----
[[ViewerNameConfusion Not to be mistaken with the X-Hunters from the games]], since there are both good and evil versions of them. This page is about the good ones. Note: the folders appear in order of their appearance.
----
[[foldercontrol]]
[[folder:In General]]
* AdaptationalHeroism: The team is mostly made of (former) Mavericks.
* TheAtoner[=/=]MustMakeAmends: They're one big collective group who either are or feel responsible for the Maverick Wars, and their long-term plan is to end it.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: The only ones that never end up like this are X, Dr. Cain (justified in his case since he's a human), Alia and Cadis.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Each of the members has at least one sin.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Dr. Cain]]
An Archeobotanist who discovered X and used his design to produce Reploids, robots able to think for themselves. When they started going Maverick, he helped to form the Maverick Hunters.
----
* AscendedExtra: He has a bigger role and appears more often in X Chronicles than in the games.
* TheAtoner: To a small degree, at least, compared to Zero. He was a painful subversion: ''[[NiceJobBreakingItHero every]]'' [[NiceJobBreakingItHero attempt he makes to rectify that mistake, only made things]] ''[[NiceJobBreakingItHero worse]]: Repliforce, Dr. Doppler, Sigma and the Cain Antivirus. At least joining the X-Hunters, helping the cyborgs and making Signas vice-commander of the Maverick Hunters (despite not knowing he actually gives this possition to [[spoiler: Sigma]]) weren't bad moves.
%% * BigGood
* TheMentor: One to both X and Zero. He acts as one to Sigma before Sigma went Maverick.
* NameOfCain: Although he's not evil, his attempts to copy Dr. Light's research has ended in disaster.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Despite his field of study being old weeds, Cain could still reverse engineer X's design to create Reploids. This reverse engineering was physically sound, but he then subverts this trope when he neglects Light's warning about morally testing the new reploids.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Cain had good intentions in creating the Reploids from X's design, but not being skilled enough to recreate him 100% and not doing the morality testing resulted in the Mavericks. He then created Sigma to lead the Maverick Hunters, only for the virus in Zero to turn Sigma into humanity's biggest threat in history. And just for extra measure, his formation of the Repliforce for military police work to take stress off the Maverick Hunters also backfired into a full-on war.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Deepfreeze/[[spoiler:Chill Penguin]]]]
Deepfreeze is a member of Unit 32. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Chill Penguin, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* BreathWeapon: Can breathe an icy wind to create ice statues that block X's shots. He also fires small icicles and Shotgun Ices from his mouth.
* AnIcePerson: Shoots ice shards, can summon a snowstorm, and creates ice sculptures.
* LogicalWeakness: [[KillItWithFire Ice Reploid doesn't take well to fire-based weapon.]] [[spoiler: [[ManOnFire Penguin On Fire]] is the result.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: His sin is killing Alia's unit.
* TheNapoleon: Is known for terrorizing Mavericks.
* RecursiveAmmo: If Shotgun Ice hits a wall, 5 icicles will fan out from the impact point.
* ShapingYourAttacks: He can create ice copies of himself to be sicced at enemies or act as barriers to block enemy attacks.
* SlideAttack: [[spoiler: As Chill Penguin.]]
* SlippySlideyIceWorld: He's fought in a base in a snowy mountain.
* UtilityWeapon: Charging his Shotgun Ice will give X a temporary ice slide which he can slide on.
* WeakToFire: As an ice-based Reploid, he doesn't take too well to the Fire Wave, taking extra damage and even catching fire when hit by it.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Airstrike/[[spoiler:Storm Eagle]]]]
Airstrike is a member of unit 14 and the most skilled pilot of the Maverick Hunters. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Storm Eagle, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: He appears to show no problem being a Maverick... [[SubvertedTrope until it turns out he was just]] BrainwashedAndCrazy.
* AirborneMook: Fights in the sky and is an excellent pilot.
* ArmCannon: Uses it to fire his Storm Tornado attack.
* BirdPeople: [[spoiler: Was a humanoid avian robot.]]
* BlowYouAway: The Storm Tornado.
* CoolAirship: Being a pilot, he needs one.
* FeatheredFiend: [[spoiler: Originally.]]
* HighAltitudeBattle: He mostly battles using or onto an airship.
* LogicalWeakness: As agile and graceful as he is, even he can't outrun a laser attack.
** [[spoiler: Additionally, birds hate thorns due to being unable to perch on them.]]
* NobleBirdOfPrey: [[spoiler: At first.]]
* TornadoMove: Storm Tornado.
* WingedHumanoid: [[spoiler: Originally, he had six limbs: two wings, two arms, two legs.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Inferno/[[spoiler:Flame Mammoth]]]]
Inferno is a member of unit 14. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Flame Mammoth, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: He shows no BadBoss tendencies outside the time he's BrainwashedAndCrazy, and no animosity towards Deepfreeze.
* ArmCannon[=/=]FireBreathingWeapon: He shoots his Fire Wave from his right arm. So does X.
* ConveyorBeltOfDoom: Where he fought X.
* CruelElephant: While BrainwashedAndCrazy, seen when he enslaves some people. According to X, he was once a HonorableElephant.
* EternalEngine: He takes over a weapons factory, with lots of "junk" robots being carried around on belts and lots of molten metal pool.
* HonorableElephant: Was once this according to X. See AdaptationalNiceGuy above.
* LogicalWeakness: Fire gets blown away by wind.
* PlayingWithFire: Shoots fireballs at enemies that ignite if they hit an oil patch.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Shimmer/[[spoiler:Sting Chameleon]]]]
Shimmer is a member of unit 14. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Sting Chameleon, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* BirdsOfAFeather: He considers himself and the cyborgs to be this. [[spoiler: He ain't wrong, considering he once was infected.]]
* ConfusionFu: He often uses surprise attacks.
* EnergyWeapon: Chameleon Sting shoots green laser beams.
* GreenAndMean: [[spoilers: When he was BrainwashedAndCrazy. He becomes more heroic later on.]]
* HollywoodChameleons: His camouflage is nearly perfect, only distorting the wall behind him.
* {{Invisibility}}: Blends into the background to vanish. He also can make other things invisible, like Airstrike's airship.
* JungleJapes: He's in a jungle with a small swamp near the end.
* LightEmUp: His Chameleon Sting is a spread of high-level optical laser beams.
* LightIsNotGood: Has light based abilities (invisibility cloak), a light based weapon (see above), and was one of the villains. Gets turned into LightIsGood once he joins the X-Hunters.
* LizardFolk: [[spoiler: Once was a chameleon.]]
* LogicalWeakness: Hanging by the tongue makes him vulnerable to a cutting weapon.
* OverlyLongTongue: [[spoiler: As Sting Chameleon.]]
* ShipTease: He gets this with [[InterspeciesRomance Victoria the Cyborg]].
* SpreadShot: His Chameleon Sting shoots in three directions.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Alia]]
A [[VoiceWithAnInternetConnection navigator]] among the Maverick Hunters. She was once on field duty until her unit was killed by Chill Penguin, prompting her to become a Navigator.
----
* ActionGirl: [[DownplayedTrope She's less capable of kicking ass as most Hunters do]], but she did kick the asses of Bit and Byte.
* AdaptationalExpansion: Unlike the games, Alia's time with the Maverick Hunters before being a Navigator is explained here. [[spoiler: She was trained by Flame Stag.]]
* AgeGapRomance: [[DownplayedTrope Although both are physically the same age]], Alia is 100 years younger than [[OlderThanHeLooks X]].
* BadassBookworm: She was a researcher in Reploid engineering before joining the Maverick Hunters. Downplayed since she couldn't take out Chill Penguin or Flame Stag without X's help, but she did kick Bit and Byte out of Maverick Hunter HQ.
* GadgeteerGenius: Alia has a background as a Reploid researcher before joining the Maverick Hunters.
* HartmanHips
* MissionControl[=/=]VoiceWithAnInternetConnection: She provides hints and strategies to the Maverick Hunters during missions.
* OfficialCouple: She's X's LoveInterest.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Her armor parts are composed mainly of this color.
* TookALevelInBadass: [[SoProudOfYou Flame Stag's training finally paid off]] when Alia kicked the ass of Bit and Byte.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Overload/[[spoiler:Spark Mandrill]]]]
Overload is a member of unit 32. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Spark Mandrill, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* AntiArmor: His Electric Spark can break through Armored Armadillo's polarized armor.
* EternalEngine: A different one from Flame Mammoth, he is set in a power plant that experiences rolling blackouts.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Has large arms.
* HumanPopsicle: [[spoiler: More like "Mandrill Popsicle" at first, but]] This is what happens if he is hit by his weakness weapon.
* KillerGorilla: [[spoiler: At first he was more of killer mandrill.]]
* LogicalWeakness: [[spoiler: Mandrills live in tropical climates, thus hating the cold.]]
* ShockAndAwe
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Barrel/[[spoiler:Armored Armadillo]]]]
Barrel is a member of unit 53. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Armored Armadillo, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
----
* AlliterativeName: [[spoiler:Before he rechristened himself as Barrel.]]
* EnergyBall: The weapon X got from him.
** DeflectorShields: Its charged version.
* LogicalWeakness: All of his armor is polarized, so it can be shorted out by a high-powered electrical charge, leaving him vulnerable.
* MinecartMadness: [[spoiler: He is set in an AbandonedMine.]]
* WildWestArmadillo: [[spoiler: At first.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Depthcharge/[[spoiler: Launch Octopus]]]]
Depthcharge was a member of unit 14. [[spoiler: In reality, he's Launch Octopus, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]] After Doppler Effect, he quitted the Maverick Hunters in order to live peacefully with a human named Jessica.
----
* CombatTentacles: [[spoiler: Before joining the X-Hunters.]]
* FishPeople: [[spoiler: More an octopus-person.]]
* HomingProjectile: His homing fish (the Homing Torpedo).
* LikeASonToMe: Jessica is like a daughter to him, so it's no surprise the reason he quitted the Maverick Hunters is to stay with her. While he told her that he acts like this because he promised Launch Octopus to, [[spoiler: he actually is Launch Octopus, and he promised Jessica's grandfather to take care of her]].
* LogicalWeakness: All of his homing weaponry doesn't do any good against a weaponized full-body shield.
* UnderTheSea: [[spoiler: Was fought underwater.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Quickman/[[spoiler: Boomer Kuwanger]]]]
Quickman is a member of unit 53. [[spoiler: In reality, however, he's Boomer Kuwanger, one of the Mavericks in the first Maverick War.]]
* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: See HumansAreBastards below.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: [[spoiler: Originally, he resembled a stag beetle, [[MeaningfulName as his name implied]].]]
* BoomerangComeback: His Boomerang Cutter works this way.
* {{Expy}}: Of Robot Masters Cut Man and Quick Man. Exaggerated with the latter, as his disguised form not only is named after him, but also bears a strong resemblance to him.
* HumansAreBastards: He thought this about them because they abused him. He was willing to forgive them thanks to Dr. Cain, but TheVirus made him change his mind.
* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: With Gravity Beetle.
* LogicalWeakness: His fast speed can't help him dodge a homing projectile.
* SuperSpeed: He's an extremely fast Reploid.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: No one seems to question why a Reploid looking and having the same name as a Wily robot is a Maverick Hunter and close friends with X, a Light robot. Well, no one other than Zero, but he himself is a Maverick Hunter Wily robot that's friends with X, and when he did question, Quickman told him to brush it off.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Signas/[[spoiler:Sigma Enigma]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Cadis]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Tripwire/[[spoiler:Wire Sponge]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Spikesaw/[[spoiler:Wheel Gator]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Turbo/[[spoiler:Overdrive Ostrich]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Snapvice/[[spoiler:Bubble Crab]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Pyrostrike/[[spoiler:Flame Stag]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Blast Squirrel/[[spoiler:Morph Moth]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Mapteron/[[spoiler:Magna Centipede]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Warp Turtle/[[spoiler:Crystal Snail]]]][[/folder]]
[[folder: Iris]]
One of the [[VoiceWithAnInternetConnection Navigators]] of the Maverick Hunters and Zero's LoveInterest.
* AdaptationalOriginConnection: It was Gate who created her.
* CainAndAbel: She's Abel, with Colonel[[spoiler:/High Max]] as Cain.
* EasilyForgiven: Zero forgave her without a second thought for fighting him. It helps that Zero himself believes their fight [[ItsAllMyFault is entirely his fault]].
* {{Foil}}: To her brother, Colonel. While Iris was created without combat experience (although she does get some, [[TookALevelInBadass and she used it pretty well]]), she's an [[NiceGirl absolute sweetheart]] who accepts her mistakes and even [[ItsAllMyFault puts all the blame on herself if something bad happens and a mistake of hers was involved]]. Colonel, a warrior Reploid, is a prideful JerkAss who [[NeverMyFault never accepts his mistakes]].
* ItsAllMyFault: She believes that her near-death experience in the Repliforce incident is entirely her fault.
* OfficialCouple: With Zero, duh.
* SparedByAdaptation: One of the most important divergences from canon.
* TokenGoodTeammate: She's the one of Gate's creations who is an unambiguously good person.
* TookALevelInBadass: In "Fall of X", Iris manages to fare pretty well against [[InvincibleVillain High Max]]. This says a lot for a Reploid that wasn't created to fight.
* VoiceWithAnInternetConnection
