for her competitive streak, Selena has picked up a wide variety of proficiencies including sewing, cooking, and accessory-crafting, unlike in Awakening where Severa's A-Support with her father reveals that she [[SacrificedBasicSkillForAwesomeTraining struggles with work outside of fighting]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She still is a Type A {{Tsundere}}, but she is somewhat nicer than she was in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]''.
* TheKirk: Finds middle ground between the boisterousness of Odin and the level-headedness of Laslow in the Odin-Laslow-Selena trio.
* LikeParentLikeSpouse: This ends up happening if she marries Subaki on the third path, given that he is a gender-flipped {{expy}} of her mother, Cordelia. In a bit of a variation, her husband ends up resembling her mother rather than any of her ambiguous fathers.
* LifeDrain: Can learn Sol, if promoted to Hero.
* LoveConfession
-->''You're lucky to be marrying me. Just don't screw it up.''
* MeaningfulRename: Her real name is Severa, but took on the alias Selena to hide her origins before traveling to Nohr.
* MythologyGag:
** Selena can reclass into a Sky Knight, and is the only Nohr unit who can do so. This is because she could also reclass into a Pegasus Knight and its promoted classes in ''Awakening'' as well, as inheritance from her mother Cordelia.
** In your base, you can give Selena certain items to trigger special dialogue. If you give her the Fire Emblem Shield accessory, she says:
---> '''Selena:''' I know it isn't real, but it still brings back memories. That it's complete is... annoying.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: With Subaki in their supports on the third path, as they realize that despite the latter's resemblance to her mother, they both had to work to get to their level of skill.
* OneSteveLimit: She's not the first Selena to appear in a localized ''Franchise/FireEmblem,'' the first being in ''The Sacred Stones''. She is the first playable one however, if one doesn't count the Einherjar version of ''Sacred Stones'' Selena or post-game''Sacred Stones'' where Selena is unlockable.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Played with. As is referenced in Leo's supports, Selena is actually rather skilled in her own right compared to most other fighters (especially the regular soldiers and mook opponents the player often faces). Unfortunately, she ended up in an army with several people who are better than her in at least one skill apiece - Leo's a better tactician, Peri's a better cook (and killer), Keaton's a better hunter, etc - so she often faces some HeroicSelfDeprecation as a result.[[note]]Of course, those better than her are usually the best at their specific skills over ''everyone else'', so the fact that she can compete with them in the first place - or in Leo's case, score a win at all - could be considered impressive[[/note]]
* PaletteSwap: A red Mercenary uniform, which carries over to her Bow Knight promotion.
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"Time to play!"''\
''"Loser!"''\
''"So annoying!"''\
''"Let's get this over with!"''
* PunnyName: As a hint towards her actual identity, Selena's Japanese moon-based name, Luna, references her true identity's Japanese name, Serena, which may be derived from Selene (the name of a moon goddess). Bringing this full circle, her false English name is either derived from both or an alternate romanization of "Serena".
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red Oni to her partner Beruka's Blue Oni. She's a passionate FieryRedhead while Beruka is a blue-haired EmotionlessGirl.
* SkewedPriorities: In ''Hidden Truths'', Odin and Laslow pack only weapons and basic essentials for their trip to Nohr. Selena brings her entire wardrobe of clothes and an ''umbrella'' (which Laslow can promptly use as a weapon).
* SoreLoser: She's said to be one, and can't rest unless she's confident she's the best at something.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Her pride can make her seem unapproachable, but she also has a friendly side, too.
* TookALevelInKindness: While still a {{Tsundere}} like in ''Awakening'', she's a bit more willing to show off her soft side and be nice to others and doesn't have the AlphaBitch attitude she had in ''Awakening''.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A. Stubborn and prideful, but surprisingly caring underneath it all.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Her relationship with Odin and Laslow, though the vitriol is entirely from her side due to annoyance of their antics.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Selena can actually be killed by Laslow, her childhood friend, in the ''Revelation'' route, since she joins a chapter before he is fought as a boss. Though this is more of an egregious case of GameplayAndStorySegregation since the two don't even get a special conversation that acknowledges what they're doing.
* YourUniverseOrMine: If she marries someone other than [[ChildhoodFriendRomance Odin or Laslow]], she expresses that she will have to choose between going home or staying with her love.

A Wyvern Rider who serves as Camilla's subordinate. She was born in the slums and was abandoned by her parents. Deathly silent and devoid of expression. She has worked as an assassin since childhood and is infamous as a capable killer. Camilla is fond of strong women, and Beruka is her favorite. Has a high resistance to poison. Her birthday is February 26th.

->'''Class:''' Wyvern Rider (default), Wyvern Lord (''Birthright'' and various DLC) \
'''Voiced by:''' Masumi Tazawa (Japanese), Creator/StephanieSheh (English)
----
* BadassesWearBandanas: No matter what her character class, the bandana says put.
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus Azama and Saizo in ''Revelation''.
* BarbaricBattleaxe: Subverted; she fights with an axe, but while she's undeniably brutal with the weapon, it's hard to call her barbaric. She's very calm, professional and a trained hitwoman; every motion is calculated rather than frenzied.
* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: She fights with an axe while writing on a wyvern; that's as unsubtle as you can get for being a professional killer. She hits the personality too; while she's on the side of the good guys, she's extremely no-nonsense and unafraid to use an unsubtle amount of force.
* CharacterDevelopment: All of her Supports see her to becoming a polite, dutiful and kind woman, as opposed to the blunt, rude and unfeeling person she starts out as.
* CombatPragmatist: Appropriately for an assassin, her personal skill increases her damage when attacking enemies that can't defend themselves.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Her support with Charlotte has the other woman try to teach Beruka in the [[FemmeFatale advantages of using her feminine wiles]], but Beruka is too LiteralMinded and keeps misunderstanding things. Charlotte notices, [[TheGadfly but doesn't attempt to make things clear because the situation amuses her]]. It's only when Beruka tells Camilla about Charlotte claims that she starts to understand her mistake.
-->'''Beruka:''' Everything you told me before... None of it was true, was it?\
'''Charlotte:''' What do you mean?\
'''Beruka:''' An exposed chest alone cannot kill a man. Lunch will not let you grab on to someone's beating heart...\
'''Charlotte:''' Hrm. I'm assuming you asked someone else what they thought of these methods?\
'''Beruka:''' I spoke with Lady Camilla.\
'''Charlotte:''' Oh really? How did she react?\
'''Beruka:''' That was the loudest I have heard her laugh in some time.
* ConsummateProfessional: As described by others, Beruka's most noteworthy trait pre-character development is her brutal efficiency in carrying out her goals, having no tolerance for distraction or frivolity when on the job - all of which helped distinguish her as one of the best assassins in Nohr.
* CriticalHitClass: Her personal axe greatly increases her critical output and damage, at the cost of increasing her own vulnerability to hostile criticals.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: A very young Beruka was abandoned in the slums by her mother, and she was taken in [[spoiler:by a hitman who trained her in the art of assassination - [[SelfMadeOrphan and was eventually one of her victims]], though [[NothingPersonal he held no hard feelings over this]].]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: In her own words, during her and [[spoiler:Jakob]]'s supports:
-->"I'm doing the same thing I've always done. Take requests and kill someone. Take orders, and kill my enemies... it's all the same, just as I've always done. But when I'm here, I feel like one day I won't be able to do that anymore. I won't be able to stay as the self I've been all this time anymore."
* DoesNotLikeSpam: If the player has a dairy tile in their My Castle, then Beruka will comment that she isn't fond of milk if she gives them some of it. May potentially double as a BrickJoke regarding her short height.
* DragonRider: Her starting class is Wyvern Rider.
* ElementalPowers: Able to wield magic tomes if promoted to Malig Knight.
* EmotionlessGirl: Being raised since childhood as an assassin, Beruka has become very numb and struggles to understand emotions. By the end of her support chains, she eventually succeeds.
* {{Foil}}:
** To her partner, Selena. Selena is more talkative and boisterous while Beruka's more reserved, but they both struggle to express affection normally due to past hang-ups and traumas. In addition, Beruka is highly skilled and has no insecurities about her strength, whereas Selena is very insecure and feels she needs to prove herself.
** She also foils Setsuna. Both are blue-haired girls serving the eldest princess who are reserved, stoic, often act alone and rarely speak with or express any emotions - in large part due to being emotionally stunted. However, Setsuna is an archer who was born so wealthy that she became bored with life and lost the ability to feel satisfaction with anything, while Beruka's a wyvern-rider who grew up on the streets as a murderer and was left desensitized by her bleak lifestyle.
* HarmfulToMinors: In her A Support with Corrin, she mentions that her first murder was at barely ten years old.
* HatesSmallTalk: As far as she's concerned, people should only talk to her when there's something important to say. She thinks normal conversations are a waste of time, and claims to be a bad conversationalist in her C Support with Camilla - in fact, Beruka only continues talking with Camilla because she was given a direct order to. Taken to an almost ridiculous extreme with [[spoiler:Saizo]], where in the localization their C-support conversation only consists of VisibleSilence! Though the rest of their talks have them speaking more or less normally.
* HeroicBSOD: Implied past-tense. [[spoiler:In her supports with Camilla, they recount how Beruka ended up in the former's service - namely that Beruka was contracted to assassinate Camilla, [[AssassinOutclassin only to be defeated]]. This caused Beruka to suffer a complete mental shutdown, repeating the words [[MadnessMantra "I can't return until you're dead"]] over and over with Camilla likening her to "a doll whose windup mechanism had broken." Camilla subsequently took pity on Beruka and offered to hire her, on the fear that left alone Beruka [[DeathByDespair would otherwise just drop dead]] or possibly attempt a SuicideByCop against Camilla]].
* HighlyVisibleNinja: She's a trained assassin much like the ninjas of Hoshido are and ''can'' easily fight stealthily... but in battle, she abandons all pretense by being a ''[[LightningBruiser Wyvern Rider]]'' with a large axe and a no-nonsense demeanor to match it. This is especially jarring as her supports with Saizo shows she has a great understanding of stealthy assassinations, she just doesn't fight as one at all.
* ItWasAGift: Her armor was gifted to her by Camilla, which was a suit she used to wear.
* IWorkAlone: If paired up with another unit, she grouses that she fights solo and they should not interfere. If a dual striking ally kills her target, she growls that it was UnwantedAssistance.
* LadyOfWar: A quiet, reserved assassin who values professionalism and efficiency in her work.
* LightningBruiser: She hits hard, has excellent battlefield coverage, and impressive defense. She's extremely vulnerable to mages and archers, however.
* LiteralMinded: When Charlotte gives her tips on how to "[[FemmeFatale seize the hearts]]" of men, Beruka believes she is literally talking about [[AttackOnTheHeart striking their hearts]] and [[AndShowItToYou ripping them off]].
* LoveConfession:
-->''This warm, cozy feeling... Is this happiness? I only now realize that I love you...''
* {{Ninja}}: She's themed after the classical ninja portrayal of an elite StealthExpert assassin.
* NoPlaceForMeThere: Brought up in her S-support with Saizo, where he and she admit they may have no place in the world to come after Corrin brings peace.
* NotSoStoic: Several of her S Supports end with her showing ''far'' more emotion than her usual range, to the point where she even cries.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: A strange case. Beruka claims she would turn on Camilla in an instant if someone came to her offering more money than Camilla currently does - though she'd also have to be able to trust them more than she does Camilla, which by her own admission she thinks may be impossible.
* OppositesAttract: She has two.
** Odin is more boisterous whereas she lets her actions speak for her. In their supports, Odin allegedly uses magic to help Beruka experience emotions. Then comes the S-support, where he, developing genuine feelings for her, reveals there was no spell to begin with - it's just Beruka doing it all herself.
** Beruka has been a killer for most of her life while Arthur is all about justice. Their supports explore hilariously how differing they are, with Beruka struggling to understand what justice truly means to Arthur.
* {{Patricide}}: She killed her own adoptive father when she was an adult, but only because someone gave her a contract to do it, as she had no real connection to the man since he simply raised her to be an emotionless killer. Oboro's shocked by the idea, but Beruka is non-plussed
-->'''Beruka:''' When I got older, and moved into taking on my own assassination jobs... I received a contract. The target was my foster father.\
'''Oboro:''' That's why you killed him? The man who raised you as his own?!\
'''Beruka:''' Yes. I killed him using the skills he taught me. I never hesitated. These things are more common than you might think in the world of assassins.\
'''Oboro:''' B-but why? Why did he have to die?\
'''Beruka:''' Any assassin who works long enough becomes a liability. Veteran assassins are commonly silenced to [[HeKnowsTooMuch bury whatever secrets they know]]. With his last breath, [[FaceDeathWithDignity he said it was time to pay his dues]]. That was the second time I heard him talk like that.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She's quite small in stature but can dish out a lot of damage due to being an axe-user.
* PleaseKillMeIfItSatisfiesYou: [[spoiler:After revealing to Oboro that her foster father was the one who killed Oboro's parents in their A-Support, Beruka also reveals that she already killed the man herself, as part of a job issued to [[HeKnowsTooMuch bury the secrets he knew]]. Because that means [[KillSteal Oboro can't take revenge]], she offers to let Oboro kill her instead. But Oboro refuses, having realized that she can't hold Beruka responsible for someone else's crimes, that Beruka is herself a victim of Nohr's cutthroat culture that led to her parents' murder, and that it'd only propagate the CycleOfRevenge.]]
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"Time to play!"''\
''"You won't survive this!"''\
''"Be ready!"''\
''"Finishing the mission!"''
* ProfessionalKiller: Was originally hired to assassinate Camilla before she convinced her to be her bodyguard instead. Her solo ending implies she eventually quits the business altogether.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue Oni to her partner Selena's Red Oni. She's a reserved blue-haired EmotionlessGirl while Selena is a boisterous FieryRedhead.
* ReiAyanamiExpy: Beruka hits almost every single point of the archetype, more specifically being emotionless, having short bobbed hair in an unusual color, was raised by a professional murderer, and eventually opens up to most of the characters she supports with.
* TheStoic: She's dealt with the extreme circumstances of her life experiences and traumas by suppressing almost all her feelings. Quite a few of her supports involve her learning to [[DefrostingIceQueen open up more]].
* TaughtByExperience: How she comes to comprehend emotion in others; by observing their reactions and connections with others. This is evidenced in both her Supports, as well as one of her critical lines ("Time to play!", which was picked up from Camilla despite being one of the least likely things [[TheStoic someone]] [[ConsummateProfessional like]] [[ProfessionalKiller her]] would say).
* TerseTalker: Has a habit of speaking very short, clipped sentences.
* TsurimeEyes: Her eyes are sharp and slightly slanted, showing her no-nonsense personality.
* TykeBomb: She was raised in a secret assassins' guild from childhood by her adoptive father where she was taught nothing but how to kill.
* UngratefulBastard: PlayedForLaughs. If an ally kills a unit she was fighting in attack stance, she complains [[KillSteal they stole her kill]].
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: In several of her S-supports, she admits that she doesn't believe she's ever experienced love. It's perfectly lampshaded in her LoveConfession to a Male Corrin.
* {{Workaholic}}: Beruka is singularly focused on fulfilling her duties for Camilla, to the point that she spends her free time just standing around waiting to receive more orders.

A mysterious Dark Mage who spends his days developing “awesome special attacks” and absurd names for his weapons. He is easily riled up for battle, and claims he's in constant danger of losing control of his power. He's also one of Leo's retainers, working alongside Niles. His past is shrouded in mystery, and he doesn't like talking about it, though he still talks a great deal. The most apt to shout "Level Up!" in the army. His birthday is July 15th.

He is actually Owain from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'' under a pseudonym to conceal his identity. The ''Hidden Truths'' DLC explains why he's in the world of ''Fates''. See Characters/FireEmblemAwakeningSecondGeneration to know more about him as Owain.

->'''Class:''' Dark Mage (default), Sorcerer (''Birthright'' and various DLC), Myrmidon (''Hidden Truths 1'') \
'''Voiced by:''' Hidenori Takahashi (Japanese), Creator/KaijiTang (English)
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: When Odin first became Leo's retainer, Leo sent him on seemingly impossible tasks with the hopes that Odin would run scared, only for him to succeed in every single one by himself. This comes to a head when Leo sent Odin to find an object he made up on the spot, and whose properties don't even make sense, only for Odin to ''still'' succeed. It was around then that Leo actually came to trust him.
-->'''Leo:''' I'd never even ''heard'' of a "lodestone imbued with darkness." It doesn't even make sense! But you found one all the same.\
'''Odin:''' Well, I DO know a thing or two about darkness, milord.
* BadassCape: Even [[TheGadfly Selena]] thinks it looks good on him.
* BattleCouple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Kagero and Orochi in ''Revelation''.
* BoisterousBruiser: He loves to brag about his supposedly immense power and daring others to challenge his might.
* BrickJoke: Odin's Dark Mage class is reference to the "Owain Dark" fantasy persona he cultivated in several of his supports in ''Awakening''.
* ButNowIMustGo: He (and his wife, if he married) departs forever in the epilogue, presumably to go back to Ylisse. If he married the female Corrin in ''Revelation'', however, they stay in [[spoiler:Valla]].
* CastingAShadow: As a Dark Mage or Sorcerer, he can wield Dark Magic tomes. In the "Royal Royale" DLC, he will use Nosferatu and Odin's Grimoire, both tomes of BlackMagic.
* CallBack:
** In his B Support with Azura, he mentions that he developed a fear of bridges due to a bad experience he had on one - a reference to an incident in the ''The Future Past'' DLC in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening''.
** With Ophelia, he mentions the legendary sword Mystletainn (an item he sought in his Paralogue in ''Awakening''), as well as its cheap knockoff, Missiletainn.
** Odin's secondary class is Samurai, which is the ''Fates'' equivalent of his base class (Myrmidon) from ''Awakening''. His Samurai and Swordmaster outfits are even colored yellow instead of the standard blue to match his old Myrmidon outfit.
* CallingYourAttacks: He ''loves'' to make up random names for his attacks, which he will spout when he lands a CriticalHit or activates a skill.
* CharacterDevelopment: He's the same Owain we all know and love, but his supports with Laslow and Selena show he's surprisingly grown up, perhaps even moreso than them. While Selena has homesickness and Laslow fears he's starting to forget his old life, Odin seems to be dealing with it much better and even helps both of them to overcome their struggles.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Potentially, if he achieves an S-support with Selena.
* TheConfidant: Surprisingly, both of his childhood friends, Selena and Laslow, will confide to Odin insecurities that they share with nobody else in their supports with him, not even with each-other.
* CriticalHitClass: His Sorcerer class has a built-in critical hit bonus, he has a focus on Skill (which is the stat that determines the unit's innate Critical Hit chance), and his personal skill boosts the Crit rate of any weapon with the ability to critical that meets it's requirements. Furthermore, there's a tome named after him that has both a high crit chance and the ability to do 4 times the damage when a critical hit is activated with it - something that's usually reserved for the Killer weapons and their ranged counterparts.
* CustomUniform: His Dark Mage and Sorcerer outfits are bright yellow, likely as a hint of his true identity as Owain.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: To avoid giving him a canon father, in the ''Before Awakening'' DLC and the amiibo conversations, Owain doesn't recognize Frederick or Robin as his father. His regular dialogue discards any romantic ties to Ylisse's second generation or Robin and the game avoids revealing a canon parent by giving the characters their official art hair colors through [[spoiler:Anankos's]] magic.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He admits he's jealous of Nyx, wishing he had a dark origin story like her. [[{{Irony}} Ironically]], Odin's origin story - [[spoiler:in which he lost his parents (with his father dying right before his eyes) and grew up as one of the last survivors in an evil dragon's literal post-apocalyptic world that was so screwed they had to use time-travel to fix it]] - might possibly be even more tragic than Nyx's own.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Uses dark magic but is far from evil. His powers are a symbol of his dramatic persona if anything.
* DarknessVonGothickname: He introduces himself as "Odin Dark," master of foul dark magic, always on the verge of losing control of his powers. It's clear that he made up the name for himself.
* ADayInTheLimelight: He, Selena, and Laslow are the main characters of the ''Hidden Truths'' DLC, which explains how and why they came to the world of ''Fates''.
* DramaticIrony: His mother's angst in ''Awakening'' is that she is terrified that she might be adopted due to lacking the [[BirthmarkOfDestiny Brand of the Exalt]] and is relived that her son has one. When [[spoiler:Anankos]] changes his appearance, Owain's Brand disappears, becoming much like his mother. [[spoiler:His daughter Ophelia, however, inherits the Brand. Presumbly Kana, if Corrin marries either Odin or Ophelia, and Shigure, if Odin marries Azura, would inherit the Brand as well, but this is not brought up in their conversations with Odin or Ophelia, much like how Chrom's children other than Lucina and Inigo (if Chrom marries Olivia) didn't mention having it]].
* ElementalPowers: As a Dark Mage, he's able to wield magic tomes.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: During the ''Hidden Truths'' DLC, he can scream his battle cry "Odin Dark knows no fear!" despite the DLC taking place during his time as Owain, before he adopted the pseudonym Odin.
* GivenNameReveal: He reveals his real name, Owain, only during his A Support with Laslow, or while bonding with Corrin in their Private Quarters if the two are married (but not to each other).
* HeroicBuild: He has some surprisingly toned muscles, and they're clearly exposed by his Dark Mage uniform.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Laslow. The two are old friends who rely on each other for moral support and share a deep bond of trust. This is in contrast to how they were more so VitriolicBestBuds when they were younger.
* HotBlooded: He's very passionate about his curses, always shouting loudly and trying to show off. He also hates dullness and often embellishes stories about himself to sound more exciting.
* ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe: Gender inverted on his support with Elise. Elise is the one to propose that they marry to kill off any rumors about them, but Odin gets flustered and tries to explain that he isn't worthy of her. She resists and they decide to marry, with Odin promising to prove his worthiness to others so he can be with her.
* IChooseToStay: If married to a female Corrin in ''Revelation'', his ending mentions that he chooses to stay with her after disappearing for a short while, presumably saying goodbye to his old world.
* {{Irony}}:
** Due to his high Magic inheritance from his mother, he often made a better mage than a physical combatant in ''Awakening'' despite starting out as a physical class. In ''Fates'' this is flipped: he starts out as the magic-based Dark Mage, but his growths lean slightly towards a physical class.
** He often laments not having a "cool backstory" like some of the other characters do, but anyone who's played ''Awakening'' and learned what he's been through will know he's probably got one of the most impressive and dark pasts among much of the cast. Too bad he can't actually ''talk'' about any of it, due to the whole "secret identity" thing - although even that adds to being part of a cool backstory.
* JackOfAllStats: His stat growths are very balanced across the board without any positive or negative standouts, with the exception of Skill which will grow at a rather fast rate. All of this makes him rather flexible with what he can reclass into without excelling in any single role, though he favors builds and classes that let him get a high CriticalHit activation rate.
* JumpedAtTheCall: While all are hesitant to leave their world for Nohr in ''Hidden Truths'', Odin is the most vocal in helping Anankos, believing it is their destiny to aid those in need no matter what world it is. He was also easily seduced by the promise of "new powers" and "mysterious new identities."
* LargeHam: Odin usually speaks in a very flowery and dramatic manner.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Due to his quirky personality, he sometimes sounds this way.
** He apparently likes to shout "Level up!" a lot.
** In his B support with Niles, just as the latter brings up his past, Odin states that their conversation is over, and the support promptly concludes.
** In his B-support with Leo, he laments that he doesn't get exciting missions anymore, saying, quote:
---> '''Odin:''' A hero needs more than fetch quests and escort missions!
* LikeParentLikeSpouse: This can happen if he marries Elise, who is a cheerful, sociable WhiteMage much like his mother Lissa.
* LifeDrain: Odin can learn Lifetaker if he Class Changes to Dark Knight, and can get Sol in the "Hidden Truths 2" DLC if chosen for the final Dragon Vein. Lifetaker heals him whenever he gets a kill on an attack he initiated, while Sol has a chance to heal him for 50% of any damage dealt.
* LoveConfession:
-->''The stars shall go dark before my devotion to you fades. Uhh, I mean... I love you.''
* MagicKnight: If promoted to Dark Knight, he can use swords along with his magic.
* MagikarpPower: Not of the normal variety, since Dark Mage's pathetically low growths offset his fantastic personal ones. Instead, if you use a Heart Seal to promote him to the much better Samurai class, he starts off even ''worse'', but becomes powerful enough that he may very well be one of your ''best'' units after promoting.
* TheMcCoy: The boisterous and HotBlooded of the Odin-Laslow-Selena trio.
* MeaningfulRename: His real name is Owain, but takes on the name Odin to hide his origins before venturing to Nohr.
* MeaningfulName: "Odin" is a Norse god often associated with war, poetry and sorcery.
* MrFanservice: Not only is he very handsome but, unlike [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Henry]] before him, he's wearing the {{stripperiffic}} SensualSpandex-y attire for Dark Mages... [[http://amagicrobot.tumblr.com/post/122744388961/odin which is]] ''even more'' stripperiffic than in ''Awakening''. [[http://amagicrobot.tumblr.com/post/122458476353/odin And he also has]] [[HeroicBuild VERY strong and nice muscles to show off underneath.]] His Dark Mage outfit, which prominently shows off lower body, also makes it abundantly clear [[GoingCommando he isn't wearing anything underneath]] ''and'' [[BiggerIsBetterInBed he's... well, quite "gifted" in the pants.]]
* MrImagination: He frequently launches into overly dramatic tangents, shouting claims of his powers overwhelming his control, but everyone is aware he's making it up.
* MythologyGag:
** One of Odin's reclass options is Samurai, which is basically the ''Fates'' counterpart to the Myrmidon class, Odin's starting class when he was Owain.
** In your base, you can give him certain accessories to trigger special dialogue. If you give him the Fire Emblem Shield, he'll say:
--->'''Odin:''' What?! Could this be from my homeland?! Or... maybe it just appears to be...
** If you give him Lucina's butterfly mask, he'll say:
--->'''Odin:''' This mask once belonged to a close ally of mine! I always wanted to try it on.
** If you give him the Bear Mask, he'll say:
--->'''Odin:''' What is this? It appeals to the awful sense of fashion a royal family I once knew had.
* NamedWeapon: His signature skill, Aching Blood, gives him a crit bonus if you make him one of these in the forge, provided the name is at least 12 characters long.
* NiceGuy: He's a very friendly and considerate person, in spite of being a Dark Mage. In his supports with Orochi it's even mentioned that his magic is not as strong as it could be specifically because he's too nice.
* OppositesAttract: His supports with Beruka, a silent assassin, where he allegedly puts on her a spell that causes her to experience some emotions. He later reveals it was not the case - she did it on her own.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: A minor "easter egg" of sorts. If Corrin gifts the "Grima Feather" to him, he will drop his act completely to tell them that he wants nothing to do with the particular item. Selena and Laslow also voice distaste for it, but Odin gets straight up ''[[WhatTheHellPlayer pissed.]]''
* PaletteSwap: Wears bright yellow as a Dark Mage and Sorcerer, and keeps the yellow color scheme for his Samurai class branch as well.
* PlayingWithFire: Has a Fire tome in ''Hidden Truths 2''.
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"Unquenchable Blood Flames!"''\
''"You can't hide from me!"''\
''"Eldritch Smackdown!"''\
''"Abysmal Body Blow!"''
* ShockAndAwe: He starts with a Thunder tome, and has a Levin Sword and Mjolnir tome in the ''Hidden Truths'' [=DLC=]s. In ''Heroes'' he is strictly a Thunder Mage in contrast to other Dark Mages who retain their dark tomes in that game.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In his supports with Azura, it's revealed that he ''really'' hates heights, and doubly-so if they involve suspension bridges. This is a reference to ''The Future Past 2'' [=DLC=] in ''Awakening'' where he nearly died while near a bridge.
* YouLookFamiliar: In-universe example. In the Awakening DLC, he is worried about this when he talks with his mom Lissa, but she not only doesn't know who he is (since this is the Lissa from ''before'' she found and met Robin), but just wanted to know his name, as it sounds cool - so much so that she expresses a desire to give any children she has a similar name, meaning Odin may very well have helped name himself.
* YourUniverseOrMine: [[spoiler:In his parent-child supports A rank, he notes that at some point he will have to choose whether or not to go back to his original world or stay here, and expresses [[TearJerker sadness]] at the thought of Ophelia [[IChooseToStay not being willing to come with him]] if he chooses to leave.]]

A former robber who now works for Leo, prince of Nohr. He is an extreme sadist who loves the sight of others' suffering and often speaks in riddles. He can use the "Capture" command if a prison has been built in My Castle. When a generic unit has been defeated using this skill, they will be sent to the prison. Loves to stargaze. His birthday is April 22nd.

->'''Class:''' Outlaw (default), Adventurer (''Birthright'' and various DLC) \
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TakehitoKoyasu (Japanese), Roger Rose (English, ''Fates''), Creator/MichaelSinterniklaas (English, ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'', ''VideoGame/FireEmblemWarriors'')
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Has a noticeable tan compared to many of the other characters from Nohr.
* AntiHero: In the Nohr campaign. He has a filthy mouth, a filthy mind and admits to being a sadist, but he still fights by Corrin's side.
* BattleCouple: Can marry an Corrin of either gender, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Oboro and Setsuna in ''Revelation''.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Him and Beruka, as former {{street urchin}}s who were abandoned by their mothers and raised in the slums by very crooked people (thieves in Niles' case, a ProfessionalKiller in Beruka's).
* BowAndSwordInAccord: Uses both if promoted into Bow Knight.
* BrutalHonesty: If there's anything Niles lacks, it's a brain-to-mouth filter. He always states what's in his mind, no matter what is it and who he's talking to. If he reaches [[RelationshipUpgrade an S Support]] with Elise, this trait is actually what made Elise fall for him.
-->'''Elise:''' When the time is right, I think I should marry someone like you.\
'''Niles:''' Oh? Any reason?\
'''Elise:''' Yeah. I need a husband who won't mince words. Someone who knows how things really are. Who doesn't sugarcoat anything.
* CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest: While he takes pleasure in being a tease most of the time, his supports with women like Azura, Nyx and Oboro reveal that he ''does'' tone down the double entendre when genuinely interested in someone... and then [[SubvertedTrope Nyx asks him to keep doing it anyway.]]
* CombatMedic: If he's promoted to Adventurer, he can use staves.
* CommonalityConnection:
** He and Azura are pretty much opposites, but they bond over their issues with opening up to people.
** He and Camilla end up bonding over their opposite but still very troubled pasts and their penchants for {{double entendre}}s.
** He and Beruka have opposing behaviors but connect through their shared professions and pasts as [[StreetUrchin street urchins]].
* CustomUniform: His Outlaw outfit is blue and black.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Niles' father dumped his mother while she was still pregnant, and his mother either disappeared or left Niles when he was so young that he is unable to remember her face (and Beruka tells him that she's found out his mother died years ago). Niles was then raised by a gang of thieves, who ultimately abandoned him when they were all caught by Leo during a heist. All of this turned Niles into a sadist and cynic who resents when well-off or privileged people flaunt their fortunes over others - especially if they're people who've never suffered a day in their lives.
-->'''Niles:''' [to Camilla] "My parents abandoned me in the slums of Nohr. I was raised by thieves and criminals. I learned fast. I did what had to be done to survive! So forgive me if I'm a little jealous. When I see someone who is oblivious to suffering, I like to give them an education. That moment when they discover their first taste of pain is pure bliss!"
* DepravedBisexual: Actively cultivates this sort of persona, constantly throwing suggestive comments at men and women alike while proclaiming himself a cruel and twisted sadist. In actuality, Niles is a much more decent and humble person at heart.
* DespairEventHorizon: Was dangerously close to it when he was thrown under the bus by the thieves that raised him. That's why he told Leo to "GetItOverWith" and execute him... which ironically piqued Leo's interest and made him take Niles in as his retainer.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade Legault]]: sharing both history in thievery and a teasing personality.
* EyepatchOfPower: He has one over his right eye socket, as his original eye was gouged out. Luckily, he only needs one eye to notch an arrow.
* EyeScream: Niles' missing eye was gouged out by another thief when he was still a young StreetUrchin, according to his Private Quarters lines.
* {{Foil}}
** To Setsuna. Both of them are skilled archers with one visible eye who act like they have no cares in the world, but [[{{Troll}} his personality]] and [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} hers]] couldn't be any more different, nor could their [[DarkAndTroubledPast respective]] [[RichBoredom pasts]].
** Can also be applied to Oboro. Both are orphans who were ''[[BrokenBird really]]'' [[DarkAndTroubledPast messed-up by past events]], retainers to the youngest prince of their respective kingdoms, can be potentially feared for their attitudes and have a lot of unresolved grudges to deal with. However, Niles is an archer and a vulgar flirt whose ill will is directed at oppressive nobles and is infamous for his [[{{Troll}} wicked tongue]], while Oboro is a lance-fighter that has singular affections for Takumi, hates pretty much anyone who's [[FantasticRacism a Nohrian]] and is famed for her [[DeathGlare "Demon Face" glare]]. [[spoiler:Ironically, not only Niles can become her LoveInterest, but she'll be one of the ''very'' few women [[CantActPervertedTowardALoveInterest he doesn't flirt with.]]]]
* GayOption: A male Corrin can marry him. In a twist to this trope, they could be said to be each other's gay option, as he too has primarily female suitors. Unfortunately, taking this option has a gameplay-based downside: you can't recruit either Kana ''or'' Nina in that playthrough (since they won't be born).
* HandicappedBadass: He doesn't let the whole "only having one eye" thing get in the way of his archery.
* HiddenDepths: He starts his S-Support with Corrin by asking if it's possible for someone to be broken beyond repair, and Corrin quickly realizes he is talking about himself. Some supports imply that he carries these doubts with him.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Many of his supports expose several of his better sides. i.e, when Mozu tells him in their supports that she's looking for her DoomedHometown's treasure (a jade jewel), Niles doesn't seem to be very sympathetic but he secretly "pulls strings" among his remaining thief friends and finds it for her.
* HorseArcher: Gains a horse if promoted into Bow Knight.
* KickTheDog: In his C-Support with Camilla, Niles silently alludes to being totally okay with leaving a lost puppy out in the cold.
* LoveConfession:
-->''Do you have any idea what you're getting into? I sure hope not...''
* LuckySeven: Can get this as a skill if promoted to Adventurer.
* MageKiller: Niles comes with a high rank in Resistance and equally-good stat growth, which gets even higher if he Class Changes to Adventurer. While his ability to combat mages is somewhat compromised by how tomes and scrolls have a TacticalRockPaperScissors advantage over bows and yumi, Niles can still easily go toe-to-toe with them and come out on top.
* MasterOfUnlocking: Starts out with the Locktouch skill.
* MrFanservice: He's TallDarkAndHandsome, has a sexy voice, and loves [[TheTease dirty]][[DoubleEntendre -talk]].
* MyHeroZero: Applies to his Japanese name. His English name is in turn a pun on the term ''nil'' (nothing). He's a distinguished badass, considered the best in his field of theft and assassination.
* MysteriousPast: He says he has a past he can't talk about during his S-Support with Corrin. The few details he has revealed to others (like Beruka, Azura, Arthur and Leo) state that [[DarkAndTroubledPast said past is REALLY not pretty]].
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: In his supports with Oboro, he continually uses innuendo - which pisses her off. When he apologizes for it in their A support, he ''does it again'' after she accepts the apology.
-->'''Oboro:''' It's fine. Just as long as you keep the innuendo to a minimum, OK?\
'''Niles:''' Sure, no problem. [[AccidentalInnuendo It'd bring me all kinds of pleasure]]!\
'''Oboro:''' NILES.\
'''Niles:''' W-was I doing it again?! Sorry!\
'''Oboro:''' Heh heh. It's OK. I'll forgive the slip-up just this once.
* ParentalHypocrisy: Niles is unhappy to learn of Nina's JustLikeRobinHood behavior, and tries to keep her from continuing it. When she protests that he was also a thief, he is quick to point out that he didn't have a choice due to being abandoned by his parents, telling her that he objects to her lifestyle because he doesn't want there to be even the slightest chance of her going through the same things he did.
* PetTheDog: While Niles is known for being a jerk sometimes, he does go out of his way to help Mozu in his A Support with her by [[spoiler:recovering the only memento she has from when her village was attacked and says he'll be there for her in their S Support convo.]]
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"You can't hide from me!"''\
''"Time to suffer!"''\
''"Here's a taste!"''\
''"Oh, yes...!"''
* RapeAsBackstory: Heavily implied as the survivor of such in his Japanese supports with Corrin.
* RecruitingTheCriminal: Despite being an infamous thief, he was appointed as Leo's subordinate for his skill after the latter chose to spare his life.
* {{Sadist}}: Said to be one, and can certainly be cruel towards his enemies, but most of the time he's just a {{troll}}.
* SexForSolace: Offers this to Mozu in their B-Support when she talks about her SurvivorsGuilt with him, but she refuses.
* SourOutsideSadInside: He is often abrasive when first getting to know someone, but he states he only does this to ward them off so that they don't get a chance to judge him like all the others.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He may be dark-skinned rather than dark-haired, but otherwise he fits in fairly well.
* TheTease:
** Many of his romantic supports include {{double entendre}}s, as pointed out by people like Effie (who starts their C support by scolding him because his dirty words are [[FromTheMouthsofBabes starting to rub off on Elise]]) and Camilla ([[RefugeInAudacity who pretty much tells him in their S-support to talk dirty to her every day]])...
** In Felicia's C Support, she spills soup on him and he attempts to tease her by threatening to take his clothes off where he stands. She asks for him to do so so she can help him clean. They go on this back and forth for a while until he realizes he can't embarrass her and decides to leave and keep his clothes on.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Downplayed; despite being a self-proclaimed {{Sadist}}, this mostly translates to making other people uncomfortable instead of outright miserable.
* {{Troll}}: He enjoys making others mad and uncomfortable, which is often accomplished by speaking in {{double entendre}}s.
* UndyingLoyalty:
** Develops this for Corrin should they reach their A support.
** Has it for Leo for sparing his life when his companions abandoned him during their attempt to steal from Nohr's castle and making him his direct subordinate.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Noted to be a sadist who enjoys the suffering of others. Several of his supports, like those he has with Azura and Camilla, have him reveal that he ''specifically'' enjoys the suffering of those in privileged lives who he thinks are happier than him, since he grew up in absolutely miserable circumstances.
* YoureCuteWhenYoureAngry: He enjoys teasing several people, such as Corrin and Camilla, to see them flustered or angry. There's also a darker variant, where he flat-out says he borderline-bullies TheIngenue-like characters, such as Mozu and Elise, because he likes to see them cry. This is something of an InformedAttribute though, as he's actually quite sweet towards the former two in his Supports, particularly Elise.

[[BigEater Has the most second helpings.]] Her birthday is April 13th.

->'''Class:''' Knight (default), General (''Birthright'' and various DLC)\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuukiKuwahara (Japanese), Creator/MarishaRay (English)
----
* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: While in the original Japanese, Effie was a somewhat soft spoken LadyOfWar, some parts of the localization (like the Private Quarters and her event quotes) have her as a more abrasive (with a more confident voice to match) jock-type who is very much proud of her body and how strong she is. However, as far as actual dialogue in her Supports go, there is very little difference between the two.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Can get Luna if promoted to Great Knight.
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus Azama and Hayato in ''Revelation''.
* BeautifulDreamer: In ''Revelation'', Azama describes Effie's sleeping face as "endearingly naive" during their A Support.
* BigEater:
** Many of her supports mention her [[RunningGag eating, taking someone else's food]], etc. Justified by how she's constantly training, so she needs to eat quite more than others.
** In a Kozaki sketch, she and Arthur dine together on their day off. She is seen happily eating mountains of plates, whereas Arthur can't keep up with her and the servers look ''terrified''.
* BreastPlate: Her armor's chestplate has rounded cups for her bosom.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: She has unbelievable strength, which is attributed to her rigorous training.
* ChildhoodFriends: She's known Elise since they were both kids.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Effie will time and time again endanger herself to protect those around her, wanting to be everyone's "shield."
* CuteBruiser: Contrary to her appearance, she's incredibly strong - to the point of easily shattering ''solid rock'' - and never misses training.
* CustomUniform: The armor she wears as a Knight and General is primarily dark pink with some yellow instead of the standard gray with blue/red.
* DamageReduction: Effie can get the "Pavise" skill if she Class Changes to General, or "Armored Blow" if she Class Changes to Great Knight. Pavise has a chance to halve damage from certain weapons (swords, lances, axes, Beaststones, monster/puppet weapons) when attacked, while Armored Blow reduces physical damage by 10 when she initiates combat.
* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: In her C-Support with Nyx, Effie tries to remove the lid of a pot for Nyx, but ends up ripping off the top part of the pot.
* DumbMuscle: Effie tends to believe that her strength can do absolutely illogical things; she tries to fix a jar that she tore the top half off of by forcing the pieces back together. She thought that putting cracks in a boulder would allow her to automatically tell someone's fortune, without even reading up on the fortunetelling techniques (and when it doesn't work, her first thought is to break ''more'' rocks). And she tries to make someone grow by trying to literally ''stretch them out by their head''. And that was just her supports with Nyx.
* {{Expy}}: She's one to Kjelle from ''Awakening'', with both of them being knights who are obsessed with training and growing stronger, but Effie is generally more easygoing and simple-minded than Kjelle was.
* {{Foil}}: To Hana. Both are female retainers who loyally serve the youngest royal sibling, who is their childhood friend. In their supports, Effie and Hana express admiration of each other's strength and speed, respectively, while also finding common ground in their loyalty to their princesses. However, Effie is markedly less feminine while Hana has a less balanced schedule and often forgets to eat.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Appropriately has a high STR stat and growth rate, on top of an ability that makes her do even more damage if her strength has enough of an edge over the opponent's.
* GlacierWaif: She has a fairly short character model, and, as noted below, she's surprisingly thin under all that armor. Nonetheless, she's still in the [[MightyGlacier Knight class]] by default.
* GreaterNeedThanMine: Effie will protect anyone who needs it with her own life, especially her friends and allies, and sometimes even sufficiently sympathetic enemies, without any regards to her own safety. In ''Revelation'', Azama pretty much calls her a MartyrWithoutACause for it, whereas Leo straight-up questions if she doesn't cherish her own life.
* HeroAntagonist: In ''Birthright'', she only fights the party over a misunderstanding, and will immediately side with them if it's cleared up.
* LadyOfWar: She's a feminine and very gentle young woman who may look fragile, but is a knight with incredible strength.
%%* LeotardOfPower: Enough ClothingDamage reveals she has one under all her armor.
* LovableJock: In the English dub, Effie is much more outspoken and overt about her physical prowess, but remains a kind and protective figure to her allies.
* LoveConfession:
-->''Nothing is stronger than my love for you... except my biceps.''
* LightningBruiser: Surprisingly for an armored unit, Effie has a relatively high Speed growth of 55%, which is the same as her Defense growth as well. Combined with her insane 80% Strength growth, and Effie can forgo using Wary Fighter and simply double most but the fastest of units with ease.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Despite having the strength and endurance to rival a transformed Wolfskin, her bare body is as slender and muscle free as every other female in the game.
* NiceGirl: She's very gentle and devoted to those she cares for, especially her lady-of-liege Elise.
* NoSell: In her C-support with Jakob, Effie completely shrugs off an attempted attack from Jakob when he tries to stop her from eating a cake. She's so unperturbed that she doesn't even stop eating.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Wears a full suit of pink armor, but she's quite powerful.
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"No more holding back!"''\
''"You asked for it!"''\
''"Time to say goodbye!"''\
''"Feel the burn!"''
%%* PrimAndProperBun: How she wears her hair.
* SelfMadeWoman: Like Arthur, she's a commoner who has worked her way up to become a retainer for the Nohrian royal family.
* StreetUrchin: Effie was a random peasant before making friends with Princess Elise and being inspired to become stronger, as detailed in their support chain.
* SuperStrength: She lifts a ''tree trunk'' in her supports with Keaton, crushes an apple with her bare hand in her C Support with Niles and other characters make it clear she's known for her amazing strength. And [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration appropriately, she's got an enormous Strength growth and cap to boot.]]
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to Hana's tomboy in the ''Revelation'' route. Reversed in the localization, with Effie clearing being more Tomboyish in comparison.
* UndyingLoyalty: Her greatest ambition is to serve as Elise's shield for life.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It's unclear what happens to her [[spoiler:after Elise's death]] if the player spares her in ''Birthright''.

->'''Class:''' Fighter (default), Hero (''Birthright'' and various DLC) \
'''Voiced by:''' Riki Kitazawa (Japanese), Creator/CamClarke (English)
----
* AffectionateParody: Arthur is pretty much a comedic Japanese take on American Silver Age comic book superheroes [[GenreRefugee transplanted into a]] StandardJapaneseFantasySetting. [[Administrivia/TropesAreNotBad Nonetheless]], despite his larger-than-life persona and [[ButtMonkey his own comedic mishaps]], the game never treats Arthur with anything but the utmost of respect, [[HopeBringer with him outright inspiring those he meets]].
* BananaPeel: One spontaneously appears in his path as he's carrying some heavy objects during his B-support with Felicia. Felicia wonders where it came from, since they don't have any bananas among their provisions.
* BattleCouple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Setsuna and Kagero in ''Revelation''.
* BarbaricBattleaxe: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. Arthur's preferred weapon is an axe, but he's a kind, morally-righteous champion of justice who fights to protect people. He has more in line with a knightly personality than otherwise.
* BecomingTheMask: His supports with Azura and Felicia reveal that underneath his LargeHam persona, Arthur is a genuienly down-to-earth and caring individual; part of the reason why he puts on the bravado is because it genuinely inspires those he meets, and eventually, it soon became his default persona to confront life's hardships.
* BirdsOfAFeather:
** He and [[spoiler:Setsuna]], in ''Revelation''. They go through lots of comical mishaps while trying to help others, and decide to help each other deal with it.
** Somewhat [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] compared to [[spoiler:Setsuna]], but in his supports with Felicia, Arthur interprets [[CuteClumsyGirl her clumsiness]] as being similar to some of the mishaps he gets into.
* BornUnlucky: Bad things randomly happen to him, such as (somehow) getting hit by a carriage 4 times in a row, being struck by lightning, or falling into holes. In a case of GameplayAndStoryIntegration, Arthur both has the ''lowest'' Luck stat and growth in the game.
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: His belt buckle is shaped like an "H". In his S support with the Female Corrin, it's revealed that it stands for "Hero".
-->'''Arthur:''' ... The "H" stands for "hero." It reminds me to always act humbly and heroically. Thank you, darling ''Corrin''. I can't wait to walk down the honorable road of justice with you at my side!
* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]], hard. He wields an axe like the rest of the Fighter class, but unlike the [[TheBigGuy usual]] kind [[BarbarianHero of portrayal]], Arthur is ''not'' brutish -- he is a [[NiceGuy kind]], [[IdealHero selfless]] [[ThePaladin champion of justice and order]], and [[GoodFeelsGood is proud of it]]. If anything, he has more in common character-wise with [[Characters/FireEmblemShadowDragonAndTheBladeOfLightPlayableCharacters Marth]] than any of the Fighter characters throughout the series!
* CantHoldHisLiquor: During the A support with Nyx, he tells about how he accidentally drank a glass of clear alcohol instead of water in one gulp. Not cognizant of his surroundings, instead of reaching for a breadstick, he accidentally takes a bite into Elise's hair.
* ChewingTheScenery: In the localization, his voice goes above and beyond LargeHam levels into this. Creator/CamClarke was clearly having a field day with Arthur's lines.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite being clumsy and with terrible luck, story-wise he survives a lot of normally deadly situations on a regular basis, and gameplay-wise can potentially become a very powerful unit if developed correctly.
* CosmicPlaything: If it involves probability, ''nothing'' will go right for Arthur. '''''Nothing.''''' That said, despite having an accursedly bad luck streak, he [[SubvertedTrope subverts]] the usual angst that comes with the territory by being [[ThePollyanna infallibly optimistic]] and [[TheDeterminator determined]] to do good in the world, which outright inspires those he meets. Heck, his solo endings even show his luck improving with age!
* CustomUniform: In addition to the red and blue color palette (which gets carried over to his default promotional tree), Arthur does not wear the {{stripperiffic}} variant of the Axe Fighter class: he wears a blue unitard underneath his armor, and he's also wearing a [[BroughtToYouByTheLetterS belt]], as mentioned above.
* {{Determinator}}: Despite constant atrocious luck that would crush a lesser man, Arthur's spirits remain indomitable. Stressed in his supports with Felicia, who finds his unwillingness to be weighed down by his constant misfortune incredibly inspiring, given [[CuteClumsyGirl her own problems with being a klutz]]. Part of this determination is even reflected in his stat-distribution; see SelfMadeMan for more details.
%%
%% For Eagleland to apply, the character has to actually be from the US or a Fantasy Culture Counterpart of it. Nohr takes inspiration from Medieval Europe with a dash of the Roman Empire.
%%
* {{Foil}}:
** To Subaki. Both are male retainers who serve the youngest royal sibling with different standards and expectations of themselves and others. In Arthur's case, he was born with incredibly bad luck but remains optimistic and accepting of his flaws, meanwhile Subaki is very hard on himself if he is any less than perfect. Furthermore, Arthur is a manly {{hunk}} while Subaki is a PrettyBoy.
** He can also be seen as a foil to Setsuna. Both are clumsy retainers to a royal sister who, though otherwise very capable, are [[TheChewToy cursed with]] [[CosmicPlaything cosmically]] [[BornUnlucky bad luck]] whenever they attempt anything trivial outside of combat. In ''Revelation'', their support chain is actually all about them bonding over their mutual, crazy misfortune. The difference though is that Setsuna is spacey and clumsy, whereas Arthur is just plain unlucky.
* ForgottenFirstMeeting: He met Azura when they were both very young, after she had escaped from Castle Krakenburg to get away from the abuse of the castle staff. While Azura remembers the event, she doesn't recognize him until he reveals that he was the boy that took the blame for her escape to prevent her from being punished.
* ForGreatJustice: Arthur believes himself to be the medieval equivalent of a superhero. His supports with [[spoiler:Azura]] state that this comes from his upbringing, since he studied martial arts ever since he was a child and as he grew up he realized that he ''liked'' protecting people and being their hero. He does however make it clear that he doesn't approve of vigilantism though, as it encourages people to take the law into their own hands for personal reasons like vengeance rather than breeding any respect for proper justice and order.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration:
** Not only does Arthur suffer from a streak of bad luck in-story, he also has a terrible Luck stat with poor Luck growth to go. His Personal Skill, Misfortunate, [[TheJinx has all enemy units within two tiles have their Critical Evade reduced by -15]], with the trade-off of Arthur having -5 Critical Evade removed for himself.
** Befitting of a SelfMadeMan who went from a commoner into a royal retainer solely for his fighting prowess, and likely as a response to his accursed luck, Arthur has an extremely high Skill growth for his [[GlassCannon class]]. His natural Skill growth without class modifiers is at 55%, which with is default class pushes it up to a meaty 70%. Likewise, he also has a below-average Skill stat at first, which represents Arthur's tendency to clumsily spill or slip up due to his bad luck, but also his determination to overcome his misfortune and maneuver through life as carefully as possible. This gives [[FridgeBrilliance deeper reasoning why]] his canonical class is the Hero than the Berserker; they have a very high Skill cap, and lack the negative penalty to Critical Avoid that the latter class has.
* GenreRefugee: A homage to American comic book superheroes in a medieval fantasy JRPG. His character portrait in ''Heroes'' even reflects this, drawing him in a style more akin to '90s comic books with thick black outlines and impossible musculature.
* GlassCannon: Taken to extreme measures if promoted to a Berserker, already a glass cannon as a class, thanks to his passive lowering enemies chances of dodging a critical hit, but also increases his own.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He has blond hair, and is the most righteous man in all of Nohr.
* HandicappedBadass: [[ZigZaggedTrope A weird, atypical case]]. Arthur has no ''physical'' disabilities, but he's cursed with an [[CosmicPlaything almost-supernaturally]] bad streak of luck that always tries to hamper if not outright thwart his attempts at heroism, no matter wherever he goes. This doesn't stop him from kicking ass, of course, and he's skilled enough at fighting that he would go from [[RagsToRiches a commoner into one of the Nohrian royal's prized retainers and bodyguards]].
* HeroAntagonist: Puns aside, on the ''Birthright'' route he only fights the party because he thinks they've kidnapped Elise [[spoiler:and will be immediately convinced to side with them once Elise convinces him they didn't.]]
* HeroicBuild: If the player changes his clothes into a swimsuit, or sees him in the Hot Springs, it turns out he's '''really''' ripped.
* HiddenDepths: Despite being an AffectionateParody of Silver Age superheroes, Arthur shows a ''lot'' more nuance to his ideology that anyone would assume:
** [[ForGreatJustice Arthur is comically devoted to the idea of justice]], but he actually puts a fair amount of thought into its more subtle nuances. His Supports with Beruka display that he knows full well his sense of justice isn't naturally shared by everyone and denoting how his beliefs are based on what justice means to him personally. What carries him through is his confidence and faith in his convictions being righteous, as opposed to whether or not everyone everywhere necessarily agrees with him.
** You'd think his almost accursed luck would leave him incredibly sullen, but this man ''never'' [[{{Determinator}} lets it be an excuse from doing the right thing]]. Even more interesting is that he's come to terms with his bad luck, accepting it as another part of him that's as natural as any other of the quirks the other characters possess.
** His Supports with Azura and Felicia all but confirmed that [[LargeHam as hammy as Arthur acts]], a lot of it generally is for show and bravado; in reality, [[HumbleHero he's a very humble and down-to-earth person]] who does it because it brings hope to people, as by his own direct admission, justice is giving hope to people who aren't able to stand up for themselves.
* HopeBringer: His Supports with Azura and Felicia reveal that he's this to a lot of people, with his optimism and kindness being very much a ray of light in the darkness of [[DeathWorld Nohr]], even given his comical back luck. Arthur, while flattered, [[HumbleHero doesn't consider himself anything more than a soldier who just wants to help people]].
* HumbleHero: By his own admission, he ''really'' makes clear he doesn't let his superheroics get to his head, and just considers himself somebody [[HeroicSelfDeprecation who's a bit foolishly optimistic in the idea of justice]]. As HiddenDepths covers, he deliberately plays up his own hamminess to give morale to people who need it in their lives.
* IdealHero: Assuming one doesn't count his [[BornUnlucky comically bad luck]] as a flaw, Arthur is this, bar none. Despite his theatrics, is a noble and gentle soul who stands for what's right and is utterly selfless in his conviction to help others; he's already an extremely capable fighter, but some of his biggest Moments of Awesome come from his scenes outside of battle.
* IronButtMonkey: Some of the things his bad luck brings should leave him in a grave, or at the very least constantly in the infirmary. Yet somehow he soldiers on like it's a light rain [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction and can even casually talk about it with his comrades]].
* TheJinx: His ''Misfortunate'' trait makes his enemies suffer -15 Crit Evade, while he himself takes -5.
* LanternJawOfJustice: Naturally, his design boasts a rather prominent chin and jawline.
* LargeHam: He's very theatrical, frequently making grand statements about heroism and justice.
* LethalChef: Has the worst cook modifier "Reckless" which negates the effect of the dish but gives +2 random stats. Considering he's [[BornUnlucky unlucky]]...
* LifeDrain: Arthur can learn the "Sol" Skill if he Class Changes into Hero. It gives him a chance to heal for 50% of the damage he deals whenever he attacks.
* LightningBruiser: Arthur has high stats all around bar his [[LuckStat Luck]]. He can easily take hits and deal them back while also being fast enough to double attack a number of foes.
* LoveConfession:
-->''Your love is as sweet as the sweet, sweet smell of justice! I love you more than anything. But don't tell justice I said so.''
* ManlyTears: He cracks up and cries during his C and A supports with his son, Percy, after seeing how well Percy and Ace (Percy's wyvern) get along.
* MeaningfulName:
** Harold is an Old English name, from ''here'' "army" and ''weald'' "rule", meaning "heroic leader", same as the title herald. This leads credence to his character archetype of the stereotype, strong-jawed superhero of western culture.
** Arthur comes from the Roman clan name Artorius, meaning heroic or courageous. It could also come from the legend of the hero [[Myth/KingArthur Artur]] who pulled the sword Excalibur from its stone, as his son Percy is named after either the hero Perseus in [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Greek Mythology]] or the hero Percival/Parsifal who was one of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Tale.
* NiceGuy: Despite his unlucky moments, Arthur is an upbeat and friendly guy at heart. [[spoiler:He was even willing to get himself punished just to protect Azura back [[WiseBeyondTheirYears when he was a child/young teenager]].]]
* NotAMorningPerson: According to Percy's comments in the ''Ghostly Gold'' DLC, it can take Arthur a while to get up in the morning.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted in the overseas releases, where he shares his name with Tailtiu's son Arthur from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar''. Though his Japanese name is shared with a generic boss also in the same game.
* PlayingCyrano: In his supports with Camilla, Arthur offers to help her convey her feelings for Corrin. This being [[ButtMonkey Arthur]], HilarityEnsues. [[spoiler:It can potentially go into MatchmakerCrush territory if the whole support chain is pursued - and since Arthur doesn't reveal his feelings to Camilla until the S Support, [[ThrowTheDogABone this means]] she will accept his marriage proposal.]]
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"No more holding back!"''\
''"You're out of luck, friend!"''\
''"Justice strikes!"''\
''"Beware my fists of justice!"''
* ThePaladin: Arthur fights for justice and does the right thing because he feels it is the right thing to do. Paladin is also one of his reclassing options in-game. And unlike the [[LawfulStupid stereotype]] often associated with the Paladin character archetype, his overall supports go out of the way to show that, no, he isn't just a fool, and no, he shouldn't be disrespected just for being a 'goody-goody'.
-->'''Arthur:''' Justice means many things to many people. For me, it's a way of life. It's waking up before your friends to go on patrol... It's searching high and low to locate a lost child for their frantic parents... It's coming across an injured elderly person and becoming their legs for them... It's hearing a crying baby and crying with it until it calms down... It's jumping into a fight and turning angry fists into friendly handshakes... Justice is all these things, and so much more! That's what it means to ME, in any case.
* ThePollyanna: A RareMaleExample. Despite his absolutely atrocious streak of luck, he maintains relentless optimism and confidence in his actions and lives life to the fullest.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Considers himself a champion of justice and prominently wears red, blue, and silver/white, accented by his yellow blonde hair.
* SelfMadeMan: He was born a commoner, but his sheer fighting skills allowed him to become a retainer to the Nohrian royalty. This is even reflected in-game through GameplayAndStoryIntegration; he has a Skill growth rate of ''70%'', which is not only higher than his Strength growth rate, which gets a bigger boost from the Fighter class than his Skill growth rate, it is also one of the highest natural growths in the stat of any character in the game, and represents his sheer technical skill in combat rather than him relying on brute force or, heaven's forbid, luck. Which becomes FridgeBrilliance as well; of ''course'' someone with bad luck would seek to hone their skill instead.
* ShoutOut: One of his Private Quarters quotes is:
--> "It is an honor to spend time with a fellow friend of justice. We should form our own [[Comicbook/{{Justice League}} league]]!"
* StrongAndSkilled: Arthur has the typical high HP and Strength of his class, but what makes him unique is that all of his stats aside from Luck are up to par, with his Skill growth being some of the highest in the entire game. With a bit of [[StealthPun luck]], Arthur can become a terrifyingly effective LightningBruiser in the right hands.
* SmugSmiler: His big grin screams 'lots of self-confidence,' and he grins even wider when he's about to crit.
* TakingTheHeat: He did this for [[spoiler:Azura]] in the past, as revealed in their supports. [[spoiler:A very young Arthur who already was working for the Nohrian royal family spotted an even younger Azura in the streets and, having realised that she had run away after being abused by Garon's concubines, lied about having taken her away and [[ATasteOfTheLash was whipped]] on the spot as a punishment.]]
* ThrowTheDogABone: [[spoiler:According to his solo ending in ''Conquest'', rumor had it that Arthur's luck managed to increase in his old age. His married ending also states his luck increased slightly after the war.]]
* UnluckilyLucky: One would think the gods hate him with his awful luck, but this man survived multiple events that by all rights should have killed him. He gets regularly struck by lightning, falls off of ravines, hit by carriages and mistaken for bandits at every turn, yet he frequently gets just enough leeway to survive it by the skin of his teeth. He's unquestionably cursed at every turn by bad luck, make no mistake, but the gods seem to [[ItAmusedMe find his suffering far too amusing to kill him outright]]:
** In his A-Support with Corrin; Arthur is elected to do a fire drill for a nearby village and Corrin, being appropriately GenreSavvy, advises he douse himself in water [[ManOnFire to be on the safe side]]. Arthur remembers to soak up in water... only to slip on the mud and fall face-first into the water, when it rained the night before and was full of debris washed in by the rainfall. Regardless, Arthur somehow swam back to shore to a ''round of applause,'' it apparently being the best show they'd seen in years. Even when the gods apparently curse him, they can't help but bless him at the same time.
** He may be personally hit with bad luck but ''others'' can use this to their advantage and reap benefits. i.e., when he's carrying freshly purchased fish with Selena, he gets hit by lightning... with the side-effect that the fish are ''somehow'' perfectly cooked by the same bolt, so the two end up having a delicious feast.
** His status as UnluckilyLucky is [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration reflected somewhat in story]]: Arthur is amongst the few characters in ''Conquest'' that merely retreat than outright die in the game's [[{{Permadeath}} Classic mode]], and even in ''Birthright'' where it's possible for him to die, he's one of the few Nohrian characters who can survive the entire route if [[TheHero Corrin]] talks to him first. And even ''then,'' if Arthur's defeated by an enemy unit during his retreat, there isn't even a death quote to begin with, which implies he never truly died to begin with. The only time he could even ''possibly'' croak aside from ''Birthright'' is in ''[[DownloadableContent Heirs of Fate]]'', which even then, is a [[BadFuture bad timeline]] where ''everyone'' but Corrin died trying to fight Anankos, and that presumably took an outright ''god'' to kill him!
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Like with Effie, it's unclear what happens to him [[spoiler:after Elise's death]] if he's spared in ''Birthright''.

** [[spoiler:Played with but ultimately subverted in ''Conquest'', being closer to an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove; Flora doesn't have her words cut off and tells Jakob he was the reason she endured living a forced live as a Servant, but ultimately can't bring herself to say the words proper - but unlike in ''Birthright'', Jakob not only heard every word but it's implied he realized what it was she wanted to say.]]
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: She is very much in love with Jakob. Since they can't support, her feelings are never returned. [[spoiler:''Conquest'' drives it home further, as it's the only route that Jakob seems to realize Flora's feelings for him, yet it doesn't change their standing]].
* ApologizesALot: Flora has a habit of this, as seen in her supports with Corrin and her dialogue in-game.
* BattleCouple: Only with the Male Corrin, if she's either recruited or unlocked.
* BreakTheCutie: In ''Birthright'', [[spoiler:her father attempts to rebel against King Garon, and is swiftly dealt with and executed. Flora and the rest of the surviving Ice Tribe pledge their loyalty to Garon out of fear. After news is received that Corrin has defected to Hoshido, Garon orders Flora to take responsibility and kill Corrin herself, lest her whole tribe be slaughtered. When Flora hesitates to give an answer, Garon grows impatient and tells her to die then and there if she cannot make the choice. Pressured and fearing for her life, Flora chooses to betray Corrin -- a choice which later causes her so much shame that she is DrivenToSuicide.]]
* BrokenBird: Her kinship dialogue, support with the Female Corrin, and her boss conversation with Jakob all imply that she's long since given up on her own happiness.
* CainAndAbel: Downplayed.
** In the Birthright route, [[spoiler:Felicia joins Hoshido, while her sister Flora is coerced into fighting for Nohr. Even though the latter is an antagonist, she still deeply regrets her actions, and is ultimately DrivenToSuicide as a result.]]
** In''Conquest'', after Elise blows Corrin's cover by outright saying that she and Corrin were at the Ice Tribe's land to suppress their rebellion, Flora and her father, Kilma, attempt to kill Corrin and their army (including Felicia). Corrin's display of mercy turns them both into allies, though.
** In ''Revelation'', Garon orders Flora to kill Corrin and their army alongside Camilla, threatening to destroy the Ice Tribe and kill her father if she doesn't. Much like in ''Conquest'', she pulls a HeelFaceTurn.
* CombatMedic: As a Maid, she can fight with knives and shuriken, and heal with staves.
* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'', the daughter of the Ice Tribe's chief with ice powers commits suicide by SelfImmolation.]]
* DeathSeeker: [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'', she thanks the party for stopping her when they defeat her during her betrayal, suggesting that she never intended to win, and ''wanted'' to be killed in battle to avoid harming her friends and Felicia. Since Corrin is unwilling to kill Flora, it instead [[DrivenToSuicide forces her own hand.]] Even in ''Conquest'', she urges Corrin's group to finish her off when they subdue her, rebuking them for showing her mercy.]]
* {{Expy}}: To [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Cordelia]]. Although Cordelia's actual design, starting class and perfectionism went to Subaki and Caeldori, Flora got all of her other traits, such as her lack of self-esteem, her unrequited love, and the ability to reclass into a Mercenary or Dark Mage. The similarities are further enhanced by the fact they share the same English voice actress, Julie Ann Taylor.
* FalseFriend: It's implied in ''Conquest'' that Flora never truly cared for Corrin during their time in the castle, as she was being held as a political prisoner. In ''Birthright'', Flora lashes out at Corrin during their battle dialogue, exclaiming that [[HiddenDisdainReveal they do not even know her real self]]. [[spoiler:Crosses into {{Irony}} territory, in that Flora actually felt ''terrible'' about attacking Corrin in both ''Birthright'' and ''Revelation'' as their turning on Garon made her realize they were more alike than she thought, as well as in ''Conquest'' where Corrin's merciful actions and lack of blood ties to Garon shock her due to presuming all Nohrian royals were amoral and only cared about blood family. In any case, Flora realizes that faking her friendship meant that, since she never truly knew them either, her hate of them was based on false preconceptions, leading to her desiring repentance - in ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' she swears loyalty to them properly, while in ''Birthright'' she commits suicide out of guilt and shame]].
* TheFettered: Perhaps owing to being the daughter of the tribe chief, and in contrast to Felicia, who gladly follows her heart, she is quite proud and responsible in adhering to whatever duties may fall on her shoulders, placing them above her own personal desires and emotions. This can range from devoting herself wholly to serving Corrin to the point of frequently exhausting herself, to [[spoiler:fighting against close friends and family in order to protect her village. Subverted if Corrin marries her, as she abandons her duties to the Ice Tribe and leaves them to finally pursue her own happiness.]]
* {{Foil}}: To her twin Felicia, as she's the better maid but Felicia's the better fighter. [[spoiler:Felicia also stays with Corrin, no matter what, while Flora's sense of duty to her father and the Ice Tribe compels her to leave Corrin's side.]]
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The Responsible to Felicia's Foolish, being a more competent maid.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: While the story claims that Felicia is a more adept weapon user than Flora, this is not the case in gameplay. Felicia's growths are more slanted toward being a FragileSpeedster and a SquishyWizard, while Flora is a JackOfAllStats and more physically oriented than Felicia, making her better suited for handling weapons. Though it's potentially [[JustifiedTrope justified]] since Felicia hates fighting, preferring to train her maid skills.
* GildedCage: She was kidnapped along with her sister from their home to be held as a political hostage by Nohr. She's clearly bitterly resentful of this, and states that she would have tried to escape from captivity, but stayed because of her crush on Jakob.
* GirlishPigtails: Despite being the more mature sister, her hair style makes her look younger and more childish.
* GreenEyedMonster: She is mentioned to have the "most powerful jealousy," most likely due to her father's parental favoritism toward Felicia. [[spoiler:Their supports expound on this further, in which Flora outright confesses to being envious of how much a gifted prodigy Felicia was in combat - especially since Felicia hated fighting and preferred to domestic duties, while Flora was the better maid but wanted to be a greater combatant]].
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: She has grave self-esteem and anxiety issues, and does not value her own life. [[spoiler:In her S-support with a male Corrin, as well as her A-support with Felicia, it's revealed that her self-esteem issues stem from her ineptitude at fighting, and that the reason why she tries so hard at being a capable maid is because it gives her confidence. When it appears Corrin is dismissing her from her job, she has a mild breakdown and states that if she were to quit being a maid, her life would have no meaning.]]
* HonorBeforeReason: [[spoiler:Unlike Ryoma in ''Conquest'', who does this out of a combination of this and BigBrotherInstinct, this is the only reason behind her self-immolation suicide in ''Birthright''.]]
* AnIcePerson:
** Like Felicia, as the daughter of the Ice Tribe's chief, Flora has some control over ice magic. Her [[CounterAttack personal skill]] is basically her blood is so cold, it damages the enemies who spilled it. At her greatest potential, she is capable of freezing a chunk of the ocean, as seen in the ''Revelation'' route.
** Additionally, her emotions also seem to affect her powers. During her S Support with Corrin, Flora suffers a case of PowerIncontinence after he confesses to her, with her causing a blizzard to rapidly form around them.
* InsecureLoveInterest: [[SharedFamilyQuirks Like her sister]], she shows signs of this in her S-support with the Male Corrin.
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler:Because Corrin is royalty, she presumes their NiceGuy behavior is either a falsehood or the result of ignorance rather than genuine kindheartedness, and may berate Corrin during their fights about having never bothered to learn who she really was. However, not only does she learn in all routes that Corrin's actually the one person who'd really understand her, but her being just as assumptive as she accused them to be causes issue for her Tribe:]]
** [[spoiler:In ''Conquest'', after learning Corrin was adopted by the Nohrians - or rather, that they love their siblings regardless of blood ties - and seeing them spare the Ice Tribe any deaths, she realizes that her never truly bonding with them means ''she'' was just as much guilty of never learning who Corrin was as a person. She's even taken aback when Corrin brings up the times she was there for them, too touched by their trust to even admit it had been a ruse back then and swearing the fealty to them that she'd withheld before]].
** [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'', after learning Corrin was actually a Hoshidan royal and turned against Garon, she becomes deeply ashamed of hiding her true feelings and beliefs from them as they ended up being more similar than she thought possible. Her FalseFriend guise backfires as it kept Corrin from knowing about or helping her tribe's suffering, resulting in her father Kilma dying in his failed uprising and Flora being forced to fight against Corrin when she no longer hates them - which ultimately drives her to suicide from guilt and shame]].
** [[spoiler:In ''Revelation'', Flora's HiddenAgenda from Corrin means that, by the time she learns Corrin is a renegade from both kingdoms and requires allies in stopping the war between nations, the Ice Tribe has already gone to ground to avoid Garon's wrath when they might have been able to lend aid had they known. Instead, Flora is captured and sent alongside Camilla to kill Corrin when she no longer has any real reason to despise them]].
* IWillPunishYourFriendForYourFailure: [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'' and ''Revelation'', she is forced to fight Corrin as refusing to do so will result in Garon destroying the Ice Tribe (or what's left it in the former route, since in that path it's lost a good deal of it's members).]]
* LastGirlWins: In both the ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' routes, she is the last woman to join the party, and thus has a claim to this if she romances the male Corrin.
* LoveConfession:
-->''It's just wonderful to finally know how you feel! So, please please always stay with me!''
* MutualEnvy: While Flora is jealous of Felicia for being a superior fighter than her, Felicia is jealous of Flora's superior skills as a maid.
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: She can never be in the party alongside either Yukimura (who only joins in ‘’Birthright’’) or [[spoiler: Scarlet (who dies in both ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'', and her brief stint in the latter route ends before Flora is made available to recruit).]]
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"Freeze!"''\
''"I've been practicing this!"''\
''"Service with a smile!"''\
''"You leave me no choice!"''
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: The Ice Tribe are known to be a proud clan of warriors, with children being taught to wield weapons from an early age. That she was lacking in this area in comparison to her sister left deep-seated emotions in her.
* PutOnABus:
** In ''Conquest'', after the Ice Tribe's rebellion is put down by Corrin's army in Chapter 8, she and her father (along with the rest of the Ice Tribe) are both spared and she stays with the Ice Tribe after Corrin leaves (though she can be recruited later).
** In ''Revelation'', she goes into hiding with the Ice Tribe after she and Camilla's forces are defeated in Chapter 12, though you can recruit her later.
* PsychoactivePowers: She stirs up snowstorms when she's stressed or when her emotions are [[{{Irony}} running hot]]. Felicia has the skill too, but Flora shows it more often because she has a lot more baggage on her.
* PungeonMaster: For one so serious, Flora makes a ''lot'' of ice related puns in her quotes. Not [[Film/BatmanAndRobin 1997 Mr. Freeze]] levels, but still ''very'' notable.
* SecondLove: The Male Corrin will become this to her, should they get married, though as her ''Spooky Scramble'' conversation with Jakob exists regardless of her marital status, she never gets over her FirstLove, although we might chalk that one up to GameplayAndStorySegregation.
* SecretCharacter: She can only be recruited in ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' once certain criteria are fulfilled. She'll join the player's army after the Fire Orb, Launcher, or Ballista at My Castle is upgraded to Level 3 and player completes a map.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: As it turns out, despite mostly being PolarOppositeTwins ([[AnIcePerson please excuse the pun]]), Flora and Felicia ''both'' turn out to be {{Insecure Love Interest}}s in their S Support with Corrin, with both getting incredibly flustered and having essentially a moment of "ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe" in their respective S Supports.
* SiblingTeam: Can be this with Felicia on the ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' routes.
* SnowMeansDeath: [[spoiler:In ''Birthright'', though she dies via SelfImmolation, it's in a snowy place.]]
* SnowMeansLove: Should she obtain an S rank Support with Corrin, her powers end up causing a blizzard around the two as she accepts his marriage proposal.
* StepfordSmiler: Underneath her capable and professional exterior, she is a deeply insecure and troubled individual.
* SupremeChef: Gameplay wise, unlike her sister, if you make her the chef in the restaurant, the stuff she cooks boost all of your characters' stats (+1 for all stats, additional +1 for random stat) for the next battle. She is in the same cooking category (Delicious) as Mitama, Mozu, Dwyer, and Caeldori.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Because she is the daughter of the chief and thus has a duty to protect her people, Flora always chooses to side with her tribe over Corrin and Felicia when they come into conflict, never mind her little sister Felicia's pleas and her own desires. In ''Birthright'', this, coupled with the execution of her father and Corrin not being the UngratefulBastard she thought they'd be, breaks her enough on the inside that [[spoiler:she kills herself]].
* UndyingLoyalty: At first, she's the only character in her circle of acquaintances who isn't devoted to their utmost to Corrin. When Jakob tries to point out that she's renounced her vow of loyalty by betraying them in ''Conquest'', Flora shoots back that she never swore loyalty to Corrin in the first place, only being made to serve them due to being a prisoner. After Corrin proves how much they care for her when they go out of their way to avoid harming her and the other Ice tribe members in their battle, Flora is so touched she insists on retaking her vow of loyalty, and from then on truly devotes herself to Corrin.
* TheUnfavorite: Because she wasn't as competent as Felicia when it came to handling weapons, their father praised only Felicia, which made Flora detest weapon training.
* UnrequitedLoveLastsForever: Her battle dialogue with Jakob on both routes imply that she has been harboring love for him for a long time. Unfortunately, Jakob appears to be completely oblivious to her feelings in ''Birthright'' and ''Revelation'' - worse, ''Conquest'' shows him seemingly realize Flora's feelings but turn out not to share them. There's nothing the player can do about it either, since they can't support - even if she marries the Male Corrin, the ''Spooky Scramble'' DLC implies she ''still'' isn't over him.
* XanatosGambit: In ''Revelation'', Garon orders Flora to assist Camilla in killing Corrin, threatening to destroy the Ice Tribe and kill her father if she refuses. When she returns to her village to prepare for the assault, she asks her father and the other villagers to secretly evacuate the village and go into hiding, ensuring their safety regardless of whether she succeeds or fails in the attack. This ends up working out to everyone's favor, as Corrin's mercy for her allows her to return to her tribe to assist in their resettlement, and later on join Corrin's army.
* YankTheDogsChain: She ''finally'' gets a conversation with Jakob in the ''Spooky Scramble'' DLC, where it appears Jakob has become aware of her feelings for him... only for it to turn out to be a complete misunderstanding, much to [[MistakenDeclarationOfLove Flora's own embarrassment]]. Ultimately, while Jakob admits to respecting and liking her quite a bit platonically, their relationship and Flora's feelings for him remain unresolved.

A shaman who lives in the Kingdom of Nohr, and one of the few optional units that can be recruited. Contrary to her young appearance, she is incredibly mature. She’s calm and peaceful and doesn’t involve herself with others more than necessary. Though she is an incredibly talented shaman, she lives a quiet life as a fortune teller despite being within an unstable society. When it comes to giving out gifts, hers are the best. Her birthday is February 17th.

----
* ACupAngst: Played [[DeconstructedTrope a bit more seriously than usual.]] Many of Nyx's supports have her express displeasure and quite a bit of low self-esteem because of her younger-looking body.
* TheAloner: She lived in solitude before meeting Corrin's group, having no friends or loved ones. Even after being recruited, Nyx still prefers to be left alone.
* {{Arcadia}}: Decides to live a simple quiet life, despite her magical potential.
* TheAtoner: She's done quite a bit of shady things that she now tries to make up for. Her supports show that part of the reason she hasn't tried to break her curse is because she believes she deserves it for what she's done.
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus the Hoshidans Subaki and Hayato in ''Revelation''.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and Xander bond over their mutual desire for atonement over all the people they've killed.
* {{Bookworm}}: Her favorite hobby is reading, and she owns a huge library of books.
* BornUnlucky: Nyx had a genuinely awful life, being a former monster who was cursed at a young age to never grow old and generally grew into a bitter and wizened young woman. [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration Fittingly]], she has one of the lowest Luck stats in the game at a palsy 20%, typing with Kaze and Fuga for the second lowest in the game behind Reina and Arthur.
* CastingAShadow: She can use dark magic as a Dark Mage or Sorcerer.
* ChildProdigy: Even as a child, she was very skilled at using the dark arts.
* CovertPervert:
** In her C support with Kaze, Nyx accidentally outs the fact that she reads romance novels, and when pressed on it, she gets flustered and leaves. Further hinted by how reluctant she is to let him borrow them after he keeps asking.
** In her Hoshidan Festival of Bonds conversation with Nina, she admits to having serious fantasies like her.
** Also, if she marries Niles, Nyx admits that she actually likes his dirty talk, in spite of having scolded him for it earlier.
* {{Curse}}: She's actually [[OlderThanTheyLook a lot older than she appears]], but still appears young due to a curse she inflicted onto herself by accident. [[spoiler:Her A Support with Odin finally reveals a more detailed picture; while practicing forbidden magic, Nyx lost control of a spell that not only resulted in the deaths of an entire village but [[LifeDrain transferred their life-force to her]]. The rejuvenating effects of absorbing so much life subsequently stunted her physical development, leaving her stuck with body of a young girl. In ''Fire Emblem Heroes'', Henry and Tharja speculate that the curse itself may have actually been brought on by Nyx's own subconscious trying to stop herself from going too far]].
* DarkMagicalGirl: Nyx can be easily seen as one of these. She used to be a mix of EnfanteTerrible and ChildProdigy in regards to magic, and a punishment she was given an unbreakable curse that [[NotAllowedToGrowUp stunted her physical growth]]. As a result, Nyx is an adult woman trapped in a young girl's body and has severe issues about it: she can barely interact with people and buries herself in books, can't bond with others easily in any sense, has self-worth issues [[ACupAngst regarding her "childlike" body]], and believes that she'll never be able to have a family that loves her. So once she's recruited in ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'', her supports tend to be about her [[CharacterDevelopment learning to value not only others, but herself as well.]] [[spoiler:And ''very'' unsurprisingly, in ''Revelation'' she can be the mother of Rhajat, who is ''also'' a DarkMagicalGirl.]]
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of the series OlderThanTheyLook characters. Like characters from previous games such as [[VideoGame/FireEmblemShadowDragon Tiki]] and [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Nowi]], Nyx is a young looking girl who is actually older then she appears. However, unlike previous characters who fall into this trope, Nyx is genuinely bitter about how she looks so young because she used to be a normal person, but due to an incident in her past was cursed to remain in the body of a teenager potentially forever, causing her to shut herself off from others out of shame. She expresses disdain for how she'll never be able to grow up, and will be seen by everyone as a child despite being old enough to be some of the cast's grandparent, and her supports all struggle with her opening up to people out of shame in her appearance. It takes a lot for her to accept friendship between people, and in order for one to romance her, they essentially have to invoke JustTheWayYouAre for her to accept them into her life.
* ElementalPowers: Able to wield magic tomes.
* EnfantTerrible: Back when she was younger. She was very arrogant about her skill with magic and would test her spells on innocent people for fun, even killing them.
* FacialMarkings: Nyx has three wisp-like markings on her face, one on her forehead, and one on each of her cheeks. According to her My Room quotes, they help reflect curses.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Hoshido's Hayato. Both are young prodigal magic users. While Hayato attempts to act like an adult to get attention, Nyx is an actual adult who appears very young due to a curse. One can support Nyx and Hayato together in the ''Revelation'' route, which reveals they aren't so different.
** Also to Orochi. Nyx notes that despite both being spellcasters, they are complete opposites. Nyx looks like a teen but is very mature and a loner, Orochi meanwhile looks her age, but is a childish prankster who seeks attention.
* FortuneTeller: Her day job is to tell people's fortunes, at least until she's recruited.
* ForWantOfANail: She's the only Nohrian character who doesn't ever make an appearance in ''Birthright'' as, without Corrin having any ties to Nohr anymore, she never meets them, never connects with them and therefore has no reason to care about the war between nations.
* FriendlyRival: Mostly one-sided on Orochi's side, but Nyx does find a kinship between them through Orochi's desire to see which of them is the better sorceress.
* GlassCannon: She has one of the highest magic growths in the game and a respectable speed growth, but has absolutely pitiful HP and defense. Made even worse by her middling skill growths, meaning that without Heartseeker, a forged weapon, or several tonics and [[RareCandy Secret Books]], her accuracy is shaky at best. She does come equipped with Heartseeker, [[DeathOrGloryAttack but you better hope she kills her target in one hit]].
* HeroicNeutral: Unlike most of the army, Nyx isn't motivated by loyalty or good-will and would much rather keep to herself. She only joins out of self-preservation. Because of this, Nyx is the only Nohrian playable character who doesn't even appear on the ''Birthright'' route, as [[ForWantOfANail without having met Corrin, she would have had no reason to join the Nohrian army in the first place]].
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: After her long life of sins and failures (perceived or otherwise), Nyx has abysmal self-esteem. No matter what good she does, she often refers to herself as a horrible person and makes jabs at her own childish appearance.
* HiddenDepths: Despite her stern, reclusive nature, Nyx is an avid reader of romance novels. She keeps her collection a secret among her vast library and is very embarrassed when Kaze finds out.
* HopeIsScary: Played with; in her supports with Corrin, Nyx is revealed to still hold a sliver of hope towards breaking her curse and eventually living a normal life. But she is simultaneously crippled by the belief she'll either fail and be disappointed for getting her hopes up, or even that, if a cure for her state does exist, she doesn't deserve to use it.
* AnIcePerson: She starts off with a Fimbulvetr tome in ''Conquest''.
* ImNotPretty: Nyx has severe body-image issues, and believes that no man would ever love someone as childish-looking as she is.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: Nyx's desire to be accepted is a recurring theme for her. She deeply wants to marry and have a family, but her younger-looking appearance and the self-esteem problems coming from that put quite a damper on such a wish.
* JustTheWayYouAre: Several of her S-support have her partner telling her they don't care about the abnormally young, "unsightly" [[ImNotPretty body that bothers her so much]].
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Calm and mature, she can wield magic tomes as a Dark Mage.
* LifeDrain:
** Can learn Lifetaker if promoted to Dark Knight.
** [[spoiler:Her and Odin's supports reveal that there's a rumor her curse of perpetual youth was the result of this; according tro the story, a spell she was casting went out of control and took the lives of an entire village, the subsequent influx of life-force effectively rendering her unable to physically age]].
* LoveConfession:
-->''Somehow you always saw who I really was behind my veil of darkness... I had forgotten what love felt like. But this is it...this is love. Thank you.''
* MagicKnight: If she is promoted to Dark Knight, she can use swords alongside magic.
* MysteriousPast: She does not like to talk about her past, though she hints that she was very cruel in her youth and would inflict curses on innocent people and torment whole villages. Due to her past actions, Nyx thinks it's best that she be kept as far from society as possible. [[spoiler:In his A Support with her, Odin informs her of a story he heard that the curse that keeps her young was because she'd accidentally absorbed the collective life-force of an entire village when one of her spells backfired; after a pause, Nyx claims the story is true]].
* NotGrowingUpSucks: Her body cannot grow older due to a curse she accidentally inflicted on herself an unknown amount of years before the story.
* OddFriendship: Has one [[http://professor-tammi.tumblr.com/post/122349212242/nyx-charlotte-support-translation with Charlotte]]. Despite how different they are, Nyx comes to appreciate Charlotte's attempts at helping her.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Nyx has very young appearance, but she's actually much older than most other characters. She was born many years before Corrin, but her body has not aged due to a curse.
* OverratedAndUnderleveled: Being a character who is supposed to be both a magical prodigy and far, far older than her physical appearance may suggest, you'd expect Nyx to be quite a bit more powerful when she first joins than a level 9 Dark Mage.
* PerpetualFrowner: She's rarely seen smiling, being quite world-worn and bitter.
* PlayingWithFire: She starts off with a Fire tome in both ''Conquest'' and in ''Revelation''.
* PreMortemOneLiner
-->''"I'll show you the meaning of fear!"''\
''"So young, so foolish!"''\
''"Good night, lost child!"''\
''"Prepare to leave this realm!"''
* ReadingIsCoolAesop: Mozu thinks Nyx is very mature and cool because she reads huge books all the time.
* SchrodingersPlayerCharacter: Unlike every other ''Conquest'' character, Nyx is completely absent from ''Birthright'', likely due to her [[TheAloner seclusion]] not causing her to be involved.
* TheSnarkKnight: She's very sarcastic and bitter when speaking to people, and has a negative opinion on the world at large.
* SourOutsideSadInside: Nyx tends to be abrasive, if not outright hostile, to most others, but she's got a lot of inner angst that she tries to hide behind it. Despite this, there are a few people that Nyx is nicer to, namely Arthur, Silas, Mozu, Hayato, Leo, Xander, Effie and Benny.
* SpellBook: In ''Heroes'' she gains Ginnungagap, where it gives her +3 Speed, and if she is at 25% HP or above at the start of combat she gains +6 Attack and Speed during combat as well as also reducing damage taken from the first attack she receives during combat by 40% and allows her to deal damage equal to the amount of damage reduced for her next attack until the end of combat if either she inititiates combat or her foe wields a Tome or Staff weapon and they initiate combat.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Her battle quotes make her appear quite ruthless towards her enemies, though it's subverted in that Nyx is OlderThanTheyLook. Played straight when she was an actual child, as she would arrogantly abuse her curses on others, even killing without remorse.
* TokenMiniMoe: [[DeconstructedTrope Much to her displeasure]], Nyx is one of the smallest and youngest characters in the game. She takes almost no enjoyment from this [[NotGrowingUpSucks due to the curse robbing her of her ability to grow up]], given her an intense sense of body dysmorphia from it. Only reason why she's not a straight-laced example of this is that [[OlderThanTheyLook Nyx is a lot older than she appears]].
* UnderwearOfPower: Besides the see-through/shear spandex and veil, she wears the Dark Mage attire, which consists of only panties and a bra.
* TheUnfought: Is the only playable character to never be fought. For all intents and purposes, she does not exist on the ''Birthright'' path. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] - her backstory does not place her in Corrin's path since they don't return to Nohr's inner lands in ''Birthright'' until the full-on invasion of the capital, during which time Nyx has likely cleared out.
* TheUnreveal: We never get to see what her body is supposed to look like.
* WickedWitch: She was a child-version of one in the past, happily testing her black magic on innocent villages. She still sees herself as such even though she's no longer that way mentally.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: {{Subverted|Trope}}. While she appears to be a young girl with knowledge and maturity far beyond her age, [[OlderThanTheyLook she's actually older than most of the army]] due to a curse that prevents her body from aging.

->''"I'm a delicate flower, but I know how to battle."''

An axe Fighter who is only an ally in the ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' campaigns. She looks like a pure-hearted girl who treats everyone with kindness, but it's just a carefully calculated act in order to get men to spoil her in the hopes she'll marry into wealth. Her true personality is crude, and she enjoys throwing herself head-first into every battle. The most cynical person in the entire army. Her birthday is May 4th.

->'''Class:''' Fighter\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AiShimizu (Japanese), Creator/BriannaKnickerbocker (English)
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: She was bullied as a kid for being too tomboyish for her gender.
* BadassAdorable: Zig-zagged. She's outwardly very attractive and tries to present herself as an attractive and pure-hearted "delicate flower" who can also fight if need be, while in reality she's actually a deadly, manipulative, and aggressive Fighter. On the other hand, she's a [[HiddenDepths hidden]] NiceGirl who believes that people only want to see what's in front of them, [[KidsAreCruel and given her backstory]], [[FreudianExcuse it isn't entirely unjustified.]]
* BarbaricBattleaxe: Once you get past her [[TheFakeCutie persona]], she reveals herself as this; she's a coarse BloodKnight who loves the thrill of combat and fights with an axe as her choice of weapon. Bonus points for promoting into the {{Berserker}} class, where she's likely to get many criticals with it.
* BareFistedMonk: Her supports with Xander reveal that she is actually extremely proficient at hand-to-hand combat and doesn't need a weapon ''at all''--the only reason she uses one is because [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon men would find her too intimidating if she fought using only her fists]].
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: She wears a [[ChainmailBikini revealing armor piece]] that leaves her midriff exposed, as she'd rather emphasize her feminine features than worry about having sensible armor.
* BattleCouple: Can marry a Male Corrin, Kaze, Jakob, Silas and any Nohrian guys (save for Gunter), plus the Hoshidans Kaden and Saizo in ''Revelation''.
* TheBerserker: Not only Berserker one of her possible class promotions, her true character is like that as well.
* BeYourself: Ultimately the [[AnAesop Aesop]] of her character arc. After being mocked and bullied for [[TheLadette her true self]] as a kid, she finally realizes that there's no need to be afraid of being herself, especially when her S-Rank partner loves her just for who she is.
* BigBreastPride: She's proud of being well-endowed and deliberately wears an outfit that emphasizes her cleavage to attract potential suitors.
-->'''Charlotte:''' ''[explaining how she "[[UnusualEuphemism kills]]" men]'' You need to [[CleavageWindow wear clothes with an open chest]]. Men will fall to that instantly.\
'''Beruka:''' ...That's all?\
'''Charlotte:''' Yes. That's more than enough to kill most men.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She looks and acts cute and demure, but in reality she's crude and manipulates people for her own gain. [[spoiler:This, unfortunately, was the result of being bullied as a child for possessing "unfeminine" hobbies, which made her believe that [[HumansAreBastards people only want to see what's in front of them.]] It takes three supports and an S-rank with Corrin, Xander, Leo and others for her to see otherwise.]]
* BlatantLies: Hilariously enough, when she tries to leave Kaze during their B-Support:
-->'''Charlotte:''' I have to go. I left an excuse in the oven!
* BloodKnight: Charlotte ''loves'' the thrill of battle and wears the most [[SlasherSmile devilish grin]] when she's about to bring her axe down on an enemy.
* BodyguardingABadass: In her supports with Arthur she asks him to guard her on the battlefield on the grounds of her being delicate and in need of protection -- this in spite of her not being either of those things, which Arthur gradually picks up on and [[LampshadeHanging points out]].
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: [[GenderFlip Gender]] [[InvertedTrope flipped]]. [[spoiler:Charlotte is revealed as a very cynical person overall, and by extension of her being noted [[AllThereInTheManual in the support roster]] as ''the'' most cynical person in the entire army, the vast majority of marriageable males available to her will be the "Gentle Boy" to Charlotte's "Brooding Girl" by default. Standout examples are [[AllLovingHero Male]] [[TheWisePrince Corrin]], [[LittleBitBeastly Kaden]], [[ChivalrousPervert Laslow]], [[{{Chunnibiyou}} Odin]], [[GenreRefugee Arthur]], [[KnightInShiningArmor Xander]], [[KnightInSourArmor Leo]] and ''especially'' [[GentleGiant Benny]]. As a matter of fact, she and Benny fit as this trope in a non-romantic context, given both are revealed to be friends due to their similar jobs.]]
* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: DoubleSubverted. She ''seems'' like a dainty and sweet girl with an uncharacteristically large axe... but in truth, she's a [[TheFakeCutie secretly crude woman]] who [[BloodKnight loves the thrill of battle]].
* BuxomBeautyStandard: Her large breasts are one of her biggest assets in her [[GoldDigger quest to catch a worthy suitor]], as she boasts the very sight of them is enough to cause most men to fall for her.
* CleavageWindow: The top half of her ChainmailBikini has an opening to show off her large breasts. Implied in Beruka's Supports to be deliberate in order to get the attention of potential suitors.
* ChainmailBikini: Hers actually looks like plate armor rather than chain, but then it doesn't cover much. This isn't that unrealistic however, since her defense stat is rather low.
* CustomUniform: The aforementioned ChainmailBikini that serves as her Fighter uniform, as the default female version covers more on top. Her uniform's white/light blue color palette is used for her Berserker promotion as well.
* TheCynic: She has a ''very'' low opinion of people and the world, believing most only value appearances over what's inside and that everyone is out for themselves. [[spoiler:This is because [[FreudianExcuse she was bullied mercilessly as a kid]] for her [[TheLadette Ladette]] personality, with nobody caring for her but her [[GoodParents godsend parents]]. When she became a soldier to capitalize on her fighting skill, her Ladette aspects again got her ridicule at worst and drove people away at best. Thus, she developed into this archetype and [[HumansAreBastards believed that she'll only be loved if she sexed herself up.]] It takes ThePowerOfLove - both from friends and a love who cares about her real self - for her to regain her faith in humanity.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: Has a surprisingly complex one for her character. [[spoiler:As a kid, she was a total tomboy and was bullied mercilessly for it - and when she joined the army to make use of her fighting skills, she ended up alienated because she acted outside of her gender role. Baring exceptions like her loving parents, this lead her to believe that [[HumansAreBastards people only want to see what's on the outside]] and [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon don't want the gender status-quo to be tipped]], so she deliberately appealed to that standard. Some supports and some [[ThePowerOfLove true love]] made her realize humans as a whole weren't as bad as she thought, though.]]
* CriticalHitClass: Berserkers already have an innate bonus to crit, but Charlotte's personal skill gives her a flat +20 if she's facing a female opponent, and she starts with the Gamble skill which increases her chance to crit. Combine this with the Berserker promotion and the Great club (which has a base crit rate of ''55%''!) and she can have a critical hit rate between 80-100% ''easily''. Expect to hear her PreAssKickingOneLiner a ''lot''! The only downside is that the Great Club has a really bad hit rate (Even for an axe!).
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:Charlotte grew up in constant poverty and was bullied for her tomboyish behavior, then later was scorned for being such a good fighter despite her gender. Her [[GoldDigger desire to marry rich]], difficulty expressing her true personality, and [[TheCynic cynical outlook]] stem from these childhood issues]].
* DeliberatelyDistressedDamsel: She pretends to be helpless to try to get some rich male to save and fall for her. Thankfully, she realizes that people aren't all like that, and she finally becomes [[NiceGirl her true self]] with this realization.
* DudeMagnet: Her (fake) sweet feminine persona combined with her sex appeal makes her very desirable to men. If she doesn't hook up with anyone, her ending describes she has a lot of success "bewitching the hearts of eligible young men" in royal balls.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite being pretty openly TheCynic, Charlotte clearly has some very apparent moral standards:
** She assumes Peri is performing ObfuscatingInsanity to be appealing to men; when it becomes apparent that she really ''is'' that crazy, Charlotte is noticeably disturbed.
** Charlotte's starting criteria for dating is [[GoldDigger must be rich]], but it's not her ''only'' requirement; they also have to be a decent person themselves, and if money's the ''only'' thing they have to offer, she'd rather walk away.
** Charlotte has a love for anything golden, but even she wouldn't want to con somebody for her own financial security. She's ecstatic in her early supports with Kaden when he brings her gold nuggets but, when he reveals in their A-Support that he's been cutting off his fur to trade for said gold, Charlotte [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold immediately forbids Kaden from doing such a thing again both out of guilt and moral concern]].
* TheFakeCutie: Deconstructed. [[spoiler:Thanks to her being mercilessly bullied for not being "feminine" enough, she believes that people only want to see what's in front of them, not what's on the inside, leading her to develop a [[HumansAreBastards extremely cynical worldview.]] Thankfully, she [[TookALevelInIdealism takes several levels in idealism]] and learns that [[HumansAreFlawed despite their flaws, not all humans are like that.]]]]
* FauxYay: Charlotte will be very interested in joining Corrin's party after she knows that Corrin is royalty, and gives Corrin lunch while acting overly nice in their C support, regardless of Corrin's gender. She, of course, isn't really attracted to a female Corrin and is just trying to get on her good side.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: She learned how to cook because she [[ThroughHisStomach knows it's considered to be a desirable skill in a wife]], but it turned out to be one of the few feminine traits she adopted that she genuinely enjoys.
* FemmeFatale: She knows how to use her charm and sex appeal to make men fall for her. In her support with Beruka they even discuss how this could be used as a tool for assassination, though in Charlotte's case all she wants is to [[GoldDigger marry into money]].
* {{Foil}}:
** To Benny. Charlotte is very attractive and acts cute and innocent, but she's really crude, attempts to use her feminine wiles to get men to do what she wants (and possibly get their money), and is somewhat violent. Benny has a less-than-pretty and imposing appearance that gives him an unpleasant reputation, but in reality is very kind and caring.
** Among the Hoshidan characters, she's this to Rinkah. Both are very tough, melee-oriented female warriors who are among the strongest in terms of physical ability. Both also fulfill a berserker-like battle role, preferring to charge their enemies and beat them down through raw power. Both are also rather cynical, seeing the world as a rather harsh place that doesn't do favors for anyone, having had trouble being accepted by the rest of the world for their being female fighters. However, Charlotte is crass but hides her crude side beneath a frilly exterior and false persona while desiring acceptance, while Rinkah is bluntly straightforward, doesn't care much about what people think about her and looks down on people who hide their true selves.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler:Charlotte's fake GirlyGirl persona is done to hide her crude [[TheLadette Ladette]] nature, which she was harassed day in and day out for. She became a soldier because she believed it was a way to take her best trait - her immense strength - and gain recognition from it so as to marry into wealth and get her GoodParents out of the poverty they'd had to raise her in, but her "recognition" was to be slapped with the label of "abnormal" for being one of the strongest fighters around despite being a girl. This led Charlotte to believe people are inherently selfish, only care about exterior looks and that she herself had no value whatsoever unless she matched people's preconceptions of what a girl should be like]].
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Very much invoked for the player, but if she's made to fight a losing bout, her tearful expression can be taken as her faking it if she just so happens to have a high enough critical hit stat to decimate her foe.
* GirlyBruiser: She looks dainty and cute, but [[BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon fights with axes]] and [[BloodKnight throws herself heartily into battle]]. Her A Support conversation with Xander reveals that she's capable of killing a Faceless with her bare hands, but still enjoys feminine interests such as [[FeminineWomenCanCook cooking]].
* GlassCannon: Par for the course for a Fighter, but Charlotte really takes this to the extreme with her brutal Strength and very high Speed growth. However, even with her humongous HP, her low Defense rating means she'll still only be able to afford a few hits, and absolutely ''must'' be kept away from any enemy magic-users.
* GoldDigger: Her dream is to marry into status and wealth. [[spoiler:Unlike most examples of this trope though, it's actually not about raw greed; she had a [[KidsAreCruel horrible childhood thanks to constant bullying]], [[GoodParents but her parents loved her for who she was and always provided for her despite being very poor.]] This led her to want to marry a wealthy nobleman as her way of saying "thank you" to her parents for being there for her, despite believing HumansAreBastards. Another major difference is that, by her own admission, she won't marry someone ''[[EveryoneHasStandards just]]'' for their money - if they're a complete dirtbag, she won't go with them no matter how much wealth they have.]]
* GoodParents:
** Charlotte's parents always loved and supported her while she was growing up, helping her deal with the bullying she received and providing whatever they could despite being poor. Even though she believes that people only look out for themselves, Charlotte sends money to her parents to give them a better life as way of saying thanks.
** Charlotte turns out to be quite a loving parent, as well: her supports with her children generally have her show a lot of love and care for them, aside from a few slips [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments ("Because I said so, you little -- err, I mean...")]], and her endings pretty much confirm that she was a loving parent and loyal wife.
* GoneHorriblyRight:
** Charlotte enlisted in the military because fighting was her best skill - but she proved so good at it that nobody would approach such an overpoweringly-strong woman and anyone who did was either scared off by her strength, put off by her being [[TheLadette a Ladette]] or had issue with her being stronger than them. This led her to believe NoGuyWantsAnAmazon and doll herself up for everyone else since.
** Charlotte's meek-girl act proved more successful than she could have hoped - too much so, in fact, as her superiors thought she was too fragile to take on high-standing jobs. This resulted in her getting taken off the Royal Guard (and away from a majority of the potentially wealthy suitors) and reassigned to border patrol.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: She busted her ass to try and gain recognition through her prominent strength, but it only ever got her mistrust and disapproval due to being [[StayInTheKitchen a woman in the army]], or outright fear and dislike over being stronger than most of the men she met. To say this contributed to her [[JadeColoredGlasses "people only care about the outside and not the inside" beliefs]] is a gross understatement.
* HiddenDepths:
** You'd think she'd be a complete {{Jerkass}} what with the [[JadeColoredGlasses rather jaded and selfish things she says]] in Beruka's Supports, but her [[spoiler:supports with Xander reveal she was bullied pretty badly as a kid, [[DisproportionateRetribution all because of her tomboyish nature.]] She was also never properly recognized for her fighting talents because of her gender, and those that ''did'' take her skill seriously instead became wary of her. This led her to believe HumansAreBastards who only want to see the outside, and it takes some [[WarriorTherapist heart-to-heart from others in the army]] to help her realize otherwise.]]
** Her Supports with Silas reveal that her becoming a fighter was actually a direct result of her poor lifestyle. [[spoiler:Being a capable fighter was literally the ''only'' thing she had going for her, so it became the only way to gain respect - only she turned out to be [[GoneHorriblyRight too good at it]] and wound up frightening most people with her strength. Combined with the bullying issues she talks about in Xander's Supports, is it any wonder she got so jaded about the world?]]
** It's implied that she doesn't act cute just to win guys over, but because she also has issues genuinely opening up to people. She tells Xander in their A-support that men would grow afraid of her whenever she tried to be herself around them, so eventually [[StepfordSmiler she just started wearing a mask instead.]] Silas' Supports exposit on this further, [[spoiler:hinting she's actually worn the mask so long that it's causing an identity crisis - Silas even goes as far as suggesting Charlotte no longer knows which side of herself she dislikes; the frilly part that she fakes for everyone, or the crude part that hides from everyone.]]
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Despite her outward persona and confidence in her looks, Charlotte secretly has rather severe self-worth issues in regards to her real personality. [[spoiler:This stems from her [[FreudianExcuse being bullied over lacking femininity]] and her being a GirlyBruiser in the army giving her rejection and suspicion as her sole reward, leading her to feel she will only ever be valued if she puts on an act that matches others' expectations of her]].
* HumansAreBastards: [[spoiler:She believes in this mentality firmly, as she was a victim of bullying for not being more effeminate and was treated with distrust for being a [[GirlyBruiser female warrior]]. She grows out of this mentality post-character development.]]
* INeedToGoIronMyDog: She usually has a lame excuse or explanation to people whenever her [[TheFakeCutie fake cutie]] facade breaks.
** In Corrin's B-Support she has a hard time convincing Corrin she did not punch a tree into the ground with her bare hands.
-->'''Charlotte:''' Punching? Me? Never! You must be mistaken.\
'''Corrin:''' [[VisibleSilence ...]]\
'''Charlotte:''' All that happened was I reached out... with my fist... to lean on the tree. Then there was this huge gust of wind! THAT'S what must have toppled the tree. Teehee, it just made me look freakishly strong is all!\
'''Corrin:''' A gust of wind? I didn't feel any wind...\
'''Charlotte:''' ...Damn it!
** In Kaze's B-Support she actually can't come up with an excuse and just says "[[BlatantLies I have to go. I left an excuse in the oven!]]"
* JerkassAtYourDiscretion: She acts like a sweetheart when around most other people, but is her regular, much less pleasant self around her friend Benny. Unlike most of the other examples of this trope, Charlotte and Benny actually get along quite well, and she finds it relieving that there's someone she doesn't need to put up a front around. Part of her character arc throughout her supports has her either BecomingTheMask, or learning to embrace her true self.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Charlotte is brash and has [[TheCynic a very negative opinion on the world]], but she deeply cares for her friends and loved ones, and if you earn her trust you'll have a loyal and steadfast ally. She just has a hard time opening up to people, [[CynicismCatalyst and for good reason.]]
* KnightInSourArmor: She's incredibly cynical and believes [[HumansAreBastards people only see what they want to see]], but she always does the right thing. [[spoiler:She ends up refusing Kaden's gold nuggets for that very reason when she learns that he's been cutting off his fur--and thus risking himself getting hurt while selling it--just to make Charlotte happy.]]
* TheLadette: Her true personality is much more crude than she lets on, as she enjoys fighting and is actually rather boorish.
* LastGirlWins: She is the last woman to be encountered in the story in the ''Conquest'' route, and thus has a claim to this if she romances the male Corrin. She's also the last generally eligible woman to be recruited and has no storyline connection to anyone other than Benny, so she qualifies for every Nohrian man save him.
* LifeDrain: Can learn Sol if she Class Changes to Hero, which has a chance to heal her for 50% of the damage she deals.
* LongHairIsFeminine: She keeps her hair long and takes great care of it in order to increase her feminine appeal.
* LoveConfession:
-->''I love you, darling. I've always dreamt of this moment! I did think there would be more golden things around, though...''
* ManipulativeBitch: Knows how to use her cute looks to get her way. [[spoiler:This is because she believes people only want to see what's in front of them and hate when those perceptions are slanted, leading her to have a low self-esteem on top of a very [[HumansAreBastards cynical belief system.]] [[FriendlessBackground Given]] [[KidsAreCruel her childhood]] and [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon prior mistrust over her strength]], it's hard to blame her.]]
* MsFanservice: Deconstructed to hell and back, and even outright stated by Charlotte herself to be a deliberate fabrication for the sake of evoking this trope in the eyes of potential husbands. [[spoiler:Despite having loving parents, she was bullied a lot as a kid solely for not being feminine enough and given zero recognition - or even outright mistrust - for her fighting prowess due to said gender, leaving her with abysmal self-esteem and convinced that HumansAreBastards. Thankfully, her Supports with Corrin, Xander and other characters - even without an S-Rank - can help her [[HumansAreGood see otherwise]]]].
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Despite having high strength in both the story and gameplay, she doesn't have a muscular build, which is very obvious due to [[ChainmailBikini the amount of skin she exposes]].
* NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction: In her supports with Laslow, she is taken aback when he turns out to be much more receptive to her advances than she was prepared for, and eventually she yells at him for taking the fun out of seducing him.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Bad experiences convinced Charlotte that showing her true [[TheLadette lad-ette]] personality drives men and potential suitors away, so she [[TheFakeCutie purposefully acts meek and girly to be appealing]].
* NotGoodWithRejection: Her greatest fear is to be rejected, especially if it's her true self being shown. She has a good reason to be: [[spoiler:[[FreudianExcuse she was bullied as a childhood for being not "effeminate" and never rewarded for her fighting skill because it didn't match expectations of her gender, leaving her with a cynical worldview and little self-worth.]]]]
* NotWithThemForTheMoney: If she falls in love with Xander, Leo, or a Male Corrin, she does so not because of their money, but because they appreciated her for who she is. In fact, when the matter of money ''is'' brought up, one of her first requests to them is that [[spoiler:they spend their money on her ailing parents, not on her]]. She even almost rejects Leo's proposal if they S-Support, as she's genuinely fallen for him but worries that her feelings are tainted as a result.
* OddFriendship:
** With her partner, Benny. His nonjudgmental nature makes her feel comfortable enough to be herself around and confide in him. If they reach an S-Support, she falls in love with him because of it.
** She can also develop one with Nyx. Charlotte gradually becomes more encouraging towards her, perhaps because of her own [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon image issues]].
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Charlotte specifies several times that [[GoldDigger money is her main motivation to marry]], and would not be interested in most things without that incentive. [[spoiler:Although, she does admit in her supports that she wouldn't marry someone just because they were rich; just that them being wealthy is her ''starting'' criteria for finding a husband - she'd still refuse to marry someone wealthy they weren't a good person. The biggest kicker though is the reason she wants the money in the first place; to get her [[GoodParents loving parents]] out of poverty, in repayment for having raised her through tough times and being the only people beyond Corrin's army to ever like her for her true self.]]
* PetTheDog:
** When Nyx tells her "IAmAMonster" in their A support, Charlotte's reply can be summed up in "YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre".
** In Charlotte and Kaden's supports in ''Revelation'', she grooms him to try and take advantage of his [[SuperGullible kind and trusting nature]] hoping to get something in return. When she learns in their A support that he's been selling some of his fur for gold nuggets he's given her to pay her back, thus risking himself getting hurt by the potential buyers fighting over it, Charlotte immediately feels guilty and fesses up, telling him to stop and promising to make it up to him. Taken further in the Nohrian Parent Bond Festival. In her supports with Selkie as her daughter, Selkie reveals to have done the same thing her father Kaden and sell some of her fur for gold nuggets. Charlotte refuses the gold nugget, told Selkie that Kaden once did the same and asks her to never do this again. Since the gold nugget cannot be returned, though, Charlotte decided to use it to buy Selkie a new kimono.
** She was the first person who wasn't afraid to talk to [[FaceOfAThug Benny]], as she saw that, beyond his scary-looking appearance, he actually was a GentleGiant. Her support chain with him show that they get along very well and she genuinely values her friendship with him.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Charlotte is comfortable enough around Benny that she doesn't put on her cute act in front of him. They will achieve a RelationshipUpgrade if they reach S-support.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"You're nobody!"''\
''"You disgust me!"''\
''"Don't underestimate me."''\
''"I'm gonna tear you in half!"''
* ProfessionalButtKisser: When Corrin first meets her in ''Conquest'', she's initially irritated over being awoken, but completely changes her tune once she finds out Corrin is royalty and starts buttering up to them instead in the hopes of advancing her career by earning their favor, which more or less happens once she joins their army.
* ProudBeauty: She greatly values how beautiful she is and how she can use her good looks to further her position in life.
* RescueRomance: She saves Xander from a Faceless in their A-support by [[OffscreenMomentOfAwesome beating it to death with her bare hands]], which completely changes his mind on her, and they'll get married in the very next support, if the player allows it.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: She has no shame in wearing a [[{{Stripperiffic}} revealing outfit]] and seems to be proud of her beautiful skin.
* SheCleansUpNicely: A sketch by Kozaki has her wearing a rather nice dress.
* SlapSlapKiss: If one finishes their chain to S-Support, this is her relationship with Saizo in a nutshell.
* StayInTheKitchen: Charlotte was on the receiving end of this when she joined the Nohrian military; her being stronger than most other soldiers may have gotten her into the Royal Guard, but she was heavily frowned upon due to being a ''girl'' with such high strength, which only served to reinforce her belief that people only care about surface looks.
* StepfordSmiler: Charlotte doesn't just act cute and flirty to seduce men, but also because [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon people bullied her a lot for her unfeminine self]], and she faced mistrust and fear just for being [[StayInTheKitchen a female soldier]], let alone one who could outmatch most men. This left her with HeroicSelfDeprecation and convinced her that [[HumansAreBastards people are only out for themselves]] and [[JadeColoredGlasses only see - and care about - what's on the surface]]. This genuinely upset her, so she decided she'd rather be a well-liked fake and started cultivating a "typical cute girl" image.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She wears what is best described as a bikini with some armor over it, and the armor doesn't do much to cover her up. This actually makes total sense for her character, [[spoiler:as she thinks people won't acknowledge her at all unless she emphasizes the parts she believes they want to see--namely, her womanly assets]].
* SuperStrength: She's abnormally strong, being able to fell a tree with a single punch.
* SupremeChef: Her cooking is delicious enough to win praise from anyone she gives it to.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: If she's talking to a male Corrin, her recruitment has her stressing that Benny is her "Totally Platonic Friend", as [[GoldDigger she wants to make it clear to the prince that she's single]].
* TearsOfJoy: Happens in some of her romantic supports, and it's all the more potent when it does happen, as it means [[spoiler:she's finally met someone who loves her for who she truly is.]]
* ThroughHisStomach: She learned how to be a SupremeChef in order to fulfill her GoldDigger goals. As even plainly states it in B-Support with Saizo: "The quickest way to a man's heart is through the stomach!"
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She loves fist-fighting, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying feminine activities such as shopping, primping, or [[SupremeChef cooking.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: She was always a good person at the end of the day, [[spoiler:but it takes ThePowerOfLove and some [[WarriorTherapist bonding with her comrades]] for her to be her best self.]]
* TookALevelInIdealism: [[spoiler:She becomes much more faithful in humanity as a result of her CharacterDevelopment.]]
* UnskilledButStrong: Charlotte has an obscenely high attack power and can tear apart most average enemy units with a single hit. However, she has difficulties hitting agile enemies, such as ninjas, even if she has weapon advantage. This is especially notable when you recruit her for the first time.
* TheVamp: Acts sweet to seduce men. [[spoiler:This is actually an act she forged out of fear of rejection, which is attributed to dealing with a crappy childhood and crappy treatment when in the Royal Guard.]]
* VerbalBackspace: In her support with Saizo in ''Revelation'', she mocks him for his shabby clothing and obvious poverty. Then he tells her he directly serves the Hoshidan heir-apparent and gets paid a crapton of money, his appearance being because he doesn't care to flaunt wealth--plus, doing so would be counterproductive to his role as a ninja.
--> '''Charlotte:''' Now that I've had a close look, your regal bearing is readily apparent. Perhaps you save these glimpses of your true nature for those...special to you...?\
'''Saizo:''' [[DeadpanSnarker It's a little late for that.]]
%%* VitriolicBestBuds: Forges this sort of relationship with [[spoiler:Rinkah]] in their ''Revelation'' supports.
* WalkingSpoiler: It'd be near-impossible to truly go into detail about Charlotte's [[spoiler:[[StepfordSmiler true nature]]]] without spoiling just ''what'' makes the way she is.
* WillfullyWeak: Her personal skill, ''Unmask'', allows Charlotte to deal greater damage to female enemies, implying that she is holding back against male adversaries. Leo's supports with her confirm it.
* WouldntHitAGirl: Inverted; she actually holds back against men because she doesn't want to [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon scare them off]], but she shows none of this restraint when facing other women.

->''"You can count on me."''

A mercenary of the border of the Kingdom of Nohr and an acquaintance of Charlotte. He is a great man with a scary face that both his allies and enemies fear. However, he is nice inside and always thinking of his comrades. He carries a homemade charm with him into battle. The friendliest with bears. His birthday is March 24th.

->'''Class:''' Knight (default), General (''Heirs of Fate 6'' DLC)\
'''Voiced by:''' Shigeo Kiyama (Japanese), Imari Williams (English)
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's noticeably more dark-skinned than most other characters in the game.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Can learn Luna if promoted to Great Knight.
* BaritoneOfStrength: He is a strong armored knight, and both Kiyama and Williams give him one of the deepest voices in the game as a whole.
* BattleCouple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Oboro and Rinkah in ''Revelation''.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The reason he's good friends with Charlotte is because she was the first person who wasn't afraid to talk to him.
* BetterWithNonHumanCompany: He's a [[SociallyAwkwardHero awkward and shy man]] with a [[FaceOfAThug intimidating appearance]], which means he's usually more comfortable in the company of animals rather than with people.
* BlackKnight: Benny is clad in pitch-black armor for the Knight and General class, and seems to fit all the notable traits; he's a knight-errant with no ties to any lord (he's actually part of the Border Patrol with Charlotte), he's extremely intimidating and imposing, and has impregnable defense. Benny is actually a total subversion of the [[AntiHero usual traits]] of [[DarkIsEvil this trope]], as Benny is ultimately an intensely sweet and empathetic young man.
* CallBack: Several of Benny's supports have the other character mention Benny [[OneManArmy fending off ten-thousand men by himself]]. In his son, Ignatius' Paralogue he has this to say:
-->'''Benny:''' I'm coming Ignatius, with the vengeance of ten-thousand men!
* CannotTellAJoke: One attempt at a joke sends Felicia fleeing from him in terror. He actually has a decent - if extremely deadpan - sense of humor, but he needs to know his audience better.
* DamageReduction: Can learn Pavise if he promotes to General, or Armored Blow if he promotes to Great Knight.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He's dark skinned and comes into battle in pitch black armor, but in truth, Benny is an extremely kind and sweet-hearted GentleGiant.
* TheDreaded: Benny unfortunately regularly invokes this with other people due to how intimidating he is. In truth, he's an extremely sweet and soft-hearted person.
* {{Expy}}: Of Brady from ''Awakening'', being a scary-looking guy who is actually kind and timid. They even look somewhat alike, especially if you get Brady with blonde hair.
* FaceOfAThug: Benny is easily one of the sweetest and nicest guys that can join the army, but his rugged appearance scares almost everybody who meets him.
* {{Foil}}: To Charlotte, having the FaceOfAThug while being truly kind, whereas she acts cute but in reality is crude and manipulative (though with a HiddenHeartOfGold).
* FriendToAllLivingThings:
** He's very fond of animals. When a bear appears in the woods near the camping grounds in his supports with Camilla, he [[spoiler:communicates with it to lead it to an area with more food so he won't have to kill it]]. His being the friendliest with bears isn't a joke; his support with Arthur reveals that he was like this even as a child and, in Corrin's supports, a rumor he once hit a bear in the face is the only one of the tall tales about him that he takes actual offense to. [[spoiler:It causes a problem when some of his old friends pay him a visit, but he's able to calm everyone down.]]
** [[spoiler:Benny's solo ''Conquest'' ending has him deciding to resign from the Nohrian army and stay with his animal friends in the forest.]]
* GoodLuckCharm:
** Keeps a personal homemade one on him in battle.
** In his ''Revelation'' supports with Oboro, they discuss the merits of Hoshidan and Nohrian good-luck charms.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Bears a gnarly scar on his forehead that adds to his frightening appearance.
* GentleGiant: Noted to always be thinking of his comrades, whom he easily towers over. Charlotte even name-drops the trope in their A-support.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Ultimately, Benny's intimidating nature is a detriment to his ability to be friends with ''anyone'', as all he ever wants is to have people he can be proud to call a friend. Several of his supports (such as his with [[ThePaladin Arthur]]'s) try to avert this, to no real avail. Ultimately, this is why he's such good friends with [[TheFakeCutie Charlotte]]; she ultimately saw through his intimidating appearance and quickly became his friend.
* HeroicBuild: Predictably, Benny is an absolute '''brick house''' under all that heavy armor.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: While he's quick to correct grand misconceptions about his achievements, he never really says anything nice about himself either. He admits he's very scary-looking and timid, claiming he's only good for muscle and not brains.
* HiddenDepths: While his appearance is fearsome, he's actually a kind and thoughtful man.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Benny will end up being this with almost every female (aside from [[StatuesqueStunner Camilla]]). It's taken to the logical conclusion with Elise, Mozu or Nyx.
* LoveConfession:
-->''The only thing that scares me... is how much I love you.''
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: In his C support with Felicia, Felicia ends up spilling a tray of hot tea and snacks all over Benny when he sneezes. Felicia is in a panic trying to clean him up. Benny just kind of looks at her despite being burned by the tea.
-->'''Benny:''' ...she seems upset.
* ManlyTears: In his B and A support with his son, Ignatius, Benny cries after hearing Ignatius say he wouldn't have anyone else for a father (B support) and after Ignatius shows him the GoodLuckCharm he made for him (A support). Both times he tries to avoid having his son see him crying, with the first time he says he's going for a walk, and the second time he asks him to turn around.
* MemeticBadass: An InUniverse example, as people ''greatly'' [[ShroudedInMyth exaggerate Benny's feats]].
* MightyGlacier: Has by far the lowest speed growth in the game but very high strength, health and defenses. In an twist of other Armor Knights in the series, his resistance is not terrible. Starting with 10 resistance and having a 45 resistance growth means that he could fight mages, usually a counter for high defense but low resistance Knights, with both his stats and weapon triangle advantage.
* MoralityPet: For Charlotte. She's crude and manipulative, but she treats him with respect and genuinely values her friendship with him. She was also the first person who saw past [[FaceOfAThug his appearance]] and realized that he was a GentleGiant.
* NiceGuy: Despite his intimidating appearance, he's a genuinely sweet guy.
* NoBrows: Which do not make him look any less scary.
* NoodleIncident: PlayedForLaughs. His supports with Elise focus on rumors of him being an ExtremeOmnivore, with her asking if he eats mountains. Benny essentially tells her "not anymore since the accident".
* OddFriendship: With his partner, Charlotte. His nonjudgmental nature makes her feel comfortable enough to be herself around and confide in him. If they reach an S-Support, she falls in love with him because of it.
* PaletteSwap: His Knight and General uniforms are black.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Charlotte at the start of the game. Becomes a RelationshipUpgrade should they reach S-support.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Here goes nothing!"''\
''"You deserve no better!"''\
''"You die so I may live!"''\
''"You don't scare me!"''
* ScaryBlackMan: Has this appearance, and his unique ability suggests that he strikes fear into the heart of enemies. His armor is black as well.
* ShroudedInMyth: There's a ''lot'' of tall-tales and rumors about Benny. Apparently, the most common one is him [[OneManArmy defeating ten-thousand soldiers by himself]] as it's mentioned in two of his supports. Examples:
-->'''Elise:''' Um, well, I don't know how to say this, buuuuut... People have been saying that when you get hungry, you'll eat anything around you! Like, even [[ExtremeOmnivore horses and trees and boulders and stuff! Anything!]] In just one big gulp! *haaa-gulp*\
'''Elise:''' There were a lot. Let's see... They say you once defeated a hundred thousand men in a mud-wrestling contest! And that you were suckled by black bears, before your mama bear was tragically killed! OH! And that you once sneezed a hole into a Faceless's chest!\
'''Hayato:''' I've heard that you're incredibly powerful. Is it true that you once suppressed over ten thousand troops all by yourself? Seems like nothing but a tall tale to me, but I wanted to hear about it from you. Now that I'm looking at you, it's not too hard to imagine it being true.\
'''Selena:''' They say you stopped a wild bull in its tracks with just one hand.\
'''Corrin:''' Well, now that you mention it... Have you ever defeated an army of 10,000 soldiers all by yourself? It seems unlikely, but... [...] I also heard that you once tossed a man so far into the sky that he never came down. [...] That... that you blew on a volcano to stop it from erupting... [...] That you forged an axe with your bare hands... [...] That you punched a bear in the face...[[note]]Benny [[FriendToAllLivingThings took offense to the last one]][[/note]]
* ShrinkingViolet: Surprisingly, Benny is shy to a fault. He's a teddy bear of a man, and is deeply shy and often would [[BetterWithNonHumanCompany prefer being around animals instead]]. Unfortunately, his hulking frame and intimidating nature made the nature of befriending him even harder, due to being completely ShroudedInMyth with myriad of tall tales.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: Unlike Beruka or Rinkah, who prefer solitude, Benny actually ''would'' like to be closer to everyone else, he just doesn't know how. Arthur tries to help him in this endeavor, but his plans tend to have, well, Arthurian levels of luck.
* {{Troll}}: He occasionally plays along with some of the [[ShroudedInMyth ridiculous rumors he hears about himself]], like convincing Felicia he eats people, or implying to Elise that he [[ExtremeOmnivore used to devour mountains whole]].
* TheTysonZone: Benny ultimately finds himself in this, poor guy. His [[FaceOfAThug intimidating face]], imposing stature and tendency to be completely silent has given him such a reputation for tall tales that anytime Benny ''does'' demonstrate his power, [[ViciousCycle none of it surprises absolutely anyone and just adds to the rumors surrounding him]]. Arthur in his supports tries to help break this cycle for Benny... only for it to [[EpicFail fail spectacularly]] when Arthur's [[BornUnlucky bad luck]] ''somehow'' gets a horde of Faceless in the same room just as Benny was saying "this is the real me". [[ThirdActMisunderstanding Thankfully, it works out in the end]].
* UglyGuyHotWife: If he gets married, he'll be this through and through. [[spoiler:And with [[TheUglyGuysHotDaughter The Ugly Guy's More Handsome Son(s)]] since he will father a son with a more flattering hairstyle and softer features (Ignatius, with any potential wife) and can potentially be the dad of an AdorablyPrecociousChild (Male Kanna, with the Female Corrin) and a PrettyBoy (Shigure, with Azura).]]

->''"My tail is NOT wagging! It's not! Got it?!"''

Keaton is a Wolfskin, a being that is capable of turning into a werewolf-like creature in battle by using a Beaststone. He is the leader of his pack, which lives in the Nohrian mountains. He is cheerful and a little stupid, but also has a very cruel side. Out of everyone in the army, he's the most easily distracted. His birthday is October 30th.

->'''Class:''' Wolfskin (default), Wolfssegner (''Birthright'' and ''Heirs of Fate 6'' DLC)\
'''Voiced by:''' Jun Ohsuka (Japanese), Creator/GideonEmery (English, ''Fates''), Ted Sroka (English, ''Heroes'')
----

* AnimalStereotypes: While he ''prefers'' to be thought of as a [[NobleWolf wolf]], and, indeed, has some "wild" streaks in his personality, [[spoiler:such as seeing nothing wrong with eating humans killed in fair combat]], Keaton has more traits commonly associated with dogs: he hates bathing, is very friendly, loyal, and eager-to-please, is somewhat "slow" and silly and is too honest to easily deceive people, finds many smelly or gross things pleasant, and [[MyInstinctsAreShowing reacts like a dog]] to many situations, like wagging his tail when he's happy or having to struggle not to tear up a fluff ball during his supports with Elise.
* AttentionWhore: One of his lines after killing an enemy is "Where's my praise?!" And if he gets a good level up, he'll say, [[BlatantLies "Not that I'm fishing for praise, but..."]]
* BattleCouple: Can marry a female Corrin, Azura, Felicia, Mozu, and any of the Nohr females (except for Flora), as well as the Hoshidan characters Hana and Rinkah in ''Revelation''.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Keaton is so touched by Laslow's willingness to hang out with him, that he ends up giving him one of his most prized treasures as thanks.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Keaton is usually outgoing and friendly, but has a hidden BloodKnight side to him and once angered, there's no going back.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He may be generally a goofball, but there is a reason he is the leader of the Wolfskins. If you mess with him...you are dead.
* BlatantLies:
** "My tail is NOT wagging 'cause I'm happy! GOT IT?!"
** Also, "My tail is ''not'' wagging for your birthday! Really!"
* BloodKnight: He admits to Peri that one similarity the two of them share is that they both get a thrill out of killing, which can be attributed to Keaton's predatory instinct as a Wolfskin.
* BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: [[spoiler:The "boke" to Kaden's "tsukkomi" in their supports. What's interesting is that he's sharply dressed (like a "tsukkomi") in contrast to Kaden's more casual appearance.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Keaton is a very eccentric and rather idiotic Wolfskin who is nonetheless leader of his tribe, a highly skilled hunter, and ''very'' dangerous on the battlefield.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: His highly distinctive tastes in aesthetics can make him come off as very strange and eccentric.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: His collection includes things like spider silk, bat fangs, and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick mummified lizards]]. And in ''Birthright'', [[spoiler:the bones of enemies he's killed and eaten]].
* CountryMouse: Despite his apparel he comes from the country, and Mozu ribs him in her Supports due to his denial of that fact.
* CreepyGood: He's a BloodKnight who can transform into a werewolf, loves to collect all sorts of creepy things like giant bugs and dead bats, and is heavily implied to actually eat humans. He's also one of the nicest and friendliest guys around. Just don't hurt his friends, or [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge you'll regret it.]]
* {{Determinator}}: When it comes to hunting, trying to make friends, or showing off his collection, don't expect him to back down.
* {{Foil}}: To Hoshido's Kaden. Both are leaders of a tribe of animal shapeshifters that can turn into a canine creature (in Keaton's case, a werewolf) and have carefree personalities, though Keaton is more energetic, less concerned about his appearance, and is a NightmareFetishist who isn't above killing (or even ''eating'') those he doesn't like. [[spoiler:You can support both Kaden and Keaton together in the ''Revelation'' route, where they serve as a RedOniBlueOni BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine duo.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: Keaton is actually put off by Peri's bloodlust despite being a BloodKnight himself.
-->'''Keaton:''' Hunting to survive is...sacred, you know? If your only reason for hunting is to see something bleed to death... that doesn't cut it. You can't go out and kill for the sake of killing.
* FriendToBugs: [[spoiler:His supports with Kaden focus on them getting hilariously lost as Keaton tries to show Kaden a creature more beautiful than him. At the end of the support line, these are revealed to be ''giant spiders''.]]
* GuysAreSlobs: Unlike Kaden, Keaton isn't obsessed with grooming his fur and even admits he prefers a bristly, unkempt look. His supports with Camilla also imply that he [[HatesBaths he takes very irregular baths]].
* HealingFactor: He'll learn Better Odds as a Wolfssegner, which heals 40% of his HP on odd-numbered turns.
* HypocriticalHumor: One of his lines after killing an enemy is "Where's my praise?" but if an adjacent ally kills the enemy instead, he mutters "Glory hound..."
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Keaton is very friendly and sociable, but most find him rather off-putting due to his [[NightmareFetishist unusual]] [[{{Squick}} hobbies]]. This doesn't stop him from trying to earn everyone's approval, as can be seen by his persistence to befriend even irritable characters like Beruka and Rinkah. He even admits to Laslow that not many people are willing to give him the time of day, and is genuinely touched by Laslow's willingness to do so.
* InterspeciesRomance: Nearly all of his potential wives are human. Even the lone exception, a Female Corrin, is half-human, half-dragon.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his [[NightmareFetishist qui]][[BloodKnight rks]], he is otherwise a genuinely pleasant, affable guy.
* {{Keet}}: He's very excitable and energetic, like a real dog. Several characters note that his tail even wags when he's happy.
* KindheartedSimpleton: Keaton is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's one of the nicer and friendlier character perhaps because of this.
* LastGuyWins: In the ''Conquest'' route, he's the second-to-last generally eligible bachelor who joins the party, and unlike Xander he has no storyline connections to any of the other playable characters, giving him a claim to this for most of the Nohrian women. The exceptions are Mozu, Nyx, and Charlotte, who have no connections with Xander either.
* LethalChef: Due to his strange taste, he gives the worst cooking modifier, "Revolting", which is so bad that reduces '''-2''' effect of the dish and +1 random stat (most bad chefs only reduce -1 effect which only negates the cooking). Considering that Keaton enjoys [[ToServeMan human meat]], it's likely that he's fond of eating things humans find...[[LethalChef much less edible.]] The happier Keaton is with his dish, the worse others react to it.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: [[spoiler:Is goaded into fighting the Hoshidans in ''Birthright'' by someone killing one of his fellow Wolfskin despite the Hoshidans laying down their arms as a show of good faith, making it look like they were responsible.]]
* LittleBitBeastly: Looks mostly human, but has wolf-like ears and tail, and howls in battle.
* LoveConfession:
-->''You are my greatest treasure of all, and you smell the nicest. Hope you're ready to be really happy. From now on, I'm keeping you all to myself.''
* {{Manchild}}: He's rather childish and immature, loves showing off his "treasures", and is quite sensitive and prone to crying when upset.
* MeaningfulName: Like Kaden, Keaton's name is a play on "cotton". Flannel is another type of fabric, following the ThemeNaming started by the Taguels in ''Awakening''.
* MenDontCry: Though he acts tough, Keaton is actually pretty sensitive and tears up in a couple of his supports, most notably when Hana hurts his feelings. He obviously denies it, though.
* MightyGlacier: As a Wolfskin, Keaton has naturally high HP, Strength, and Defense but is rather slow. He edges closer into LightningBruiser once he promotes, thanks to his decent Speed growth.
* MyInstinctsAreShowing: Despite how very, ''very'' defensive he is about it, Keaton has a number of dog-like reactions to canine stimuli. Example from his recruitment in ''Conquest'':
-->'''Keaton:''' Join your group... Hmm... Well, I could find my way home anytime I wanted. Let's get that clear. But if you really think I'd be helpful, I can't very well turn you down.\
'''Corrin:''' Ha, your tail is wagging! Does that mean you're happy right now? Happy to join us?\
'''Keaton:''' My tail is NOT wagging! It's not! Got it?! Anyway, I guess it's settled. Nice to know ya! The name's Keaton.
* NightmareFetishist: Of a sort. His supports reveal that he has a collection of "treasures" that his more human comrades find creepy.
* NobleWolf: Treads the line between this and SavageWolf, since he's an ally to Corrin in ''Conquest'' and ''Revelation'' but is also a BloodKnight and something of a NightmareFetishist. [[spoiler:''Birthright'' also reveals that he has no issue with eating people if he finds them threatening.]]
* NoSenseOfDirection:
** He's terrible with directions. In his supports with [[spoiler:Kaden]], the two of them end up wandering a mountain ''all day'', lost because of Keaton.
** Corrin gets him to join up with their group in ''Conquest'' by offering to help him get home due to his own horrible sense of direction getting him lost.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: Voluntarily turns into a wolf.
* PapaWolf: [[{{Pun}} All puns aside,]] he's just as concerned about his daughter, Velouria, as most of the fathers are about their children. [[spoiler:In Heirs of Fate, he throws himself at a massive army so his daughter could escape.]]
* PerkyGoth: His outfit. He likes to collect creepy stuff, likes dark scary places, and is one of the nicest, cheerful characters in the game.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Say goodbye!"''\
''"Hunting party!"''\
''"This is the last thing you'll see!"''\
''"Just in time for dinner."''
* {{Pride}}: He's very proud of who he is. Refers to himself as "I'm Keaton. Your superior."
* RedOni:
** [[spoiler:To Kaden's blue in the ''Revelation'' route.]]
** However, in the routes where you don't recruit them, Keaton is actually the BlueOni to Kaden's red, as [[spoiler:until Iago frames you for the murder of one of his friends, he's far more reasonable than Kaden about trespassers in their lands and was actually about to let you pass unharmed, as opposed to Kaden who's convinced that it's too dangerous to allow anyone who comes into their hamlet to live no matter how nice they apparently are]].
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite being a BloodKnight and the leader of a race known for violent tendencies, Keaton's surprisingly affable towards trespassers so long as they stay on their best behavior.
* ShapeShifter: The unique ability of the Wolfskin is shifting into a monstrous werewolf form.
* SharpDressedMan: In his human state.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: This exchange with Corrin, after he gives them a seashell.
-->'''Keaton:''' I see. Hm. Maybe you're right. Now that I've given it a closer look, I'm starting to think it's not so great after all. I GUESS I might as well just give it to you, Corrin.\
'''Corrin:''' Keaton...did you plan on giving this to me the whole time?\
'''Keaton:''' What?! Don't be crazy! This was pure spontaneity! I just happened to find something and happened to bump into you! And then I happened to realize I didn't like it, and you happened to like it! It just makes sense to give it to you now!
* ThemeNaming: Following Panne and Yarne, Keaton's Japanese name Flannel is yet another type of fabric.
* ThoseTwoGuys: [[spoiler:With Kaden in ''Revelation''. Emphasized by their introduction in that path: their tribes are ganged up by the Kingdom's forces at the same time ''and'' the two are injured in said attack, so they decide to join Corrin's group to fight back together.]]
* ToServeMan: He eats humans that are his enemies. [[spoiler:When the party meets him in ''Birthright'', he claims that he and the rest of his pack ate the last group of soldiers that tried to get through, and tosses human remains to Corrin to prove that he isn't bluffing.]]
* {{Tsundere}}: A few of his supports will reveal him to be one, especially those with Corrin and Selena, though he's not nearly at the latter's level. It helps that he's also adorably, transparently terrible at it thanks to his body language continuously giving away what he's really feeling.
* UnskilledButStrong: His Skill stat is ''atrocious'', with a mere growth of 20% before class modifiers, a personal cap modifer of -2, and a low base of 10 (at Level 15) before his weapon bonuses come into play. Combined with the generally higher stats of ''Conquest'' enemies, Keaton will rarely have 100% Hit against enemies. However, he also has a very high Strength stat, with a growth of 60% before class modifiers (''80%'' in his base class), a personal cap modifer of +3, and a base stat of 19. While he's not the most accurate unit, he hits ''hard'' even with the lower Mt of Beaststones.
