The seventh edition of the ''Amazing Race Australia'' was announced in April 2023, alongside other returning and renewed shows for Creator/NetworkTen. However, the fact it was a CelebrityEdition had been known since [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceAustralia6 the previous season]] - at that time, [[https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/beau-ryan-celebrity-amazing-race-australia-051019233.html Beau had mentioned in an interview]] he wanted to make one happen.

!!Darren [=McMullen=] and Tristan Dougan
A TV show host/actor and his nephew, a lawyer.

Tropes applying to them:
* TheAce: Get first place - and resultant hotel upgrades - several times, to the point Emma calls the show "Darren and Tristan's Amazing Race". This then is deconstructed as Emma and Hayley come close to equalling their amount of leg wins.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Darren has only had female partners, but he says this about Harry and Teddy:
--> '''Darren (while Tristan grins):''' I love to see those beautiful abs glistening in the sun.
* BigEater: Tristan, who didn't flinch at the bull penis Detour and mowed through the Bug Cafe Roadblock.
* ComplexityAddiction: Made 7 metres of lotus silk, rather than 6, and yet were sent back to fix it because there were lumps in the thread.
* CloudCuckoolandersMinder: Tristan was apparently typecast as this after he and Darren got their noses pierced, as part of a decision they made to do every Fast Forward which came their way.
--> '''Ellison (Darren's mother):''' Tristan, you're supposed to be the adult in the room.
* DisabilitySuperpower: Darren has ADHD, so much like [[Characters/TheAmazingRace33 Penn]], he plays it up when the mask Roadblock (a memorization challenge) comes up in Borneo.
* DownToTheLastPlay:
** Managed to beat Alli and Angie for first place at the first Cambodian leg. They managed to leave just as Alli and Angie were about to check in.
** Managed to beat Harry and Teddy to avoid last place at the second Cambodian leg, and then for first place in the first Borneo leg.
* FistBump: Exchange two handed fist bumps with a task judge in Borneo.
* FriendlyRivalry: Share this trope with Harry and Teddy in Borneo.
* JackOfAllTrades: In the Race sense, as while Emma and Hayley gain their leads through performing tasks or tasks involving children, Darren and Tristan gain their leads through skill and choosing the right team member for the job.
* NoSenseOfDirection: Downplayed in comparison to other examples, but they briefly get lost in the penultimate leg, causing them to lose their lead on the remaining teams (who were still at the previous Roadblock) and creating a three way race to the Pit Stop.
* OhCrap: Darren had this reaction to getting his nose pierced, but he went through with it anyway. (Meanwhile, Tristan, while not totally willing either, agreed to go first.)
* SatelliteCharacter: Tristan didn't say as much as his uncle. Justified, as Darren is a TV show host who loves to joke around.
* ShirtlessScene: In Borneo because swimming was involved.
* WeWait: Called waiting at an Intersection a Speed Bump for them when they knew the team they were Intersected with had a Speed Bump of their own.

!!Emma and Hayley Watkins
A former yellow [[Franchise/TheWiggles Wiggle]] and her sister.

Tropes applying to them:
* TheAce: Discussed as this trope by Darren in Cambodia, due to how they tend to place first in legs involving tasks which play towards their strengths. Darren then lampshades how much he's gushing about them as "being in love with [them]".
* ChekhovsSkill: There is a deaf kid at the Phare Circus in Cambodia who communicates to Emma and Hayley in sign language. They are competing for a community supporting deaf people, so not only did Emma sign back to him, it was a chance for them to plug their charity and what it means to them.
* DownToTheLastPlay: Managed to beat Alli and Angie for third place at the first Borneo leg.
* ForeignQueasine: Fried tarantulas in Cambodia for Hayley. Emma wasn't as frightened because she wasn't the one completing the Roadblock, but she was still rather clearly put off by the prospect.
* GenkiGirl: Both of them. Even at the pointy end of the Race, they still have time to do little energetic jumps as they head out of the airport.
* InSeriesNickname: "The Wiggle sisters" gets used a bit. Also "Emma Memma" (Emma's [[StageName stage name]] as a children's entertainer post-Wiggles) gets used over the walkie-talkie during the Borneo orangutan Intersection. Also see OnlyKnownByTheirNickname below.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Downplayed - Emma was commonly called "Emma Wiggle" (mostly by Harry and Teddy) when her real name is Emma ''Watkins''. However, this was more of her reputation preceding her more than anything.
* WorkplaceAcquiredAbilities: They are both well-versed in dancing and memorising moves (to the point Emma had worked in Bollywood films before and Hayley is a dance teacher), so they helped Alli and Angie breeze through the Bollywood dancing Intersection by making up names for the dance moves that were easy to memorize. On top of that, several Racers lampshade Emma would have been the greatest Intersection partner for that task.
** Emma also has an extensive background in working with children, which was useful when asking the kids the phrase to get them to Qutub Minar.
** This is again brought up when everyone has to do circus-related tasks as a Detour (Start the Giggles or Stop the Wobbles), including one team member having to lift the other up by the torso for the former.
** In the finale, they are last to arrive at the Malaysian hip hop routine challenge. They learn it and earn their clue on their first try, putting them right back into the lead going into the final puzzle.
* SiblingTeam: One of three teams this season and one of two all-female ones.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Tarantulas for Hayley, who couldn't even bring herself to say the word.

!!Alli and Angie Simpson
A model/singer/actress and her mother. They are both related to Cody Simpson and rose to fame that way.

Tropes applying to them:
* BreastAttack: After finishing last on the first Borneo leg, when Angie learns that it was a non-elimination leg, she ends up punching Beau in the chest.
* DentedIron: Angie had a terrible time with the Stop the Wobbles Detour, due to her left foot being operated on prior to the competition.
* {{Determinator}}: Angie managed to keep going during the mask Roadblock despite tripping over on a stump and
suffering a back issue.
* DownToTheLastPlay:
** Managed to beat Bec and Kate for first place in a running race to the second Malaysian leg.
** Managed to beat Jana and Cor in a footrace to the third Cambodian leg, despite Angie's noted injury complaints and Alli suffering a leech bite.
* DumbBlonde:
--> '''Alli:''' That was a dumb blonde moment...and I'm not even blonde.
* ForeignQueasine: [[https://twitter.com/amazingrace_au/status/1704390202821603603 "Penis of the bull".]]
* OneSteveLimit: Averted with Dane and Bow, with which they share a surname.
* PseudoCrisis: Them falling into the river in Borneo when the audience knew Angie had previous foot and back injuries.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: They forget their bags before heading to the Make It Slick Detour. This is usually a common Race mistake...but the duo were in first at that point and didn't lose any places even though they had to go back to grab them.
* ShoutOut: They mention they feel like they feel like they're doing the Bondi Beach Walk from ''Series/KathAndKim'' while walking with Emma and Hayley in India. They ask where Peter is, then where Brett[[note]]Peter's character from ''Kath and Kim''[[/note]] is...while the camera switches to Peter and Frankie in their taxi.

!!Harry Jowsey and Teddy Briggs
Best friends and dating show contestants - Harry was on the Netflix show ''Too Hot to Handle'' while Teddy was on ''Series/LoveIsland Australia''.

Tropes applying to them:
* AmbiguouslyGay: Having a "romantic raft ride" down a river in Borneo.
* ClusterFBomb: Harry and Teddy get really mad at a producer after they are assigned a Speed Bump, leading to a bleeped series of profanities.
* DownToTheLastPlay: Managed to get revenge on Darren and Tristan by beating them in a footrace to the ninth leg for second place.
* DumbBlonde: They fall into this stereotype more than a bit. After encountering an Indian woman begging for money, they flirt with her for a bit...only for Harry to think that was one of the challenges.
* ForeignQueasine: Fried tarantulas in Cambodia.
* FriendlyRivalry: Share this trope with Darren and Tristan in Borneo.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: They say "I love you, bro" a lot, but they mean it platonically - both are proven to be heterosexual after appearing on dating shows. Part of their emotional openness ties into their choice of charity, Beyond Blue (a mental health organisation).
* InSeriesNickname: Beau calls them "reality TV stallions" at one point and they end up using it a few times.
* {{Malaproper}}: Teddy calls leeches "lychees" before being corrected in Cambodia.
* MrFanservice: Aside from being the alpha male team, they play this role. They even play it up when a lady approaches their tuktuk for money in New Delhi.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Despite their impressive physiques, their performance after the the first few episodes were laughably pathetic. They made numerous mental errors, refused to eat a tarantula due to being vegan, have no DIY skills, got into a fight with a producer over a Speed Bump that required brute strength, lost a footrace to a middle aged man who admitted to being winded, and only beat him in a rematch with a head start.
* HiddenDepths: Harry lived on a mango farm before joining the world of dating shows, so he was used to getting dirty.
* NoSenseOfDirection: They became victims of this trope after getting out of India. This even lead them to the monk they needed to give an offering to in Angkor Wat...but they didn't yet have the offering at that point, so the monk stared at them in confusion instead of giving them the clue.
* ShirtlessScene: In Borneo because kayaking and rafting was involved. Also in their clip in the opening credits.
* ShoutOut: While searching for lotus flowers in a farm, they both simultaneously said, "[[Franchise/{{Shrek}} What are you doin' in my swamp?]]" as a way to lighten up the tension from being in last place and being angry from the Speed Bump they just did.

!!Jana Pittman and Cornelis Rawlinson
A former Olympian and her son.

Tropes applying to them:
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Cornelis, who was only 16 when his time on the race began.
* DownToTheLastPlay:
** Due to Cor forgetting his bum bag and Jana forgetting the backpacks, Jana and Cor managed to outlast George and Pam in a boat race in the third leg.
** A more positive example: Jana and Cor managed to beat Alli and Angie for first place at the third Malaysian leg.
* EliminationMontage: The team gets one.
* FailedASpotCheck: Forgot their bags twice in one leg...even though Jana liked to nag Cor about having them on his person.
* HiddenDepths: Jana mentions she's a doctor in some dialogue immediately preceding her EliminationMontage. This is on top of her status as a former Olympian and mother of 6 which she mentioned in legs prior to this.
* TheLoad: Cor became this during the Bollywood dancing Intersection.
* NoSenseOfDirection: Downplayed compared to other examples, but they had to travel on foot to the first location in leg 9 and missed it.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Cornelis is commonly (including when his name is on-screen) referred to as "Cor".
* SpotlightStealingSquad: They took over the role of "bickering duo" from George and Pam once the latter had been eliminated and become this in doing so. Darren and Tristan and Harry and Teddy both lampshade how much they fight at different points in the Race.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Cor is the only one out of Jana, Harry, Teddy and him to crossdress at the Bollywood dancing Intersection.

!!Bec Judd and Kate Twigley
A model/presenter and her sister.

Tropes applying to them:
* [[AscendedFanboy Ascended Fangirl]]: The two declared themselves fans of the Race in the first episode.
* CrazyPrepared: Bec and Kate reveal themselves as germophobes when the audience discovers they've brought a bunch of sanitizing products, including a UV wand...That definitely came in handy after they faced a challenge where they had to stick cow poo to a brick wall with their bare hands.
* JackOfAllTrades: Bec describes herself as many professions including "brand ambassador".
* SiblingTeam: One of three teams this season and one of two all-female ones.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Despite them being fans of the show, Bec knew her downfall would be - if they ever encountered it - a spider challenge. Surely enough, this ended up doing them in.

!!"King" George and Pamela Mladenov
A two-time ''Series/AustralianSurvivor'' contestant and his sister.

Tropes applying to them:

* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: George occasionally treated Pam as such.
* BornUnlucky: Had to finish most of their bananas to find a blue one.
* OhCrap: George didn't realise there was another area with lanterns until Harry and Teddy left with the last clue.
* RealityShowGenreBlindness: Zigzagged and PlayedForLaughs - alliances work fine on ''Survivor'', but they generally don't fare very well on the ''Race''. George tries to strike an alliance with Jana and Cornelis at the very beginning, only to be left behind soon afterwards.
** Furthermore, George and Pam plus Bec and Kate opt to take the hour penalty for not doing the Bollywood dancing Intersection. Taking the penalty frequently does not work out for the teams involved unless you get lucky (which George and Pam were at this stage with 3 teams behind them), although doing it at an Intersection does increase your chance of survival through sheer probability.
* SiblingRivalry: The siblings frequently came to blows with each other, with Pam bursting into tears as a result. Several teams found their dramatic arguments entertaining.
* SiblingTeam: One of three teams this season and the only mixed gender one.
* TooDumbToLive: They thought a woman painted on to a wall was a mannequin.

!!Ben and Jackie Gillies
A married couple of a musician and a [[Series/TheRealHousewives Real Housewife]] of Melbourne.

Tropes applying to them:
* BirthdayEpisode: After Ben and Jackie manage to check in during the third leg in India, Beau surprises Jackie with a birthday cake and he and Ben sing "Happy Birthday" to her.
* BornLucky: Got the blue banana on the first try.
* EpicFail: Jackie notes she sucks at playing the game at the Stick It Detour...while the footage shows her striking out.

!!Peter and Frankie Rowsthorn
A comedian/actor and his daughter.

Tropes applying to them:
* ChekhovsSkill: Having known his way around a moped, Peter manages to clear the Tuk Tuk Driving Roadblock in one attempt.
* GenderBlenderName: Frankie and the resultant nickname "Frank".
* GenkiGirl: Frankie, who encouraged her dad to have "dance breaks" with her.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Despite being much older than Frankie, Peter towers over his daughter.
* MidBattleTeaBreak: Peter took a photo for an Indian family group during the third Indian leg.

!!Grant and Cheryl (Chezzi) Denyer
A TV show host and his partner.

Tropes applying to them:
* AscendedFanboy: Downplayed, but it's mentioned a few times how Grant tried to sell Chezzi on the Race as a giant holiday. [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNdeLXS2z4Va9BuB3tTA6Lw Chezzi's podcast]] additionally reveals Chezzi had seen the Race beforehand, so she knew what she was signing up for.
* BigYes: Lets out an extended "YEAH!" in the 10 Play previews and in an early episode.
* {{Fainting}}: Grant and Chezzi both fall victim to the Indian heat during the Bollywood dancing Intersection, but it's Grant who takes them out of the Race. Chezzi's podcast reveals the heatstroke was probably the thing that tipped Grant into the danger zone, but there was mold present at the Make It Stick challenge[[note]]Grant has a mold allergy[[/note]], plus Grant had already been holding on to the bags and giving Chezzi his water.
* Foreshadowing: You get a lot of warning about how hot it is in India as part of their storyline, including on-screen notes about the temperature in degrees Celsius and huge sweat patches on several Racers (including Darren switching his shirt to a white Taj Mahal one he presumably picked up as a replacement to his beige one).
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Chezzi.
* SatelliteCharacter: Chezzi didn't get a lot of spotlight until the end of her time on the Race, where she had a tearful montage about possibly losing Grant (plus discussing how she wanted to see the Taj Mahal, a ChekhovsGun as to Grant's heatstroke stopping them from seeing it at the mat). Justified, as Grant [[ChewingTheScenery stole most of the scenes he was in through sheer energy and jokes]].
* ShoutOut: Grant wanted to use his gold Logie as a ''Survivor'' idol and pass on the Make It Stick Detour ([[VisualPun with the camera panning over George and Pam for a second when he said it]]).
* SirSwearsALot: Relatively downplayed for Australian television, but more than, say, George, who questioned whether he could say "shit" in a challenge all about it.
--> '''Grant (about Indian heat after arriving from negative 4 degrees Celsius):''' It was like we'd crawled into Satan's arsehole.
* WorkplaceAcquiredAbilities: Grant won ''Dancing with the Stars'' twice, so if it hadn't been for the heatstroke, he would've done pretty well.

!!Dane and Bow Simpson
A comedian and his dad.

Tropes applying to them:
* CoolOldGuy: Bow. Despite his brief time on the show, he's the oldest Amazing Race contestant in Australia and he completed his only check in despite his knee brace.
* OneSteveLimit: Downplayed when it comes to the host, since the names sound the same but are spelt differently.
** Averted with Alli and Angie, with which they share a surname.
