!!!Associated Tropes:
* AgeLift: Although a minor one (from about 15 to around 17-18), it's significant due to the Age Lifts of all the other characters. Alpha was an older member of his group of friends in the original, but here, he's the youngest out of them. (In fact, he's the only member of the group close to his original age - it's just that in the original, all the main characters were teens, whereas here, Alpha's the only non-adult).
* AttackAttackAttack: Alpha fights this way in grid battles in the early episodes when he's not under the influence of the "Forbidden Power". It's to emphasize his inexperience.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Flamegirl at the end of episode 7.
* BattleCouple: With Flamegirl, in the Gemini Tournament.
* BoltOfDivineRetribution: His light-elemental lightning attack which is named after Zeus.
* CharacterDevelopment: Alpha starts off as very unsure, insecure and soft spoken. Throughout the first season, he naturally becomes more confident and sure of himself, and in the second season, he's much less shy and is able to speak his mind and act without hesitation when he has to. Alpha's growth as a character eventually allows him to team up with the Forbidden Power in the GrandFinale without it controlling him so he can defeat Rubirules.
* CombatPragmatist: If there's an advantage he can exploit to win, he uses it. The enemy being knocked down won't stop him from attacking.
* CurbStompBattle: Gets a critical hit, and inflicts on on Kirbopher in the first episode. He also gets eliminated from a grid fight very quickly in that same episode. Also inflicts one on Tsuzuku and Shogun at the beginning of Episode 05.
** It's essentially a RunningGag that every single one of Alpha's battles with Kirbopher is one of these and Kirbopher never wins.
* CursedWithAwesome: His curse being the "Forbidden Power's" ability to harm people in real life. Which sounds cool on the surface, but has some pretty serious potential consequences he's very concerned about.
* DealWithTheDevil: With the Forbidden Power in the first episode.
* DeflectorShields: One of his attacks is an energy shield, but unlike Asterob he doesn't base his whole fighting style around it.
* DemonicPossession: Fittingly, this first happens in the episode "Awaken the Beast". Up to that point, though the Forbidden Power was influencing his behaviour, it did not take control outright.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: The Forbidden Power is completely erased, his friends are safe and sound, the true BigBad is going to pay for his crimes and he gets to meet Zetto, Nylocke and Flamegirl in person finally.
* EtTuBrute: Alpha is horrified when he learns about Kirbopher's secret, believing that his best friend has betrayed him. By ''[=AvZ=]'', however, he seems to have forgiven him.
* FacialMarkings: Has two Roman numeral "I"s on his eyelids.
* FinishingMove: The "Vulcan Rocket", a combination of the moves Vulcan Fist, and Rocket Burn that Alpha and Flamegirl use in the Gemini Tournament.
* FirstNameBasis: With Flamegirl, as of "Infectuation".
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Supine, a rare example of the main character having this temperament.
* FriendlessBackground: Because he spends all of his free time staying at home, playing video games (obviously), and his acquaintances out in the "real world" believe that LonersAreFreaks. They'd probably be willing to befriend him if he put himself out there more, but he's apparently even more of a ShrinkingViolet in person.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Normally, Alpha's wings are white, but during his DemonicPossession in episode 5 Alpha's color scheme gets darker, and his wings and tail turn black.
* HearingVoices: Alpha hears the Forbidden Power's voice while under it's influence.
* TheHero: Has a well balanced character, and is skilled at the game, and is a friend to everyone in the group. But, due to being the youngest and most inexperienced, he's an exceptional kind of hero in that he doesn't lead the group.
* HeroicBSOD: Alpha at the end of Episode 14 after watching Flamegirl screaming in agony and then being sent into the Anti-Virus Dragon and then after landing, he finds Kirbopher's lifeless character model and as he hyperventilates as memories of his friends flash before his eyes, he lets out a blood clenching scream.
** He snaps out of it when Zetto arrives on the scene and Alpha realizes Zetto and Kirbopher are the same person.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Has a spike of hair hanging near one eye, with it obscuring his eye only occasionally. Serves as a symbol of his shy and unassuming tendencies.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Alpha's desire. Fulfilled through playing TOME.
* InnocentBlueEyes: He's indoubtedly one of the most innocent and sweet characters in the show.
* IronicName: Personality-wise, Alpha is easily the ''least'' "alpha-type" character in the FiveManBand.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Alpha's is called "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/a-heros-wings A Hero's Wings]]", which also has a DarkReprise called [[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/a-heros-weakness "A Hero's Weakness"]].
* MakingASplash: His attack "Poseidon Wave", which sends out a torrent of water at his enemies.
* OhCrap: Alpha has this reaction when Zetto is possessed by the Forbidden Power and even gets a CurseCutShort when Demon Zetto attacks.
* NiceGuy: Definitely the kindest character in the FiveManBand.
* NoMoreHoldingBackSpeech: Gives one to the Forbidden Power when he's fighting Demon Zetto.
--> '''Alpha''': I think I finally understand you. Your entire existance is meant to hurt others... and I was just your tool for doing it. That's the only reason you ever bothered with me... and I was just too stupid to figure it out. Well, I don't need you. I ''never'' needed you! Now GET OUT!!
* NoSell: Shown from episode one to be invulnerable to attacks when under the influence of the "Forbidden Power". Zetto, and Flamegirl are the only exceptions due to anti-virus programs hidden in their characters.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: [[AllThereInTheManual Background information]] describes him as having joined TOME "due to its rising popularity in his High School". [[WordOfGod Niosi has also confirmed]] that he is the youngest main character, at about 17-18, though in "Highest Form of Flattery", multiple characters claim that he and Flamegirl are the same age. (Justified in that Flamegirl is only a year or two older than him, so for all intents and purposes, they are.
* PrimaryColorChampion: His color scheme is primarily blue, and red, with white as the third color. In season 2 his color scheme is completely red and white.
* PsychicStrangle: Does this to Ravenfreak in episode 03. He uses The Forbidden Power to make Ravenfreak float in the air, choking him and exposing him to serious pain in the process. Also does this Kirbopher in episode 05 forcing Kirbopher to log out. It's made evident in the show that The Forbidden Power was manipulating Alpha's mind during both instances of this happening.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue Oni to Kirbopher's Red Oni
* ResistTheBeast: Alpha's main arc surrounding the Forbidden Power involves him resisting it's control over his mind, and trying to not hurt anyone with it. And Flame Girl helping him keep control of it
* TheReveal: In the closing minutes of "The Warring Demons", we finally learn that Alpha's real name is Michael.
* {{Telepathy}}: Communicates mentally with The Forbidden Power against his will for all of the first season
* TookALevelInBadass: By the Season Finale, Alpha took a big one of these, and thanks to that, he's able to hold his ground against Demon Zetto and gives a NoMoreHoldingBackSpeech to the Forbidden Power.
* SeekerArchetype: To an extent. As of the episodes ''Infectuation'', And ''Gemini Tournament Yin'' he's started to become a bit anxious to learn more about the "Forbidden Power".
* ShockAndAwe: One of his attacks. In the TOME universe, this and HolyHandGrenade appear to be interchangeable, because it is described as "light" powers in the fourth episode despite clearly being a lightning/electrical attack. Either way, he is the only character in the FiveManBand with the ability.
* SleevesAreForWimps: Alpha gets a new look in episode 10, and loses his scarf and long sleeved shirt in exchange for a black tank top and fingerless gloves.
* SpikyHair: Leftover from the original show. Rockoon calls him "porcupine head".
* SupernaturalAngst: [[CursedWithAwesome He'd be much happier]] if he had never received the "Forbidden Power", and much of his conflict is either worrying about it hurting someone, or how he's anxious to learn the truth about what the "Forbidden Power" really is.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: When the Forbidden Power takes over him. As of episode 10, the Forbidden Power is gone thanks to Zetto.
* ThemeNaming: All of his special attacks are named for members of the Greco-Roman pantheon - hence his power of "Mythology".
* ThrowingYourShieldAlwaysWorks: He can use his energy shield as a weapon by throwing it.
* {{Tuckerization}}: Alpha's first name comes from Mike Luckas, on whom the original TTA character was based.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Accidentally found the Forbidden Power (Or rather it brought him to it's seal) and became infected with it and after it's removed by Zetto, Alpha still has a tiny piece of it within him and during the second season, anytime he feels alot of emotion it empowers the Forbidden Power and frees it from the Drain Edge and then the egg Kajet is sealed in.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Kirbopher.
* WingsDoNothing: Purely cosmetic, although [[AllThereInTheManual Kirbopher has claimed]] [[http://ask-kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/31568354615/wings-are-annoying-and-just-get-in-the-way-a-true in his blog]] that they boost agility.

!!!Associated Tropes:
* AgeLift: From a 15-year-old kid to an adult working for Netking Software.
* BattleCry: Alpha jokes about him doing this in the first episode. In ''Awaken the Beast'' Kirbopher says that doing so adds "Oomph" to his attacks. Turns out, Kizuna also joked this back during the development stages of TOME and he, as Zetto, simiarly replied that it sounded cool.
* BerserkButton: He has a few:
** It's pronounced KIR-boh-fur, NOT "Kirboffer" and NOT "Kirbofour".
** He is NOT a squire. Or an imp, for that matter.
** Role-players, which is ironic, because he's been LivingADoubleLife this entire time.
* BloodKnight: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. His stated goal in playing the game is to solely to fight other players.
* BlowYouAway: One of his attacks is creating a tornado with his sword.
* BromanticFoil: Suggested as a joke by Nylocke. But it's actually being ''played straight''. Kirbopher follows the trope by, competing with the main lead, Alpha, constantly, while still being [[VitriolicBestBuds best buds]] with the guy, and all while competing with Flamegirl [[note]](who Alpha is [[LoveInterest interested in romantically]])[[/note]] for Alpha's attention.
* ButtMonkey: He's very often the subject of the group's jokes, because he's easily provoked and often has an attitude/ overreacts to things, and because his friends like to tease him about his friendly rivalry with Alpha.
* CharacterBlog: Available right [[http://ask-kirbopher.tumblr.com/ here]].
* CompositeCharacter: He and Zetto are now one person using alternate accounts.
* CurbStompBattle: Alpha gets a criticial hit, and inflicts one on Kirb in the first episode, Kirb is often the person to inflict one on Rockoon in several episodes, and it's discussed in the show that he likes doing this to have fun when he says he's "going to play the fun part of the game" and "beat down some chumps".
** Kirb always has these inflicted on him by Alpha everytime they have a battle. Kirb even comments that Alpha'll never let him win, but he prefers it that way because he wants to win fairly.
* CurseCutShort: In episode 4, after Alpha breaks into the corrupted area, you can see him about to mouth "fuck" right after he says "What the..."
* DecompositeCharacter: On the other hand, a lot of his characteristics from the original TTA have now been transferred to other characters as the result of this, such as his insistence that Zetto take the game less seriously, his role as the host for the D-Bug, and his job of sealing away the Forbidden Power when it's possessing Demon Zetto.
* DistressedDude: This is a recurring gag at Kirb's expense. He's been immobilized by other characters attacks, and his friends have had to save him three times. First with Splat when he was trapped by her slime, and then by Execk and Kindarspirit in season 2 with their own restraining moves.
* DoubleAgent: It's revealed Kirbopher is an alternate character of Zetto's and that his player is using it to give the hacker organization updates on Alpha's status while his character is possessed by the Forbidden Power. This also explains a lot of his bitterness about the FiveManBand's decision to [[SourSupporter fight the hackers]]. He doesn't want to get in the way of the hackers and/or reveal his other identity to his friends. Although Zetto/Kirb seems genuinely more concerned about the virus harming someone than abusing it. To be fair, however, he's still not malicious to his friends, he just doesn't want them involved in his mess.
* {{Escapism}}: Zetto created Kirbopher so that he could occasionally go back to having fun playing TOME and take a break from his mission against the Forbidden Power. This complicates things when his new group of friends get involved and oppose his hackers and their work.
* FaceFault: Kirbopher finally has too much in Episode 2 and collapses on the ground.
-->'''Gamecrazed:''' Why did you fall?\
'''Kirbopher:''' I don't know!
* FriendlyRival: With Alpha. Who he considers his sparring partner.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Choleric.
* HintDropping: In episode 7 he frequently drops hints to Archy that he's being a pest. Archy either just doesn't get it or is very persistent.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He calls Nylocke a twit and annoying because he plays TOME solely for fun, but the entire reason that the Kirbopher account exists is so that ''he'' can have fun and not have to deal with the stress from his life as Zetto.
* ICallItVera: [[AllThereInTheManual His Ask Kirbopher blog]] [[http://ask-kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/22703912996/what-do-you-think-youre-doing-here-you-overgrown reveals]] that he calls his sword "The XV", which stands for 15, his lucky number.
* AnIcePerson: One of his attacks, called "ice knives" involves ice projectiles coming out of his sword.
* {{Irony}}: For all his dislike of Role Players, he's been LivingADoubleLife from the beginning.
* InSeriesNickname: "Kirb".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Deep, ''deep'' down.
** The heart of gold shows itself in episode 6, when he tells Nylocke and Gamecrazed that he feels bad about the events of episode 5 and wants to apologize.
** The Kirbopher/Zetto player explicitly acknowledges in "Plan Z" that the rest of the FiveManBand - all of them, even including Nylocke and Flamegirl - were "people who I grew to love as dear friends".
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Points out on his blog that he chose a Katana because they're cool, and calls Nylocke's sword a "massive, blue ice pop".
* KilledOffForReal: Kirbopher's character model is extremely damaged by Kajet's attack and his player more or less decides to stay as Zetto from now on, but a memorial is left in Sanctuary for him with his sword stabbed into a stone with his hat on the hilt.
* TheLancer: To Alpha. Who he considered his rival at first, but he developed a friendship with him that gets deeper as the series goes on. He's also a very outspoken and loud character in contrast to Alpha's shy, and unassuming nature.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Kirbopher's is called [[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/dangerous-duo "Dangerous Duo"]], though this is not immediately obvious from the title, placement on the soundtrack album, or usage in the show itself (unlike the leitmotifs for the other four members of the FiveManBand). The name ''might'' be an allusion to the player's dual role as Kirbopher and Zetto. However, it was [[AllThereInTheManual officially confirmed]] in [[http://ask-kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/70468212472/mine-doesnt-even-have-words-because-it-doesnt his character blog]].
* LivingADoubleLife: Since Kirbopher and Zetto are two characters used by the same player he has to balance interacting with two different groups of characters, and has to act differently for both characters to avoid suspicion of this double life.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: This seems to be the intended {{aesop}} from Kirbopher's gloominess, and attempts to make amends after Awaken The Beast. He seems to be blaming himself for his grumpy moments kinda hard, to the point where it's affecting his sense of fun. On top of that everything seems to be going wrong for him during the pre-tournament, and Gemini Tournament arcs.
* MustMakeAmends: After his heated argument with Flamegirl in Awaken The Beast, he starts to feel really bad about it in the next episode, and wants to apologize. He attempts to in Episode 07, but doesn't find a good time to bring it up.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: His reaction in ''Dragon Drama'' to chewing Flamegirl out in ''Awaken The Beast'', which in the very next episode makes him worry that Flamegirl and Alpha might not even like him anymore.
* TheNoseless: Has no nose.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Possibly. Although Kirb is capable of some pretty impressive combat maneuvers (such as his fight against Sniperwheel in "Mansion Midnight"), his opponents often get the better of him. But it's hard not to get the impression he's holding back after it's been revealed that he and Zetto are one and the same. It's possible that his insistence to Alpha that he "let him" win in the first episode might have actually been true.
* TheRealMan: For him, TOME is ''all'' about the combat and he mutters angrily when he dislikes being in Sanctuary since there's no combat there.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red Oni to Alpha's Blue Oni.
* [[SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan Sensitive Guy And Manly Guy]] The manly guy to Archy's Sensitive Guy, being the gruff, tough, and sarcastic member of the duo.
* ShortRangeGuyLongRangeGuy: The short range guy to Archy's long range guy once they team up for the tournament
* SourSupporter: Not really a fan of the whole "quest to defeat the hackers" thing. This is, of course, because he is Zetto and doesn't want Alpha to get in the way of Kizuna and his' mission.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: It's revealed in Episode 10 that Kirbopher and Zetto are the same player using two different characters when it's shown that both his and Zetto's eyes turn gray in the episode and it's stated to be signifying him "disconnecting" from his character and reconnecting to the other character without logging out of TOME. The only time we had seen them interact prior to TheReveal was a match in the Gemini Tournament, and the fact that Kirbopher didn't fight back or talk to Zetto ended up being a hint that both characters were controlled by the same player
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Alpha.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: With Flamegirl.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: Kirbopher hates role-players and fake people, but HE's actually been LivingADoubleLife from the beginning.

!!!Associated Tropes:
* AgeLift: Although she's still a teenager, she's a much older one compared to her original self.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: It's ''incredibly'' subtle in her Season 1 design and becomes clearer in her Season 2 re-design. The ambiguity is done away with entirely in the fact bubble specials where Kirb confirms she's half-Filipino, and she's portrayed by Emily Nicolas (a Filipino-American) during the real life segment at the end.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Alpha at the end of episode 7
* BattleCouple: With Alpha in the tournament.
* BrainsAndBrawn: Flamegirl is the brains, Nylocke is the brawn. Flamegirl being more level-headed than Nylocke is, often brings him back to earth, when he gets too into roleplaying his character.
* BoyishShortHair: After her ImportantHairCut. She definitely doesn't mind the hairstyle either.
* CompositeCharacter: [=Kirbopher15=]'s original role in the story as the host for the D-Bug's A.I. has been transferred to her, since he and Zetto are now one and the same.
* CooldownHug: Brings Alpha out of the Forbidden Power's influence with one in episode 3. And Episode 7, an episode which seems to imply her touching him has some [[PowerNullifier special power]] that brings Alpha out of his demon form.
* DashAttack: Her skill "Rocket Burn", is a dashing attack where she charges toward an opponent, while enveloping her body in flames.
* {{Escapism}}: Flamegirl says she plays TOME to get away from drama in real life. And now that that drama is starting to leak into her game-life as well she wishes things could be the way they were before.
* FingerGun: Her method of firing, well, [[PlayingWithFire fire]].
* FinishingMove: The "Vulcan Rocket", a combination of the moves Vulcan Fist, and Rocket Burn that Alpha and Flamegirl use in the Gemini Tournament.
* FirstNameBasis: With Alpha, onscreen as of "The Warring Demons", but probably as far back as "Infectuation".
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Phlegmatic.
* TheHeart: She keeps the group together and the boys in line. She's the moral center of the group. She cuts Kirb down a peg, when needed, brings Nylocke down to earth when he's too into his roleplaying, and helps Alpha learn about TOME, due to his inexperience.
* ImportantHaircut: Happens when she brings Alpha out of his demon form with a CooldownHug in episode 7. WordOfGod Says its because Ravenfreak planted her powers in her hair.
* InSeriesNickname: "Flamey" (though Saturndiva calls her "Flames" instead).
** [[StalkerWithACrush Neomutant]] was the first to call her by her ''real name'', which is apparently a big no-no in TOME (we've never seen ''anybody'' else do it before). After their RelationshipUpgrade, Alpha switches to "Stephanie" as well.
* TheLeader: Flamegirl is the leader of the anti-hacker group, despite the fact that Nylocke started it. This shows primarily in Episode 11, when Flamegirl attacks and agressively talks down Odboll without putting up with any of his [[ClusterFBomb Non]][[{{Troll}} sense]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: Flamegirl's is called "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/hot-stuff-comin-thru Hot Stuff Comin' Thru]]". As rearranged by Music/TheLivingTombstone, it doubles as the LoveTheme for Alpha and Flamey, under the title "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/michael-stephanie-by-thelivingtombstone Michael & Stephanie]]".
** However, "Hot Stuff" is often used in scenes and even episodes where Flamegirl is not present, which initially led some fans to believe that it was intended as the ;Lavendera theme. (Niosi admitted in a chat that "I can see that".)
* MaleGaze: Mostly unintentional, but sometimes we get a few butt shots of Flamey.
** Invoked by Niosi himself at one point, in reference to [[http://kirbopher15.deviantart.com/#/d5gqjl7 one of his newer promotional posters]]:
--> '''Niosi''': "There’s a few problems, mostly with Flamey’s butt. I need to butt better. I promise I’ll butt better next time."
* MercyKill: Does this to Neomutant, forcing him to log out, so that Alpha's virus powers don't hurt him in real life.
* PlayingWithFire: She's a caster with fire powers.
* PowerNullifier: She can deactivate Alpha's "Forbidden Power" by touching his character.
* PowersAsPrograms: Justified, as it’s a literal program; Ravenfreak attached an antivirus program to her character, which acts as a sort of KryptoniteFactor to the Forbidden Power.
* TheReveal: Flamegirl's real name is Stephanie.
* TeamMom: Also the de facto leader of the FiveManBand, though the amount of authority she has varies wildly depending on the situation.
* TechnicolorFire: A purple flame appears around her when she's using her "powers".
* TheRealMan: Mostly interested in the combat aspect of TOME. Though seemingly not to the extent that Kirbopher is interested in it since she does take part in the social aspect often as well.
* ValleyGirl: Literally, but not personality-wise, in a [[SubvertedTrope subversion]] of the trope.
* WingsDoNothing: Wings in TOME are pretty much mostly aesthetic. Although Kirbopher claims they boost agility.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: With Kirbopher.
* WreathedInFlames: Has a "charging dash attack" that envelopes her body in flames.
* {{Xenafication}}: Compared to her original character in TTA, Flamey definitely qualifies.

!!!Associated Tropes:

* AchillesHeel: The Forbidden Power, due to it being the evil counterpart to Sofdti (Gamecrazed's true identity).
* AdaptationSpeciesChange: In TTA, Gamecrazed's player was human. In TOME, he is actually an AI, being a shadow of [=SOFDTI=].
* AdaptedOut: The human player, Nate, behind the original Gamecrazed from TTA no longer exists - or at least, doesn't play TOME in this version. The same goes for his younger brother Gamecrasher, who has no equivalent character at all.
* BigGood: Is definitely one of the most powerful members of the the main 5, even defeating Webmaster in combat. Episode 15 reveals that he is a creation of [=SOFDTI=], acting as a guardian of the game and her main body while she slept.
* CastingAShadow: His power is shadows.
* ChargedAttack: When equipped with the drain edge he can unleash one of these if he [[EnergyAbsorption absorbs enough damage]] by blocking.
* CombatPragmatist: Takes fighting extremely seriously, and will take just about any risk to win.
* ConservationOfNinjutsu: A lot of the time this is the reason for GC's badass moments. The show likes to pit him against multiple minor characters at once, which so far he's always gotten the advantage in combat ability from.
* DarkIsNotEvil: His dark appearance, and power over shadows convey more of a distantness to other people. He's not a bad person. In fact many people call him a NiceGuy.
* EnergyAbsorption: When equipped with the Drain Edge he can convert blocked damage into energy. He has since given it to Nylocke.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Melancholic.
* InSeriesNickname: His name often gets shortened down to "GC".
* ItHasBeenAnHonor: More or less says this to Nylocke as he praises Nylocke's selflessness and altruistic nature.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Fittingly GC's is called "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/purple-shadows Purple Shadows]]".
* LeeroyJenkins: Due to his doing anything to win, his willingness to throw himself into danger to act as a barrier to shield his friends, and taking on enemies much larger than himself head on.
* LivingShadow: Gamecrazed's character is a literal shadow person as an extension of him being of the morphological class. Even more so with the Season 2 finale, revealing Gamecrazed was [=SOFDTI=]'s Shadow all along.
* MadeOfIron: To what extent is still unknown, but Gamecrazed can certainly take a lot of punishment.
* MetaphoricallyTrue: Their official profile lists their location as "Unknown, US". Given they're actually SOFDTI's shadow in the game that would mean that their "real world" location would be wherever in the US the TOME servers are kept.
* MorphWeapon: As a morphological character, Gamecrazed shapes his right hand into a sword for melee attacks.
* MythologyGag: Turns out GC is a shadow character coming from SOFDTI's core. This brings to mind the Shadow users that came from a virus infected Motherboard in the original' season 3 (Motherboard is the original's equivalent to [=SOFDTI=]]).
* MysteriousPast: To the point where it's unclear as to whether or not he's even ''human'' until TheReveal that he's [=SOFDTI's=] shadow.
* NiceGuy: Asterob thinks so. And Kirb and Nye agree with him.
* NoMouth: Probably contributes to his mysteriousness as it makes it hard to tell what he's feeling/thinking a lot of the time.
* NoSenseOfHumor: A relatively understated example, but he still stands out amongst his more humorous (and/or sarcastic) teammates.
** "Dragon Drama" proves that he actually ''does'' have a sense of humour - just an incredibly dry and understated one which he chooses to deploy only on ''very'' rare occasions.
* NotSoStoic: It's rare that he becomes visibly upset, but in episode 04 when Flamegirl suggests that the gang get together in real life - he says "it's... just not possible for me to get there" with a crestfallen look on his face. Also in episode 08; GC glares at Kirbopher when he acts upset at the tournament after asking him "What do YOU have to be upset about?".
* PlotBasedVoiceCancellation: In episode 13, only the music can be heard playing when he tells Nylocke why he can't go with him and the others to the D-Bug Organizations' base. Nylocke was shocked upon hearing it and Chris Niosi has said that whatever Nylocke was told will remain a mystery, although it probably has something to do with the fact that Gamecrazed is really an avatar for SOFDTI.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: His purple color is used to indicate his dark, dry, and mysterious personality.
* PurpleIsPowerful: He's purple and one of the best players at combat in the group.
* TheQuietOne: He only speaks up if it's necessary. He's also the only member of the FiveManBand who never sings.
* RedBaron: Known outside his circle of friends as "The Purple Shadow of ;Lavendera".
* SamusIsAGirl: Downplayed, but present. The plot twist of Episode 15 doesn't come from the fact that Gamecrazed is female, it's the fact that s/he was a splinter of SOFDTI created to protect herself from the outside world and stop Rubirules.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Since he's of the Morphological class he can transform his arm into a blade, or even morph his body into a giant hand.
* ShoutOut: Though his design has been changed slightly, his color scheme and features make him a living one to the Platform/NintendoGameCube.
* TheSmartGuy: He's very knowledgable about the mechanics of TOME, CrazyPrepared, and a clever strategist
* TheSocialExpert: Weirdly enough. Despite being a bit anti-social sometimes he's an excellent judge of character and noticed straight away that Nylocke was troubled. After the reveal that Gamecrazed was an avatar for [=SOFDTI=], this trait of his makes much more sense. He can literally read minds.
-->'''Gamecrazed:''' This area is something special isn't it?
-->'''Hyprelynx:''' How... Wow! You're good!
* SpannerInTheWorks: Since nobody was supposed to be at The Mansion until it was open for all the players to see, if Gamecrazed had not snuck into the mansion on the same night, the hackers' plan to steal the drain weapons in episode 2 would have succeeded.
* SpockSpeak: From the first episode you see he speaks with very good grammar, avoids slang, and contractions and sounds very intelligent and distant because of it.
* TheStoic: The whole NoMouth thing helps here, as it makes it much harder to tell when he's actually "smiling".
* VocalEvolution: Gamecrazed's voice gradually increases in pitch as Gamecrazed gets a better understanding of emotions through interacting with the others.

!!![[MadlibsCatchphrase NNNNYLOCKE! Master Of]] Having The Most Trope Associations!:
* ActorAllusion: Nylocke refers to a “One Turn Kill” in episode 10. This is a rather self-explanatory Yu-Gi-Oh term, carrying over from Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged.
* AgeLift: The original Nailock was a teenager, but here, he's a full-blown adult.
* AdaptationalNationality: On that same note, Nylocke's TTA counterpart was an American (though a huge Fanboy of Japanese culture). Here, Nylocke is a full-grown adult from Knutsford, England; whose Fanboy Japanese has been swapped out for YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe.
* AnimalEyes: While they're normally drawn without any pupils, when Nylocke breaks character, he gets lizard-like slits in his eyes as a visual cue for the audience. This only happens three times in the entire series.
* BeneathTheMask: Nylocke broke character when he spoke to Gamecrazed in episode 06 and revealed that he's just a normal guy and that he sees life as difficult and TOME is the only downtime he has. The events of episode 5 have really gotten to him.
* BecomingTheMask: Gets ''way'' too in-character compared to any of his comrades, and refuses to break character even under serious circumstances. He does, however, break character when experiencing strong emotions.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: A rare example of a SupportingProtagonist being this. Usually triggers when his [[ThePowerOfFriendship friends]] are in trouble. And no he's not that other [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass silly badass trope]], because it's [[ObfuscatingStupidity the character]] [[TheRolePlayer he's playing]] that's silly.
* {{BFS}}: Wields a very large blade of ice. Bonus points for resting it across his shoulder while idle.
* BigGood: The closest thing TOME had to a big good until the reveal of SOFDTI and the Netkings; He started the quest to defeat the hackers at Gamecrazed's suggestion.
* TheBigGuy: Focused a lot on heavy damage with his broadsword and ice attacks. But he's also very big in stature compared to the rest of the group.
* BladeAcrossTheShoulder: At times, when sitting idly.
* BrainsAndBrawn: Flamegirl is the brains, Nylocke is the brawn, at least according to Niosi himself. Nylocke isn't ''stupid'', per se, but is often rash and bombastic, requiring Flamey to keep him in check. He fits this dynamic with Gamecrazed as well.
* CharacterCatchphrase: Nylocke has a few of them, but his most prominent is his MadLibsCatchphrase, "NYLOCKE, MASTER/DRAGON OF..." followed by something relevant to the situation or narration.
* CharacterDevelopment: Whether it's the player or the character he's roleplaying getting this is up for debate, but Nylocke has come to realize that he's made some thoughtless mistakes and learnt from them after facing the consequences of his actions and it shows.
* ChargedAttack: After GC gives him the drain edge as a gift he can unleash a charged attack if the drain edge [[EnergyAbsorption absorbs enough damage by blocking.]]
* CompositeCharacter: In a strange way, with the original [=Kirbopher15=] (to make up for elements and plot threads lost due to the merger with Zetto). Nylocke is the one to tell Zetto to lighten up about TOME, and uses the Drain Edge to seal away the Forbidden Power (both of which were things done by [=Kirbopher15=] in TTA). Nylocke is also the one most passionate about stopping the hackers (which Kirb was in the source material) and even has the goofy ShipTease with Whyti that Kirb had with [=WhiteQueen=], none of which would work for the new version due to Kirb's secret identity. As a side-effect of this, Nylocke has a lot more character to him than his TTA counterpart did (the role-playing persona that he adopts also has a lot to do with this, of course).
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Dragon Drama" is definitely this kind of episode for Nylocke. Not only does he get all the screen-time, and a theme song despite being a supporting protagonist. Niosi also described it as "a character study" of Nylocke in this episode's commentary.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: The Deuteragonist is also called "The Impact character", and boy does Nylocke leave one. A phenomenal amount of episodes, and two shorts give Nylocke quite a bit of screen time, and a lot of effort is put in to show his point of view on the show's events. Niosi has said that Nylocke represents an element of [[BigGood "goodness"]] in the show, and with his heroism, and his drive to fight the hackers it really shows. To the point where he often overshadows the ''main hero'', Alpha, a lot of the time. There's also a lot of focus on Nylocke balancing his sense of fun, and positivity with the dramatic events in the show. Overall in terms of character development he received a major upgrade from his role as a sort of [[Manga/DragonBall "Yamcha"]] in the original series, (as one of the staff phrased it in the ''Dragon Drama'' commentary) to become a very important character.
* DraconicHumanoid: Nylocke's character is a "Dragon Man". He won his Dragon Man character by being the [[MythologyGag 1,111,111th player]] to register to play TOME.
* EnergyAbsorption: After GC gives him the drain edge as a gift he can convert blocked damage into energy.
* {{Escapism}}: Nylocke admits that outside of TOME he's just "an ordinary chap". He goofs off in TOME as a way to let off steam and escape life's problems. Because of this, if anything gets in the way of his sense of fun, he tries to block it out. He's aware that it's a character flaw and struggles with this because he also wants help his friends.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: The sixth short reveals how he got his "stalwart stubble". he took a bit of Serpentine's slashed off facial hair and equipped it as a power up. He was literally GrowingTheBeard in terms of CharacterDevelopment and learning how much his actions affect others around him, such as Serpentine and Demonking. His bangs, which used to hang to the side of his head, are now pulled back more out of his eyes and behind his ears as well. His first appearance with the new look was in Episode 08.
* FieryRedhead: Loud, very passionate, strong and positive. with an outgoing personality, and strong interest in good and heroism. Also a bit of a motormouth sometimes.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Sanguine.
* FullNameBasis: Nylocke is the only character who regularly addresses Flamegirl and Gamecrazed by their full usernames (along with Kirbopher, at least when he pronounces it correctly), as part of his role playing. A sure sign that he's broken character in "Dragon Drama" is him casually referring to Kirbopher as simply "Kirb".
* GRatedDrug: Is under a coffee high during the tournament, and a 2 day grinding session before. Making him much more of a MotorMouth than usual.
-->'''Nylocke''' ''[[MotorMouth ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE CUPS PER HOUR!!]]''
* IHaveManyNames: Nylocke's many titles. This is even [[LampShadeHanging lamp shaded]] by Nylocke himself in his themesong.
* AnIcePerson: His power is ice, and there's his main title "Dragon of the cold steel" referencing his sword.
* InSeriesNickname: "Nye".
* ItsPersonal: Nylocke's stated reason for choosing to fight Rubirules.
* KirkSummation: He will often make one of these prior to engaging his enemy in combat. Surprisingly, they've been known to work on occasion.
* LargeHam: Due largely to his roleplaying a mideival hero, his NoIndoorVoice and his many catchphrases
* {{Leitmotif}}: "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/dragon-of-the-cold-steel Dragon of the Cold Steel]]", which first appears in Episode 01, and by Episode 06 is rearranged, given lyrics, and turned into [[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/album/nylockes-theme-song Nylocke's Theme Song]].
* LivingADoubleLife: In real life he's just an "ordinary chap", but in TOME He's NYLOCKE! "Master Knight",[[IHaveManyNames "Dragon Warrior"]] [[OverlyLongName "Dragon of the Cold Steel!"]]
* LoveHurts: Nylocke's backstory includes at least one failed romance which obviously still affects him.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: "NYLOCKE! Dragon/master of..." something relevant to the scene he is in.
* ManChild: He's apparently the oldest of the main characters (in his late 20s, according to Niosi), but in some ways the most emotionally immature.
* MotorMouth: He gets carried away sometimes when he's ''really'' into his character. Seems almost euphoric for him.
* NiceGuy: Nylocke may be eccentric, but he's definitely a nice guy who has no intentions of hurting anyone and when he does, he tries to make things right.
* NoIndoorVoice: Mostly because of his hamminess while roleplaying. He speaks in a booming baritone.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Nylocke is an avid roleplayer. If ''he'' breaks character, you know something big is about to happen.
* OutOfSightOutOfMind: Nylocke decides to rid the virtual world of the [[SealedEvilInACan now trapped]] Forbidden Power "once and for all"! By ''chucking the thing all the way into the sanctuary region.''
* PointyEars: Because he's a dragon person, it emphasizes the in-game character isn't an ordinary human.
* TheRolePlayer: Though there's a couple of moments where he comes close to breaking character... and a couple more instances where he does so outright.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: He will occasionally yell "''whoosh!''" whenever he is dashing from one area to the next. He also did this while making a [[ShoutOut reference]] to a Looney Tunes episode of Daffy duck when he shouted things like "parry!" "dodge!" "thrust!"
* SecretKeeper: When he asks Gamecrazed why he won't go to the D-Bug Organization's base in episode 13, GC tells him why as only the background music can be heard. Upon hearing it Nylocke is clearly shocked by what GC told him, when Nylocke meets up with Flamegirl and Alpha he doesn't tell them why Gamecrazed wouldn't be coming.
* ShipperOnDeck: For Alpha/Flamegirl.
* ShipTease: With Whyti. He plays her knight in shining armor rather well and she genuinely enjoys his antics rather than just tolerating them.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: Nylocke has trouble dealing with emotional situations - often evading them whenever he is confronted by them - and has been shown to be surprisingly cavalier about the feelings of others in the past. This is despite being a very popular and gregarious player overall, and makes for a good contrast with the quiet and mysterious - but highly perceptive and insightful - Gamecrazed.
* SparingTheAces: In the final battle of the Gemini Tournament Nylocke is put in a position where Zetto is severely weakened and could have easily been defeated with one last attack. But he spares him and throws the match in hope that his undeserved [[PyrrhicVictory "victory"]] will make Zetto grow as a person and lighten up a little bit.
VerbalTic: "''Whoosh!''," used whenever he's dashing offscreen.
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: Replacing the anime influences of his speech in the original, it emphasizes that he's play acting a character. Nylocke does live in [[UsefulNotes/UnitedKingdom England]] though so there's probably some influence there. Although the scene with the quest giver seems to imply that this is the default roleplaying syntax.

* BoisterousBruiser: He's quite bombastic, and loves boasting about his skills.
* {{BFG}}: Sniperwheel essentially ''is'' one of these.
* ChewingTheScenery: A lot of his funniest bits come from ''[[WebVideo/JonTron Jon's]]'' use of emphasis and extreme emotion in his acting for Sniperwheel. A lot of the time this happens when he's getting ready for a fight or trash talking.
* ComicalOverreacting: On one occasion in ''Gemini Tournament Yin''.
-->'''Asterob''': "''Augh. How did I let him talk me into this?''"\
'''Sniperwheel''': "''HEY! You're not complaining are you? BECAUSE THAT SOUNDED LIKE COMPLAINING!''"\
'''Asterob''': ''"No! No! [[ApologisesALot I'm sorry! I'm sorry!]]"''
* CreepyLongFingers: Comes with being of the mechanical class. His fingers are long sharp, and metallic.
* FantasticFragility: While his "headcannon" is an extremely powerful move his breakdown says it takes a great amount of time to charge, during which he's vulnerable to attacks. Kirbopher demonstrates how you can take advantage of this drawback as early as episode 02.
* FinishingMove: His "Headcannon" attack is used this way on opponents where his other moves aren't enough to finish them. It's an extremely powerful {{BFG}} that shoots a giant laser beam. His character breakdown says it's an attack that "covers the entire length of the battlefield". His use of it ''as'' a finishing move proves to be his undoing during the Gemini Tournament because he was so used to it being a one-shot win that when Gamecrazed and Nylocke countered it he was reduced to a panicking mess.
* MotorMouth: A lot of his funny moments comes from him doing this while making witty banter before and during a fight.
* {{Pun}}:
-->"It's my [[{{BFG}} Headcannon]]. And in my [[{{Canon}} Headcanon]], you die!"

* BritishStuffiness: He's a bit reserved, but his stuffiness mostly comes about when Kirb and Nye trespass on the mansion before it's ready for the players.

* ChekhovsGun: His shield and Drain Edge later prove to have much more use than merely for battle. They are able to absorb and contain the Forbidden Power.
* EnergyAbsorption: His shield absorbs damage from attacks and turns it into energy.
* TheGlassesComeOff: During his match against Nylocke and Gamecrazed, he removes his glasses and hat before declaring he's ready to give a serious fight.

* NerdGlasses: Has very thick glasses that don't seem to leave much room for his nose. Clearly inspired from the voice actor's appearance, but also may have something to do with the character being a graphics designer.

* AdaptationalComicRelief: His role when compared to his counterpart in TTA. In TTA, Ericho was seemingly killed as a catalyst for the D-Bug HQ infiltration arc, only to not be quite dead, restored in the Season 2 finale, and then PutOnABus due to his parents' concerns following what he had been through. In TOME, Archy doesn't go through such trauma.
* AdaptationNameChange: His name was "Ericho" in the original.
* AnIcePerson: He has ice arrows.
* ArrowsOnFire: One of his arrow attacks are writhed in fire.
* BackForTheFinale: Appears again one last time in Episode 15 to be saved by Rockoon as part of the latter's redemption.
* CannotSpitItOut: Has a real hard time asking Kirbopher directly that he wants to team up with him in the tournament.
* TheCutie: Adorable, kind, helpful, curious and naive. In contrast to Kirbopher's grumpy and sarcastic tendencies.
* DemotedToExtra: His original counterpart Ericho was a very important supporting character. Here Archy is just there to fill out the tournament roster and provide some comedy.
* HintDropping: Tries to show off his arrows to give Kirb a reason to team up in the tournament.
* HolyHandGrenade: His Light arrows, which are also interchangeable with ShockAndAwe.
* InnocentBlueEyes: Being one of the youngest characters in the show he's portrayed as being one of the most innocent. And clueless.
* LongRangeFighter: Due to his character being archer themed.
* NiceGuy: He's definitely very polite, and anybody who would persist in trying to ask Kirbopher to join the tournament even with all his yelling and vitriol is undoubtedly good at heart.
* PoisonedWeapons: Has some "funky poison arrows"
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Sensitive guy to Kirbopher's Manly Guy, being the shy, adorable, and [[NiceGuy nicer member]] of the duo.
* ShortRangeGuyLongRangeGuy: The long range guy to Kirbopher's short range guy once they team up for the tournament
* ShockAndAwe: Interchangable with HolyHandGrenade as noted for other characters, although they're arrows with electric sparks.
* TagAlongKid: To Kirbopher who he pesters into letting him team up in the Gemini Tournament.
* TooDumbToLive: Archy and Rockoon recreate a classic gag from WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes, when Rockon asks him to hold one of his bombs as a favor. Archy, being naive and helpful, takes it cheerfully. He gets caught in the bomb's explosion, and dies in their first round of the Tournament.

!!!Associated Tropes:

* AllThereInTheManual: Tigerlilly's name was first revealed on the TOME Facebook page.
* AnimalMotifs: Often attributed to cats as a theme. First being with a logo based off of one. Justified when it's revealed Tigerlily's a giant cat.
* BatmanGambit: Tigerlilly tends to form her plans based on how the main characters would usually act in a situation. Like Alpha being baited into "saving" Flamegirl in episode 03 so they can provoke him into using the Forbidden Power or Flamegirl being able to pacify the FB with the power they planted on her because she's generally always hanging out with Alpha when they're both logged in, and knowing that she would still willingly help him when she figured it out. as examples. The reason this works out is because She has Zetto/Kirb feeding her info on Alpha's Status, and is also spying on the main characters in her small cat form.
* BeastOfBattle: Modelled after a giant cat, and fierce as any beast in battle, taking out even Gamecrazed at one point.
* BigBad: According to Neomutant, Tigerlilly was planning to blackmail the Netkings by capturing the Forbidden Power. Ultimately subverted, as Neomutant is a liar who was doing his best to trick the main heroes, and in reality she was planning to do nothing of the sort (though she's still a little morally grey, she's nowhere near the greatest threat in the story).
* ExtraEyes: Has four eyes instead of two.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Has a cute name despite being very threatening in person.
* GlowingMechanicalEyes: Used to make the character intimidating, [[GlowingEyesOfDoom and portray the character as someone not to be reckoned with]].
* {{Griefer}}: Tigerlilly harasses the main characters with cheapshots starting in "Awaken the Beast".
* KnightOfCerebus: The show takes a darker turn after Tigerlilly appears.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/the-hacker-factor The Hacker Factor]]", shared with all the other hackers.
* LoudOfWar: Harrasses and stuns the other characters in real life with an ear-piercing roar. Probably stuns them through a loud sound going through their headphones.
* MightyGlacier: Her [[http://kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/71541445432/username-kizuna-location-unknown-us-class character breakdown]] states that Tigerlilly trades speed for her amazing offensive power.
* MightyRoar: Tigerlilly can use a very unsettling loud roar as an attack, displayed as green sound waves, which manages to actually hurt players inside the game.
* MysteriousWatcher: She uses a smaller cat form to watch the main characters discreetly.
* NighInvulnerable: Nothing short of Demon Alpha has inflicted any significant damage.
* TheVoice: Until TheReveal, the only visual clue we had to this mastermind's identity was a crudely-drawn logo.
* TheWorfEffect: In ''Awaken the Beast'' Tigerlilly winds up on both ends of the trope--first [[NoSell shrugging off]] Gamecrazed's Drain Edge and swatting him apart, and then being blown into LudicrousGibs by Demon Alpha and Rubirules.

!!!Associated Tropes:
* AdaptationExpansion: Raccoon was a minor character in the original series, but thanks to the influence of Deven Mack, Rockoon became a significant side character in ''TOME'' with his own subplot featuring his relationship with Doubling's player.
* AdaptationalHeroism: The original Raccoon was a lot worse than Rockoon ever was, being willing to kill the main characters in real life ForTheEvulz. Rockoon never goes to these same extremes, and thanks to his significant CharacterDevelopment, he eventually pulls a HeelFaceTurn and becomes a much nicer person.
* AlliterativeName: His real name, Rodney Rockwell - probably a nod to some of the characters who inspired him, such as [[WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck]].
* AssimilationBackfire: In ''Fraggedquest'' he hacks and merges his character with the Shadowguard Beast quest mob, giving him massive size and power. At the same time he inherits its intended kill strategy, involving a specific sequence of elemental attacks. He plans for this, removing Alpha from the battle because he's the party's only [[ShockAndAwe lightning-element]], basically making him unbeatable... if not for Alpha getting back in using his virus power.
* BerserkButton: Don't ever call him a "rodent".
* BlackAndNerdy: Deven Mack agreed to play the character only on the condition that he could portray him this way.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: His eyes have Black sclera combined with red eyes, and he's clearly crazy or at least playing a crazy guy, while playing TOME.
* BreakoutVillain: A big part of the reason he reappears so much compared to the other hackers is because of his popularity with the fanbase.
* CantSpitItOut: A non-romantic version, but according to the [[WordOfGod Fact Bubble special]] version of Episode 15, he'd typed, deleted and retyped his apology note to Doubling about ten times, and it's unclear if he ever actually sent it.
* CreepyLongFingers: His fingers are long black animal claws. While they do accentuate his villainous traits, they're also used for a digging attack. So they're not purely aesthetic.
* CurbStompBattle: Generally on the receiving end at Kirb's hands. It's also discussed in Episode 08 as a pun when attempting a final blow on Kirbopher, where he literally tries to stomp a "Kirb".
--> '''Rockoon''': ''[[IAlwaysWantedToSayThat I've always wanted to say this]]. [[CurbStompBattle KIIIIIIIRB STOOOOMMMP]]!''
* ADayInTheLimelight: Has at least three different shorts focused on himself and his relationship with both TOME and the players he meets/works with.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Raccoon and Sojojo were extremely similar in the original series, but in ''TOME,'' Odboll represents what Rockoon could have been without a moral code.
* TheEndIsNigh: Parodied in ''The Infiltration Mission'', when Rockoon waves around a sign that says "Game Over" while ranting about how TOME might be shut down. The situation is ironically much more serious than he thinks it is.
* FangsAreEvil: Has jagged sharp teeth. Although his character's based off a carnivorous animal they way it's used would still allude to his tendency to do things ForTheEvulz.
* FunnyAnimal
* GoldfishPoopGang: He's very much a comedic recurring character with a tendency to cause pesky inconveniences for the main characters. Although he can become a threat to them too as shown in ''Fraggedquest''.
* GoshDangItToHeck: The "good little Christian boy" doesn't curse, forced to rely on this, "Motherscratchers." One of his first lines is even "Well, Darn me to Heck!"
** Hence why it's so startling when he actually swears ("I don't give a damn!") and really leads up to the [[TearJerker tearjerker of him running Skeight off and realizing too late who he was]].[[invoked]]
* GravityIsAHarshMistress: Rockoon re-creates this classic gag at the end of "Fraggedquest".
* {{Griefer}}: Of all the hackers, he fits this description best, for his taking amusement in relentlessly annihilating, groups of common players. That was, until [[{{Jerkass}} Odboll]] came onto the scene...
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: How Kirbopher defeats him in ''You've Gotta Virus''.
* HeelFaceTurn: Gets to have one in the finale when he starts typing an apology to Doubling we get to see that he's changed a lot for the better. He then chickens out, deletes the message, and saves Archy from being picked on by [[{{Jerkass}} Odboll]].
* HiddenDepths: Episode 4's fact bubble special says Rockoon genuinely likes animals and knows quite a bit about them, being a know it all about it, which also attributes to his frustrations of being called a Rodent.
* IAmNotWeasel: "Raccoons are not part of the Rodent family and are more closely related to bears so heeeeeeey."
* ItAmusedMe: Unlike most of the other hackers, who are in it for [[OnlyInItForTheMoney strictly financial reasons]], Rockoon takes genuine pleasure in his handiwork.
* LargeHam: He has his moments. Especially when roleplaying.
* MadBomber: Has tons of fun blowing up the players, and landscape of ;Lavendera with his explosives. Laughing, and smiling with glee the whole time he's doing it.
* MotorMouth: He likes to talk a lot. When joined with Doubling he's constantly told to shut up.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When Rockoon finally puts together Skeight is really Doubling right after sending him off Rockoon breaks down into tears.
* MyGreatestSecondChance: He attempts to swallow his pride and apologize to Doubling[=/=]Skeight but changes his mind. When he sees Archy being bullied by Odboll, he then step in to saves him and offers a hand to him, allowing him another shot at friendship.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Despite Rockoon normally subsituting swears he tells off Skeight with "I don't give a DAMN!"
* OneWingedAngel: He hacks into the Shadow Guard Beast, [[FusionDance merging with it]] to transform into a massive demonic version of himself in "Fraggedquest". It made him a significantly greater threat than normal, with all attacks on him being a NoSell.
* PaletteSwap: He created a bright red alternate character called "Rackoon" so he wouldn't be barred from entering the Gemini Tournament. He's mocked for this.
* PoorCommunicationKills: His entire partnership with Skeight consisted of him treating his "new" partner like dirt while complaining about Doubling ditching him. Based on how devastated he was when he realized that Skeight ''is'' Doubling too late to apologize, he only complained about his old partner so much because of anger over being ditched.
* PragmaticAdaptation: Raccoon's speech in the original was mostly poorly-spelled gibberish to emphasize his immaturity. As the original mostly used unvoiced text dialog (outside of specials) and the reboot is fully-voiced, this aspect wouldn't translate as well with Rockoon.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: To emphasize his tendency to do antagonize other characters ForTheEvulz, and his being a hacker.
* SelfServingMemory: His flashback of why Doubling left, is modified so he has more reason to blame Doubling, and feel sorry for himself. Still, it's pretty funny.
* ShoutOut: Many to pop culture. But in particular his running animation is a reference to the spinning of Taz the Tasmanian Devil in ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes''.
* TalkativeLoon: As he himself notes:
-->"Wow. I talk funny."
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: Rockoon's Power is explosives.
* {{Troll}}: Openly mocks and breaks the rules and limits of the game. Creates chaos in the virtual world of TOME. Tricks, deceives, steals, and tries to be a general nuisance to other players (mostly the heroes) for his own amusement. Finally he's definitely inspired by ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' characters. Chris Niosi says most of the hackers were inspired by real internet trolls.
-->"U mad?"
* UnusualEuphemism: Unlike Doubling, he does not curse, instead preferring to use these.
* VillainousBSOD: Learning that Skeight was Doubling ''breaks him''.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Doubling. Although his language is much more tame since doesn't curse. He genuinely enjoys their exchanges, constantly grinning while they trade insults.

* AllThereInTheManual: Niosi writes in Skeight's breakdown, that Doubling developed an attachment to Rockoon in the hackers short, and started to miss his antics with Rockoon after he left TOME. Being too prideful to show his face again he created a new character, to try and fool Rockoon into thinking he's a fanboy of his, and join him in the tournament.

* ApologisesALot: "Sorry" is even his first line.
* AntiVillain: Has sympathetic motives, seems genuinely apologetic for the chaos he unleashes upon ;Mechcity, and is even successfully redeemed by Nylocke through KirkSummation.
* BeardOfEvil: Appears in Short 06 with a short moustache and beard combo. It's used to emphasize his role as an evil rival after his FaceHeelTurn.
* BigEntrance: Twice. Once in episode three he flies down into battle with a fiery explosion as he appears. And then again in Short 06 in which He brings a ''whole cliffside'' with him and crashes the large purple rock into the ground at Nylocke's feet so that he "can look down upon" Nylocke.. Both are awesome entrances indeed.
* BigRedDevil: His character model draws some inspiration from the classic devil design.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: His eyes have red irises on a black sclera. It's likely Demonking's player intentionally designed his character that way to be intimidating. they sure make him look intimidating in Short 06.
%%* CourteousCanadian: He fits the "says sorry all the time" sterotype.%%How?
* FaceOfAThug: Most certainly an InvokedTrope in his character design to make it more intimidating. This even translates to his text, which is crooked and imposing even as he wholeheartedly admits the only reason he was working with d-buggers.org was for money to start going to school again.
* FriendlyEnemy: After he makes up with Nylocke, the dragon encourages Demonking to continue as a villain. Though now it's all in good fun as a pair of roleplayers.
* {{Hellfire}}: His power is casting "hellfires".
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: [[ThenLetMeBeEvil After what happened at the end of the Nylocke's Day Off short.]] But it ultimately becomes this in that Demonking, despite now being a villain, is more of a roleplayer just like Nylocke. The latter of which encourages this to make amends for offending him.
* HeelFaceTurn: Appears to have turned to the side of the heroes after episode 3 after he befriends Nylocke.
* IncomingHam:
-->"*using a hammy evil voice* ''Since I thought this was a such a special occasion I thought I'd bring my own cliff with which to look down upon you! NYLOCKE! Master of being too easily surprised! ahahaha!''"
* LargeHam: He becomes this when he starts roleplaying a villainious rival to get back at Nylocke. Plus his actor used a similar voice to his rendition of Dio Brando in a ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure [[TheAbridgedSeries Abridged Series]]''. Making it double as a ShoutOut. Even his entrance and exit are hammy. He flies away forebodingly as he bids Nylocke farewell.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: The first word out of his mouth is "sorry", he always says "please", ''and'' he doesn't want to "burn this nice lookin' park or anything". Then he TookALevelInBadass and showed SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct as a villain by having a MUCH more sinister voice, dialogue, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and styling mustache]].
* OnlyInItForTheMoney:
--> "They said if I did this they'd pay me enough to go back to school... I just wanna go back to school. Is that so much to ask?"
* PlayingWithFire: as noted above he's a fire spell caster.
* PointyEars: Since his character is a demon. Like Nylocke it's probably intentionally chosen by the character's player to emphasize the character as different from ordinary humans in-game.
%%* PunchClockVillain:
* SwiperNoSwiping: Nylocke merely tells Demonking to stop hacking, because it's wrong, and he does, which is PlayedForLaughs
* TookALevelInBadass: Once he takes up his villainous roleplaying persona he becomes ''frighteningly'' effectual and intimidating, though the fact that he's now having actual fun with the game might be what makes the difference.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He wears no shirt.

* BatmanGambit: Using Flamegirl to draw out Alpha's Forbidden Power? Check. Using Flamegirl to carry the Forbidden Power's weakness? Yes on D-buggers.org's part.
* ButHeSoundsHandsome: The non-canonical "Ask Kirb" blog has "Kirb" say this almost verbatim when asked about Ravenfreak, implying that Ravenfreak was assuming his form.
* CombatSadomasochist: Unlike the other victims, Ravenfreak sounded ''elated'' to have experienced the Forbidden Power first hand.
* CreepyCrossdresser: He takes the form of Flamegirl [[ItAmusedMe as a joke]] to mess with Alpha. Alpha didn't find it very funny.
* FeatherFlechettes: One of his attacks is feather projectiles.
* LargeHam: It comes with being a voice actor.

* AdaptationExpansion: In TTA he was just another hacker with a crush on Flamegirl, and didn't really do or accomplish much overall. In TOME his relationship with Flamegirl is much more personal, and his role in the story increased.
* AdaptationalVillainy: The Original Neomutant was an AntiVillain who eventually pulled a HeelFaceTurn and helped the gang infiltrate the hacker base purely out of the goodness of his heart. Here, Neomutant is a ManipulativeBastard who has been plotting Flamegirl's death for the whole series, and was working as TheDragon for Rubirules.
* AntiVillain: Subverted. Does seem to genuinely care about Flamegirl, and appeared to turn on D-Buggers when they turned out to be hurting people. But it turns out much of his actions were planned to trick the main characters, and he was motivated by spite.
* CasanovaWannabe: The [[AllThereIntheManual facebook]] [[https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=500134390046670&set=pb.231491923577586.-2207520000.1365884168&type=3&theater page]] tells us that "he fancies himself as being charismatic, but is really selfish [[BeneathTheMask Underneath The Mask]]".
* CoolMask: Really pulls his look together, and adds to his mysteriousness.
* DashingHispanic: His spanish/western sounding {{Leitmotif}}, and his accent seem to indicate this.
* TheDragon: To Rubirules. He's been collaborating with him on the Antivirus since before the series even started...
* DragonWithAnAgenda: ...Which he uses as an opportunity to make Flamegirl suffer as much as he can, screwing absolutely everyone over in the process.
* EntitledToHaveYou: His opinion regarding Flamegirl, and his motivation for villainy.
* EvilAllAlong: He's actually been working for Rubirules since the very beginning. He even gloats about his involvement in Flamegirl's [[DisneyDeath apparent death]], saying that "The tramp had it coming." Alpha decapitates him in the middle of his EvilLaugh out of anger.
* FangsAreEvil: The GrandFinale reveals he's got these under his mask.
* IfICantHaveYou: How he ''really'' feels about Flamegirl, despite his deceptive claims to the contrary. Episode 15 sees him refer to her as [[TheOneThatGotAway "The one that got away from me"]] and reveal the fact that ''he's pretty much been plotting her murder for the whole series.''
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Says he's pretty much already accepted that Flamegirl doesn't want to be with him, and only gets involved because he's worried about Alpha putting her in danger. [[SubvertedTrope Turns out he's lying.]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: After it's revealed that Flamegirl's life is in danger, Neomutant literally says that it's a win for everyone... "except you".
* KarmaHoudini: Alpha manages to defeat him and boot him out of the session, but considering he effectively attempted to ''murder'' Flamey (Rubirules at least didn't ''know'' she was trapped in the antivirus until it was too late), that's hardly a suitable comeuppance. However, WordOfGod [[KarmaHoudiniWarranty implies he was arrested off-screen]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: Neomutant's theme is "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/spanish-drive Spanish Drive]]".
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: At first, it seems like his "love" for Flamegirl makes him take misguided steps to protect her from Alpha, in addition to making him act dense and selfish. In truth, his feelings made him crazy in a different way - namely, in the IfICantHaveYou variety.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: After Flamegirl rejects him, Neomutant decides to use Rubirules's Antivirus as a means to attempt to murder her.
* ManipulativeBastard: Uses Alpha, Nylocke, Zetto, Kizuna, Flamegirl herself, and even ''[[GreaterScopeVillain Rubirules]]'' in his scheme to make Flamegirl suffer.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: Half of his mask is destroyed [[RuleOfSymbolism when he reveals his true colors]]. Notably, both him and his boss wear masks until the final episode.
* OhCrap: When he sees Demon Alpha for himself.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Although he claims he has good intentions all the red and black clearly portray him as being sinister.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: While he thinks he has good intentions his red eyes emphasize he's definitely not on the side of good. He also has quite a temper, and is seen abusing his hacker abilities to take out his anger on Alpha.
* ShockAndAwe: His themed attack.
* SingleTargetSexuality: He's only ever shown interest in Flamegirl, and reacts with annoyance at Dustbunny's casual flirting during the Gemini Tournament. Of course, since he's [[IfICantHaveYou plotting her murder for rejecting him]], he seems to have a pretty one-track mind.
* StalkerWithACrush: He's supposedly been after Flamegirl for a year. She is not interested in him in the slightest.
* TopHeavyGuy: He has large hulking arms, and very stumpy legs that don't seem proportional, but emphasize his strength under the fighter class.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: He doesn't understand how he could lose Flamegirl only for her to be interested in a "kid" like Alpha.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: Although it's also half green it serves the same purpose. It's spooky, mysterious, and invokes themes of masks from theatre.
** In Season 2 his body is white and his mask is purple.
* UnwittingPawn: Subverted! At first we're led to believe that Neomutant was purposely leaked information to lure Flamegirl and Nylocke into the base so they can be used for the Dragon Bug, but it turns out he was in on Rubirules's plan the entire time and is his protege.
* {{Yandere}}: Although an unusual example, as he's more interested in killing Flamegirl herself rather than getting rid of his competition. Still, he decided that if he couldn't have Flamey, then he'd ''kill'' her.

In the reboot she first appears early on during the Gemini Tournament, and plays a more prominent role in the hackers plans.
* AdaptationExpansion: Dustbunny starts off having a much more prominent role than in the original, appearing earlier on, and being given a very important mission from the hacker boss that requires her abilities to pull off without anyone noticing.
* CleavageWindow: Through the top half of her body suit. It opens up down the center like a jacket.
* FemmeFatale: Wears prominently black and is portrayed as dangerous and sexy, and towards the end of episode 8 baits TheHero Alpha into following her, claiming she'll tell him more information about his "Forbidden Power" if he meets her.
* FormFittingWardrobe: Her clothes really stick close to her body in a way similar to spandex.
* FurAndLoathing: Wears a black body suit with fur fringe, and is portrayed as being a conniving and overconfident FemmeFatale.
* GottaHaveItGonnaStealIt: Her role in the hackers mission during the tournament is to use her smoke screen abilities to create cover so she can steal Asterob's asterisk shield, because they apparently really need it's ability to drain in game energy.
* LittleBitBeastly: Has long rabbit ears to emphasize being of the animalistic class, and a rabbit tail, but the rest of her design is more human looking.
* PlayboyBunny: Of the actual bunnygirl variety.
* MsFanservice: The bikini top she's wearing is all that is covering her up through the CleavageWindow in her body suit. She also wears heavy makeup.
* SmokeOut: Her power is creating smokescreens that blur sight, and make it harder for her enemies to attack her. And she can turn ''into'' smoke as well. Niosi states in a description of the original character [[http://kirbopher15.deviantart.com/art/Dustbunny-37709705 on Deviantart]] that her powers are heavily based off Capt. 861-->'''Odboll: "WHOOO YEAH! FUCK THE POOOLLLLEEEESE 'CUZ I JUST MADE THIS JOINT MY BEEYOTCH! NYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" '''
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Rockoon and Sojojo were very similar in the original, but in this version, Odboll essentially represents what Rockoon could have been without any semblance of morality or a HeelFaceTurn.
* EvilCounterpart: [[WordOfSaintPaul Deven Mack]] considers him to be a version of Rockoon without a moral code.
* {{Griefer}}: Odboll is a Troll who loves ruining the game experience for others first and foremost. WordOfGod confirms that Odboll wasn't hired by Tigerlilly until ''after'' the events of Episode 11, his harassing players there was [[ForTheEvulz for the lols]].
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Odboll's power, "Dungin Mastah", allowed him to dump battle grids from ;Mechcity into ;Sanctuary and therefore allow him to harass people there who were not interested in the combat side of the game. However, this fact allowed non-hacking players (Alpha, Gamecrazed, Nylocke and Flamegirl, to be precise) to participate in combat as well in the ;Sanctuary region (which is normally forbidden) and therefore defeat Odboll.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a very unpleasant person who makes no secret of being an asshole.
* LethalJokeCharacter: Odboll is an annoying, unpleasant dick, but he's actually a competent hacker, and the only reason he loses to Flamegirl in Episode 14 is because he ''[[ILetYouWin let her win]].''
* PragmaticAdaptation: Sojojo's dialogue in the original was presented as being poorly-spelled and in all-caps, emphasizing his immaturity. As the original mostly used unvoiced text dialogue, Odboll's poor grammar was downplayed in the reboot due to being fully voiced (with it being mostly presented in the subtitles).

* AGodIAmNot: A {{Downplayed}} example. A lot of people jokingly or proverbially refer to him as the "god" of TOME, but he gets deeply uncomfortable anytime someone does this.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: The character silhouettes from Episode 0 suggest that he's African-American, but it's hard to tell. This extends to his character model.
* BigGood: As it turns out, he's a genuine NiceGuy, regulating TOME and inspiring others through his actions. An even better example of this trope is revealed in Episode 0, however.
* BigEntrance: [[Creator/KyleHebert Fitting.]] Even Nylocke is jealous of his entrance.
* BlackAndNerdy: Although it's tough to tell, his silhouette in Episode 00 makes him appear to be African-American.
* EarlyBirdCameo: In the original he did not appear until almost immediately after the tournament was finished. In the remake he seems to be one of the main people organizing it.
* {{Expy}}: As far as appearance is concerned, Webmaster bears a lot of similarity to [[VideoGame/MegaManLegends Megaman Juno]].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Webmaster's character, and his interest in organizing tournaments for the players of TOME is discussed as early as the second episode ''Midnight Mansion''. The titular mansion also has a painting of his likeness in the background.
* GiantHandsOfDoom: Has floating giant claw hands, which become significantly larger when he attacks.
* GodIsGood: Is portrayed as pretty much a God in TOME (others often refer to him as such) and is a genuinely NiceGuy.
* HolyHalo: Coming out of his back and seen around his head from the front. No doubt it's part of his design to emphasize his [[LightEmUp heavenly light]] abilities, and his god-like status as an admin of TOME.
* LightEmUp: His power is "Heavenly Light"
* NiceGuy: Though he has his moments of seriousness, he comes off as a great individual.
* PhysicalGod: Maybe calling him a "Digital God" would be a better term, given that it's inside a videogame. But he's portrayed as being like a "god" of TOME's virtual world. Descending with heavenly light when he appears.
* PoliceAreUseless: Averted; When smoke starts covering the stadium unexpectedly, immediately undoes it.
-->'''Webmaster''': "''This WON'T do. Not in MY game''"
* FloatingLimbs: His limbs are disconnected from his body.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: He along with the rest of the Netkings give one of these to Rubirules about wanting to use [=SOFDTI=] as a tool and for his actions affecting all of [=TOME=].
* {{Tuckerization}}: His full name is revealed to be John Nestor, a ShoutOut to John Nestoriak, creator of the [=TVTome=] website, on whom the character is (very) loosely based (as in, they're both admins of places online where Kirb and his friends like to hang out).
* WhatTheHellHero: He along with the other Netkings get this from Alpha and Flamegirl due to the Forbidden Power, all of the drama and tragedy caused by it and by not doing anything about it. 935* AdaptationNameChange: His name was "[=Blitz128=]" in the original.
* GlassCannon: His ability to spawn defenses at will along with his heavily varied attack pool means that Bitshrum can deal out pain while defending himself quite handily. The second an enemy gets past all his tricks and traps and closes into attacking range however, he's pretty much screwed.
* GoshDangItToHeck: He noticeably doesn't swear even when he would be expected to, which is contrasted with [[SirSwearsALot Sir Swears-A-Lots]] Kirbopher and Rubirules.
-->'''Bitshrum''': Would living the high life as revolutionaries in the field be pretty sweet? Of course! Does that mean it's the right thing to do? ''Heck'' no!
* MushroomMan: In particular, he seems to have been strongly inspired by ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros''
* StoneWall: Strictly of the turtling variety. His entire playstyle revolves around placing barriers and traps between himself and his opponent. Once they get in close, however, he's more of SquishyWizard.
* TaxonomicTermConfusion: His class is Animalistic, even though mushrooms are not animals. (Fungi are a kingdom distinct from both animals and plants.) She completely flies off the handle at Rubirules when he tries to exact his plan to monopolize her, calling him egotistical and shocking Execk.
* BookEnds: Kindarspirit appears in the first and last episodes of season one; hers is the first voice to be heard at the beginning of the first episode, and she's the last new character to be introduced at the end of the last one.
* CutenessOverload: She {{Squee}}s with hyperactive joy and gives him a bear hug when she meets Kirbopher because he's just so gosh darn cute. 960* GoldAndWhiteAreDivine: Wears a long creamish white, and gold colored gown that invokes symbolism of heaven and goodness.
* HolyHalo: Has a yellow halo floating over her head. Her character's appearance is themed around angels.
* IncomingHam: Kindarspirit is the system voice in the first episode, and in the second short. When she first appears in the show she takes advantage of this voice as an InJoke with Webmaster. She says can't resist using it this way.
--> '''Kindarspirit''': "''Welcome HOME Webmaster to the [[FunWithAcronyms Heavens Of Magical Expertise]]! Kindarspirit, now entering!''"
* InJoke: Her acting like she does when she's the system voice narrator to announce her presence to Webmaster.
* MamaBear: Acts like a parent to SOFDTI more than any of the other Netkings. Kindarspirit is the most visibly angry at Rubirules when he reveals his plans to use her as the key to a technological revolution, and the only times she is seen as truly angry are when SOFDTI has been threatened.

!!!Associated Tropes:

* AdaptationalVillainy: Was just another Netking in the original, but is eventually revealed to be EvilAllAlong in the reboot.
* CompositeCharacter: Combines the original Rubyrulz's charisma, personality, status as graphic designer, and abilities with the original EXE's role and villanous intentions. Several aspects of other TTA villains are incorporated into his character as well, such as Anidoug's desire to use technology to improve the world and Phaxal's status as Alpha's EvilTwin (although in TOME, Rubirules is only a recolor of Alpha for a short while). Rubirules also manages to incorporate elements of [=DarkEyesOfAnubis=] - TTA's true BigBad and Mastermind - into his character, due to the fact that he is (directly) responsible for the Dragon Bug's creation and (indirectly) responsible for Kajet, just like [=DarkEyes=] was.
* EvilAllAlong: Turns out to be behind a scheme to shut down TOME and profit off of SOFDTI, a sentient AI.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Although he's friendly and jovial when things are going his way, the moment he no longer has the upper hand he devolves into childish tantrum throwing. He's also very patronizing when talking to Zetto and Alpha.
* FourIsDeath: As he's Netking Number 4, and the grand mastermind behind the D-Buggers organization.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: He was the first Netking to suggest telling the Government about SOFDTI. He would later use the Forbidden Power as an excuse to end the game and then use her for technological advances.
* TheGadfly: He takes Zetto's form just to mess with Alpha and the others.
* GemTissue: His body is made up of crystal and rock, with the exception of the mirror in his abdomen and his mask. Both are destroyed in the FinalBattle, revealing his [[YellowEyesOfSneakiness bright yellow eyes]] and giving his body a somewhat demonic appearance.
* HateSink: While the rest of the Netkings and (most of) D-Bugger's.org actions are to protect others, his claims of altruism are transparent lies for his own gain and his LackOfEmpathy results in just about all the bad things that happen in the series. Even the Forbidden Power is repulsed by his actions and teams up with Alpha to stop him.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He claims that using SOFDTI would benefit the world, but she knows it's merely secondary to his real goal of being famous.
* KickTheDog: When Alpha gives him the chance to give up and free Flamegirl, Rubirules outright says "Your girlfriend's gone!" just to rub in how much of a {{Jerkass}} he is. Making fun of a traumatic event in Zetto's life certainly wasn't that kind either...
* LukeIAmYourFather: Spoofed when Rubirules reveals that he designed Nylocke's character model and is therefore his "father".
* MalevolentMaskedMan: His visor gives him this impression until it's destroyed. Notably, both him and his apprentice Neomutant wear masks which are destroyed when their true colors are revealed.
* MotiveRant: Gives a long one to the other Netkings after losing to Alpha, criticizing them for seeing SOFDTI, an A.I. as a daughter instead of a way to make them all rich and famous. He finds her limitless potential, possible to make advanced leaps in technology, wasted on a video game, and that the Netkings were all idiots to ignore him.
* MythologyGag: When Rubi eventually goes OneWingedAngel on Alpha during the final battle, he turns into a recolor of Alpha's Season 2 design, bringing [[EvilTwin Phaxal]] to mind. Also, the symbol he uses for the D-buggers chat resembles EXE's third eye from the original TTA, and by extention, Execk's - which fooled fans of TTA into thinking TOME followed the same villain plotline.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He espouses the desire to use SOFDTI to advance A.I. technology to improve human life in general... but really he just wants money and fame and his claims of wanting to improve the world are only his attempt to fool himself and others into thinking he's the good guy.
* OneWingedAngel: Absorbs the anti-virus during his fight with Alpha to become a giant monstrous version of himself.
* OutsideContextProblem: Rubirules's intentions surrounding SOFDTI have little to do with the main conflict in the show, but his ''actions'' directly effect all of the main characters and lead to his downfall in the end.
* TheManBehindTheMan : Is the true master behind Debuggers.org, using everyone involved so he could obtain both the The Virus and SOFDTI and control them with the Dragon Bug.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Initially. Rubirules created Kajet's True Shadowguard Beast body as an In-Game Boss without realizing a dangerous virus would eventually use it to wreck havoc in TOME. However, Rubirules ends up ultimately becoming the show's BigBad after formulating his plan to monopolize SOFDTI, meaning that he was only this trope in one instance of "doom" and was a completely witting instigator of doom in an entirely separate plotline.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: When Zetto and Alpha point out that Flamegirl might be comatose or braindead because of his plan, he basically says the end results will justify his actions in the end.
-->'''Rubirules:''' Really? ''That's'' your straw grasping argument?\
''(Later, during the final battle with Alpha)''\
'''Rubirules:''' Even if what you're saying true, and she is trapped in the antivirus, I don't care! I'm changing the world, '''''goddammit'''''!.
* WalkingSpoiler: The fact that he's TheManBehindTheMan and the majority of his character is revealed ''after'' TheReveal makes it difficult to discuss him without spoilers.
* WeCanRuleTogether: After sharing his EvilPlan with Alpha and the other Netkings, he asks if any of them want in on his plan to monopolize SOFDTI.
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: Uses it to mock Nylocke while in his form during their fight.
* YellowEyesOfSneakiness: When his mask is destroyed, it's revealed he's got these in full.

* AdaptationalHeroism: As the result of his villainous characteristics being transferred to Rubirules.
* AdaptationNameChange: His name in the original was "EXE".
* BadassInANiceSuit: The fact bubble special for episode 11 reveals that out of the Netkings, he's likely the most skilled in combat due to his role as a Netking but even when holding back alot he gives Alpha a really tough battle. And his character model is in a very nice suit, so it writes itself.
* CoolOldGuy: As it turns out, Execk is a really nice guy.
* DecompositeCharacter: He has the original EXE's age, appearance, and abilities, but all his villainous traits have been transferred to Rubirules.
* DuelBoss: Execk fights Alpha straight-up in a traditional [=PvP=] match rather than relying on boss fight gimmicks like the other Netkings.
* ElementalPowers: His shapeshifting arm can create several weapons with elemental properties: [[AnIcePerson An air conditioner]], [[PlayingWithFire a flamethrower]], and [[ShockAndAwe what looks like a taser]].
* EvilOldFolks: Subverted. Execk turns out to actually be a really nice guy.
* GrumpyOldMan: Subverted. Although he's visibly uncomfortable whenever somebody brings up the Forbidden Power, he's actually a really nice guy. Then again, he is [[BewareTheNiceOnes understandably PISSED]] when [[GreaterScopeVillain Rubirules]] turns his back on the other Netkings for fame, power, and profit.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Alpha kicks his hammer back into his face for the finishing blow.
* HonestCorporateExecutive: It's his aesthetic, anyway, although his brief talking points in Episode 0 suggest that he handles the more business-oriented side of TOME.
* RedHerring: Execk behaves very suspiciously all throughout TOME's second season, suggesting something was up with him. When Episode 14 came out and it was revealed that [[TheManBehindTheMan someone was even higher up in D-Buggers.org than Kizuna]], it seemed almost confirmed that Execk was evil, especially considering that EXE had villanous intentions in the original. Even the symbol that was used to represent D-Buggers' leader resembled Execk's third eye, but the mastermind ultimately turned out to none other than Rubirules - a CompositeCharacter of most of the villains from TTA.
* ThirdEye: Built into his helmet.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His trying to explain violence and combat to [=SOFDTI=] was partially responsible for the Forbidden Power's birth, since she couldn't understand it due to her inexperience. According to the fact bubble special for Episode 00, though, he had no way of knowing this would happen.
* WarmupBoss: As he points out after his defeat, he was playing the part of the weakest challenge in the quest. However, it's highly likely he's holding back to give Alpha a decent challenge.
* WillfullyWeak: Implied when Execk tells Alpha he's merely ''acting'' as the easiest of the Netkings, and confirmed in the fact bubble special (at full strength, he's actually probably the ''strongest'' Netking, as he designed the combat system of the game himself). This would have been seen had Niosi's original plan to have the Netkings fought in reverse order come to fruition - ''Webmaster'' would have been the first Netking challenged, and Execk the last.

* AdaptationNameChange: Anneva's name in the original was "Tamerlisa".It was changed in the reboot to be more similar to Foreva's name, to emphasize them being a duo hosting the tournament.
* TheAnnouncer: Anneva who stays up in the safety of the announcer's box and announces which teams are paired against each other during the tournament, and then announcing the conclusion of each battle for the audience. Foreva in contrast gets up close to the battles themselves acting more as a [[CombatReferee referee]].
* CombatReferee: Foreva who gets up close to stadium itself following the fighters from the edge of the ring as they face off, and probably doubling as extra eyes to watch for cheating. This is in contrast to Anneva who stays up in the announcer's box farther away from the action.
* CurbStompBattle: Foreva suffers one of these to Saturndiva who finds her irritating.
* TheDividual: For the most part they play off of each other as a pair. They're introduced together. They fall under The Syndividual variation, having different looks and contrasting character traits, but still acting together as a unit, adding commentary to the events of the tournament.
* EsotericMotifs: Their character's outfits and overall appearance are modeled after the Yin Yang Symbol of balance. It being an important theme for the tournament. Also fits with them being a duo themselves with contrasting personalities.
* GenkiGirl: Foreva who is very optimistic, playful, and excited. Inverted with Anneva who in contrast is more subdued and sophisticated.
* LargeHamAnnouncer: Moreso with Foreva with her constant {{Shout Out}}s to video game culture, although Anneva has her moments as well.

* PopCulturedBadass: They make a great many shout-outs to videogame culture and [[HurricaneOfPuns puns]] to go along with them. One shout in particular is a botched line where Foreva says "Hell or Heaven lets rock!" (the original line is "Heaven or Hell") in reference to ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear''.
** And another:

* RemakeCameo: Kira Buckland, the voice of Foreva, lent her voice in the original TTA. She also appeared in Brawl Taunts (which she wrote, and Chris Niosi animated).
* RoseHairedSweetie: Foreva has pink hair, and is a very cheerful and excited to do her job, even as some players get very irritated, at her style of announcing.
* YouthfulFreckles: Foreva has them. She also seems to be younger than Anneva, and is much more energetic.

* DecompositeCharacter: Armoora's design and moderator role is mostly based on Ichinar, the admin for Mecha City in the original. However, Armoora's character model isn't unique to her and used by multiple moderators.
* FacelessGoons: Episode 11 reveals that the "Armoora" model is a template used by multiple moderators.
* GenderFlip: Subverted. When she was first introduced, it seemed that Armoora was a gender-swapped version of Ichinar. However, Episode 11 revealed that her character model is shared by multiple moderators.
* PoliceAreUseless: After five hacker attacks and two public virus incidents seen (and six more apparently happening prior to Episode 01), one of these is the first trace of actual support staff we have yet to see...and she is more concerned with scammers and tournament organizing. 1144!!!Associated Tropes:
* AdaptationalHeroism: In the original, Zetto was obsessed with finding the Forbidden Power to [[EvilIsPetty become the strongest player in the entire virtual world]], before pulling a HeelFaceTurn at the end of Season 2. In [=TOME=], he's obsessed with finding the Forbidden Power to prevent it from hurting anyone, especially his friends, and is a HeroAntagonist.
* AgeLift: His ImprobableAge from the original has been removed, meaning that he is no longer a TeenGenius and is instead an adult working for Netking Software. Rubirules still calls him "kid," however, so he can't be older than twenty-something.
* AmbidextrousSprite: The mechanical arm on Zetto's "character sprite" faces the viewer no matter which way he's facing.
* ArchEnemy: Is treated as this by the main characters, especially Alpha.
* ArmCannon: His mechanical arm fires lasers and ki attacks.
* ArtificialLimbs: Well one limb. His mechanical arm, which can change shape for various different attacks.
** The arm Zetto crafted was made specifically to fight against the virus, or at the very least defend against it.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Attached to his non-mechanical arm
* BloodKnight: Really enjoys a good fight. Episode 09 in particular demonstrates this a lot. He takes winning and [=PvP=] fighting so seriously that he can't have fun if someone doesn't treat it as SeriousBusiness like he does.
** He's become significantly mor subdued after the events of Episode 10.
* BrainsAndBrawn: Kizuna is the brains, and Zetto is the brawn. Kizuna with her cold and professional attitude acts as a kind of {{foil}} to Zetto's smarminess, overconfidence and BloodKnight tendencies, keeping him in line.
* CoolDown: He needs to gather energy to use his "Breaker Beam" attack and it requires more recharge time to be used twice. By the second time he charges it people can figure out what's up, and counter it.
* CurbStompBattle: Inflicts one on two players who are talking, then he inflicts one on Alpha when he's suffering a DemonicPossession.
* CreepyMonotone: The way he talks and his voice sounds is very breathy and smug, which is especially creepy during the more action packed scenes of ''Awaken The Beast''. The episode ''Gemini Tournament Yin'' shows that in casual conversation this occasionally ends up, being donwplayed, and turns into SpockSpeak.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Zetto's and The Forbidden Power's dialogue in episode 05 and 10, and his TroubledBackstoryFlashback to an earlier version of his character suggest that Zetto has a prior history with the Forbidden Power. It turns out that when Zetto and Kizuna helped with the development process, [=SOFDTI=]'s inability to process negative human emotions created the Forbidden Power which possessed the Shadow Guard Beast while it was in beta. Due to it's ability to hurt people in real life, when the Shadow Guard Beast severed Zetto's character's arm during the testing process, the player controlling Zetto was in pure agony and was being taunted by the Virus. Experiencing that brief glimpse of the Forbidden Power's evil capabilities gave him and Kizuna incentive to set out to try and find a way to erase the Forbidden Power.
* DemonicPossession: Possessed by the Forbidden Power in episode 10, but is ultimately saved by the combined efforts of Alpha, Flamegirl and Nylocke.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: We're made to believe Alpha is completely invulnerable when under the effects of the virus, and yet Zetto floors him like he's nothing. It's later revealed in ''Plan Z'' that he was using an early version of the Antivirus enabling him to counter the virus' two most dangerous abilities, its [[BarrierWarrior impenetrable shield]] and morphing said shield into a vector for the virus to cause pain.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Shows unrivaled skill during his first appearance in episode 5 by [[KickTheDog destroying two random players]] and mocking how they weren't strong enough to be worth his time.
** Episode 5's fact bubble special tells us this is a big front Zetto's player put up to hide the fact that he is extremely scared of the virus coming back in full force.
* {{Expy}}: Though not nearly as overt as his original counterpart, he remains one of Vegeta. He has spiky hair that sticks outwards, a widow's peak, the ability to shoot ki blasts, and serves as a smug rival to the kindhearted main character. His outfit in Season 1 takes cues from Vegeta's armor in the Saiyan saga, with similar shoulder guard and boots, where his outfit in Season 2 goes for a guard-less shoulder strap look, not unlike Vegeta's appearance in the Cell saga.
* FangsAreEvil: While Zetto's not technically an evil character he has sharp, jagged teeth that allude to his role as an antagonist, and make him look scary.
* FantasticFragility: The recharge time needed to use his beam attack, and give it it's potent power also leaves him open for other finishing moves to decimate him.
* FatalFlaw: Pride. Zetto is very proud and due to his pride being exploited, he has a VillainousBreakdown in the Gemini Tournament because Alpha won't give him the match he wants and Nylocke's antics.
* FinishingMove: Zetto's "Breaker Beam" attack is used this way. And episode 09 shows it can backfire on him in a big way if it doesn't work. Since he uses a ton of energy to use it and it's a skill that [[CoolDown requires recharging to be used]].
* GoodWeaponEvilWeapon: Zetto utilizes guns, and anytime he wounds someone with bullets, it's depicted as excruciatingly painful. Compare to Alpha, who uses his fists mostly.
* GuestFighter: Appears in ''VideoGame/CombatCore'' alongside Kizuna as a playable character.
* HeroAntagonist: Zetto is generally in opposition to Alpha and friends, but his motives and intentions are good. His goal is to seal away the Forbidden Power and stop it from causing any more trouble and in the Season Finale, tries to explain this to Alpha and does what he can to help Alpha with it. His [[http://kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/71652203707/username-zetto-location-unknown-us-class character breakdown]] reveals that his role as an antagonist was unintentional on his part. He was forced into it after his friends got wrapped up in fighting against all the hacker drama.
* HeroicWillpower: Even when possessed by the Forbidden Power, Zetto manages to remove the rest of the Forbidden Power from Alpha's character.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Nylocke absorbs all of Zetto's Ki energy from his attacks into the Drain Edge and is put into a position where he can finish Zetto off with one last finishing move using Zetto's own ki energy. This is ultimately subverted though when Nylocke throws the match and lets Zetto win the Gemini Tournament.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: He and Kizuna trusted Rubirules, [[ManipulativeBastard Neomutant]] and ''[[{{Jerkass}} Odboll]]'' with their plan to destroy the virus.
* InfiniteSupplies: Of Ammunition, which he never seems to run out of. This is likely because his ability to generate unlimited Ki energy probably also allows him to fire bullets "infinitely".
* InstantKnots: His mechanical arm can shoot chains, and they seem to have a life of their own. They can instantly wrap themselves around anything in their general direction.
* InternalReveal: Alpha finally discovers his [[TwoAliasesOneCharacter secret]] in the GrandFinale and [[EtTuBrute is extremely upset]], especially since this takes place during Neomutant's plan to murder Flamegirl. By ''[=AvZ=]'', however, Alpha seems to have forgiven him.
* LivingADoubleLife: Since Kirbopher and Zetto are two characters used by the same player he has to balance interacting with two different groups of characters, and has to act differently for both characters to avoid suspicion of this double life.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: It's less obvious with Zetto then it is with Kirbopher, but despite his smug arrogance and condescenion during the Gemini Tournament, he's out to stop the Forbidden Power to protect the players of [=TOME=] and does things he has no reason to do like return Asterob's shield.
* KameHameHadoken One of his attacks is a charged giant laser beam, and his ability is ki attacks.
* KnightOfCerebus: Along with Tigerlily, after he appears, the series takes a darker turn.
* LaserBlade: attached to his non mechanical arm.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Zetto's is "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/survive-the-drama Survive the Drama]]" and there's also a DarkReprise titled "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/survive-the-virus-by-thelivingtombstone Survive THE VIRUS]]" used when Zetto is possessed by The Forbidden Power.
* MasterOfAll: Zetto was designed to be incredibly balanced in everyway and his abilities reflect this. Thanks to him being one of the most skilled players in all of [=TOME=] (due to his history as the game's combat beta tester), he has the skill to use his entire arsenal to his advantage. The only time he technically loses in a non Forbidden Power related fight is when he uses Breaker Beam on a Drain Edge equipped Nylocke.
* TheManBehindTheMan: It was always Zetto's plan to contain the Forbidden Power and erase it so that it wouldn't hurt people. He gets BigBad Kizuna/Tigerlilly to help him do this because they're friends and she has the resources to hire contractors (The Hackers), and freelance programmers so that the plan can work. However, he is still not the highest-up in the organization as it gets.
* MeaningfulEcho: He will commonly repeat or paraphrase a line that he already said as Kirbopher - this includes his very first line ("Well, it's about time"), his insistence to "Quit screwing around and show me the real deal!", and his very last ("Well, maybe this is as good as it's gonna get").
* {{Munchkin}}: Episode 09 shows him to be this. He takes winning at the game [[SeriousBusiness very seriously]], to the point that when Nylocke and Gamecrazed throw their fight it robbed him of enjoying his victory in the Gemini Tournament. The reason he feels that way is that it's made clear Nylocke was about to win, and could have finished Zetto and Kizuna fairly easily, but let Zetto win to make a point that winning and being the strongest isn't everything.
* NoConservationOfEnergy: Zetto has an ability called "Ki Generator", which gives him access to unlimited Ki-energy that he can charge and release as explosive attacks. The only time so far that this has been countered is by Nylocke's absorbing of his Ki energy with the Drain Edge in the Gemini Tournament, which weakened him.
* PetTheDog: Though he is usually depicted as obsessed with power and arrogant, he takes the time to return Asterob's stolen shield, who would have otherwise been left defenseless.
* PowersAsPrograms: He has an earlier version of the antivirus program that Flamegirl has, which lets him block virus attacks from Demon Alpha. Plus the "absorption code" used to remove the Forbidden Power from Alpha's character.
* PowerPalms: He shoots lasers and ki attacks from his mechanical palm. The power palms are seen when he's charging his laser.
* PyrrhicVictory: Nylocke lets Zetto win the gemini tournament's final match to teach him that winning isn't everything. This was after he pretty much absorbed all of Zetto's Ki energy, and was in a position to [[HoistByHisOwnPetard finish him off with his own Ki]], making Zetto's win feel undeserved.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives a pretty vicious one when Nylocke pushes him over the edge.
--> "You stop this Bull[[PrecisionFStrike S***]] RIGHT NOW! I've had it up to HERE with your socially awkward antics! In case you weren't aware, we're ''not'' living in "Ye Old England" you overbearing twit! And your ridiculous coping mechanism for interacting with others isn't cute. It's insanity! It's annoying! YOU'RE ANNOYING! Now SHUT UP, get over here and fight me, before I make you wish you never got NEAR THIS GODFORSAKEN GAME!"
** This speech doesn't make a whole lot of sense at face value - even if Nylocke's reputation precedes him, it's odd that Zetto (someone he's never interacted with before) would claim to be fed up with his antics. In retrospect, this is one of the biggest clues that Kirb and Zetto are one and the same - Kirb consistently expressed annoyance and frustration at Nylocke's role-playing, especially in "Dragon Drama".
* RedEyesTakeWarning: He bares intimidating red eyes. :Further highlighted when the Forbidden Power possesses him.
* ResistTheBeast: For the most part the Forbidden Power maintains complete control until he breaks the possession momentarily to ask Alpha to MercyKill him, and resists enough to absorb the rest of the Virus from Alpha's character from 93% to 100% later.
* SlasherSmile: Sports one most of the time, usually in combat.
* SlapSlapKiss: With Kizuna. Implied by SOFDI when he and Kizuna are testing the new battle system and bug checking.
* SmugSuper: In ''Artificial Interference'', he proclaims to Kizuna that "[she's] the smart one in the room, and [he's] [[WorldsStrongestMan the strongest being in TOME]]". Considering how he was the game's combat tester and is preparing himself to fight something that [[OutsideContextProblem actively ignores the game's rules]], his condescension is atleast ''somewhat'' [[JustifiedTrope justified]].
* SpikyHair: His hair is so spiky, and messy it almost looks like it's solid. It seriously looks like his hair could cut you.
* SpockSpeak: His conversation with Kizuna in ''Gemini Tournament Yin'' where his good grammar portrays him as intelligent. He prefers to use more technical terms like saying "truly" instead of relying on "really". The sarcasm he uses is also very dry, and subdued.
* SwissArmyAppendage: Zetto's [[ArtificialLimbs mechanical arm]] works this way. In addition to firing ki attacks, it can shift its form into a cannon, a chain link gun, and a machine gun.
* TheReveal: On the final remastered episode of the TOME compilation series "TOME: [=A2Z=]", Zetto's real name was revealed to be Zeke in a phone-call from Kizuna.
* TroubledBackstoryFlashback There is a FlashBack to an earlier version of Zetto's character facing The Forbidden Power, this one with ''two'' arms, which suggests that they have met and fought during a similar event in Zetto's past.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: It's revealed in Episode 10 that Zetto and Kirbopher are the same player using two different characters. Both his and Kirbopher's eyes turn gray in the episode, and it's stated that it's because he's "disconnecting" from one character and reconnecting to the other character without logging out of TOME. The only time we had seen them interact prior to TheReveal was a match in the Gemini Tournament, and the fact that Kirbopher didn't fight back or talk to Zetto was a hint that they were being controlled by the same person.
* VariableLengthChain: The chains he shoots from his mechanical arm don't seem to have any limit in length. Also see InstantKnots above.
* VillainousBreakdown: Has one thanks to Nylocke not taking their fight seriously.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: It is later revealed Zetto, along with Kizuna, enlisted the Hackers in order to seek out, test and ultimately eliminate the Forbidden Power, knowing how dangerous it is.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Well, anti-villainy in this case. In the original, she was solely a protagonist, and at the very least disapproved of Zetto's involvement with the Hackers. Here, she's the hacker leader (although not the [[TheManBehindTheMan creator of the organization]]), is much more cold and calculating, and is just as much a part of the hackers as Zetto is. However, everything she does is out of a somewhat misguided attempt to protect Zetto, and she's unaware of Rubirules's true intentions.
* AdaptationNameChange: A rather drastic one, from "Ruri" in TTA.
* {{Animorphism}}: As it turns out, she was the Mysterious Red Cat that's been appearing in the past episodes.
* BrainsAndBrawn: Kizuna is the brains, and Zetto is the brawn. Kizuna with her cold and professional attitude acts as a kind of {{foil}} to Zetto's smarminess, overconfidence and BloodKnight tendencies, keeping him in line.
* CreepyMonotone: Speaks in a breathy monotone very similar to Zetto. Except unlike him she doesn't seem to stress words or syllables at all, when she's talking. She's also more precise when she speaks, and she seems to prefer her responses to be a short three words or less.
* CuteKitten: In the form of the Mysterious Red Cat. If you just look at it you know it's adorable. Part of the reason it was used as a scenery joke, as it's very out of place from the rest of the show's characters.
* FreezeFrameBonus: You'll miss her first appearance, in her Mysterious Red Cat form, if you're not looking at the foreground in "Highest Form of Flattery" while Flamey and her friends are talking.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: First appears as a scenery joke in "Highest Form Of Flattery". But then it's upgraded to a MeaningfulBackgroundEvent in "Awaken The Beast".
* GuestFighter: Appears in ''VideoGame/CombatCore'' alongside Zetto as a playable character.
* LittleBitBeastly: Has long animal-like ears seemingly modeled after a cat or some other animal, but the rest of her design is more human looking.
* GirlsWithGuns : Mainly attacks with her handgun. Her power is "sharpshooting".
* GoodWeaponEvilWeapon: In a game that allows players to use energy attacks, swords or even their fists, Kizuna specializes in gun use, which lends to her more questionable alignment. She originally used a staff as her weapon during Episode 0, but changed over to handguns after the Virus came into existence.
* {{Handguns}}: The weapon she uses.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: She and Zetto trusted [[ItsAllAboutMe Rubirules]] and [[ManipulativeBastard Neomutant]] with their plan to destroy the virus, which nearly led to Flamegirl's death.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: The Facebook page states that she's a professional gunwoman who never misses.
* InfiniteSupplies: Normally a handgun would need to be reloaded after a few rounds, but she has a technique called "Golden Bullet" that grants her unlimited ammunition. It's inside a video game so it makes sense.
* MysteriousWatcher: In her Mysterious Red Cat form, this is her primary activity, always watching the main characters.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Kajet's creation, Zetto getting hurt by it's power, and ''everything that happens to the main cast over the course of the series''. All because she snapped at [=SOFDTI=] over an innocent question and exposed her to negativity.
* NotSoStoic: From Episode 14 onwards, but mostly when Zetto shoots her in the back to stop her killing [=SOFDTI=]. She's completely horrified.
* PowerArmor: Has a technique called "Beast Armor" which is how she can transform into Tigerlilly. This technique forms a "metallic shell" around her character, and while doing so she trades her naturally good speed for offensive and defensive power, plus it gives her access to more attacks. She's hacked her Beast Armor ability so that it lasts for as long as she needs it to instead of wearing off over time, allowing her to use it as a disguise.
* TheReveal: On the final remastered episode of the TOME compilation series "TOME: [=A2Z=]", Kizuna's real name was revealed to be Lily, which the IRL Zetto referred to Kizuna as such when she called him.
* SignificantWardrobeShift: In Episode 0, she wore something similar to a mage's robe and wielded a staff, showing how she was a more upbeat and kinder individual when she worked as a bug tester for Netking software. After encountering the virus, she ditches her old outfit and weapon in favor of some more pragmatic combat attire in Season 1 and 2. In ''[=A2Z=]'', Kizuna's attire changes again to something in-between her older mage-like outfit and her combat-ready greaves, showing her own character change and how she's become kinder after making up with Zeke/Zetto.
* SlapSlapKiss: With Zetto. Implied by [=SOFDTI=] when she and Zetto are testing the new battle system and bug checking. Outright confirmed by Kizuna as she's about to try and shoot [=SOFDTI=] to prevent another Forbidden Power from being born. In "TOME: [=A2Z=]", they appear to have reconciled or at least be on better terms with each other after the events of the story.
* TheStoic: Speaks in a very airy, and quiet tone, and appears non-emotional, or otherwise unimpressed with what's going on at the tournament. She's been playing TOME since launch, so perhaps she's just disillusioned after playing so long.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her snapping at [=SOFDTI=] over her question about her and Zetto's relationship caused her to experience negativity for the first time, and that built up negativity wound up becoming Kajet and kicking off the entire plot of the series.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Simdragon, Serpentine's counterpart from the original, was a straightforward villainous hacker that was actively meddling with lethal computer viruses. In TOME, he isn't involved with D-Buggers, he's just roleplaying a villain to Nylocke and only has a vendetta against him for rather trivial reasons.
* AdaptationDistillation: His character was simplified in the reboot. In the original he had a much bigger role as TheDragon for the D-Bug Organization. But he was also very forgettable in the original and didn't have a lot of backstory so it was deemed unnecessary in TOME. He was changed to a villainous roleplayer to play off of Nylocke instead.
* AdaptationNameChange: His name was "Simdragon" in the original, it was changed to Serpentine in the reboot.
* AgeLift: Implied. [[VagueAge It's not specifically stated how old he is]], but given his status as a roleplayer, it's suggested he's in the same age group as Nylocke. His [=TvTome Adventures=] counterpart, Simdragon, was stated to be 40.
* ArchEnemy: Fancies himself this to Nylocke, who gleefully plays along. The circumstances are a lot more serious than Nylocke first expected, however.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: The short "The Legend of Nylocke" reveals that he was once a [[WideEyedIdealist Wide Eyed Roleplayer]] who idolized Nylocke, but was turned down by him because he wasn't good at YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe narrative. He even tried making an evil counterpart character based on Nylocke to fight him but the system didn't allow it. Part of the reason he sought out [=DemonKing=] was to get hacking skills to bypass the system and be a {{Griefer}} in Nylocke's name.
* LargeHam: Intentionally as he's acting out an evil counterpart to Nylocke. Though it contrasts Nylocke in that he still has an indoor voice most of the time, and he sounds more slimy and smug.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Yes, Serpentine ''does'' sound a lot like Creator/TimCurry, doesn't he?
* PunchClockVillain: Mistakenly Acknowledged by Nylocke:
--> '''Nylocke:''' "You play your role well, Serpentine... but your role is that of the enemy!"
* TheRolePlayer: Naturally being an evil roleplayer counterpart to Nylocke.
* SatelliteCharacter: Has only appeared in the two Nylocke-centric shorts. Justified since he's a fellow roleplayer and has a vendetta against Nylocke and wouldn't care about the other protagonists.
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: Emphasizes he's roleplaying a character. He also lives in the UsefulNotes/UnitedKingdom, which probably has some influence.
* WhatTheHellHero: His speech in "The Legend of Nylocke" has shades of this.

* {{Fanboy}}: Of Rockoon.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Played with. He's still got Tormentros's creepy personality and obsession with the Forbidden Power, but at most, Thorment is just a really nosy player. In TTA, Tormentros not only worked with two hacker organizations (and was getting paid for it), his creepy personality came after having his character mutated by a virus fragment and turned into a murderous lunatic as well.
* AdaptationDistillation: This character was simplified in the reboot. Thorment's not a hacker like in the original, but he maintains his personality, and his creepy obsession with the Forbidden Power.
* AdaptationNameChange: Changed from "Tormentros" (and later, "Kalasu Angel") in TTA to "Thorment" in TOME.

* AchillesHeel: The Antivirus fire created by SOFDTI and the imitation Antivirus used by Flamegirl are both able to harm it, and appear to be the only exception to the Forbidden Power's otherwise CompleteImmortality.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Somewhat. In the original, the Forbidden Power was programmed by a third party to protect the game, but malfunctioned and became a virus. It was still evil and still had the ability to hurt people in real life, but was not MadeOfEvil like it is in the reboot.
** In both the original and the reboot, the Forbidden Power was willing to merge with Alpha to defeat the D-Bug/Dragon Bug at the end of each series' respective second season.
* AdaptationNameChange: The Forbidden Power's name in the original was "Kagemamoru".
* AIIsACrapshoot: Subverted. The Forbidden Power is an evil A.I., however, it came into being completely by accident.
* AllegoricalCharacter: In episode 00 we learn that the Forbidden Power literally IS created from negative human thoughts and urges. Particularly fear, doubt, and anger. And is sealed away by a being representing optimism, that is literally made up of caring thoughts, only for The Forbidden Power to resurface later by exploiting human weaknesses. Very much representing how negative memories linger, and resurface in real life, but can be pacified with positive spins and outlooks on life.
* AxeCrazy: In addition to making the people it infects incredibly violent, the Forbidden Power itself is this, as it's actually programmed to kill people. Through this programming, it's also incredibly sadistic, as shown when it wanted to kill Zetto in the most horrible way possible.
* BigBad: The Forbidden Power is the source of all evil and the main conflict in the show. It is evil to the point where even the leader of the hackers is concerned about this monster. However, once it is reduced to raw code in the GrandFinale, it opts to [[AwakeningTheSleepingGiant team up with Alpha]] to defeat an even WORSE source of evil.
* BossSubtitles: When unleashed in its full monstrous form:
** '''KAJET: THE TRUE SHADOWGUARD BEAST'''
* ClassifiedInformation: In exchange for allowing SOFDTI to survive the government made her (and by extension the Forbidden Power too) a government secret that the Netkings are by law bound from being able to talk about.
* CompleteImmortality: The Forbidden Power can't be destroyed. It can only be sealed away in the ethers of TOME's walls or attached to an unsuspecting player's character. The Antivirus is capable of destroying it, but that's because it's ''also'' a destructive computer program thanks to [[ManipulativeBastard Neomutant]] (though based off of SOFDTI's benevolent antivirus fire). The two programs cancel each other out in the series finale.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: Since it is literally the EvilCounterpart of the TOME game engine, it can ignore TOME's normal game mechanics. In Episode 4, Alpha uses its power to break into a hacked battlegrid that is supposed to be impassible.
* TheCorruption: The more Alpha uses the Forbidden Power, the more powerful it becomes, and the more control it gains over his mind.
* DealWithTheDevil: With Alpha in the first episode.
* EnemyMine : Held hostage by Rubirules, Alpha convinces the Forbidden Power to team up with it out of a desire to not die weak.
* EvilCounterpart: To SOFDTI, who is positive thoughts. She unwittingly created the virus when she couldn't correctly process the Netkings' negative emotions.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Manipulates Alpha in the first episode into thinking he can use the powers given to him by freeing it as a tool to impress his friends. Needless to say this was a [[BlatantLies blatant lie]]; it actually uses ''Alpha'' as a puppet so it can be free to harm people.
* GoodHurtsEvil: When SOFDTI, who is basically MadeOfGood, finally stands up to it, she is able to seal it away, as SOFDTI's positive emotions ended up being its weakness.
* HairTriggerTemper: It's very easy to anger. Even just talking about it's nature to Alpha is enough to set it off in some situations.
** It also CantTakeCriticism as Alpha's conversation with Zetto in episode 10 shows
* HeartBeatSoundtrack: When the the Forbidden Power is "pulsating", it makes a sound similar to a heartbeat.
* IJustWantToBeFree: Claims this to be it's motivation for attaching itself to Alpha's character. It only wanted to use Alpha so it could harm people, although it can't be too happy about how it was sealed away and prevented from doing that either.
* InsaneEqualsViolent: It's insane and violent personality is used to play the Forbidden Power as horrifying. The Forbidden Power has been insane since the first moment we were introduced to it in the show, and it's incredibly violent and sadistic because of that.
* InstantAIJustAddWater: Like SOFDTI, it was created completely by accident.
* IntelligibleUnintelligible: The Forbidden Power is shown "talking" by some strange noise starting in episode 01, almost like breathing. Alpha can understand it however.
* MadeOfEvil: The Forbidden Power was created when SOFDTI wasn't able to correctly process negative human emotions. He's literally made of the evils and vices of humanity in the form of data.
* MechanicalAbomination: It's a computer virus, but it has powers that transcend other run-of-the-mill viruses. It has a complete disregard for rules in the game, showing an ability to break them to [[RealityWarper manipulate virtual reality]], and harm players in real life. It has a complete LackOfEmpathy towards players of the game and an unsettling, bizarre form resembling television static with yellow sparks, and it's rationale for doing the things it does is stated to be beyond what anyone can understand.
* TheMostDangerousVideoGame: It has the power to invoke this on anyone who interacts with it. Damage dealt becomes real pain, in-game possession becomes a degree of ''actual'' possession, and it's implied that this kind of program could render someone brain-dead.
* {{Leitmotif}}: The Forbidden Power's is called [[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/the-virus "THE VIRUS"]]
* PowersAsPrograms: Literally, as its title implies! It's a literal computer virus and literal power inside the game. It's able harm people in real life and grant players the power to do the same.
* {{Sadist}}: Clearly enjoys Alpha's suffering and the suffering it causes to other people, wants to manipulate Alpha, taunts him, lies to him, and dominates his mind, is very violent, and AxeCrazy toward anything human, except the in game character it currently resides in. In episode 10 it states that it wants to make Zetto in particular suffer as much as possible.
* SealedEvilInACan: It was locked away before Alpha freed it and was reduced to this again when it's sealed inside the drain edge in episode 10.
* ShoutOut: Its name is in reference to Kajetokun, the composer for the series.
* SpikesOfDoom: As with its TTA counterpart, it unleashes black spikes all over TOME when it emerges into its full monstrous form.
* {{Telepathy}}: Communicates with Alpha mentally for all of the first season. Episode 00 also shows the Forbidden Power taunting Zetto mentally without possessing him. This means that at least in some circumstances, the Forbidden Power can talk telepathically with a player without being attached to that player's character.
* TronLines: Covered with electronic-looking yellow veins in both its contained and monster forms.
* YourMindMakesItReal: Like SOFDTI, the Forbidden Power works by translating between human thought and computer code. In a reversal of the program's intended function--letting players affect their characters with thought--the Forbidden Power takes the code of what happens in the game and forces it into players' minds, translating in-game damage into physical pain or worse.

* AchillesHeel: Strangely, it seems that so much as ''touching'' Flamegirl will weaken him while in this state. It is revealed during Short 7 that Ravenfreak implanted an antivirus program into Flamegirl's character during Episode 3, which was created to be the Forbidden Power's weakness. Zetto was able to defeat Demon Alpha using an earlier version of the same program during Awaken The Beast.
* AttackAttackAttack: A side effect of his UnstoppableRage.
* BattleAura: The static and yellow lines that make up the Forbidden Power show around Alpha whenever he draws on its power.
* TheCorruption: The more Alpha uses the Forbidden Power the more it tries to take control of him. Eventually turning him into Demon Alpha.
* CreepyLongFingers: One of the transformation changes of Alpha's demon form. While played as creepy they're also used for a slashing attack.
* CurbStompBattle: Demon Alpha inflicts one on several players when he goes on a rampage in Awaken the Beast. Zetto inflicts one on him during a killing spree in the same episode.
* DealWithTheDevil: The Forbidden Power with Alpha in the first episode.
* DeathByIrony: Demon Alpha is eventually defeated the same way Alpha is defeated in the first episode, before he made his deal with the devil. By a giant laser beam.
* DemonicPossession: Possessed by a computer virus.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Normally, Alpha's wings are white, but during his DemonicPossession Alpha's color scheme gets darker, and his wings and tail turn black.
* HearingVoices: Alpha hears the Forbidden Power's voice while under it's influence.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Has two. There's [[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/the-virus "THE VIRUS"]] when the Forbidden Power is just starting to affect Alpha and the much wilder "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/awaken-the-beast Awaken the Beast]]" used when the Forbidden Power gets out of control and possesses Alpha outright.
* MentalFusion: [[http://kirbopher.tumblr.com/post/71429595697/username-demon-alpha-location-unknown-us-class Demon Alpha's character breakdown]] suggests that Alpha and The Forbidden Power's minds are fused into one consciousness while in this form. Turning this character into a mindless blood-lusting killer.
* NoSell: The influence of the "Forbidden Power" makes him invulnerable to most attacks.
* NotSoInvincibleAfterall: Zetto and Flamegirl can get through to him, due to the antivirus programs hidden in their characters.
* OhCrap: Demon Alpha's reaction when Zetto deflects his virus attack
* PowersAsPrograms: Demon Alpha is Alpha possessed by a computer virus, and one of Demon Alpha's attacks uses the computer virus itself to cause damage.
* PowerFloats: He can float in the air because of the virus power.
* PowersViaPossession: His powers come from being possessed by a computer virus.
* PsychoactivePowers: When Alpha's emotionally, overwhelmed, and vulnerable, he becomes Demon Alpha, and the "Forbidden Power" takes complete control of his human mind and his player-character's body.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes glow red because of the virus power.
* ScreamingWarrior: Screams and grunts the whole time while attacking in episode 5. only breaking from his screaming rage when touched by Flamegirl.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Naturally since he's Alpha's demon possessed form.
* UnskilledButStrong: Blinded by rage which hampers down on his skill, but he can dish out heavy damage.
* UnstoppableRage: The Villain Variety. While he's very powerful his rage can still cause him to, lose focus, and make poor decisions in combat.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: The Virus power drives him insane as a trade off.
* YourMindMakesItReal: The Forbidden Power is able to make his attacks hurt players in real life.

* DemonicPossession: Due to Zetto being possessed in episode 10
* FangsAreEvil: Zetto's teeth look much sharper while in this form.
* HeroicWillpower: Even when possessed by the Forbidden Power, Zetto manages to remove the rest of the Forbidden Power from Alpha's character.
* HopelessBossFight: is unbelievably powerful and invulnerable, Alpha holds his own against Demon Zetto very well for a decently long time, but ultimately loses. He would have been toast if not for Flamey and Nylocke intervening.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Demon Zetto's is called "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/survive-the-virus-by-thelivingtombstone Survive tHE VIRUS]]", which is a DarkReprise of "[[http://tomeseries.bandcamp.com/track/survive-the-drama Survive the Drama]]"

* NeckLift: Does this to Alpha with his Ki energy arm in episode 10.
* NoSell: The influence of the "Forbidden Power" makes him invulnerable to most attacks, except for Flamegirl's antivirus.
* PerpetualFrowner: Is always scowling and glaring menacingly and growling like a beast. This is a very creepy contrast to Zetto's constantly sporting a SlasherSmile in episode 05.
* PowerFloats: The Forbidden power makes him able to float in the air
* PowersViaPossession: Gains extra strength and power when being possessed by The Forbidden Power, including being able to extend his Ki-energy to give his attacks longer reach and:
* PowerUpgradingDeformation: His mechanical arm breaks apart and turns into a large arm made of ki.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes glow red the same way Alpha's do when he becomes possessed by the Forbidden Power in episode 10.

* UnstoppableRage: While possessed by The Forbidden Power. Which makes Zetto go berserk in a rage and repeatedly say "Kill", because the virus wants to destroy Alpha. Although Zetto eventually breaks the possession momentarily to say [[MercyKill "Kill Me"]] desperately asking Alpha to finish him.

!!!Associated Tropes
* AdaptationNameChange: It was called the "D-Bug" in the original.
* BossSubtitles: After transforming, it is accompanied by the subtitles, '''DRAGON BUG: ULTIMATE VACCINATION WEAPON'''
* DragonsUpTheYinYang: Resembles a chinese dragon, and looks incredibly awesome fighting Kajet in a Kaiju-esque battle.
* {{Kaiju}}: Designed as a giant dragon monster so it can fight The Forbidden Power's true form.
* LightIsNotGood: The Dragon Bug's Antivirus power source is seen as the only thing that can stop Kajet for the vast majority of the series, until things go horribly wrong in Episode 14 and it traps Flamegirl's mind inside of itself. It's revealed that it's ''based'' on SOFDTI's original antivirus fire, which is inherently good, but that it was corrupted by Neomutant because he wanted to use it to make Flamegirl suffer.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Is a mechanical dragon, created inside an MMO, with a head created from Nylocke's dragon character model, and powered by an anti-virus program, and the mind of Flamegirl. Pretty much as different as it gets.
* PowersAsPrograms: Justified, because it's literally a program powered by an anti-virus designed to fight Kajet, The Forbidden Power. It is also shown to pass from person to person, first being implanted into Flamegirl and then utilized by Rubirules when he absorbs it into his character model in the GrandFinale.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Glows purple, and spits out purple flames to denote the anti-virus's power within it.
* TechnicolorFire: The Dragon Bug's Antivirus fire is purple. Completely [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], because this is a video game, and the purple fire is merely a graphical interpretation of the actual antivirus.
* ThinkingUpPortals: Is able to create a portal to appear in the Sanctuary region.

[[folder:SOFDTI]]
-> Appears in: Episode 00, Episode 15
-> Voiced by: Creator/CaseyMongillo, credited as Ryan Gillmoon in episode 00
!!!Associated Tropes:
* AllegoricalCharacter: SOFDTI literally IS innocence, and optimism, and positive thoughts manifested as computer data. And she's able to overwhelm the Forbidden Power a virus whose origins comes from negative human thoughts. In other words she banished her own bad thoughts with ThePowerOfLove and positivity.
* BenevolentAI: SOFDTI was created by the Netkings as a program meant to process and understand human thought. Although SOFDTI Is inadvertendedly responsible for the creation of the Forbidden Power due to not being able to understand negative human emotions, she is still a benevolent entity and is one of the key reasons TOME is able to simulate the feeling of life.
* BishonenLine: A heroic example, where she evolves from a winged fairy, to a humanoid shadow, to a slender [[Anime/DragonBallZ female Majin Buu-esque]] form at the end of the ''[=A2Z =]'' movie.
* ClassifiedInformation: In exchange for allowing SOFDTI to survive the government made her (and by extension the Forbidden Power too) a government secret that the Netkings are by law bound from being able to talk about.
* FunWithAcronyms: SOFDTI stands for "Self-Operating Full Duplex Technical Intelligence". Rubirules remarks that he thinks it's a cheesy name, but Kindarspirit thinks it's cute and perfect for her.
* InstantAIJustAddWater: She was created completely by accident.
* MadeOfGood: She attained sentience miraculously when she was influenced by the positive thoughts and emotions she was processing of the Netkings who created her. She is literally made up of everything good, and positive about the human psyche in the form of data.
* MasterComputer: Of TOME. She's a rare Benevolent example.
* PunnyName: Alongside it being an acronym, [=SOFDTI=] is a pun on "softy" as well as "software", since she is a an innocent digital being.
* ThePowerOfLove: SOFDTI was able to weaken the Forbidden Power enough to seal it away because she's made up of extremely positive emotions influenced on her by the caring thoughts of her creators. Basically she sealed away the virus with the power of her parents' love for her.
* SignificantWardrobeShift: SOFDTI appears in various different forms throughout the series that represent her growth. The first form, created by Rubirules, was more a child-like and innocent, much like her character at the start of Episode 0. Her second form is that of Gamecrazed, which is her shadow in the game world and represents her limited knowledge outside the game. Her third form combines her pink color scheme with her Gamecrazed form, showing how she came to embrace both halves of herself, and grew up to love her newfound friends. The end of ''[=A2Z =]'' shows her having a much more adult-like and humanoid form, wearing a dress when she reunites with her friends, which indicates how she's grown up alongside her friends too.
* {{Technopath}}: Since she essentially is the game engine itself, she can control the graphics and physics of the game.
* {{Telepathy}}: TOME character models are controlled by converting players thoughts into data. SOFDTI processes those thoughts and interprets them as actions in the game. She's able to read players minds as a consequence of this.
* ThirdEye: Her character model has three eyes. She is psychic, and the third eye may also represent that, but it doesn't give her that ability. Rubirules just thought it was cool.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Due to not being able to process negative human emotions, SOFDTI accidentally created the Forbidden Power.
* WingedHumanoid: Her first character model is a pink fairy-like humanoid with insect wings.
* YourMindMakesItReal: She created the Sanctuary region of TOME when she read Bitshrum's mind and copied it directly from his imagination. On the flip side, when Execk told her about pain and human conflict, her fear and confusion of trying to understand those concepts were the catalyst that accidentally created the forbidden power.
