Other vampires rarely appreciate their ministrations, mostly because this involves the Esana draining other vampires to ash. The fact that this twisted form of cannibalism [[CannibalismSuperpower allows even fledgling Esana to grow exponentially in power]] only compounds the fear and loathing all other Bloods have for the Faithful. During the ancient Wars of the Blood, the Esana became so mighty that for the first and only time in history, the other Bloods put aside their differences and joined in an alliance to exterminate the Esana. And while they were unsuccessful, many of the most ancient Esana were destroyed, with the rest driven deep into hiding, biding their time and "protecting" the souls they have consumed.
