Lucy manages to figure out she's only strong in wide open areas to use her portal magic and being able to deflect her attacks back at her opponent. So she beats her by luring her into a storeroom that too cramped to maneuver in and hits her with a strong blow. This robs her of her sword allowing Juvia to finish her off via wrapping her with water and hitting her with a Water Nebula.
