It's a BulletHell rhythm game. Of course there is awesome music!
----
* The tutorial, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j-eb-8huQc "Corrupted"]] by Danimal Cannon, is one of the most exciting first levels in a while.
* The first real level, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLG_K7X2BaE Chronos]]" by Danimal Cannon, is a good taste of what's to come.
* The first boss battle music, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z5Pk4aTl8A "Long Live the New Fresh"]], is an epic fast electronic theme that captures the boss' animations perfectly and is a great piece for an action-packed fight.
* "[[https://youtu.be/6y_NJg-xoeE New Game]]" by Nitro Fun, for the first boss fight after the ColdOpen, is a very fun track accompanied by many chiptune sounds from various video games.
* [[https://soundcloud.com/sabrepulse/termination-shock "Termination Shock"]] by Sabrepulse is the game's [[WakeUpCallBoss Wake-Up Call Level]], and fittingly enough is a fast-paced track with heavy basslines.
* [[https://youtu.be/yhviMWU_AxM “Sevcon”]] by Big Giant Circles starts out calm and serene but slowly gets more fast paced, and then by the time of the drop the song is outright frantic, turning into chaotic and intense dubstep before calming back down to its serene demeanor once more.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKRRWQq5f5E "Barracuda"]] by Noisestorm is a threatening, fast-paced track that fittingly plays during the third boss battle (the fight with the giant pyramid).
* "[[https://soundcloud.com/omnitica/dubwoofer-substep Dubwoofer Substep"]] by Omnitica is guaranteed to give you chills, with the track starting off as a beautiful harp tune accompanied by heavy drumming, until eventually dropping into several aggressive synth riffs and some of the heaviest bass in the entire game.
* The hardcore, bass-heavy [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4joh_k8BMkc "Lycanthropy"]] by Cardi, which plays during the fourth boss fight, the fight with the giant cactus creature.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Aauep0VWs Rainbow Road]]" by nanobii is a relentlessly-happy, synth-heavy tune that plays when you collect a {{MacGuffin}} and fight TheCorruption.
* The introduction you get to the Factory comes in the form of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDbZ3ScifxU Cool Friends]]" (the remixed version by Murtagh and Veschell), which perfectly fits for a mechanical environment with the bass-fueled thumping and whirring sawblade noises in the background adding the cherry on top. The moment with [[SignatureScene the giant saws]] especially is guaranteed to stick with you long after finishing the level.
* [[https://youtu.be/9TTnTu3ql_g “Spectra”]] by Chipzel, the same artist for the music of VideoGame/SuperHexagon, almost sounds like it came out of a very high quality Gameboy speaker, with the song being completely chiptune.
* The fight against the corrupted Cube features [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIC1aK6CleE "Close To Me",]] an intense track that fits perfectly with one of the most epic and emotional boss battles in the game.
* All three levels in the Tower before the FinalBoss are very fun pieces.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTMZoM0QmaA Into The Zone]]" by Shirobon, an energetic techno track that brings to mind popular [[TheNineties 90s]]' music.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNAbBeRPzww Vindicate Me]]" by Big Giant Circles, a slower, mechanical song along the likes of Cool Friends above, punctuated by classic video game sound effects at one point, followed by the music seemingly breaking down as you proceed.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggqI-HH8yXc Try This]]" by Pegboard Nerds, a homage to Film/JamesBond and other spy flicks that makes you really feel like a master of espionage.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGh5DV0D3wk Final Boss]]" by Nitro Fun, for the rematch with the BigBad near the end of the game, begins with a triumphant rising as the player climbs the tower to meet the BigBad, then followed by a very bass heavy track accompanied by a ''Franchise/MortalKombat''-esque announcer.
* "[[https://youtu.be/Ivi1e-yCPcI Annihilate]]" by [[Music/ExcisionMusician Destroid]], a much more industrial and threatening track that accompanies the BigBad's monstrous transformation and fight against its OneWingedAngel form, is awesome yet overpowering. Punctuated by the vocals "YOU HAVE BEEN DESTROYED".
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usXhiWE2Uc0 Till It's Over]]" by Tristam, the music that plays when the player gets their EleventhHourSuperpower and starts trashing the BigBad's OneWingedAngel form. An epic and triumphant sounding track for the finale whose title perfectly contrasts the GameOver text "IT'S OVER" and complements the "continue" text "IT'S NOT OVER".
* Many of the extra levels after you can unlock for fulfilling certain requirements are definitely worth it.
** [[https://youtu.be/XQsMmtC91b4 “Commando Steve”]] by Bossfight is a tense song that’s nearly all chiptune sounding, starting off with a simple beat and melody then becoming downright epic at the drop, with a muffled, pixelated voice yelling “COME ON!”
** [[https://youtu.be/iOoxpU-J_a4 “Tokyo Skies”]] by Chipzel is another chiptune resembling track, with a repeating but catchy melody that later evolves into another just as catchy melody.
** [[https://youtu.be/9t6Suxax26A “Dance of the Incognizant”]] by [=FantomenK=] features what sounds like a siren at the beginning with some catchy beats, before quickly becoming more badass sounding, with some catchy claps in the background.
** [[https://youtu.be/uKo_IJDCO9c “Fox”]] by Shirobon starts simple but hooks you in immediately, getting more intense progressively and weaving into a beautiful melody at the drop, which only gets better as it goes on.
** [[https://youtu.be/ekawaLsryiU “On The Run”]] also by Shirobon, a fast song that only gets faster, befitting of the name, with every section of the song being absolutely blood pumping. The fact that parts of the famous [[https://youtu.be/BJ0xBCwkg3E “Running in the 90s’”]] are mixed in as well helps that adrenaline rushing feeling.
* Mixtape #2, "Just Shovels & Knights", adds four new songs, all remixes of the level themes for the four playable characters in ''VideoGame/ShovelKnight'':
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5L8ttPkjEs Strike the Earth]]", as remixed by Danimal Cannon, gives the original track an energetic synth-rock flair to get you set for adventure.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaJjeYuVI5k Flowers of Antimony]]", as remixed by Rainbowdragoneyes (a new composer for the game, known for providing the OST for ''[[VideoGame/TheMessenger2018 The Messenger]]''), provides an eerie, but whimsical feel befitting the explosive-hungry alchemist.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDMP1ULhboE In the Halls of the Usurper]]", as remixed by Kubbi, is a majestic, sweeping tune that gives the original chiptune accompaniment from additional percussion to give it more punch.
** "[[https://shirobon.bandcamp.com/track/just-shovels-knights-la-danse-macabre-shirobon-remix La Danse Macabre]]", as remixed by Shirobon, is the boss track of the package, with a heavier percussion presence that even the boss can't help but dance to in between the more dubstep-esque breakdowns.
* The Lost Chapter also has some note worthy (no pun intended) tunes.
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sZHTdRUtXo Pursuit]]" by Shirobon has you running away from the Boss, with harsh beats to emphasize the Boss's anger towards you for beating it earlier.
** Let's be real, nobody was expecting ''"[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqNcbO3imFo Spider Dance]]"'' from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}''. It starts out like the original song before being given a more dramatic instrumental backbone, perfectly accompanying the corrupted spider boss who fully intends to kill you.
