[[folder:Debuts in ''Ahriman's Prophecy'']]
!!Talia Maurva

The main character of ''Ahriman's Prophecy''. A young girl with red hair who lives with her grandmother in a rural village, Talia dreams of becoming a herbalist, but is sent to become a magick wielder in the mainland instead to save the world from Ahriman.
----
* CastingAShadow: Talia's spells if she joins the Warlocks and Witches Guild.
* DishingOutDirt: Joining the Earth Mage Guild would allow her to unlock Earth-based powers, such as Earthquake.
* DemotedToExtra: By Aveyond 1, she's merely a guest and escorts the heroes to the titular place until leaving them as soon as she is reunited with an old friend, Devin Perry.
* FarmersDaughter: She comes from a tiny farming village, and dreams of becoming a herbalist when she grows up.
* FieryRedhead: Subverted. Talia is actually quite calm.
* HybridAllAlong: Halfway through their travels, it was revealed that [[spoiler: Talia's mother is actually a fairy]], but her father is a normal human.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Talia would rather remain in her village and become a herbalist. And she ''can'' [[RefusalOfTheCall choose to ignore Avrail's instructions, and try to live a normal life]], though doing this would immediately end the game.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: After completing her training at the Collegium, Talia grows to become a graceful magick wielder who learns mostly offensive spells.
* PlayingWithFire: If she joins the Dragon Lords guild, she would learn many fire-based spells.
* RaisedByGrandparents: Talia lives with her grandmother, and her grandmother alone. [[spoiler:We never know anything of her parents until the party reaches Faiara, where Talia's fairy mother resides]].
%%* RedheadInGreen
%%* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead
* WhiteMagic: Talia learns healing spells if she joins the Priestess Guild, which she canonically does by ''Aveyond 1''.

!!Devin Perry/Pendragon

Talia's village friend, a blue-haired blacksmith boy who is a year older than her. He was tasked with escorting Talia to the mainland.
----
* DemotedToExtra: He was one of the main protagonists in ''Ahriman's Prophecy'', but barely has any speaking roles in its sequel.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Devin is known for his noble qualities, and he was the only one willing to escort Talia to the mainland, when his fellow blacksmiths refused to do so.
* WarriorPrince: Later marries princess Alicia Pendragon and becomes the successor of the throne of Thais.

!!Alicia Pendragon

The blond-haired crown princess of Thais, who is surprisingly adept with the sword.
----
* EveryoneLovesBlondes: She is a possible love interest for Devin in ''Ahriman's Prophecy'', and by ''Aveyond 1'', also the {{Canon}} one.
* OptionalPartyMember: If the player doesn't help Ella of Candar to attend the royal ball, the prince would (somewhat reluctantly) court her instead, and she would be stuck as Candar's queen.
* PosthumousCharacter: By Aveyond 1 due to being killed as the daevas started attacking the isles.
* RebelliousPrincess: Despite being a princess, she despises her Princess duties and would eagerly join the heroes' quest in ''Ahriman's Prophecy'' to escape the palace life. She is actually a capable fighter.

!!Jack

A black-haired young street urchin who lives as a thief who joins the party. He makes another appearance in ''Aveyond 2'' after being freed from a curse that turned him to stone.
----
* TheArtfulDodger: Jack can count as this seeing how he's a thief in the street and he enjoys it. Even though he's physically weak, he can hold up on his own as being street smart and is an expert at picking locks.
%% * FragileSpeedster
* GentlemanThief: Despite being a wanted thief, he's rather polite and addresses Talia as "M'lady". Later subverted as he grows increasingly mouthier and just calls all the others "fools". His bratty attitude is even worse when he re-appears in ''Aveyond 2''
* OptionalPartyMember: In both appearances. In Ahriman's prophecy, you can kill him or turn him into the authorities, or recruit him. In ''Aveyond 2'', he's been turned to stone, and you don't have to free him. In both games though, it'd be pretty stupid not to recruit him, as he's the only one who can open locked treasure chests.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He's been turned to stone for 200 years, and by the time he was freed in ''Aveyond 2'', he's 214.

!!Frederick Le Mew

A shapeshifter lizard from Animalville.
----
* LizardFolk: He's a giant lizard who walks, talks and fights like regular humans.
* OptionalPartyMember
* ShapeShifting: He can learn to turn into other kinds of monsters, including a slime.

!!Haddan Halbardk

A dwarf mercenary.
----
* OptionalPartyMember: You can hire him for a price, but you don't have to do so.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debuts in ''Aveyond: Rhen's Quest'']]
!!Rhen Darzon

The main character of ''Aveyond 1'', Rhen lived most of her life as an unassuming village girl with purple hair who was taken from her normal life when she found an unconscious priestess and was later kidnapped by a slave trader after being mistaken as said priestess. Later, she discovered that she has sword singing abilities, and would be destined to wield the Sword of Shadows and destroy Ahriman.
----
* BraidsOfAction: Wears her hair in braids, and kicks ass all the way.
* ChosenOne: The oracle chose her to wield the Sword of Shadows, the only sword capable of defeating Ahriman for good.
* FarmersDaughter: Raised in a small village called Clearwater, where she'd spend her days chasing sheep and picking flowers. [[spoiler:Subverted when it was revealed that her "father" was actually a former knight of Thais, and was tasked to raise his king's daughter as his own.]]
* MadeASlave: Ahriman sent a slave trader to capture and enslave Talia, but the trader mistakenly took Rhen because the latter was wearing Talia's priestess ring. She then spent about three months as the Tenobors' slave, before her sword singing gift was discovered by the Shadwood academy officials.
* MagicKnight: Her class, Sword Singer, is one that is able to draw magic from bladed weapons.
* RagsToRoyalty: In one of the endings, she can become the Queen of Thais. [[spoiler:Since Rhen is the rightful heir to the throne, this is, in fact, the Canon Ending]].

!!Lars Tenobor

A young green-haired noble who looks down on commoners, and was the master of Rhen when she was a slave. He is a mage and can join magic guilds.
----
* CastingAShadow: His powers upon joining the Necromancer's Guild.
* CharacterDevelopment: Grows from a selfish SpoiledBrat who only tags along with Rhen's quest to prove himself the more talented of the two, and generally to annoy her further, to becoming more selfless person who can think of the wellbeing of others.
* PlayingWithFire: His powers upon joining the Annihilator's Guild can be both this and DishingOutDirt.
* SpoiledBrat: He was initially a spoiled {{Jerkass}} who abuses his power, mistreats slaves for fun, and forcibly joins Rhen's party to hog the spotlight and generally annoy her further.
%%* TimeMaster: One of the Guilds he can join.
* TheRedMage: Most of his spells are offensive, but he can learn some basic healing spells when he graduates from Shadwood.

!!Elinidana'ter'Lithir de Armaiti

White-haired female demon summoner who joins Rhen and Lars on their quest, while aiming for her own quest of getting another husband to add on to her stash of three.
----
* InSeriesNickname: She's usually just called "Elini".
* MysticalWhiteHair: Being a summoner, she is one of the most powerful characters in-game, and her white hair helps exemplify that.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Pirate John's rejection of her when she tries to put the moves on him. Not that it stopped her.
* SesquipedalianSmith: Invokes this in her introduction, where she tells the party to call her "Elini".
* SummonMagic: She can summon the souls of the demons she has defeated, including the daevas.
* WhipOfDominance: She's a [[SummonMagic summoner]] with a {{Dominatrix}}-like persona, uses whips as her preferred weapon.

!!Dameon Maurva/Pendragon

Talia's son. He is the current Sun Priest who, in the beginning of the game, was lured by Ahriman's promises of power. He hates his mother for killing his father, who similarly had been corrupted by Ahriman's darkness.
----
* BecomingTheMask: He intends starts his friendship with Rhen so that he can convince her to defect to Ahriman's side later on, but soon finds he genuinely does enjoy her company, and gradually falls in love with her.
* HeelFaceTurn: After Rhen uses fairy dust on him, Dameon finally realizes how evil Ahriman actually is, and will fight alongside the heroes for good.
* LightEmUp: Being a Sun Priest, his powers involves light magic.
* LoveInterest: Falls in love with Rhen. In the canon ending, she proposes to him and they marry. He makes it clear that he loves her in every ending.
* TheMole: He works under Ahriman, and initially joined the party to convince Rhen to join the dark side.
* WhiteMage: Most of his spells are healing, buff or debuff spells.
* LoveRedeems: Rhen's friendship helps him learn to forgive and he ultimately chooses to reject Ahriman and sides with Rhen and his mother.

!!Te'ijal Ravenfoot

A red-haired vampire who has sadistic tendencies. In the first game, she agrees to give aid to the party in exchange for sunscreen that would allow her to explore the world during day times. In the third game, she plays a much more centre role as she resists her brother Gyendal's plans to rule the world.
----
* AscendedExtra: She's just an additional muscle in the first game, but becomes a central character in the third game.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: She agrees to help Rhen and co. in return for the sunscreen, promising ''not'' to feed on them during their travels. Galahad doesn't get the honors, however.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: She steals Galahad's soul, forces him to marry her, then turns him into a vampire against his will. But the whole thing is played for laughs, and could even be viewed as a form of ironic retribution to Galahad's FantasticRacism and HolierThanThou attitude.
* NobleDemon: Though she considers humans inferior and her prey, she joins the party and helps save the world, opposing every other vampire and her own brother at times.
* OptionalPartyMember: In the first game, she can only be recruited if the player picks a Sunscreen (instead of a bag of silver) after saving the druid Rashnu. She's a RequiredPartyMember in the third game, though.

!!Galahad Teomes

A paladin serving the King of Sedona, who hates evil.
----
%%* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: Played for laughs.
* DeathSeeker: He's an "incomplete" vampire because he refuses to drink human blood to complete his transformation. By the third series, he's been stuck in this half-state for about 200 hundred years, and he would rather die than become a full monster.
* FlatEarthAtheist: He refuses to belief in magic, even when Lars almost ''burned'' him with his magic during a conversation in the Sedona manor.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Parodied in the first game, where he tries to act noble and gentlemanly towards Rhen, and constantly interferes with her action because she's a lady. Rhen, who is a bona fide Action Girl, is more annoyed than flattered at his behaviour.
%%* KnightInSourArmor: In the ''Orbs of Magic'' games.
* NobleBigot: He is certainly well-intentioned, but his incapability to accept that Te'ijal, a vampire, could be anything more than an evil demon reflects poorly on his character.
* OptionalPartyMember: But if you allow him into your party, you get additional riches and a boost for Te'ijal's defense.

!!Pirate John

A pirate who was thrown into prison because he refused to marry a Veldtian woman. He was recruited by the party for his dragon-riding skills, which was required to access the isles of Thais.
----
%%* TheCasanova
%%* {{Pirate}}: Type 2
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: He hates Veldtian women because of their Amazonian culture. [[spoiler: At least till Elini pours a bottle of love potion on his head]]

!!Mad Marge

An overweight barmaid who is in love with Pirate John.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: She's in love with Pirate John, but only managed to repulse him.
* OptionalPartyMember: For 2000 gold, she can be hired. Of course, this is not necessary, as at this point the party should be powerful enough to face most enemy encounters with ease.
* TheLoad: Despite requiring the party to fork in cash to recruit her, she's not a particularly good fighter. In fact, she arguably has the poorest stats among all the party member.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debuts in ''Aveyond: Ean's Quest'']]
!!Ean Okho

The main character, a brown-haired young elf who sets out to the Land of Man to find his best friend Iya.
----
* {{Determinator}}: He's willing to travel to a completely different world from his own to find his best friend, even though he doesn't know if he could ever return home.
* LoveInterest: For Iya. He's her childhood friend/sweetheart whose bond prevents the Snow Queen from erasing his memories of her. If they have enough attraction points, they can get married.
* NiceGuy: Probably the nicest protagonists introduced to the series so far. He's kind, polite, and avoids conflicts whenever necessary.
* ThePowerOfLove: His love for Iya is the reason why the Snow Queen can't take his memories of her.
* ShapeShifting: He can collect magical figurines to transform into various creatures.
* SupportingProtagonist: Although he is the focus character of the second game, his name being in the title and everything, he is not TheChosenOne. Iya is.

!!Iya Tiki

Ean's best friend. Iya comes from a family of Singers, though she herself apparently lacked that talent (having failed her test repeatedly). Distraught by her most recent failure, she accepts the Snow Queen's offer to be her daughter, unaware that the queen plans to use her as sacrifice to freeze the entire world into an icy wasteland.
----
* {{Brainwashed}}: After being kidnapped by the Snow Queen, she was brainwashed to forget her past life and become the Queen's adoptive daughter, until Ean manages to restore her memories.
* CastingAShadow: Her powers if she chooses to join the Necromancers' Guild.
* ChosenOne: Her singer powers is apparently the only one that could stop the Snow Queen's plan of freezing the world.
* ExoticWeaponSupremacy: She uses Spheres as her weapons. Of course, these spheres gives her access to some of the strongest spells in the game.
* LightEmUp: Her powers if she chooses to join the Enchanters' Guild and gain the Daydream Sphere. Also the spells she can gain from the Phoenix Sphere.
* LoveInterest: To Ean. He left the comforts of Elfwood to bring Iya back home, while Iya herself regains her memories of her past life after he shows her a ribbon he gave her during a past festival.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Iya is TheChosenOne destined to become a song mage and save the world from the Snow Queen. She also have silver hair, which serves as a much better {{foil}} to her opponent's WinterRoyalLady theme.
* PimpedOutDress: She wears a beautifully crafted dress during her time as the Snow Princess. She wears an even more extravagant one if she marries Ean in Elfwood.

!!Rye Zoyle

A young green-haired hunter who likes to adventure.
----

* BelligerentSexualTension: How his interaction with Emma plays out. He makes a bet with her and wagers that the loser must obey 5 of the winner's command. These commands are all intended to humiliate or injure the losing party in some way, but somehow increases the attraction between the two.
* LoveInterest: To Emma. He's the one who agrees to save her from her bleak life as a maid by paying for her education in the School of Sword & Magyk. With enough attraction, they can marry.

!!Emma Willow

A maid who wishes to become a swords master. After going to Shadwood academy, she can join the party to serve as a swordswoman.
----
* BelligerentSexualTension: How her interaction with Rhy plays out. She makes a bet with him and wagers that the loser must obey 5 of the winner's command. These commands are all intended to humiliate or injure the losing party in some way, but somehow increases the attraction between the two.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: She starts out as being a household maid, but wants to become something much more, hence her desire to learn the sword instead.
* LoveInterest: To Rye. He was the one who first saw her as something more than a household maid and convinced the others to agree to help her. With enough attraction, they can marry.
* OptionalPartyMember: You don't actually have to fulfill her desire to become a swords master.
* TheTrickster: Emma is quite cunning, and if she loses her bet against Rye, she would somehow find a way to get the last laugh out of the commands he gives her.

!!Ava "One Eye"

An associate to Prince Uthar Pendragon, whom she knows as "Dragon Dung", Ava "One Eye" is a pirate who provides the party with the ship they need to travel between continents.
----
* DefrostingIceQueen: Ava is known as a harsh and ruthless pirate captain who will not stand to any nonsense from anyone. Gavin manages to soften her up with his chivalry, however.
* GenderBlenderName: Her codename is "Rip", and the heroes assume that she was male when they heard about it. When she reveals herself as "Rip", Rye exclaims in surprise, "But you're a woman!"
* PirateEyepatch: Hence her nickname "One Eye".
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: We never see Ava do anything illegal over the course of the game. In fact, she's one of Uthar's best correspondence, and is the one who knocks some common sense and humility into Nicholas.

!!Nicholas Pendragon

The younger brother of Prince Uthar, and the second in line to the Thais throne. Sent by his brother to grow up.
----
* CharacterDevelopment: He starts off as an insufferable, spoiled prince. Ava teaches him to be nicer to commoners as they travel together.
* SpoiledBrat: He's very snobbish, stuck up and tends to look down on commoners.
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: You can either have Nick or Gavin at any one moment because they hate each other too much to be in the same party. Unless you download the patch which allows you to have both.
* WhiteMage: He's the token healer of the party, and his white magic is a direct contrast to Gavin.

!!Gavin Morven

A warlock from Bogwood.
----
* BlackMage: As a warlock, he mostly learns dark magic, such as curses, poison, and the like.
* TheCasanova: He's a very unabashed flirt, and pretty much all the witches in Bogwood are in love with him.
* DoggedNiceGuy: To Ava, who regards his advances with cold reproach. It took him offering [[spoiler:one of his eyes to replace her missing one]] to finally win ''some'' affection from her.
* LadykillerInLove: Despite his reputation as the resident casanova in Bogwood, he falls in love with Ava.
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: You can either have Gavin or Nick at any one moment because they hate each other too much to be in the same party. Unless you download the patch which allows you to have both.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debuts in ''Aveyond: Orbs of Magic Series'']]
!!Mel
A black-haired thief girl who was hired by Gyendal to steal an ancient orb. After realizing that this job was more than just a high-priced bounty, she was sent by Te'ijal to Thais to be trained as a spy.
----
* AntiHero: Mel starts out as a shameless thief who didn't particularly care about helping others. [[spoiler: And later becomes a pretty shameless spy too, but becomes much MUCH nicer at the end.]]
* BoyishShortHair: Mel is a very unladylike thief who sports a short bob hairstyle.
* EmbarrassingLastName: She refused to be known as [[spoiler:Lady Darkthtop]], and insists that she's just "Mel".
* FragileSpeedster: Being a thief, she's very agile, but otherwise have low attack, defense and health points.
* LastMinuteHookup: If Edward doesn't marry her, Mel would mention, almost as a throwaway line, in the ending narration about hooking up with [[spoiler:a descendant of Lars]], who doesn't actually appear in the game. [[spoiler:Oh, and according to WordOfGod, this is actually the Canon ending.]]
* OnlyOneName: Was raised in an orphanage and is simply known as "Mel". Later subverted when her true heritage is revealed.
* {{Tsundere}}: She's really harsh with Edward due to her general distrust against nobles, but accepts his friendship and can be sweet to him at times.

!!Edward Pendragon
The Crown Prince of Thais who secretly wants to be a chicken farmer. He follows Mel and Stella, partly because he wants to escape his princely duty, and partly because he's curious about what they are up to.
----
* ArrangedMarriage: If he fails to get enough attraction with any of the three girls, his parents would have him marry the Orc Princess, Belf.
* NiceGuy: He's kind and friendly, and lacks the usual snobbishness of most nobles, which is how he won over Mel.
* RageQuit: Briefly left the party in anger when he realized that Mel an Stella had lied to him about what they're actually journeying for.
* SecondLove: Not explicitly stated, but is implied to share this with Stella. The official prologue of the third chapter has Edward about to marry Mel, before the wedding was sabotaged by [[spoiler:Lydia]]. The two were separated then, and after Mel was [[spoiler:taken by the darklings to fulfill the Darkthop Prophecy]], and Edward spent most of his time with Stella as they both work together to rescue Mel. By the end of the adventure, Stella is stated as Edward's canon LoveInterest, per WordOfGod.
* WarriorPrince: He's an expert swordsman despite being a member of royalty.

!!Stella
An amnesiac purple-haired dark-skinned girl whom Edward and Mel found in the ruins.
----
* AmbiguouslyHuman: The mystery surrounding her identity makes one wonder why she's so special, and whether or not she's actually human. [[spoiler:She is later revealed to be a Naylithian, i.e. a WingedHumanoid race known for their magical capacity.]]
* IdentityAmnesia: Has no recollection about who she is, where she came from, or why the BigBad was after her.
%%* LightEmUp
* MysteriousWaif: An amnesiac young woman whose only memory was being chased by the BigBad for unknown reasons.
* NiceGirl: Stella is a demure, gentle healer who loves animals and treats everyone with kindness and respect.
* SecondLove: Implicitly for Edward. The latter spent the first two chapters being really close to Mel, and Edward almost married her at the start of the third chapter. But after the wedding was ruined, and other things happen, Stella ended up as Edward's canon love interest by the end of of the game.
* WhiteMagicianGirl: She specializes in healing magic.
* WingedHumanoid: Near the end of chapter 2, Stella is revealed to be a Naylithian -- a race of butterfly-winged people. Her wings had been cut off before the events of the game, but she gains them back later on.

!!Lydia Rupert
A green-haired noble lady who wishes to marry Edward and become Queen.
----
* AlphaBitch: She's haughty and mean-spirited, but can also be very cunning and manipulative to get what she wants.
* AmbitionIsEvil: She's not really in love with Edward -- just the position of power she would gain if she marries him. She's also the nastiest character in the character [[spoiler:and actually reveals herself as a villain in the last two chapters]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: She appears to have softened up near the end of the second chapter, being more willing to offer her assistance in completing the quest. Unfortunately, this is just another of her ploy to get closer to Edward to steal his throne.
* RichBitch: She's a girl of noble blood and is very snobby. And that's her ''least'' bad qualities.
* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:Mel elaborates in the epilogue that she was sent to the Orc Isles after attempting to take over the kingdom one more time, and was never heard from again.]]

!!Ulf
A small orc who wields axes. He joins the party wishing to escape his fate as the runt in orcish society.
----
* GeniusBruiser: Ulf is a very knowledgable scholar, but he's still an orc, and his attacks are very physically oriented.
%% * MightyGlacier
* TokenHeroicOrc: Most orcs are portrayed as mean, uncivilised brutes. Ulf is a very sweet guy.

!!June
A young magician who specializes in trickster spells.
----
%%* BrainyBrunette
* TagalongKid: She's even younger than the teenaged protagonists.

!!Yvette
A shapeshifter who can turn into different birds.
----
%%* CloudCuckooLander
* {{Fangirl}}: Yvette is a great admirer of the famous hero, Hercules.
* ShapeShifting: She can transform into birds.

!!Nox
A creepy young girl who haunts Mel with cryptic statements at random intervals.
----
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: She appears as a ghostly apparition with glowing eyes and tries to lead Mel into the dark path.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: Nox is a young girl who uses a cleaver/scythe.
* KidFromTheFuture
* MeaningfulName: Nox means "dark".
* SinisterScythe: She wields a scythe, which highlights her creepy persona.

!!Uma
A mysterious girl with healing powers who tries to stop Nox from taunting Mel.
----
* EtherealWhiteDress: Dresses all in white, and has mystical powers and mysterious, otherworldly origin.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Subverted. While she's just as mysterious and enigmatic as Nox, Uma is very gentle and kindhearted, and her glowing eyes reflect nothing sinister.
* KidFromTheFuture
* MeaningfulName: "Uma" means light.
* VirginInAWhiteDress: She dresses in all white to signify her pure personality as well as to serve as a contrast to Nox.
* WhiteMagicianGirl: She specializes in healing magic, though she can also debuff enemies.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debuts in ''Aveyond: Shadow of the Mist'']]
!!Boyle Wolfbane the Horrible

Once upon a time, Boyle the Horrible was a feared EvilOverlord who came close to taking over the world, until he was defeated miserably by a group of heroes. He's since retired and settled down in Bogwood, until a strange turn of events forces him to become a hero.
----
* AntiVillain: He's technically a villain, but he does go on a quest to save the world. And even his evil deeds prior to his HeelFaceTurn are fairly benign.
* TheBeastmaster: Can control a variety of creatures to do his bidding.
* BlackMage: He's a mage who uses "darkness" to conjure his spells, almost all of which are offensive.
* BornUnlucky: Known to be a terrible two-card flip player, and had never won a single game (even against first-timers).
* CardCarryingVillain: Even when he's on a quest to save the world (you know, something that ''heroes'' do), he still prefers to be regarded as a villain rather than a hero.
* CartoonishSupervillainy: As shown in the prologue, he ticks most of the boxes of a typical cartoon villain: [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver Wears black and red]], [[BeardOfEvil sports a goatee]], [[JustBetweenYouAndMe loves bragging about his secrets]] and [[OrcusOnHisThrone relaxes in his lair while the heroes fight their way towards him]], leading to his defeat by a RagtagBunchOfMisfits.
* CharacterDevelopment: Given that he's a villain forced to become a hero, this is to be expected. He grows from a completely selfish individual who only cares about his dog, to growing concerns for other people.
* EmbarrassingLastName: Neither "Wolfbane" nor "the Horrible" is his actual last name, but he prefers using them to hide the fact that [[spoiler:he's a missing Pendragon]].
* MoralityPet: He would do anything for his dog, Fang. And the reason he finally agreed to become a hero is to find his missing dog.
* SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains: Noble Anti-Villain.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Frequently gets into trouble for his self-serving tendencies, and all of his failures to maintain his dignity to get himself out of his plights are played for comedy.
* VillainousCheekbones: He has a very sharp cheekbones, and begins his character arc as a VillainProtagonist.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: With his beard and age lines, one would think that he's already in his 40s. But his profile states that he's only 29.

!!Ingrid
An... associate of Boyle's who also resides in Wyrmwood. She has placed a curse on Boyle to marry her and follows him on his quest to make sure he doesn't try to run away or get himself killed during the journey.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: She likes Boyle enough to curse him into marrying her, but Boyle for the most part wants nothing to do with her.
* EvilLaugh: Cackles maniacally whenever she'd done or said something horrible. Or witnessed someone (especially Boyle) in trouble.
* ForcedTransformation: She can transform other characters into animals. [[BewitchedAmphibians Mostly frogs]], but also snakes, bats, etc.
* OneHitKill: Joining Lorelai's coven would gain her the Curse of Death spell, which allows Ingrid to instantly kill small monsters.
* WickedWitch: She's a villain like Boyle who retains her selfish cruelty for the entire game.

!!Myst
A mist wraith princess who is sent by her mother to look for her younger brother, Whisp.
----
* BigSisterInstinct: The reason she follows Boyle on his journey is to rescue her younger brother from being sacrificed to Qetesh.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Although the main focus of the story is Boyle's journey to become a hero, the plot revolves around ''her'' quest to rescue her younger brother from being sacrificed to Qetesh.
* TheGadfly: She may be sheltered and generally a nice person, but she's not that innocent and would frequently poke fun at Boyle's misfortune. Even Ingrid approves of her.
* GlassCannon: Myst is one of the best attackers in the game, but her HP and defense are low.
* TheMedic: She has a "Soothe" skill, which restores some % of HP for another party member.
* MysticalWaif: She's a mist wraith, whose powers are needed by Qetesh to unleash his powers.
* TheNotLoveInterest: A young girl who serves as the protagonist's CallToAdventure and plays a significant role in his quest for redemption? In most other games, she would be one of Boyle's option love interests. But here... not only is there no possible option to marry the two, Myst outright states that unscrupulous people like Boyle repulses her.
* ShapeShifting: Can transform into a white wolf.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: To Robin. First, she establishes that she doesn't want to find a mate from among her own people, but also finds the men from the human world too selfish and repulsive for her taste. Then she encounters Robin, who impresses her with his innocence. When Robin was signed up as a Nightwatch, Myst would go alongside him when no one else did. In the epilogue, the two are shown having a picnic together and discussing about future adventures together.
* VagueAge: When Boyle asks her how old she is, Myst tells him that she's [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld 200]]. She then gets offended when Boyle believed her claim, demanding to know if he thinks she actually looks that old. Given how little we know about the mist wraiths (are they immortal? Do they get born as grown ups?), it's impossible to pin-point her actual age.
* WarriorPrincess: Her status as a princess isn't really emphasized, but she ''is'' the daughter of the Mist Queen, and she's a very powerful fighter besides.

!!Robin
A young stable boy who wishes to become a Paladin. The party kidnaps him (out of the belief that he ''is'' one) to undo a curse, but eventually keeps him around.
----
* BornLucky: Despite not really knowing how the game works, he's surprisingly good at playing two-card flip. That's presumably why Boyle entrusted his card deck to him.
* CorruptTheCutie: Played For Laughs. Boyle's influence seem to give him a newfound obsession with kidnapping people and challenging others to a two-card flip game.
* HeroWorshipper: Admires Boyle very much and tries his hardest to earn his friendship and respect. He also turns to Boyle first whenever he wants an advice on something.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: To Myst. He is very protective of her, and the first skill he learns as a Paladin was when he tries to defend her from harm.
* KnightInShiningArmour: He's a paladin who behaves honourably and fights with bravery.
* ManChild: He's 19 years old, but is still a woefully innocent MommasBoy who dreams of candy land.
* NiceGuy: He's brave, courteous and punctual. His purity is the reason Myst is interested in him.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: In one of his sidequests to become a stronger warrior, he had to defeat a demon in the Trials of Fire. His "fight" with the demon wasn't actually shown. We only see Phye take him to where the "demon" is, and get a notification that he's gone up a level up.
* WideEyedIdealist: He's naive and easily led on.

!!Hi'beru
The man found in Boyle's nightmares, Hi'beru is a beginner dream mage who have access to the dream world and help cure people of their nightmares. He asks to be given the chance to help Boyle in exchange for his own freedom after being captured by the people of Weeville.
-----
* CloudCuckoolander: Being a dreamer, Hi'beru is rather clueless on what is and is not acceptable, and often unwittingly irritates other people despite being a nice guy who means no harm. Ingrid can earn his attraction by talking nonsense to him.
* NiceGuy: He's a well-meaning individual who tries to help the troubled people he comes across. Unfortunately, his lack of social graces often cause him to offend others instead.
* ProphetEyes: His eyes become glowing white whenever he uses his powers, which disturbs the rest of the party.

!!Rowen
An elf mechanic from Delamere who left her family due to her cravings for adventure. She was cursed and enslaved by a Mystic who forced her to help run his fortune telling scam. After the party freed her from her curse, she in turn helped them obtain a ship for their travels.
----
* GadgeteerGenius: She's an adventurous mechanic who uses various gadgets to attack the enemies. She's also the one who provided the party with their ship.
* MadeASlave: When the party meets her, Rowen was serving as a slave to a fortune teller. According to her profile, she had been enslaved for 2 years.

!!Phye
A member of the ancient draconic race called the draaghar, who seeks vengeance against the demon Baal for enslaving his people.
----
* TheBlacksmith: He owns a forge in his house. He crafted his own sword and made Robin his strongest weapon.
* FieryRedhead: Being a draaghar race, he has a flaming red hair, and always gives the most excitable response when gaining attraction points with Ingrid.
* GentleGiant: He's big and intimidating, but he's otherwise really amicable and a good guy to be around.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: His eyes glow red after he draws power from slaying demons.
* LastMinuteHookup: If he doesn't marry Ingrid, he would randomly hook-up with the bridge Harpy in Ulrock.
* SoleSurvivor: The only one of the draaghars who managed to escape Baal's enslavement.
