[[folder:The Player Characters]]
!!Yuki Tatsumaki (Twinwolf)

* BrokenBird: Just as broken, if not more, as Noriko is.
* ChainsawGood: Her favoured weapon.
* CloudCuckooLander: Seems to believe that life operates like an anime. Again, see StepfordSmiler as to why this isn't entirely true.
* CombatMedic: She's a highly effective healer with hard hitting attacks.
* GenkiGirl: Extremely hyperactive and almost bounces around the walls. [[StepfordSmiler This is a facade.]]
* StepfordSmiler: Her {{Chuunibyou}} behaviour is a form of escapism that helps her ignore her depressing home life.
* UnskilledButStrong: She lacks technique and situational awareness but makes up for it with crushing offensive power and the ability to heal herself.

!!Noriko Fuuri (King Murdoc)
->"I'd be more fine if someone actually told me what was going on and my friend wasn't a pervert that lurked in maid cafes!"
A girl who [[TheCassandra saw things no one else did]] even before her Awakening. Fights with a spear and wind magic, when she's not at school or working at the maid cafe.

* BrokenBird: The combination of her childhood, bullying and the "hallucinations" she suffered have broken her down into a cynical person, the combined rage of which she takes out on Minato.
* TheCassandra: Already was capable of seeing Aramitama from a young age, but it was dismissed as mental illness. This is one of the reasons why she became a BrokenBird and one of the things she calls out Minato on for not confirming her suspicions.
* CallingYourAttacks: Typically calls out her Hypers before she uses them.
* GreenEyedMonster: A platonic version of this towards Minato and Faith, due to Minato tending to Faith's problems before hers. Justified by the fact that she knew Minato prior and is therefore ticked off that Minato [[AlwaysSaveTheGirl is watching out for a girl he barely knows]] instead of someone he's known for years.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Two bosses and counting. Her [[BiggerIsBetter Vasavi Shakti]] special is often applied as well. Often ends with enemies PinnedToTheWall (and/or floor.)
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Minato and Yuki's Red.
* ThemeNaming: All of her Hypers are named after [[Myth/HinduMythology astras]] and have a function loosely correlating with their namesakes.
* YouNeverDidThatForMe: Her thoughts toward Minato, which are funneled into a WhatTheHellHero speech towards him.
* WhatTheHellHero: Calls Minato out on his antics, including him never checking on her for being injured during the fight with Lord Humungous, his [[CasualKink maid fetish]] and never trying to warn her about the Aramitama.

!!Minato Kumon [=(ElfCollaborator)=]
->. "I'm trying to be a hero. That doesn't mean I'm perfect, and it doesn't mean I'm not human. But I'll try."
The rich scion of an ancient Aramitama-fighting family. He used to operate as Masked Knight Gaia by himself before meeting Shef and Yoake, and then the rest of the group.

* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: Noriko seems to think this of Minato and [[LoveInterest Faith]], factoring this into her WhatTheHellHero speech against him. The one time he actually does so is {{Justified}}; Faith suffered a HeroicBSOD and Minato simply did what he thought he had to.
* BerserkButton: The strong picking on the weak, explaining why he became a BullyHunter. Also, his friends being hurt or being accused of not watching out for his friends; this latter one is the one thing which Minato yells at Noriko back over.
** Less seriously, maid costumes being destroyed, which is enough for him to go into an UnstoppableRage on the Mononoke responsible.
* BullyHunter: To the extent that he was almost booted from school due to beating up bullies. The Aramitama are simply more powerful bullies for Minato.
** Exemplified during the first boss fight, where Minato's BerserkButton is revealed to be the strong bullying the weak. So much so that he then proceeds to charge the boss and severely wound it, fuelled by [[AppliedPhlebotinum magic]] and sheer determination.
* CasanovaWannabe: Flirts with most of the female cast. Only [[LoveInterest Faith]] seems to answer positively.
* CasualKink: Minato ''really'' likes maids. So much so he hangs out at a MaidCafe every day and goes into an UnstoppableRage when an Aramitama destroys the [[ItMakesSenseInContext maid costume]] Faith was shoved into.
* ChivalrousPervert: His personality in a nutshell. He's not averse to the female gender, but a person in danger is more concerning for him. He's also very genuinely chivalrous towards the girls he shows interest in, as seen in his behaviour towards Faith.
** Exemplified when he reveals just ''why'' he hangs around the MaidCafe Noriko and Yuki work at: he had no other way of actually ''helping'' Noriko with Kouta except by giving her money through tips. And then proceeds to offer her a job. [[BrickJoke As his maid.]]
* CoolBike: Not just any bike either, but ''[[Myth/HinduMythology Vimana]]'' in bike form.
* {{Determinator}}: Another one of his defining character traits, even playing into his defensive strategy. Minato may not be the most physically durable, but he has enough willpower to power straight through even severe injuries, a fact which plays into the first boss fight.
* FieryRedhead: Not normally, as he generally acts suave and cool when not around [[CasualKink maids]]. However, when his BerserkButton is pushed....
* Fiction500: The Kumon family are very rich people, courtesy of having worked with the government to protect Japan from Aramitama. Minato's Gaia Driver is partially a result of funding from the Kumon Group.
* {{Foil}}: To Shef. Shef is a highly paranoid former arms dealer who freelances with the Demon Hunter Society, Minato is an idealistic young adult who fights to be a hero. This also extends to their playstyle; Shef is a highly versatile gunslinger, whereas Minato is a MightyGlacier who relies on strong melee attacks.
* HenshinHero: A {{Homage}} to ''Franchise/KamenRider'' and, to an extent, ''Franchise/{{GARO}}''.
* HeroicRROD: Dai-Henshin inflicts this on Minato, as he exposes himself to pure magic from the leylines to grant himself more speed and strength at the cost of severely injuring himself. [[{{Determinator}} He does it twice in a row to severely wound the first boss anyway.]]
* HyperspaceArsenal: Minato's Requiem.
* IdealHero: Minato is ''trying'' to be this. As seen with [[WhatTheHellHero Noriko]] and Faith, he doesn't always succeed. Still, he comes the closest to this among the group.
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: The reason he doesn't tell Noriko about the Aramitama prior to her Awakening, along with the justified reason that [[AmbiguousDisorder her hallucinations may well just be mental illness and not signs of being an Awakened]], and thus doing so would just make her worse. Noriko calls him out on it.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Minato's {{Motif}} and something he tries to emulate. His preferred weapon is even [[Literature/TheSongOfRoland Durandal]].
* MightyGlacier: Very slow-moving in comparison to the rest of the party, but very hard-hitting and very resilient. [[ExplosiveOverclocking Dai-Henshin]] mitigates this and turns him into a JackOfAllStats instead, and [[CoolBike Vimana]] lets him teleport around short distances.
* MultiMeleeMaster: Has no ranged options whatsoever, instead specializing in very close-range attacks with various weapons. It seems that Minato can actually summon ranged weapons using his Requiem, but prefers to fight at melee and leave the ranged fighting to [[FragileSpeedster Noriko]] and [[SquishyWizard Faith]].
* NiceGuy: One of the nicest members of the team, refusing even to yell back at Noriko during her WhatTheHellHero speech....until she accuses him of never watching out for his friends. Even then he remains purely in TranquilFury.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Noriko's Blue, in a literal sense as [[WordOfGod Minato's player]] confirmed Minato was designed [[FieryRedhead appearance-wise]] and [[ChivalrousPervert personality-wise]] to match up with Noriko.
* RousingSpeech: Gives one to Faith after her HeroicBSOD. It doesn't entirely chime well with her, but it does the job.
* ShoutOut: His whole character is one to ''Franchise/KamenRider'', including the concept of the [[Series/KamenRiderDouble Gaia Memory]], the place where the world stores all memories and the source of his HyperspaceArsenal. The Gaia Memory itself is also a ShoutOut to [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Unlimited Blade Works]].
** To cement this, the theme he even plays as he heads to his date with Faith is the theme from the very first ''Kamen Rider'' show, ''Let's Go Rider Kick''.
** His Requiem is essentially [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Shirou's Projection magecraft]], and Minato himself is a red-headed hero who relies partially on sheer determination to win fights.
* StuffBlowingUp: Minato can cause his Regalia to explode to absorb attacks or damage opponents.

!!Shef Willems (Strider)
->". . .Oh. . .God damn it."

* GrowingUpSucks: A bit of an idealist as a child, and wanted to be a scientist of a hero. Didn't see himself becoming what he is right now certainly.
* {{Foil}}: To Minato. Shef is TheCynic of the group and a former arms trafficker, Minato is attempting to be an IdealHero and is generally cheery. This extends to their fighting styles; Shef is TheGunslinger and uses portals to make impossible shots, Minato relies on swords and other melee weapons to overwhelm an enemy through sheer force.
** He is also this to Yoake, who similarly foils him as a cheery BunnyEarsLawyer with an obsession with [[Manga/{{Keijo}} the martial art of Keijo]] and is also, similarly to Minato, a melee fighter to his gunslinger.
* NominalHero: Shef works with the team of heroes simply for the protection of the organization that runs the group. Thus he may be seen as a hero to outsiders, but he, Wintermute, and Neuromancer know that he's not in this for altruism.
* OnlySaneMan: Pretty much set up to be this.
* SuperPersistentMissile: His Tracer attack, not that it comes up much since foes are rarely able to dodge it even once.
* ThinkingUpPortals: Has the ability to create portals.
* TheCynic: A highly pessimistic man who looks down a little bit on what he considers the naive idealism of his teammates.

!!Yoake o-Shiri (spümpkin)

* AnotherDimension: Her Requiem allows her to transport the whole battlefield onto a Keijo playing field.
* AssKicksYou: Neccessitated by her use of Keijo as her fighting style.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She's a skilled fighter and very knowledgeable at physics and biology but is eccentric and lacking in tact.
* Fiction500: Is actually nearly, if not equally, as rich as Minato is.
* PassionateSportsGirl: Specifically, about Keijo.

!!Faith Ai Tatsumaki (Powder Miner)

* EagleLand: Though the player is an American, Faith was explicitly created with Japanese stereotypes of Americans in mind, in an [[ParodiedTrope affectionate parody of them]]; Faith explicitly nails several of the stereotypes, such as brashness, friendliness, and excited loudness [[PhenotypeStereotype as well as the blonde blue-eyed stereotype of Americans]], but she is decidedly a positive character, making her a Type One.
* GlassCannon: Faith [[BeamSpam fires special attack lasers and explosions left and right]] but has nearly no defense even with her Regalia, and often weakens or hurts herself with the blowback of her more powerful attacks.
* FreakOut: When Lord Humungous nearly kills her, she flies into a half-berserk rage out of fear.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: A NiceGirl par excellence and as blonde as they come.
* ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe: Towards Minato.
* MsFanservice: Has a very nice figure which her player repeatedly emphasises.
* NiceGirl: A very sweet and bubbly girl who gets along with most of the group.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: Takes constant ClothingDamage and gets shoved into various costumes against her own will.

[[folder:Important [=NPCs=]]]
!!Wintermute
* BenevolentAI
* DeadpanSnarker

!!Neuromancer
* BenevolentAI

!!Tsukasa Kurosaki

* BunnyEarsLawyer: Is quite flirty, lives in a messy apartment and dresses in a {{Stripperiffic}} manner. Is also possibly one of the world's leading experts on the supernatural, and the leading researcher on the Gaia Memory that provides Minato's abilities.
* CoolBigSis: Is this to Minato.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Aramitama and Allies]]
!!High Executioner Jason Humungus
->"My name Jason Humungus, High Executioner of the Old Lords. Be you my hangman, or my prey?"
The first Aramitama hunted down by the party. A combination of [[Franchise/FridayThe13th Jason Voorhees]] and [[Film/MadMax2TheRoadWarrior Lord Humungus.]]

* BadassBoast: See above. [[MadeOfIron He proceeds to live up to it.]]
* LightningBruiser: As well as [[ShockAndAwe the more literal meaning,]] Jason hit hard, could dash at very high speed, and took more punishment than the average main battle tank before finally dying.
* MadeOfIron: Takes a combined assault from the whole party, and even survives an exploding sword to the heart, courtesy of Minato.
* VillainousValor: WordOfGod states that he didn't try to consume any innocent souls during the battle with the group as it would have gone against his code.
