The son of hyperspace prospector Spence Leffbruk and who accompanied his father on his travels. The Leffbruks were stranded by fellow prospector Radicaz "Sunshine" Dobbs on the hostile world, Gloam, after Sunshine discovered a mysterious planet in Wild Space.
----
* BoldExplorer: ''Shadows of Starlight'' reveals that Dass became a Republic Pathfinder when he grew up.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: Sunshine Dobbs marooned him and Spence on Gloam because he wanted to keep their discovery of Planet X to himself.
* MissingMom: He reveals in ''Quest for Planet X'' that his mother died in a shuttle accident when he was a baby.
* {{Robinsonade}}: Rather than being trapped on a DesertedIsland, he and his father struggle to survive on a DeathWorld whose inhabitants have been turned into feral monsters. They eventually get off Gloam with the help of Jedi Master Sho's Republic Pathfinder Team. Before that, they were marooned on an [[EldritchLocation even stranger planet]].
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He and Spence are among the few people who found Planet X, yet the Leffbruk family has only been prominent so far in Phase II middle-grade novels. His family's discovery would become a significant lead for the Jedi Order 150 years later when Yoda tries to gather clues on how to defeat the Nameless when the Nihil start weaponizing them. Unfortunately, a now-insane Azlin Rell tries to make sure that Yoda doesn't ever find Planet X by dropping a patrol ship onto a city where the Leffbruks' descendants settled and destroying evidence of their discovery.
* WellDoneSonGuy: In ''Quest for Planet X'', he seeks to return to Planet X to retrieve the family's ship ''Silverstreak'' to make his father proud, even though Spence would rather just completely move on from Sunshine's betrayal to keep Dass safe. This results in him competing against his father when Dass teams up with Sky Graf to look for Planet X as part of a hyperspace race, while Spence is being sponsored by the Graf family's rivals, the San Tekkas. As ''Path of Vengeance'' shows, this mission would have been AllForNothing from his end, as Sunshine's expedition with the Path of the Open Hand used the ''Silverstreak'' to escape from Planet X.

!The Graf Family

A family of hyperspace explorers who were rivals of the San Tekka family during the Hyperspace Rush. Alongside their rivals they became one of the wealthiest families in the galaxy during the High Republic Era thanks to selling their navigation data on stable hyperspace routes. They founded Graf Holdings, Incorporated to oversee their business ventures and built the mobile space station ''Everbloom'' to serve as their roving family estate.

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Graf family's stature had been reduced significantly. Although still well-known, their wealth was seemingly reduced and they worked as cartographers mapping Wild Space.

!!!'''Species:''' Human

->'''Appearances:''' ''[[AudioPlay/StarWarsTheBattleOfJedha The Battle of Jedha]]''

A member of the Graf family who was outcast in his youth for a series of misdemeanors. After Morton San Tekka is killed in a bombing during the Eiram-E'ronoh peace summit on Jedha, Tilson is appointed to take his place as mediator.
----
* AgentProvocateur: He is hired by the Path of the Open Hand to sabotage peace negotiations between Eiram and E'ronoh, bringing their war to Jedha.
* AssholeVictim: The Mother kills him when he tries to flee with her and the Path on the ''Gaze Electric''. It's hard to feel sorry for him since she hired him to start the conflict he was trying to escape from in the first place.
* BlackSheep: Even for a family with as negative a reputation as the Grafs, Tilson is slimy enough that the family has disowned him for unspecified misdemeanors.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Not only was he disowned by the Graf family for a number of misdemeanors (which is saying something given the Grafs have a negative reputation in the High Republic era) and he jumps at the opportunity to one-up the San Tekkas by taking one's part after he was killed, he's also a war profiteer that is working with the Path of the Open Hand to instigate a battle on Jedha and keep the ForeverWar between Eiram and E'ronoh going.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: The Mother has him killed to cover up the fact that she paid him to instigate the Battle of Jedha, both to keep him from publicly testifying against the Path and to hide that she worked with a Graf from the rest of the Path. While the Jedi [[RevealingCoverUp suspect that the Path killed him]] given their other discovered activity on the planet, the fact that there was a chaotic battle going on where he was killed also makes it hard to prove for sure that the Mother did it.
* TheMole: He is secretly a member of the Path of the Open Hand, having orchestrated Morton's death and the Battle of Jedha to tarnish the Jedi's reputation and lift up the Path.
* {{Slimeball}}: Even without taking his true allegiances into account, he's transparently willing to capitalize on the death of a member of his family's rivals.
* SmugSnake: He thinks because of his wealth and family name, he holds sway over a lot of people, including Force cults like the Path of the Open Hand and the Brothers of the Ninth Door. Both show they care very little for money and only see him as a useful idiot. Never mind that his family has disowned him.
* TooDumbToLive: When he tries to escape from the chaos he instigated on Jedha by hitching a ride on the ''Gaze Electric'' with the Mother, she refuses his request because of how much bad PR working with a Graf would give her. When he tries to persuade her to take him with her on the grounds that he's a loose end and could publicly implicate her and the Path if arrested, she simply shoots him, knowing that it would be difficult to tell who killed him due to the chaos going on.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's hard to discuss his character without bringing up his role in instigating the Battle of Jedha.
* WarForFunAndProfit: His involvement in the Path mostly stems from greed, even selling some Graf war droids to both Eiram and E'ronoh. The Path also bought a stockpile of the droids to fight against the Jedi.

A young pilot in the Graf prospecting family who was determined to be the first to reach the mysterious Planet X.
----
* BlatantLies: They claim that the ''Brightbird'' is their ship, but Rooper is incredibly skeptical since some goons were trying to take it back from them on Batuu. What Sky didn't tell her at first is that they ''worked'' on the ''Brightbird'', but it actually belongs to Sky's brother Helis, and he wants his ship back.
* BoldExplorer: As a way of trying to make a name for themself in the Graf family at as early an age as possible, they aspire to be the first to chart Planet X to the public. However, the real reason they are trying to find Planet X is that they are trying to find out what really happened to their father.
* DisappearedDad: Their father was supposedly killed by pirates while on the Frontier. The truth is that he disappeared while looking for Planet X, and the real reason Sky is trying to find the planet is to find out his fate. By the end of ''Quest for Planet X'', they have given up their chance to find the titular planet and closure on their father's fate to help Rooper save lives at Dalna.
* GenderInclusiveWriting: They are non-binary and referred to with they/them pronouns.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: They seem to be an ambitious youth with ulterior motives, as seems to be typical for the High Republic-era Grafs. In truth, they just want to find out what really happened to their father when the rest of the family decided to give up looking for him and presumed him dead. With enough convincing from both Rooper and Dass, they decide to give up the search for Planet X to prioritize to saving lives on Dalna when the Path of the Open Hand is planning for war.
* TeenGenius: By the age of 15, they were already a skilled pilot and tech genius.
* WhiteSheep: Throughout ''The High Republic'' publishing initiative, individual Graf family members have been portrayed as incredibly ambitious at best, with some of them secretly collaborating with the [[ArcVillain Phase villains]] for profit. While they are ambitious, Sky has a much more sympathetic hidden motive for finding Planet X than they let on at first. When confronted about the fact that they are putting their own needs before others, they decide to drop the search for their father in order to help save lives on Dalna by repairing a sabotaged comm buoy. This is ultimately a downplayed example, as not only was Tilson (the aforementioned Path collaborator) considered the BlackSheep of the family at the time, the other Grafs (Helis in particular) were only antagonistic towards them on account of Sky taking their ship without permission, and Sky makes up with them once they explain their reasons for doing so.

The matriarch of the Graf family, she resides on the ''Everbloom'' and oversees all operations of Graf Holdings.
----
* BlatantLies: Her claims that Xylan acted alone in cooperating the Nihil and that she did not know how the Nihil were able to ambush the Jedi once they arrived on ''Everbloom'' are so obviously false that the Jedi don't even pretend to believe it. For Catriona's part, she clearly knows that it's a useless lie but one that she has to give.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Runs Graf Holdings and uses her assets to build Lourna Dee's state-of-the-art flagship and fund Chancey Yarrow's research into a gravity well generator.
* FacialMarkings: One side of her face has blue swirls tattooed across it.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Despite being elderly, her face is described as being smooth and without age lines.
* PlayingBothSides: The Grafs are noted to have helped finance Starlight Beacon but are working with elements of the Nihil as well, all under Catriona's command.
* YouWouldntShootMe: During her confrontation with Cohmac, Vernestra, and Jordanna, Catriona is confidant and tells them she knows they won't harm her since they are Jedi. Jordanna then reveals she is actually a San Tekka, which causes Catriona to [[OhCrap take a step back and begin to worry]] due to the long enmity between their families.

Grandson of Catriona, Xylan is a theoretical hyperspace expert who ran the Graf family's operations on Coruscant.
----
* AffablyEvil: Despite his smugness and connections to the Nihil, Xylan can also be quite friendly and appreciative of other's skills. He also honors his word, arranging for Syl to get a new top-of-the-line ship as agreed despite having repeatedly lied to and betraying her.
* ConsummateLiar: If he is speaking, it is a good chance that he is lying about something. There are a few moments where Syl thinks he is finally being completely honest only for it to be revealed that Xylan had more lies and deceptions waiting to be exposed.
* CreepyBlueEyes: He has extremely blue eyes that Syl immediately clock as unnatural and usually the result of beauty treatments. She finds them to be extremely unnerving.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: An amoral businessman he may be, but Xylan loves his Grand Theljian snow dog, Plinka. Several characters note that Xylan must have some good traits buried deep down if [[LickedByTheDog such a friendly creature like Plinka adores him]]. ''Defy the Storm'' reveals that Xylan also has a husband, [[spoiler:Cair San Tekka]], who he absolutely loves even if their marriage did involve corporate espionage and blackmail.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He despises the Nihil, particularly after being forced to serve them on the ''Lightening Crash'' for a year. Xylan finds them crude, stupid, and is disgusted by their casual and wanton cruelty that has no purpose.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Several characters note his attractiveness but are turned off by his personality and actions, which include collaborating with the Nihil, leading to who knows how many deaths.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: One of the first things Syl notices about him are how expensive and well-tailored his clothes are, thinking to herself that they likely cost more than she had made in the entire past year.
* MistakenForProstitute: His style of clothing makes Sylvestri assume he is an expensive pleasure escort when she first meets him, an error that does not amuse him.
* NonIdleRich: Although his family is worth several fortunes and Xylan was given a highly profitable business to run on Coruscant, he became an expert in hyperspace and studied theoretical possibilities surrounding it.
* PragmaticVillainy: Part of the reason he hates the Nihil is that he finds their tactics to be bad for profits. The Stormwall inhibits trade and denies vital resources from coming in and out of the blockaded regions, which is bad for a group of pirates. Xylan hopes to take down the Stormwall so that the Graf family's regular grifts and exploitative business operations can resume for profit.
* TheScapegoat: His grandmother tries to place the blame for the family's collaboration with the Nihil upon him, and even leaves him to be taken captive by the pirates when the Stormwall goes up. Xylan is annoyed, but doesn't resent her for it, knowing it only made sense from a business perspective and that eventually their influence would free his assets fully.
* SmugSnake: He is often smug and condescending to those around him.

Two cartographers, Auric and Rhyssa, who were mapping out Wild Space before being taken captive by the Empire, leaving behind their two children and their droid, Lina, Milo, and CR-8R, who would set off to go find them.
----
* AcePilot: Lina is described as having become this while serving the Rebel Alliance.
* AmbiguousSituation: It is currently unknown what became of Auric and Rhyssa after the ending of ''Adventures In Wild Space''. Lina's ship under the Rebel Alliance is named after Auric, which is usual indicator of DueToTheDead.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: They appear to bear Asian features.
* FamedInStory:
** Lina, Milo, and Crater joined the Rebel Alliance, with Lina not only becoming a rebel commander, but also the head curator of the Graf Archive.
** Additionally, ''The High Republic'' series reveals that the Graf clan were legendary cartographers and were rivals to the San Tekka clan.
* MeaningfulName:
** The family profession of the Graf family is carto''graph''y.
%%** Rhyssa's first name is derived from the prefix in [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risograph risograph]], a brand name photocopier/printer.
** May apply to Auric. [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orography Orography]] is the topological study of mountains. On the other hand, aurigraphy is the art of writing with/in gold.
** Lina's first name is used to make her full name resemble "line graph."
** May apply to Milo. A [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melograph melograph]] is a device used for analyzing and plotting the frequency characteristics of ethnic music, producing a graph that can be preserved and filed, like a recording of music. Alternatively, his name is referring to the measurement, a mile.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: According to ''Tales from Wild Space'', Lina and Milo joined the rebels and used the ''Star Herald'' to help.
* RedeemingReplacement: The Graf family during the Galactic Civil War era seems to be overall much more heroic than they were during the High Republic era, as many of them had a reputation for being {{Corrupt Corporate Executive}}s.
* UncertainDoom: At the end of "The Rescue", [[spoiler:the Graf family returns to Lothal to help the Bridgers in their transmissions. Considering Vizago has already stated not too long ago that the Empire will step in soon if Azadi can't find whoever's behind those transmissions and their associates... While it turns out the kids joined the Rebel Alliance and survived to old age in ''Adventures'', there's no word on what happened to the parents themselves. If it's any indication, Lina named her ship, the ''Auric'', after her father...
* UnexplainedRecovery: It turns out Lina and Milo are fine, as mentioned in ''Tales from Wild Space'' from the ''Adventures'' comics, having lived long enough for Lina to see her grand-nephew to adulthood. It's still unknown what happened in between besides that the two piloted the ''Star Herald'' during the Galactic Civil War.

The Grafs' family droid, made from makeshift parts.
----
* {{Expy}}: If Huyang had Threepio's temperament... he even gets a cute astromech pal in ''Tales from Wild Space''.
* LivingMacGuffin: The only reason why the Empire is going after Lina and Milo is because they have Crater with them. Why? Because Crater contains the data on Wild Space that they're looking for. If the Empire gets a hold of the contents in his head, it could put innocent life in Wild Space in danger and possibly get Rhyssa & Auric [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness killed]].
* LosingYourHead: He gets reduced to a head at one point for the rest of the series, but since the important information is in his head, it's all good as long as the Grafs don't literally lose him. He gets better.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: ''Tales from Vader's Castle'' reveals that during his time as a rebel, he befriended Chopper.
%%* RobotBuddy: To the Graf family. He gets passed down to Emil Graf.

The young co-pilot of the ''Vessel'' and adopted daughter of Scover Byne, the head of the Byne Guild. After the dissolution of the guild, Affie becomes the captain of the ''Vessel''.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Leox calls her "Little Bit".
* BrokenPedestal: While investigating the Byne Guild markings left on the Amaxine station she learns that not only is Scover using indentured laborers, but she's pressuring them into taking dangerous jobs, and that was what lead to the deaths of her birth parents. This revelation shakes her faith in Scover, and she tries to find evidence she can use to blackmail her adopted mother into stopping this practice, before losing that chance and turning her in to the Republic.
* HappilyAdopted: Affie is quite close to her foster-mother, and greatly looks up to her until she found out the truth about her role in her birth parents' deaths. "After the Fall" reveals that even though she feels she made the right call to expose Scover, she still feels sad that it had come to that.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: According to "After the Fall", her exposing Scover's crimes has earned her the ire of some of the other Byne Guild pilots, mainly because it put them out of a job. However, after the fall of Starlight Beacon and the creation of the Storm Wall, she's able to get at least one of these pilots to work with her to not only reunite the other Byne Guild pilots under a new banner, but create an information network to combat the Nihil.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With both Leox and Geode, who are both at least a few decades older than her.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Reporting Scover to the authorities ends her exploitation of her employees, but also left dozens of ships and their crews without the protection of the guild and its steady source of jobs. Upon realizing the unintentional hurt she caused, Affie feels guilty and wonders if she did the right thing, which inspired her to try and start a new, fairer organization with some of the former guild members.
* ParentalAbandonment: Her birth parents both died when she was very young on a mission for the Byne Guild, and was then adopted by Scover. Affie only later learned that they died at the Amaxine station doing a risky docking maneuver in hopes of completing one of Scover's tasks faster to pay off their debt.

A pilot with the Byne Guild and initial captain of the ''Vessel''.
----
* BunnyEarsLawyer: He's a spice-addicted weirdo who has a lot of odd spiritual ideas, but he's also a ridiculously good pilot, as shown by his maneuver to sneak past a Nihil Cloud without expending enough power to show up on their sensors. He also survives the destruction of Starlight Beacon after initially being thought dead, having used a parachute (which he notes have practically been made obsolete by emergency jets) after being pulled into Eiram's atmosphere.
* CelibateHero: Does not experience any sexual attraction or desire to others and identifies as asexual.
* ComicBookFantasyCasting: He resembles Creator/MatthewMcConaughey in the '90's, a deliberate choice by his creator, Claudia Gray. This extends to his voice in the audiobooks, [[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed which is a noticeable [=McConaughey=] impression.]]
* FunctionalAddict: While he is often on spice, it never affects his ability to pilot or carry out any of his other duties on the ship.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: In addition to being Affie's mentor he is also her friend, with the two being quite close despite Leox being a few decades older than her.
* LoonWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his quirky nature and more than a few odd beliefs, Leox is one of the most moral and heroic non-Jedi characters in the ''High Republic'' series.
* TheMentor: He was the only captain Affie apprenticed under who actually bothered to teach her things and didn't treat her as an annoyance, which is what caused her to ask to stay on as a permanent crew member.
* MoreSeniorSubordinate: He has decades more experience than Affie, but hands over duties as captain to her while continuing to offer guidance and advice. However, this causes a lot of other people to assume Leox is actually the one in charge and Affie is just a front.
* NewAgeRetroHippie: With his open shirt, spice chewing, and new age-y beliefs about "negative energy", he very much resembles a space hippie.

The navigator of the ''Vessel''.
----
* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace: One trait that makes Vintians like Geode highly valued is their ability to survive in the vacuum of space for up to two hours. Justified given that they are essentially living rocks and thus don't really breathe at all.
* BizarreAlienSenses: Despite not having a nose, he's somehow capable of smelling foul odors. For that matter, he can also see and hear despite having no eyes or ears.
* HiddenInPlainSight: According to Leox, Geode is a master of disguise. As Geode is already a rock and doesn't move when anyone's looking, his disguises require almost no effort.
* ImmuneToBullets: Vintians can choose to be magnetically sealed, which means that blaster bolts would just reflect back off them. Even if he isn't choosing to do so, a blaster bolt doesn't do much damage to Geode even on a direct hit thanks to him being a rock. When Koley Linn loses his marbles while Starlight Beacon is being destroyed and starts taking hostages, Geode gets between him and a baby. Having already had enough of this unassuming rock making a fool out of him, Koley tries to gun Geode down at point-blank range, [[TooDumbToLive forgetting that Affie had told him that Vintians can make themselves reflective]], killing himself in the process.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Geode only seems to move when nobody is looking, and that includes the reader.
* MarsNeedsWomen: According to Leox, he's flirted with women of various species (including Pikka Adren), even though most of them are sexually incompatible with him. However, he never goes further than that.
* MeaningfulRename: His nickname is Geode, because, well, he's a [[RockMonster Rock Person]].
* OffscreenTeleportation: As nobody familiar with Geode (nor the reader, even in visual media works) ever sees him move, a lot of characters get confused or freaked out when this featureless slab of rock suddenly shows up or disappears when they aren't looking. Basically, he's like a more comical version of the [[Series/DoctorWho Weeping Angels]].
* RockMonster: Vintians are described as being rock people. He looks like a literal slab of rock. No, really.
* ShrinkingViolet: According to Affie, he was once incredibly shy until he met another carbon-based lifeform. Now, Leox describes him as ''very'' forthcoming.
* TheUnpronounceable: His real name can only be pronounced by those without a mouth, so he just goes by "Geode" for the common folk.
* TheVoiceless: Geode does seem to speak, based on what's said by his crewmates, but he never does so on-page, likely due to RuleOfFunny.

The pilot and owner of the ''Switchback'' after her mother was apparently killed in a Nihil attack. Syl ends up involved in a dispute between the Graf and San Tekka clans over the Berenge Sector after encountering a mysterious hyperspace disturbance.
----
* ArcHero: She is a secondary protagonist of ''Out of the Shadows'', working alongside the regular young adult novel protagonists Reath and Cohmac while having a key connection to the villain of the novel.
* BrokenPedestal: Learning that her mom actually worked with the Nihil, lied about her past, and prioritized her work over everything else including her daughter hits Syl hard.
* DisappearedDad: Her father is never brought up.
* DrowningMySorrows: Learning that her mother had been a genius hyperspace theorist and lied repeatedly to Syl leads to her drinking an entire bottle of Toniray in an effort to cope.
* {{Expy}}: She was envisioned as being Han Solo "with worse luck" and "who can never catch a break".
* FishOutOfWater: She hates being Coruscant, viewing it extremely negatively in comparison to the frontier of the Outer Rim, particularly when interacting with the likes of Xylon Graff and Senator Ghirra Starros. Syl believes life is simpler on the frontier and that at least pirates and other dangerous elements are more straightforward and easier to deal with than the political and economic schemes and influence jockeying that the upper echelons of Coruscant society engage in.
* GoodWithNumbers: She can calculate hyperspace and fight calculations in her head without the aid of a navicomputer, which is good since the ''Switchback'''s is in desperate need of repair.
* HairTriggerTemper: She is fairly emotionally volatile, a trait she is well aware of but has difficulty dealing with. Syl can easily fall into a rage if one of her triggers is pushed and cause her to lash out at people who don't deserve it, like Vernestra when Syl realizes she is being used by Senator Starros as a pawn against Xylon and believes that a Jedi should know better and not even be involved in political feuds.
* LikeMotherUnlikeDaughter: Syl is an honest and blunt person who wears her heart on her sleeve and often starts rambling when her emotions got the better of her. Her mother Chancey tried to break her of those traits, and is a duplicitous liar who manipulates everyone around her.
* ICallItVera: Named her snub-nosed blaster rifle Beti after a doll she had as a child.
* {{Omniglot}}: She is very good at picking up and learning to at least understand languages, which is critical in a spacer's line of work.
* RejectedApology: When Jordanna tries to apologize for not coming with her, Syl is at first elated until she shrugs at the end of it, which she reads as a lack of care and is swiftly infuriated and rejects it.
* SpacePeople: She was born in space and considers her ship to be her home.
* WorkingWithTheEx: She finds herself working with Jordanna Sparkburn during the investigation into the Nihil, which leads the two to rekindling their relationship.

Syl's late mother and a prominent activist for free access to hyperspace lanes. She was seemingly killed by the Nihil, but in truth was developing interdictor technology for Lourna Dee's Tempest after they offered to fund her research.
----
* AbusiveParent: When Syl was younger Chancey would routinely drop her off with different contacts to have them train her in different fields. One of those contacts was Lourna Dee, who Chancey allowed to ruthlessly beat and injure Syl in order to teach her daughter how to fight.
* CoolMask: Wears a blue mask designed to resemble hyperspace as part of her Nihil gear.
* DarkActionGirl: She is a very capable martial artist and easily knocks down Nan with a well-placed kick to the throat that the spy didn't even see coming.
* DarkSecret: Her past, which she hid from her daughter and copilot. She is a genius theoretical hyperspace physics expert who was expelled from Carida Academy for lying about working on an experimental gravity well projector. Chancey subsequently continued working on the project with allies among the Nihil and Graf family.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: For all her faults, Chancey really does love Syl and does her best to keep her alive even while prioritizing her own research and survival. She guarantees at the end of ''Out of the Shadows'' that Syl gets a state-of-the-art ship from the Grafs and puts her in contact with Maz Kanata, who she knows will look out for her.
* FakingTheDead: In order to join the Nihil in secret, Chancey fakes her death at their hands.
* ForScience: Her work with the Nihil and Graf family is done with the hope of finally proving her theories correct and creating a gravity well projector, all without a single care for the consequences that might come from doing so.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: She is killed during the destruction of Starlight Beacon when Elzar cuts her in half in a rage.
* MartialArtistsAreAlwaysBarefoot: One of the first things Nan notes about her is how Chancey goes around barefoot, and ends up with one of those bare feet pinning her to ground mere moments later.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: She tries to save the occupants of Starlight Beacon during its destruction (if only to save her and Nan). However, due to her prior associations with the Nihil and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, she's brutally murdered by Elzar Mann, who is unaware that she wasn't behind the sabotage and realizes too late.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Nan notes that Chancey looks quite a bit younger than she actually is.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Turns out to have connections a number of key characters, including Maz Kanata, Lourna Dee, and the Graf family.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: While she was only present for two novels, her work on the Gravity's Heart space station led to the development of the Nihil's "Stormseeds" - weapons that are essentially hyperspace mines that can destroy entire fleets - which allows the Nihil to effectively take control of the Outer Rim after her death and the destruction of Starlight Beacon.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: She was mostly known for being a hyperspace lane activist, with only a few people knowing her past as a disgraced scientist who tried to weaponize hyperspace.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's difficult to discuss her character without revealing that she is actually alive and working with the Nihil and Graf family.

A distant relation of the San Tekka clan and their deputy on the small colony world of Tiikae. Jordanna had a brief relationship with Syl when she stayed on Tiikae, and the two were reunited while investigating the Nihil which resulted in Jordanna joining Syl's crew.
----
* ActionGirl: As a San Tekka deputy she is highly trained and skilled in combat to defend their interests on Tiikae. Jordanna has a lot of experience fighting raiders, the Nihil, and even Drengir.
* ActionPet: She is accompanied by Remy, a vollka discovered and raised by the San Tekka clan for more than a century, with Jordanna being her latest owner. Remy assists Jordanna in fighting and tracking while defending Tiikae.
* AffectionateNickname: Syl refers to her as "Jor".
* BrokenBird: Tiikae's declining importance after a comet disrupted the nearby hyperspace lanes means it gets little support, leaving Jordanna almost completely alone to deal with threats like the Zygerrians, Hutts, Drengir, and Nihil. She copes with this by becoming extremely stoic and closed-off, which got worse following her breakup with Syl.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: She has the "Merry Maker": a spinning saw that she throws and guides through the air with gloves that can easily slice through multiple people before returning back to Jordanna. It was originally a Nihil weapon that Jordanna claimed as her own.
* MarriedToTheJob: Her initial breakup with Syl was due to Jordanna not wanting to abandon her duties on Tiikae after Syl asked her to leave with her. She comes to regret this decision after all the terrible things she witnesses in the following months.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: She has no issue with responding to Nihil brutality in kind, and uses a Nihil weapon she calls the Merry Maker to slaughter them in combat by ruthlessly cutting them to ribbons.
* UnscrupulousHero: Her experiences fighting raiders like the Nihil on the frontier leave Jordanna with few lines she won't cross to stop them, but she remains firmly dedicated to protecting innocents despite her brutal and bloody methods, and the reason she leaves Tiikae is because she wants to find a way to actually help people.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: When Syl is captured by the Nihil, Jordanna is willing to go to extreme lengths to get her back, carving a bloody path through the Nihil research station she was being held on.
* WorkingWithTheEx: Ends up working with Syl while investigating the Nihil with the Jedi. This ends up getting them back together after they work out their differences and Jordanna decides to leave her job as deputy.
* YouAreInCommandNow: Her aunt was the deputy on Tiikae before her, but after she was killed in one of the attacks on the colony Jordanna became the new deputy.

An inspector from the Galactic Anti-Piracy Command during the High Republic era, who worked to quell turf war between Maz Kanata's gang and the Dank Graks.
----
* AmbiguouslyHuman: He looks human, but his skin has a slight purple tint and his respirator mask hides a lot of his face below his eyes.
* DatingCatwoman: When investigating to see if some pirates were going to make a move against the pirate hunters, he and the pirate Alak -- who was wanted in 20 systems -- fell in love with each other. However, their choices put them at odds with each other. He gets together with Alak again when he gives up the life of a pirate hunter while infiltrating the Dank Graks and chooses to be a pirate.
* EnemyMine: Despite being a pirate hunter and at odds with him, Alak suggests getting his help when he and Maz's crew learn that the Dank Graks are plotting to help sew chaos on Jedha. Sav even trusts him to hold on to one of her lightsabers while she's infiltrating the Graks.
* HandicappedBadass: He was exposed to toxic chemicals that damaged his lungs as a child, so he requires a respirator mask. This doesn't impair his abilities as a pirate hunter. Being similarly crippled and disadvantaged was one reason he fell in love with Alak (who was missing his legs).
* HeroAntagonist: As the main protagonists of ''The High Republic Adventures (2022)'' are pirates (albeit relatively harmless ones) and he's a pirate hunter, he serves as an obstacle for them a few times. However, he is willing to team up with them when it comes to the Dank Graks, who are far worse than Maz's gang.
* HeroesLoveDogs: He is frequently accompanied by a Corellian hound named Tanteek.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: When Sav has Tanteek bring him one of her lightsabers while on Jedha as a message, he notes that this is a sign that she trusts him. He then follows that up by noting that he's done nothing to earn the trust of her or Alak.
* InspectorJavert: Played with. He's not wrong that Maz's pirates are technically criminals, but he's also unnecessarily butting heads with them while investigating the Dank Graks, who are a much bigger threat to Takodana. Sav and Alak putting their trust in him is what convinces him to team up with them for good.
* LawmanGoneBad: Downplayed. While he technically goes "bad" on account of going from being a pirate hunter to a pirate, the pirate gang he joins (Maz's gang) are [[ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything far from the worst of them]]. As the pirates in question are also the story's protagonists, this is treated like a HeelFaceTurn.

* LastOfHerKind: Allegedly, she is the last known member of her people. An Imperial officer wonders how such a thing happens (a bit hypocritical, since the Empire has been behind a few near-extinctions of their own), and Loo Re Anno tells him that it usually requires some help. [[spoiler:Turns out this is not quite true; she is simply the last of her species in that dimension, the rest having fled to someplace between space and time using the gate at the end of the Dragon Void Run to escape their enemies]].

* {{Jerkass}}: Not a pleasant person to be around, to say the least. His racing tactics also leave a lot to be desired. 570A female human from Lothal who owns the ''Serendipity'', a 1550-LEX yacht converted into a mobile bar that frequently serves as a meeting place for spacers, smugglers, and bounty hunters. Delia is a long-time associate of Han Solo, although she likes Chewbacca better.
----
* ActionGirl: Keeps a sawed-off scattermaster under her bar just in case trouble ever breaks out, and also pilots the ''Serendipity'' quite well in combat situations.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Han, Chewie, and Ematt from Commander Beck when they are captured.
* CoolOldLady: Still owns the ''Serendipity'' thirty years after the Battle of Endor, and is still bugging Han about paying back his tab.
* CoolStarship: She got the ''Serendipity'' from a elderly Duros spacer who frequented the bar she worked at on Lothal. Despite not knowing him that well, he left her his ship when he passed, and she decided to turn the freighter into a mobile bar.
* GoodGuyBar: She may cater to the less reputable members of galactic society, but she prefers her clients to be among the more morally upstanding members of that community. Delia even allows her bar to be used as a meeting point for Rebel agents.
* SawedOffShotgun: Her scattershot that she keeps under her bar.

An engineer who barely escaped her world as it was subjugated by the First Order. Her ship ran out of fuel, forcing her to send out a distress call that would be found by the Colossus.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''N'''enavakasa '''N'''alor.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: As a child, she was kidnapped by pirates and sold as a slave to the Hutts. Using her own wits, she eventually managed to escape.
* EtTuBrute: When Neeku tries to talk her down, CB-23 disarms her while she's distracted. She accuses Neeku of tricking her.
* FalseFlagOperation: She was hired by Tierny to lure the Colossus out and bring her in so that she could sabotage them from inside and transmit their current coordinates to the First Order. Fortunately, Kaz and Neeku are able to undo the damage in time.
* FreudianExcuse: She holds a grudge against pirates because they were responsible for her DarkAndTroubledPast.
* IWorkAlone: She's never wanted a partner before until she met Neeku.
* InsistentTerminology: She's an ''engineer'', not a mechanic.
* MeaningfulName:
** The name [[NiceGirl Nina]] has various meanings in different languages, including "little girl" (Spanish), "grace"/"favor" (Hebrew), "nice" (Persian), "beautiful" (Hindi), "strong" (Native American), "friend" (Arabic), "flower" (Greek), and so on.
** However... looks are deceiving, since Nina can also mean "fire" in Quechua and Aymara, and is also the name of the Babylonian goddess of the watery deep.
** In Marathi, ''bakasa'' can mean "hatred" or "spite", befitting her hatred of pirates.
** Alternatively, it can mean "wanting strength", which also fits her as she managed to escape from slavery by herself.
* TheMole: It turns out she was hired by the First Order to be brought onto the Colossus so she could send them its coordinates.
* ShipTease: With Neeku. The two confide to each other about their pasts (with Neeku revealing that he's never divulged about his past to anyone else before because [[YouNeverAsked Nena was the only one who asked]]) and bond over engineering. He's also the only reason why she briefly hesitates over betraying him and the Platformers to the First Order. Helped that their voice actors are married in real life.
* YouHaveFailedMe: After her FalseFlagOperation ultimately fails, Tierny and Pyre agree to have her executed if they ever cross paths with her again. [[spoiler:Fortunately for her, they die before that ever happens.]]
