* BettyAndVeronica: It's possible Monet & ''{{ComicBook/Mystique}}'' would have been this. When the series was still running, WordOfGod says they weren't going to get along at all. Some, upon hearing that, instantly theorize some of the animosity would've been over Creed. Pre-Inversion, he & Mystique were partners on many occasions -they rule Madripoor together. They also had an off-and-on sexual history which resulted in a son. Post-Inversion, he seemed to have a ShipTease with Monet, who becomes his MoralityChain when his Inversion starts to wane.
** After becoming M-plate, Monet showed a slight [[https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/silverfang2/29185537/1154899/1154899_1000.jpg jealousy toward Rachel Grey with Sabretooth]]. So she most-likely wouldn't have been welcoming with Mystique.

* ReplacementScrappy: ''Someone'' at Marvel seems really intent on making Sabretooth one for Wolverine; the whole "Sabretooth reforms!" thing is a RecycledPremise that has been done like two or three times in 616 canon alone, never mind all the alternate realities where he's a hero (see ''ComicBook/AgeOfApocalypse'', ''ComicBook/XMenForever'', etc). It usually works in alternate realities, but in the main one with his [[CompleteMonster rather long history of being utterly monstrous]] it's led to quite the BrokenBase.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Xorn II was originally treated as FanonDiscontinuity at best, loathing at worst for his status as a walking ContinuitySnarl. Reintroducing him as a target of the Dark Riders, only to show [[NervesOfSteel no fear,]] calmly offer them tea, share a bit of philosophy then kick their asses and sending them fleeing for the hills made him an EnsembleDarkhorse.

* UnexpectedCharacter: Elixir and Triage. Of note: [[spoiler:the latter sticks around after he shows up, unlike the former who seemingly gets killed in a tragic manner]].

!!YMMV Tropes applying to the 2016 series:

* BrokenBase:
** Cullen Bunn being writer, what with his somewhat sketchy, 50-50 record. Even more so because he's made it clear that his ''Uncanny'' run will be an extension of his ''Magneto'' run. Averted when it comes to Greg Land being on art; people are pretty unified in their hatred of that.
** Sabretooth. Either it's great that his being a good guy gets to be explored more, since it was a thoroughly AbortedArc thanks to ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'', and is a way for his character to gain some real depth. Or it's keeping a plot point that made zero sense to begin with and will keep asking readers to care about a mass murderer.
* DracoInLeatherPants: Between the bent of the 2014 ''Magneto'' solo series and now his elevation in ''Uncanny'', it's quite clear Marvel is angling to capitalize on years of this to make him the new [[WolverinePublicity Wolverine]]. His role here, which essentially just rehashes Wolverine's "leader of a team of black-ops X-Men" from 2008's ''ComicBook/XForce'' v3, is particularly telling.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Magneto's outfit becoming more like his Ultimate counterpart's.
* UnexpectedCharacter: Elixir and Triage. Of note: [[spoiler:the latter sticks around after he shows up, unlike the former who seemingly gets killed in a tragic manner]].
** Xorn, due to the massive ContinuitySnarl surrounding him and unlike the other two is thus far a recurring character.
** As of issue 19 [[spoiler:Elixir is back and has teamed up with Exodus to watch Magneto's back]].
